Short and pretentious story that's intentionally confusing, annoying voice overs (think Bastion but this time a dull guy commenting on every little thing), and the gameplay is tedious walking around with random combat that is designed to be frustrating since every enemy counters you in some way with shields, invisibility, pulls, or explosive projectiles you can't outrun. Now imagine they're all spamming this across the screen. And your movement is always slow. You also have long delays for every one of your moves. Even the dash ability. You basically have to find some exploit combination attack that either let's you one-shot the biggest problems on the screen or do a slow drain attack for a few % damage as you dodge around until you need to apply it again. Lastly, there's many unskippable cutscenes making it an extra fun slog to play it through a 2nd time for the achievements.

最早24年打的这游戏，两年过去了它仍是我心目中最最好的堪称完美的游戏，甚至不敢二周目因为我怕没有一周目那种深深被打动的感觉破坏我对这游戏的回忆——以上倒不是说游戏性，而是作为游戏如何去“表达”，如何通过完美搭配的美术、音乐、设定、情节带给玩家一个完整的世界，一段动人的故事，再用恰到好处的操作让玩家被这个世界深深吸引。我简直无法相信这游戏的存在。它像是100%完全按照我的喜好捏造出的幻觉。
美术、音乐、配音都是神级，游戏性非常独特完整。而这设定和剧情…电影书籍剧集游戏，我几乎无法想象世界上是否还存在能更对我口味的作品。真的还有这样的作品存在吗？它太完美了。
而且好喜欢好喜欢结局。当我在游戏前期中期甚至后期脑补时，我都不可能想得出比这更令我满意的结局。这就是我心目中应该有的结局。痛和快乐和好的坏的可能性都刚刚好。任何情节都可能在我心中回响，而这是我最想要的那种。

1、画风出挑 + 氛围出挑。青蓝色 + 金色，极为华丽。疏离的游戏场景，幽灵同伴，用侧写的方式描述出赛博朋克城市极具内涵的一面。
2、玩法逻辑不对。看采访制作组设计战斗玩法时参考了时令流行的MOBA游戏并进行创新。4个技能 + 可随意组合搭配强化看似很有深度，但有缺陷：1、MOBA游戏英雄和技能固定，并且和敌人、场景、队友之间有机互动。但晶体管这样的有机结合做得不够。另外由于组合太多，很难在四个按键上立刻熟悉 + 利用。而Moba玩家可以有大量的时间熟悉一个英雄，而晶体管整体流程远没有这么长，不足以支撑这样深度的技能系统。另外，Turn这个设计也很别扭，如果你不用turn，那这是一个技能前后摇巨长的低能即时战斗游戏，而如果你使用了turn，那么大部分技能都不能在turn之后使用，期间你只能闪避躲藏，变成了无聊的回合制游戏。
另外，和前作堡垒一样，“后门”内的各种小房间真是非常打破节奏感，不过竟然小房间内的关卡设计和技能系统结合得非常好，正式场景下却很敷衍。
太遗憾了。

В свое время не мог пройти игру до конца по разным причинам и только сейчас дошли до неё руки, саму компанию Supergiant Games знаю со школы так как раньше залипал в их Bastion на пиратке но в прошлом году смог взять набор со всеми проектами и остами, у команды однозначно талант так как их игры это AAA в инди сегменте как по визуалу, озвучке, истории и как видно по Transistor музыке которые вы будите искать по всем стриминговым сервисам(я же скину себе на плеер и буду слушать их в высоком качестве), игру очень рекомендую, по истории и боевой системе даже на сейчас при нынешнем времени в пару с графическим исполнением она вне времени, была бы алея звезд для разработчиков игр эти ребята бы оказались там однозначно. По продолжительности у меня вышло почти 6 часов и это не минус, механики, мир и история рассчитаны по насыщению как раз на такую продолжительность, лично для меня это не игра, а произведение искусства.

Jogo simplesmente incrivel do comeco ao fim. Eu amo tudo que envolva esse game, poder re-jogar essa obra de arte depois de tantos anos sempre sera uma honra e agora tendo feito 100% dele fico ainda mais satisfeito.
Historia 9/10 - Ela eh linda e numa primeira jogatina pode ser um pouco confusa, mas com paciencia eh possivel entender todos os detalhes.
Gameplay 10/10 - Simples e complexa ao mesmo tempo, alem de muito viciante e certa forma desafiadora tambem.
Graficos 10/10 - O jogo brilha, ja que tudo parece parte de uma pintura. Impecavel
Trilha Sonora 1000/10 incrivel como as musicas desse jogo te prendem e eh simplemente impossivel nao querer colocar 2 ou 3 delas em todas suas playlists.

