This wonderful gem of a game is so charming and lovely. If you are are a fan of story games, you'd definitely appreciate this diamond in the rough.

I chuckled, I laughed, I cried. Thank you so very much Party for Introverts. It's not often a game could make me feel so deeply.

After my first time opening the game up, I did not stop until the sun came up and I had to tear myself away from the screen. I could go on and on singing praises about this enthralling game. I do also have to give it a big bonus for having a pettable cat in it too.

Tolstoy said that "one must believe in hapiness in order to be happy", and so in that same spirit, I hope that one day I will see a sequel to this work of art in the future.

If you're going to purchase a story game, a narrative game, a game purely for a want of a creative narrative or just something to nearly shead to tears to, Cabernet is your game.

It's stories are beautifully crafted and woven, it's artstyle is gorgeous and sometimes is desktop background worthy, it's plot points are fantastic and every singe character I got invested in and with some choices, reloaded my saves countless times to try and get the outcomes I felt were the best for the ones I loved most.

All of this culminated in a fantastic climax that felt like my almost 20 hours of gametime was more than justified and with that only being one of the possible runs and ending deviations I could have gotten, for multiple characters and the main story.

I cannot recommend this game enough. 10/10

Amazing game.
Has a main story as well as many secondaries with tons of choices that impact the final outcame.
Tha amount of investigation that went into this game is huge: not only for the fantastic creatures lore, but also the literature (book titles in game are real world novels) and the social and political dynamics. Everything comes together here.
The voice acting and music add so much to the immersiveness of Cabernet too.
I strongly recommend this game as for puzzle and story-rich game fans.

Cabernet was a game that I've wanted to check out for awhile. There's something about vampire games that tend to have an interesting reflection on what is life. Especially since at least 1 of the characters is dead. It is with this in mind that I played March 2026's Slow Club game.

Cabernet follows a recently turned vampire named Liza as she navigates what her life is after death. It is, for the most part, very slice of life as you have options to practice medicine, read, and interact with the locals. Certain characters require different knowledge stats to get the most out of their storyline. As LIza goes about her undeath, she gains experience and ranks up as a vampire You can then increase her knowledge anyway you choose. Her dresses also help with this as they provide stat bonuses, as well as reading books to increase her knowledge permantly.

The gameplay is best described as an interactive novel. The characters stand there and converse with each other or LIza comments about what is found. It sometimes falls into the tell category. Thankfully, the writing is pretty good as it tells a fairly interesting story for it's 10-12 hour play time. Most of the time, it's just making choices and walking around. There are a few puzzles, though those are few and far between. The main challenge is figuring out what to do as your choices eventually compound and is seen in the ending.

Graphically, the characters are fairly well animated for the few poses that they do. It's like they're puppets. And this fits the narrative theme of them being actors or fulfilling some sort of role. It's a little weird to see characters turn clear for them to sit in a chair. I get that animating can be time consuming; this game makes the player slow down and focus on the moment. It might get tiring, it would fit the theme of the game.

Musically, the game is rather enjoyable to listen to. The voice acting is well done.

Cabernet is one of those games that shows promise of its developer and it mainly fulfills those promises. It's not a scary game despite it's supernatural tropes. This is one of those games that's best enjoyed when you begin to unwind a little with some tea, preferably outside on the porch with the wind rustling the leaves. It's a solid story to sink your teeth into.

The controls can be a bit clunky, and the game has some minor bugs at times. Be sure to save every morning!

The story is well written, the characters are just magnificent, the player character is lovely, and the ending left me feeling absolutely gutted with emotions. In all honesty I can not sing the praises of this game enough.

Everything in this game is beautiful, the art is unique, the writing holds weight, the characters shine and the story tickles the gothic whimsy in my brain. Fun game. One playthrough took me around 8,5 to 9 hours, doing most but not all sidecontent. It seems like there's a fair number of ways for different plotlines to end and various different endings so there should be some replay value there; I'll probably revisit the game sometime in the future.

The controls can be a little wonky in my opinion, but it's not too much of a bother.

Such an amazing game. You can tell how much heart went into it, which is exactly why I love indie games so much nowadays. The story is sweet and grim (we're dealing with vampires after all), the characters well developed, and you can't help but get attached to the setting and its people. I have minor qualms with the game, like how the controls are a bit wonky at times, but have otherwise LOVED the experience and can't wait to see what the studio will come up with next.

