Armed with Wings was one of my favourite flash games back in the days, and this is all I ever wanted from it. Beautiful art with nice powerful feeling combat.
As a child i loved armed with wings games as the second being my favorite cuz you played with Vandheer Lorde so i bougth this game when i saw it. Getting the full achivmets was also really fun for the most of it so if you decide to do it yourself good luck and i'll let you know Hard achivmet is bugged the only way for you to take it is to make a full run on beta version and for the achivment i guess they wont fix is so if you like me do it normaly first and then on beta for it, the rest of the achivment you can do with time and practice so have fun. Вот мы и добрались то самого крупного проекта Даниэля, он постарался и таки выпустил от ремейк, либо же переосмысление первой части серии, собрав все знания, опыт и навыки, что накопились за многие годы. Игра вышла за пределы Flash и выпустилась как полноценная в Steam, в 2017 году.
Сюжет Rearmed практически идентичен сюжету первой игры. Когда король-тиран Вандир Лорд подавляет восстание и убивает Одинокого Воина, предводителя повстанцев, Блэкмист воскрешает Одинокого Воина, делая его могущественным воином, носящим титул "Вооруженный Крыльями". Одинокий Воин пробирается сквозь всю империю, пока наконец не достигает замка короля, где сражается с Вандиром Лордом и побеждает его. К сожалению, побеждённый Вандир сбегает. В игре добавили больше сцен и мелких деталей, раскывающие те или иные стороны истории.
Окружающая среда стала гораздо более проработанной и детализированной, а персонажи — более качественными. Большинство предметов больше не представляют собой простые силуэты, а детализированы серым цветом. Катсцен стало больше чем в прошлых частях и их качество и рисовка заметно выросли.
Механика игры
После каждого прохождения игры набранные игроком очки идут в зачёт открытия нового оружия и способностей. Эти способности включают в себя такие, как ускорение зарядки мощного удара, более высокую скорость передвижения, атаки снарядами и другие. У оружия есть разные характеристики: атака, защита, дальность и скорость, названия которых говорят сами за себя. У каждого оружия есть свои встроенные способности, некоторые из которых позволяют выбирать, какие способности использовать.
Игрок получает возможность уклоняться, что позволяет ему избегать урона и потенциально обходить некоторых врагов, не убивая их. Хотя обычные прыжки по умолчанию недоступны, цепочка из нескольких уклонений позволяет прыгнуть вперёд. Также есть усилитель прыжка, который можно выбрать для некоторых мечей, что позволяет использовать более традиционную механику прыжка. Это повлияло на дизайн некоторых головоломок и уровней-платформеров.

Также существует онлайн режим с битвами 1на1 но я его не щупал, по причине того что игра одиночная инди и популярностью не блещет.
Количество боссов изменилось, теперь, помимо реворкнутого "Минотавра" и Вандир Лорда в конце, вас ждёт ещё один дополнительный босс.
На мой взгляд получился хороший инди платформер, который завоевал сердца фанатов серии Flash игр, я получил удовольствие от игры и был рад рассказать вам про неё и этого разработчика.
Я выбил все ачивки и собрал всё, что было в игре!

P.S. It's been roughly a decade since i've played every Armed With Wings entry—1, 2, 3 And, Culmination—but Re-Armed stands above them all. Its refined mechanics and flawless flow make it the definitive experience; pretty nostalgic if anything.

Rearmed nos situa en los eventos del primer juego de la saga, para quienes no lo saben este juego hace parte de una franquicia de juegos flash (incluso este juego también es flash si ven los archivos locales) de aventura hack and slash con elementos de resolución de acertijos (puzzles) con un mundo mas amplio y con muchos secretos aún sin explicar.
En terminos generales, si nunca has jugado un juego de la franquicia es un juego completo para lo que presenta, con personajes simples pero una narrativa clara y centrada en la lucha del bien contra el mal, el despotismo, la pureza, la muerte y la destrucción del contrario, el combate y los distintos modos que tiene le permiten extenderse por muchas horas, jugar con amigos en local y por si fuera poco, conocer mas de la historia y el mundo de la "Blackmist" a traves de las entregas en flash, extendiendo la experiencia fuera de steam, personalmente lo recomiendo si te gustan los apartados que mencione, yo lo hice principalmente porque ya conocia la saga previamente y era el unico juego que me faltaba por jugar.

