Very Ace Attorney-esque but with birds and realistic sketch art. Short, sweet, and pretty enjoyable to play through.
A short and sweet game similar to Ace Attorney of course, but in the style of 1800s France.
I do appreciate the writing in this, its quite witty and entertaining.
Certainly there are twists that are unexpected, despite finding clues you end up seeing something that was not the case toward the end.
Multiple endings and some due diligence is required to execute the proper endings, which rewards piecing together the clues.
If you like the style, I'm sure you'll find this a short and sweet game.

Aviary Attorney nous entraîne dans une série d'enquêtes en compagnie de deux avocats à la grande époque parisienne. On se retrouve avec des graphismes réussis avec des dessins tout droit sortis des livres d'histoires. Les animations sont simples mais réussies et le personnages sont des animaux. Le rendu est assez réussi et on se lance avec plaisir dans les enquêtes avec nos deux comparses.
Le jeu est plein d'humour et de jeux de mots. Il est à noter qu'il est en anglais seulement. Le principe est assez simple, un crime est commis et on est embauché afin de défendre la personne qui est accusée. On discute avec les différents protagonistes et on visite les lieux afin de trouver des preuves afin de disculper notre client.

The animations are simple yet effective, and the characters are animals. The overall presentation is quite successful, and we happily embark on the investigations with our two companions.
The game is full of humor and wordplay. It's worth noting that it's only available in English. The premise is quite simple: a crime is committed, and we are hired to defend the accused. We talk to the various protagonists and visit the scene to find evidence to exonerate our client.

Il faudra compter de 8 à 10 heures pour boucler l'aventure et un peu plus si vous souhaitez voir les différentes fins.

Once this initial phase is complete, the trial itself begins, where we must use the evidence gathered to raise reasonable doubt in the minds of the jury if we hope to secure a favorable verdict for our client. The classical music that accompanies our investigations adds an epic feel with soaring musical passages.
Ultimately, the game is well-designed and immerses us in this fictional Paris, a city searching for justice in turbulent times. The plot unfolds gradually, and our choices influence the final outcome. It will take 8 to 10 hours to complete the main story, and a little longer if you want to see the different endings.

I definitely did things in the "wrong" order, because this game convinced me to go off and place the Ace Attorney games!
It's got a delightful aesthetic and the mysteries are a lot of fun.

Overall, a game that I enjoyed, but if I could give it a "mixed" or sideways thumb review I would. I've added my full review below, with either + or - indicating the weight of positive or negative traits.