Resumo Geral: Na minha visao o jogo eh excelente, do comeco ao fim. Na minha visao um jogaco 10/10.

Ok, wow. Transistor is really one-of-a-kind experience that I am shocked I haven't seen more hype about. I mean, I saw some of the coverage back in the day when it first released, but the fact that it didn't have a lot of lasting power to be still talked about in the same way that people talk about other indie classics is surprising to me.
Transistor is an art-deco futuristic RPG with a pasu mechanic like in old-school CRPGs a-la Baldur's Gate or Dragon Age. Of course, unlike those games this one is a bit more simple, but it's systems actually allow for quite a bit of depth.

The game starts in jarring way, with our protagonist, whose name we learn is Red, standing over a corpse of a man that was impaled by a giant green sword that looks like a circuit board, which we later learn is a titular Transistor. We know that Red lost her voice and the guy, who got killed, got stuck inside the sword and can talk to Red. Outside of that, the game really doesn't go out of it's way to tell much about the world or characters. In fact, it actually obscures quite a lot of it, leaving a lot of room for speculation and theories that will never be confirmed. I guess you can call approach of the storytelling similar to Dark Souls, where most of it's lore comes from item descriptions, most of the story of Transistor told through terminal entries and biographies of people, that integrated within the Transistor and their personalities are transformed into new abilities. I don't really understand quite a bit of what is going on in this story anyway, but it really sticks in your head and will probably get stuck in my head for a while.

The graphics are a master class by Supergiant Games. It is a massive improvement over Bastion, which already looked really nice, but the level of detail and animation in models and environments is a big step up. Even robotic enemies have some really interesting designs, even though you would expect most of them to be form-over-function. There are optional scenes with beatiful illustrations where Red is hanging out with the sword. And the music is great. There are different arrangements of each track, where you hear the song normally, and the version where Red hums the melody of the track, as well as couple of fully vocalised tracks. The presentaion is A+ here.
The only issue I have is the fact that the game's resolution can't get above 1080p, so if you are on 1440p, or even 4K, the game can be a bit blurry up close. Also, I guess it might be a bug with the Linux version, but the game doesn't instatly recognize external sound sources. I use a DAC with my headphones, but the game on launch tries to use motherboard sound, so I always had to Alt+Tab to switch sources back and forth until it worked. But if you are using a singular source like from the motherboard directly it shouldn't be an issue.

The gameplay on surface is simple. It's a real-time with pause system like in old-school CRPGs, but you still control Red directly with her movement and abilities. When activate the pause, you can freely move and choose your actions. You can do a limited amount of actions during the pause, and your actions will be queued up and quickly executed, but then the pause and most of the abilities will be on cooldown, so you need to account for that to not get stuck in a bad position and get killed.
Where the magic happenes with this system is with it's abilities. So, you use ability directly as an attack or a direct option, but also each ability slot has up to 2 upgrade slots, so you can put an ability as an upgrade to another ability. So, for example, the first ability you have is Crash, which is a fast attack with a short range that can stun enemies for a second and does pretty decent damage. If you add this ability as an upgrade to another ability, it will enhance it by giving it capability to stun enemies. Additionally, later you can unlock slots for passive abilities, and any ability also can be used in passive slot and provide unique benefites, from more health and immunity to certain status effects, to improvements to the pause mechanic, by extending it's time or adding unique abilities there. I don't know if I did a good job explaining this stuff, but there is a lot of depth with how each function interacts with another, and with experimentation you can do some broken stuff.

Transistor really is an underrated gem. Even now searching it on Youtube, outside of old reviews and playthroughs, I don't see much of the discussions of it's lore, or any theories. Maybe it just came too soon, or maybe it just didn't get the chance to get stuck in a collective subconsious that other indie darlings got like Undertale or some other pixel RPG that I probably will never play. I mean, Dark Souls lore gets milked dry by the community with any item description and every dialogue being dissected, every little thing getting turned into a meme. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. Transistor is really good, and if you are interested in beatiful indie games with good music and interesting mechanics and somewhat confusiong plot that won't be completely clear after a full playthrough, please play Transistor.

