This is one of those VR experiences that I'd recommend everyone try. It's super mesmerizing.
I only wish that I could experience this with Quest 3's passthrough API over Link, though you can sort of do this with Virtual Desktop, just without proper composition or scene understanding. I would love to be able to see the particles collide with the walls and objects in my room.
It's super affordable and you can do so much with this beautiful particle physics sandbox.
I like the game but i use a quest 3s with virtual desktop and most controls work fine! but other don't if this game updates to get a better quest layout i will instabuy but for now its a refund.

Easily one of the coolest VR experiences out there. Not much to do but it's visually really interesting and cool and it syncs to music. Highly recommend to anyone with a VR who wants a new experience.
Game no longer works on Virtual Desktop + SteamVR + Oculus Quest 2; Controllers are stuck in the floor. It was cool when it worked though. Tried changing controller bindings and that didn't seem to work either.
I play this now and then when I'm high. But, after looking at everyone else's hours, I might have a problem...

A wonderful built-for-VR experience, this was the first title ive played in VR and it left a fantastic impression, fairly intuitive controls, good performance, and its a visual treat.

I've been looking for a nice VR music visualizer, that's in between sitting around and looking at flashy stuff (DMT, Vision, etc.) and actually moving around (BeatSaber, Synth Riders etc.) and this one ticks all the boxes. Just perfect.

The main branch of the game is broken, they very clearly didn't test it properly. But overall it's a fun experience and Ill be spending a good amount of time in it.
This is an amazing program. Kudos to the devs. I hope they release new products like this. 10 out of 10. Pick your favorite music and set it to play and enjoy :))))

Best 5€ i have ever spent
As an adult with ADHD, this game directly addresses my most fundamental needs. I can sit on the floor and throw paint everywhere, I can play in a ball pit, I can be inside a giant lava lamp and become one with the cosmic rainbow goo while listening to my favorite music.
I love this! its so meditative and fun to just play in a ball pit... except its a super ball pit!

It's a crime that Chroma Lab is so hidden. I've been a VR user for a few years and somehow have just stumbled upon this gem... Such beautiful physics simulation that is simply stunning to witness inside of VR, the type of experience that can make you feel like a child again playing around and experiencing something brand new. This is a must try VR experience in my opinion.
Chroma Lab is a unique and wonderful particle physics simulator for VR that reacts to music. It is incredibly fun to play with in VR as it completely surrounds you and immerse you in its magic. I highly recommend this for casual relaxing times when you just feel like putting on some music and playing around with trippy blobs of light. This is probably the best VR music visualizer I have seen yet simply for being so interactive and playful. This is perfect for playing in-between more serious games that require more focus and brain power. Works perfect with a Valve Index and controllers. Turn on, tune in, and drop out :)

I genuinely adore this game. Granted I only play it when I'm stoned. But I would argue that makes it twice the experience it normally is. The ability to toy with physics is great, along with the bright and shining colors. Seriously, high or not, play this game.

I like the app so much, one of the coolest in VR.
I met this artistic creation for the first time in the Museum of Other Realities.
Well, I prefer the exhibition in the MOR because I can manipulate the particles with my hands. My mind is completely fooled, I feel to be really in a museum and to interact with the installation with my hands. When I hit the particles with my hands, they react like a viscous fluid in a weak central gravity field; they spread like water drops without forming clusters , the potential energy increases and velocity decreases; then they come back together, as attracted by the center of the installation.
In the Steam app when I hit the particles with the blue spheres, they spread but they form clusters; and they don't come back together, they continue to float. I tried to simulate central gravity with the attractive spheres, but it's not the same.
Just a couple of suggestions to the developer!
I would like to interact with particles using the controllers like hands, visualizing my hands, just like in the MOR. I would like a more advanced physics, with more parameters to adjust, like viscosity, intensity of reciprocal forces between particles, intensity of central gravitational field.
In the MOR the particles can move in a bigger space without hitting invisible walls; the space in the Steam app is too small (even at maximum). I prefer the feeling of being in a real big room looking at my hands that play with particles. I would like to have a simulation of a real big room even in the Steam app.

if you play music in the background, even a youtube video, it affects the particles as well. So, for me, this is the most entertaining audo visual experience.
I spent more time with this in Vive Infinity. Now I added it in my steam library.

Amazing game, very relaxing and fun.
Very addictive, easy to lose yourself in the patterns and different tools. Definitely get into the menu and adjust the particle count, physics, colors, etc. VERY IMPORTANT - make sure you have music playing in the background, the particles will dance/flash/wiggle/etc to whatever music/sound is being outputted from your PC.

Bought the game, am dumb, didn't check if it supports Rift S.
Controllers no work, used like 2-3 different method on trying to get it to work. Nope.
Mailed the dev asking for help, super friendly and helpful, even though this is a 4+ years old project of his.
He found a fix, let me play test it and now 18% more VR players (Rift S) can enjoy this masterpiece.

I spent a while reading Community Hub discussions looking to see if Chroma Lab supported WMR. Fortunately I found mention of WMR controllers, so I decided to buy in hopes of at least partial functionality. Fantastic! Please have Steam update the Store page to reflect the fact that WMR is supported!!