+++ Great graphics and music, very nice to look at and listen to.
+ In chapter 1 and 2, choices actually do seem to have consequences. But often the choice has no real logic or way to identify what the "correct" choice is. There's never multiple correct-ish choices, it's always right/wrong. So you're kind of just guessing and then either reloading or you lose resources if you're wrong. Chapter 3 is the only chapter with 3 branching paths, with chapter 4 being an epilogue story chapter. Overall I did feel like I had agency here, even if it was a bit limited.
+/- Here's my big beef / drama with this game. Ignore this completely if you don't care about artwork history.
I'm going to refer to both musicians and illustrators as "artists" and "artworks" for brevity. The graphics and music are actually just straight rips from public domain old artists. The game itself doesn't really credit the artists at all, except very briefly in the closing credits and the store page. They're briefly mentioned as "inspired by". I'm not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand - it's wonderful work, and suits the theme perfectly, and it is public domain after all. On the other hand - the artworks are not original. Like if you Google "J. J. Grandville" you will literally see the exact character designs online. In fact, here is the main character I found online from a museum [url=https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/813037]here[/url] - the original caption in French being "This old court apparently has an old falcon..."
It makes me wonder how much of this game is actually "made" and how much is just essentially public domain asset rips? What makes me even more suspicious is people already flipping these prints online for over $200 without credit. I feel like I would accept this more if the character profile list functioned as an art gallery. Actually display each character in full with the caption, and credit given to the original artist. Also the fact that they're reselling a 100+ year old music composition as a deluxe edition OST feels... off. It's possible that they got an orchestra or custom performance of the music but I somehow doubt it. - Missing major visual novel industry-standard QOL features. See previous text, fast text display, skip previously seen text, hide UI to appreciate the art, multiple save files, spacebar/enter to proceed, the list goes on. You can basically only click to proceed the text and select options with the mouse.
-- The actual game window / client is horrible. It's very glitchy, and feels exactly like playing a browser based flash game from the early 2000's. Like if you resize the window you can see the other menus hiding just off screen, and the character's feet which are not normally displayed from the original artwork cutouts. You have to carefully resize the window so that the UI displays properly, otherwise text will runn off screen by default. It was playable for me, but annoying.
-- Only 4 hours actual playtime to complete an "ending" - I didn't have the motivation to hunt down the other endings but I'd imagine you're looking at a total of 7-10 hours playtime.
-- It's quite expensive for what it is.
A fun game. Not terribly long, but I enjoyed it. One particular case was a bit frustrating, as it was easy to run out of time if you did anything extra at all, but the ability to reload any day helped to get it right eventually.
The art and music were great.
Aviary attorney is a fun spin on Phoenix wright with inspirations from an 1800s caricaturist artist. Indeed the art style is very striking, with all the characters appearing in a distinct style with lithographic backgrounds as well. However the humour of the game is a little too mid 2000s internet humour for my liking with most characters having little depth. Indeed I do wish the game took itself a little more seriously with more info about the actual historical events being referenced so I could get context.
Indeed there is a lack of many visual novel conveniences with no dialogue backlog or fast forwarding of dialogue you have already gone through. The main villains have little depth with a confusing desire of wanting carnivores on top despite almost all charicters even herbivores eating eating meat with even carnivores being fine with vegetables. Indeed all the charicters being animals is not utilized for more then just jokes.
While in the past this had its place for being an ace attorney experience on pc there are enough alternatives for this to be not as special as it once may have been. While it’s not bad the quick change from court room drama to tracking down rebels in the third case was too much of a departure from the previous chapters. I would have to say unless you are intrigued by the art I would not recommend.

I came in really expecting just a love-letter to ace attorney, and for things to be extremely similar, but this game turned out to have quite a bit more to say! While the art-style is a quite obvious gorgeous factor that I do think sets the game apart a lot, I think it's writing is also just surprisingly solid; It manages to hit a really serious tone that a lot of AA games failed to meet for me, while also keeping things light-hearted and funny in other moments. For how short the game is (around 10 hours or so), I think it's a great little experience!

This game is adorable and charming.
I finally picked it up again after I rage quit it five years ago because I couldn't figure out how to save a character that I had grown fond of without rolling back about a dozen days. This time I was able to finish it. As an extra plus, I figured out how to turn off that annoying beeping noise the game makes as the text scrolls across the screen.
This game is so fun and whimsical! I'm a huge fan of the humour, mystery and different endings!
Ace Attorney but you're a bird is a reasonable starting description of this game, but it is not a fair one. This game is, by and large, more artistically ambitious than anything Ace Attorney has ever done, and I say that as someone who truly loves those games.
One of the more obvious ways it does this is in the literal art, drawing, with little exception, its art assets from the works of J.J. Grandville, a French caricaturist who died almost a hundred years before the first electric computer was ever invented. This limits the sprites considerably, but leads to a unique sort of flexibility born of understanding- how much can you do, when your artwork was created by a dead man who never dreamed of the concept of a video game? You make allowances. You coax out a cohesive vision through an artists various works, grab hold of the connective tissue that existed in the context of their original creation and rebirth them anew. The music as well- compositions of works by Camille Saint-Saëns, were ordained before a single keystroke of coding was made for this game, before its developers were ever born.
None of that is to discredit the artistry put into taking such things to make them into this, nor the skill displayed in the writing and design of the game itself. The game sets itself in the days before the February Revolution, and does not shy away from the fallibility of the justice system- addressing systemic injustices in ways its inspiration does not by drawing on a real political moment, and placing you, somewhat, on the side of the oppressor. You are not a bad man, or bird, you fight with integrity for fairness and justice. But you fight within the confines of a system that has torn people to shreds, starved them and spit on their corpses. The gears of procedure are non inoculations against petty injustice, they are often perpetrators of it. It is not a world ruled by a strict sense of absurdist rationality, like Ace Attorney, here there is a jury, and their feelings are the final decider on matters, regardless of what facts you ultimately present. The game adapts to this as well, as I understand it, though I did not lose a case.
I do wish it was a bit longer, and while there are other endings to explore, I feel I performed the way I hoped to, and am uncertain about returning to see what would happen were I worse at my job. I might rate it a bit pricey at full cost, but it is a good game, and a worthwhile play.

