Camp Sunshine

Camp Sunshine is a 16-bit blood-soaked Horror RPG that pits you as Jez, who is dropped off at Summer Camp. He awakes in the middle of the night to discover blood everywhere, a rampaging killer on the loose dressed in a mascot costume and himself involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse! It's up to you to piece together the puzzle, and relive the past of the Summer Camp Slasher in order to put a stop to this night of terror.

I like this story. But ,even when I choose the easiest mode, this bear moves insanely fast when it spawns, often killing me, forcing me to reload constantly, and frequently disrupting the gameplay flow.

Nothing too interesting or note worthy to say. The game has some easter eggs like a reference to Nightmare on Elm Street and some nice soundtracks, some quirky (but forgetable) characters but also mediocre puzzles and no combat - just running away. Overall pretty meh but can make for ok-ish experience. No achievements. Played better, played worse.

Took me under 4h to finish with lots of walking around and checking every corner.

Nice game, but goosebumps for kids. It can be refined, since some of its mechanics and graphics seem slightly bugged. Despite that, it's a good game.

Even if it looks repetitive, the developers made a good job not to bore the player. Apart for some puzzles, the majority of the adventure constitutes in find objects and use them on specific other location around the camp.

The story isn't too original, but it doesn't mean it's not well written, and the developers put a lot of attention on animating every cutscene.

Despite my preference for psychological, Gothic horror, this game is both a good pastime with an interesting story.

Esse é aquele indie que apesar de curto(em torno de 3 horas), é extremamente bem feito. A história é um show a parte, tem vários mistérios e permanece interessante do começo ao fim.
O gameplay é o clássico do survival horror (só não possui combate), onde devemos procurar itens para abrir portas, gavetas e resolver puzzles para avançar(nada muito complexo), enquanto o Ursinho Sushine persegue Jez o tempo todo. Aliás, por falar no Jez, ele é um bom protagonista

Camp Sunshine on Steam is a complete disappointment. This retro horror/adventure game was released in 2016, and we've been loyal fans ever since. However, it's clear that the developers have given up on us Steam players.

While Xbox, PS4, and PS5 players get to enjoy achievements and a complete experience, we're stuck with an incomplete game. It's unacceptable that the developers would neglect their Steam audience like this.

The lack of support and updates is a clear indication that the developers don't care about their Steam players. We're left with a game that's missing a crucial part of the experience.

AVOID THIS GAME IF YOU'RE A STEAM PLAYER

If you're a Steam player, there's no reason to waste your time or money on this game. The developers have made it clear that they don't value their Steam community.

UPDATE: I've tried to reach out to the developers about this issue, but they've ignored my concerns. It's clear that they're not interested in supporting their Steam players.

Camp Sunshine is a 16-bit horror RPG with a retro look that I usually don’t go for, but the story won me over. It gets darker as you progress, which kept me interested throughout.

The gameplay is simple to pick up and the puzzles are decent - not too hard but still enjoyable. I finished the game in just over 3 hours and didn’t encounter any bugs on PC.

If you’re into short horror games with a retro style, it’s worth checking out.

Хорошая игра!!! А что делает хорошую игру? Ее делает музыка и атмосфера и они тут отменные.
А вот графика на любителя, мне лично не зашла, стиль убогих игр на SNES от LJN, но звук и атмосфера с лихвой компенсируют это.
Жалобы по поводу геймплея вообще не понимаю... А как вы представляете его в ужастике? Бегай да собирай предметы и разматывай клубок истории. Вообще отлично реализовано все!

Повторюсь, единственный минус, это графика (лично для меня), а так идеальная маленькая игра с шикарной атмосферой, музыкой и крепким сюжетом и геймплеем.

I absolutely LOVED this game! Despite the playtime registered it took me 6h:45m to complete, but this was spent offline while travelling.

I had just finished Terror at Oakheart and was looking for something similar and this more than fit the bill!

Where to start? At the beginning I guess. I really liked the premise and concept, it grabbed me from the off and never really let go. The story was strong throughout.

I LOVED the Easter-egg type references to the movies that inspired it, and it is a testament to the wonderful pixel artists that I was able to recognise the tiny pixelated movie posters - great job!

I did find the antagonist a bit annoying at times - the way he could spawn right next to you at times, but I soon learned that if you kept stocked up on food this was bearable (no pun intended :).

As well as great graphics the sound design was BRILLIANT - I particularly loved the strangulated sounds some victims made. The game was full of humour, and I found one hilariously brilliant easter-egg just by chance [spoiler] (think of the age old struggle between men and women in the bathroom). [/spoiler]

I also found a bit of help along the way. [spoiler] The 'heating engineer' had extremely deep pockets (at least during my playthrough). [/spoiler]

The puzzles were not too taxing - apart from one end game one, which required a bit of trial and error - but they were all enjoyable.