Despite the macabre undertones, Cabarnet is a very cozy game about addiction, humanity, and the power of one's words.

While I overall enjoyed the narrative or Carbarnet and would recommend it to thoses who like story-focused games, it has a very slow start and suffers from introducing too many characters and side quests all at once. Then again, being compelled to complete as many as these tale as I can is a testament to the game's design.

The story is so good! I love the backstory of all the different characters. Everyone you meet has their own story, and they all have a reason for being there and an impact on the game. It was really nice learning about all the vampires and humans, as well as the lore of the other characters and mythical beings you meet. The choices you make shape Liza, and you can really see and feel the impact on the characters. Sometimes you don’t notice the effects until later down the line. This game is also very replayable because different choices can lead to different outcomes.
10/10, I would definitely recommend it!

Не хватит слов чтобы описать насколько же мне понравилась данная игра. Это настоящая находка где собрано все что я люблю: от стиля эпохи до геймплея. Видно что эту игру сделали с душой, к тому же мне очень нравиться музыкальное сопровождение и актеры озвучки (особенно голос Лизки). Для меня большой плюс что игра на английском, так как мне нравиться учить этот язык, а здесь я увидела много интересных выражений и фраз. Увлекательный сюжет, сложные выборы, привлекательные и глубокие персонажи. Игра кажется меланхоличной, философской и действительно заставляет задуматься о смерти, жизни и бытье, это трогает струны души и ты действительно сопереживаешь героям. Лично я хотела забрать от первого прохождения как можно больше всего, что могла, делая полную Санта-Барбару из интриг, уловок, романов и поворотов) И то за все 23 часа детального изучения всей игры я понимаю, что мне еще есть за чем вернуться и что посмотреть. Сейчас планирую немного отдохнуть, чтобы позже вернуться и закрыть игру на все достижения) Всем советую, не пожалеете потраченного времени! (надеюсь найду время и для того, чтобы нарисовать фан-арт)

One the best story RPGs I have ever played. However I won't say this game is flawless, it has some issues, but these issues I'm speaking of were already fixed a half year ago. As for story, it's simple yet very unique, it takes elements from eastern folklore, which is great because I too am eastern european and have not seen many games taking advantage of our stories. If I had to say one thing that the game gave me a lot to think about, it would be how I could live with myself for centuries, accepting the person I am now and how I would change under certain circumstances. This game really showed me that even story set in 19th century can have as much impact as stories set in Sci-fi or fantasy.

The narrative base of Cabernet is okay, but I honestly don’t see why it got so many positive reviews. The controls are clunky, and the protagonist’s voice acting feels amateurish compared to the rest of the cast.

The game is mildly enjoyable, but it’s forgettable. You’ll play it once and likely never come back. Not worth the price.

Nice, cozy, emotional. Acceptable storytelling, although in the lategame some actions are illogically forced. I mean logically Liza could do many things the other way, more rational or more complex. But it seems okay. Also, savegame mechanic is a little bit annoying.

After I played the demo I wasn't sure if the game is for me but I decided to buy it because it was on a sale and I'm glad I did it. I just finished my first playthrough and this game grown on me pretty well. Much more choices matter than it seems at that time, there weren't much puzzles but I really liked how they aren't obviously easy and some actually require thinking with basic cultural knowledge as an davantage or the ability to look things up. The characters are very likeable and the player can influence their fate to say the least. The sidequest are very touching. And of course I have to mention that the music is absolutely masterful!

I find it impressive how many branching paths a game of such a small team has. Every character can die, what will influence the story. Even small decisions can influence the story and the ending of character stories. You can raise your humanity and nihilism (good and evil), what will unlock new dialoged options. There are skill checks for Arts, Literature, Science, and Politics; topics Liza is interested in and can level up. I like the addition of voice acting. It is pretty solid, but often it feels like its people reading scrip alone in front of the computer, instead of people interacting together.

The voice acting and words choice doesn’t always reflect the old easter Europe setting the game is trying to go for. It is definitely not a good historical visual novel. but this is not what it needs to be. It still didn’t break the immersion for me. Halfway trough the game I stopped taking the setting seriously and just concentrated on the character stories.