This game is hilarious! If you like the Ace Attorney saga and investigating/puzzle games, this is for you. I can't recommend it enough. 10/10!
Imagine if Ace Attorney took place in 1831 France, and also everyone looked like a Beatrix Potter character. Aviary Attorney differentiates itself from Ace Attorney by having a time and money system and allows you to fail and get your clients declared guilty without bringing a game over. The story shifts to accommodate it too, which really shows an attention to detail. This is clearly a labor of love.

Played this because it has funny birds and you get to solve mysteries. I fell in love with Sparrowson (he is adorkable) and the artstyle is so good. This game has a great storyline, well written characters, the mechanics are intuitive and easy. I enjoyed this way more than expected, it kept me interested and sometimes made me laugh :)

Some answers are handed to you even if you screw up, not really a bad thing but does feel a bit unearned but makes sense if you only play the game once or so.
I bought this game thinking it was "Phoenix Wright with birds".
It starts like this, it does. But soon, very soon, you see that it is [i]much more[/i] than this. I won't spoil it for you, just play this !

get this game if you liked Ace Attorney! It has the same format of Investigation ➜ Trial, and the trial proceedings are very similar (testimony ➜ cross exam). One major difference between this game and Ace Attorney is that you actually need to be strategic with your investigation because you can miss windows to collect necessary evidence to win trials (unlike Ace where it is impossible to "fail" an investigation). Lots of amusing dialogue, great soundtrack, and unique art!
[b] I am in love with this game. [/b] I played this game as a short break after work and the quips are funny and simple enough for me to not need to think too hard. The premise is simple and the game points you in an easy-to-follow direction which leads to a satisfying ending.
10/10 would play this game again, def worth getting it

Acquistato ed iniziato perché lo consideravo una parodia, mi sono ritrovato in una storia intrigante e veramente ben scritta. Tutti i personaggi funzionano bene e ci si affeziona facilmente.
A livello tecnico il gioco è piuttosto rudimentale, però non ha intaccato in alcun modo l'esperienza.
Con l'aiuto di artisti in grado di replicare lo stile delle caricature di Grandville, vorrei assolutamente giocare ancora di più di questo mondo e di questa gran scrittura.

A bit short, but a great little game. Funny, witty writing. Interesting characters. Inspired setting, art style, and music.
Very nearly a perfect game but has a few game breaking bugs. You might encounter being soft locked when you try to load progress in-between chapters, so it's advised that you play it through in one continuous sitting or else you may be forced to replay a day or two inside the game. So far the developer has not addressed these bugs. Also missing Steam achievements.

A really fun and fleshed out short Ace Attorney-style game with fun puzzles, an inspired setting and hilarious writing. It was a short experience but I was engaged the whole way through. Recommended to anyone who is looking for a short yet fleshed out experience. 7/10
Funny and engaging, should be very familiar to Ace Attorney fans but with its own style and charm. The saving system is a tad annoying but it is clearly explained at the start.