神作 来为童年补票了
故事模式2小时内一局，流程不长，主要是靠重复游玩来攒经验解锁武器招式和多周目解锁人物，故事还是很简单的，就是反叛军首领受神灵帮助杀到卑鄙统治者老家给他扬喽，剪影风的画面，就很酷，剧情CG的部分更是帅炸了；最开始操作不是很熟练，以及杀死敌人后相当少的回血机制和过关不回满血让我一度以为是个一定要一命通关的高难度游戏，直到我看见它能continue，哎呀这个吓人；手感方面，不知道是不是对应着剧情走的，感觉越走到后面人物走的越快动作也越轻盈（啊也有可能是我逐渐熟练操作导致的），到最后的boss战那真的是酣畅淋漓啊，战斗！！爽！！！（不过第一次通关后解锁了统治者角色，虽然能发波吧但是手感真的不如反叛者），操作方面其实教程并没有教学全部，除了A攻击、D＋方向键闪避、D格挡（还是在很后面才告诉的）之外，S可以冲刺一段距离（统治者是发波）S＋上可以升龙，S＋下可以下批一小道闪电这个战斗的时候其实也能用，更别提闪避三段一个起跳后还能接冲刺，可以组合的招式还挺多的，真的玩的好的话确实可以打出很炫酷的招式（不过我自己打的时候就比较狼狈了），需要自己探索的部分很多，还有地图也是，除了收集品以外，有些地图是不止一个过关点的，找到其他的过关点可以额外加分，用来解锁武器和招式，武器在刚开始游戏的时候也可以自定义，可以添加已解锁的招式（话说为什么要把跳跃功能放在武器招式里啊喂）；关卡设计方面最开始我以为是个单纯的战斗游戏，结果后面的解谜要素逐渐丰富，还有平台跳跃元素以及收集元素，很是丰富，中间部分的那段音乐真的是给我听爽了！太酷了！不过游戏里可能会有一些bug，不影响通关，我就说一点我遇到的，像是三连弹簧跳上雪山失误后不着地而是直接掉入虚空人也不死就这么卡住了，还有坐电梯下来因为在电梯里动的太早导致直接穿墙然后又掉入虚空，最后一关开启大天使形态（大天使形态我都差点被boss连招连死但主要还是bug原因）之后突然全屏模式变小屏，甚至真正的画面只占小屏的四分之一剩下的是黑屏，虽然不影响游戏吧但是遇上bug的体验真的不是很好，不过看在你还挺好玩的而且美术风格超酷的情况下就原谅你了，噢对了还有，小鸟可爱捏（虚空摸摸）

バッドにするほどでもないけれど、いくつもあるゲームの中でしっかり最後まで遊んでみようかと思うかどうかと聞かれるとNOに近いです。
気になる点としては、Storyの道中の即死の針地獄やノコギリで水増しされた、戦闘とは無縁のステージ構成があり、面白味が無い場面が散見する所。
鳥を飛ばしてトゲの先の仕掛けを解くなどする時は、鳥が被ダメで操作が戻ってくるのでうっかり動いて落ちると言う場面もあったり、無駄に完成のある動きのせいで落ちて死ぬなど、ちょっと納得いかない場面もチラホラあります。
横からぶつかるだけで即死の仕掛けは正直かなりウンザリしました。
それと、たいまつ的なものに触ると強制的にキャンプのような状態になる事があり、鳥ボタンを押しっぱなしにしたりしないと出られなくなる事があり、かなりストレスになる事があるのも残念な点です。
敵のバリエーションはそこまで無いのもイマイチな理由なのですが、とくに肝心の戦闘もヒットエフェクトやSEが弱いので攻撃してる手応えが非常に薄い関係で、コチラがミスしていると言うリアクションを感じにくく、やられているのかどうかが非常に分かり辛い事もあって、何が間違っているのかが感じ取りにくいです。
これによりカウンターのタイミングなども分かり辛くなっており、全体的になにかペラッとしている手応えとなってしまっています。
それと、武器の攻撃残像が出した後の軌跡のようなものだけで、いまいち視覚的に分からないのも難点でした。
武器の種類が豊富にあるように見えますが、ほぼ搭載されたスキルが違うだけ、と言うのもちょっと残念な印象です。

作り直す前の元々はフラッシュ作品だし、今でも探せば無料配布されてるだろうから
わざわざお金を払ってSteam版を買わなくても、ゲーム自体は遊べると思う
ただリマスターにあたってゲームがグレードアップしてるだろうし
そもそもお布施も兼ねて買ったとしても、充分リターンのあるクオリティの作品
結論から言えば定価約1000円なら充分安くて、おすすめできるゲームです

