❗❗❗Обзор на русском❗❗❗

Визуальные новеллы для меня через чур специфические, поэтому часто обхожу стороной. Однако это не означает, что ознакомиться с таким жанром нет желания. К сожалению, что нельзя поставить нейтральную оценку. Данная новелла скорее никак, чем плохо - все по порядку.

Рисовка в стиле маслом мне понравилась. В наши дни не часто можно увидеть такой стиль в играх. Поэтому если не выглядит как что-то новое, то точно как необычный визуал - по крайней мере лично для меня.

Музыкальное сопровождение мне показалось лишним, особенно через чур часто звучит депрессивные ноты. Понимаю, что через музыку игроку дают понять внутренние переживания протагониста. Однако когда это на постоянной основе, то, во-первых, это утомляет, а во-вторых, нет желания проходить новеллу по другому сценарию банально, что бы не слушать это. Тем не менее фоновые звуки мне понравились. Пение птиц, шелест деревьев, деревенская суматоха. Лучше бы разработчики не добавляли музыку, а оставили только фоновое звучание.

Сюжет тоже банален и меня особо не зацепил совершенно. Появление походу тех или иных персонажей сразу давало понимание куда пойдет повествование. Хотя признаюсь один сюжетный поворот меня все таки зацепил и даже взбодрил. Только вот в целом это не поменяло мое отношение к сюжету.

Отдельно хочу отметить про диалоги. Игроку дается выбор который, влияет не только на развитие событий, но и на вид главной героини. Тем самым визуально показывая развитие протагониста. Только вот это "выбор без выбора". После прохождение первого сюжета Я подумал, что это такой хитрый способ разработчиков показать характер протагониста. Мне такой прием уже попадался и собственно благодаря этому Я как игрок понимаю, что играю не за пустого болванчика, а за вполне живого персонажа у которого есть предыстория, эмоции и переживания. Однако когда начал играть за второй сценарий все выше описанное ушло в корзину. Поскольку во втором прохождении выбор в диалогах оказалось больше.

Итог: новелла средняя, но все таки ей удалось меня удивить и данный продукт в работоспособном состоянии, что уже достижение в текущих условиях индустрии.

Visual novels are too specific for me, so I often avoid them. However, this doesn't mean I don't want to try this genre. Unfortunately, I can't give it a neutral rating. This novel is rather average than bad – everything in order.

I liked the oil painting style. You don't often see this style in games these days. So, if it doesn't look like something new, it certainly looks unusual visually – at least for me personally.

The musical score seemed unnecessary to me, especially the overly depressing notes. I understand that the music helps the player understand the protagonist's inner experiences. However, when it's constant, it's tiring, and secondly, I don't want to play through the novella using a different scenario just to avoid listening to it. Nevertheless, I liked the background sounds: birdsong, rustling trees, the bustle of the village. It would have been better if the developers hadn't added music and left it just for the background sounds.

The plot is also trivial and didn't really grab me. The appearance of certain characters seemed to immediately give me an idea of where the narrative was headed. Although I admit, one plot twist did hook me and even invigorated me. However, overall, it didn't change my attitude toward the plot.

I'd like to specifically mention the dialogue. The player is given a choice that affects not only the development of events but also the appearance of the main character, thereby visually showing the protagonist's development. But it's a "choice without a choice." After playing through the first story, I thought it was a clever way for the developers to show off the protagonist's personality. I've encountered this technique before, and it's precisely because of it that, as a player, I understand that I'm not playing as a dummy, but as a fully realized character with a backstory, emotions, and experiences. However, when I started playing the second scenario, all of this went out the window. Because in the second playthrough, there was more dialogue choice.

Bottom line: the novella is average, but it still managed to surprise me, and this product is functional, which is already an achievement in the current industry.

Visual-Novel français très sympa ! Je ne m'y connais pas assez dans le genre, mais de très belles illustrations, de belles musiques, juste un peu absente par moment on aurait aimé qu'elles soient encore plus présentes ! En tout cas le jeu remplit bien sa tache, façonner notre histoire selon nos choix afin de voir ce que cela dit de nous !

If you're looking for a "game" in the traditional sense keep looking. Along the Edge is less of a video game and more of a glorified e-book while the art style has its charms the experience is painfully slow and boring.
The gameplay is strictly "novel-style," meaning you'll spend 99% of your time clicking through walls of text with very little interactive payoff. Even for the visual novel genre the pacing feels sluggish and the stakes never quite land. If you prefer active engagement over passive reading this will likely feel like a chore rather than entertainment.