Cabernet writing feels like a YA novel or a school play. The prologue and the first few chapters have a very solid writing, but as the story progresses the writing gets worse until we reach an extremely rushed ending. The Countess who you meet in the prologue, is absent the whole game and then appears as the big bad in the end. The whole climbing the vampire ranks and high Nobel life is almost completely irrelevant in the story. “The Countess has invited you to a world of decadence and intrigue. What price does she ask you to pay?” I don’t even know what this quote from the steam page is supposed to mean.

One review on steam wrote “The ending made me sick and I start to regret that i bought this game” what made me curious what the ending is. Rushed, with no foreshadowing, and overly graphic for no reason. I showed screenshots from the two rooms the reviewer is probably referring to, to my wife and she said it didn’t need to be drawn so graphic. It doesn’t reflect the rest of the story that did touch on heavy topics, like alcoholism and murder, but it was nowhere near [spoiler] a human blood farm with cut up, skinned, headless, blood drained bodies and a massive graphic, bloody, human blood farm. [/spoiler]. The epilogue (depending on what ending you got) is nice and at least saves the last hour of gameplay little bit.

The best part of the story is the character stories The writing is significantly better, people’s stories intertwine, you can develop romantic feelings for some of them (and you can date multiple peoples of both genders) and you need to check you calendar because not everything can be done every day and some quests have deadlines.

The game looks great, I love the art style and I find it very fitting to the setting. The animation reminds me of old flash games. No complains here.

Oh boy, if I could give the game mixed review I could. UI bugs, visual glitches, models and layers overlapping, broken quest that sometimes fix them self and sometimes stay broken permanently. I played Cabernet as a part of gaming club. I encountered an awful lot of visual bugs, but some other members experienced permanently broken story quests or game crashes.

[h3] lack of QoL [/h3]
You can only save at the vanity in your room. So, if something breaks you can lose up to 30 min of progress or more if you forgot to save. I developed a habit of going back to my room after every important interaction just to be save.
The game is pretty much a visual novel, but it is missing all of the QoL a standard visual novel would have. The saving system is one point, no way to skip text quickly, no way to skip to unseen text, no text log, and I would personally like more save slots. This makes multiple playthroughs tedious, and the lacks of visual novel QoL + the game breaking bugs, I don’t see myself replaying the game any time soon.

I’m happy the game was part of a game club, and I didn’t have to pay a lot for the game key. Definitely wait of a sale.

I feel like this is a really charming and quirky game about being as serious or silly a vampire as you would like. I love vampire stories, and the game has a good number of branching paths. The ambience and lore from Eastern Europe are well-depicted, but the writing itself doesn’t reflect the time at all. Cabernet depicts the vampire fantasy well, and it is definitely one of the best ones I can think of. The game has many bugs and some even game breaking, what is a shame.

Review with spoilers:
There are a lot of interesting and fun things/mechanics about this story. The fact that you can impact how good or bad Liza, the main character, is with multiple actions and choices. The premise is intriguing and the art style beautiful. The glossary is a fun addition and we love to see some Eastern European rep.

However there are a few things that leave a bitter taste in our mouths.

First off, the Hussar:
The Hussar gets introduced as an intriguing and fun character. Charming and a helpful hand who shows the ways of vampirism to Liza (game mechanic exposition).

There are options in which Liza can express that she sees Hussar romantically, but it gets revealed that he’s gay. When you finish his quest he just leaves after you perform "heart surgery" on him in a hookah bar lol T-T. Believe me out of the romantic options the Hussar would be not only one of the most intriguing characters, but also a fun and charming personality, but that’s the thing he’s strictly gay and not a love interest. A different reviewer phrased it wonderfully themselves: either be a homewrecker, pick a female vampire, pick a drunk cheater or a stereotypical bookworm with not the most flattering sideburns.

Since this game in the end of the day doesn’t have that much action going for itself it would more so be classified as a vampiric slice of life. There are some events here and there, but it’s not plot/action heavy.

Slice of life can get a bit tedious and romance can motivate the player to stay interested. In the end of the day Hussar’s arc is short, he appears as a fun nice character, then gets heart surgery, then leaves without a proper goodbye.

It feels a bit like the writers were biased about the romance in regards to Liza with a clear preference of Liza being gay. It feels like they made the male options as shtty as possible while dangling a fun male love interest in front of the player to then rip him away and leave you with a cheater and Roman. Who isn’t a bad romance option, it just feels like the developers put effort in making the girl love interests be drawn "prettily" and made roman with these insane sideburns and the other guy is just a red flag. Idk if the developers are lesbian and did this just to force the players to give Liza a girlfriend or keep her single for those who wanting to make Liza straight or if the Hussar arc was a dig at women who like men like Hussar, just to fw girls who like the charming dark bad boy.

