On tourne vite en rond pas d'interet, aucune stratégie. En 30 min t'as finalement fait le tour du jeu.

Але чим довше я грав, тим більше бачив: ця гра — не про глибину, а про спрощену, але доступну форму стратегічного мислення.

1. Атмосфера епохи
Вибір історичного періоду справді вдалий. Я керував імперією, намагаючись завоювати території, будувати війська, шпигувати та вести дипломатичні маневри. Це створює приємне відчуття глобальної гри — ніби ти справді змагаєшся з іншими великими силами за планету.
2. Простота і зрозумілість
Механіки елементарні, але в цьому і перевага. Гра не змушує вчитись тижнями, як складні 4X-стратегії. Я швидко розібрався у фазах — де будувати, де рухатись, коли атакувати. Це дозволяє зосередитись не на мікроменеджменті, а на стратегічному плануванні.
3. Варіативність сценаріїв
Різні стартові сценарії дають свободу: можна почати в 1880 році, коли імперії тільки формуються, або у 1914-му, коли все на межі світової війни. Я спробував кілька варіантів — кожен відчувався трохи інакше. Це підвищує реіграбельність і стимулює експериментувати.

4. Технічна недосконалість
Під час гри я кілька разів стикався з дрібними збоями — не критичними, але неприємними. Додайте до цього відсутність глибокої оптимізації — і стає зрозуміло, що проєкт потребував трохи більше полірування перед релізом.

I wish I could recommend Colonial Conquest even for its budget price, but I truly cannot. This strategy game has many flaws that cannot be glanced over, both technical as well as design issues. The game oversimplifies history and geography to an extreme; all regions that have access to the sea can be reached in one turn no matter where the player’s fleet is. The AI is very inactive, meaning it is far too easy to invade the world undisturbed by the other great powers. There are some good ideas and it is playable, but the title needs many improvements.

Es increible el peso que tiene juego y lo mal implementado que está. En alguna crítica ya se ha comentado que con lo simple que es el juego parece sospechoso que ocupe tanto espacio en el disco duro. A todo ello se puede añadir que ejecutar cada orden requiere varios clicks del ratón lo que convierte al juego en algo insufriblemente lento y desesperante. No vale ni el dinero de un café. Devs este café corre de mi cuenta y es el último que os pago. Desinstalado.
A game we burned many hours in the late 80s (together with friends vs computer - vs each other or solo vs hard KIs).
The "Multiplayer" was like: One player sitting at the Computer and the monitor was turned away from the rest that was sitting on the couch, talking, eating or watching movies and mabye even making plans to raid the one that is just placeing the movement orders for his troops. It was allways fun to see the combat phase where all orders collided. :)
It is no 1:1 port from the ATARI ST game, but was close enough to have fun playing it for some evenings.
Gets a thumbs up from me cause i loved the original ATARI ST game, but will most likely be too dated for later generations ;)
The game has extremely little challenge with a very basic gameplay loop where you rapidly start to steamroll everyone else. If you're looking for a strategic game about the time period around Scramble for Africa and such the game series Victoria by Paradox is a better one, even with 3 being controversial.
Good strategy game, if you are into that sort of game.

Colonial Conquest не стоит воспринимать как Стратегию, это... Настолка.
Простая пошаговая игра с десятком возможных действий, возможностью играть как в онлайн-коопе, так на одном устройстве.
В этой игре весьма понятное интуитивное управление. Обучения в ней нет, только скромные подсказки в процессе игры.
Оценка: 65/100
Подитог: Игра на любителя, и как по мне чисто для коопа. Партии и возможные действия настолько просты, что... В одиночку вы долго не просидите. Только при наличии интересной компании вы можете скоротать время в этой простой и лёгкой игре.
P.S. В соло/одиночку играть не рекомендую. Игра быстро надоест.

