Игра больше бесит управлением, механикой и невозможно куда-либо попасть из-за внезапно "невидимых стен" в одно направление, в том месте, от куда упал.

Let's say this game is not for me... but it's cool enough to deserves the blue thumb up. For me, it's too hard to understand where to go and what to do... so it often looks like a useless exploration. Add to that dozens of fail & retry on those lights... turning this game in something quite painful. So very good game with some nice unique mecanics... for those who like the concepts.

32 hours of game play reflects more my inability to play but its still quite a long game and I enjoyed exploring the world before me. The gameplay was actually pretty good and the level of skill required to navigate the various obsticles is a challenge, but if I can do it then well, maybe you can too. The mazes were frustrating and I spent far too long in those. The puzzle elements were satisfying to solve. I found use of the yellow, red, green, purple beams gradually introduced as the levels progressed helped with the learning the mechanics. So, I enjoyed BEAM and happy to finally finish it. This is a very different kind of puzzle game than anything else that I have played and glad I played it. Thanks to the devs. Recommended.
EDIT: Now onto chapter 3 and its super difficult but I keep coming back to try to progress further. Its got me hooked. Finally, after an epic battle, I have completed BEAM 100% and feel exhausted.
Looking back, one of the most memorable moments was being chased by the underground tunnel boring machine grinding through the rocks and me only just keeping up infront to jump my way out of a certain messy death. Brilliant. Thanks.

This coincides with my 20 years of service on the Steam platform. Happy anniversary to me

This game is just broken since demo version.
For example some actions didn't trigger so doors can't open.
When I changed in setting the mouse pointer it cannot be reset in any kind even by reinstalling the whole game so it makes it just unplayable.

I do not recommend this game.

Something different and something good Beam is. Reminds me of the experience I had with The Ball, Marble Madness and various other games out there. As for issues with the game people mention the controls being a problem but it is false. It is just all about learning a different control set. Simple as that. As for graphics it isn't anything amazing but that is not the selling point with this game. Finally in regards to what I paid for this game I paid $10 and change during the Steam Summer Sale or around that time and well what I have played so far has been fun but as for recommending it to buy well let me say I recommend you get it and then decide in 2 hours whether or not you want to keep it or get a Steam refund. I decided to keep it. That decision was made long ago when I got my hands on the demo.

Очень приятное графическое оформление. Неплохая местами музыка.

На этом плюсы - всё...

Минусы: довольно посредственный геймплей, КРАЙНЕ дубовая физика, КРАЙНЕ дубовое управление. А также ни на минуту не затыкающийся галдеж внутриигровых персонажей (главный Гэ и суперкомпьютер - баба). Я даже не понял пока что меня выбесило больше из этого. Но то, что за полчаса этого экшна у меня голова просто опухла, это факт!

Может потом пройду эту игру. Но даже своих около 500р. она не стоит! Надеюсь, поменяю свое мнение, если игра далее окажется интересной. Но вот дубовое управление просто удручает. И дело даже не в кривых руках, а в большинстве своем в той самой убогой физике, когда шар подпрыгивает на любой кочке, а когда надо срочно выпустить пар в луч, чтобы по нему проехать, камера умудряется резко подняться выше или ниже того уровня, куда ты прицелился. В итоге - падение и иногда даже на начало уровня. БЕСИТ!

The game takes too much precision, which is very difficult with a keyboard and mouse. After about 10 times of doing the same load over and over....you finally succeed only to have your pod explode on structural failure....then guess what....start all over again....blah! After hours of play, still on second level...blek! You can't save your progress, a bitter failure for a game this difficult.

