I haven't played this much but I feel like that's more because every time I go to play it, it's late at night and I'm not about to purposefully scare the life out of myself at 2am.
Okay maybe I would but the build up in the game is intense

蛮好玩的，有较多的jumpscare和追逐战，剧情也完整，就是我玩的是坏结局，araya没有活下来，还有，缺点有点多，流程较短，近期没有打折，而且本来已经自动保存了，但是退出来重进后会有不显示保存章节的bug，（有可能只有我遇到这种情况）还有后面应该是第8章找三把钥匙是全游戏里面比较难的关卡，其他的就没有什么可说的了，建议不怕玩恐怖游戏，耐得住性子的玩家游玩，同时看看有没有打折，最好打折入手。

I was optimistic about this game, and I think they've blown those hopes out of the water - sure, some of the scares are simple, but those scares are more effective for it. The creators have a good sense of tension, and while I'm not yet an hour into the game I've had to stop and exit out twice to calm down.
Jogo com alguns bugs no checkpoint, tendo que jogar partes que voce acabou de jogar. O gráfico poderia ser melhorado. Esse jogo também me deixa tonto pois a virada de camera, mesmo com ajuste de sensibilidade do mouse, é muito rápida. Achei que a dinâmica do jogo boa, com divisão em 10 capitulos. Não há puzzles complicados e é um jogo pouco assustador sim. Tive problemas de passar no oitavo capitulo. No fim, parece que o espirito da Araya não teve paz, e não conseguindo se libertar, resolve se vingar de todos. Queria um desfecho com final feliz, já que a sua amiga, a Marisa, fez questão de entrar em um hospital no escuro e abandonado, para salvar a vida de Araya. Apesar disso, o jogo é muito bom.
A día de hoy, en 2025, el VR no funciona en Meta Quest 2. Lo compré para jugarlo en VR, sabía que tenía sus bugs y recurrí a las soluciones de los foros. Ninguna funciona.
Si exisitiera la opción neutra al recomendarlo, la pondría porque en sí no tiene mala pinta, pero no tengo otra que darle a "no recomendado".
Otra cosa que me parece mal es que uno de los logros sólo se pueda conseguir si tienes un equipo VR. No todos pueden acceder a uno por muchos motivos, por lo que obligar a un usuario a adquirir unas gafas de estas para tener el juego al 100%, siendo un juego que admite las 2 formas de disfrutarlo, me parece cuanto menos decepcionante.
Si no te importan los logros y no tienes VR, adelante.

I will remember this as one of the worst horror games that I ever played in my entire life, and I think it has far more positive reviews than it deserves.
This game is so dumb, boring, monotonous, repetitive, and not really scary to be honest.
The controls feel a bit weird, and the graphics look awful for a 2016 game.
The story is meh, the characters are uninteresting, and the (short) cut-scenes just suck.
Well, no wonder that the developer has never made another game since then.
I don't wanna sound mean, cause this is kinda sad... But if this is the best that "MAD Virtual Reality Studio" was able to do, then it's probably for the best that they are no longer making games.
And I know that $14.99 is not a lot of money, but it still feels like robbery in this case.

Dafür, dass das Game fast 10 Jahre alt ist, fand ich es eigentlich echt gut.
Man spielt mehrere Charaktere, was mir gut gefallen hat. Das Spiel hat automatische Speicherpunkte, nur muss man jedes Kapitel neu starten, wenn man das Game nicht in einem einzigen Run spielt. Also lieber immer erst aufhören, wenn das Kapitel vorbei ist, damit man nicht von vorne anfangen muss. Wirklich gruselig war das Spiel leider nicht, aber dafür, trotz maximaler Helligkeit, immer noch sehr dunkel :D
Absolut nervig fand ich diese Verfolgungsabschnitte. Das Verfolgen an sich war jetzt nicht schwer, aber dieses unmenschlich schlechte Klettern hat komplett die Spannung rausgenommen. Man muss jedes Mal Leertaste drücken, bevor der Charakter über das Hindernis klettert. Bei mir ging das die meiste Zeit nur dann, wenn ich erst davor stehen geblieben bin und selbst dann musste ich die Leertaste teilweise spammen, damit er klettert.
Was ich grad währen den Verfolgungen auch uncool fand, war das Aufziehen bzw. Aufdrücken von den Türen. Im normalen Gameplay ist es egal bzw. stört nicht, aber dadurch, dass manche Türen nur nach außen und manche nur nach innen aufgehen, ist das grad beim Verfolgen ziemlich unpraktisch, weil man erstmal gucken musste, wie es jetzt bei dieser Tür ist. Quick-Time-Events zum schnellen Öffnen bei Verfolgungen hatte ich irgendwie auch nur bei Marissa, aber bei den anderen nicht.
Es waren ein paar gute Jumpscares dabei, die mich erwischt haben, aber irgendwann waren die vorhersehbar und die meiste Zeit über hab ich sie eigentlich nur verpasst, weil das Spiel halt zu dunkel war :D
Trotzdem fand ich das Spiel gut und unterhaltsam und kann es empfehlen, wenn man sich jetzt nicht das krasseste Horror-Game erhofft.

