十年前买的游戏，意料之外的很短只花了三个小时🤔
剧情不算多有意思，看一半就能猜个大概了，结局我也不是很喜欢，[spoiler]死了那么多人，包括男主的好友，最后居然轻描淡写地翻篇了……而且一想到起因只是塑料姐妹花之间愚蠢的猜忌心就觉得有点可笑 [/spoiler]
不过考虑到这是十年前的游戏，当时Steam上悬疑类的视觉小说确实不多，这款算是不错的了，而且除了男主以外都有配音。
作者到现在还在持续更新，时不时做些优化调整，这些年陆续加了插图、多语言这些内容。打折的时候价格也很便宜，冲着这些我觉得可以在评价上宽容一点。
喜欢悬疑类型的可以试试，或者花两三个小时练练外语也不错。

okay the plot actually goes HARDDD, they did the villain of the story well even though the main motivation. the game will basically try to kill you, and you need to not makes mistakes in order to reach the one and only good ending in the game (aka the true end).
the mc doesn't have a character sprite for some reason which kinda confused me at first but you're playing as a highschooler dude, where the ONLY time you'll ever see the mc is at the true end. such a sweet ending ngl it has it's bad and good sides at the same time
ANDDD I DIDN'T EXPECT THE GAME TO HAVE VOICE ACTING TOO which shows that it's super well made. I just kinda hope that the character sprites have more variations but I understand since it was released in 2015. I was surprised by how modern the UI is compared to other VN's out there. I personally believe it's still worth to play >o<

BAD END is a B-movie-esque, contrived visual novel, but it's surprisingly not [i]too[/i] bad.
The synopsis is basically what it says on the box: Kyuuhei's friend Yuuji dies while playing the mystery-surrounded, supposedly death-inducing mobile game BAD END, and then, at least in the true route, Kyuuhei plays the game himself to discover how it caused Yuuji's death.
The writing quality and premise are, again, at the level of a B-movie, but I can sometimes be pretty partial to those types of stories. I'd almost say I liked BAD END, but it was the number of endings and process of reaching them that soured it for me to the level of ambivalence. It turns out that BAD END (the game within the game) gives [spoiler]you one freebie—you don't immediately die if you reach one bad end, but you do die if you reach two.[/spoiler] Half of the endings in the game stop there, and play in the more or less the same way every time. And the other endings beside the true ending aren't much better. It's not surprising that a game called BAD END has a lot of bad endings, but that doesn't mean that I like them.
Overall, BAD END is mediocre. It seems like it goes on sale often and for very cheap, and it's only about two hours long, so if nothing else, it could be a decent time killer, but don't go into expecting to be blown away.

VN sympatoche qui se boucle en 3h grand max qui se divise en 2 histoires parallèles :
- La 1ère est celle du protagoniste qui après la mort d'un de ses potes des suites d'un jeu dans lequel perdre signifie la mort dans la réalité, décide de s'y mettre aussi tout en enquêtant pour découvrir l'origine de ce jeu.
- la 2ème est celle du jeu maudit lui même baptisé "BAD END" qui suit une étudiante poursuivie par une entité malfaisante et hostile dont le seul but est de la tuée.
Chaque affrontement vous donne plusieurs choix à faire, et faire le mauvais signifie la mort aussi bien pour le personnage que pour le joueur et donne donc accès à l'une des nombreuses fins et à un succès (ce qui poussera les complétistes à mourir un bon nombre de fois :) ) mais le jeu grand seigneur vous accorde tout de même un droit à l'erreur sans répercutions funeste.
Le scénario est assez classique et efficace mais ne surprendra personne qui a déjà eu à faire avec des histoire à base d'objet maudit dans la lignée de Ring et consort.
Mais le jeu est suffisamment court pour pouvoir être bouclé en une session de jeu (ce fût mon cas) et peux vous comblez si vous n'avez rien à vous mettre sous la dent ou aucune envie de vous lancez dans un gros jeu qui va vous accaparer de nombreuse heures.
Un dernier mot au sujet de la traduction française...
Je la qualifiais de fonctionnelle. Pas d'énorme fotes d'ortogrfe mais beaucoup de problème de conjugaisons. Énormément de phrases sont eu présent de l'indicatif alors qu'elle ne devrait pas l’être
Exemple: un perso se souvient soudainement de quelque chose et dit "J'entend ça quelque part" au lieu de "J'ai entendu ça quelque part"
Vers la fin du jeu plusieurs phrases au sens improbable te saute à la gueule, bref c'est une VF torchée vite fait mais qui vous n'emperchera pas de comprendre l'histoire. Et pour avoir fait un rapide p"tit tour, la version anglaise n'a pas l'air particulièrement mieux lottie.