ストアページのアートが気に入った人や変化球なアクションゲームをプレイしたい人にとって、十分プレイする価値のあるゲームです。

[h1]ストーリー[/h1]
舞台は、人々が望めば「プロセス」によって橋や建物どころか天候まで作り出される先端都市、クラウドバンク。
ある日、主人公で人気歌手のレッドは「カメラータ」と名乗る組織に襲撃されてしまう。なんとか難を逃れたレッドだったが、その際、レッドを庇った恋人が緑色の大剣「トランジスター」に閉じ込められてしまう。さらに同時刻、街では「プロセス」が暴走し、人や建物を襲い破壊し始める。
レッドは恋人を救うため、そして「プロセス」の暴走を止めるためにカメラータへ立ち向かう。

[h1]アート[/h1]
世界観や用語は近未来的でありながら、ところどころにレトロ感や古代的な雰囲気も感じられ、それが非常に美しいアートスタイルで表現されています。BGMも種類が豊富で、主人公が作詞したボーカル付きの楽曲などもあり、音楽面にも強いこだわりを感じます。主人公や武器のデザインも独特で、アートワーク全体がとても印象に残りました。

「テスト」というチャレンジ要素をクリアすることでBGMを集めて聴くことができるが、ロビーのような場所でしか再生できないのが少し残念でした。せめてテスト中だけでも、好きなBGMを流しながらプレイできたらよかったと思います。

[h1]ストーリー[/h1]
プロセスという仕組み（技術？）によって橋や建物だけでなく天候までも操作できる街が、そのプロセスの暴走によって崩壊していくという設定はとても面白く、個人的にも好みでした。しかし、それを視覚的にしっかり見せてくれるのがゲーム終盤であるため、説明不足な印象を拭えないままストーリーが進んでいく部分があります。

プロセスによって街が崩壊していく様子は、OVC端末というフレーバーテキストと、点在するプロセスの存在によって描写されるのですが、それだけでは少し物足りないと感じます。
ゲーム後半のOVC端末では、街の崩壊を受け入れたニュースキャスターの虚無感や悲観に満ちた良いテキストもあります。それだけに、プロセスに襲われたり逃げ惑ったりする人々の姿を、もっと視覚的に見せてくれていれば、より物語に没入できたのではないかと思いました。

ただ、そういった不満はありつつ、エンディングでは断片的に理解していた内容と、BGMと演出によって満足させられました。

[h1]ゲームシステム[/h1]
ゲームシステムは、ファンクションというスキルにあたる要素を「スキル」「強化」「パッシブ」という三種類のスロットに割り当てて攻撃を組み立てるビルドシステムと、戦闘中に時間を停止して一方的に攻撃アクションを指定できるターンシステムの二つが特徴的です。
ターン中に複数の敵を引き寄せて強力な範囲攻撃で一掃したり、状態異常で敵の動きを遅くしてターン中に逃げながら戦ったりと、さまざまな戦略を取ることができます。

また、ファンクションは残機の役割も兼ねており、体力がなくなると破壊されてしまいます。一部のボス戦ではほぼ確実にファンクションが破壊されるため、ダメージソースが偏ったビルドだと攻撃手段がなくなり、詰んでしまうこともあります。
また、敵によっては一定以上のダメージを無効化してしまうこともあります。
なので、敵に応じてビルドを組み替えたほうが効果的で、単調さを感じることなく最後まで遊ぶことができました。

ただし、ターン中の攻撃については、角で攻撃が遮られたりノックバックで敵が移動したりして、表示通りのダメージにならないことがあり、慣れるまでは少しストレスに感じました。

ストアページの画像からは純粋なアクションゲームのように見えましたが、実際にはターン制バトル的な要素もあり、最初は少し戸惑いました。しかし、慣れてくると爽快感があり、とても面白かったです。

Gra do najdłuższych, ani do najbardziej skomplikowanych nie należy, chociaż nie można jej odmówić przyjemnej dla oka grafiki, wpadającej w ucho muzyki, czy satysfakcjonującej walki, do której trzeba się trochę z początku przyzwyczaić. Fabularnie spodziewałem się czegoś innego. Historia zupełnie mnie nie porwała, a narracja momentami bywała nużąca. Cyberpunkowy klimat też mógłby być bardziej...