It feels done with intention idk if that is far sought, but it’s either that or bad writing. The Hussar arc is unsatisfying and cut so short. If he’s so "in love" with his dead boyfriend why didn’t he die with him or why hasn’t he stepped into the sunlight yet to join him in death. You can’t even hide behind the excuse that the Countess ordered him not to off himself, because when he’s free he just plans to continue living his life.

Then it's the same thing with other arcs. Ones that draw you in and seem interesting then the conclusion is: Arban found out the name of the person who turned her, but they didn’t even face her, but we’re somehow led to believe she’s satisfied with that. Then Petya is just gonna live his life in a doll now? And he’s okay with that because he can continue making dolls? It would be more merciful to end him. What kind of life is that T-T

It feels like there’s a few interesting characters but they also become more and more dull as time goes by. In the beginning there’s excitement because you expect secrets, action and vampire society, but that’s not really what you get. For us it felt sooooo tedious to get through. Continuing the game just started feeling like a chore.

There are some cool things that really drew us in, but then it ended up feeling empty and characters that felt so promising just kinda didn’t live up to the hype we first felt meeting them.

There are good things, there really are, but I would not buy this game at full price, because it feels like a lot of research and thought went into details that aren’t by far as important as actual story and characters. It’s cool there’s actual books you can read from that time with a quote and describtion each, but actual character acrs are so simplified and leave you feeling like "that’s it?".

Would absolutely recommend for the vibe, but we feel kind of robbed from a cool slavic vampire society story with fun (non-biased) love interests filled with mystery. So if that's what you're here for I wouldn't recommend that this game will (fully) satisfy that craving.

Cabernet is a wonderfull game, with interesting characters, a great storyline, beautiful artfork, and great music, one of the best vampire games around, its really easy to get sucked into the world.

玩了20个小时，完成三周目左右，不知道为什么特别容易打出坏结局，只要是向伯爵夫人或者市长妥协都会出现坏事（当然，结局时的bgm也很恐怖，如此血腥），如果和恶灵合作会变成东欧版癫火，这版的bgm非常劲爆，但我最喜欢的还是千禧年到来的结局。很高兴看见一切结束后的丽莎回到小镇，通过往日种种，玩家能够和倾注了时间和精力的角色一起回忆这段故事，并知道故事之外的补充故事。美术和音乐也做得很好，叙事完整流畅，虽然不知道是电脑原因还是游戏原因游玩过程中出现了一些小小的bug，但大体上没什么问题。很喜欢这部作品的叙事，在虚实交互的舞台上讲述了一个经典而优美的吸血鬼故事，从现代眼光来看它无疑有哥特的部分，阴郁、华丽而忧伤的美觉体验正是吸血鬼题材的魅力之一，但也同样从现代眼光来看，这是一个在虚无、存在与人性之间游离和讨论的故事。衷心希望丽莎和她的朋友们在千禧年到来之后仍然安定且平和地永存着，即使题材中关于不消匿的痛苦与遗憾是真实的，但在永生与短生之间，丽莎选择希望，这对当下的我来说是一个不同的视角。这很了不得，是的。感谢游戏制作者们的付出，这真是一件非常有魅力的艺术品。

Es ist ein wirklich sehr süßes Story Game mit einer spannenden Geschichte. Man hat sehr viele Handlungsoptionen wodurch die Story beeinflusst werden kann. Es gefällt mir sehr, das es kein klassisches Story Game ist. Man führt hier aktiv Handlungen durch. Die Stimmen der Synchronsprecher sind zudem sehr angenehm und der Untertitel ist auch auf deutsch verfügbar. Der Stil des Games ist wirklich süß und verleiht dem Ganzen einen gewissen Charme. Zudem kann man mit unterschiedlichen Charakteren "Romanzen" führen. Obwohl ich eigentlich keine Story Games spiele kann ich das Game nur wärmstens empfehlen. Es hat wirklich Spaß gemacht und war spannend :)
An zwei Stellen sind mir jedoch kleine Bugs aufgefallen, was zum Glück nicht so schlimm war, da das Game automatisch speichert und ich es so einfach weiterspielen konnte.

a short and well written narrative RPG, I enjoyed it a lot. This is a game that moves at a brisk pace through the story it's trying to tell. Each of the major characters has a short narrative arch that ties into the overall narrative and once you've finished it, you move quickly on to the next character and story arch. This enables a compelling story that isn't overly long and stays focused. It is also kind of a con compared to longer narrative driven games as a lot of the character's arcs end abruptly. ultimately though, I appreciated the brevity.