I can't lie, when I first got into the game, I thought it was REALLY bad and REALLY stupid. Like, it feels like the first half of the game is "this game... le kill people" and "my best fried... le died? but how? did he... play le game?" over and over again, and its REALLY obnoxious.
But after it gets going, the story gets kind of interesting and intriguing in a way that genuinely took me by surprise. As others have mentioned, the game is kind of cliche and silly, but I really liked learning more and putting the pieces together as it went on. I got the good ending and I don't really care to get all of the other bad endings, and its pretty solid. I'd say its worth checking out if its on sale and you wanna kill an hour.
I actually first played this game way back in 2015 when I was like 12 and I think I genuinely got scared so bad by some jumpscare that I just stopped playing. I wonder if I would have liked this game more if I kept at it, it def feels like it would be hella impactful if I was younger when I played it first...
Its an alright visual novel. The horror isn't too bad and its just right for those with faint of heart. The gameplay may be short as said on the store page description and the other endings are just as. Music is decent and is just enough for the situations you're put in. The graphics are decent as well although lacking in some expressions which makes some conversations quite dull to go through. Personally, the sprites are positioned too high which lets my eyes drift from the text bar to the sprites to see expression changes but as I said, didn't happen much unfortunately. Characters were unfortunately not as memorable but for a VN that can be completed in less than 4 hours, you can at least etch their names in your mind for the whole game.
All in all, its a decent enough VN to read through if you have less than 4 hours to spare with your free time.

Decent short VN. Art is decent and writing is OK (albeit predictable). If you have a few hours to kill it gets the job done. But if you're expecting anything unique outside of its general premise it will probably fall flat for you. Overall I don't regret my time with this game.

Poco que decir aquí, novela visual corta (te puede durar unas 2 horas de lectura tranquila) de terror con una historia interesante, buen arte y una correcta traducción al español.
Hay una cosa que puntualizar, la descripción del juego dice lo siguiente: «Una historia corta y emocionante que cambia según tus elecciones". Bueno, eso último no es del todo verdad, la historia es totalmente lineal, es verdad que hay elecciones y 14 finales, pero 13 de estos son finales malos y solo el 14 es el final real de la historia, si no tomas las elecciones correctas para llegar a él, el juego terminará con uno de los otros 13.
Por último, por ser quisquilloso y sacarle algún defecto diría que la elección de la fuente para el texto no es la más acertada, no es nada grave, como puede verse en las capturas la fuente es clara y se lee bien, pero es de tipo «serif» y está más que demostrado que en pantallas las fuentes tipo «sans serif» y dentro de estas las «humanistas» (como la que usa Steam) son mucho más legibles y cansan menos la vista, pero como he dicho esto ya es ponerse quisquilloso.

Bad End ist eine recht interessante Story allerdings mit sehr trockener Umsetzung. Wenig visuelle Abwechslung und allgemein nicht viel Variation. Der Plot ist einigermaßen vorhersehbar und daher auch keine große Überraschung mehr am Ende. Overall ganz okay aber unter den 5€ Spielen kein Highlight. die 14. Verschieden Endings sind für mich auch kein wirklich Mehrwert, da die Reise zu diesen wirklich trocken und zäh ist.