Nie wiem, czy kiedyś wrócę do Transistor (inne gry czekają w kolejce), ale sama gra nie była na tyle zła lub męcząca, żebym nie mógł jej polecić. Szczególnie, gdy będzie na wyprzedaży ;)

[b]Transistor[/b] — это игра которые, видимо, проснулись однажды утром и решили: "А давайте-ка мы заставим игроков не только любоваться красивыми пейзажами, но и хорошенько поплакать в конце". Вы играете за Ред — певицу, у которой украли голос, но взамен вручили огромный меч с душой убитого друга внутри. Буквально: меч говорит, шутит, флиртует и вообще ведёт себя как идеальный мужчина — молчит, когда надо, и советует, когда не надо. Действие происходит в городе Клаудбанк, который медленно, но верно стирается загадочным "Процессом" в белую пустоту. И только вы с вашим металлическим бойфрендом можете это остановить. Или не можете. В общем, готовьте носовые платки.

[h2]🎨Графика и звук[/h2]
Это, пожалуй, тот редкий случай, когда хочется поставить игре 10 из 10 ещё до того, как начался геймплей. Графика здесь нарисована от руки в лучших традициях концепт-арта, который хочется повесить на стену. Каждая локация — это отдельное произведение искусства: неоновые огни, приглушенные тона, атмосфера умирающего, но прекрасного будущего . Звук... О, звук! Даррен Корб написал саундтрек, который хочется слушать даже в пробках, а Эшли Барретт поет так, что у вас побегут мурашки по спине даже если вы закоренелый циник. А в тактическом режиме боя Ред начинает тихонько напевать мелодию — это настолько трогательная деталь, что хочется специально ставить игру на паузу, просто чтобы послушать. Ну и отдельный низкий поклон Логану Каннингему — голосу меча, который звучит в вашей голове на протяжении всей игры, как самый заботливый голос в вашей жизни.

[h2]🎮Геймплей[/h2]
И вот тут начинается самое интересное. Разработчики взяли боевку из Bastion, добавили в неё XCOM и приправили всё это возможностью программировать свои действия. У вас есть два режима боя: реальное время (для тех, кто любит махать мечом как дровосек) и тактическая пауза (для тех, кто любит посидеть, подумать и построить идеальный план). Во втором режиме время останавливается, вы выстраиваете цепочку действий: перемещения, удары, спецприемы — а потом наблюдаете, как Ред исполняет этот танец смерти. Система "функций" (читай: навыков) позволяет комбинировать их между собой тремя разными способами: активное умение, пассивная прокачка или улучшение для другого навыка. Это открывает тысячи комбинаций, и вы можете провести часы в меню, подбирая идеальный билд. А если вас убили — не переживайте, вы просто потеряете одну функцию до следующего терминала сохранения. Щадящая система наказания для тех, кто не любит проигрывать.

[h2]📖Сюжет и атмосфера[/h2]
Сюжет здесь — как хорошее вино: чем старше становишься, тем больше нюансов находишь. История подается обрывками: новостные сводки в терминалах, комментарии меча, обрывки воспоминаний убитых врагов. Вы играете в детектива, собирая по кусочкам правду о городе Клаудбанк, организации "Камерата" и загадочном "Процессе". Атмосфера безысходности и нежности переплетаются так тесно, что к финалу вы уже не знаете, плакать вам или улыбаться. Это история о потере, о любви, о самопожертвовании и о том, что даже цифровой мир может хранить настоящие чувства. Спойлер: концовка пробьет даже самую толстую броню цинизма. Город Клаудбанк, кстати, — это метафора облачных технологий: всё меняется каждый день по результатам голосования, но ничего не становится лучше. Ирония судьбы в цифровую эпоху.

It's a very uniqe game visually that just want you to explore this world. The sound and music adds greatly to it as well, creating a very relaxing/jazz like ambient while playing.
The combat and story however was a miss for me. The combat is simple but lets you mix and match skills, but using them felt clunky with hitboxes and cooldown. The Turn system was creative and new to me, but after using it you just ran around waiting for it to recharge again. The main story was very vague, and the antagonist faction the Camerata with its 4 members is barely used in my eyes.

Определённо лучший игровой опыт, который я получал за много-много лет. Начинал трогать игру из-за рассказов своих друзей, и убедился, что потраченного времени вот вообще не жаль: ни на 100% достижений, ни на несколько перепрохождений подряд. Оригинальный саундтрек - просто пушка, никогда не покидает моих плейлистов, и по праву может считаться, если не основной, то одной из главных составляющих игры.

