Из плюсов - красивая рисовка и волшебная музыка, на этом всё
Из минусов - отвратительный геймплей (Лана ОЧЕНЬ медленно ходит, всё зависает, кнопки то прожимаются, то нет, монстры застревают в текстурах), душные головоломки (особенно глава с переключением между временами и вся QTE-история с танцами). Самый большой минус - сюжет с "повесточкой". Изначально история подаётся, как сказка, где Лана (ГГ) ищет свою исчезнувшую подругу и перемещается между настоящим миром и волшебным миром "Корола". По итогу оказывается, что у главной героини ПТСР и поехала кукуха, а все мужики козлы и уроды.

В общем, плюсы не оправдали очевидных недостатков.

The themes of feminism, sapphic love, loss, grief and ultimately acceptance, accompanied by fun puzzles and a beautiful, hand-drawn classic Disneyesque style animation. This game delivers a meaningful, emotional story that had me in tears. 10/10

PS no issues on deck, played beautifully, but sometimes some smaller texts were hard to read.

Игра была мне подарена на какой-то из прошедших праздников. Добавил ее в вишлист из-за диснеевской рисовки.

В плане рисовки игра не разочаровала. И правда очень красиво — художники молодцы. Но игра в итоге была дропнута по двум причинам:

1. Такой игре не позволительно быть плохо оптимизированной. Почему-то через пару часов после начала игры у нее начинаются дикие просадки FPS. При этом я ни в одном отзыве такой жалобы не встречал, что странно. Особенно при моём то ПК.
2. Повестка. Я не поверил отзыву, который прочитал после первого захода в игру, но он оказался правдивым. Проявляется это во второй половине игры. После этого я нажал Alt+F4 и удалил игру.

Очень жаль — могла получиться классная страшная сказка в духе Алисы в стране чудес.

No me dió problemas de carga en ningún momento, parece bien optimizado, pero es posible que cambiando entre ciertos escenarios en ciertas mecánicas a computadoras patatas lleguen a darle cargas un poco más largas.

Данную игру я ждала, купила сразу на релизе и побежала с горящими глазами играть.
Чем обернулись мои сказочные ожидания:
Визуализация — ОГРОМНЫЙ ПЛЮС.
Музыка — ПОТРЯСАЮЩАЯ.
И
всё.
Они закончились...

Управление неудобное.
Геймплей поломанный, я находила баги и сломанные скрипты, постоянно перезаходила в игру, чтобы их починить.
Хоррора здесь нет.
Сюжет — повесточная срань. Я старалась его понять, оправдать, но НЕТ, в концовке полное разочарование.

Кому стоит покупать игру: тем, кому не важен геймплей, смысловая нагрузка и сюжет.
Если вам хватает визуала и звукового сопровождения в игре, берите, вам понравится.

Мне, к сожалению, этого было мало.

The game is good looking, but that’s pretty much it. You can’t get immersed in the plot enough, because of a huge list of things that don’t work and are wrong. Frankly speaking, having played through it, I expected to see a couple of people in the credits which could’ve explained the problems, but… Around 10 minutes of credits from developers? A team so big couldn’t manage to polish what a team of 4 students on game development could master in a month? That’s disappointing. And the price tag is a rip off. The game is not only about animation, it is about gameplay, which the developers did not finish properly.

Detailed:

The game looks stunning and interesting, cute and mysterious at the same time, based on the trailer, screenshots, etc. These impressions disappear as soon as the game is started. Frankly, if not for my girlfriend who asked me to buy this game and was watching me play all the time, I would’ve dropped it on numerous occasions.
To get things clear, this game sits on 3 main pillars: visuals, plot and puzzles. Unfortunately, none of them work. Sprites look inconsistent.
The fact that characters do not dynamically respond to the light in a scene, that is clear, but different characters use colour palettes suitable mostly for the scenes in which they spend most time. For instance, the player observes the main character, Lana, throughout the game, and most of it is dark, ominous, with creepy vibes. And what happens in the rest, where we have a happy environment in a forest during the middle of the day? She has the same dark colours, which disrupts the consistency of the scene too much. And this is not the only example. Secondly, although the level of detail of all the sprites seem consistent enough, sometimes the camera tends to close up on different parts of the scene, where the assets become blurry. And last, but not least, the animations tend to get cropped or jump between frames.
The second pillar I want to focus on is ‘puzzles’. The character navigates the scenes only to perform one action and then go back to the other end of it, to do something else and this repeats again and again, but that is not the most important point. Sometimes it is difficult to make the character do what you want: go up the stairs, hide in the closet, etc. Especially in dynamic scenes where it is crucial, the unresponsiveness really stands out. I can’t physically count how many times I missed the stairs when I needed to get on them quickly. In addition, UI elements that are needed in order to interact with the objects appear far too late, which makes the player miss them completely if they ran away from the monster, for example. An obvious question arises: why couldn’t I just slow down in front of the closet for the symbol to appear and then hide? Apart from the monster being far too close (stealth is not always a solution, as sometimes the plot forces you to flee) and waiting would make it impossible to hide, there is no way to differentiate between interactive and background elements of the scene. They all blend together in the same colours. This brings the next point during dynamic scenes, where you get through for the first time in a scene without previously exploring it and have a chance to at least memorise the layout of objects. You have to do things quickly, like hide underneath or behind the table, wait for the monster to turn around and then go on. But, it may appear that the previous table was suitable to hide behind, when the next one, looking exactly the same, requires you to jump on it. Furthermore, you may notice that having an interaction symbol visible (without being crossed out, meaning that you cannot do anything now) does not mean the possibility of it, because the character is looking not left, but right. And when you are being chased, especially running left, turning around is not the most obvious action that comes to mind. Unfortunately, the list can go on and on, breaking the satisfaction.
The last point is a plot. It is completely normal not to understand everything at the very beginning, and that it becomes clear closer to the end, but not exactly knowing what are you supposed to do in a scene or a chapter? Sometimes you just have to come up with your own goals to go further, trying to figure out explanations that would make sense, but the thing that follows does not contribute to your understanding: characters do something completely random, talk about something even more different and you are left in the next scene, without a clue why are you doing it in the first place, again. On a larger scale, the main plot (mostly ending) seems to combine everything, from unexpected twists that seem to have no logical explanation, to miscommunications, misunderstandings and other points from a collection of mistakes for writers to avoid. Additionally, at some point what is left of a consistency of the plot gets put on the second plan, when other views and ideas of authors get so much attention, abruptly transitioning from narrative to an essay. One of such things is feminism. Notice, that I am not telling that what is being shown is not true, it is rather that it gets so much attention and dedication to it, that everything else is left underdeveloped. Political and ideological views could’ve been a nice addition to the general idea of the plot, but not something that could replace parts of it completely, leaving everything else raw.