アクション要素…ではなく[b]サウンドがマジでヤバい（語彙力喪失）[/b]
本作に限らず調べてみたら、同開発元の過去のフラッシュシリーズの作品はどれもBGM・SEが物凄い良いと評判が高く
実際に聞いてみたけど、どれもこれもめちゃくちゃチルいんだわ
正直、マジでサウンドだけでこのゲームの元は取れてる
このゲームにも後述する、悪い部分はいくつかあるにはあるんだけど
そんな悪い部分すら、サウンドのクオリティが高すぎて帳消しになるぐらいレベルが高い
正直メインメニューとかステージ待機中のBGM放置したまま
別の作業やってても問題ない位に、作業用BGMに出来るレベルで心地良い
+ ゲームシステムと全体的な難易度
[b]手段を選んで縛りプレイをしなければめちゃくちゃ簡単[/b]
操作性もかなり良くて、通常攻撃・特殊攻撃の二つのボタンを
適当にコントローラーを使ってガチャガチャしてるだけでも
割となんかそれっぽく戦えるぐらいにカジュアル
（ジャンプ移動だけかなり癖がある位なもんだけど、デスペナルティが軽いからあんまり問題でも無い）
使用する武器に関しても、遊べば遊んだだけ強い武器がアンロックされて楽になっていくので
死にまくってもスコアポイントさえ溜まってれば、どんどん装備を固めていける
吹き飛ばし/弾き飛ばしと、打ち上げ攻撃がかなり強いので
その辺りの攻撃が出来る装備が揃うだけで、画面端でハメたり即死エリアに押し出して戦えるため、だいぶ安定感が出て来る
操作キャラに関しても初期選択されている主人公以外のキャラが強すぎる
特に4人目のスマブラのマスターハンドみたいな選択キャラが
好き勝手空中も動きまくれるし、指ではじきまくるだけでボスもある程度ハメれてチートすぎるので
主人公で敵にやられまくってストレス溜まっても、他キャラ使えば俺TUEE出来るのは良い感じの救済措置だとは思う
反面、この辺りの救済措置をすべて縛って遊ぶとかなりマゾかった
プレイヤーの匙加減で、ゲーム側の難易度がガラッと変わるのは
良いアクションゲームのお手本要素って感じで、個人的にはかなり好印象
+ 隠しコマンドあり
死んだのにリスタートしないバグが発生して、メニューも開けないバグ状態だったから
キーボード側で適当にボタン押してやり直せないか試した時に気づいたんだけど…
[spoiler]どうやらBeta版で,と.のボタンを押すと、最高難易度でもステージスキップして任意のマップが選べる模様
これが開発者のデバッグ用ボタンの修正ミスなのか、わざと残してるのかは謎
因みにちゃんと実績解除にも貢献するので、だいぶズルい裏技です
一応メニュー画面からステージセレクトは出来るし、先述の救済措置を考慮に入れると誤差みたいな裏技ではあるけど[/spoiler]
- 旧時代の名残りであろう低フレームレート
元がフラッシュゲームのデータをぶっこ抜いて無理やり移植したせいなのか
Steamにて2017年リリースの移植作品にもかかわらず（一応早期アクセス含めるとだいぶ前から発売はしてたみたいだが）
FPS上限が40で打ち止めになってるので、眼が良いというかヌルヌル動くゲームに動体視力が慣れてると気持ち悪いと思う
特に自分の環境だとフルスクリーン時に同期ずれが起きるのか
40FPSどころかそれを下回ってカクカク紙芝居状態になり、酔って気持ち悪くなってまともに遊べなかった
なんとか一応、ウィンドウモードに切り替える事でカクつきはなくなって酔わなくなったが
後述の不具合もあるし、折角のリマスターならFPS上限そのものを上げて欲しかった所…
- ウィンドウモードが細かく調整不可能
先述の通りフルスクだと異常が出るのでウィンドウモードで遊ばざるを得ないのだが
ゲームの仕様でウィンドウモードにしても、枠無しで大きさはモニターの1/2～1/4程度の2種類の大きさまでしか指定できない
一応画面中央に自動的にフォーカスしてくれてはいるのだが
ウィンドウを拡大できないせいで、プレイ中は余白のバックグラウンドが最初は超気になって仕方が無かった…
コンフィグデータを弄ったり外部ツール使えば、無理やり解像度とか設定しなおせるかもだけど
何にせよオプション画面からは弄れないのがかなり不便
- Betaパッチを当てないと実績が解除されない不具合等
やり込み実績のPeerless Warriorを狙う際は、現行Versionではアンロックされないらしいので
プロパティのベータから" beta - beta "を選ぶ必要がある様子
"らしい"というのも、その情報を仕入れてからBetaにしてクリアしてしまったせいで
現状でも本当に修正されてないのかどうか、結局よくわからんままになってるんす…
どちらにせよBetaパッチ当てて遊ぶ分には、問題なく遊べるようになってたんで
やり込みプレイを狙うなら、一度位はBetaパッチを当てるのが安心だろう
ただこのBetaパッチ自体にも問題があって、Betaのまま遊んでると
操作キャラがめちゃくちゃ硬くなって、実質無敵状態になる
本来は攻撃を食らえば食らっただけ、HPが減ったりアーマーが削れるのだが
削れた先から秒で回復するせいで（一瞬ゲージが減ってる描画は出ている）めちゃくちゃヌルくなってる
ただでさえ通常Versionでも救済措置まみれでヌルいのに、Beta当てたら無敵になるのは無双が過ぎる
でもそもそも救済措置のキャラでゴリ押し出来る以上、Betaで更にヌルくなったところで誤差みたいなもんだから問題無いか…？
まあ気になるなら通常Versionで納得いくまで遊んでから、Betaに移行する事をおすすめします
最後にちょっとした余談
以上の事だけ見ると共通点なさそうだけど
個人的には遊んだ感じ、[url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/65300/]Dustforce[/url]をだいぶカジュアルにしたような爽快感を感じられたから
あのゲームは好きだけど、難しすぎて断念した人とかには良い感じに代替作品となりえる…かも？

Armed with Wings shows its roots as a flash game. That is to say, it is not a bad game at all. The minimalist art style is appealing and the fighting system is surprisingly involved for such a simple game. I liked the puzzle solving aspect of it, as well as the secret finding and the multiple routes to finish most levels. The problem is that the game is just not that fun to play. You simply fight your way through a series of short maps that are not connected in any meaningful way with no real reward for your troubles.
It is a hard game too, which means you will die a lot, but instead of just respawning the player quickly at the start of the level, it forces an annoying main menu loop jump instead, which only wastes time. Unlocking new weapons is tedious and annoying as well and picking up random drops from enemies does not actually unlock them for later use. If you find a really good weapon and swap out to a different one, your weapon is gone and you either have to find it again or unlock it through a long arduous grind.
Armed with Wings is a game for those patient few looking to master complicated sword combos, who do not get frustrated being stuck at the same boss for days, and are just looking to perfect their skill, hunt for collectibles, and grind out weapon unlocks with no real story reward. I would not recommend the game to anyone else.