좀 지난 게임이지만 생각보다 재미있었습니다.
이야기를 풀어가는 방식 적절히 무서운 분위기와 10년이 다되어가는 게임이지만
다른 인디공포게임과 비교해도 손색이 없을정도입니다.
하지만 한글의 부재와 처음에도 언급했지만 할인이 거의 없다는게 참 서운하네요.
공포게임 매니아, 정말 좋아하시는 분들만 추천.

I like this game, but for the wrong reasons.
The game actually does a decent job at building tension. It has some genuinely scary moments, dark environments with a good flashlight (making it dark, but not unreasonably so) and good looking visual design for the most part, but it suffers from severe Z-fighting (texture glitches), clunky mechanics that works when it feels like it, very goofy animations (your character model while you sprint and crawl for example) and other odd issues, like voice lines repeating themselves and going out of sync for some reason.
While the tension was often good, it was also ruined just as often by lame jumpscares and chase scenes with dead ends, forcing you to restart by trial and error.
So, half the time I enjoyed the game for being a genuinely alright horror game. The other half of the time I enjoyed the game because the goofiness and glitches made me laugh.
This makes it a little tough to recommend it. But overall, I had a good time with it, so I recommend trying it out for a discounted price.
Juego desde una primera impresion interesante, pero tiene problema con las resoluciones , progreso del juego , los movimientos tiene problemas en algunas zonas, no recomiendo pagar el precio completo, el juego no funciona bien encima de 1080p.

玛丽莎对应阿拉亚，拉玛对应他女儿，伯恩对应的是谁？但根据伯恩一路上捡的纸条故事剧情，他是因为不孝所以被鬼追杀吗？
而且直到最后我也没搞清楚序章被追杀的是谁？
迷迷糊糊反正玩完了，也没搞懂主管和杰特为什么要困住阿拉亚的灵魂，后期可以捡到和古曼童有关的文档，所以是要用阿拉亚的孩子做古曼童吗？但是古曼童和母体有关系吗？
emmmm，果然恐怖游戏还是不要想太多了，气氛到了就差不多了。

It isnt on the level of puppet combo or Chilla Art's however, the story and progression was decent and in all honesty, it was pretty solid.

To begin, a technical NOTE for VR: Make sure you are seating on a chair in front of your computer monitor before launching the game from Steam. You can find yourself above the character player's body if you don't do so. Took me a while to figure it out, I nearly ended up asking for a refund.
The game itself as I envisioned it to be, was not exactly how I envisioned it. It is a very inspirational VR horror game for me, however it could have been more freaky.
I definitely have to recommend it as it is worth the experience and given the energy expenditure on behalf of the developers, it would be disrespectful to them to do otherwise like some people did, however everyone is entitled to their opinion and some negative reviews are actually justified. In my opinion this VR horror game is definitely not worthy of not recommending.
I normally experience these VR horrors under the unusual circumstances of psychedelia, it became some sort of sadomasochistic hobby to some extent. So trust me, if it was scary, it probably was.
As for this horror experience, for sure it was from the horror category. Some VR horror games like "Don't Knock Twice", at first when I tried the demo which was pretty scary, the actual game was more like a psychological horror where the player can start to feel compassion for the character in the game and what was meant to be the dreaded horror of the unknown ahead, became some kind of something different. As for Araya, yeah it is horror.
However, having the experience of VR horror like Madison VR and Exorcist: Legion VR, they are superior in my opinion. Rise of Insanity in VR, also ranks with them in my opinion.
Araya, when I played it first time, after solving the VR headset technical issue, it was kinda scary. It took me like 4 different times to complete the whole game. The second time I played it was pretty scary, I don't know why it was more scary than the first time I played the first few chapters. The third time was less scary than the second, but I would often get chills down my spine even by walking around and exploring the hospital.
Sound was pretty good for it's time, good weird dark kinda stuff.
I haven't really experienced any major bugs as some people claim it is full of bugs, nothing broke the game. The VR thing is probably the only thing they could correct or at least have a height correction option in the menu or something. However, overall it is a pretty well made game for a non-commercial developer. In fact, I dislike commercial games in general. I played Half-Life: Alyx and it is a very well made game worth experiencing, however too commercial feel for me, I prefer indie developer immagination. Even Resident Evil 7 which is probably the scariest of them all, unfortunately I played the whole game on the monitor before learning that their exists a VR mod for it, then tried the VR mod and it is pretty scary, but never finished it in VR, not sure why, I need to play it again in VR as it was already quiet some time since I played it first time, so will be more fresh experience. With Resident Evil Village, that I played from start in VR as I knew already about the mod, but it is not that scary as compared to RE7, most of the action is in the day which shows the beauty of the 3D artist's artwork, however not good for VR horror, if their was a night mode MOD, then that would make REVIII much scarier in my opinion. Still both RE games are commercial, but Resident Evil is naturally messed up, so I feel less of that commercial feeling than as compared to Half-Life: Alyx.