Bye Sweer Carole doesn't look consisntent, plays like SH1T, has AWFUL camera and you have only few very weak game mechanics to justify this project as a game.

I don't even surprised that all promo that I've seen was just a few scenes - that's because this game just fell apart in any other moments.

If your goal was to make "poorly playable cheap-noname cartoon direct-to-VHS with very on your nose story and themes" so... congratulations! But I think that your goal was to create something interesting to play and to watch instead of this mess.

Tengo sentimientos encontrados con este juego. Lo quise jugar nada más ver su arte disney y trama de terror, lo compré de salida pero al poco de jugar me comenzó a aburrir. Se repite en exceso la misma mecánica de acoso y persecución, y si a eso le sumas que su jugabilidad es muy aparatosa, (casi siempre iba en forma de liebre porque caminar era tedioso) hizo que lo dejase por un tiempo hasta animarme de nuevo a tocarlo. Y aquí estoy de nuevo y no lo he terminado por lo mismo. Me encontré algunos bugs que lastimosamente se unieron a mi hastío.
En mi primer acercamiento al juego escribí una reseña donde le doy un pulgar arriba por el arte y mi interés en la historia, pero tras retomarlo no puedo ir en contra de mi experiencia. No lo recomendaría.

RIP por las historias de época de mujeres que se tratan desde una perspectiva actual.

я ее очень хотела и ждала как только увидела визуал, так как я обожаю винтажную анимацию диснея и являюсь ее большой поклонницей. еще и игра заявлена как хоррор и такое комбо - это вообще восторг, но что оказалось на деле:
- отвратительное управление для пк
- манипулятивный сюжет пропагандирующий ненависть к мужчинам, это отвратительно
- ужасная повестка. бо там и феминизм и расизм и нетрадиционная ориентация, и насилие над женщинами и все прямо тебе в лоб вот это грузилово душное нафиг не нужное, потому что ты просто хотела поиграть в игру, а не вот эту всю хрень
- ♥♥♥♥♥♥ душный стелс. игра нарисована потрясающе это действительно произведение искусства и вместо того чтоб разглядывать каждую детальку на локации и разгадывать загадки, ты вечно бегаешь в панике от какой-то хрени, с которой когда понимаешь как совладать - оно просто бесит и мешает

- от концовки у меня сгорела жопа окончательно, получается ее подруга погибла по вине ГГ, но в конце жертва все равно ГГ и ЕЕ все жалеют, включая даже кавалершу покойной... это такая рыготня сцаная и манипулятивная, я думала меня стошнит. вот этот весь бал с мужиками-нелюдями показанными какими-то монстрами просто потому что они мужики. это на кого ♥♥♥♥♥ расчитано? типа играй в игру - ненавидь мужиков, бо они спермобака-раписты-узурпаторы? ну это ж шиза уже какая-то. а вот эта фраза, када она финального босса добивает со словами "ты всего-лишь мужчина!" ну это пиздос.
мне очень жалко что художники и композиторы столько труда вбухали в эту игру, потому что.. ну это и правда потрясающе, но сюжет и кривое управление полностью нивелировали весь этот труд

This was a beautiful game from top to bottom. I stopped several times throughout it just to admire the backgrounds and animations. The music reminded me of old disney and the characters were between intriguing and adorable! By the end I was thrown for a bit of a loop, but the experience of playing through was magical. <3

Bye Sweet Carole is a wonderful title. Standouts are the art, music and story. Art and music are beautiful and deserve all the attention given to them and show such a majestic craftsmanship. The story is lovely dealing with things many people growing up I believe have dealt with and shown this way is wonderful and should be experienced. The only downsides I would point to are the weird "combat" sections which thematic and I understand their inclusion should have been a little more fleshed out in my opinion. I feel the puzzles were appropriate because they get you thinking just enough but do not bog the flow down to a crawl ruining pacing. If you enjoy chill story games give this a shot you wont be disappointed. If you want a game that is eye candy to play you can not go wrong here.

I thought Bye Sweet Carole was brilliant! Like most players I was drawn to the art style which was brilliant. I liked the story but I was a bit confused at times. Lots of people called it "cluncky" in the reviews. I didn't find that at all and aside from some minors bugs (the game is still quite new) I thought it played very well. I liked the characters and the puzzles were great. There are a lot of jump scares. I liked that but if thats not your thing, this might not be for you and there some light combat, but nothing frustrating. I loved it!