Sehr schöner Rätselplattformer mit einer kleinen Prise Portal-Humor. I like! Für das erste Game des Teams ein gelungener Titel. Spielt sich soweit flüssig, um kleinere Probleme wird sich motiviert direkt gekümmert und hat für mich direkt einen kleinen Suchtfaktor entwickelt :D Wege und Rätsel sind teils easy und gehen gut von der Hand und teils fordernd, aber niemals unfair. Setting ist cool, Atmosphäre kommt rüber. Passt für mich.
Bin gespannt, was mich noch so erwarten wird :)

This reminds me of Portal so many times. The humor is there, the look and feel is just right. Controls may pose a challenge, if you think that you can learn everything within the first 5 minutes. Just dive in and get comfortable with the controls over time. Yes, you will probably fail 1-2 times but not too often. The game doesn't start at 100% difficulty. Hence, you have a chance to make progress and be prepared for more complexity. The game gives a good tutorial-like introduction and is somewhat noob-friendly. For a puzzler, I very much like the fact that levels and parts of levels are not too open so that you cannot run into the wrong direction for too long. The level design seems thought through in this regard. Depending on your position, you may get a good grasp of where you have to [strike]go[/strike] roll in the current level. I'm very much looking forward to playing this through and updating this review.

If you are looking for your next challenge, you have found it!

In this platformer, you manipulate light beams with different properties (bouncing, sticking ...) to escape a spaceship wreck - together with your intelligent escape pod MARBLE. The dialogue between these two is simply hilarious - Definite Portal Vibes!

While challenging, the game is super fun and rewarding - the hidden collectibles alone are must see. Behind the scenes footage and interviews with the developers. I have not seen many games that had these before.

The graphics can compete with many of today's AAA games, and when you consider that this is a new indie developer, it's really impressive.

If you like Portal, a challenge, and charming indie games - This is a must buy!

Ein fantastisches "Roll"enspiel ;D. Tolle Athmosphäre, schöne Effekte, tolle Grafik, die Steuerung reagiert schnell (aber trotzdem physikalisch korrekt - die Trägheit der Kugel wird mit berücksichtigt) der Sound ist klasse gewählt und das Setting ist etwas ganz besonderes, vor allem die Gespräche und die Rätsel und Geschicklichkeitsübungen sind sehr gelungen - tolles Spiel!

[i]"Is it going to take loooooong?"[/i] If you wait for Portal 3 ... maybe, if you´re looking for your next challenging experience, no, you found it! I can´t point my finger on it, but I have so strong portal-vibes with this game. So if you liked Portal, Beam might be your next game. Instead of portals (and funny sticky gluey fluids) you have beams, emerging from kristalls with varios colors. Each color have its own unique capabilitys you can activate temporarily. And also instead of trying to kill you, the AI´s job is to save you from a collapsing starship, while you are rolling around in a mobile rescue pod, called MARBLE. What´s not kind of an easy task, because your charakter is an impulsive chatterbox. And thats the foundation for a lot of the humor in the game.

Technically, the game have very good graphics for a title in this pricesegment and is fully dubbed on a professionel level and have an awesome soundtrack! I had no bugs so far, just one time, I glitched in a box and exploded. But I have to admit, I was very hyperactive with jumping and pushing stuff around, so, no hard feelings. Beside that, no crashs or breakdowns (except my mental breakdowns probably :D )

Yeah, I liked to mobile-game-clickbait a bit, but believe me, this game is not for the faint hearted. If you have to think in portals in Portals, in Beam, you have to think in beams BUT also you need good controller skills, good timing and a very high frustration tolerance.

So, if you are looking for a hardcore challange with good graphics and a good sence of humor, this is your game, enjoy! :)

I can highly recommend Beam to any platformer fan out there. The game eases you into it relatively smooth, but becomes challenging pretty quickly. The level design tries to mix down-up or horizontal movement with cleverly placed objectives (visible in the background) or new obstacles (bridge collapse, for instance). The combination of the light beams with the crystals is an interesting concept that so far keeps on shaking things up. Backed up by the gloomy environment of the crashed spaceship which you try to escape, Beam will undoubtedly provide you with hours and hours of nail-biting, fun, exciting gameplay. Go check it out!

