I gave it a yes because of how Epic this was when it first came out. Its all we talked about in the back of the class. Lets leave it for what it was back then. It doesnt pull its weight in todays world but in its day it was the greatest!!!
I tried to like it. I really did. I know that I used to like this game in the past. But it has been too long, and the limitations that constrained this game is too obvious. It is not fun to play. And campaign objectives are really not clear.
Play Red Alert 2 or Command and Conquer 3 instead, those are better.

je recommande les autres jeu de la serie qui sont plus jeune et raffinés, ou encore les remaster qui corrige le vieu system
1995. Defined everything. Brutally difficult at times even 30+ years later. Still a masterpiece, still forces you to think. Some missions require speed, some require slow methodical siege tactics. Also, wonderfully dark setting.
Note: there are bugs EA still hasnt fixed. Check out Nyergud's patches. Chill dude, too.

Command & Conquer™ and The Covert Operations™ sigue siendo una clase de ETR con aroma a pólvora vieja: divertido, demandante y con ese diseño que no te pregunta si estás listo. Si te gusta la Estrategia con Acción real (de la que ocurre por decisiones y ejecución, no por cinemáticas), aquí hay horas de campaña y misiones para probar tu paciencia.
Eso sí: la comunidad en este momento (18 jugadores) se siente como un club privado de gente que ya sabe lo que hace, y las 374 recomendaciones totales indican que el juego tiene reputación… pero no está de moda. Si buscas algo con validación moderna (logros, grandes extras sociales), esto te va a mirar con cara de “¿y eso qué?” y seguirá construyendo su base.

AI is kinda dumb unless you know shortcut commands, and even then... Whew.

说实话我实在后悔最近几年入坑RTS选命令与征服1当入坑作。
由于年代久远，几乎没有的关卡设计，愚蠢的寻路，电脑各种作弊等等问题折磨了好长时间。什么叫原版难度是重置版最高难度的含金量啊？（战术后仰）
剧情其实没啥好说的，虽然恶搞风格+真人演义的叙述形式很有新意，但剧本本身其实挺平淡的。到了资料篇以及那些主机新增关卡以后更是只有简报里的文字来告诉你这关要做些什么了，就算有过场也全是本体的素材复用。
而且我不喜欢剧情分支的设计，还得自己存档一个一个选我真的嫌麻烦，还是更喜欢一关一关连续着玩。
我玩到的一些关卡设计，包括但不限于无限资源的电脑，电脑的载具能完美压过我所有的士兵而我的载具则永远被电脑的士兵灵活走位放风筝，前期被电脑暴几十个兵直接推家，无限被电脑扔核弹，矿车一出家门就被电脑的装甲部队招呼，基本上矿全在电脑家里，电脑在旁边都没有它家建筑的地方无限造已经被炸掉的炮塔（最后还是我从家里一个一个造沙袋覆盖过去才解决的）。这些问题真的折磨死人了，每次遇到这种不合理的游戏设计就感觉脑袋发昏......
游戏平衡方面基本上如果nod方没有无限核弹的话，是gdi更强一些，只有有机会一直造猛犸坦克的话基本就赢了。
而nod这边则因为大多数时候会被gdi这边用离子炮恶心，需要靠隐形车找到gdi高级指挥中心然后用核弹去炸，高级指挥中心一般电脑是不会再造的。nod主要靠石碑来守家，基本上只要对面没了离子炮就能造一堆轻型坦克冲gdi的基地了。
前前后后玩了两年才把这游戏玩完，真的玩得太心累了。听说红警1原版难度也很逆天，我还是先放一放玩玩别的好了。
目前玩的几大rts：cnc1，红警2，铁锈战争，星际1，帝国1，帝国2等等......个人玩下来感觉还是帝国2比较符合我心意，理解游戏的机制后节奏放慢也能玩得很舒服。但听说决定版新增的战役难度也很逆天......我觉得RTS游戏的战役应该避免这种不公平的让人产生强烈挫败感的设计才对。打不过开挂的电脑就觉得被设计者恶心，就算打过了更多产生的也只是疲惫......
建议如果真想玩命令与征服1和红警1，去玩隔壁的重置版然后选最低难度。

To me this game is the mother of real time strategy games and i love it. But this version of the game crashes on start up. Even when i tried fixes like run in windowed mode it ran for sometime and crashed. I don't think it is windows 11 friendly.