I had high expectations for this game, from the moment they revealed it. Then I played it .... The music and graphics are the highlights here. Everything else is meh ... voice acting is good. The puzzles can be a bit of a drag, because you do one, then to the next - then to the next till the end of the game, nothing else to do. The story is ok, when is trying to be a disney princess movie - but most of it, it tries to preach to you and it gets me out of the mood to enjoy it. Was it not for the music/graphics I would drop it in the 2nd hour or so.

Meio difícil recomendar pra todo mundo. É um jogo no mesmo estilo Disney. É fácil de zerar, fácil de acompanhar a história também e os visuais foram todos desenhados a mão.

Se você for por isso acima (e comprar numa promoção BOA) posso recomendar. De outra forma, capaz de ficar um pouco entediado, já que penso que o jogo é muito fácil às vezes e enigmas/point in the click podem ser meio entediantes dependendo da pessoa.

Одна из самых унылых игр, что я видел. Единственное её достоинство — интересная рисовка. Однако после первой же заставки начинается до абсурда неверная интерпретация жанра сурвайвал-хоррор: надо носиться туда-сюда от бессмертного монстра, переключать переключатели в разных комбинациях и иногда выполнять две этих задачи сразу. Головоломки либо совсем простые, либо случайно усложнённые путаными подсказками.

Ну и не забыли сильных цветных женщин (точнее, девочек) добавить, которые на фоне сказочного сюжета борются за социальную справедливость, причём ещё и в викторианской Англии. Настолько не в тему повестку впендюрить — это надо постараться.

За 8 часов я осилил, может, половину глав, дальше не собираюсь.

Je l'attendais depuis tellement longtemps et je suis tellement heureuse d'avoir pu y jouer. La DA est INCROYABLE, l'histoire est bien écrite, les personnages sont attachant, j'ai eu quelques bon sursauts...

I don't usually leave reviews on games but this had to be one of the best games I've been able to play lately. The narrative and characters are so unique and loveable.

The hand drawn art and the music got me in a death grip along with the writing. Though, one thing I did struggle with was some scenes where you had to transform mid running or jumping onto platforms or figuring out what to do next with minimal context clues. The mechanics can be jank as some points but overall I really did have fun, and pleasant experience and I'm gonna gladly play it again.

From the second I first saw the trailer for this game, I knew I had to play it! The quirky and soft art-style and the charming music really caught my attention. For me, this ended up being one of my favourite gaming experiences of 2025, so 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 to the dev team!

The gameplay kept me engaged and introduced fun, sometimes challenging segments/puzzles to get through. At times I felt a bit stuck, but it felt rewarding to work things out and progress. Sure there may be a few rough edges, but what game doesn't? I feel some of these reviews are harsh and might not have resonated with what Bye Sweet Carole set out to convey.

The story and characters were absolute magic. Definitely in my library of "please wipe my memory so I can replay this for the first time" games. I had a feeling about how things would progress / what happens to certain characters, but I could have never prepared myself for how much the story impacted me emotionally. Every character felt distinct and memorable, and each reflected so much meaning.

However, the BEST things about this game is the PERFECT soundtrack and the gorgeous animation (at times as if I was flipping a storybook - other times unbelievably cinematic)! The visuals and music I will NEVER forget, and I predict I will be searching for a long time for something that would come even close.

A 10/10 experience for me, and all I have left to say is:

Would i recommend this game? Yes. Beautiful art design and good story, but there are downsides. Kinda clunky on the game play. Some puzzles are also not very intuitive. The game also crashes alot especially in chapters 4 and 10. If you have the patience to stick trough id say its worth it.

What a beautifully crafted gem.
I loved every second of this, gameplay is so fun (frustrating at times yep) but what matters the most for me is the love that is shown here in every single aspect: Story, art, music, characters..

Had me way too emotional and cried a lot with the ending... it's just one of my favourite games now.
A beautiful story about what it means to grow up, accept changes & people moving on from your life. Just...accepting the clock & reality as harsh as it may be.

Очень красивая графика, приятный главный персонах.
Но не понятно ее цепляние за прошлое и боязнь взросления.

По сути недоработанная сырая игра с кучей лагов и механикой в пиксель на последних уровнях так точно, завернутая в красивую обертку из рисовки под Дисней.
На инди игре слишком сложное управление на прыжках. Так же если прячешься, то монстры тебя все равно могут найти, даже если ты задержал дыхание.

El juego es una verdadera belleza, es ver una peli disney. Detrás de esta obra se encuentra una historia bastante profunda.
Ahora... el juego está mal optimizado, tiene bugs y eso resta en la jugabilidad la verdad.
Recomiendo jugar al juego en 1080.. ya que en 2k me crasheaba siempre.
Pero quitando esto el arte y la historia ganan una barbaridad.

Imaginaos ir a portaventura y encontrarte personajes de pokemon, pues tu dices coño... que mal hecho pero ta way, merece la pena. O comerte una tableta de chocolate con kepchu pero sabe a bolsillo del chavo. Osea Siempre si y no pero si... no se si me explico.

Pour vous faire un avis sans aucun spoil: je ne m'attendais pas à ça. Je m'attendais à une aventure fantastique et jolie, et j'ai eu tellement plus. Le jeu à su personnellement toucher mes cordes sensibles, et bien au delà d'incroyables graphismes rappelant de vieux Disney, de puzzles qui demandent juste assez de réflexion et de recherche, c'est aussi une histoire bien plus profonde qu'il n'y paraît qui vous attend ici.