This game has beautiful artwork, really nice soundtrack, and the storyline is quite compelling! I see the Ace Attorney comparisons, but I think this game is morally richer than Ace Attorney. Unlike in Ace Attorney where the game kind of tells you straight away if the person you're defending is good or bad and who the real murderer is instead, in this game, you genuinely can't really tell if you're doing the right thing in your first playthrough. You could get people killed by accident or even fail a trial on purpose, and the game just keeps going!
There are several problems though. The save and quit only saves at the beginning of a day, so it's not that helpful. Also, I tried to play this on a handheld at first, and from what I can tell, there is no controller support. I wasted a lot of time collecting a lot of unused items and evidence, thinking they'll return to be used in the next chapter, but that didn't end up happening.

Absolutely 100% peak, 1000/10, literally the only complaint about this game is that there isn't any more of it now that I'm finished. I genuinely enjoyed playing this more than the actual Ace Attorney games themselves, and it's absolutely bewildering how this has gone largely unnoticed for a decade now. 15 bucks is an absolute steal, and I almost feel bad that I was able to pick it up on sale for less than that because of how good it was.
A very good casual game. If you like Phoenix Wright games, you'll like that game :)
while it was a short game that i finished in about 6- 7 hours (including all possible endings), it was packed with a great storyline and well written characters. i'm so glad i played it :) love the reference to ace attorney too!
Good game BUT save feature does not save where you left off, you have to click through a lot because the saves are at the start of a "day". Also: cannot save AND keep playing. Hell of an oversight and frankly unforgiveable.
Another great example that you don't need fancy graphics to have a perfect time-sink! The writing is both witty and phenomenal - good show!
NOTE: depending o your actions in the catacombs, the game diverges into 3 endings. One of them is.... VERY unexpected. Don't be afraid to invest a bit of the time to see them all - it's worth it!
I have never played Phoenix Wright, but I STILL loved this game. There's a lot of great dialogue and it deftly switches from humorous to dramatic.
Amazing writing. Loved the characters and the mysteries. I wish there was more, and I'm excited for more from this team.

I had to stop because I couldn't get over the artist's lack of willingness to even try to draw stylized bird/animal hands. Everyone either has their hands hidden or they have sort of.. sketchy/ghostly human hands. It's one of those "you can't un-see it" type of situations which is sad for me because the writing is decent and it was really one of the first competent Ace Attorney style games for the PC.
If you can get over the hands thing, I'd definitely give this a shot.
It's set in post-revolution France and you're a bird attorney navigating the complex world of a nation newly liberated and the interactions of the various ideologies and personalities at that time.. in animal form. But apparently there ARE people in this world, somewhere.. Just check out that portrait of Napoleon on the one franc coin!
Anyway, it's only cheap, at least just give it a shot if you're an Ace Attorney fan.

Overview:
Aviary Attorney is a beautifully built tribute to the phoenix Wright series while able of standing on it’s own. In this game you are given the full cross examination instead of just section and must ask questions dependent on the outlined choices to find the contradictions. This works just as well as the phoenix wright series and the whole thing is accompanied with a rather compelling story within the french revolution. The game however is held back by the fact that all the trials are far too short and easy with most trials ending with just two cross examinations. This further not helped by really only 4 cases (although the last case is split between 3 endings) and the difficulty dependent on you finding all the evidence before hand.

As an avid Ace Attorney player, I wanted to like it, especially as a European game. But I'm afraid I just couldn't.
IMO it's a bad game, bad writing, bad dialogues, short, not that funny, a bad French Ace Attorney Animal Clone.
Ace Attorney also has many flaws, but at least you get 100+ hours of playtime from the compilations.
This would be worth a shot even if it were just an Ace Attorney fan-game with animals. It has a lot of heart and humour, and though short, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The time management (how you choose to spend each day) was a really interesting mechanic that results in different outcomes and gives your choices some more weight.
I would love to see more with these characters or in this style in future.

A charming little game with charming graphics. The plot was a lot more involved than I expected, and the multiple endings were a treat.

