Пародия на игру Cut the rope, которая в свое время была популярна на телефоне. Но эта более разнообразна и, как мне кажется, намного сложнее. С учетом того, что нужно не только пройти уровень за определенное кол-во действий, но и собрать все маффины. Тогда вам дадут 3 звезды за уровень. А за звезды мы открываем бонусные уровни, которые нам нужны для получения всех костюмов. Поэтому, если хотите платину - придется попотеть. А я лично нехило так потел, ибо у этого уродского кота(сколько раз хотелось ему бубенчики отрезать) рандомная механика отскоков и падений. То он застрянет, где раньше не застревал, то отскочит не так, то улетит куда-то. Чистейший рандом, короче
В помощь нам есть 3 вида бонусов, множество костюмов, спрятанных на локациях, некое подобие сюжета и 5 видов уровней(5 бонусный), на каждом из которых своя стилистика и тематика, а также объекты взаимодействий

Well Well Well, this one is a mixed bag of fleas.
So first of all, you cannot play this thing in fullscreen on certain monitor aspect ratios, because the game will not show all the buttons.
The gameplay has some nice things, which you are not supposed to use. Because fun is not the primary focus of the game.
So you can slice wood, wobble the cat (he is very wobbly!) and do some fun things with the powerups. But you never use any of that, because - Yes, every attempt is limited by the amount of interactions you do. Sometimes the game just bugs out and counts 2 clicks on one, possibly forcing you to restart.
You only have a certain amount of maximum interactions for 3 star levels. So yes, you have to plan what to do, but also you can't go wild and actually use the powerups (like floating bubble), because that's just too many clicks.
The powerups themselves - you never have to use them. But you get them up to a maximum of 3, for 3 starring a level. Why are they limited? nobody knows. They are also used on every attempt, so you might have to FARM them.
In short: they are uselss and you can win the levels without - so why include them..?
The worst part however is the randomness. While it becomes clear rather quickly HOW to solve the level, you often find yourself fidgeting around with just the exact timing, slice wood angle or wobbly cat physics, so you have to play the levels more often than you should. Skill Issue? Maybe.
The best part about this is the little bits of story, I just like the art style. Sadly this has not made it into the actual gameplay part, which has quite a different art style. More basic, but you can see that for yourself on the screenshots.
You can find some costumes for the cat, but it will always reset when you start the game. It's also not appealing, so you mostly use the default outfit anyway.
So in total, the game is old and buggy and won't be fixed. It's nice for a little bit at a time, until the frustration sets in.
Is it worth 1 currency? Maybe, it's got some achievements, if you're into that. I did enjoy the game, but looking back at it, it could have been much more fun for the mentioned reasons

Cat on a Diet ist sehr öähnlich wie das Handyspiel cut the Rope und ganz klar dem Casual Genre zuschreibbar. Wir haben verschiedene Stages und versuchen mit möglichst wenigen Schnitten Blöcke, Seile etc. zu zerschneiden um die Bouncy Katze ins Keksglas fallen zu lassen, dabei bedienen wir uns an der Physik und verschiedenen Platformen um die Katze ins rollen und fallen zu bringen. Die fallenden Plattformelemente können außerdem ähnlich wie in Agrybirds Muffins einsammeln und uns somit möglichst viele Sterne pro stage sammeln lassen.
Es wird das Rad nicht neu erfunden und zeigt auch wenig innovation, aber wenn man über viele Stunden Casual entspannt etwas Zeit verbrennen möchte, kann man das hier machen. Der Artstyle ist cute und die Musik auch nicht schlecht. An sich hohe qualität, aber das Spielprinzip ist nichts neues und es gibt kostenlose alternativen.

Reminds me of those flash games I used to play. You can 3 star every level without using power-ups too, which is nice but it's clear the devs expected you to use power-ups constantly based on how many they give you.
I feel like if the game is better with power-ups they should've just made all of them apart of the game instead of making most of them earn-able via level completions. At least they're generous?