From a beloved game to a scam, this game wont even load to the first mission, just shows a black screen.
I fear the same will be for other C&C Games within the ultimate collection pack that also cant be played. pending on how many games play and don't I will be requesting a refund.
If games cant be played because they are too old then steam should not allow them on the store unless they give these away for free and warn gamers of aging games may not work on newer systems.
Gamers may have better luck with the remastered versions and forget about the standard ones

Un juego como Dios manda, un juego que te cuenta una historia. Hoy en día es: "No sé quién soy, no sé qué hago aquí, solo sé que tengo que matar." ¡Pues no! Este juego te muestra quién eres, qué haces aquí y por qué tienes que matar. Te muestra vídeos y animaciones antes y después de cada batalla y te mete en la historia. Un juego donde hay que hacer estrategia, no solamente es matar a mansalva. Este juego te dice: "Piensa, eres listo, tú puedes", en vez de: "Borrego, dispara como un pendejo." Toda una obra maestra, no apta para los robots que consumen dopamina en TikTok, una obra hecha para personas que no son NPCs.

그런데 수틀리면 수시로 튕겨댄다... 정말 미치도록 튕겨댄다...
겨우 연합군 엔딩을봤다.
튕기는것도 튕기는거지만 인공지능이 육두문자 나오도록한다.
일부러 길을꼬아서 가도록 만들어놨는지 하베스터는 지꼴리는대로 멋대로 다닌다.
수십번씩 하베스터를 수동 컨트롤 해야 한다.
진짜 빌런 팀을 할 엄두 자체가 나질않는다...
그냥 바로 레드 얼럿으로 넘어갑니다.
몇판해봤는데 조금 나아지긴했지만 아직 부족한 인공지능 튕김은 아직 겪지못했습니다.
그래도 레드얼럿이 플레이 하기 훨씬 좋습니다.
그래도 무엇보다 가격이 깡패라 추천할수밖에 없네요.

Bu oyuna çocukluğumun oyunu falan da diyemiyorum benden de eski. Ben daha çok red alert 2 ile seriye başlamıştım.
Zİbilyon strateji oynamışımdır ama bu saçımı başımı yolduran cinsten çıktı.
Mutlak dezavantajlı şekilde başladığım haritalarda kendimi geliştirmek zorunda kaldım. Bu süreçte de harika küfürler ürettim.
Örn: GDI oynarken tüm rakip hava savunma sistemini patlatman gerekiyor bombardımanın açılması için. Ben bu bilgiyle Nod yani diğer faction'la oynarken hava savunma sistemi inşa ettim. Böylece aklımca bombardıman almayacaktım. Oyun belli bir süre sonra 1 değil 2 tane bombardıman indirdi başıma üstüne bunlar belli bir sürede tekrarlanıyordu.
Yani adil olmamanın uçlarını yaşatıyor oyun size, bir şekilde adapte olup kendinizi geliştirmeniz gerekiyor. Birimler aşırı yavaş ilerlerken yapacağınız mikrolar çok önem kazanıyor. Ayrıca oyundaki tüm birimlerin bir amacı var ve hepsini kullanıyorsunuz. Hiçbiri boş değil. Her haritada farklı bir strateji üretmeniz gerekebiliyor.
Haritalar özenle severek tasarlanmış yani. Eski bir oyun olduğu için bazı açıkları bulup bunları avantajınıza da çevirebiliyorsunuz.

Just finished GDI missions. There was two missions where the game crashes at certain point all the time. So save much as possible, then it's avoidable. The game is still very fun!
Впервые запустив игру, прочувствовал всю атмосферу самой первой игры серии. Оказалась она по-своему хардкорна, особо без баланса и удобств интерфейса. Учитывая, что никогда раньше в неё не играл, показалась душной.

I laughed. I cried. It's the feel good game of the year. It became a part of me. Something the whole family can play. Two thumbs up.
This game is great, but I just can't recommend this version. If you want to buy RA2 or TibSun or any of the other games, you'll be receiving this 'for free'. I say 'for free' as this version is far from the best way to play it in the 21st century and thus you most likely won't play it that much. Check out C&C Remastered instead, it has some sorely-needed QoL features, and updated graphics. (It still has the same level of difficulty and some of the bugs are still present, allowing for an approachable, but authentic experience).
Not to slight this game, if you really want to play it, obvious flaws aside, it's still a great game, with a great story, and some awesome music. It paved the way for some of the best RTS games of all time (Hell, it IS one of the best RTS games of all time), so I do recommend playing it in one form or another. OpenRA is a great alternative to CnC:R.
I just wouldn't play this version, as foot soldiers and vehicle units are a bit hard to tell apart, and the music selection is great, but sadly limited, which is a shame for how many ass-kicking songs there are in the OST. You can't queue units either, which is probably the most glaring flaw from a modern perspective.
Still, it's a great game when played to your liking, and if you want a classic C&C experience without using a remaster, I can wholeheartedly recommend Red Alert 1 in it's original state. Unit readability is far better and missions are generally more open-ended.