You will need to download the RE7.zip or RE8.zip for the respective Resident Evil games. Both mods work well, maybe native VR would have been better, but it worked well enough as far I remember.
For VR horror, I would say Resident Evil 7 is a must.
Araya for VR horror maniacs, for sure worth the experience, like I said, I would often get chills down my spine just by walking around the hospital, so buckle your seat belts Dorothy and do it properly.
Araya is a game I wanted to experience in VR for quiet some time, but I waited for a discount that never arrived. But after experiencing Madison VR which was kinda traumatic experience at times, I had to experience this one.
Another VR horror game I heard about is actually a normal desktop horror for which you will need to use an external VR application like 「https://github.com/praydog/UEVR」 . That game is called Visage. From my experience, I can tell and from people's reviews, I am not looking forward to experiencing that one, there is something about little girls with long black hair that is just disturbing. Big ugly scary looking dudes don't scare me, just annoy me, little Japanese girls with long black hair, 頑張ります！
BTW The voice acting (English) in Araya was very good in my opinion with a nice British accent to it.
Ставлю без каких-либо сомнений зачет игре, ниже конечно опишу недостатки, но я не ожидал от игры, что она меня так затянет, что за один присест ее добил.
В этом незамысловатом симуляторе ходьбы, есть очень интересный сюжет, который и захватывает, потому хочется найти ответы. Тут три сюжетные линии, пересекающиеся между собой. Тут куча локаций, пускай и коридорно схожих между собой. Тут есть даже места, где можно погибнуть, что редко присуще подобным инди хорорам. Атмосфера игры пугает, но тут нет туповатых скримеров возникающих из ниоткуда. Тут все по делу.
Повторюсь, ставлю игре ЗАЧЕТ, просто за то, что не ожидал такого.
Из недостатков отмечу чутка недоработанную графику и кривоватое управление, говорят, что лучше в нее в VR играть, но я и так отлично провел время

i wish this game had a remastered version because i feel like chapters towards the end were a little rushed and lacking the main idea and story of the game (cuz it was chase sequence galore) but besides some bugs and that, i rlly do love this game and i hope that one day i see a remastered announcement, because this game deserves a lot more recognition.

J'ai adoré ! Par contre je suis très contente de ne pas y être allée directement en VR ^^
De bons jumpscares, l'atmosphère était top, côté gameplay c'est du classique avec une petite touche à la Outlast qui va bien. Les séquences de chase sont top parce que plutôt faciles à faire tout en maintenant une tension assez forte. Et pour l'histoire, ça tient la route.

游戏缺点：
游戏恐怖氛围 延续了古早恐怖风格 放到现在来看 如果有恐怖游戏经验的话 可以说 基本是完全不吓人
且本作游戏，最大缺点，游戏Bug过多，导致游戏回档，需要从很久之前开始读档，然后进行繁琐且枯燥冗长的探索，可以说是索然无味。
短短两个半小时的游戏流程，我经历了三次回档，和不计其数的Bug，本来想着探索游戏剧情，坚持把游戏玩完，可实在是影响玩家的体验，因此还不如直接退款。
而且，游戏的性价比很低，游戏在阿根廷购入，大概100多RMB，14.99刀，性价比奇低，建议想要游玩的小伙伴们，慎重购入。
当然啦，如果你也想跟我一样，做一个大冤种，那么，我只能跟你说。

It's very rough around the edges. When you start the game it puts you in a tutorial but doesn't tell you it is a tutorial so it just feels like you are starting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. I encountered a couple of game breaking bugs and had to reload previous save points. But the story was fun and the gameplay overall wasn't bad so if you are looking for a decent 3 hour horror experience then look no further.