The game doesn't load right on 1440p monitors leaving giant white bars on the side but the UI is hidden behind them. People mention to change the game settings to windowed to fix it but I can't even find the options but because it must be behind those white bars on the side of the screen. I played a couple levels while just randomly clicking, hoping I could find the right button but the game isn't fun enough to randomly click hoping I find the right button...

[h3] [b]How does it work?[/b][/h3] You need to solve various setups in order to allow a cat to eat muffins and then end in a cookie jar. Each setup has the cat sitting in a position it must leave in order to get to the cookie jar. Success is defined by having removed all three muffins from the setup and having the cat in the cookie jar. The setups may have different conditions applied to the definition of success: e.g. some have timers, some must be solved in a minimum number of actions. You have to solve 4 groups of setups (each with 24 setups) in order to have access to the bonus level, for a total of 128 setups. You also have to find different types of headgear (hats and masks) for the cat.
[h3] [b]How does it perform?[/b][/h3] Easy to play. This game is intuitive but requires sometimes some serious thinking. Because of the random effect of your actions, you may have to repeat some setups a big number of time before you can get the three stars and solve the setup in a satisfactorily fashion.
[h3] [b]The good points:[/b][/h3] Absorbing game. It has a good accompanying music that can be shut off in the game settings if it hinders your concentration. Some of the setups are quite demanding, but most are not that difficult. There are achievements, and getting them is not effortless but very much feasible . Please note that in order to get access to the last setups, you must make sure you have gotten three stars in all previous setup groups. It has good setings allowing you to change screen size and toggle on/off the music and sound effects. The game takes less than 70 MB on your HD, and will run on a 10 years old PC. The price asked of it is fair. You should get more than 10 hours of play out of it. It has Steam Trading Cards.
[h3] [b]The bad points:[/b][/h3] Because of the random nature of the physics effects in the game (effects caused by your actions), some setups are likely to be frustrating because of the number of times you will have to restart the level (setup) in order to solve it in a satisfactorily manner (getting to three stars). The mechanics of movements is too random in a few setups that are more complex than the average one in this game. The cat is more like a rubber toy that will bounce everywhere but the place where you want to send him.
[h3] [b]My take on this:[/b][/h3] It is a good and sometimes challenging puzzle game. The music is ok, the visual aspect of the game is nice. For the basic price that is asked of it, you cannot go wrong. If you find it at a discount, grab it.

I'm fairly positive I picked up Cat on a Diet (CD) from a larger bundle of cheap titles. For whatever reason, I really wanted to accumulate numerous games, so I was valuing quantity over quality. In this case, with the game launching back in 2016, it only has a review score around 74%. That's nothing I'm too excited over, so I might as well boot it up now, instead of letting it linger anymore.
[h1]Gameplay[/h1]
Although it's not the most popular type of puzzle game, it's had so many variants over the years that you've probably seen something like this before. Basically, a still object acting as the McGuffin will be placed towards the top of the screen, with various objects distributed below. You're provided with a tool that can break some of those items, so that you can direct how that McGuffin falls through the stage, aiming for it to land at the target location. It's somewhat like a pachinko machine, but instead of relying on randomness, you try figuring out the right moves to intentionally make it land in the right place. Sometimes, it's a matter of placing or destroying things in the correct order, but in CD, you have a slashing tool, and need to cut the platforms at the right place and angle to make the cat fall into the cookie jar. I'm sure there have been weirder premises for games.

How this game controls was something that quickly turned me off, because the physics are far too sensitive and precise. For instance, when making cuts to the wooden structures, a slight difference in how sharp you make the angle can lead to the cat either just nestling into the jar, or go rolling too fast and miss it entirely. I can appreciate such a distinction when one attempt to the other was considerably different. However, when I could take screenshots of both attempts, hardly distinguish any difference, yet wind up with such stark results, my interest in the game vanishes. What's the point if failure and success rests on the width of a whisker? Not to belabor the point, but with it being so fickle, I might have gotten quite close to the solution, yet don't recognize it because it still failed for being ever so slightly off, “Well that didn't work. Let me try something completely different.”