I had maybe 2 instances where a certain event didn't trigger as it should, both were easily fixed with a reload. Sure, not optimal, but far from gamebreaking.
Now gameplay wise, did the game anger me? Infuriate me? Yes, on occasion. But those were occasions where, due to the presentation and being engrossed in the story, I had forgotten that this, in its core, is a horror game, and does want to be played as such.
All in all, Bye Sweet Carole is exactly as gorgeous as you think it is, but probably plays in parts rather differently from what you expect. Think Clock Tower with more - and more complex - puzzles.

Un gran bel gioco, un gioiello videoludico italiano con una grafica davvero accattivante in stile Disney e il tutto disegnato a mano.

Sendo assim, pelo estado que o jogo se encontra é bastante divertido para quem gosta do gênero. Acho que eu esperava um pouco mais da história, porém, é ok com tudo o que foi demonstrado. The positives end with the aesthetics. The gameplay is just barely engaging enough to keep you going for the story, and unfortunately the story falls flat. The overall theme of the game is to let go of the past and move forward, this is told, not shown. About halfway through the game a time travel mechanic is introduced that could've been integrated into the narrative but it's gone as quickly as it arrived and has no bearing on the story. Overall the game is just mediocre, unfortunately not worth it in the end.

Sometimes I experience a piece of art, whether it be a song, a movie, a TV show, or a game, that impacts me so much and invites me to live in it's world to such a degree that when it's over, I feel a deep void in the pit of my stomach. It's as if someone in my life has departed for one reason or another, or some major life event has concluded and all I have left is the memory of everything I felt while it happened.

This is one of those experiences.

Bye Sweet Carole, for being a game that has a myriad of technical issues and essentially zero replayability, had the magical effect of making me feel something. It's really hard for me to cry these days due to my antidepressants, so for me to cry I had to really go through some ♥♥♥♥. This game made me cry.

I enjoyed the games illustrations, and stories. I second the feel of Disney type illustration and a sort of coming of age storyline. I did not find the puzzles challenging, once you understand the logic, but some are a one time kind of solution. I did get two bugs that forced the game to restart and some of the commands to be a little stiff and made some areas harder to go through than was necessary. E.g the hiding from Frank and the tailoring spider.
All in all still enjoyed the game and would have definitely played longer with less jump scares and being chased aroung.

If you like gothic themes and hand drawn art/animations, this game is for you. The game feels like a dark, gothic twist on the old school Disney movies I grew up on; safe to say absolute love the mix. I would absolutely reccommend this game!

I will say Im an absolute wimp, this was my first horror game I've played. There's a few jumpscares and tense moments but it never deterred me. If you're worried about the horror aspect being too much, don't let it deter you! The puzzles can be confusing, you definitely have to stop and thinking. I got caught a few times, but that just made it more fun. While definitely a challenge that made it much more enjoyable as I hate when games make puzzles too easy.

The story was interesting and I really enjoyed how it came together at the end, as a woman the story hit a string in my heart that a lot of women will relate to and rally with. The game was longer than I expected, but that's definitely not a bad thing!! The story elements, especially towards the end are very relatable and personal, expierences that women across the board can understand. The overall message was endearing and heartwarming so [b]if youre looking for a sign to play this game.. THIS IS THAT SIGN![/b]

I am not Impressed. I was going to write a long Review but honestly i am not motivated enough to explain all the details. Just check other negative reviews thy sum it up relatively quickly.

It is not all negative some things especially the music where good but overall not impressive. and if you have high standards (which you should), i cannot reccomend the game to be honest. I was expecting something completely different than what I got and while that can be ok it just was not impressive.

And one thing that annoyed me.... it was yet another feminist Story. I am male and I enjoy fmC but this story left me feel annoyed and bored more than anything. I mean com one. At least say it is such a Story openly and proudly instead of hiding it in Horror and old Disney nostalgia....

Le jeu avait vraiment du potentiel mais malheureusement je me dois de mettre une note négative.
Voilà pourquoi et je tiens a nuancer mes propos :

En dehors des graphismes qui sont vraiment jolis et qui portent le jeu, l'IU (interface) est embetante, dans le sens que les icones sont immense, et TOUJOURS présents. Je comprends au début qu'on nous dise que c'est possible de grimper a un endroit, etc. , mais au bout d'un moment ça gâche l'immersion.
La bande son est sympa sans plus, aucun son ou musique était vraiment marquante donc c'est ok tier en vrai, osef un peu.
Niveau gameplay le jeu parait lourd, voir lent, le lien animation des sprite et mouvements réel est parfois imprécis. Mais en soit c'est jouable quand on prend l'habitude.

Le gros point noir pour moi, c'est la différence entre ce qui a l'air d'être promis dans le trailer, la communicaation autour du jeu et le jeu en lui même. On passe notre temps a courir après du papier dans un internat. Je m'attendais a un conte style disney avec une tournure glauque, malheureusement j'ai été décu. La surprise est quazi inexistante vu que tout est montré dans les trailers.
Enfait je pense que soit le jeu n'a pas assez d'aventure, découverte, ou alors pas assez d'histoire. Si on part du principe que ce décor actuel du jeu est ce que les dev voulaient, il aurait fallu approfondir l'écriture de l'histoire. Une autre solution aurait été de planter un décor vivant avec de la découverte, et de l'exploration et là on peut faire une histoire simple.

Encore une fois, le travail est là a n'en pas douter, mais je conseillerais pas ce jeu pour ces raisons.

Подача настолько грубая и «жирная», что это режет глаз. Со второго уровня идёт откровенная гендерная повестка: женщинам нужно смотреть на мужские достижения, несогласным - клеймо. А попутно, будто мимоходом, вбрасывается, что убивать животных газом - это в порядке вещей (да это патриархат).
Уровень манипуляции зашкаливает.