Finally, I have to admit I almost shed a tear at the end!

To sum things up, when I love a game I always look to see what other games the devs have released and I was over the moon to see they had made a prequel (Sunshine Manor) so this was an instant purchase and I cannot wait to play this, and will keep an eye out for future releases from this team.

Bueno la verdad es que es un juego muy divertido, lo vale totalmente.
No esperaba mucho pero la verdad es que estoy bastante sorprendido, la historia es increíblemente oscura, el escenario está re bien hecho, tiene algunos secretos para descubrir y los puzzles son bastante buenos.
Y la "batalla" final también me pareció algo bastante original.
Ahora quedo con muchas ganas de probar Sunshine Manor y lo que sea que piense hacer este estudio más adelante.

Esi sí, hay algunas cosas que no me gustaron. En primer lugar el juego no tiene traducción al español, si entendés inglés buenísimo sino no sé que tanto podrás avanzar. En segundo lugar, hay un tema con la movilidad, ya sea que juegues con teclado o joystick solo te podés mover en 4 direcciones y siempre hay un poco de delay, lo aunque llegué a acostumbrarme al principio fue muy molesto.

Nie ma co się zbytnio rozpisywać, przejdę do konkretów:

Plusy:
a) bardzo ładna, czytelna pikselowa grafika
b) historia dosyć ciekawa jak na tytuł z motywem slashera
c) losowość pojawienia się killera w rożnych miejscach
d) muzyka jak i efekty dźwiękowe na wysokim poziomie
e) zagadki, które wymagają kilku chwil zastanowienia
f) w lokacjach możemy zaobserwować wiele smaczków np.: Laleczka Chucky, kostium Freddyego Krugera, maska Jasona
z "piątku 13-nastego" oraz automaty z grą Mortal Kombat czy Street Fighter
g) mimo, iż wiesz czego się spodziewać, nadal spotkanie zabójcy potrafi podnieść ciśnienie

Minusy:
a) stosunkowo krótka produkcja (osobiście na minus)
b) w ostatniej lokacji sporadycznie pojawia się problem z działaniem gry, który uniemożliwia jej przejście (nie wiem czy to problem globalny czy tylko u mnie występujący)
c) czasami miejsca do zapisu stanu gry umieszczone w złym momencie, przez co po śmierci musimy oglądać te same "cut scenki"
d) poziom trudności ( w moim przypadku normalny) nie stanowi większego wyzwania

Reasumując, gra godna polecenia - 7/10

Quando eu penso em um jogo de terror, penso em Camp Sunshine. Um jogo magnífico: a trama slasher combinou demais com a história do acampamento. A simple 80's slasher-inspired romp. There's not too much going on here. Most of the game is just walking around, searching for objects, and running from the killer.
There's a couple of enjoyable puzzle-sections that are the standouts of the game for me. But even in the other sections, Camp Sunshine manages to entertain. The horror is played for laughs, in that flash game kind of way so your enjoyment of the game may hinge on your opinion of that kind of humor.
The story is simple, with most of the game involving finding journal entries and watching backstory cutscenes.
For the price, it's worth the try.

[b]Camp Sunshine[/b] é uma experiência maravilhosa para quem gosta de jogos em 16 bits, com cenários impecáveis e uma encantadora história que me faz lembrar alguns jogos que aproveitei em consoles como [i]SNES[/i] e [i] PSOne[/i], seu ponto forte não é puzzles, mas sim a história que o faz ficar cada vez mais viciado em descobrir qual será o desfecho, que por mais que seja meio óbvio, é o que fará você descobrir tudo o que está rolando sem deixar nenhum detalhe escapar.

Aliás, para os fãs de filme de terror, esse jogo possuí muito easter-eggs que fará você caçá-los para descobrir se existe mais algum que passou despercebido.

Sem mais, podem comprar que não vão se arrepender.

Ich habe das Spiel im Rahmen einer Kickstarter Kampagne des Entwicklers zusätzlich erhalten. Camp Sunshine gefällt mir wirklich sehr gut. Wir spielen Jez, der von seiner Mutter an einem Sommercamp abgesetzt wird. Schon in der ersten Nacht kommt es zu, ich nenne es einfach mal "Komplikationen", und es stellt sich heraus, dass das Camp eine düstere Vergangenheit hat. Wir müssen durch das Camp laufen und einige Gegenstände suchen, woduch uns nach und nach die Geschichte des Camps und seiner düsteren Vergangenheit erzählt wird. Wir treffen auf viel Blut, einige Easter Eggs und sogar Überlebende auf der Suche nach Tagebuchseiten. Dabei werden wir immer wieder vom einem pelzigen Killer gejagt.