I can't believe our best friend died so we could get a girlfriend
BAD END is an horror Visual Novel with multiple choices and 14 different endings.
I'll start this review by mentioning that the game is still relatively short, but nevertheless a solid 2-3 hours of playtime to get all endings. The artstyle is great, the music is relatively good too (the one track with banging on metallic railings is quite annoying to be honest xD) and the writing is alright. The writing doesn't have any typos but it does feel very emotionless and it's it could've been much better. Talking about something else that could've been much better is the overall plot of the game and as much as I recommend it, it could've been a lot better.
The story is cliché and while I did not see the main ending coming, it is still pretty obvious in the end. The death scenes are not varied enough and honestly game isn't scary whatsoever. I did enjoy the plot and the setting of the game, especially the idea of a game that kills you in real life for failing. So taking into account the low price of the game, I would recommend it to players who like weird/mysterious visual novels.
Overall, a good and original game that could've been a great game, worth playing to the end and gets you really engaged.

Novela visual corta de terror con una historia intrigante y buena múscica.
Endlich durchgespielt! Kenne die Visual Novel schon seit Ewigkeiten und habs irgendwann mal aufm Handy angefangen aber bin nicht sehr weit gekommen. Hat mich aber jetzt direkt (wieder) in seinen Bann gezogen und diesmal auch nicht mehr losgelassen! Der Plot ist echt nice, hat Hand und Fuß und es war zwischendrin mega spannend. Einfach echt ne coole Geschichte, wenn man den Horror Aspekt mit den Bad Ends gut verdauen kann. Hat auf jeden Fall super viel Spaß gemacht alle Enden zu finden! Aber natürlich auch die Wahrheit und das True Ending zu finden und zu erleben! Hat mich gut unterhalten, wenn auch leider zu kurz für mein Empfinden, hätte gerne mehr gehabt von dem Spiel ❤️

BAD END é um jogo interessante, o personagem principal, Kyuuhei, está tentando descobrir como seu amigo Yuuji morreu e descobre que tem a ver com um jogo para celular que surgiu na internet, Kyuuhei então começa a jogar e descobre que se morrer no jogo pode morrer na vida real.
O jogo é bem simples em todos os sentidos, é um jogo de terror mas tem apenas a temática de terror, não é jogo que d~e medo ou que tenha uma atmosfera de terror em si, tem vários finais que apenas mostram uma tela dizendo Bad End e nada mais e até mesmo a história e os personagens são bem simples sem muito desenvolvimento, no entanto o jogo é divertido, a história apesar do pouco desenvolvimento é interessante, tem um certo plot twist apesar de não ser nada muito incrível.
Pegando em uma promoção eu diria que vale a pena comprar.

Definitivamente un buen juego entretendo, no me causo mucho terror, pero si me entretuvo bastante.

Це якісний проєкт на "добре", який запам'ятається і про який я буду згадувати тільки позитивно.
Хочу зауважити, що тут дуже гарні арти та легка англійська, я не втомлювалась під час проходження і вже після першої поганої кінцівки хотілось відкрити їх всі, а не просто вижити. Немає тут діалогів, що повторюються та просто пожирають час гравця, все компактно та гармонійно в цьому плані.
В жанрах зазначено, що це хоррор, але через відсутність сцен насилля або хоча б моторошного озвучування під час кульмінаційних моментів, мені не було страшно, як мало би бути. Було трохи напружливо та до дідька цікаво, що ж там далі - виживу я, чи ні. Ось ще невеличка порада: зберігайтеся перед вибором того чи іншого маршруту, це збереже вам час. Ви будете вмирати, дуже багато вмирати, бо не все можна прорахувати або передбачити. Та хороша кінцівка є і вона чекатиме вас, ви зможете розгадати причину містичних подій в цьому містечку.
Любите візуальні новели або якщо просто не кривитесь від аніме - поповніть свою бібліотеку хорошою грою. Під час розпродажу майже задарма можна придбати с:

Ca a un côté très sympa et puis... quand on arrive à la fin, aux révélations, y'a un côté "n'importe nawak" qui vous emporte et vous écoeure. Disons que j'ai aimé les 2/3 du jeu et que j'aurais préféré ne pas connaitre le troisième tiers.
Ca reste sympa quand même mais c'est frustrant parce que ça aurait pu être bien plus que le "VN dont on se souviendra pas dans une semaine".
Bad End was a surprisingly good novel to play through despite it being such a short read. I really enjoyed how getting the various bad endings actually contributed to the story rather than being like other VNs where a bad ending is just that. The art work was also really clean and enjoyable. For such a cheap indie game it has a lot of charm and I can definitely recommend it.