In an impressive display of obesity, the cat climbs through the pet door, and somehow manages to destroy the surrounding wood due to being too fat. For that reason, he's being placed on a strict diet, and your goal is to help the cat get into the jar of cookies regardless? I hadn't realized I was playing as an enabler like Jon Arbuckle, but okay then.

When looking at the backgrounds, the objects in the house look like they're cardboard cutouts. Instead of a hand-drawn image, they look like constructions cut out from a magazine, made up of single colors, and roughly snipped edges. It doesn't make for a compelling aesthetic or effect, so I'm not really sure what the motive was behind this decision. I could imagine the inspiration was from something like Paper Mario, but whereas that seemed like a thoughtful decision that was taken in creative directions, I'm left wondering why the backgrounds look like crap and don't fit the rest of the game's design. The short panels outlining the simple premise of CD doesn't match that design at all, so it creates an odd contrast that makes it stand out. Personally, I'd much prefer it if the entire game looked that way, because then everything would fit together, would be more colorful and lively, and have a comely, hand-drawn appearance to it. On that note, for using a cat as the main object, it's not very cute looking.

It may not be a glowing recommendation, but the few songs I listened to weren't badly composed. Jazz isn't really my style though, yet it seemed harmless enough for background tunes. Oddly enough, the music will practically fade into near silence, not because the volume dropped, but due to the lack of any notes playing. Why program the game to constantly loop your music, even as you go in and out of levels, but then have long stretches of quiet moments? Some decisions are simply beyond my comprehension. I suppose due to the cat's size, the sound effects made by it are more irritating than cute or affectionate. This just seems like another case of not making the most out of what you're working with.

❌ The cat has so much mass, needing a lot of momentum in order to move anywhere. Despite being a round object, it doesn't roll with the smoothness or speed I'd expect from this genre.
❌ You can retry a stage fast enough just by hitting the 'R' button, but changing to another level is much slower.
❌ Getting wood into the cookie jar so the cat doesn't touch the cookies count as failure.
❌ The controls are atrocious.

🔍 Whenever there's a hidden costume, look for a partial hole somewhere on the screen. Then just click on it several times.
🔍 By repeatedly beating early levels with three stars, you can grind for power-ups.
[h1]Final Thoughts[/h1]
I honestly couldn't believe it, when I was on level 11, and kept trying to move the cat down 3 simple stacks and into the cookie jar. Despite approaching it from a variety of different methods, such as making the cat move more quickly downwards, taking it one platform at a time, and making cuts at a range of angles, I couldn't beat the level. Either the cat would fail to get enough momentum and wind up stuck near the beginning, or it'd flop through the wobbly platforms improperly, screwing up the arrangement. At around this point I got an achievement for playing this game for 10 minutes, and was dumbfounded. Why is it designed so badly I got stuck this early on? Using a power-up I was able to skip past this issue. However, even when I made another attempt and got further along, I ran into a similar problem when the cat somehow missed a power-up right in its path! Who play-tested this trash?! All the power-ups in the world wouldn't make me want to continue through this painful puzzle experience, so I definitely can't recommend it.