Das Spiel enthält ein paar leichte Rätsel, viel Blut und eine Menge Witz in 16-bit-Optik.
Vor allem für den Preis eine absolute Empfehlung für Fans von Retro Grafik und Horror-Klassikern wie Freitag der 13., Chucky die Mörderpuppe oder Nightmare on Elmstreet.

Если вы обожаете такие слешеры как: Хеллоуин, Пятница 13, Кошмары на улице вязов, то эта игра вам точно зайдет. Эта игра одна большая дань уважения культуре 80-х, множество отсылок на слешеры того времени, а так же игры и другие фильмы того времени. Жаль что эта игра не так популярна как другие игры жанра маскот хорорр, потому что Sunshine Bear очень запоминающийся антоганист. В общем:+ Интересный геймплей + Приятная графика + Неплохой сюжет (Хоть и и много клише, но в этой игре это работает) + Фансервис + Несколько секретов [spoiler] (В такой игре не ждешь встретить Бигфута или Инопланетян, но было забавно) [/spoiler] - Продолжительность игры (Хотелось бы задержаться в этой игре подольше) Игра стоит своих денег, особенно для фаната слешеров 80-х.

13일의 금요일에서 쭉쭉빵빵 미녀 요소가 빠진 게임.
사실 별 기대도 안했는데 스토리도 있고 중간중간 깜놀 요소에 음산한 분위기, 시도 때도 없이 튀어나오는 곰돌이 등 클락타워와는 좀 다르지만 잘 만들어진 공포게임. 곰돌이가 나타날 때 특유의 효과음이나 보이스도 게임과 상당히 잘 어우러진다.

참고사항
- 마지막 결전의 장소는 자살일기를 손에 넣은 장소(맵 맨 아래 왼쪽)
- 난이도 공원 산책 수준(이지)을 선택했는데 겜이 상당히 쉬워서 좀 더 높은 난이도를 고르지 않은 것을 후회함.
어려운 거 싫어하면 맨 위에거 하면 될 듯.
- 영어가 좀 나오긴 하는데 어려운 수준은 아님. 스토리가 정직하게 흘러가기 때문에 혹시 영어가 딸려도 상황 보면 대충 이해 될 수준
- 성적 요소는 없지만 잔인한 요소는 좀 나옴(엄청 잔인한 건 아니고 2d 수준)

"Partial Controller Support" is quite literal, here. Only part of my controller works in this game. I can use the buttons to advice the dialogue in the opening cut-scene. However, as soon as it's time to move - nothing. Neither the stick nor the d-pad can get the character take a single step.

This is the type of game that you cannot review [i]seriously[/i] in my opinion. So I'm not gonna go into detail with everything but this was a really fun game to play on an evening with friends (it took me around 2 hours to finish it). Full price is not really worth it to be fair but anything below like 3$ is definitely worth your time and money.
The story was alright, nothing crazy but it kept me hooked. The characters are like-able and memorable too!

Though this top-down adventure looks and plays like an RPG Maker game, the finer touches set it off. The creepy lighting is good at generating jumpy moments despite the overall parodic nature of things. Your map of slasher-haunted Camp Sunshine is easy to use, and quest locations are marked so you don't ever need to whip out the ol' notebook. The horror movie references are sincere and don't feel forced ([i]most[/i] of the time).

While the humor is of the jejune, gross-out variety that ever appeals to eternal children like me, it's occasionally undercut by unpolished or just plain [i]flat[/i] writing -- the team could certainly have used an extra editor or two. A few rough patches, however, don't detract much from the experience. The story is actually pretty damned decent for the slasher genre, and there's always some new place to go, some new thing to see -- and that, friends, is one of the true strengths of short, well-made games like this: you'll never get bored, and the padding is never such that the fundamental [i]feel[/i] of the adventure has time to slip through your fingers. Mini-adventures for the win! We need more of 'em!

I loathe [i]Five Nights at Freddy's[/i], but I don't regret spending my Saturday morning running from this evil bear. I can't wait to see what the beefier prequel, [i]Sunshine Manor[/i], has to offer!

1. What's a 'Jez'?
2. Why does the kid say '♥♥♥♥' and '♥♥♥♥' in almost every sentence?
3. Why can he only sprint for about 4 seconds and takes almost 20 (!!) to regain his stamina after running out?
4. Why does the 'w' key not work in the menu, but 'a', 's' and 'd' do?
5. Why can't I use my Xbox 360 controller for this obvious RPGMaker game, even though it works in every other one? (Specifically, why doesn't the left stick or d-pad work, but the buttons do?
6. Why is the bear's voice so silly?
7. Why can I sleep/save in a blood-soaked bed without any reaction from the kid?
8. Who says 'hit the hay' and 'jammie jams'?