Транзистор это не просто игра, а маленькая камерная история, у которой нет вводных данных, нет чёткого и ясного конца, это именно опыт, который стоит пережить хоть раз, тем более в первый раз на прохождение уходит +- 13 часов, а в дальнейшем прохождение становится быстрее, но и не приносит тех же эмоций, как когда добираешься до концовки в первый раз.

The music and singing in this is so good, it compelled me to try to learn singing. I made some progress, but I'll never be as good or as dedicated as the singers in this. The soundtrack was a worthy competitor for Bastion's which was simply amazing.

The game itself is very fun, the visuals are great, but the music is just stellar.

Beautiful art, sound design and music. The gameplay looks like supergiant was experimenting with an isometric action game based on synergies, and it feels like a step before the arrival of hades that have more frenetic gameplay.

This wasn't really my cup of tea, everything just didn't click. While the combat is ellebroate, with many combo's to try out it just didn't click. Story and lore wise it was to vague and obscure for me. Found the music to be okay, nice at best but not great. Found the singing in general and humming while using 'turn' simply annoying. The most annoying and voice by far (for me) was the transistor. Found it to be too nonchalant and uninterested and the constant remarks on almost everything just not my jam.

The art style and vibe however is where it shines and is really unique and props for trying something different.

Maybe I'm just missing something but for me it was a solid 6.5/10

I didn’t expect Transistor to stay with me long after finishing it, but it quietly settled somewhere in my thoughts and never really left. It’s one of those rare games that feels less like something you beat and more like something you experience; it's like walking through a vidid memory, or dreaming a dream that somewhat becomes a reality and you're stuck with a sense of déja-vu.

The first thing that struck me was how deliberate everything feels. Nothing rushes you. The story starts off simple enough; a lady picks up a blade that can somehow communicate with her, and that's literally the only thing that ties you, the player, to this amazing universe! A talking blade who notices that Red, your protagonist, has lost her voice. As you advance through this desolate dystopia, with robotic beings managing everything, you pick up pieces of the puzzle, one after the other... This game is amazing not because that's your only sense of progression (the puzzle you're trying to recompose) but because the game succeeds in tying you emotionally to a mute girl and its talking sword.

The combat is like nothing you'd ever see in any other game. It alternates between strategic monitoring of your acquired combat skills and a direct free for all where you're hiding and recovering for your next planning phase... and trust me when I tell you, that blue meter cannot refill fast enough lol. Those moments of waiting for it to refill so you can enter your next Planning phase is the most stressful 5 or 6 seconds of your gameplay.

The music deserves special mention. It doesn’t just sit in the background; it shapes the mood of every moment. Tracks shift seamlessly between calm reflection and tense confrontation, reinforcing the feeling that gameplay and narrative are inseparable parts of the same whole. The soundtrack literally works wonders as it gives meaning to the world around Red, whose heart once beat for the feeling of a mic in her hands. Let's just say it's one of those games that will pacify villains... Every single player in the grand scheme of things has a backstory behind him or her; even the Camerata (those treacherous villainous idiots that'd rather give away their freewill and MERGE with the process for a tiny bit more power).

Transistor, to me, is a [b]10/10[/b] masterpiece, no questions asked... I mean I was about to give it a 9.5 instead but my reasoning for it is that it was TOO SHORT... I loved it to bits, but it was like three hours of gameplay tops and that's quite sad because it left so many questions unanswered and that ending is just... I felt like they could've done more than that ending. But anyways, if there's ever a Transistor 2 I'd be the first one to play it. This game is epic!

[spoiler]游戏前期Sybil的boss战演出很赞，不同阶段进入Turn操作背景音乐也不同，第一次听到失真的、数据化的女声响起时鸡皮疙瘩一下就起来了；另外如果在不同场景摁哼唱进行互动的时候，女主哼唱的调子也不一样。世界之脊出现之前男主那句昏沉沉的旁白"The spine of the world"一下子给这个游戏故事增加了神秘感。外加男主那种醉醺醺还会傻笑的声音真的很好味啊，不得不说制作者真的很懂（笑），一个失去身体只有声音的男人和一个失去声音，失去挚爱，拖着疲惫身躯的女子加在一起促成了一场凄凉而又无可奈何的旅途。游戏后期就一直在跑图打怪了，相比道中，最终boss的演出和创意性远超难度性。最后批评一下后门测试，那个最后能达到16波次的测试搞的我身心俱疲，可能是几大测试关里我最讨厌的一种了，永远忘不掉一边焦急的摁mask一边被狗追着咬还有那个讨厌的可以给怪回血还能套保护的鼓舞者，还有反复后撤步还会放定时炸弹的类人。[spoiler]

This one wasn't for me, a rare miss for Supergiant.