В целом картинка та, что я и ждал, да и релиза игры я ждал.
В итоге: момент с повесткой режет глаз = разочарование.
К сожалению купил при выходе, играть сел только сейчас, поэтому вернуть деньги нельзя.
Может, когда-нибудь и доиграю, вроде игра не плохая, но сейчас желание отбито полностью

Que experiencia incrível, eu sinceramente me interessei no jogo pelo estilo de arte e achei que ele se apoiaria apenas na sua beleza, mas pqp, ele consegue acertar em tudo tanto na historia, musicas, desenvolvimento de personagens e ate na lição de moral.

Bye Sweet Carole is one of those games that I struggle to understand how I felt about it. Not helping this is the fact that Steam forces a binary choice on recommending or not recommending. The game is one of extremes, either something is brilliant or terrible.

Bye Sweet Carole's brilliance is in it's unique aesthetic which I find to be of a singular achievement in videogames. The fact that the game is animated like a don bluth/disney film is incredibly impressive and should be celebrated. The games atmosphere is also pitch perfect dripping with dark fantasy.

The gameplay is fairly mediocre with some of the later stages of the game not able to handle it's own mechanics with finesse. The stealth is tedious. Additionally, while the voice acting is suitable, the lip syncing is horrible and distracting. It is so atrocious that it would be better if it wasn't there.

However, what I believe really undercuts the game is it's story. While it may be personal to me, I absolutely hate when a story sets up a fantasy but later reveals that it is fake. Additionally, the game devolves into a tedious feminist narrative. Men are routinely depicted extremely negatively, achievement is only measure in work or in knowledge, and in the end the game "breaks" one narrative for women by placing them into another equally constraining narrative.

Очень красивая и очень грустная история, которая стала для меня одной из лучших и любимых игр. Я обычно панически боюсь скримеров, но здесь даже мне было играть комфортно. Поэтому, неженки, не пугаемся.
Конечно, только ленивый не похвалил рисовку, и это справедливо. Вся эта немного наивная внешняя атмосфера и визуальные образы отлично работают на контрасте с глубокими смыслами, которые игра в себе несёт. За казалось бы простой историей скрываются очень взрослые и пронзительные темы одиночества, памяти и смирения. Это та игра, после которой не хочется сразу переключаться, а хочется немного посидеть в тишине.

Да, игра неидеальна. Я проходила её ещё до возможности перепройти главу и очень психовала из-за бага, который чуть не сломал всё прохождение (тот самый, где ты не можешь выйти из комнаты). Мне пришлось заново проходить 4 и 5 главы, но спасибо, что не всю игру. Тем не менее, это не испортило мой игровой опыт, и спустя несколько месяцев я с теплотой вспоминаю эту игру и обязательно перепройду её ещё не раз

Todo un descubrimiento este juego. Un lujazo artísticamente hablando, parece que estas viendo una película de Disney. La banda sonora o los diálogos tampoco se queda atrás, con temas muy buenos y acordes que acompañan la aventura en todo momento.
El juego es una mezcla entre Clock Tower y Alicia en el país de las maravillas, con momentos donde el antagonista hace acto de presencia, dándote esa sensación de tensión de los Clock Tower. La historia es muy hermosa, según te vas acercando al final vas entendiendo el contexto de la aventura. En cuanto al rendimiento nada que objetar, bastante bien optimizado incluso en la STEAMDECK, pese a no tener la total compatibilidad. En cuanto al control que tanto se critica pienso que es un tanto subjetivo. Es cierto que en algunos momentos es confuso el controlar al personaje en algunas situaciones, pero no llega tampoco a la frustración. Es una bellísima historia muy disfrutáble, con un apartado visual y artístico de lujo, con una duración y un precio acorde que hará las delicias de los amantes de las películas de animación.

I was really looking forward to this game coming out and bought it for myself as a birthday gift, but was quite dissapointed to see how poor this game fuctions. the controls are very janky, also things keep happening for no reason such as getting hit by an enemy but im half way across the screen from them, and other times im right infront of them and dont get hit at all, also the enemy constantly keeps camping out wherever i go making things difficult. I find things are also not intuitive enough to figure out such as the umbrellas mans head needing to be crushed to get through a space, or only her other form can jump across spaces but her human form can't, while basic things are constantly spelled out for you such has how to walk up stairs. There is also so much dialogue and its very slow. also going up and down stairs is a difficult control because i'll activley try going up stairs and it wont let me but i cant walk by a ladder and suddenly i'll be climbing it without me trying to, i also keep getting physically stuck on the ladders and the character will not let go of it, there are more problems but this is the basics of the main ones. I would have refunded this game, but couldnt due to owning it for more than 2 weeks dispite me only playing it the day i tried to refund and only played for just over an hour.

Was a game that I was expecting since years ago, art is lovely, the story starts as a dark Disney's Alice in wonderland but ends as Alice meets Simone de Beauvoir. I'm not against the feminism but the game insert it in a kind of abrupt way, and feel a little out place. Anyways, leaving this detail out, the game is very enjoyable and really heartwarming, I will give it a thumbs up for the visuals and soundtrack.

Amazing & impactful game reminiscent of the style of old school classic animation meets Konami's "Clock Tower." The story is a bittersweet tale that many people can relate to in one way or another (or many), and in my opinion should be considered a modern, yet timeless, fairytale.
Above all else, the game is handcrafted with care and love in every corner, something that many recent games lack. Bye Sweet Carole is a game I bought immediately based on the visuals but put off playing because I had read about bugs. Having recently played and beaten it in a playthrough around 8 hours I can say that I did not encounter any bugs or performance issues. There were perhaps a few visual glitches here and there but nothing game breaking or distracting.