Este juego es muy interesante, ademas de que tiene una muy buena historia, me encanto todo. Los puzzles, los mapas, las grandes referencias a peliculas clasicas muy iconicas, la tematica es muy divertido aunque cabe aclarar que la dificultad no es tan alta a pesar de estar en la mas dificil, pero eso no quita que sea un buen juego. Just like any other camp experience, minus the kumbaya singing, pillow fighting and marshmallow roasting. Replaced by tons of compulsory outdoor activities like running for dear life, ambushed while inside and scouring for resources. Hey for all I know- that’s what it entails as I didn’t have the privilege, interest to go camping in person… The main agenda on the itinerary is hiding, evading a two-hit instant killer bear as you find 9 mementos and 10 diary pages much like what you had to do in [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/DeadeGuard98/recommended/772290/]Misao![/url]

How? They are the rewards of quests from NPCs whom range from trapped, indifferent, ignorant and or possessed to name a few. The order of which to stumble into first is up to you, your decrepit luck and where the bear winds up chasing you towards. To help you get through the night; food of questionable sanitation and expiration, a brightly colored-labelled live map and a trusty flashlight! Also, plenty of beds; some bloodstained and others just normal stained… for you to save your progress!

But it’s not just all leg-pumping and vein popping, there’s something in it for the nerds too. PUZZLES! The trial-and-error kind. Sounds like a hell of a time, the full outdoorsy spirit all in one night or rather 4-5 hours max. Submit that camp application to die sooner or not only to croak later~

1) Bear only appears [spoiler]indoors[/spoiler] after like [spoiler]30s[/spoiler]. So just exit and re-enter!

This is one those few games where the look itself isn’t overly graphically beautiful, although it’s not too shabby. Jez looks like a Pokemon trainer but instead of “catch them all”, he’s giving it his all. But I digress, it’s rather the style and period it is evocative of that gave me goosebumps, obviously!

The layout of the camp is not only passable, it is also feasible with hilarious knockoff posters of legendary horror films and other popular culture in that celebrated decade! There are even iconic props reimagined in glorious pixel art thereby pulling the trigger on your fanboying. Like being on the set of a cheesier, shared universe of Sleepaway Camp or a darker and more foreboding version of Jason’s Crystal Lake…

The sound design echoes that harrowing yet “giving you the geek trots” sentiment! With one mean electronica soundtrack that slays while the bear does his thing. Little sound effects like brandishing a machete off screen, stepping on a twig is enough to freeze you whole. That close-enough, shudder-sending and off-brand Freddy Kreuger deep voice. But in a cuddly, grizzly Totoro-like suit... It’s easy to feel like you’re rewatching those now-invaluable childhood memorabilia for the first time~

[h1]:) A CUB HALF FULL, KIND OF PERSON…[/h1]
Its plot is some fine slicing-and-dicing of [b]Friday The 13th (1980)[/b] in terms of campy and ill-fated premise. [b]Hatchet (2006)[/b] with the undeserved tragic parent-child dynamics and finally jolts of righteous self-awareness as evident from [b]The Final Girls (2015)[/b]!

But it isn’t merely an assemblage nor a homage of your rad and meta slashers… It cut ties there with a demented backstory that makes you choke a bit. Like downing a spiked beverage- one that you already love but it is especially refreshing and the mystery of what’s in it only adds to the tingle of excitement~

[h1]:) BEAR FALSE WITNESS?[/h1]
Remember the good ol’ days where horror could be both scary and amateurish but still full of pure adrenaline!? That’s what Camp Sunshine captured so stoically and unapologetically. True to its gory, slasher roots, it sometimes “breaks the rules” or rather it just masks them until you saw for yourself how screwed you are! They could strike from anywhere and anytime… Taking out those around you and eventually you!!

But it also goes meta and pokes fun at itself as well as at the horny teen, don’t do drugs mischievousness embedded in the genre. I’ve said it minutes in, I will say it again; it’s like being behind the scenes or even to the point of starring in your very own slasher! It’s surges of adrenaline, panic and knee-jerk sad reactions.