The visual design, sound, and music were great.

I found the story and by extension the flavor of the mechanics too obscure. Hard to get invested in the characters.
The gameplay felt very swingy too me where I was a menace in turn() but very vulnerable outside of it. It felt like I needed to be really precise to be effective, but the freedom of movement undermined me.

A relatively short game, but quite possibly the best seven hours I’ve spent with a Supergiant title. [i]Transistor[/i] delivers a beautifully crafted sci-fi noir story, brought to life through striking art direction and memorable characters. From the very first moments, I was captivated by the comic-book-inspired visuals and the outstanding soundtrack. Similar to Supergiant's previous game, [i]Bastion[/i], a narrator accompanies you throughout the journey, gradually revealing more about the protagonist, her past, and the evolving mechanics of the game.

The combat system is genuinely brilliant, and I’m surprised we haven’t seen more games adopt something similar. Designing and customizing your own abilities feels both creative and strategic. It reminded me somewhat of the spellcrafting system in Obsidian's [i]Tyranny[/i], particularly in how it encourages experimentation. The optional combat challenges – some of which feel almost like puzzles – push you to rethink your approach, and new enemy types constantly require you to adapt your strategy. My preferred loadout evolved continuously as I experimented with different combinations of active, passive, and modifier functions. It’s an incredibly well-balanced and innovative system.

When the credits rolled, I found myself wishing there was more. I could have easily spent several additional hours exploring this world and refining new builds. I genuinely hope Supergiant revisits this universe one day and expands on this exceptional combat system.

Absolutely loved it. The gameplay is pretty interesting because you can plan your turns, which helps you make some great combos. The story is about 8 hours long, but there is a NG+ that's worth playing if you are left wanting for more.

The aesthetics are immaculate. The drawings that you see throughout the game are gorgeous, and the story is pretty original. I really liked the characters, too.

If you are coming from Hades and Hades II, as I was, the gameplay is certainly slower-paced and a bit more cumbersome. But that's because the games are fundamentally different. I got used to it pretty quickly, and ended up enjoying the differences.

Absolutely recommend this gem! Supergiant Games never disappoints.

For those who have come to check out prior Supergiant games from Hades 1 and 2: this is going to be a bit different gameplay-wise from those games. However, in terms of gorgeous artwork, music that will live in your head rent-free for eternity, and Darren Korb and Ashley Barret doing that thing they do Again (which is "being amazing"), you'll once again not be disappointed.

Honestly, in some ways, Transistor's art gets to shine in a particularly unique way compared to other Supergiant games. This is because of the clear art noveau influence that you see everywhere from the lovely posters depicting the protagonist, to the delicate and intricately crafted backdrops you traverse to, to a couple of interesting places. For those who know: breaking something's heart gets to be particularly stunning because of this.

And this also works out really great as a contrast to your enemies. The Process really stand out starkly in contrast, with their monochrome white/red color scheme and hard lines that encroach upon all of this gorgeous scenery. This does something good on a technical level, because you will be able to near instantly pick out your enemies in a stage. However, it's also great on a storytelling level, as you get to see this invade everything that our protagonists clearly love.

As for the music, I'm not knowledgeable enough in this area to gush about it as it deserves. I just know that I really dig it, and it fits in with the setting perfectly. You're not going to find a lot of the more.... classical? hard? rock that you will find in Bastion and the Hades series, I will say that. However, much like the setting is a mixture of art noveau and interesting scifi, the music also manages to be the perfect reflection to that. (You can still hear a bit of rock influence however, in songs like Old Friends.)

Additionally, having the protagonist you control being a singer, whose songs come up regularly and who can hum along to the background music, is a fun little detail. Does it add anything? On a technical level, no, but it heightened my enjoyment, so I think it is a good addition.

It goes without saying that the story is excellent, and that all the prior qualities before really enhance it. A lot could be said on the philosophy behind the game, what the antagonists are arguing for, what the setting tells you, and the ending, but I think that is something people should play through and figure out for themselves.

However, even without going into that, I can say that the game does the best thing any story can do: it gets you incredibly invested in the protagonists, Red and the man in the Transistor ("Blue" to keep things short).

