Nigdy nie grałem w "Cave Story", więc mogę ocenić tę grę tylko pod kątem tego, jak dobrze wpasowuje się w gatunek skradanek, ale muszę przyznać, że jest zaskakująco zaawansowana, biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że nic nie kosztuje, a wydało ją studio, które ma na swoim koncie kilka hitów. Pikselowa grafika z nałożonym efektem kineskopowym dodaje jej charakteru, a chociaż większość poziomów jest w miarę prosta do rozwiązania, część z nich oferuje dodatkowy sposób na ich przejście z użyciem narzędzi, a każdy z nich staje się trudniejszy w momencie, kiedy zechcemy zdobyć również ciasteczka. Podsumowując, jest to całkiem fajna zabawa na jeden wieczór.

Boring and tedious
Funny little Christmas game, very simple, fairly short and easy to finish. Note that you have to do that twice to get all achievements which are 100% obtainable. Also note that's a bit aged, cutscenes cannot be skipped and the character moves rather slowly.

This charming game offers some yuletide hijinks for all to enjoy. Every aspect of the game is simple and effective. The challenge to perform a run without being seen is a good time. The hybrid track of Carol of the Bells with the Cave Story theme is epic. Many objects in the levels have unique descriptions, which is a nice touch. The option to turn off the CRT filter is appreciated. There could have been more features added, such as improved control descriptions, a collectible counter, and some time trials. And for fans of the original game, there is unfortunately no new story content, aside from a big sack of references.
Overall, this is a delightful little game. It's in the spirit of both the holiday season and its freeware source material. The game is recommended to anyone, especially to those who enjoy stealth games.

Cute and short spinoff game for Cave Story. Each level sees you sneak around a house (grid-based movement system). Your goal is to go to every christmas tree in the house, then go back to the fireplace you entered from. You need to avoid waking sleepy mimiga and avoid patroling animals with sight cones. They're not too hard to avoid, I don't think this is a hard game. You have optional things you can do, like find & eat cookies, and you can choose to bonk or not bonk the patrolling animals (which stuns them for a short time). Overall I thought it was cute, short, and sweet. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't absolutely hate sneaking around.

Хотя игра и сделана на RPG Maker, она радует глаз хорошей цветовой гаммой, анимацией и детальными локациями. Саунд дизайн и музыкальное сопровождение сделаны качественно, но быстро надоедают. Фраза Санты у камина о дверях вызывает грустные размышления. Жаль, что в Steam нет нейтральной оценки, ведь “Cave Story’s Secret Santa” - это неплохая, но не обязательная к прохождению бесплатная игра.

Have never heard of the Cave Story franchise, so I will judge this game as a standalone product. There isn’t much of a narrative present, and the story itself relies on a player to know who the protagonists are, and what the world is like. So I felt like I’m entering into the middle of someone else’s conversation. But what about gameplay?
It’s simple, yet satisfying – you need to secretly enter different homes, place gifts under the Christmas tree, and then leave without a trace. Sounds easy? The gameplay makes emphasis on stealth and tight timings, which can tickle your nerves slightly and keep you engaged.
Not to mention the Easter eggs and secrets, which are so distinctive to Japanese games. It gives Cave Story's Secret Santa even more soul and relatability.
However, there was one unpleasant thing, and that is the fact that I couldn’t get a certain achievement despite completing the requirements for it thrice, essentially beating the game 3 additional times. If not for that, I would have rated this game even higher. At the end, I still managed to get it, but the whole process was frustrating.
Even despite this inconvenience, I give Cave Story's Secret Santa a 7/10, and my recommendation.
It is a free 1-2 hour short game with intuitive mechanics.

🎅 Ah, Cave Story's Secret Santa... Um jogo que parece ter sido embrulhado por um elfo hiperativo e recheado com tudo de bom do Natal (e umas pitadas de caos). Imagine misturar o espírito natalino com o DNA pixelado de Cave Story. Agora adicione um Papai Noel que parece ter feito um curso intensivo de stealth com o Solid Snake. Sim, é exatamente tão estranho e divertido quanto parece.
👀 A história:
Papai Noel foi roubado (não o trenó, relaxe – foram os presentes!). Como bom velhinho destemido, você embarca em uma missão secreta para devolvê-los sem ser pego. A premissa é simples, mas as situações são hilárias. Esconder-se atrás de árvores, fugir de inimigos... Quem diria que o trabalho de Noel era tão perigoso?
🕹️ Jogabilidade:
Você vai escorregar pelos telhados como um ninja natalino e jogar presentes como se fossem granadas de amor e bondade. Mas cuidado! Se for pego, é game over. É um jogo de furtividade... com gorro vermelho e sinos. Parece que os criadores pensaram: “E se Papai Noel fosse um espião?” e decidiram não olhar para trás.

Cave Story had no reason to go as hard as it did with a Christmas spin-off game, and I got to say that it's probably one of the best Christmas games out there. Not Bayonetta 2 level, but it's up there. The game is a fun little telling of our main protag taking the role of Santa as we stealth our way through people's houses as we eat cookies and leave presents! Often you will be going through vents, moving blocks, and avoiding the likes of being spot by the various present getters as you do these actions. While it is a stealth game, most of the houses do come across more as a puzzle rather than stealth sequence, but then again a lot of these houses also come across as death traps too.
Cave Story's Secret Santa is cheap as free, and worth your time with a nice short and sweet run. The game does pretty much everything it wants to with in the levels given, and while the levels are never challenging they are interesting in the way that will hold your attention. Ascetically it's a very pleasant game to look at and listen to. And most of all you get to wack people with your bag! If you're looking to celebrate Christmas with a video game this year, Cave Story's Secret Santa is a great take on the stealth formula while still being holly and jolly.

Great game! It's a short and fun puzzle game perfect to play during the holiday season! I'm a fan of cave story but this can be enjoyed by anyone and would recommend it if you have an hour or two!
i remember enjoying this for a bit, and it's free. some things were broken on launch, though, and while i'm not sure if that has been entirely fixed, there was a patch, at least.

O jogo apresenta excelentes gráficos (lembra mt jogos 8-bits) e uma jogabilidade stealth de forma simples e mt bem

- Я сегодня начал новый, здоровый образ жизни! Встал в 6:00, сделал зарядку, думал - щас ещё 30 отжиманий, душ и приду даже раньше восьми...
- И?
- Жена в 8:45 нашла спящим в ванной на полу...
CS is action, this is stealth. It's short, sweet, on-theme. I hope to find more fan-games like this.