我最喜欢阿拉亚，我第一次有电脑时候玩的第一款游戏就是阿拉亚，剧情音效都特别不错，我也是一直想玩，也是玩了一下感觉还是不错的，现在有了Steam平台打算支持一下正版，看了介绍才知道只有中文字幕，没有中文界面，要是官方以后出个中文界面或者中文音频就更好了，整体来说还是不错的，直接给个好评主要是给惊悚的音效和完美的剧情，希望官方再接再厉，出个中文界面，以便中国玩家进行游玩和体验。
和朋友们一起玩很欢乐。居家旅行必备 :)

The game is creepy, and the history is rather interesting.

Азиатские хорроры – отдельный вид искусства. Они не всегда страшные, но абсолютно в каждом случае жуткие. Если вы смотрели оригинальные фильмы типа «Звонков» и «Пропущенных звонков», «Проклятия», «Кинопробы», «Глáза» и других, то понимаете, о чём речь.
Без понятия, как азиаты это делают, но в создании атмосферы безысходности, бесконечной тоски и меланхоличной тревоги они могут составить серьёзную конкуренцию Балабанову. Даже самые обычные вещи подаются с максимально пугающей перспективы – пресловутые лиминальные пространства и эффект «зловещей долины» доведены до абсурда. Теорию последнего, кстати, сформулировал японец Масахиро Мори.
Совпадение? Не думаю.
[h2] Незаслуженно потерявшаяся годнота [/h2]
Есть несколько причин, по которым ARAYA можно смело назвать добротным хоррором.

[*] Простота. Здесь нет ничего лишнего. Саспенс не нарушается красивым пейзажем или чрезмерной интерактивностью. Игра подчиняет ваше внимание и концентрирует его в одной жуткой точке.
[*] Атмосфера. Лиминальные пространства были упомянуты выше не просто так. ARAYA идеально воплощает в себе понятие кенопсии – жуткого, одинокого места, обычно кишащего людьми, но в конкретный момент пустого и заброшенного. Мозг узнаёт знакомые места (а в больницах каждый бывал хоть раз), подсознание пытается дорисовать людей, а в итоге воображение переходит на сторону тьмы.
[*] Нормальное ненормальное. Если вы смотрели американский ремейк фильма «Зеркала», то несколько дней вашей жизни абсолютно точно прошли в навязчивых попытках избежать зрительного контакта со своим отражением.
ARAYA использует тот же приём: подземные переходы, двери и холлы встречаются нам каждый день. Если у вас в квартире есть длинные коридоры – готовьтесь к неповторимым ощущениям скорой встречи с интересными, но не очень живыми личностями.

[h2] Что делать, если не страшно? [/h2]
Любители особого экстрима, не получающие достаточно сердечных приступов во время прохождения, могут в ночи пощёлкать зажигалкой в кромешной тьме перед зеркалом. Но это уже за гранью добра и зла, и я настоятельно рекомендую поберечь свою кукушечку.
Более безобидный способ лучше прочувствовать атмосферу ARAYA – посмотреть «Воспоминания об убийстве» корейца Пон Джун-хо или его оскароносных «Паразитов». Последние не являются хоррором, но пропитаны как раз тем самым чувством дискомфорта и ощущением, что вы в квартире не одни.

The story of this game was quite alright (the typical uncover the truth about someone's death in a haunted place type of story). Gameplay wise, it was okay as well. However, there was a minor issue where you're trying to jump over the hospital bed while being chased, the interact button to jump over the bed bugged that I had to do multiple attempts to get past that part (Rama's part). But that's okay since I still managed to finish the game w/o any problem. Jumpscares in this game were kinda meh, but there was one that makes me scream "FUIYOHH" like crazy and it wasn't even a ghost lmao. The environment of the hospital is nicely designed as well. Of course, when it comes to character voices, just go with the Thai voice cause EN voice is kinda...uuhhhh. Overall, this game is very nice, I would recommend it.

《ARAYA》是一款第一人称恐怖冒险游戏。游戏会以3个角色的视角切换进行，在一个闹鬼的医院里进行探险并揭开导致闹鬼的真相。虽然是独立游戏画面和建模较差，但是制作组用夜晚低亮度掩盖了一部分这方面的缺点，并且同时营造了一个不错的恐怖氛围。而在声音方面有很多紧张的音乐配合各种瘆人的怪声，让本作的恐怖感再进一步。最后配合上较多的高能场景，绝对会在某个无意间吓你一跳。不过游戏的玩法比较传统，就是找东西加躲怪物，并且怪物的追逐战太频繁且太过于公式化导致不够刺激。因此本作是一款恐怖气氛不错的入门级恐怖游戏，推荐给所有喜欢这类游戏的新老玩家。最后游戏还支持VR，如果有设备的话恐怖感会更进一步。