(May be a bit of easy to learn hart to master. The pictures were promising for me)
But the game really has no strategic depth at all!
It is just like Risk.
And here is nothing addictive about it.
You only produce on mass units.
You can actually attack anywhere
No unit variations.
No naval battles.
No diplomacy
No buildings (you can only build a fortress once)

Demasiado simple. Aburre muy pronto. Solo tienes que hacer barcos, tropas y luchar por territorios, tipo Risk, Nada de economía de recursos. Ni siembras ni recoges, ni minas ni leñadores, nada de nada.
I am sorry to say that this game feels like something rushed during a lunchbreak. I love the idea of a RISK based game in various time ages. But you dont get your moneys worth with this game:
(1). There is only one map
(2). There isnt much graphics in the game, just a map that should not need more than 3-5 MB.
(3). There are just some recorded crash-boom-bang sounds (shouldnt need many MB).
(4). The mechanics of the game (battles etc) is extremely simple (shouldnt require more than 3-5 MB really)
(5). The game require 550 MB of harddrive for no reason (it should be no more than 20 MB for what you get).
(5). Instead of wasting 530 MB on God knows what, there should have been more maps and fractions available for different kinds of Wars during history (f.e. Napoleon, American Civil War, The Swedish Great Power Era, World War 2, Battles of Middleeast etc). To offer just One map was offensive, and using the same map for three different eras is just lazy.
How can this game, that just feels like a simple boardgame with very limited (if any) finesse, require 550 MB on your harddrive????? This should be nothing more than a 20 MB game at top. The programming must be extremely lazy.
Even though I love the idea of the game, the execution of it fails completely in my opinion. I have given it a fair 6 hour try, and even though I feel it should have potential (cause the idea is really good) it feels like a very early access version of a game. There are to much missing to get a thumbs up on the game at present state.

Excellent comme la version atari st de l'époque, très bon jeux de stratégie.
On ne peut pas dire que le jeu soit mauvais, au contraire, il est vraiment sympa. Le jeu est extrêmement facile à prendre en main mais tout aussi facile à gagner. Aucune difficulté dedans ce qui fait perdre un peu tout son sens à l'utilité. Le système est très répétitif sans profondeur, malheureusement la durée de vie est très courte. Content d'y avoir joué mais je sais qu'avec tous les succès, je n'y toucherais plus jamais. Un Multijoueur pourrait compenser le côté plat du jeu

Pros: Very similar to the original. Can get lost in the quick turns.
Cons: Computer cheats - The more fortifications you have the more chance you will lose 1. Uprisings that will kill an entire territory no matter how many troops are there. Got a few hundred there eh? Poof. Computers only attacking you even when you aren't in 1st. All you have to do is look at the map for proof.
Glitches - My move is invisible and can't be undone because of it. Game breaker! Or prepare to save multiple times every few years because even the saves can become glitched.

Bei Colonial Conquest (CC) handelt es sich um ein [b]Remake des gleichnamigen Klassikers[/b] aus dem Hause SSI aus dem Jahre 1985 für den C64, Atari XL/E & Apple II, bevor 1987 die Umsetzung für den Atari ST & 1989 für den NEC-PC folgte. Das CC-Remake für den PC ist aus meiner Sicht gut gelungen. Auch wenn die PC-KI nicht ganz mit den 8-Bit-Vorbildern mithalten kann, bietet das neue CC seine Reize. Alte Hasen werden sicherlich in längst vergangene Zeiten versetzt, dafür ist das Remake in allen Punkten recht identisch umgesetzt. Die Grafik wirkt altbacken, ist aber um einiges besser, als die verstaubten 8-Bit-Ausgaben & wurde im Remake grafisch dem damaligen Zeitgeschehen angepasst. Der Sound ist Klasse & bietet für jede Nation unterschiedliche Soundsettings. Wer Spaß mit rundenbasierten Globalkriegsspielen & Interesse an der Menschheitsepoche ab 1880 & am ersten Weltkrieg hegt, nicht allzu hohe Ansprüche hat, der liegt mit CC richtig. Von daher meine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung, natürlich im Sale für €5 abzustauben!