First of all, you can get this at under a dollar from a third-party retailer, so don't pay full price.
The static, cartoony graphics and the swiping gameplay should make it very apparent that this game is meant for a tablet. It’s perfectly functional with a mouse, but you can tell that you shouldn’t need a laptop or a Steam Deck to play it, much less a gaming PC.
That said… it kind of works? The physics are easy to grasp, cupcakes work as a completion goal, and the cat is enjoyably squishy.
It’s not perfect; the power-ups are rewards for perfect 3-star ratings, but they’re limited and cap-out at three, which puts unreasonable pressure to constantly use them when it’s so easy to finish a bunch of levels without them and miss out on the power-ups, which should have been banked. Also, the achievement for completing the bonus world is bugged, activating when you beat the main game.
I played another simple mobile-oriented game on Steam called “Numba Deluxe.” Like it, Cat on a Diet is available on the Apple Store at a slightly cheaper price, and I don’t know if it, a derivative, or something its derivative of are available somewhere for for free. It works for what it is; just know what you’re getting.

Cat on a Diet is a dark and powerful period piece about the horrors ever present in consumerist lifestyles. Our protagonist has become so consumed with his own gluttony he is barely even capable of movement besides what is needed to reach new areas of the house to find substance. As a cruel uncaring God it's your goal in this narrative to roll his corpulent body into trash bins filled with cookies. Even though this will eventually lead to his painful and slow death we are unable to do anything about it. Perhaps in the end we are just the will of destruction working with and within this feline and thus creating a strange twisted relationship that neither one of us are capable of stopping.

I almost love this game as much as I love lasagna.
The game is clearly good but due to there being no settings menu option for adjusting resolution and thereby allowing me to see the full set of controls to enable me to actually start a game, then it's all a bit of a CAT-astrophe.

I would give this game a positive review for being fun at first few levels, but later levels are filled with terrible physics puzzles and you WILL frequently fail to the point of rage quiting! There are some super easy levels with obvious solutions but others are super annoying with "WTF I have to do?", just because you slice the wood planks a bit incorrectly. There are some levels that seems impossible to three-star without the use of cheat items, but you can grind them without any penalty.

Sono onestamente deluso da "Cat on a diet"
Il gioco è sviluppato per smartphone e si vede.
Tuttavia trovo i comandi un po' difficoltosi e non precisi.
Il gatto, che decisamente non è "on diet" visto che mangia di continuo, difficilmente va dove si vuole ed a volte per velocizzare il tutto si useranno semplicemente gli aiuti per finire prima.
Il gioco, almeno nel mio caso, non appassiona e lo trovo inferiore al "cut the rope" da cui è ispirato e che giocai tempo fa al cellulare
Non consigliato a prezzo pieno.
Potrebbe valere la pena se in offerta sotto i 0.90€ soprattutto se amate i gatti :P
Ma senza aspettarsi nulla di spettacolare.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Chiaro titolo di origine mobile in cui dobbiamo aiutare un gatto ciccione a raggiungere un vaso di biscotti, e possibilmente prendere anche dei pasticcini sparsi in giro nel mentre.
Visto che però il gatto è così grasso che non si muove e si limita a rotolare come un budino, dovremo farlo spostare utilizzando gli elementi dello scenario e, con precisi movimenti del mouse (a simulare il trascinamento del dito sul cellulare), tagliare ad esempio delle travi di legno, delle corde, attivare interruttori e quant’altro. La fisica gioca un ruolo molto importante qui, anche se non è sempre precisissima.
Ci sono diversi mondi, ciascuno con qualche meccanica inedita come ad esempio portali o congegni che cambiano la gravità, ma l’idea di base rimane la stessa: far finire il gatto nel vaso.
Come in ogni titolo del genere, in ciascun livello si possono ottenere 3 stelline in base ai tocchi utilizzati e ai pasticcini raccolti, e sbloccare così i livelli successivi e anche altri bonus con regole diverse.
Per i più pigri ci sono dei potenziamenti che rendono il tutto molto più facile, ad esempio per attirare i pasticcini automaticamente o per rendere invincibile il gatto. Non c’è nessuno svantaggio nell’usarli, ma consiglio di lasciarli come ultima risorsa: la meccanica fisica dei livelli è simpatica, ben implementata e c’è sempre almeno una soluzione corretta per risolverli.
Un classico gioco passatempo che dura 4-5 orette per prendere tutto, non sempre preciso in tutti i livelli ma con delle idee carine e realizzate anche abbastanza bene.