This is the best vampire game I have ever played, simply put. A game where every choice has a consequence, where every act and word matters.

All characters have depth, Liza (the protagonist) is very likable and we as the player can easily connect with her. The ambiance, folklore and lore from Eastern Europe is well-depicted. The story may be rather simple but very effective at what it does thanks to its moral dilemmas that will test our new self as a vampire.

This game made me feel emotion. And that is precisely what I wanted besides also finally having a great vampire experience that doesn't suffer from poor writing.

Please make more narrative-driven RPGs like these! Especially vampire-themed ones as I can't think of any vampire-game that depicted as well as Cabernet does it how it feels to be freshly turned and how the secretive vampiric society operates in the shadow.

I am really enjoying this game, but it comes with a few caveats. First, the QOL features need improvement. It is difficult to use the menus, even after you get used to them. Moving around the world is slow and you can easily click the wrong thing because moving a millimeter to the right or left can highlight the wrong thing to interact with. It's also very difficult to understand what you should be doing as the quest trackers are annoyingly complicated. All of these things put a bit of a barrier to entry on this game, and really the game isn't terribly difficult so these challenges almost feel like an artificial difficulty gauge.

All that said, I still really like the game as it is a very unique narrative game even if the story itself isn't super new. I like that the humanity/nihilism meter is not on a scale between the two but each meter can be filled separately. I like flying as a bat since it's fast and fairly easy. I like that you can eventually drink from anyone but they have to trust you first and then you have to enchant them. I like all the vampire tropes are here: no reflection in a mirror, only awaken at night, sleep in a coffin (which is on a bedframe for some reason!) and you can go invisible. You can befriend or make enemies with almost anyone in the town, and you can even romance them. I like that there are heavy topics discussed, specifically alcohol abuse. I like Petya as a person [spoiler] and as a doll, [/spoiler].

It's a bit rough around the edges but its fairly long, pretty engaging, intriguing and fun.

An absolutely beautifully made game. Every quest and every character feels like a labor of love. The story is very well paced, and the voice acting is amazing. Though you will encounter some bugs throughout the game, restarting usually fixes them. Sometimes you just have to load a previous save file, so it is essential to manually save every single day.

[spoiler] Also, I feel that the full potential of the Countess or Dragomir was not fully explored. You build up a grand narrative around them only for the protagonist to interact with them like twice throughout the game, and even then, fairly inconsequentially. [/spoiler] Still, it has been a while since I played such a well made vampire story. Worth every single penny!

Cabernet is a beautifully crafted game. The storytelling is superb, the art style is lovely, and all in all it is well worth the asking price. Yes, some of the puzzles are a tad challenging, there are to this day some audio bugs, but I wouldn't say they detract from the experience. I you'd enjoy a macabre vampire slice-of-life game where you get to determine the fates of around two dozen characters, then Cabernet will make a wonderful choice.

Well-written, empathetic game with plenty to say about being human, from relationships to addiction to history & politics. I ended up caring a great deal about most of the characters. (There is a dearth of characters that AREN'T likeable, to be honest, but the vitality of the characters that are there makes up for how overwhelmingly lovely they all are.)

Are there a few bugs? Yes. Do I wish that an evil playthrough could be more valid and possible? Yes. Would I take a sincere, intelligent game like this over something more polished. slick, and meaningless? Every time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (8/10)

