The puzzles are fair, logical, and incredibly satisfying to solve — the kind of design that makes you feel smart without ever feeling stuck or frustrated.

An excellent puzzle game, but quite short. Original, clever while being "user-friendly" for the player (simple command, simple presentation, no hidden puzzle element, etc...).
While the concept of a world inside a world isn't a novel concept in video games, this is one of its most beautiful adaptation. Entering/exiting a world is both pleasing for the eyes and remarkably fluid. I think speed and rhythm can also be an important factor to appreciate the puzzle genre. Here, the character is moving fast and every interactions don't waste time. A new gameplay element is added at each new world (four world spheres in total). And to counter-balance the puzzle sections, a dose of action is added in the form of several bosses to defeat.
I really liked the animations (bosses, doors, mechanisms, ...) in this game. While the graphic style is simple, the uniqueness of this alien world can be mesmerizing.
The ending, as the rest of the game, is open to interpretation. It's not a bad thing, it underlines the strangeness of this alien bio-mechanical universe.
But sadly the game ended too soon, I wouldn't have minded two more world spheres. But at least, the last puzzles pushed the concept quite far: a world inside a world inside a world inside a world inside itself. It was really fun ^^

Matryoshka doll kind of puzzles with superb atmosphere and soundscape. Puzzles are perfectly balanced for a challenging enough yet still chill experience. [h2] Jeppe Carlsen es un genio, luego de trabajar como jefe de diseño de gameplay y niveles para Limbo e Inside en el estudio Playdead, se separa y crea su propio juego: Cocoon. [/h2]

¿Que puedo decir del juego sin dar muchos spoilers? Pues es como si Inception fuese un juego dibujado por Moebius y dirigido por Kubrick con puzzles [i]Mise en abyme[/i] tipo matrioska.

Cocoon es un juego mudo, sin texto, un sólo botón para todo y una obra maestra. Acompañado al toque pastel, uso de colores naranjos, turquesa, morados y sonidos de ciencia-ficción hacen de este juego una experiencia impecable con unas vibes que te vuelan la mente.

Si bien la complejidad del juego y los puzzles podría haber aumentado considerablemente llegando a late-game si se mezclaban mejor los distintos mundos con las respectivas habilidades de las esferas, me parece sensato considerando el argumento y largo del juego no haber extendido tanto las horas de gameplay.

If you've got an afternoon or two to kill, I recommend this game. The puzzles are interesting and the games mechanics allow for some truly lovely problems to solve and *aha* moments to have. Only (very minor) gripe is that there's a lot of walking back and forth between spots, but with this game its kinda how it would work out anyway, but other than that, lovely world, lovely music, and just a good overall vibe. And I finished it in under 5 1/2 hours.

TLDR: fun short puzzle game, worth the money and the two evenings I spent playing it.

打到后期，实在没有耐心通关了。
谜题机制和艺术设计很好，足够让我前期提起兴趣，但由于全程没有传统意义上的道具机制作为奖励驱动，随着后期谜题难度、排布密度和谜题条件的复杂度越来越高，绝景、剧情的占比减少，就算后面都是属于想明白了条件和机制就不难的解谜，也难免在长时间的“解谜的奖励是继续解谜”之后越玩越没劲。而且后期各种条件之间没必要的跑路太多，试错时也更烦。
必须吐槽的是后期的三次超绝目押射击：出现时点莫名其妙，和解谜、剧情都毫无关系；视角里靶子的运动轨道是椭圆形，而人在中央，且瞄准允许全向旋转（手柄），导致提前量的预判很容易错；机关长的一样却要搞不同的运动机制，初见还得试错；每个都分三小关，却要求两次命中之间限时，超时了就回第一小关重新打。这彻底磨掉了我最后的耐心。如果这里是三个小Boss，或者做一个boss的三个阶段，甚至直接删了，我都觉得比现在这样处理玩的有劲点。

Os trailers de Cocoon sempre me passaram muitas expectativas para um jogo de puzzle cabeçudo, por causa da mecânica de entrar nas esferas, que são na verdade outros mundos, mas que no fim não foram complicados.