You've no doubt arrived here because of the visual style of the game. Bye Sweet Carole evokes that old school Disney aesthetic, and I will say it nails it for the most part. If you want this game purely for the hand drawn graphics then you will be very satisfied. The gameplay is like a side scrolling puzzle game, with some platforming and survival horror elements. The puzzles are good, not a cakewalk. The horror is hit or miss, the atmosphere, vibes and jump scares are pretty good but the hiding mechanic feels more like an annoyance, a slight interruption to you completing the puzzles.

The story follows a girl named Lana at an orphanage searching for her friend Carole. Much of the game is a big mystery as you try to find out what happened to your friend and whatever is happening at the orphanage. It takes place in the early 1900s England around the suffrage movement so the has a large women empowerment message. If there was a game that a young woman should play it probably should be this. If they can handle spooky stuff I would recommend it. Overall a solid game with great visuals, good puzzles but a little rough around the edges.

Bye Sweet Carole is strange case for me. Truth be told, i hated most of my time playing this game. The controls felt lacking and caused some deaths, the puzzles ranged from being too easy to being very hard without any notice and the game has a number of bugs which can result in some frustration. The artstyle is nice yes, but the story itself felt lacking for majority of the game, so much so that i ended up letting youtube videos play on the side whilst i figure out the puzzles.

Overall, i didn't enjoy most of my time with this game. Until the final chatper that is. The final chapter is beautifully written and animated. As the story pieces finally came together and presented itself, i found myself unable to look away. I paused my videos to properly focus on what was happening on the screen, captivated by what this dev studio has created. I won't say more, but i truly believe that this is some solid gold stuff, that while not may have forgiven a lot of the games downsides, is still so strong that i have to give this one a thumbs up.

Bye Sweet Carole is far from good in reality, it's buggy, has bad controls and spends a lot of time not really doing much with its story and characters, but the final chapter is so well presented that i'm unable to look at my time as a negative.

Play at your own risk.

As it stands right now, I can't fully recommend this game despite that it is super fun to play and entertaining to see the hand drawn animation. It feels like watching an old animated film made by Don Blueth.

However, I can't in good conscience fully recommend this game because the bugs in this game force you to rely on playthroughs instead of exploring the game yourself.

You can get through the full game. But in order to do so without having to replay the entire game, you have to move to the exact spot to trigger a scene, or move your characters in a specific order where order shouldn't matter (for instance, walking to a specific location that has nothing to do with stepping on a switch).

I've softlocked myself multiple times and had to restart the game three or five times. I genuinely hope this get fixed someday since these are serious bugs that can really make playing the game less enjoyable and makes me weary about exploring the game because I'm worried about triggering a bug that will keep me from moving forward.

If that can't be fixed with a patch, maybe a machanic that allows you to restart a level? Or an option for multiple save files? That could avoid the headache of having to replay the entire game just to undo a softlocking bug :(

But at any rate, as it currently stands, I had to restart this game too many times. I normally don't give negative reviews, but I want to warn anyone who has been waiting for this game like I have.
If you want to buy the game, by all means give it a try. But be very much aware of those bugs that will prevent you from moving forward.

What I will say next has a spoiler, but I will still try to be vague.

There is a really bad bug where you have two characters to control at an elevator. I highly recommend watching how others get through it, because the game is super picky and will trap you in a BAD softlock.
I did all the steps, but, because I wasn't exact, something that should have moved after pulling a switch didn't move.

Gameplay? Sucks. The animations are very long, which makes it annoying when you make the wrong decision. The fights are tedious, a waste of time, repetitive, smash button based. Puzzles are very basic, simple, annoying. Hide and Seek sometimes is random if it works or not.
The story is... flat. Even when the characters themselves scream, YELL, at the protagonist, FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS, it Does Not Happen. There Are No Consequences.
This is a story that tries to talk about feminism back in a 19 century era, about girls in an orphanage for girls, by A Man. And it shows...
Convoluted, it doesn't pay off. I'm angry. I wasted 9.5 hours of my life trying to see where the story goes. 8 hours of Lana screaming CAROLE the whole game. I got the explanation near the 9 hours, which was NOT surprising, the plot twist was EXPECTED.
Lana is Chloe.
Carole is Rachel.
Amanda is kind of like Max.
Vicky and her goons are Victoria and her goons.
And this is Life is Strange.

This is a game I'm going to introduce to my children.

The Disney-and-Don Bluth- inspired art makes the game easy to digest. The game, in my opinion, is a tale of grief in it's strongest sense: handling the different stages and aspects of grief. The disassociation, the denial, the rewriting of reality to avoid and how the mind will go to extreme lengths for the sake of 'protection'. The mix of two different perspectives and roles- self-assigned and one pushed on you- grapples wonderfully with the game maker's respectful portrayal of the emotional trauma response that is disassociation or an out-of-body experience to emotionally, mentally and spiritually distressing situations.
The game makers also had this applied to the enemies you face in game: normal items or cruelly made assumptions are your biggest OPs/Enemies.

Yet it's easy to play and digest. The story unfold yet several points where the 'silence speaks loudly'; some unspoken things dont need words or actions. They need the viewer to use their imagination and come to their own terms, acceptance and conclusion.

I plan to share this game with my future children to help them through grief. To help them learn that it's ok to be disoriented, to struggle to find answers and acceptance, and that it's ok to take the time you need- and paths you need- you work through your grief.

I loved it but I find myself wanting a sequel form a game that is clearly a gorgeous solo project. Well done and thank you for your hard work and the experience!