(Vive) Не особо увлекло как процесс. Как-то непонятно, кто именно должен реагировать на музыку, то ли частицы, то ли ты со своими инструментами. Сцена слишком самостоятельная и хаотичная. У твоих же действий большая инерция, результат выглядит чужеродным и не в такт. А пока придумываешь и задаешь параметры для сцены, вобще не до музыки и картинки. В целом воспринимается как две разные идеи в одной игре. Выглядит, впрочем, интересно, не топлю.

If you're looking for a VR experience that is meant for just playing around with textures and mind pulsing colors, then this is it. I love just putting on some music, setting the game room to react to the music, and then just playing with all the particles. Sit on the floor, play with the universe and just VIBE. It's great.

Stunning little sandbox. I love how it reacts to your own music, the particle effects are fun to play around with, it you can create some mesmerizing effects. I'm glad I picked this up, and it'll be great to have when showing VR to other people.

It is a surprisingly difficult thing to find a VR title that lets you lay on the floor and be in a nice place for a while. Chroma lab does a good job of that and is definitely worth the equivalent of a cheap pizza.
If you want VR eye candy.. just buy it...
It's a bit overwhelming when it first starts,
but once you figure out the menu system it's all fun times from there.
My wife didn't enjoy the first experience at all, so I gotta at least warn you...
It will spawn you in the middle of a ball pit type room, and you'll be immersed in the balls...
So just bear with it a second and figure out how to push/pull the media around and you'll be fine.
Its very overwhelming at first, almost discombobulating...
but stick with it and you'll have a blast like no other.
Wish they'd update or steam workshop it with some more options/presets/etc..
but I can't complain one bit as it stands.
Between this and VR Cosmic Sugar,
You're set for whatever you plan to do with your night.
11/10 One of my top VR favs so far.

Chroma Lab is an absolutely lovely experience for VR players with Synesthesia/Chromesthesia. Throw on some music and get lost dancing in colors that you can move around at your leisure.

It's fairly easy to tell whether or not you want Sean Tann's [i]Chroma Lab[/i] at a quick glance. It's a colorful VR particle toy with fluid-like physics, featuring a few different tools that let players mess around with and shape the particles. For example, there's a particle gun, magnets that can attract or repulse, a spark tool that blasts away nearby particles, and a paintbrush among a few others. The tools all have settings to play around with, which lends them a bit of variety. Players can also use their hands to directly bat at or catch and throw particles. The game is also sound-reactive, so loading up music in another program will make the particles light up—a nice feature that makes the environment a bit more lively. There are some interesting settings worth messing around with, allowing for some customization of the particles' shapes, colors, and behavior, as well as some environmental stuff like setting the scale, turning the skybox off, or switching on bloom. [i]Chroma Lab[/i] also comes with some presets and allows for save states.
Admittedly, [i]Chroma Lab[/i] is a game that some people are only going to get about twenty minutes out of before moving on—it's essentially an interactive VR visualizer for your tunes, and a single-player one at that. If, like me, you're easily entertained by bright lights and know how to make your own fun, you're likely to get much more mileage out of it. I've had a lot of fun so far playing around to club music and letting myself get lost in shaping the particle masses. Throw on Daft Punk's [i]Discovery[/i] or SOPHIE's [i]PRODUCT[/i] and dance around in [i]Chroma Lab[/i] for a bit, playing around with the tools to the rhythm of the beats. Even if you look a little bit silly doing it.
It's hella satisfying. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who doesn't like particles floating about pulsating to nice music? I've spent 5€ worse than this.

Well worth the cheap price. Nice way to sit back and listen to music with some visuals. One thing I wish would be added though: moving with joystick (a pain especially in a smaller room)

Good god. Everyone must play this game.
There's no tutorial, and I suspect that some of the negative reviews on here are a result of that missing function. If you are patient and play with all the tools and settings, you'll find that there is a lot more to experience. This isn't a music visualizer, though it makes a great substitute for one. The particles react to whatever music you play. Any music works from any streaming service or even just Youtube.
Highly recommended.

One of my go-to VR apps. Turning on music reactivity transforms this from a relaxing particle physics toy into one of the greatest music visualizers i've ever used. Can't wait to see what Sean Tann does next. This belongs in every VR user's library.
This is a good game to relax
This VR experience is very, very barebones, What you see in the thumbnails is exactly what you get.
Unfortunately, instead of "And then some" we get "And then less", as things like syncing music to the game provides such a mediocre effect it's hard to even tell if it's reacting with the song, or just randomly.
It is, a room full of pretty colors. That you can wiggle around.
If that's what you wanted, it's pretty cool. But a 5$ VR experience isn't particularly long-lived or compelling.
Maybe save up for something with more meat on it
THIS GAME ROCKS i want enemies made of this stuff. HOW does this work is it a particle sim or something else i hope the dev works on more cool stuff like this I think you cold also make a cool magic system out of this. anyways the game rocks it is just sooo cool and fun its a cheap game it is worth it.

This is really good, I didn't expect much of it, but I was instantly proved wrong, It's stunning.
TBH it's a REALLY fun little physics sandbox! it's super fun to mess with the settings and use the tools to mess with it farther. I was gonna mess around with it for like 10 minuets or so and ended up playing for almost two hours!
Even if you just mess around with it once or twice then only boot it up to show friends some cool ♥♥♥♥ in VR this is more than worth the $5