Of course, the suited & masked killer trope returns too- actually it never left! Half the fun of these sort of films was to suss out who is behind the party pooping. And what better simile is there for not knowing someone when they don such apparel~

The stamina bar was quite hassling, which I suppose was the point. But sometimes it felt flat out broken- with irregular rates of self-replenishing. Regardless of whether you stood still or brisk walked… Which begs the question why some items such as the energy drink or batteries even existed, because not once did they add to the challenge. And I don’t even mean that as a brag~

The story started out on the right foot, if not hurried that there wasn’t enough time to wear socks let alone shoes. But then grew incorrigible with what can only be seen as a strategically peculiar move towards establishing an in-game universe. With motivations that were never explained and it got too mumbo jumbo for me in all honesty…

Puzzles were tolerable and made sense-ish but evolved more into rubbish hindrances that slacked the pacing. Implemented at critically wrong moments that frustrated and removed me from what was going on. All to pad that runtime by just a smidge or add spice to an already seasoned stew~

Eine durchaus gelungene Hommage an Slasher der 80er gepaart mit typischem 70er Jahre Horror im Stile von Der Exorzist oder Amityville Horror. Das Spiel eignet sich perfekt wenn man etwas erleben will ohne sich voll auf die Steuerung konzentrieren oder schwierige Puzzles lösen zu müssen. Ich fühlte mich 4 Stunden gut unterhalten und der Song It´s a secret... zum Schluss hatte einen tollen 80er Vibe.

Camp Sunshine was a great game! I didn't know about this game until the Developer came to me and gave me a copy to try on stream (plus a copy of Sunshine Manor). My stream had SO much fun watching through the play through and many of them subsequently went to purchase the game on Steam. I LOVED all the other horror references and 70s/80s references in the game. It felt like a fun Friday the 13th-like game.

Pros:
*Story - finding all the memos really gave you an amazing in-depth story.
*Items - Lots of items to find and use
*Map was easy to use and know where to go when you found a "quest" character
*Multiple difficulty settings
*Multiple locations to save (any bed that had linen on it)

Cons:
*Music - Needed more background music
*No controller support
*Couldn't go into windowed mode to move game to a different screen

Camp Sunshine ist ein 16-Bit Horror-RPG vom Londoner Indie-Studio [b]Fossil Games[/b].

Wir erleben das Abenteuer von Jez, einem stereotypischen Teenager, der in einem Sommercamp Namens Camp Sunshine abgesetzt wird.
Jez hat nicht sonderlich viel Lust auf das Camp, aber es ist ja nur für eine Woche.
Schnell hat er die ersten Bekanntschaften geschlossen - unter anderem sein Zimmergenosse Jack.
Jack scheint ein netter Kerl zu sein, denn er bietet sofort an uns das Camp zu zeigen.
Doch da es bereits spät geworden ist, verschieben Jack und Jez ihr Vorhaben auf den nächsten Morgen.

Doch zu diesem Morgen, wird es leider nicht kommen...

Mitten in der Nacht wird unser Protagonist von einem unheimlichem Gelächter aufgeschreckt.
"Was war das?", fragt er sich. Er schaltet das Nachttisch-Lämpchen an, steht auf und versucht im halbdunklen Raum zu erkennen, was das Geräusch ausgelöst hat.
Da das sanfte Licht des Nachttisch-Lämpchens nicht ausreicht, greift er nach seiner Taschenlampe die er am Abend zuvor in seiner Schublade verstaut hatte.
Sein Blut in den Adern gefriert, als er den leblosen Körper seines Freundes Jack, auf dem mit Blut durchtränktem Teppich sieht. "Was zur Hölle passiert hier?! Ich muss Hilfe holen!", schießt es ihm durch den Kopf. Und so begibt er sich nach draußen.

Doch schnell wird ihm klar, dass die Gefahr immer noch im Dunkeln lauert.
Noch bevor ihn das Camp-Maskottchen - ein Bär - mit einem Metzgermesser zur Strecke bringen kann, weicht Jez gekonnt aus und sucht das Weite. Versteckt in einem Gebüsch wartet er ab, bis die Luft rein ist um sein Vorhaben fortzusetzen und nach Hilfe zu suchen.

Und damit wirft euch das Spiel direkt in ein düsteres Szenario ohne zu viel zu erklären.

[h2]Und so nimmt die Geschichte ihren Lauf[/h2]

Camp Sunshine verzichtet darauf den Spieler ständig an die Hand zu nehmen und lässt ihn stattdessen ein bisschen erkunden und Rätseln. Anfangs ist nicht jedes Gebäude im Camp betretbar, da uns die nötigen Schlüssel fehlen.
Doch schon bald bemerken wir, dass es Überlebende gibt.