This is it. Not cuphead, not dark souls. This is it. The entire game is ragebait. Take your time, choose the sturn blade with jump and use D to quick-skip left and right to survive. This entity of a game exists to test your mental and physical endurance as a human being. Culmination is 10/10, Rearmed is like 8/10.

I remember playing this on Armor Games back when it used Twilight Princess soundtrack and it was really fun, Still fun, I just don't remember it being this janky. Controls are a nightmare though; no way of changing the keybinds is a real problem, especially by modern day standards.

Olha, não dava nada por esse jogo quando encontrei quase aleatoriamente por aí. Já joguei ele muito, pois piratiei à muito tempo atrás, nesse tempo, eu tinha basicamente platinado o jogo. Porém, piratiava por "necessidade" (sabe como é), mas, agora que tenho meu próprio dinheiro, fiz questão de comprá-lo e estou à caminho de platiná-lo novamente. Jogo muito bom, apesar de simples, recomendo enormemente.

What you see is what you get with this one: the black/white style establishes incredibly bold and stylish presentation with strong silhouettes and slick animation, representative of its Flash roots all with the manner of those unreasonably well-choreographed stick figure animations you see back in the day.

I really wanted to keep giving this game a chances because of how captivating the art style is, but it's not enough to carry the game. Clunky and weird button mapping. I don't know if it's because I'm dumb or what, but I kept pressing the wrong buttons all the damn time.

Yeah the first game kinda sucked but the last boss fight was alright
The majority of nostalgic feelings are brought on by various senses, such as smell, sight, or sound.. But for me, this game hits differently, especially seeing two powerful figures that trigger my sane sentimentality on how enjoyable and straightforward was days before. For the King! Rise to Godhood Vandheer Lorde!
Flash games have a special place in my heart.
I played a katana only run on the hard difficulty which exposed me to strange balance issues and bugs
I'll start with the things I enjoyed,
-Positive Points:
-Having no jump key allows for the game to have a unique and satisfying combo system (the best in the series in my opinion) as well as unique platforming (it's also nice to see that you can still extend jumps by attacking)
-Being able to swap color schemes for the entire game (except the menu) is a very nice addition and some options are bound to ignite a bit of nostalgia for older titles
-Later levels encouraged me to use the environment to my advantage to dispatch enemies rather than just trying to brute force my way through a level
-Levels having multiple hidden routes and relics gives the player a good reason to replay the game
-Music fits the environment of the game and sounds great
-Background environment constantly changes with each level
-Neutral points:
-Overall good boss designs that suffer from inconsistent combat design (See my 4-hit combo complaints below)
-Controls are both too floaty (the physics) and too stiff (the animations), it feels good while juggling an opponent but feels horrible while running or reacting to projectiles / changing direction
-You're not stronger than the enemies, it only takes about two mistakes for even the basic enemies to kill you but the same goes for them. It's a game design I actually like until you have to fight hordes of enemies
-The art style has changed, everything looks sharper in quality and generally has more detail while remaining generally monochromatic (I personally enjoy Vandheer Lorde's redesign). However, the striking silhouettes found in the enemy designs from older titles has been replaced with more rounder and human-like designs (it's difficult for me to properly describe but just compare both basic enemies from AWW1 and Rearmed and you'll see what I mean)
-Every sound in the game is compressed to the same level as older flash games except for the music
-Negative points:
-Blocking and parrying are both literally useless: Blocking has startup frames for some reason and parrying only gives you super armor instead of I-frames. This creates situations where parrying in boss fights or while being attacked by multiple enemies WILL get you killed, it's better to just animation cancel the parry into a dodge. Blocking has about 3 startup frames for some reason so in certain combat situations (I.E. Hordes or Vandheer Lorde's combos) it's better to mash out of your hitstun with heavy attacks instead of trying to block when dodging is not possible.
-The best combo in the game is the default 4-hit mash light attack: The 4-hit is easy to infinite with and the only gap is between the 4th hit into the 1st hit that only bosses and the "Elite" enemy type can break out of, even then all you have to do is dodge attack into the 4-hit again. I'm pretty sure this is not intended since a lot of the combat seems to balanced extending a juggle as much as possible.
-Fighting bosses is extremely simple because of this:
Step 1: 4-hit --> dodge attack --> repeat until super armor
Step 2: hit until boss is facing you --> dodge to other side --> repeat
Bugs / Glitches:
-Inconsistent hit boxes: I would constantly find myself missing my attacks even though the white line from the katana is very visibly through my opponent, I can only imagine that the hitbox is simply smaller than what is shown or that something fps related is making the hitbox not register. This would happen most often during air combos and the dodge attack.
-On that same note, the side spikes do not harm enemies and have a larger hitbox than the walls around them, resulting in both inconsistent enemy mechanics and unfair deaths
-Vandheer Lorde dying but not initiating the end cutscene: I have no idea what's causing this or how to fix it but it's safe to say it made my katana only run very disappointing.
Overall experience was around 5.5/10
I'd recommend you play Armed With Wings 3 or AWW: Culmination before even buying rearmed. Even if you do enjoy the other titles in the series I'd still only recommend this game on a discount since it feels no different from Daniel's free flash games. However, if you're like me and want to support Daniel's future projects (Ashbelt looks promising!) / absolutely love the Armed With Wings series then buying the game at full price isn't such a bad deal.