Se você tiver chance de assistir não deixe de assistir, ele tem muito a ver com este game; no filme os personagens jogam um jogo online e ao morrer em game, morrem também na vida real.
Aqui no game BAD END, á um novo aplicativo; que promete prêmios e coisas incríveis por quem superar os desafios, só que um grande porém; Se você perder, será perseguido em vida real por um encosto e possivelmente irá a morte.
De inicio temos a opção de relutar em jogar e se não jogar, de saída já ativamos um final bom.
Se jogarmos, teremos que traçar rotas para auxiliar nossos companheiros de história a chegar num rumo de fuga ou fim da criatura.
O game me pegou por isso, a temática do filme é nostálgica para mim e coloquei o que lembrava dele, na vontade de jogar esse game.
Os personagens são bem interessantes, não tem muito desenvolvimento por se conhecerem pelo game e estarem em risco de morte eminente, mas os diálogos são bem produzidos e as coisas que vão acontecendo de nossas escolhas também são bem assertivas.
Confesso que me surpreendeu, indico totalmente este novel.
São 14 finais, porém você consegue fazer facilmente. Possui cartinhas steam e tem uma escrita de fácil entendimento.

因為是一邊做別的事情一邊玩的，所以遊戲時間包含掛機，遊戲本身時長很短。
劇情方面，簡簡單單輕輕薄薄，我一直很期待最後可以來個TE回馬槍結果非常乾脆的結束了，只留下「你們死得好冤啊」的餘韻（？）。另外本作恐怖的點……嚴格來說除了最初盤可以回收到的放棄遊戲的選項以外都不太可怕（。
尤其是知道真相後更有種「嗯……什麼跟什麼啊。」的感覺。
完全不推薦給喜歡暗黑恐怖解謎之類的人。要不然就是放棄執著跟思考，當成殺時間的快樂BE收集遊戲就好。
因為我喜歡收集BE所以姑且給個好評。

A fitting name for an awesome horror themed visual novel, a game within a game. Is there really a happy ending within this game? Well, you'll just have to find out. I love the art style, the music and the characters, they all have their place in this awesome world. Give this one a try but best be warned, rumour has it, if you die in the game, you die in real life...

Well, I have to admit to be pleasantly surprised. I think this is a solid story. It's exactly how the characters "out of the game" describe it, in that it doesn't look like too much at first, but it has layers upon layers. And the ending was satifying, something I have to be honest, I didn't expect from the subject matter. I have to give my kudos to the writer. Even if the text wanders here and there (see my notes about translation), the story is conveyed and it's good.
Which in this case it's a bit of a shame. Honestly, I have grips with the fact the subject theme was wasted on the UI and general presentation. The story is literally about a game (within a game). So, why the visuals didn't reflect this?
For example, when inside the girl's game, it would have been nice to see the difference with the "real life" look. Maybe add a frame, like that of a cellphone, and a vertical presentation only for that part of the story. A GUI inside the GUI. Or a filter that makes everything look like you're looking at the screen. There's so many missed opportunities.
Besides, it's ridiculous that the "in game" sprites look exactly like the "out game" ones. There should have been a shift there - hell, that could have been scary to see something there resemble the other reality, while not quite fitting in it.
There's also the issue the sprites almost don't move. At first I found myself looking at the screen, trying to figure out who was talking. You don't have to animate the mouth, but at least make the mouth open (or the sprites jump?) to indicate who's talking.
The lack of sound design also. Reading "gah irk ugh" and all those other suggested dying sounds... you know how effective it would have been if I could have heard the voice?
Just mentioning these things because I feel the writing deserve better. That said, and despite all my praise of the writing, there are some obvious issues, of course. For one, the translation is bad... it takes me out from the immersion of the story when everything sounds unnatural/fake or it's near impossible to understand (I played it in English, for clarification. I could try the Spanish version to see if it's a problem that carries there too. But I'm guessing it doesn't sound like this in the original language.).
Other than that, the choices placement is good, and the story gets you interested... even if the fact is you don't get a clue what is a good and bad choice... especially in the begining. You are bound do die, and that takes away from the initial tension of making a mistake by the next time you make a choice. This may be by design, though... the writers might have thought it was too much tension XD
So all in all, a solid 7/10 in writing, 6/10 everything else.
Btw, I haven't been able to get Bad End 5. If somebody has any guide on how to get that, please and thank you.