Ah, close enough, [i]Vampire The Masquerade[/i], welcome back. I joke, but seriously, where the hell are all the good vampire games? I know there's the Visual Novels/Interactive Fiction, which has a niche audience. [i]Vampyr[/i] was pretty good, yet had a frustrating amount of jank. I'm sure we all know about [i]Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2[/i]. I heard [i]V Rising[/i] is good, but I've been craving a solid vampire game with atmosphere and choices that matter. I would love an ambitious RPG, but that seems to be asking too much in today's economy. But [i]Cabernet[/i] has come along, and I'm pleasantly surprised by it! You play as Liza, a young female doctor who has died and risen again. Thankfully, the narrative moves quickly. Liza is confused, of course, but she is no simpering maiden. She is introduced to the vampiric world quickly, with all its rules and powers and all. And what a world it is! The vampires in [i]Cabernet[/i] are not unlike those in popular culture: they're not sparkly in the sunlight, but stepping into the daylight will kill them. They do have powers, like invisibility or turning into a bat. And, of course, you are required to drink human blood—ethically, or not, up to you. The theme of choices that matter is something that is woven into the narrative quite well, especially for an indie RPG-lite. The narrative circles around the meaning of goodness and hope in an unjust world, and it's usually written beautifully. However, if you're going in expecting a sprawling RPG, this is not it. You can do bad and [i]be[/i] bad, but I would argue the "good" or "canon" ending depends on you agreeing with the writers' ideas. You might wish for a more nuanced opinion, whereas you are given Nihilistic or Humane options. There's also some jank with the save system: you must save at the end of the night in one location only. No free saving. Still, Party for Introverts has built a touching VN with heart. We need more of those, now more than ever.

[b][h2]Pros:[/h2][/b]
✅[b] Aesthetic.[/b] Party for Introverts has nailed the Eastern European vampire look. The atmosphere leans into crumbling estates, candlelit corridors, velvet darkness, and cold stone rather than glitter or modern gothic glam. The horror feels rooted in old money and older secrets: faded aristocracy, ancestral sins, portraits watching from the walls. It evokes the classic lineage of vampire fiction without feeling derivative. I also adored the haunting piano music and how it changed depending on the scene. Liza's dresses look great, as well.

✅[b] Mechanics.[/b] First, you can raise both your Humanity and Nihilism in one playthrough, because you can choose one option without lowering the other. Each attitude will unlock dialogue and action choices. Second, there's also a timer. Certain actions use an action point or two out of three. I was worried about time management, but I completed every side quest with time to spare! This gave the game some urgeny, as well. Third, you'll have to manage your blood meter to use your four powers. You can feed on animals, on people (which will lower your relationship with them), or drink ethically-sourced blood. Lastly, about Liza's powers. There's (1) bat-shifting, (2) invisibility, (3) Liza's fangs, and (4) enchantment. All are AWESOME and can be used in different situations.

✅[b] Choices matter.[/b] I loved how choices were implemented. If your relationship with one of the numerous cast members is high enough, you can enchant them and guide their subconscious. So, for example, with one woman, I could persuade her to continue her music passion or convince her to break up with her husband. Hilarious stuff. These choices have ripple effects, as well. You also get choices in dialogue and actions: drink someone dry? Steal someone's money? Or be kind and pursue your medical career? My only complaint is that the stat requirements for each quest or choice seem to be very arbitrary, with no forewarning.

✅[b] Epilogue.[/b] Finally, a game that has a thorough, satisfying epilogue 🙏 I totally get why endings are the hardest part to land: each playthrough has a couple of dozen variables, and you have to account for each character. However, I found that my epilogue responded well to my choices. One thing I loved was that the game prepared an ending for each of the cast, taking into consideration who I saved, romanced, or betrayed. Liza got to reminisce about all her old friends, especially the ones who remained human while she was a vampire. My good ending was surprisingly hopeful. She observes politicians grow more corrupt, institutions stagnate, and the broader world remains morally compromised. And yet, she is not naïve. She has survived. She has adapted. She carries experience and hard-earned wisdom. The world may continue to disappoint, but she is no longer fragile within it.

[b][h2]Cons:[/h2][/b]
🟥[b] Clear writer bias.[/b] First, the game is pretty strongly progressive with regards to gender, sexuality, and immigration. Nothing wrong with that—I'm of the same mind—but I didn't realize 19th-century Eastern Europe was so progressive? I also felt that the narrative subtly steers the player toward altruism as the “correct” path. For example, telling [spoiler]Liza's brother the truth—even at personal cost—led to a more hopeful outcome where he survived with integrity intact. Instead, I chose to hide the truth from him, resulting in his death. Well, what if you wanted to protect him, like I did? [/spoiler]The side characters are also friendly, good characters at their core basis. You can cause their deaths, but Liza is grieved by it. The default is helping them become better people—which I was 100% on board with—but it's not an Evil Simulator™️.