Die Storyline von Camp Sunshine wird in Häppchen erzählt. Sie befasst sich mit der Geschichte eines jungen Paares, welches das Camp in der Vergangenheit geführt hatte.
Um mehr darüber zu erfahren müssen wir Tagebuchseiten finden, die im ganzen Camp verstreut sind.
Insgesamt gilt es 10 Seiten zu finden, um die vollständige Geschichte zu erleben.
Meistens sind diese Tagebuchseiten im Besitz der Überlebenden, die sie jedoch nicht so einfach rausrücken möchten. So werden wir auf verschiedene Nebenmissionen geschickt und müssen uns diese Seiten verdienen.

Ach ja... Und da ist ja noch dieser Killer-Bär, der uns an die Gurgel will...

Mir persönlich hat der Look von Camp Sunshine gut gefallen, vor allem wenn man bedenkt dass dieses Spiel laut Entwickler zu dritt entwickelt wurde. Mit meinem XBox One Controller hat sich die Steuerung teilweise nicht immer ganz "smooth" angefühlt, da das Spiel ausschließlich mit Steuerkreuz bedienbar ist. (Wenn man sich für den Controller entscheidet, Tastatur geht natürlich auch).
Die Atmosphäre fand ich sehr gut gelungen und auch die musikalische Untermalung hat gepasst.
Das Spiel fordert auf einer sehr angenehmen, leichten Ebene und nimmt sich in so mancher Hinsicht auch nicht ganz ernst.

Die hier genutzten Komponenten passen für mich alle sehr gut zusammen.
Wer ein kleines aber ambitioniertes Spiel sucht, was man auch nebenher mal spielen kann, der wird hier auf seine Kosten kommen.

[b]Camp Sunshine[/b] is set on camping grounds at night setting. Buildings and lodgings are made of wood to give the camp-like feel with forests surrounding them. Despite the overuse of the same-looking sprites, building interiors still look different because of their design composition. Some rooms might look similar to each other, but there is usually a thing or two that differs to make it not repetitive. I am most impressed with the map though. It is so detailed to give accurate info of where you are located by placing your position on it.

[h3]Story[/h3]
The story is told through diaries that are scattered on the camp. A small part of the backstory of what was happening to it will be told after you collected each diary, letting you know of 10 stories in total. The transition between the story and gameplay is done well to make you not get bored with them. The story is bite-sized and interesting enough to follow, and although it is predictable, I still liked the ending. It is told beautifully to give that heartwarming feeling while still leaving enough mystery for a sequel.

[b]Gameplay[/b]
The game is mostly focused on fetch quests. The quests will be spread throughout the whole camping grounds that you need to explore with a limited light source while avoiding a killer bear that is looking for you with their lovely knife. There is also a map that can help you to traverse the vast map easily. What I liked about the exploration is how you can explore the areas and solve the quests in any order that you want.

Although the main camp is quite easy to traverse because of the map, the game has three extra areas that can be confusing to traverse. People who tend to get lost in dungeons will have trouble exploring these areas and the limited light source might hinder them from seeing anything. However, you can always use a flashlight to expand your cone of vision. Personally, I didn't have trouble navigating through the areas, although I admit that I got lost a bit.

[b]"Lovely" Bear[/b]
The bear will spawn everywhere, instantly teleporting near your location if you spend a long time in it. The sudden appearance of the bear might freak you out, especially since you won't know where they are coming from. This makes it hard to dodge, especially if you are outside. There were a lot of occasions when I was running away, only to be greeted with the bear in the direction I was running to. Moreover, it's hard to tell when the bear despawns. I ended up looking for a building to enter to despawn it whenever it comes out.

The indoors aren't safe from the bear either. The bear will suddenly be teleported to a room, forcing you to exit the building to despawn it. However, sometimes they will spawn in a spot that blocks you from reaching the exit. Luckily, it takes two hits to kill you, and the bear will instantly disappear after the first hit. The bad thing is, your health-restoring item is limited. I only found ~10 in my playthrough, and I'm sure I already got most of them.

[b]Quests and Puzzles[/b]
The maps make it easy to find where you are supposed to go. You'll be able to see where you can find most key items and quest givers after you talked to them for the first time, saving your time from remembering them. Several shortcuts are also available throughout the camp to make your traveling easier. The fetch quests are usually fairly simple where you have to bring a certain item from another place back to the quest giver, although there is a tricky one that requires you to think a bit.

Two puzzle sections are also included in the game. They are not too hard, although you still need to think a bit to solve them. It's nice to see the variations besides the fetch quests in the game.

[b]Length and Difficulty[/b]
I finished the game in 2.8h in normal difficulty. There are 3 difficulties, although I'm not sure what the difference is. I didn't find any trouble in finishing the game except for one quest that is not related to the fetch quests. Since all quests aside from that one require you to fetch some objects, I thought that this particular quest requires you to do the same, which is not the case for this one.