Ich war überrascht über die grafische Qualität. Der Developer ist ein kleines Indie Studio und was ich sehe, kann mit größeren Spielen mithalten. Lediglich die Sprachausgabe des Protagonisten (den Typen in der Kugel) klingt ein wenig gestellt. Aber das berührt das interessante Gameplay nicht. Hab in der Spielzeit bisher auch keinerlei Bugs oder Glitches entdecken können, auch nice. Die Mechanik ist neu und interessant. Dabei schaffen sie es in jedem Level einen neuen Aspekt einzuführen und das Ganze immer wieder ein wenig zu erweitern. Der Soundtrack ist auch bombig. Sollte der als DLC kommen ich wäre dabei. Als Freund von oldschool-tech fände ich auch eine Tape auch nice, aber das ist halt nur wishful-thinking :)

I had my eyes for some time now on this game. It's really beginner friendly, but for the later sections, I had to use some brainpower and gaming skill.
If you're like me and on the never ending journey to find a good challenge, you've found it!

Schönes kleines Spiel das einen zu Verzweiflung bringen kann so wie es Platformer nunmal tun. Es wird schnell sehr knifflig die richtigen Absprungzeiten zu erreichen oder seinen Nebel richtig zu timen. Alles in allem ist das Spiel perfekt geeignet für eine kleine Runde zwischendurch (die dann doch ausartet weil man diese Stelle unbedingt noch schaffen will).
Dabei besticht das Spiel unter anderem auch mit charmanten Dialogen zwischen dem Hauptcharakter und der Marble (Gefährt in dem dieser sitzt). Die ziehen quasi ständig übereinander her. Diese Dialoge sind die beste Belohnung wenn man nach etlichen Versuchen das Ende des Levels dann tatsächlich erreicht hat ^^
Nebenbei ... wer sich daran aufhängt das die Spielzeit nur mit 8h angegeben ist ... Naja ich habe gefühlt gerade mal angefangen und um die 8h zu erreichen muss man schon ein Profi des Genres sein. Ich gehe eher davon aus, das ich das fünffache der Zeit benötigen werde um zum Ende zu gelangen wenn ich zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt schätzen müsste.

Ein nettes Spiel für anspruchsvolle Platformer und Puzzle Liebhaber. Liebevoll gestaltet und für das erste Spiel des Teams ein Hingucker voller Bälle, Chaos und Laser.

Die Herausforderungen sind anfangs einfach zu lösen, werden aber im späteren Verlauf deutlich schwerer. Teilweise aber auch geschuldet der Spielmechanik. Grade wenn man schnell fällt kann es passieren, dass man sich nicht auf den Strahlen halten kann (Oder zu früh an einem Strahl hängen bleibt).
Auch passiert es gerne mal, dass man durch einen unscheinbaren Korridor rollt eine 90 grad kurve hinlegt und geradeaus in eine Flammenwand rollt. Ich glaube hier war ich immer zu achtlos, oder habe einfach keine Reflexe.. XD

Die Sprecher sind Grandios, mit hilfreichen Anmerkungen und viel Witz helfen sie dem Spieler sich in der Welt zurecht zu finden. Jedoch kommt es schon mal vor, dass man sich etwas verloren fühlt, was bei Puzzle Spielen aber gerne mal erlaubt ist.

Die Spielwelt er mich sich rum rollt ist wirklich ein Hingucker. Von detailreichen Kulissen bis zum absoluten Chaos ist alles dabei. Während man sich durch Korridore und über Hindernisse Rollt gibt es einiges zu sehen Und zu finden. 56 Herausforderungen jedes Level mit versteckten Collectables. Es gibt einiges zu erkunden.
Der Detailreichtum ist aber auch teil der Schwierigkeit. So bleibt man gerne mal an Zierrahmen von Kisten Hängen oder verpasst den Sprung beim abwärts rollen einer Rampe.

Alles in allem ein schönes spiel mit ein paar Macken. Aber auf jeden Fall mit interessanten Mechaniken und viel Abenteuer und Witz.

The gameplay is easily explained: You roll a ball, you spray fog towards lightbeams with different properties and you navigate through the levels.
But from the very beginning you notice that it's not as easy as it sounds. Not only do you have to time your jumps and the fog correctly, you also have to find you way through the levels. Which should be easy in a 2.5D game, right? Not quite, as you can also rotate the camera at certain points. This adds lots of depth to the levels and makes the game much more complex than it seems at first.