It's a fun action platformer remake of a classic flash game.

Another fantastic entry to the "Armed With Wings" franchise. As someone who played most of the previous games, this game was like being shot back in time. Playing as the Lone Warrior, slicing your way through opposition, making your way to the big boss was fun. What's even more fun is what happens after you defeat Vandheer Lorde. You unlock him and he is so OP. Because energy from previous games was ditched (thankfully) and just replaced with cooldowns, you can use attacks as part of your combo to allow for more freedom when facing enemies. Just a couple of complaints that keep this game from being perfect.
1. The biggest flaw of this game, by far, is locking the basic ability to jump behind certain weapons. I don't understand this AT ALL. It's understandable for some of the better weapons in the game to lose access to some of the better abilities, so you're not just unbeatable, but jumping was a basic feature in at least two of the other games, so why change it now?
2. The second most annoying thing is the eagle nerf. Having a limited flight time isn't THAT big of a deal, but it does get annoying. Same with not being able to use it as a vaulting tool. That, coupled with the lack of jumping, makes it feel like traversal has been downgraded since the previous game.
3. This isn't nearly as bad as the other two, but it did get me killed a few times. Vandheer Lorde when coupled with the speed boost is TOO fast. When he vaults small spaces, he'll sometimes overshoot completely and send me falling into the abyss.
All in all, great game. I look forward to the next entry in the series.

I cant say if its cause I played the original flash games, so I kinda knew what to expect, but I really really enjoyed this. The levels are very basic, yes, but in all they were short enough that it didn't bother me. I was actually surprised though when I realised I was really enjoying the combat. Yes theres some jank there but it feels very fluid once you get into it, a bit like a side scroller character action game. Im not sure Ill go for 100% but I do think Ill try unlocking more of the many many weapons! This feels like a passion project and, if not a perfect one, a pretty good one. Hope we get some of the other games in the series remastered like this, as (if I recall correctly) they had some more interesting stuff in them!
It's honestly a shame one of the achievements here is broken because this is a game I was ABSOLUTELY going to go for 100% on, but was left slightly short of it by an unfixed bug. Oh well.
[b]Armed with Wings (Rearmed)[/b] is a sort-of-kind-of remake to the first game in the series of old Flash games by the same name. There were like 5 of them, you might not have played them but they were these [i]really[/i] cool brawlers with a silhouetted artstyle and neat combat. Every flash kid's wet dream, getting to play these cool ninja fights with ambiguous black-on-white character designs and really well done animation.
It's a simple game with automated Zelda-ish jumping on ledges, and light and heavy attack buttons. You only really have your one moveset (basic attacks, plus directional attacks for both light and heavy strikes and you can juggle guys around with the right tricks), but as you play you get to unlock different swords with different stats and effects, and possibly up to TWO SLOTS for extra active abilities (usually in the form of projectiles).
You also get a dodge roll button, as every game of this type has to have. You can block with it too but you're usually better off just rolling out of the way and not wearing out your stamina by blocking.
You also get to control your funny bird for puzzles but there's not much to them, they're more of a side note for the main campaign.
The artstyle is probably the first thing that'll stick out, silhouetted as it is. You get to see a bit more character detail in cutscenes, but for most of the game you'll just be looking at their silhouettes.
[b]It's a Sun-Studios game so OF COURSE the actual fighting animation and spritework is god-tier. Good ♥♥♥♥.[/b]
There's not much in the way of music in the game (only about, what, 6-7 songs in the whole game?) but what is there is alright. The type of music you would've expected to hear in old Newgrounds projects like this. There's a couple earwormy melodies in there.
Anyway the game has a main STORY mode (a 40-level campaign), a SURVIVAL mode (with a handful of maps to pick from), a VERSUS mode (that's apparently two player but i've never even touched it, no interest in that stuff) and a JUGGLE mode (that's basically trying to do as many hits as possible to a "dummy" without it touching the ground).
There's plenty of 'chievos (shown ingame, too) to keep you interested too if you want extra challenges. i did MOST of those... up until the very end.
[i]All of what I'm saying about this game is good. I love D-Sun's style and have nothing but praise for his games.
But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ those last two achievements just kinda made me sad.[/i]
There's achievements for beating the game on Hard mode, and on Futile mode.
Hard mode is just broken, I've beaten the game like that 5 times under completely different conditions and none of it worked, the thing's just impossible to get.
And Futile mode... APPARENTLY actually let you use weapons freely during Early Access, as per old recordings of the game on YouTube, but at some point they decided to make that mode lock out all your weapons, so you have to beat the game with the strongest enemies, in one try, WITHOUT getting to engage with any of the other cool weapons or all the mechanics and customization that they introduce. With only the flimsy, basic low-stat sword.
[i]I already beat the game with the basic Katana once on Hard and it wasn't all that fun, why would I do that again but with one life after going through the work of unlocking all the other weapons?[/i]
...In any case it's a pretty good game, it's just a shame those two things kept me from 100%ing it because I would have ABSOLUTELY gone for it otherwise. It's a [b]blast[/b] of a game at its best moments, with really fun combat and a really cool visual style that completely compliments it.
[b]Entirely recommended[/b], just keep in mind you may not get to 100% it if you were going in with that intention.
If want hard hack and slash try it.
You also have a deflect on projectiles like bomb , parry on mostly anything , dodge can avoid enemy attacks but not if there is swarm of them you will get hit by one of them at the end of dodge even if you hold the button.
Also seems to be desinged for speedruners. Diffrent paths that can shorten a level.
i rarely find games that make me feel so cool. i think this gem was tailor made for my specific gaming tendencies. short, replayable, clean n simple gfx, collectibles and multiple player characters... sick combos thatll put you in X Games Mode