I feel a bit sorry for the developers behind this game, as it seems to be getting some pretty harsh reviews.

As a visual novel, it has its own charm. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised to find it better than I had expected. The writing could be more engaging and the pacing of events could be improved, but overall, I still found it enjoyable.

Your choices do matter, even if it’s not always clear how. It took me a couple of playthroughs to figure out how different decisions shape the story. You’re not just uncovering what’s happening... you’re also shaping it as you go. Choices like “I know” or “I didn’t know” feel less about lying and more about building the background of the story.

I also liked how short it is, as it makes it easy to replay and try out different paths and endings. I highly recommend it for the price I paid [free] :)

pra um jogo de escolhas, é bem limitante. as opções de romance são praticamente um tiro no escuro, já que oq sabemos sobre cada personagem é extremamente vago, e tem apenas 1 ou 2 interações com eles antes de ter que decidir definitivamente sobre a relação, além de que um deles só sabe conversar se for sobre isso, mesmo com histórico com a personagem, e o outro ainda assediou a protagonista (o que não teve importancia nenhuma aparentemente) (não colocar a solène como interesse romântico foi um erro). o conceito e a história são legais mas parece "não finalizado", digamos assim. foi divertido mas não me deu interesse nenhum em rejogar, simplesmente pq boa parte dos diálogos é apenas pulável. no mais, a arte é legal e bem única, e as músicas ambientalizam bem o jogo.

Soft recommend. Beautiful game with a mediocre and at times boring story. No save functionality makes it a nightmare to do more runs with any sort of practicality (or in my case, go bed for the night at 6 AM. Nope, this VN decided I'd be up until at least 7 or screw the progress I'd made until that point). Pretty uninteresting millennial French girl MC yet somehow that's where character likeability ends; the rest are rather one-dimensional and at times pretty creepy. This game is saved by the art, sometimes the sound design, and the fact I got it for free. Didn't care for the fact her miscarriage was supernatural, kind of undermined a topic I was pleased to see portrayed in a game for once. Wouldn't pay full price, but for a few dollars it's not a terrible purchase.

I enjoyed it, and played through a couple of times, but was really hoping for a better payoff, and for a "choices matter" game, it often takes the most dramatic and meaningful choices out of your hands. I got it for free, so I can't hate it- and wouldn't anyway- but I can't really recommend it, either. If you can get it for free or cheap (it is right now), it's a decent way to kill a few hours. If you want something where your choices are deeply impactful- not just swapping out a few lines of dialogue- you'll want to look elsewhere.

Along the Edge is a mature visual novel by Nova-box that focuses on the life of Daphné as she moves to the French countryside and discovers her family's hidden magical heritage.

The game has a phenomenal hand-drawn art style, which uses autumnal colors to bring the rural setting and characters to life. The main character’s physical appearance even shifts to reflect her personality and the choices you make. Unlike many other VNs where choices are superficial, this game features a deeply branching narrative with 60+ different endings. Your decisions constantly influence 5 different character traits (represented by symbols at the top of the screen), which can lead to vastly different storylines.

A major frustration for many players is the absence of a chapter select or "skip to next choice" feature. Because the game uses a rigid auto-save system, you often have to replay the entire story from the beginning just to see a different outcome for a specific late-game decision. There were situations where it felt the writing was forcing certain interactions or introducing "unskippable plot devices" that ignore prior player choices. For example, certain characters may follow the protagonist to the village regardless of whether you rejected them, occasionally making the narrative feel unnatural.

Очень жаль, что нельзя поставить нейтральную оценку. Это скорее никак, чем плохо. История очень посредственная. Хоть сюжет должен мне откликаться, но подача материала оставляет желать лучшего. Персонажи не раскрыты и выстроить глубокие отношения не выходит. Лично мне было не понятна, такая категоричность в отношении матери и почему она не захотела поговорить с ней с самого начала о причинах её поспешного отъезда из дома, и не желании как-либо контактировать с семьёй. Так же мне было странно слышать о не желании героини давать имя ребёнку чтоб не признавать его существования. Это максимально деструктивно и странно. Последствия и так слишком масштабны и имеют слишком ощутимый вес чтоб подобный ход что-то изменил учитывая, что повлёк за собой разрыв. Сюжет слишком не глубокий для поднятых тем и навевает скуку. Картинка приятная, но не более. Геймплей естественно полностью отсутствует. Музыка тенет на норм изначально, но со временем может начать раздражать. Слишком однообразна. Даже за бесплатно это чистой воды проходняк.