All in all it's a fun puzzle platformer with a small touch of metroidvania!

Should be called 'Beaming Over It' since it can be unforgivingly hard at times. Felt a bit wonky at first, but I got used to the controls pretty quickly and ended up having quite a bit of fun!

I really like the fact that you can rotate your camera at different places, which adds so much depth to the levels! The music in the game is stunning and the visuals are really good. The dialog between the marble and the captain is very funny and reminds me of the portal series.

Ein wirklich schönes Puzzle und Geschicklichkeitsspiel, klassisch und modern zugleich. Klassische Mechanismen, schöne Sprungrätsel, die zwar gutes Timing und erfordern aber nicht zwingend auf den letzten Milimeter ausgereizt werden müssen, eine eingängige und einleuchtende Steuerung und beeindruckende Grafik und tolle Soundkulisse.

Am Anfang war ich erst einmal etwas überwältigt durch die vielen Details der Umgebung, aber durch die vorgegebenen Bewegungspfade ist es überhaupt nicht möglich sich zu verlaufen (oder in diesem Fall zu verrollen).

Fordernd aber nicht frustrierend - so muss ein Puzzlespiel heute aussehen!

Great 2,5D Puzzle Plattformer. Very fun and also challenging.
Funny Dialogs and brilliant graphics.

Interesting new game mechanics that gives you many opportunities to master the many puzzles.

Comes with many achievements and gives you way more than the predicted 8 hours of gametime.

Its a very good and fun game for a cheap price. Give it a try!

The game is really great! I watched the creator stream from time to time and it felt like they put a lot of work and heart in the game, so i decided to give it a shot.
Now after the first few hours i think it's maybe a bit difficult but a really good game.
The estimated game time of ~7h is probably when you are either a total platformer crack or already know the game pretty well.
For me it will be more like 20h + and even more when i would decide to get all archievments and collectables.
What impressed me the most is the fact that the game is increadible stable/bug free, especially compared to some larger companies, which have a lot more manpower and resources (Anthem-Bioware for example...).

It is the first game of this company and i hope that more people will notice this game and give it a shot.

TLDR; Really good game for a cheap price - is my first review ever so sorry if it's a bit unstructured :P

Pretty 3D Puzzle Platformer that truly challenges your precision and multitasking skills - exactly my thing.
Visuals can easily compete with modern AAA games. Really stunning scenes with nice 2.5D backgrounds and effects.
Sometimes I just stop in between and watch. Also offers funny backstory pieces and cutscenes.
Overall a really nice package. Looking forward to play further.

Da ich ein großer Fan von Puzzle-Plattformern bin und mir die Screenshots gefallen habe, habe ich mir Beam einmal angeschaut und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Die Idee Lichtstrahlen mit Nebel zu verändern ist echt mal etwas Neues und macht super viel Spaß. Dazu kommen die witzigen Gespräche zwischen MARBLE und Martin, die mich dazu treiben weiter zu machen, um den nächsten Gesprächs-Fetzen zu erhalten.
Auch wenn ich mir an manchen Stellen echt knifflig ist, finde ich das Spiel schon richtig gut. Muss wohl noch etwas geübter werden...

Am Anfang hatte ich ein wenig Probleme mit der Steuerung, wollte aber nicht aufgeben, da mir die liebevolle Grafik und der Sound gut gefallen haben. Es ist schon kniffelig, die richtigen Absprungpunkte zu finden und den Nebel passend zu lenken. Ich habe immer noch viel Spaß, auch beim Erkunden der ganzen Gänge und Ecken. Freue mich schon auf die Erweiterungen. Jetzt will ich aber eine echte Marble als Ersatz für mein Auto – ist noch Merch geplant? Grüße an das BEAM-Team - ich will mehr!

Классная игрушка ! Честно, не ожидала от маленькой инди-компании такого результата . Идея, графика, музыка - на уровне, прикольные шутки ,интересные загадки . Классно, что можно не просто бродить, а и собирать разные штучки.