Os puzzles de Cocoon são sim bem elaborados e simples, levando sempre direto ao ponto da resolução e não deixando muita dúvida ou brecha do que fazer para progredir.

Isso foi possível graças ao ótimo trabalho de level design, pois ele bloqueia todas as passagens irrelevantes para resolução do puzzle atual, o que evita ficar se perdendo a toa pelo mundo como ocorre em quase todo jogo de puzzle.

O jogo também se destaca bastante pela sua arte, que é diferenciada e bonita do começo ao fim.

Cocoon não trouxe algo novo e revolucionário à mesa, como achei que seria, mas é um ótimo jogo de puzzle.

Cocoon es un juego de puzles muy bien diseñado, que destaca por su claridad conceptual y por la forma en que enseña sus mecánicas únicamente a través del propio escenario y la experimentación del jugador. Su control sencillo y su ingeniosa mecánica de esferas permiten construir pruebas creativas que mantienen el interés durante casi toda la aventura.
El apartado artístico y sonoro refuerza mucho la experiencia, creando un mundo alienígena muy particular que transmite personalidad sin necesidad de diálogos ni textos. Aunque hacia el tramo final algunos puzles pueden resultar algo más confusos y romper ligeramente el ritmo, el conjunto sigue siendo una experiencia breve, original y muy estimulante para los aficionados al género.

Es una locura el diseño de niveles que tiene este juego. Está todo tan bien pensado que en todo momento te hacen sentir el control de la situación aunque no estés entendiendo todo del todo. Repito, el diseño de los puzzles y los niveles, que cada cosa esté puesta en donde está en el momento que tiene que estar ahí te vuela completamente la cabeza. Posiblemente sea el mejor juego de puzzles que existe ahora mismo en el mercado, se pelea mano a mano con obras maestras como la saga Portal. Totalmente recomendado y un MUST PLAY si te gustan los videojuegos como medio.

An absolute jewel of a game with just the right amount of challenge when it came to the puzzles. I appreciated the unique mechanic of nesting worlds within each other to level up the perplexity and how there were no instructions needed to figure out what had to happen to move forward. That's a huge plus in my book for game design. Throw in some more accolades for the gorgeous artwork, chill music, and overall atmosphere, and I'd call this a definite "recommend" among the titles I've played.

Highly reccomended. I'm not so into puzzle-focused games, but this really grabbed me.

The organic-tech artstyle is great and the audio is fantastic. You really get pulled into this world. I found the puzzle difficulty and pacing was tuned just perfectly for me.

This was a fantasic experience that lasted around 5 hours. The game just felt extrordinarily polished.

Really really cool game!
The mechanics and puzzles of this game are really unique and really fun to experience. None of them felt too hard to manage within a reasonable time frame, but they weren't exactly too easy either. Not very long; part of me wishes it kept going, but overall it was a reasonable length with what it had. Not really sure I fully understand the story itself, if there really is one, but it was still interesting.

The art style and aesthetics were [i]really[/i] well done and I love seeing games with this softer but beautiful art style. The way each area was nice color coded and even had separate thematic variation was really satisfying and I really appreciated it. The music was lovely but didn't specifically stick out to me either, which is fine. It didn't take away from the experience at all so nothing to complain about there.

Also, a huge thing I was baffled by once I thought about it later: there were no loading screens! I can't remember a single time in-game (not including the main menu) that it paused to load a new area. That made the experience really seamless and felt really good to play through in one sitting. Definitely something I thought worth calling out

Cocoon is a top-down puzzler from Jeppe Carlsen, the creator of Limbo and INSIDE. I actively dislike Limbo and INSIDE as I feel like both of those games, and the style of copycats they established, are little more than pretentious frauds, suggesting a lot through their minimalism without giving any real answers or even implying interesting ones like a failed attempt at a JJ Abrams Mystery Box. Cocoon, however, I found a lot more appealing by essentially eschewing any attempt at story. There's an opening cutscene and an ending cutscene. but neither gives the impression of anything more complex than just a bunch of cool visual ideas that the dev wanted to express. That I appreciate a lot more as the game becomes this weird, multiversal, insectoid, sci-fi, artistic collage that you solve puzzles in.