For those who are infatuated with turn-based games based on historical context, then you may get some enjoyment out of this game. I find myself to be a person who can fall into this category and while I did enjoy this game for the first hour or so, I found it to be incredibly tedious and the historical context to become (obviously) diluted as the game is meant for each playthrough to be different, thus ensuring complete historical accuracy to be impossible. Which is fine because going about an event in time differently is fun; however, the gameplay becomes stale very quick. There is no point in doing half of the mechanics and it takes a long long time to conquer other "players" (AI) because they somehow stockpile tremendous amount of troops.
If this game is less or equal to $10, I would see it as a fair purchase (assuming the above is understood) as I had a couple playthroughs before I was completely bored. Overall, I cannot recommend this game because of the overall lack of depth to the gameplay, specifically the lack of strategy (If you play, you will understand).

Colonial Conquest è un gioco curiosamente capace di rapirci e di farci spendere ore ed ore senza rendercene conto mentre pianifichiamo le nostre mosse. Le sue carenze vengono compensate con un ritmo frenetico, con una tensione latente e con la costante insicurezza che la mossa che stiamo facendo sia quella corretta. E’ un buon titolo strategico se vogliamo rilassare la mente fra qualche titolo più impegnativo e l’altro. Se solo gli sviluppatori non avessero esaurito i fondi e le vendite non fossero state così scarse molto probabilmente oggi i bug sarebbero stati risolti; ma Colonial Conquest è più che giocabile anche così.

Votre but sera bien évidemment de dominer le monde et donc d'imposer votre hégémonie (militaire et économique) à vos adversaires.
Bien qu'étant globalement divertissant, ce titre se révèle assez vite répétitif et bien trop simpliste, ce qui est quand même plutôt dommage. Essayez-le si vous cherchez un petit jeu de stratégie qui vous occupera quelques heures mais n'en attendez ni réalisme ni profondeur sous peine d'être fortement déçu.

To those of you unaware this was one of the very first grand strategy games from the 80's. It was way ahead of its time. I played the hell out of it on the C64 as a kid. This remake leaves a lot to be desired but scratches the basic itch of wanting to play it again.
Too flat and boring a game, I thought I would like this kind of things, but its basically just a little more complicated than Risk. Its not as good as Axis & Allies for example, and I needed this to be a bit more engaging.

Colonial Conquest is a mobile ported attempt at a grand strategy game set in the colonial period of world history and running through to the great war. The game is very simplistic despite attempting to be a grand strategy.
On the basic merits, graphics are quite poor, while the art is okay the game fails to take advantage of any of the benefits of the PC because it's a mobile game, and mobile games are universally awful. Gameplay is extremely shallow and it becomes evident quickly that this is a deliberate attempt to make a crappy mobile game look better than it is.
Also, the developers send a big "screw you" to PC gamers by expecting you to pay $10 USD for this when it's $4 on iPad. Developers must learn that PC gamers are not sheep like mobile gamers and aren't going to tolerate greedy scumbag price gouging, and absolutely will not pay more for inferior products like mobile games.

Paid $2.99 for the game and not worth that much. Just bad. Somebody else said, it's like playing Risk, only without knowing the other side's forces. That's a good description. Don't waste your money.

very fun and easy to learn to play. You can play a full game pretty quick depending on settings but in easy and all countries playing it goes pretty fast and is a lot of fun to play. A whole lot better than the original that was for the Apple IIe and IIGS.
More involved than Risk, but found the UI to be unresponsive and/or unintuitive.

Copy of Classic SSI Colonial Conquest. Does not play like the original. The Computer plays with the knowledge of your numbers & can overwhelm superior forces as if Defense doesn't count, basically ruining the end-game. The Land movements always shows 1 less than the territory holds, then subtracts 1 from the movement command. Faulty programming logic.