劇本有驚喜(特別是第一幕)，雖然推理簡單，但是這遊戲主菜其實是看動物角色們互相吐槽www (不過英文有點難)
選項分支對話變化很充足，辯護失敗也不會game over，而是會進入不同分支/結局這點很難得!
製作團隊當年似乎沒什麼經驗，結果遊戲很多bug(例如中途儲存功能不能用)又沒有很多視覺小說基本功能(快進/回看對話/多存檔)。switch版似乎有點改進，而且也有中文翻譯，不過價錢也是翻倍...
總之推薦打折入手~

I played this 7 years ago and remember it as amazingly written.
The game has so many bugs on pc, i cannot reccomend buying it here. get it on switch if it interests you
挺有意思的逆转like小游戏,其最大的特定是由飞鸟走兽组成的动物角色, 我想这来自于欧洲政治讽刺画经常用动物拟人的传统, 而时代背景选择了革命前夕的巴黎也印证了这个观点
至于推理质量和流程感官,只能说没有达到或者接近逆转的高度,好在节奏快流程短,美术人设有趣, 价格便宜(但汉化得玩ns版))所以打发时间也未尝不可
If you're familiar with the "choose your own adventure" or "fighting fantasy" gamebook jargon, this is a true path gamebook. You navigate the crossroads and ramifications of the story looking for the one chain of choices that leads you to beating the game. It was very popular in the eighties, when Fighting Fantasy and other similar titles were most popular. This game also features multiple endings, adding to the overall complexity and richness of the story.
I loved this game. The characters are memorable and adorable, the puns are... something to tear your feathers off, really, sometimes, so outrageous they're actually funny, and the added layer about the end of the kingdom of Louis Philippe and the establishment of the second republic will make anyone interested in history like me want to dust off my notion of that time of France's history. Definitely recommended

Detective birdmen solve cases in an alternate-universe 1800’s France. Excellent writing and characters, along with a rock-solid presentation, make this an enjoyable 5-hour sleuthing adventure.

I thought this game was a lark. Obviously the aesthetics are striking but its the writing that lowkey shines; Full of puns and actually a surprisingly in-depth story where the outcomes of your cases hold some consequence over how the story progresses.

Esse jogo obviamente lembra Ace Attorney, tanto na jogabilidade e tema, quanto no humor, aqui um pouco mais focado em assuntos aviários, eu realmente achei o humor bom, mas não recomendaria um jogo de 4 ou 5 horas com esse gameplay só pelo humor, no fundo é só isso que se destaca nesse jogo.
A parte mais chata - E ISSO JÁ SERVE DE AVISO - o botão de "salvar e sair" nem sempre funciona, o ultimo ato do meu jogo foi reiniciado porque tive que sair, não tenho mais paciência pra ver as exatas cenas com os exatos testo novamente, então eu sinceramente abandonei a experiencia 90% completa, achei que ia ter paciência pra voltar um dia, mas agora nem lembro de nada e COM CERTEZA não vou recomeçar o jogo (pra falar a verdade acho que nem tenho mais o save), claro que isso é uma questão mais minha, mas se você não é fanzasso desse gênero e não planejo jogar de novo ou terminar o jogo em uma tarde só, tome cuidado.

If this could be a neutral review, it would be, but weighing the yes or no, I decide to recommend it, but with reservations.
This game is obviously reminiscent of Ace Attorney, both in gameplay and theme, as well as in humor, here a little more focused on avian matters. I really thought the humor was good, but I wouldn't recommend a 4 or 5 hour game with this gameplay just for the humor; ultimately, that's all that stands out in this game. The most annoying part - AND THIS IS ALREADY A WARNING - the "save and exit" button doesn't always work, the last act of my game was restarted because I had to exit, I no longer have the patience to see the exact scenes with the exact test again, so I honestly abandoned the 90% complete experience, I thought I would have the patience to come back one day, but now I don't even remember anything and I'M CERTAINLY not going to restart the game (to tell the truth I don't think I even have the save anymore), of course this is more of a personal issue, but if you're not a huge fan of this genre and I don't plan on playing it again or finishing the game in one afternoon, be careful.