The game this most reminds me of is Hob, only without Hob's combat and with more complex puzzles. This is because both games have the same minimalism in storytelling and player interaction, similar visual cues and interactibles for puzzles, and the same basic loop of overcome challenge > watch cool machine do cool thing. I would still describe Cocoon as a beginner puzzler, though. It introduces concepts and teaches them and builds upon them through repeating challenges of increasing complexity, but they never feel fully fleshed out. Each time a concept reaches a satisfying level of challenge, it kind of plateaus there and soon enough the game moves on to the next thing. I don't really have a problem with that considering that entry-level games are always appreciated to introduce newcomers to the genre without treating them like morons, but it is a little disappointing. I would say that I'd wait for a sequel for more complex puzzles, but this dev doesn't really do sequels so I guess I'll just move on to a different puzzle game.

I'd recommend this, but wait for a sale.

Lovely game. Puzzles were fun, sometimes frustrating (but you know, it's puzzles). The boss encounter interactions felt a little odd because they relied on fast hand/eye co-ordination and responses, whereas the rest of the game was "at your own pace".. however, they were still very interesting.

The atmospherics.. environments, audio cues, animations, style, aesthetic - just lovely, every bit of it.

What a wonderful puzzle game! I loved the 3D graphics, the environments, the graphical effects, and (most importantly) the incredible mind-bending puzzles! The puzzles managed all manners of difficulty and challenge, which, hidden and nestled among the intriguing landscapes, made for an enthralling adventure. One other bit of high praise I have for this game is that--in spite of it being a relatively short game--it really felt like it was of adequate length. For those into fun world-within-world adventure puzzle games to potentially rival the likes of Myst, this game should be placed high upon their next-to-play lists!

I haven't played a puzzle game this cleanly designed in a long time. The idea of carrying entire worlds inside spheres is both clever and satisfying. It delivers a high quality experience without overstaying its welcome. The boss fights strike a perfect balance. challenging without being frustrating, and engaging without being boring.

I finished the game in about 4 hours.

途中で何回か「あれ？これ…詰んだんじゃないか？」と思ったが、ちゃんと一本道の解法があるので要トライ＆エラー。ヒント機能は特にないけど、試せることも多くはないので特に詰まったりはしなかった。

途中途中で道が分かれており、一方には実績解除に関わるコレクト要素があるものの、一度正しい道を奥まで進んでしまうと後戻りができなくなるので取り逃しに注意。私はかなり取り逃した。2周目をやる口実ができたね！

ボス戦のようなものが各ステージごとにあり、倒すためには4回ほどアタックを成功させなければならないが、1ミスで即終了、最初からやり直しになるので3回目4回目で何度もミスると「あ゛ぁ゛ーーー！！も゛ぉ゛ーーー！！」となりがち。私は4番目のボスでかなり苦戦した。最後の一撃は軽い。

ストーリーのようなものは特になさそうというか、文字情報などが一切ないので想像力に頼る形。ゲームタイトルやボス敵のデザイン、オープニングシーンからエンディングの展開までを考察するに、「孵化→羽化」を表現してるような印象。グロテスクな表現は殆どないが、手放しで「美しい世界観」と褒められるような描写も少なめ。巨大生物や集合体などの表現も、個人的に気に障るほどではなかったが、人によってはゾワッとくるかもしれない。

Nice atmosphere and such, but just know that the puzzles are *very* easy and there's no exploration in the truest sense of the word. Since it's all incredibly linear, there's no "off the beaten path" to even think about.