🟥[b] Some QoL issues.[/b] The biggest con is the save system. The game gives you one autosave and five manual save slots. However, to save, you must go to your room at the end of the day. I understand the design choice, but I'm never a fan of having to play a certain amount of time to save. Additionally, I encountered a softlock, which made me replay the day. On launch, there were plenty of bugs, but I only encountered the one. I also found the one autosave limiting. I wish there was another slot at the midway point.

➡️ [b]I also don't see an option to fast-forward through text or a text log.[/b] My final quibble is with Marusia's storyline. I wanted to gift her the violin or book, so I followed her location in the journal. However, these scripted encounters only continued her storyline. After finishing the scene, she ran away twice, leaving me with the gifts still. I only figured out that you have to give the gifts in the bookstore after her side quest ended!

In dieses Spiel habe ich mich sehr verliebt.
Es hat einen so schönen grafischen Stil und ich liebe das generelle Design.
Es wurde in keiner Sekunde langweilig oder eintönig.
Man hat so oft überlegt wie man etwas hätte anders machen können oder wie wohl ein anderer Verlauf realisierbar wäre,

Ich kann nur empfehlen das Spiel selbst auszuprobieren.
Es macht so viel Lust mehrere Durchgänge zu machen und die Dinge nochmal anders anzugehen.

Die Geschichte ist so schön und emotional.
Ich habe nur Liebe für dieses Game übrig.

I ADORE this game. It's the perfect mix of creepy, with an addition of having a really strong story that you can explore in the clear way (not confusing, even for a beginner gamer) and clear goals. The graphics and art style is amazing. I also adored all the characters. However, one small issue I have is the blood-drinking. When not directly involved in the story, you cannot go up to other characters - even ones you know - and drink their blood. This means you are practically forced to buy Cabernet or drink the rabbits - and this feels like a huge missing area of the game! Other than that, I adore everything and would really recommend!

A nice little story about turning into a vampire, coming to terms with your new existence, and meeting people living in the village. Plenty of background stories to find, and a few interesting choices to be made.

The game promotes a sense of hurry, and that you have to prioritize certain tasks, but with the exception of a few timed events, there is plenty of time to see all parts of the game. The main story itself is not exceptional, but it is not bad either, so it is worth experiencing.

Que a nadie le asuste el 2D, el juego está muy bien logrado y lleno de referencias históricas, literarias, artísticas y hasta políticas. La ambientación oscura es súper envolvente y se puede sentir durante todo el juego. Constantemente nos enfrentamos a decisiones complejas que marcan puntos de inflexión en el juego, algunas bruscas y otras aparentemente sutiles pero que terminan ocasionando un efecto dominó. Resalto que el juego aborda temas profundos que nos hacen pensar. Muy buenos diálogos, muy buenas misiones secundarias, lleno de personajes carismáticos que serán difíciles de olvidar. Sencillamente muy sorprendido. Llegué al juego por casualidad, venía con un pequeño descuento en un pack junto con The Dark Queen of Mortholme y agradezco al universo haberme animado a sumar este juego que no conocía al carrito.

Failed one of the quests multiple times because I couldn’t place Liza where I wanted her. And also the save system sucks a little: I don’t understand this trend of making players' lives insufferable by saving only at a particular place. It is a waste of my time, truly.

Will definitely replay it as ‘evil’ Elisabeth, and definitely will try to get the most dark ending possible)
I need those 20+ achievements as a completionist)

In Cabernet, you play as Liza as you guide her as a newly turned vampire. You do make choices throughout the game that affect her humanity or nihilism, along with her relationships with other characters. You also learn various vampire abilities and gain skills in different topics. I am enjoying the story, completing the quests, and exploring the world as Liza, and Cabernet is one of my favorite games I have played.

My review of the Cabernet game.

It mirrors real-life choices and communication with uncanny precision. Some things cannot be replayed or undone. How easy it is to be misled by what feels like the “right” decision—only to discover it leads to irreversible consequences. That is the nature of choice: some decisions are already made, and some actions cannot be taken back.

The authors have masterfully fused the graphic novel and RPG genres into something truly cohesive and rare. The language is rich, elegant, and alive.
This is not merely a game; it is a book. A book in which you can discover who you are in this world. A book that reveals far more about your personality than you might expect—or be ready to face.

The ending is a work of art. Subtle references, layered metaphors, and irony in perfect balance. Together, these elements leave a singular aftertaste—deeper, more complex, and longer-lasting than that of any well-aged wine.