Mi è piaciuto molto questo gioco: lo stile, i cambi di stili di gioco e soprattutto la storia. Non è una semplice ricerca della verità ma ha una profondità che non tutte le storie possono vantarsi di avere, profondo su vari livelli e tematiche e ha un gran messaggio.
Fa emozionare mentre lo giochi e ti rimane qualcosa anche quando lo finisci.
Aggiungiamoci pure che è fatto da un team e software house italiana e che personalmente adoro lo stile 2D.. insomma non ne fan più tanti di videogiochi del genere.
Concludendo bellissimo, assolutamente consigliato!!

Фух, наконец-то я её прошёл, чтобы написать обзор.
Ниже будет честный, местами подробный отзыв (возможно длинноват, но что поделать - у меня бомбануло) об этой игре, в конце же будут спойлеры.

[h2] Общие впечатления [/h2]

Первой реакцией на эту игру была влюблённость. Старые Диснеевские мультфильмы будто решили продолжить жить во времени, и стали манить своей чудесной, невероятной ламповой магией через экран монитора, призывая погрузиться в захватывающий, чарующий мир этой игры.
Но в итоге:
Да хрен там. Обломись.

Знаете это чувство, когда твои родители должны подарить тебе тот-самый-подарок на праздник? Тот, о котором вы мечтали, который они обсуждали за закрытыми дверьми, который тайком упаковывали в коробку, и вы случайно это увидели. Помните это чувство ожидания, и трепет, когда вы снимаете упаковку, открываете коробку, и замираете в немом изумлении...
Потому что внутри находится вовсе не то, что вы хотели, видели, и о чем мечтали, а какая-то ненужная фигня? А тот-самый-лучший-в-мире-подарок, оказывается, они готовили соседскому ребенку, просто потому что не так поняли тебя! Но не расстраивайся, впереди же ещё не один праздник, всё будет хорошо. Но тебя уже захлестнуло чувство отчаяния вселенского масштаба, а еле сдерживаемые слёзы предательски начали наворачиваться в уголках глаз, и из груди вот-вот вырвутся первые хрипы детской обиды.
Вот из-за этого глубокого разочарования я решил размотать эту игру своим обзором как гопники в подворотне ботана на мелочь.
По пунктам.
И беспощадно.

[h2] Немного сюжета (без спойлеров +/-) [/h2]

Я редко люблю в обзорах раскрывать лор игры, чтобы игроки могли сами всё узнать, постигнуть, и проникнуться атмосферой. Но поскольку отзыв негативный, и я призываю игру не покупать, раскрытие сюжета здесь будет. Как створки устрицы, чтобы потом всю её - до дна.

Разработчики стремятся погрузить нас в запутанную историю маленькой девочки, потерявшей память, и забывшей, что она - последняя принцесса сказочного королевства Королла. Здесь мы видим птичек, несущих платье, ленточки, милых зверушек (а также - не самых милых, ведь игра заявлена как хоррор), всё это проводит нас сквозь сюжетную линию, центром которой станет противостояние с мистером Кином - аллегорией времени, и мы должны помочь вернуть нашей принцессе память, узнать что случилось с её подругой, и спасти сказочное Королевство. Попутно решая головоломки, спасаясь от преследователей, и просматривая все игровые ролики.
Ведь без них вы не получите достижения "пройти игру за более, чем 10 часов", а также "Внимательный слушатель" - ачивка, которую можно получить не пропуская ни одной кат-сцены, и ни одного диалога.
Круто?
Да ладно вам, это только начало.

[h2] Плюсы [/h2]

+красивая рисовка игры, это нечто восхитительное
+прекраснейшие плавные анимации
+красивые кат-сцены, в которых раскрывается лор игры
+1 в библиотеку
+наличие достижений (но об этом ниже)

[h2] Минусы [/h2]

-это сам сюжет, в разделе "спойлеры" я объясню почему
-слишком большой тайминг прохождения
-медленное передвижение
-головоломки - они не сложные, они душные, однотипные, унылые, однообразные, скучные, повторяющиеся, затянутые, занудные, обыденные, не интересные (поняли, надеюсь?)
Вы просто будете ходить в одной главе в одну и ту же локацию, чтобы там нажать кнопочку, потом вернуться в другое место (порой поменяться местами со своим компаньоном, и вернуть его на своё прежнее место, а ему занять ваше, ибо кнопочка не нажмется, а если не то нажали - начинай всё по новой), и так - всю игру.
-нереально душная атмосфера игры (хотя, кто бы мог подумать... эх...)
-достижения, вот здесь подробнее: про две самые душные я упомянул выше - нельзя пройти игру быстрее, чем 10 часов, 2-я - нужно глянуть все кат-сцены и диалоги (нельзя скипать ни-че-го, и ладно бы, это было интересно...), 3-я - это то, что в этой игре вам нужно умереть всеми известными смертями. А теперь - внимание! Часть смертей завязаны на диалогах, и кат-сценах, приколитесь? То есть ты не просто помираешь. Ты смотришь раз за разом всё это, и начинаешь кипеть... (а есть моменты, когда помереть нужно 2-3 раза разными способами, а кат-сцена запускается в самом начале. Круто?) Но, это не предел. Чтобы получить все достижения, игру всё же придётся проходить минимум три раза. Почему? Да потому что в ней есть такие взаимоисключающие вещи как: пройти игру менее, чем за 4 часа, пройти игру умерев всеми способами, пройти игру за 10 часов, не пропускать диалоги, и в итоге - пройти игру НИ РАЗУ НЕ УМЕРЕВ! (зловещий хохот злобных кроликов на фоне), а чтобы сделать эту ачивку вам придётся.... (...барабанная дробь...) перезапускать эти нудные и душные главы. Хорошо хоть, со 2-го прохождения можно будет скипать диалоги...
Это - трандец, граждане.
Но если вам не нужна платина, вас это не будет волновать так сильно.
-музыка... сперва она захватывает, атмосферно так погружает в лор игры, а вот когда вы в очередной раз перезапускаете главу, начинаете её тихо ненавидеть
-отсутствие карточек (хотя могли бы и крутой значок придумать - есть почва для этого)
-цена (рекомендую брать на скидках не менее 75%, чтобы отбилась по эмоциям)