Joguinho de um gato comilão que sempre faz promessa de começar a dieta mas acaba sempre se empanturrando de doces, até parece alguém que eu conheço kkkk. O game é muito bom, é simples, mas é desafiador, pois você tem que agir no tempo certo, é um bom passatempo, é fofo, possui cartas colecionáveis baratas que valem a pena você fazer sua insígnia, pois ela é muito fofa.

Cat on a Diet, que de dieta ele não está fazendo nenhuma, a não ser que seja dieta para engordar e ir pra panela. :P
O jogo é muito legal e desafiador, você perde um bom tempo tentando fazer as três estrelas sem ajuda de guias.
Os gráficos são bonitos e o clássico gatinho amarelo mais que fofo é muito amigável.
O áudio é bacana, todavia faltou um pouco mais de diversidade na música de fundo.
Recomendo a compra mesmo que não esteja em promoção, pois o preço cheio dele de apenas R$ 10,50 atualmente é um ótimo valor para um entretenimento sozinho ou acompanhado.
Deve ser um ótimo jogo para rodar no Steam Deck ou em um notebook deitado na cama solucionando os enigmas para rechear o gatuno.
Esse eu vou jogar até zerar!

Einige Rätsel funktionieren nicht, wenn man nicht den richtigen Drive hat, also könnte zwar die Idee zur Lösung richtig, aber das Timing falsch sein. Es ist möglich, das Spiel zu 100% zu beenden, auch wenn es eine handvoll Levels gibt, in denen der Zähler nicht richtig funktioniert. Wer also darüber hinwegsehen kann, bekommt für kleines Geld ein richtig lustiges Spiel. Empfohlen!
I just played Cat on a Diet and I loved it! The game features a cute and chubby cat trying to sneak into a refrigerator to get his favorite treat, chocolate. It's a puzzle game with over 70 levels that kept me entertained for hours. I had to navigate through obstacles like lasers, spikes, and moving platforms to complete each level.
The graphics are great and the storyline is funny. I found myself smiling and chuckling at the antics of Mr. Whiskers, the main character. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible, which kept me coming back for more.
Overall, I highly recommend Cat on a Diet for anyone who loves puzzle games with adorable characters and a fun storyline.

Over 100 fairly easy physics puzzles in 4 game locations all different and interesting.
Can be tricky to get the coveted 3 stars on each level though.

I didn't finish the game because it would be fatphobic if I made the cat go on a diet.
The first two areas include somewhat interesting puzzles, the third and fourth are just a collection of sandboxy levels which require no puzzle solving, instead relying on a mix of execution challenge and quite a bit of luck. In some levels you can accidentally get three stars using fewer than the maximum moves, without using powerups.
In the second half of the game, every level I beat felt like I was cheesing it.
There's very little exploration of the mechanics, no evolution of the puzzle design throughout the game, and it quickly becomes repetitive and dull.
First off, fun, cute game! Cat lovers/likers will most certainly find Dr. Meow very fun, as the pudgy little guy is adorable. Munching cookies every level is great!
Second, the physics are just a little temperamental, but never terrible and when you get anti-gravity I was laughing quite a bit.
Then the extra costumes are a nice touch, power-ups are simple but fun. Decent variety of puzzle elements. Fun Easter eggs in the background too!
Lastly the price is right for a few hours of fun! Less than 1$ is most certainly worth the laughs!
I say a solid 8, 8.5/10 to this game, more if you are a cat lover and got it for a great price! Thanks Nawia Games! :)
Péssimo. O valor cobrado pelo jogo é totalmente desonesto, deveria ser cobrado com 90% de desconto, pois não vale dois reais e existem muitos jogos melhores que esse, inclusive gratuitos.
Jogo enjoativo depois de um tempo, mesmo deixando para jogar outro dia ainda restam muitas fases.
Tem bug pra passar em algumas fases e você precisa ver vídeo no youtube pra conseguir.
Pra quem gosta de fazer conquistas é um pé no saco.
As cartas não valem nem 10 centavos, vendi pois isso aqui não compensa nem fazer insígnia.