Baby's first court room game but the writing and atmosphere are quite charming and frankly topical. lol 2nd ending was such a funbit of drama to witness, the game was worth it for that alone. :)
Bird Attorney. At first it might look like other Ace Attorney-like game, but it's actually quite different past first chapter. And unlike Ace Attorney you can certainly miss certain encounters / items which will affect your ending, something to be mindful of.

Very short but well worth it's time. It's aesthetic remains as charming as when you boot up the game and includes some pretty good writing.
Nice and short Ace Attorney-like game. The main characters are likable. The story is compelling. It gets you thinking about justice and what it truly is. The devs have not fixed the Save & Quit button so its better to just try to play whenever you're ready to finish a whole Act just to be safe. Each Act is about an hour or less long and there are 4.
The wolves in this game are the epitome of the mustache-twiling villain trope. They literally look evil lmao.
I have enjoyed this game so much, and it has some really nice replay-ability and challenging choices. The art and the way it is used is wonderfully unique and the characters are brilliantly memorable. I loved this game so much I ended up buying a physical copy for my Switch as well.
类似逆转裁判的玩法，背景是二月革命前后的法国，用一群小动物模拟法国人民（很萌，尤其是猎鹰和麻雀、公鸡的互动），铅笔画风也很可爱。案子复杂程度比较适中，有一些反转比较精彩[spoiler]第一个案子为委托人辩护成功后会知道她就是真凶（这个设计很少见）；第二个案子在调查过程中会发现狐狸是假扮的王子[/spoiler]，第三个案子完全就是政治隐喻，再现了法国二月革命，不同的选项会通向不同结局，但是无论哪个结局麻雀和鹰都是很好的朋友（好磕）！
美中不足就是没有汉化，一些词语不太好理解，还混杂了一些法语（应该是），每次调查地名人名都记不住，感觉不太可能有中文了（做实况的也没有，太冷门了）

逆転裁判シリーズリスペクトの、革命前に揺れるフランス国内を舞台に、鳥頭が依頼人の無実を証明すべく奔走するお話です。
言語は英語のみ。日本語化MODもありません。会話内容はそこまで難しくないため、人名（動物名？）など固有名詞がフランス流なので、その辺は少し大変かもしれませんが、今はGoogle翻訳等、翻訳ツールがたくさんあるので楽しめると思います。
どうしても日本語で遊びたいという方は、Switch版という手があります。ただ、価格が通常価格だとSteam版の倍以上してしまうのが大きな欠点。ちなみに、Switch版でせっかく日本語化されたのに、Steam版での日本語対応予定はないとのこと。そんなご無体な、という気もしますが、もう発売から10年弱経過しているので、手を付けるにつけられない事情があるのかもしれません。

Very charming! The art and the music are wonderful, and the story is pleasant. The gameplay isn't overly taxing, though it is fun to ponder through all the story implications. I like a game that lets you fail, and this game has several options for when trials don't quite go your way.
It's like a satire on a satire (Ace Attorney) and while it's pretty short I loved every bit of it. The investigations were by far the most fun and interesting parts of the game and drive a really interesting story, and the freedom of choice makes it feel like I'm actually figuring things out instead of being handheld by the game (though it might be frustrating to some). Admittedly trials are very short and consequently "obvious" (iykyk) but gathering the correct evidence is the real challenge. Also I love the cast :)

剧情非常好，从第一幕就能明显感觉出和一般探案剧情的区别，因为主角只是律师，并不是侦探，需要的不是真相，而是如何辩护自己的委托人。但从第二幕就能看出这并不是主角想要去做的，在辩护的基础上还是希望正义可以伸张，希望犯人可以被绳之以法。
探案内容并不硬核，但好在故事写得很好，剧情有始有终

the chick plottens or something. I have no clue how much game I have left, but what started as a pun-filled, birdie courtroom comedy, has turned out into some serious thriller. and I'm all for it.

EDIT: okay, so, little heads up. if you liked ace attorney and like birds, you'll like this. if you haven't played ace attorney, and have any remote intention of playing it, do yourself a favor and play it (at least the very first game) before this one. you'll thank me.