COCOON is neat and well-made. The game's art direction certainly felt on point to me, if nothing else. Yet, initial excitement of diving into this strange world quickly gave way to tedium.

The puzzles, while coherent and perfectly logical, are ultimately nothing much to write home about. Then there are boss fights of sorts, and I'm not sure why they are here in the first place: those who want to experience challenging combat will not find what they seek here, and those who came to solve puzzles and explore the world (hi, it's me) will find them to be visually appealing, yet ultimately annoying roadblocks.

In my (admittedly limited) experience, the game isn't more than the sum of its parts, so to say. Maybe there was a killer twist or ending waiting for me down the line, and if I were to reach it, I'd be praising the game to hell and back. And if that's the case, then it's a shame that the process of getting there turned out to be dull enough to put me off this hard... but I think I'll live somehow.

This game was a real find.
It's a game with very beautiful visuals and simple mechanics, I really enjoyed it.
The puzzles are all very intuitive and fun to solve, challenging enough to make me think, but not too difficult to get me stuck.

天才，我要说几遍震撼才能完整表达我对这款游戏的赞美，inside和limbo作者的又一匠心力作。茧的概念更偏向于黑衣人电影中的掌中宇宙，而通关成就则让我确信这一点。茧在剧情设计上，延续前两作一贯的风格，依旧无任何文本的抽象主义演绎，说人话就是何意味，完全无法理解的抽象美术概念和令人费解的流程，我个人猜测的话感觉像是主角从出生到成熟的历程吧，结尾也有点破茧为碟的味道。解密设计上，终于没有那么多inside和limbo里那么对脑电波的谜题，解密设计清晰流畅，谜题设计难度为亲民级别，他惊人的把难度把控在让玩家能够通过自己的思考解开谜题，既会感到疑惑也不会导致玩家卡关，你要细细观察，你会发现作者早就把所有解法全部很自然的引导和教学了你一遍，让你产生心理暗示然后只需简单的举一反三就能找到解法，称一句解密大师毫不为过。不过也并非尽善尽美，部分解密缺少引导也缺乏强烈的暗示，导致存在卡关风险，当然只是一两个，并且由于设计机制问题，后期的一些谜题解法实在有些繁琐，游玩流程全程时长不过4.5小时左右，但我却感觉过了很久，上次思考量这么大还是高考写作文的时候。总之，就像去西安吃泡馍，长沙看教员，美国被枪击一样，这就是解谜游戏必吃榜一员。

Me ha encantado este juego. Le seguía la pista de antes de su lanzamiento y ahora he podido jugarlo y me ha fascinado. La estética es preciosa y los puzzles entretenidos sin llegar a ser tediosos. La dinámica de los mundos en los que entras y sales me ha parecido brillante. Lo recomiendo sin duda.

Great game, played it twice - on PS4 pro and PC.
I don't need to convince you to buy it, just looking at a few clips it you can decide if it is something for you or not.
It is from the maker of Limbo and Inside - Jeppe Carlsen, so in terms of logic to the puzzles you can expect something of the sort. Atmosphere is very different, but also very engaging.
The puzzles are not that complicated, but do increase in difficulty as you go on, but there is a flow to the game, so you will not get stuck. For people saying that they stopped as it was boring - to each their own.
Personally there was nothing I didn't enjoy about this game, not a single thing.
What I would however recommend is to get yourself a Luma fix (https://www.reddit.com/r/HDR_Den/comments/1nq3hs1/cocoon_luma_framework_showcase_installation/)
and play in HDR. It really adds to the experience from a visual stand point.
If the developer is reading this - we are living in 2026, not 2016, HDR is a thing.
I remember playing in stereoscopic 3d and nobody caring, even though it was and still is awesome. HDR is not Stereo 3d, the percentage of people with HDR displays is huge when you account for the console market, so just add it (and properly) please!