一款缺点比较明显的2D平台动作游戏，各方面要素都有点但设计都不够精。游戏主要有剧情和生存两种模式。剧情模式有40关，每关都只有一张不大的地图，每关有一个隐藏收集品，大部分关有两到三种通关路线（对应不同终点），大多数不难找，有些需要特殊的武器技能才能进入。剧情模式属于可玩但不算出色的水平，敌人种类不多，BOSS也就四个，除了最终boss以外战斗强度和探索难度都不算很高。所以正常难度整体玩下来感觉更像是个解谜探索游戏，而且（考虑到游戏画面特色）主要是考量眼力的那种。剧情本身约等于没有，不用期待。生存模式是面对连续不断出现的一波一波敌人，敌人会越来越强。但是由于主角在这个模式中不能更换武器，也没有任何增强，所以第5波以后很快就会力不从心。感觉这个模式完全没有认真设计，就是把场景和敌人素材拿来重复利用。游戏的画面是黑白剪影风格，很有复古剑戟片的感觉，但进了过场动画就会发现制作细节上的粗糙和贫穷。游戏支持手柄，但是不能自定义按键。平台间的跳跃是半自动的，到平台边缘主角会自动跳出去，造成很多时候玩家无法判断跳跃的确切时机和准确距离，另外如果你装了手动跳跃技能或者浮空被动技能，原本关卡里的有些平台会变得非常难跳，有种前不着村后不着店的感觉。而且人物总体上惯性偏大（偏滑冰的感觉）。然后说说战斗部分，正常和困难难度下（一命难度没试过）敌我动作模式都过于单一。主角只有固定攻击数的一套平A，部分武器有附加的一种到两种特殊技能。敌人基本都是固定的一套打法，boss可能有两招到三招，总体上来说玩法比较单调，基本都是翻滚绕背打一套，再翻滚绕背到另一半再打一套，重复到打死。游戏操作上的难度主要在于被敌人围攻，地面上如果一个方向有多于2个敌人或者腹背受敌主角很容易会被打硬直然后连击好几套，如果不幸在空中被击中更是可能被浮空无限连。主角没有任何属性，所有属性和技能都是武器自带的，所以变强的唯一方式是获得好武器。武器的解锁方式是在游戏过程中累积分数在一局结束之后解锁，所有武器和技能有77个（充数的居多），中期基本上都要一两千分解锁一个，打一局生存也就是几千分，所以这游戏后期要想变强还需要肝/刷。总而言之，本作从设计上说不属于硬核动作类，所以不推荐追求战斗挑战的玩家入手。如果你只是喜欢这个画风，想体验一下混合的平台+解谜+战斗体验，打折时候买了通个一周目还可以。

Я играл в неё ради ностальгии и игрового мира о котором повествовал разработчик через серию его игр Armed with Wings которые были выпушены ещё на флеше. Но боёвка действительно очень качественная и уникальная, я ни в одной игре не видел подобного. За это, а ещё за атмосферный арт, она достойна к прохождению даже не ради ностальгии
难度不高，成就很多，特别适合休闲，黑白色的画风也是这个系列的经典操作了。
传统的操作系统和前几部差不多。
整体难度在横版游戏了偏容易。
新人也很好上手。
而且不比之前，修复了许多BUG。