Highly recommend. The art is stunning, the story is interesting and, while I'm not a visual novel fan, it managed to capture my interest.
The Délatour story is so good and the game lets you choose to move on or find out about the ancient family secrets (with a couple more options in between ;) ).

Sehr schöne Visual Novel mit schönen Artworks und begleitender Musik. Die Charaktere gefallen mir für die Kürze der Geschichte sehr gut v.a. die Entscheidungsmöglichkeiten bei Daphné sind spannend und geben der Story immer wieder neue Wendungen. Dennoch flacht für mich das gesamte Spiel etwas ab, da es sehr kurz ist und die Geschichte gefühlt nicht wirklich zu Ende erzählt bzw. gegen Ende sehr stark zusammengefasst wird... damit einfach Ende ist. Naja, für ein kostenloses Spiel ist das Meckern auf hohem Niveau. Wie gesagt die Story ist schön und kurz, nicht herausragend aber emotional und fordert den Spieler heraus verschiedene Wendungen in die Geschichte einzubauen.

26.3.19全成就通关，很有趣的女性主角视角的视觉小说，需要八周目才可全成就，免费领的所以还算值得。
优点：大部分cg非常精致好看，女主的立绘、衣着、发型、发色会随着选项不同而变化，对话时角色的微表情变化很细节；bgm很好听；汉化翻译偶有错字，但是整体还不错。
每周目我最喜欢看女主在水池前变换样子，最后定格的就是本周目的样子，个人喜欢白发和黑发，但波波头的cg画的很好看。
开头和结尾的台词配上cg，有种“自己选择的路，怎么也要走下去不后悔，顺其自然，就算前路未知也要一意孤行”的感觉，盛大的孤独之感。

缺点：
1.不能存档，可以空格键加速，但新对话也会加速，要自己注意。没有cg合集。
2.两名男主长得丑，人设差。木匠前夫哥逼婚催生易破防；废柴啃老无业游民男总试图强吻，自己没主见总被继母（应该是？）推出来和亲，以为自己是演新时代《罗密欧与朱丽叶》啊？
3.魔法除了看着有点吓人＋咒杀对女主有敌意的老太太＋和外婆灵魂对话之外，没有太大作用。
4.成就中最让人无语的是“Like a Virgin”（宛如处子），中文翻译该成就内容为“故作姿态，不轻易‘就范’”，原文我没搜到但估计没好哪去。达成条件是该周目不与两名男主中的任何一位亲吻或发生关系。或许取成就名称的人只是想像美剧一样，整点谐音梗/低俗笑话搞笑，但女性对亲密关系本就有自主选择权，能玩本作的玩家估计也是女性偏多，这样让人很不适。

结局：[spoiler]接受本我，把城堡开发成景点，成为魔法医生；穿Nerd装，当教师/主任；染黑头发，成为孤独的女巫；帮无产阶级工人反抗垄断资本家；和敌对家族合作破除诅咒。[/spoiler]

so while some of this game was very questionable, i did enjoy it and would recommend at least one playthrough. some of the decisions on how the scene would go after clicking dialogue choices genuinely don't make sense and they made me mad, actually lol. but the art is beautiful.

for being about magic and witches, the route i accidentally went down had NOTHING to do with magic, and i was never trying to avoid it, so i'm not sure what happened there. agh!

i do see this was made in 2016. maybe a different route would be better. if i replay, i'll edit my review.

Galera, Along the Edge é uma visual novel RAIZ. É daquelas que não vai ficar famosinha, ou que aborda um tema popular/viral.
A história dela é o ponto forte, e tem uma cacetada de ramificações baseado nas ações da protagonista, e isso não se limita a "certo" e "errado". Acho que varia em torno de 6 finais principais, mas tem muitos outros acontecimentos que variam esses finais ai (chegando a mais de 30)... puts, funciona bem demais. Também devo destacar as artes full-screen do jogo!

O sistema, música, interface e estilo de gameplay são ultrapassados. Pela história, recomendo pegar numa promoção!

ps: sou do time Daphné terminar a história solo

Indeed, I've surprise my self by chasing for every achievement, knowing that the story will be different and still interesting.
As a first experience in visual novel, I can only but recommend it !