The limited light source might be problematic to some people, but I found that the light source is quite big. You can also expand it with a flashlight, although you have limited batteries to use it all the time. Personally, I played most of the game without a flashlight just fine. There might be some times when it's easier to have a flashlight on, but you can always save it for these occasions if needed.

[h1]Conclusion[/h1]
[b]Camp Sunshine[/b] makes me rethink my impression of bears, especially those that have creepy smiling faces. The appearance of the bears always surprises me, making me freak out for an exit. The story itself is decently made, and the game has a lot of effort put into it. The most obvious one can be seen through the animations on the cutscenes: they look smooth and well made for a sprite game.

I enjoyed my time playing [b]Camp Sunshine[/b]. However, since the game is very short, you might want to buy it at a sale instead. You won't regret the purchase though if you like to play horror games and don't mind the numerous fetch quests.

Cute little rpg maker game
The story is not something huge, the art is cute and the gameplay is not a bit difficult.

Muy buen juego la verdad 10/10. De igual manera este juego merece mas apoyo y mas reconocimiento de parte de la comunidad por que no muchos juegos de 8 bits provocan la sensacion de miedo y suspenso a la vez. Asi que solo por eso le doy 1000/10 muy buen juego.

[h1] Story [/h1] Wir spielen einen Jungen Namens "Jez" und werden von unserer Mutter ins "Camp Sunshine" gebracht um dort 1 Woche Spaß zu haben. Kaum ist unsere Mutter wieder gegangen, verwandelt sich dieser Camp Ausflug in einen Kampf ums Überleben, denn etwas Böses ist hier am Werk

[h1] Gameplay [/h1] Hauptziel des Spiels ist es Tagebucheinträge zu finden um mehr über die Story und den Mörder herauszufinden. In jedem Tagebucheintrag wird außerdem immer ein bestimmter Gegenstand genannt, die wir finden müssen. Man kann die Gegenstände natürlich auch schon eingesammelt haben, bevor man das bestimmte Tagebucheintrag gelesen hat. Wir laufen durch das doch recht Große Camp und durchsuchen verschiedene Gebäude nach Gegenständen und treffen ab und an auch mal auf Überlebende, für die wir dann eine kleine Aufgabe erledigen müssen. Natürlich können wir dies alles nicht in ruhe und frieden erledigen, denn ein Killer in einem Bären Kostüm und mit einem Messer bewaffnet ist auf ständiger Jagd nach uns. Man kann jeweils einmal vom Killer getroffen werden ohne zu sterben, wenn dies passiert, verschwindet der Killer für eine gewisse Zeit. Natürlich können wir uns mit "Food" heilen um immer wieder einen Angriff auszuhalten. man kann dem Killer aber auch recht einfach ausweichen. Man hat eine Taschenlampe die natürlich Batterien benötigt aber doch sehr nützlich ist. Man kann auch sprinten aber auch nicht lange, Stamina lässt sich durch "Energiedrinks" wieder aufladen oder wenn man eine Kurze Zeit lang wartet. Es gibt zudem auch ein paar recht Nette Kleine Rätsel zu lösen und einige Nette Easter Eggs für Horror Film Fans. Die Atmosphäre, die Musik und die Soundeffekte sind wirklich Top

Surprisingly decent, though a tad overpriced.

I'd describe Camp Sunshine as a modern horror game made in a JRPG engine. You search for the 8 pages of a diary to learn about and to defeat a masked serial killer. Along the way you encounter NPCs who need you to fetch stuff, corpses and drawers to loot for items, and evade the Killer by running and hiding in bushes.

Obviously, the gameplay isn't deep but the developers put a ton of work into the theme. The atmosphere is top notch and the developers played to their strengths. While the story is stereotypical and shallow, they literally hang their green and red sweaters of inspiration on the walls. It's full of references without compromising the tension they've created.

At the end of the day, this feels like a passion project. Just like the movies it's tries to emulate, it has more heart than it does budget but this helps it shine. The devs didn't set out to win GOTY, but to create a fun horror experience and they succeeded.

It's not deep, it's not long lasting, but it's well-made. If you love horror games and movies this is well-worth a sale purchase.