It's a decent puzzle game. The only question is; why you want to guide and overweight cat to a pot of baked cookies?
The levels are sometimes challenging, but most can be finished easy. Some are difficult and need precision to finish.
Pick it up if you like the genre, you can have some fun for a few hours.
I would recommend it on sale. It's not worth the full price.

音效非常可爱，很喜欢失败时猫猫的无辜表情。
每大关都会有一两关需要反复尝试的，其他都没特别难为人。
有物理tag，但如果只想通关、不在意星级的话，只要不断的把木板斜着削就好哈哈。
供参考，我没特地去冲星级，3小时通关的，如果扣去反复刷关的时长，纯内容在一小时这样。

W trakcie rozgrywki sterujemy rudym kotem i naszym zadaniem jest pomóc zwierzakowi dostać się słoika ciastek. Oczywiście, aby nie było to zbyt łatwe to mamy określoną ilość ruchów. Można ten próg przeskoczyć, ale mieszcząc się w liczbie ruchów usprawniamy wynik, za który odblokowujemy kolejne plansze. Na mapach są też ukryte skórki, które możemy ubrać kotu, a jest ich aż 80. W grze nie ma zbyt wielkiej filozofii, ale im dalej w las tym poziomy są trudniejsze do ukończenia, nie mówiąc już o zmieszczeniu się w limicie ruchów. Mamy też do pomocy różne przedmioty jak gumę balonową, która pozwala naszemu milusińskiemu unosić się, magnesy, które przyciągają przeszkody, czy uranowe bomby, rozbijające je. Mamy też do pomocy trzy przedmioty, które możemy użyć po przejściu każdej planszy na 3 gwiazdki, a są to magnes, który przyciąga do nas babeczki, które w trakcie zabawy trzeba zbierać, bąbel, który pozwala nam się odbijać i unosić po mapie oraz tarczę, która chroni nas przed np. kolcami. Każdego z tych przedmiotów możemy mieć max 3, więc najlepiej regularnie ich używać, bo się nie stunuje ich więcej.
Map jest dużo, a za każdą 3 gwiazdki do zdobycia, co daje ich aż 384. Jest też coś dla miłośników achivmentów. Mamy ich w grze 30 i nie są szczególnie trudne, ale zależy od osoby, bo do ostatniego achivmenta potrzeba zdobyć aż 381 z 384 gwiazdek, co nie jest łatwe, ale możliwe.
Wielu może powiedzieć, że to gierka jakich wiele, ale jednak jest coś w niej takiego, co przyciąga i sprawia, że chce się grać dalej. Przejście jej zajmuje ze 4h, ale jak się próbuje wymasterować na wszystkie osiągnięcia to może zając tak jak mnie ok. 8h.
Produkcję oceniam 10/10 i jak najbardziej ją polecam, bo na promocji można ją dorwać za ok. 3zł, więc jak ktoś lubi gry strategiczne typu "Zup" to nie ma co się zastanawiać tylko jak najszybciej kupować :D

FINALLY, after who-knows-how-long, I got this game working on my laptop again. Of course, I wasn't the only one having this issue after seeing the Steam community discussions on this game, so now I took the initiative and got every single achievement in this game, which I shoulda done five years ago, but now I did it.
Anyway, there's really nothing special about this game, what you see is what you get. However, I found the music and sound effects to be kinda grating (the cat literally sounds like a Mario shy guy for whatever reason), and not to mention some of the achievements can be glitched at first glance. But they're definitely possible to unlock. However, I personally suggest against it, as this game is only six hours long.