不过有一个很好笑的地方就是,第一次碰到鬼影说话的时候,鬼影说了一句"よくも",当时我就接了一句"よくも私の男を奪ったよね",结果后面的剧情还真是这么发展的

BAD END is a short horror visual novel with a bit of a clique plot and some unintentional funny moments.
The overall game is fairly short, about an hour or two depending on how fast you read, but it makes up for the length with the amount of possible endings it has. Getting the bad endings is fairly easy and doesn't really require a guide to figure them out, as from playing it blind you're more than likely to come across at least one during a playthrough. The choices will have a 1/3 or 1/2 chance on being the correct one so choosing the wrong ones isn't so difficult. The catch though is you have to get it wrong twice in a row in some places to get that bad end.
As for the plot, yeah, it's a little generic and the horror isn't really that scary but I did like the characters for the most part.
For what it's worth, it's really not a bad game despite its flaws, plus it's pretty cheap so you can't really go wrong there. Overall though, I would recommend it for those who enjoy the horror vn genre.

Bad End is a story about a mobile game that kills the player if he or she dies in the game.
Decent artwork and good plot development are the main strong points of the novel.
This is a story-driven game. The plot itself screams horror, but unfortunately the game does not delve much into it; i.e. no scare jump scenes, relatively little gore, etc. Which is a pity. For example, the main character can die at many times during the story, yet the story barely delves into each; i.e. no artwork, just a plain text explanation of the death.
Game uses generic music obtained from online sources. While mostly ok, it is not unique to the game, and at time fails to fit the mood of the story, especially on the more sombre parts.
Summary: I do recommend the game, but would wait for a sale. 6/10.
SOME SPOILERS: the game grades your performance at the end of your first playthrough. For achievers out there, I do recommend (trying) finishing the game without dying first, just so you get a good grade at the end of the playthrough. Does not interfere with Steam Achievements, but if you keep dying before ending you will get a F grade at the end, which may or may not piss some off.

Decent VN. The writing is funny, but sometimes it wasn't mean't to be ;)
Good, relatively compact story of a horror visual novel. Easy 100% achievement completion. Some funny translation errors but every other dialogue is sound. It's good enough for the price but better on discount. Overall, it is good.
This is a short horror visual novel. Although the only horror aspect of this game is when the mc gets random phone calls haha *introvert moment*.
Plot: It's okay but kinda predictable. I personally liked it but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who wants to enjoy a proper descriptive visual novel. 3/5
Writing: I don't know if the translation is kinda messy (it probably is) but the writing and pacing of this is- not good, the style resembles that of a wannabe author with 0 experience. 2/5

Edit 1/30/2023: Switched my review to (sort of) recommended: the art quality has significantly increased with a sudden and unexpected, but welcome update. The added CGs are particularly good. It's clear the artist has really improved. The developer also added changing character models which makes it easier to track who is speaking, which was one of my initial criticisms.
My critique of the story still stands, however, but I appreciate the work the developer has put into improving their game, and have adjusted accordingly. It's times like these that I wish Steam had a neutral rating.

I honestly hesitate to "not recommend" BAD END, as I do so based purely on the content and not on the gameplay. The gameplay is fine. The translation is... fine. Not the worst I've ever read, but not perfect. The character art is passable, though the lack of changing character models, or even assigned colored text boxes for the characters makes it incredibly difficult to track who is speaking at times. The background art is actually quite well done. Finally, I'll note that while steam lists this game as having full controller support, and the in-game menu gives a single controller option, my controllers (xbox 360 wired and new xbox wireless) didn't work.
BAD END is just a boring, lazily written story, with boring characters who have one-dimensional motivations. I am particularly resistant to horror as a genre, so I don't typically rate "horror" content based on how scary I find it- but BAD END isn't even reminiscent of horror for me because the overarching mystery isn't compelling enough to carry the story. I respect that the developers didn't resort to filling their game with jump scares (well, except one, but that one isn't really in the game), but this VN reads like a teen drama with supernatural elements. A bad teen drama.
If you want a good mystery (not quite scary but still horror-like) VN, PLEASE skip this and read 'The Letter', or 'Raging Loop' instead. Both are available on steam and are much longer (I have over 100+ hours in The Letter, and Raging Loop takes about 40 to complete) with great stories. The Letter has jump scares, Raging Loop doesn't.