Armed with Wings - Rearmed e' l'unico gioco dell'omonimo franchise hack&slash in Flash disponibile su Steam, piattaforma su cui e' approdato in Early Access nel lontano 2016. L'origine lascia intuire che si tratti di un gioco piuttosto basico, intuizione corretta che pero' non implica necessariamente una giudizio negativo sulla qualita' del prodotto finale (ricordo che anche il primissimo The Binding of Isaac girava su Flash).
Trattasi, come dicevo, di un hack&slash che spinge forte su due aspetti: in primis l'impatto artistico, complice l'implicita bicromia suggerita dalla contrapposizione tra i personaggi (neri) e i colpi delle armi (bianchi) che rompe volontariamente la staticita' dei fondali in scala di grigio; ultimo ma non ultimo l'alternanza tra la "mano", cioe' il protagonista che semina morte con la propria spada, e la "mente", cioe' l'aquila che esplora con occhio attento aria e terra alla ricerca di segreti, enigmi e reliquie.
Questo yin-yang di colori e forme costella un percorso di 40 stage complessivamente ben disegnati, specialmente nell'ultima parte del gioco. La difficolta' non risulta mai eccessiva, e la possibilita' di sbloccare e, in parte, personalizzare l'arsenale di spade messo a disposizione rende l'esperienza sempre divertente, facendoci chiudere un occhio su alcuni problemucci relativi alla reattivita' dei controlli (probabilmente qualche magagna tecnica dovuta alle origini del motore di gioco) e sulla ripetitivita' del gameplay di base.
In definitiva: ve lo consiglio, meglio se in saldo. La longevita' di base e' piuttosto bassa (circa 2h, 2h30 per terminare una run) ma la possibilita' di giocare un new game + con un nuovo personaggio, la ricerca delle reliquie, lo sblocco delle armi e la modalita' infinita "a ondate" vanno ad aggiungere una buona quantita' di contenuti.

I remember playing the old browser version of this game like a decade ago and this has been in my wishlist for a while, so I thought why not buy it now that it's on sale. It's exactly what I hoped it would be; an improved version of the browser game, with quite a few additions, new enemies, more levels, better bossfights, mechanics etc. I beat the main story in a little under 2 hours so it's pretty short, but there are a few other game modes and weapons to unlock to make the game last longer. Overall I'd definitely recommend it.
an amazing game i loved it i have played armed with wings 1-3 and culmination and finally i have gotten the chance to play rearmed and i am so glad i did it is more then worth the price in my opinion if you are considering to get this game do so but i would recommend playing the others first they are free (a bit buggy the other games but amazing i loved all of them). and if the creator Daniel sun see's this thank you for making these games and if your currently making another one good luck i will definitely play it if you make another. you are great.
Another 2D action game that needs more polish. Enemies will fling themselves off of cliff even if you stand and do nothing. Moving has too much sliding which will move you out of position. It overall did not feel great to play.
Recuerdo que por esos años del 2011 jugué al Armed With Wings 2, yo tenia 7 años, ahora después de tanto tiempo pude comprar este juego, de la saga que mas me gusta, y me ha encantado, aunque el soundtrack no ha estado muy bueno, siento que le falto mas energía, creo que esta mas tranquilo, queriendo imitar el soundtrack de culmination, recalcando que creo que el de culmination esta mejor, pero al menos me quedare con la emoción del juego. Não vou mentir, no começo parecia só um jogo qualquer de celular, mas acabou tendo [b]uma das boss fights mais incríveis que eu já vi em mais de 25 anos de videogames[/b]... se fosse só por ela já valeria o preço, mas tem muito mais.

A jogabilidade, o combate em si é SEM DÚVIDA o grande ponto positivo do jogo, acima de qualquer outro. Ela é um pouco estranha a princípio, mas não demora a acostumar, porque o combate é surpreendentemente muito fluído, e é divertido demais ficar dançando no ar enquanto comba os inimigos, testando habilidades, encaixando golpes diferentes enquanto desvia de ataques, é sensacional, isso sem nem mencionar a mecânica de parry, que é muito legal, embora eu prefira usar a esquiva.
Outro ponto muito positivo é o pós-game. Não é todo jogo que te deixa zerar de novo usando o chefe final, e tá sendo ainda mais divertido jogar com ele, e isso resolveu um problema que eu tive: tive a sorte de dropar uma espada que era forte demais e não larguei mais e acabei arrebentando o jogo... mas agora rejogando do zero, sem dar essa sorte, tô penando legal, aumentando muito mais a vida útil do jogo, o que, aliás, o modo Survival e o Versus também contribuem muito pra fazer.
Além desses, as animações de batalha, dos ataques mais simples às habilidades mais espalhafatosas, são bonitas e fluídas demais. É um negócio de encher os olhos, sobretudo na ultima boss fight. Me senti jogando um anime, serião.

As únicas coisas das quais eu de fato reclamo, são a trilha sonora ( fraquíssima. Ao menos o chefe final merecia algo muito superior ) e as artes das cutscenes ( que são bem pobrinhas, apesar de a animação das batalhas ser linda ), mas né... 1 pessoa só desenvolvendo, não dá pra esperar que saia tudo incrível.