Eigentlich möchte ich ja dieses Spiel schon lieben, da mich komplexe Globalstrategie eher abschreckt und das Spiel hier sehr simpel gehalten ist. Einfach Truppen bauen und verschieben und gut ist. Allerdings ist die KI nicht wirklich gut und es hat auch so seine Fehler, was ich bei diesen Spiel nicht ganz nachvollziehen kann. Außerdem ist mir völlig unverständlich, warum dieses Spiel keinen Mehrspielerteil hat, obwohl es sich gerade zu anbietet.
Buen juego de estrategia. Un tanto simple en cuanto altertantivas pero funciona casi como un arcade. Debe tenerse presente algunos elementos para tomar decisiones sobr invasion a territorios. 7/10

Плюс конечно у игры есть нормальный перевод и это не может не радовать.
Так что любителям стратегий, которым надоели однообразные игры - крайне рекомендую

Tons of fun for hours to come, ignore my game hours, most of what I've played was a mobile device before I noticed it on Steam.
If you like Risk, you'll like this game...
Although it looked good at first, I do not recommend this game in current state, I didn't suffer crashes, but AI behaves odd, basically backstabbing for no reason in the first two years, making good expansion impossible. Troop quality seems to differ from old SSI version of the game, AI is worse than the SSI version. As we speak, there is only hotseat multiplayer available.
Unfortuantely, as much as I loved this game both when it first came out in '85, and this version, it has a critical and uncorrected bug at the moment. without being able to play the 1914 scenario, I have to say don't buy.
UPDATE: apparently with the recent update, the 1914 scenario now works. That correction makes the game a yes in my book then.
I like the game, it's incredibly simple and easy to pick up, and I just unload stress with it.
Nice little strategy game for a few hours of fun
Would have been nice if there was a way to quit the game. All I could manage to do was quit back to the menu no matter what I tried. Otherwise I might have enjoyed it.
Zdaniem Fidelio: Colonial Conquest jest niby podobny do Riska z 1985, ale...niestety jest słabo wykonany. Ciężko w ogóle w to grać. Do tego ma podejrzenie wirusa zaszytego w grę. Nie, dziękuję.

SteamにいくつかあるRISKインスパイア系ゲームのひとつ。つまりルールを極力抽象化・簡略化した、ウォーゲームというよりはカジュアル向けボードゲームに近いコンセプトの地図征服ゲームである。対AI戦のほか最大6人までのホットシート対戦も可能。
マップは一種類だけだが、1880年と1914年の国際情勢をテーマにしたシナリオ＋対人戦向けの平等配置シナリオの計3種が用意されている。特に歴史イベント等はないものの、フレーバーとしては悪くない。
グラフィックも綺麗だし、なかなかよくできている。ように見える。
…が、実際に遊んでみるとどうしてもゲームルールの欠陥に気付いてしまう。
このゲームには陸軍と海軍が存在し、陸軍は1ターンに1プロヴィンスだけ移動できるおなじみのシステムなのだが、なんと海軍を使った輸送には移動距離の制限がないのである。
しかも世界地図が舞台なので、（インドやアフリカ奥地のような少数の例外を除けば）ほとんどのプロヴィンスは海に面している。となるともはや前線という概念は意味を持たなくなり、あらゆる土地から土地へジャンプが発生するもぐらたたきと化す。
そのことを知らずにプレイすると、ウラルの向こうに閉じ込めたはずのロシア軍が毎ターンフィリピンやらガラパゴス諸島までテレポートしてくる、という謎現象に悩まされることになる（なおモスクワもシベリアも不凍港である）。
ちなみに後で知ったところによると、SSIがC64/Apple II向けに出した1985年の原作ゲームが存在していて、それを別の開発者がリメイクしたのがこの作品のようだ。100%忠実な移植というわけではないのだが、どうやら原作の欠点もそのまま引き継いでしまっているらしい。
どうプレイしても非合理的な展開になってしまうゲームなので奥は浅く、あまりおすすめできる内容ではない。