I was half expecting this game to be a shovel-ware title and was very pleasantly surprised by it.
I had a lot of fun collecting the bad ends even if a few were repetitive and the story is charmingly cheesy - I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's not a hardcore vn fan but it's a nice read if you are one.
Really interesting game and it may have been 4 hours but it was extremely good and was very worth the money i paid for it. Really good story line very good and has multiple endings. I love the twist at the end but to find out you have to play it for yourself

This wasn't too bad visual novel. I do love the concept of the VN, but the story was a bit meh. Although, near the end of the VN, the story caught me off-guard a bit and it was a pleasant surprise. Some misspelling in the writing here and there, but it wasn't too bad.
Also, getting the achievements were pretty easy since I was excited to see the bad endings more than the true ending (which I actually got on my first playthrough). Pretty easy to complete. I wasn't able to get the first bad end, so I had to play a second time to get it. Damn xD
Again, not a bad VN. Could've been better, but I still enjoyed it.

The beginning was intriguing, but the plot was a bit too straightforward, and the "true" ending wasn't particularly satisfying.
Also, the game lagged pretty often on Linux with Proton Experimental while it doesn't seem heavy and worked just fine on Windows.

I did really enjoy this game, fantastic story, there wasnt really many choices in this game, but the true ending was great.
This will be a bit of a spoiler-ish review, but most of the things I talk about happen in the first 10 minutes into the game, so, here it goes.
Our main character Kyuuhei's goal is to get to the truth of their childhood friend's death. To do so, he literally risks his life, knowingly, just to find closure about this horrific event. There are 14 endings in this game and at the very end of the true ending, Kyuuhei says this:

This right here can be considered as a character error because of the two opposite thoughts going on in this ♥♥♥♥♥'s mind, but it was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious to see him say that. [spoiler] (He said "in the end I was happy.")* [/spoiler]
I would NEVER call this visual novel a horror game either, I don't get why it's tagged that way. There were no jump scares, the "creepy sprites" were always the same too. The death screens were usually blank with no visuals (except some of them, and those were replicas of each other), and there were only a couple of background music and sound effects, which was a bummer, really. What else do you expect from a visual novel?
At least, surprisingly, the story was really fun to read, even though it having a cliche theme at its core. The storytelling was in a way addictive, and the whole ordeal was just fun. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheap on so many levels, that's why it's so fun to play it. Also the whole story was dependent on a so-called traumatic event. The build-up was solely about that and that only. I genuinely think the "plot twist" was a reach though.
To be honest with you, it's easy to brush over this one but they actually put some thought over the story. But still, I think there is a huge plot error at the climax, buuuut I don't really want to dig up the whole thing. It's a short and fun game. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheap; if you're thinking of buying a cheap, "snack-like-game" that'll only take two hours of your life, BAD END is there for you.

The game itself was pretty mediocre, but what really ruined it for me was getting an F grade at the end because I took the time to try to uncover bad endings on my first playthrough. That's about the most useless 'feature' I've ever seen.
A decent short story visual novel with a fairly linear route - I'm not sure what the store page means by "branching story". There's multiple choices where you can screw up and get a BAD END - you're safe the first time, but a second one gets you killed in a multitude of ways (which you'll have to see if you want to unlock every ending).
You'll want to play seriously the first time and come back to clean up the other endings/achievements later - you'll know why after you reach the true ending. Took me about two hours to get through, so not a bad buy if you catch it on sale.
The text is pretty decent, a little wonky in some spots but not as bad as some other VNs on Steam.
I wrote a thoughout review about this but you know what? This game is not worth it.