背景：男主被妈妈送来熊岛参加夏令营，结果当晚舍友就被杀了，男主不得不起身开始调查，发现有个穿着熊玩偶的人在展开屠杀，随着调查深入，岛上的谜团被慢慢解开。。。
优点：地图好评，不迷路；独立游戏，美术不偷工减料。
缺点：存档点较少；存在要素收集，可能会失去耐心。
总结：没中文，容易死，来回找东西。如果不是特别感兴趣，谨慎入手。

Camp Sunshine ist ein RPG-Maker-Spiel welches mich wieder ein bisschen mit dem RPG-Maker versöhnt hat. Es verzichtet auf rundenbasierte Kämpfe und schickt einen einfach in die Nacht hinaus zu einem blutigen Katz-und-Maus-Spiel. Typisch 80er spielt es in einem Feriencamp und ein Maskenmörder möchte uns ans Leder. Nun gilt es ihn zu stoppen und nach und nach zu entschlüsseln wer unter der Maske steckt und warum diese Person so geworden ist wie sie ist. Man muss looten, um Essen für die Gesundheit und Batterien für die Taschenlampe zu besorgen, man muss fliehen vor dem blutrünstigen Bär und Fetchquests für die paar Überlebenden erledigen. Die Fetchquests sind eher langweilig, aber man verzeiht es dem Spiel, weil es mit schöner Pixelgrafik und einer gut erzählten und präsentierten Geschichte punktet. Die Schockmomente sind human und die Quests lösbar, auch aufgrund einer sehr guten Map die man gleich zu Spielbeginn einsammelt.
Definitiv eines der besseren RPG-Maker-Spiele.

- Drei Schwierigkeitsgrade

Great combat free survival horror with awesome voice-acting for the antagonist which reminded me a lot of Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street.
The fact that it was made in RPGMaker never makes itself too obvious, only the grid based nature of the movement kinda gives of that feeling.

Very enjoyable experience. Very creepy, actually made me jump a few times when the killer popped up out of nowhere. Give whoever the voice actor for the killer was, and whoever cast him, a damn raise because he was amazing, perfect psycho killer voice. Also loved all the fantastic horror movie references scattered around. Very much looking forward to playing Sunshine Manor when it get released!

This is not a must of the genre, but it's a really nice game. The creepy atmosphere is very clean and the few light makes you feel vulnerable. The game is a little short(you can end it in 2H if you know where you have to go, max 3H) and easy, but it's enjoyable. Maybe the story isn't perfect, but Fossil Games did a pretty good job with this game and I liked the credits with "the special level" in the end. Mainly, You should buy it if you like the genre and the pixel art : 7.5 / 10

A little homage to 80s horror movies, full of references to various films and franchises. You can finish it in around 3 hours.
If you're into 16 bit SNES-style graphics, analog synth scores and slasher movies it's worth a look.

Story was everywhere and the pacing was too fast. There is no real explination for whats going on in the game and when they do try to answer, it only makes more questions. It also lagged at the end of the game, and I've never had that ever happen before on a game made in RPG Maker. It relied too much on the whole 80's horror premise and tried to gather the player's interest on nostalgia, but fails in that regard.

Muni d'un esprit fermé, on peut penser que les jeux d'horreur se limitent aux titres en 3D
(Resident Evil, Dead Space, Siren...), car il est vrai que ces types de jeux on beaucoup servis à définir le genre actuel.
Au final on se rend compte via "Camp Sunshine" que le genre est plus riche que ça.
Si la mise en scène n'est pas aussi terrifiante que dans d'autres jeux (cela dépends des goûts certes), l'ambiance horrifique est bien respecté et provoque de bon moments de stress par moment. En particulier quand l'ours tueur apparaît dans la peine ombre.
Toutefois j'aurais apprécié que des situations imprévues soient plus présentes (ours caché derrière du mobilier...) car la dangerosité du tueur ne se fait pas assez ressentir. L'environnement et l'ambiance sont plus là pour ça.
Optez pour le mode difficile de base si vous recherchez ce challenge, il devrais être meilleur que le mien.

Globalement "Camp Sunshine" est un jeu d'aventure horrifique où vous incarnez un jeune campeur au sein d'un univers macabre.
Axé d'un point de vue Gameplay sur l'exploration et la recherche d'indices, votre but sera de comprendre les raisons de cette tuerie et de vaincre l'ours tueur afin de vous échapper de cet enfer. Le tout devrais vous occuper environ 4 heures.
Si l'histoire dramatique est plutôt intéressante, sachez que le jeu ne soit dispo qu'en anglais. De même, les touches du clavier ne sont pas remappables. Ainsi si vous jouer via le clavier, privilégiez les touches directionnelles pour vous déplacez. Moins chiant que le "WASD" anglais. Enfin, si vous avez perdus patience dans la recherche d'indice (car vous avez l'obligation de trouver tous les artefacts pour accéder à la fin), sachez qu'un glossaire est dispo sur steam pour vous aiguiller. Merci la communauté.

Bref, en soi "Camp Sunshine" est un bon petit jeu d'horreur en 2D. Dommage qu'une exploration un peu trop insistante et une difficulté moindre viennent entacher cela.