Das Spiel ist viel zu unmöglich kreirrt, auf Basis der Kampagnen Missionen.. macht echt gar keinen Spaß.. Bei manchen Aufträgen ist man so hoffnungslos unterlegen, dass selbst nach 20 Versuchen und mehr, keine Chance besteht weiter zukommen..
Ich weiß das ältere Spiele schwerer sind, aber das ist ja lächerlich... wie soll man denn die NOD Kampagne schaffen?? voll sinnlos

Like any half-assed port of a DOS title, after all these years the original C&C still crashes at random.
Really fun. Maybe a bit too easy at times but its super cool to see how much effort they put in the cutscenes.
This game is clerly not asapted to the new operating system.In the GDI 6A mission it always freezes if you get upper left corner with a solider
Hach ja, die alten Zeiten des Gamings ❤️ die Spiele früher waren einfach besser und nicht von der Stange wie der meiste Krempel heutzutage, die meisten Spiele die heutzutage erscheinen spielt man ein paar Stunden (wenn überhaupt) danach nicht wieder, gibt nur wenige die man wieder spielt aber die von damals, die spielt man komischerweise immer wieder, auch nach 20-30 Jahren und länger noch.
Das alleine zeigt, das Spiele von damals mehr Spaß machen als die von heute, sicherlich nicht jedes aber viele.
C & C ist eines davon ❤️😊

Really good original RTS game. It is worth noting, the AI is from the 1990s so unit jankyness is kinda there when ordering your people. This game is before que lists in modern RTS games meaning you can only train one unit at a time, but don't let that deter you! This is at its core a really fun game with a pretty cool soundtrack to jam out to while your fielding your tanks and what-nots. In all honesty, though aged, it's still a really fun play if you like strategy games. DO NOTE: THEY HAVE REMASTERED THIS GAME. THE REMASTER IF I"M NOT MISTAKEN FIXES ALOT OF THE AFOREMENTIONED DRAWBACKS AND GIVES THE GAME A FRESH COTE OF PAINT. Still despite that if you get it in a bundle deal, you can't beat the classics because without them, we wouldn't have the games we have today

Unless this is the first Command and Conquer game you've ever played, don't play this. I played the newer versions first then played this game. Its very very slowed paced compared to the newer series but I'm sure it was fast at the time. They deff improved a lot though! It's a fun game but very slow! I played it because I wanted to play every game in chronological order lol
Un juego con buena complejidad y de una historia que entretiene por días. Recomendado para los que les gusta la estrategia.
Estamos ante una joya de los RTS, el mitico C&C con su expansion Covert Operations.
El juego tiene unas 15 misiones aprox de GDI y 15 de NOD mas unas 26 de los Covert Operations (estan las de todas las consolas porteadas).
Entretiene brutalmente de principio a fin, muchas horas de contenido, Solo las del C&C original tienen cinematicas (buenisimas para la epoca), las Covert no. (hay cambio tambien estetico) pero realmente fue un juego que marco epoca, toda la Saga de hecho.
PD: Una cosa que siempre me parecio increible, es el hecho de que varias misiones tienen mas de 1 mapa, incluso algunas tienen hasta 3 mapas distintos para jugarlas. Realmente es un gran detalle y muy copado.
Si bien los graficos y los controles son algo pobres para 2025 hay que recordar que el juego tiene casi 30 años, pero se la banca bastante bien.
Claramente que son algo repetitivas las misiones y pueden ser hasta un poco aburridas, pero la progresion de la historia y el buen diseño de mapas masomenos hace llevaderas esas cosas.
Recuerdo haberlo jugado decenas de horas cuando recien habia salido, Envejecio bien aunque con sus desgastes
9.5/10 - Gran clasico, una pena que no tenga Logros ni CROMOS y se vende solo en el PACK, no por separado
was good years ago. c&c became what it is thanks to this game. game however aged poorly. awful pathfinding, and very outdated and fustrating for somone that has adapted to more modern RTGs like generals or Red alert 2 and 3.
They've come so far, it's really not worth playing unless your love is stronger than the crashes.

Messlatte liegt schon deutlich höher als das was hier geboten wird, leider. Spiele es aber aus neugier und Nostalgie mal durch.
Ich habe das Spiel schon mehrfach durchgespielt und es macht immer noch sehr viel Spaß!

This is an old game, easy, but a bit slow paced.
Bekommt man ohne Zusatzinstallationen nicht zum Laufen, hängt sich oft auf und stürzt ab. Sowas zu veröffentlichen ist echt eine Frechheit.
Je recommande pour le monument qu'est se jeu mais malheureusement c'est trop vieux pour moi, je n'arrive pas a accrocher, c'est lent , pas très beau et les fonctionnalités de gameplay mettent trop de temps a arriver