It's not what one might consider exceptionally scary but the story kept me in there enough to see it through. Don't expect anything say Corpse Party caliber but for a $3 B horror style mini VN it's not terrible. Steam needs a middle option between thumb up and down.
Don't waste your money on this game. It is cliche and stupid. There are lots of better games than this. Go buy a skin in a game, than this

My main gripe with the game is that I cannot for the life of me access the other save slots. I can only access the first 3 that show up on the first page of them. The 1st slot is automatically locked to save choices. I was fine with this, for the most part, but when it came to wanting to save more choices or plot points, it became a pain as I could still not access the other pages of save slots, no matter which keys I mashed.
Moreover, there were instances of the game glitching out horrendously, and the only way I could get out of it was by force shutting down or by using my touchpad shortcuts to access the Startup Menu/Taskbar on my PC. Though, if you are able to get out of it and restart the game, you can play the game no problems. I should mention it has only happened to me twice.
The writing definitely needs work. It isn't too bad that you can't understand it. The problem is more in the fact that the information can sometimes be inconsistent in differing routes and/ or the dialogue is not realistic as to how a teenager would "normally" speak (for the exception of the Class President). In that way, I would also say that because the writing is the way that it is, the characters are not as distinct as they should be, so the dialogue will kind of suffer, as a result.
Other than that, Bad End is a great game to pass the time, if you're looking for a shorter game. I wouldn't say it's perfect/the best, but it is intriguing. I genuinely think that it has potential. Once I could finally get to "playing the [i]game[/i]," things really took off for me, and I would genuinely be interested in uncovering the mystery of Bad End.
Loved the game. Plot is something that makes you think about things.
If I had to be honest, the game is pretty mediocre. the characters aren't really memorable and to be frank there was one character who was just irrelevant to the story... and the plot was a bit weak (we figured out what was happening before the climax + the main character figured things out). the music was good though because it definitely gave off some creepy vibes at times.

Narration is concise and cuts to the chase - no unnecessary text or irrelevant details. Every sentence serves to advance the story and isn't just put there as meaningless filler, unlike so many gutter-grade VNs I've come across which quickly descend into tedium & frustration as a result.

Visuals in the game, though limited, are sufficiently immersive and surprisingly effective. They are utilised in a manner similar to contemporary Japanese horror movies such as [i]The Ring[/i].
[u][b]Audio[/b][/u]
Audio is pleasant enough and fits the various settings.
[u][b]Characters[/b][/u]
Character portrayal and development turned out to be a bit shaky and not very convincing. This could be linked to the way the story itself is written. But for the most part, you won't be aware till after the ending.
[u][b]Plot[/b][/u]
The plot essentially centres around the aforementioned murder mystery, the circumstances surrounding it, and the reasons why it happened. Things unfold fast. There are surprises. And most importantly, plenty of decisions to make. With very different consequences.
[h1]What sucked[/h1]
The only drawbacks for me were the English translation, which is error-laden and very badly done, replete with wrong grammar, tenses and malapropisms (e.g. "encroached" is used instead "approached"), and an ending that wasn't as satisfying as it could otherwise have been - although I must stress that everything was adequately resolved. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that the game chooses a more forgiving consequence that I wasn't that happy with.

Overall I enjoyed [i]Bad End[/i]. It isn't often a VN manages to keep me interested, but this game did. It's even rarer for me to be surprised, and I was - kudos to the game for structuring its plot and choices in such a way that caught me off-guard in a rather eloquent fashion. [i]Bad End[/i] played out quite similar to a B-grade Japanese horror flick - you see the scares coming from a mile away, but you still squirm a little when they hit you. And lastly, there are 14 different endings which were all a pleasure to obtain. They're tied to the achievements too.
To start, I will say that I didn't expect much out of the game. It seemed like a super cheesy horror VN, so I came in with very low expectations and mostly just wanted the 100% achievements. Now I am not going to go and say that the story was super good, but it was definitely better than I expected. Sure it was cheesy at some points, but the actual plot did interest me a bit. It was interesting at the end (and getting the true end) how the story unfolded (the only way to get the true end is to not make a single mistake in the a playthrough). Now considering the price tag of the game (and the fact that it goes on 50% discount), I would honestly say to give it a try.
Overall, relatively short but sufficiently enjoyable game that has easy achievements.