Which is a little bit of a feat. There's a joke/headcanon in certain online communities that portrays some silent protagonists (see: Link from Legend of Zelda) as mute, but we know in most cases that's not actually confirmed. That's not the case in Transistor. Red really CAN'T speak; her voice being robbed from her is one of the things that sets off the story.

Yet there's never any doubt that Red is her own person, with her own personality, who is reacting to things - even before you get into stuff like reading the optional file on her that comes with you using Crash() in all its capabilities. You see her in a flashback, holding onto herself, rattled by what has just happened. You see her blatantly ignoring Blue's directions that would have them "skip town", instead charging right back to confront the antagonists instead of running away. There's teasing little smirks she gives to Blue when she has to leave him outside a restroom. You really get a feeling for her, so long as you're paying attention.

Additionally, even if Red is silent, the good news is that Blue in contrast never shuts up - potentially because, without a body, talking to Red is really all he can do. So through him, you get context for so much: who the Camarata are, what's considered the norm in Cloudbank, and even the kind of person that Red is.

And through both of them.... You really get a sense for how much these two love each other, so much. The way Red holds onto the Transistor with a desperate longing, whether when humming or during so many little cutscenes. The way Blue is so violently protective of her, raging at the Camarata for targeting her.

They love each other. And, through that, you quickly grow to love them both in turn.

Finally, the combat system. It is quite different from any of the other games that Supergiant has put out before - but that's generally the norm, honestly, with how committed they are to doing A First (tm) for each of their games. Bastion is different from Transistor is different from Pyre. However, I do find it to be a very interesting system. It kind of mixes in a sort of... turn-based planning to it, while also making the player have to deal with real-time battle while often not having access to your battle abilities. It really makes you have to think carefully about your movements, and what you are bringing with you to each battle.

However, while I did say that this is nothing like Hades way of playing... I will say, for those who liked how different weapon/upgrade/boon combos could make something new, they might like the Transistor way of playing for that. Three things contribute to the battle system for Transistor:
1. An active slot (Switch() makes an enemy flip to your defense)
2. A secondary slot (Switch() on, say, Cull() makes it so that anything too tough for you to one shot goes to your side)
3. A passive slot (Switch() makes you a small bonus friend when you collect the remains of enemies)

So fiddling around with how everything influences everything else can be a really fun part of the game for those who are into that aspect. I do thing that it was likely one of the building blocks for how things would interact in the Hades franchise, and I think that's neat.

Он скомканный, персонажи не раскрываются за одно прохождение, да и их описание написано на непонятном языке русскими буквами. Постоянно бубнящий меч, даже во время боев, очень раздражал и отвлекал, из за чего случалась перезагрузка способности и сокращения моих нервных клеток. Главная героиня, как персонаж, понравилась: наверное потому, что всю игру ничего не говорит, а только очень красиво напевает. Я был очень рад концовке игры: во первых - тем, что она наконец настала; во вторых - в ней присутствует драматургия), меланхоличная музыка и опять же красивая обертка.

Безрадостный игровой процесс, можно и так его обозвать! Поначалу, мне очень понравилась механика прокачки и комбинации приемов. Я даже загорелся мыслями: какие комбинации приемов буду подбирать в дальнейшем, чтобы быть эффективнее. Но по мере прохождения понял, что смысла в них большого нет: потому что привыкаешь играть приемами, которые тебе сунули в первой половине игры. Во время боев ловил себя на мысли, что не хватает обыкновенной тактической паузы без потери очков хода, чтобы можно было спокойно, без суеты спланировать свои действия. Без неё каждое сражение проходит стремительно. Ты не успеваешь сообразить, как действовать, а тебе уже надавали "по шапке", да еще и забрали комбинацию удара, которую ты с десяток минут до этого выстраивал - это деморализует!

Я игру прошел часов за 10. Смотрел прохождения на ютубе, ребята ее проходят за 4 часа примерно... Видимо я пытался играть в тактику, а нужно было просто одну-две кнопки нажимать? Не знаю... Рекомендовать игру не буду. Слишком она унылая и нервотрёпная. Берегите себя!

This is definitely a vibe-driven sort of game. It was challenging enough and the artwork in the scenes was the highlight, it was very well done. él Al comprar este juego no tenía tan altas expectativas de él ya que el gameplay no me convencia al verlo en vídeos, lo compre principalmente por ser el juego mas interesante de esta desarrolladora después de Hades y puedo decir que a pesar de solo haber hecho una sola run del juego me conmovio profundamente, su arte visual es hermoso y la música es impresionante, el final me hizo llorar y al dominar la mecánica de juego este se vuelve muy entetenido y estrategico, le doy un 20/10 es pecialmente por el final.