[spoiler] Этот раздел для тех, кого во-первых, спойлеры не смущают, во-вторых, для всяких любопытных человеков (так и знал, что ты сюда заглянешь, шалунишка), а в третьих для тех, кто понял - он не хочет проходить игру на платину за 20-30 часов (хотя реально, её тайминг даже при троекратном прохождении должен быть раза в 3-4 меньше).
Понеслась.
Сюжет игры сперва построенный, как сказка, и волшебная история в 6-й главе делает резкий поворот, начиная намекать на повестку, а также, хоть и обыгрывая исторический контекст своего времени, зачем-то начинать погружаться в феминизм, вспоминая движение суфражисток, и последующие события. И из главы в главу этот посыл усиливается. В процессе оказывается, что мальчик - нифига не пацан, а девочка, которая запала на подругу главной героини, и с которой решила начать строить новую жизнь.
Апофеозом феминистического посыла становится бал в 9-й главе и последующие события, когда мужчины, приглашенные в Банни-холл сперва показаны безликими, и мерзкими, а потом превращаются в чудовищ, хватающих бедных несчастных кроликов (можете быть не согласны со мной, но обычно это - аллегория изнасилования, унижения, и издевательств). Если честно - это просто перебор. Потому что мало того, что во второй половине игры нас подводят к мысли: "все мужики козлы", так потом еще и уверяют, в самой мерзости их существования. Если честно, создаётся впечатление общей нездоровости контекста.
Помимо феминизма и повестки, здесь история о девочке, которая не хотела взрослеть, в связи с чем и был вызван из Разлома Мистер Кин, который, в итоге, как и вся история про Короллу оказывается посттравматическим расстройством Девочки, которая потеряла мать, и была вынуждена поселиться в Банни-Холле, и не было никакой магии, никаких историй, всё это - её попытка убежать от реальности (чтоооооооо, чтоооооо??? ЧТОООООО??? да я вам готов был и повестку простить, и феминизм, и то что я - козёл, и принадлежу к племени сволочей, но когда вы обломали всю сказку, когда это оказалось просто фантазией, здесь даже моё ангельское вековое терпение пропало, и я решил всё это заспойлерить). Ибо это не неожиданная развязка, а полнейшее гуано. Когда в итоге Лана бежит навстречу новому восхитительному миру суфражисток, попутно забывая всё, что было ранее. Это фиаско, на самом деле.
Да-да, то самое вселенское чувство облома и разочарования.
Знал бы я это раньше, сделал бы рефанд, честно.
Добавьте сюда всё это душнилово, и поймете насколько эта игра в моём мировоззрении из райских кущей, была низвергнута в пучины ада.

Я бы не рекомендовал её покупать. От магии не остаётся ни следа, загадки приедаются, история начинает тригеррить, отсутствие логики - выбешивать. Боссы в игре скучные, и пройти их сможет даже ребенок. Пройти и не уснуть, это нужно постараться. Как и получить платину.

I started this game expecting it to be a complete horror game. While it didn't have as much horror as I thought. It was still a very great story, with a lot of puzzels that stumped me. The plot twists were alos interesting, and made me suprised when I accidently predicted one a video or two before I found it. I enjoyed this game a lot.

Un très bon petit jeu d'aventure !
Si en premier lieu on est évidemment charmé par les graphismes tout bonnement exceptionnels, que ce soit dans les cinématiques ou dans le jeu en lui-même, où chaque petit détail est incroyable de beauté, le gameplay est simple, mais efficace. On alterne plusieurs phases entre infiltration, puzzle et plateforming. L'univers créé est à la fois étrange et prenant, avec une influence d'Alice aux Pays des Merveilles assez évidente.
Bref, j'ai passé un très bon moment sur ce jeu, et j'ai hâte de le continuer !

Poleciłabym grę gdyby nie to, że często miałam problem z sterowaniem, a dokładnie z mechanizmem kołowrotka. Gdy naciskałam X (kontroler XBOX) i kręciłam bądź na klawiaturze E i kręciłam to bohaterka zamiast kręcić to cofała się i przez to rozgrywka trwała dłużej. Nie raz ginęłam tylko dlatego, że mechanizm nie działał. Kilka razy wyłączałam grę by problem naprawić. Na plus zdecydowanie fabuła, która też zachęciła mnie aby poczytać o surfażystkach i walki o prawo do głosowanie kobiet. Grafika to kwestia gustu, bardzo przypomina Księżniczkę i Żabę Disneya. W skali dziesięciostopniowej oceniłabym na 7/10 ze względu na występujące błędy w grze, problemy z sterowaniem.

Супер кривые скрипты? Да

Монстр может видеть тебя, даже если ты находишься вне поля его зрения.
Монстр при погоне может застревать и не пропадать до перезахода.
Прыжки по стенам могут не работать, даже если ты все нажимаешь вовремя.
Превращаться в зайца и обратно, чтобы попадать на локацию выше? Да, только как это работает(???)

Словом, зайдет, если ты оч терпеливый и не бесишься, если в игре что-то идет не так, хотя ты все сделал правильно.