Fast combat coupled with clunky controls makes this frustrating at times. Multiple abilities mapped to the same button doesn't seem needed on a PC game. A platformer with no jump button is a very strange decision.
Fun game, also great for nostalgia if you played the previous flash games. This is the greatly improved version of the first game in the series, so the main story is short, but there are different gameplay modes and unlockable characters.

worth more than $10. honestly, what's not to love about the game? every fight is just hard enough to be a fun challenge, but not so hard as to be frustrating. the combat isn't overly complex but fun all the same. you do have to be careful about slippery ground (I've died many time to spikes because of it). I hope the rest of the series gets the rearmed treatment and put on steam.
I've read some other reviews of this game, describing its flash game roots; I've read descriptions of a game world where environments jelled with the enemies present in it, lore with interesting relationships, Arabic and Chinese inspirations that used to be there. It's clear that a lot of people like or even love Armed with Wings as a series and were excited for it to get a full release on Steam. I get it, because from their descriptions, I wanted that game to be the one I had been playing! I wish that I could recognize anything of what they were writing about.
But I can't. I haven't played the flash games, and when playing Armed with Wings: Rearmed, I can only tell you what I see. It's a game that tries to be a lot of different things, but ends up not being good in any given area. The story is weak, the music is overbearing, the animations fall flat and the level design is dull. There is no thought given to tempo and impact, with boss battles that just happen and are over as quickly as they are introduced, the only exception being the final one. Armed with Wings might have been better in its previous installments, or maybe the company it kept was worse, making it look more impressive in comparison. On Steam, excluding the shovelware, this game compares badly to other indie games of the past decade.
As for game mechanics, again, every aspect is worse than it should be, and nothing shows this better than the platforming. There is no jump button in this game. That should already be enough criticism for a game that does feature platforming challenges. Instead you have a weird autojump when you walk off ledges, and you have a dodge which is bound to the same key as blocking. In the air it feels imprecise and inconsistent, since (I assume) the movement keys have to be pressed for you to dodge instead of block. This doesn't feel natural in the air, when you're always in motion. Thus, in reality you're not actually controlling much when you're platforming, only your left-right movement. It's extremely uninteresting and I have no idea why the jumping sections are even in the game.
Which brings me to the hawk mechanics, another unnecessary and underdeveloped element. Infrequent environmental puzzles require you to use the hawk to solve them, and they are generally simple and tedious. An object needing to be moved from A to B. There is little more to it than stamina management, which only really means that if you run out, you have to start over. This can lead to ridiculous situations where you have to start over over and over again, for instance if there's a heavy weight that needs moving and drains stamina quickly. It's underdeveloped and yet is used frequently. It's like the developers themselves don't understand what the game is about.
So what is it about? Well, this game is mainly a hack-and-slash brawler, which is what the game is built around and what it does the best. That doesn't mean that it isn't flawed, though. Firstly, the controls are bound to arrowkeys+ASD, and can't be rebound. Secondly, the game's enemies are generally primitive, meaning that all they really do is walk at you and attack when you get close. They're only really dangerous in groups, where they can stunlock you or attack you in the back. The bosses are better, but only slightly, having one or two special moves they do outside of just running/attacking. Thirdly though, and most importantly, the game eats your turning inputs like snacks. When you run away from enemies and want to turn around to attack again, if you're not persistent enough, your character just stops facing the wrong way. If you're using the projectiles on certain weapons, this can mean that you go to face the enemies to release a volley, only to watch your character fire them off in the wrong direction.
Because of this and some other factors, the controls simply feel clunky, like operating an old, rusty machine. But like the people who actually make those machines work fluently, you can work this game fluently as well if you stick it out. Nowhere did I feel that quite like the final boss in this game. It's a legitimately good fight, with flashy and varied attacks where you can really work the mechanics to make an enoyable spectacle. Maybe I saw a glimpse of what the people who played the flash games see when they play Armed with Wings, and if so, I can understand the warm feelings they have.
Sadly, I don't think a good final boss fight makes a good game. If the rest of the fights in the game lived up to the standard set in that last fight, then I would have gladly given this game a thumbs up. As it is, I just can't recommend it. It's a mediocre experience with only some potential to be something better, and I think that there are better ways to spend ones time than to play this, however short it might be.
Armed with Wings: Rearmed is a decent but flawed game. Beyond the great art style, the game as a whole feels like it could use some more work. The game's combat is fast paced and requires you to respond fast to enemies, but your movement and attacks feel clunky and at times unresponsive (having a dodge that does not allow you to change your momentum well bound to the same keys as your movement is not great as well). In addition, the game's level design is at its best average and a lot of the time just downright bad, with you not being able to see what is ahead of you without having to blindly go forward or use your bird companion to look ahead, which is slow and not fun in an action based game. Finally, the game's music is a mixed bag. You do have the nostalgic Armed With Wings music, but there seems to be a distinct lack of music variety, with there only being a few songs in total. Because of these reasons, I did not have fun playing this game and would not recommend it to others.
This is probably my favorite series of all time and one of the first games I played as a kid. Fighting Vandheer again after all those years was awesome! (plus, the quality of life in this game is astonishing)
I discovered this game when I was thinking about my favorite flash games, top of the list were the Armed with Wings games, so I looked up in steam and was filled with joy at the sight of this game. This game is an excellent encapsulation of various idea from all 3 of the games. I would recommend this to anybody.