Story: not bad. Music: pretty good to me. Combat: hard to judge, but I don’t hate it. Mostly I just want to say thank you for this beautiful journey. (I ended up buying another game from this studio afterward.)

i won't say that this game is devoid of flaws. the bulk of the story has to be uncovered manually in function descriptions, which isn't the most immediately intuitive way to go about it. there are questions that go unanswered - partly, I suppose, because we see the world from the very limited perspective of a guy in a sword who simultaneously has lived in this world all his life and knows very little about the underlying machinations of the antagonists. it would make no narrative sense either for him to explain in depth how cloudbank works, or for him to divulge the motivations of the camerata. the game relies heavily on implication to convey lore, which it does well but which I understand can be frustrating to those wanting clear answers.

that said, this game has fully burrowed its way into my brain. everything from the atmosphere to the dynamic of the two protagonists to the somber, haunting 'we are alone at the end of the world' feeling of this game presses on all the right buttons in my cerebrum. my feeling is you will either love this game or find it meh, depending on your particular brain chemistry. for me, i'm so glad i picked it up and I recommend that everyone at least try glancing at a playthrough, just to see if it's something that might appeal to you.

the music is gorgeous, and i've been looping first 'paper boats' and then 'in circles' for a couple of days. 10/10 game I love doomed romance.

Best of the game: function(skill) combination.
Other than that? Lovely art style, love how the story unfolds with appropriate details(unlike most of the jrpgs explain plain text in even more pale words again and again), proper music. Everything is right on my sweet point.

I played this game a decade ago on the PS4, and platinum'd it then. It's an an audio visual masterpiece that I thoroughly enjoyed playing. I just gave it another whirl for an hour, and the gameplay still holds up. The soundtrack is sublime. One of the best ever.

Visually stimulating. Mechanically boring.

PROS:
-Some of the best use of color ever
-Good voice acting

NEUTRAL:
-Short.
-No collectibles
-Some moves don't seem to do anything
-Terminals don't have a purpose

CONS:
-No reason to explore anywhere because there is nothing to find.
-Gameplay / mechanics appear deep but are quite shallow and poorly implemented. The gameplay consists of you activating a "time stop" mode where you rapidly deal damage, then running around with your abilities disabled trying not to get hit (its impossible in some instances) until the timer resets and you can do another time stop.
-They tried to repeat Bastion's storytelling style, but it really doesn't work for this story.
-The Sword talks way too much but says nothing of value or lore
-On my gaming handheld, the game detected the controllers, but only for certain abilities. For other abilities, I had to use the touchscreen.

My only critique is that UI isn't quite as QoL-complete/polished as Hades and Pyre, particularly the functions screen for how I was interacting with.

Great art, nice story
Enjoyed the actual semi combat turn based mechanics a lot.
We do need more context on there world and it would be great to have a sequel to this.
The magic here is how the art, gameplay, story and world building all collide.

This game already has 10+ years behind it, yet the good and the bad hasn't really changed. I personally bought this game thinking it would help me like this kind of gameplay and gamestyle, but unfortunately it didn't. I'm just not that kind of gamer, but I wanted to at least complete Transistor.

The good:
- Gorgeous art-style and visuals.
- Pretty chill and enjoyable OST.
- Mute MC because of a proper reason.
- Made by same devs of Bastion and Hades.
- Good guides out there to help the clumsy gamers like me.
- HP depletion might happen fast with certain enemies but 'dying' is forgiving.
- Attacks customization allows for a lot of creativity, and allows user to search for a personal fighting style.

The bad:
- Aiming attacks feels clunky, and not being able to attack after using Turn is downright infuriating. Also no dash out of combat makes me rage quit exploring at times.
- Story is told through another person in the most confusing way. Also my man just can't stop talking, it gets annoying fast.
- You are expected to go through trials that get increasingly irritating/tiresome. Not fun.
- You can die easily if you 'abuse' or 'barely use' the time-stop mechanic.
- There are missables, which nowadays it doesn't make sense to have in videogames. Not being allowed to backtrack to check other areas is the most frustrating thing. It's just beyond me why is designed like that.
- Not a friendly 100% achievement game, requires two runs.

Basically buy and enjoy this game if it's really your type of gameplay, or if you have played stuff like Hollow Knights, Dead Cells, or even Cult of the lamb.