Schade dass das Spiel ohne Ende betrügt. Sonst wäre es ganz gut.
Kein Vergleich mit der alten C64er Fassung!
Es macht echt keinen Spaß wenn der Gegner nur noch eine "Provinz" hat und man diese nicht einnehmen kann (selbst auf Schwierigkeitsstufe "einfach") da dieser (aus welchen Gründen auch immer) mehr Truppennachschub bekommt als vom Einkommen her möglich ist.
Definitv keine Kaufempfehlung!
This is more of an advanced Risk like Board Game. It is simple to pick up and just start playing.
In the Description of the game it states that the game mechanics are very straight forward and simple.. The game delivered that.
If you are looking for a cheap game that is easy to play and resembles a board game like risk.. This is a perfect game. This is not an overly complicated game trying to simulate history and governments.. You place your armies and move them around the map, conquer or defend.
I found the game to be very amusing and satisfying.. I'm always on the lookout to enjoy a risk like game.. Many try and fail. But this one is not frustrating or very difficult. Image risk with someones own twerks and touches in it emulating a fixed starting position for european empires.
Un jeu qui sur Atari ST m'a volé des centaines d'heures sans doute. Tout simple, tout bête, il est ici adapté avec quelques musiques classiques en ambiance et une carte politique à peine moins basique avec quelques écrans donnant un air historique au fond. Le principal est qu'on s'amuse et que le temps passe très vite. Seul soucis en 2018, le jeu ne connaît pas les écrans 21/9 en 2560X1080 donc il tronque en haut et en bas même si on change de résolution sous W10. La solution consiste à le lancer depuis la biblio des jeux avec un doigt sur le CTRL gauche ce qui fait enfin apparaitre un launcher, dedans optez pour 1980x1080 par exemple pour avoir l'écran de jeu complet et l'accès à l'aide si besoin mais tout est intuitif. Bon jeu !

This is pretty much a straight port of one of my favourite games of all time, the 80s TBS Colonial Conquest. The GUI has been updated, and the map slightly redrawn, but the mechanics seem to be unchanged.
I think this is a terrible missed opportunity. The mechanics of the game could easily have been expanded on. In particular, it would have been good to allow more than 6 nations to be active participants rather than simply having every other territory in the world be neutral. It would I think have been good to remove, or at least have the option to turn off, the effect whereby if you attack the same neutral country as another player at the same time you find yourself at war with that player. It would have been good to add an online multiplayer mode. $10 is too much for this very lazy effort.
I am so mixed about this game. When Colonial Conquest first came out on the Commodore 64 (in 1985 - heyoo), it was incredible, to the extent that it remains one of my top games of all time. This version, sadly, pales in comparison. I want it to be good, but, apart from improved graphics (not 30 years' worth, mind you), it is inferior to the original. Which is a shame. Yes I have played a bunch of hours on it (did I mention that the original Colonial Conquest was one of my favourites?) ... but I cannot recommend this in good conscience. The random events are a joke.
It's mindless fun. Certainly worth $5.
Nędza nie warta dysku twardego. Trudno to nazwać strategią. Warcaby są sto razy bardziej skąplikowane. Jak ktoś grał kiedyś w karcianą grę "w wojnę", to Colonial Conquest" to prymitywna wersja tej gry karcianej. Rozgrywka w najdłuższej kampanii trwa 20 min po czym można spokojnie grę odinstalować.
Ein sehr nettes strategie spiel für zwischen durch welches durch seine Herrausforderungen und einem Hardcoremodus einen echten Schwierigkeitsgrad mackiert . Alles ist mit Marsch musik zum Thema passend unterlegt.
Allerdings würde ich dieses Spiel nicht für den Vollen Preis empfhelen aber ab 7 Euro wäre der Preis für die leistung Angemessen. =)
