You wake up in a dark cave with no memory of who you are, where you came from or why you're in such a place. Uncovering Mimiga Village you discover that the once-carefree Mimigas are in danger at the hands of a maniacal scientist. a timeless classic so good you could write a rap album about it

Cave Story is an absolute favorite of mine and despite what my hours say I have played this game religiously. It's not easy to admit but this is probably one of the worst ways to play this masterpiece in it's current state. Less features than any of the current releases, limited options to scale or full screen the game, and cloud saves did not work properly forcing me to completely restart. If you're able to I'd currently recommend the Switch release as it's usually cheaper or just download it for free from the fan translation. For $15 I shouldn't have to resize the screen at launch or have to restart the game because I completed a challenge run.

I've played Cave Story a thousand times before. I've played on PC, I've played it on my DSi, I've played it on my 3DS, so surprisingly this is my first time playing Cave Story+. You should understand, this port has some hang ups, especially in some technical aspects that relates to controller support and just general QoL, but besides that it's a near perfect Remaster.
To talk about the game. Without telling you to much, Cave Story lives up to it's reputation and then some, as I am able to come back and play this game time and time again with no issues or hang ups. It's a classic for a reason. If you're at all interested in playing it. Play it. You won't be let down.
Also, I came back because of the Cave Story Rap Album/Walkthrough, so after you beat this indie Gem, go give it a listen, it's just as soulful as the game that inspired it.

A staple of Metroidvania and Indie Games for a reason--despite what my hours say, I've played through this game 3 times (twice when it was free on Epic) and finally bought it on Steam to grind for the true ending. Definitely a recommend for anyone interested in Metroidvanias (or for fans of Terraria, it's basically a moral obligation out of respect). And of course if you're broke, the original game is completely free, which is quite the good deal imo :)

For something that's supposed to be THE indie game, the indiest of the indies - it was lowkey booty cheeks
The pixel art and music are all good and stuff but that's about it
The gameplay varies from mind-numbingly boring to making me seethe with rage, due to the going back and forth in every area, the awkward character movement, the level designs or the boss fights
I'm thankful this game exists cuz it's gotten us with indie games where we are now but wow if this wasn't a frustrating experience to play through
Really good game with a really good story, just two things that bother me, it doesn't use Steam Cloud despite it says it does, and you have to use community setups to have it work with an Xbox Controller, even on Steam Deck
This game is like cool because like your in a cave and like you meet people in the cave then you like have to put some doctor in his place but you'd probably wanna save curly brace.
Como amante de los juegos indie, en algún momento tenía que venir aquí a probar el que, digamos, sentó las bases de este tipo de juegos. En pocas palabras, me ha encantado: un metroidvania brillante, con un estilo en píxeles muy carismático, unos bosses variados y no demasiado complicados y una colección de personajes espectacular. Todavía no me lo he pasado del todo (lo de que al final haya básicamente cuatro bosses seguidos sin puntos de guardado intermedios es demencial), pero tengo toda la intención y las ganas de hacerlo.
P.D. Cuando lo jugué la resolución en 4:3 no se trasladaba del todo bien a la pantalla de mi portátil, por lo que no se veían los extremos superior e inferior. No sé si ya está arreglado, pero por lo pronto es la única pega que tengo.

2. 本体轻松愉快，难度很低的平台跳跃游戏
3. 但是做3血通关真结局的过程中，最后圣域区域，是真的难，难度直线上升。直逼现代各种高难度操作游戏了。全成就党不要被前面90%的简单内容蒙蔽了双眼。
「缺点」
1. 对话没法快速跳过
2. 真结局的圣域PART2这个场景，设计的太恶心了，高难度操作游戏里，弄这么多随机因素，在我看来完全不会设计游戏。大量随机掉落的石头，趋近于随即移动的飞天天使。玩3血真结局这部分真的恶心。