Визуальная новелла про какую-то женщину со своими тараканами в голове. Сюжет очень нудный, по крайней мере за первые полчаса не зацепил совершенно, дальше нет желания продолжать.
Рисовка откровенно всратая. Не совсем уг, конечно, но достаточно плохая. Музыка такая же, какое-то унылое бренчание на пианино.
Еще здесь нет Великого и Могучего Русского языка, при этом есть китайский и еще несколько куда менее популярных языков...
Очередное подтверждение, что что-то годное или качественное бесплатно не отдадут.

The illustrations are beautiful and the story is very well written. You don't realize how long you're playing for, it's very engaging. I just finished my first play through and I can see how so many different choices would cause a completely different outcome... not unlike real life ;)

A fun, short little game to play if you're into narrative based games. Your choices have impact on the story and some choices also shape the MC's personality. I would've liked a "skip read text" feature like how visual novels have, the game is short and you can play through it pretty quickly but it was slightly annoying to replay the entire game to redo a single choice. Love the original art style!

Это визуальная новелла на примерно 3-4 часа, если проходить неспешно. Безумно красивый арт, довольно интересная и приятная история. Отдельно хотел выделить то, что каждый кадр это фактически картина маслом, расплывчато, но порой до безумия красиво. Получена бесплатно и пройдена с большим удовольствием, хотя я не особый фанат новелл. Есть разные ветки сюжета и соответственно разные концовки, от которых даже меняется внешний вид героини. Советую.

Hier erhält man eine kleine unaufdringliche Geschichte, welche eher an ein weibliches Publikum gerichtet ist. Aber auch als Mann fand ich die erzeugte Stimmung interessant. Schließlich geht es nicht nur um Beziehungen, sondern auch um Hexerei und mysteriöse Thematiken, welche nach einer Lösung verlangen.

Die Story ist angenehm einfach gehalten und es gibt verschiedene Enden. In meinem Durchlauf war die Story befriedigend und nach 4 Stunden beendet. Sie ist jedoch kein großer Wurf und hält sich in einer bescheidenen Form. Zudem enthält die deutsche Übersetzung einige Fehler.

Die Grafiken sind einfach aber dennoch liebevoll gezeichnet.

Die Musik ist passend, jedoch wiederholt sie sich öfters.

Für regnerische Tage oder am Abend vor dem Einschlafen kann ich das Game eingeschränkt empfehlen.

It's... Not exactly well-written, nor well-executed. Right from the start, you get some rather odd and meaningless choices which nevertheless give the "alignment" changes (and half of them make no sense whatsoever, even after you try to consider what those represent -- and yes, there's no explanation at all). Then you go do some minor chores, get a seemingly major interaction, and then mid-stride... Are told that several days have passed during which you've been TOO DAMN BUSY TO EVEN LOOK AROUND, doing WE WON'T TELL YOU WHAT.

6个结局打了4个，感觉大同小异，懒得收集全了。美术是挺好的，2个恋爱候补都有很大槽点（[spoiler] 一个在我读博的时候逼我生孩子，一个喝醉了强吻我 [/spoiler]），主线剧情自主性也不强。喜加一的不亏，花钱买的话我会有点胃疼……

If you aren't interested in visual novels that target a female audience with no added gameplay elements, then I wouldn't recommend Along the Edge. If that doesn't deter you, then stick around.

Along the Edge can be slow towards the beginning. However, its overall story is interesting and engaging when it decides to try. The balance between keeping events fast and entertaining versus being methodical and adding worldbuilding is always a difficult tightrope to walk. I think it truly is a matter of emotion that dictates whether that is a good or bad thing. If it bores you too much, it's bad. If it keeps you engaged, then it's good. Visual novels have always had an issue keeping engagement high. For me that balance was met well enough with Along the Edge.

The art is very stylized; there are two different art styles employed. Firstly, the watercolor-painted aesthetics are a visual treat. It usually isn't my cup of tea due to the loss in visual clarity due to the smeared look of the brushstrokes. However, I feel in this case that such detail wasn't necessary. The other technique is a rougher sketchbook sort of look that gives a higher level of detail to characters or items while still complementing the watercolor style. The art breathes life into this game, especially during its duller moments.

In this game your choices truly do matter. Not just the obvious big ones. But small decisions like where to spend your time or how you talk to unimportant NPCs will alter your journey. I like this idea of such innocuous actions leading to greatness, disaster, or simply towards an unknown future. As for the 4 major paths you will take in this game, I think they're all great. Your heritage grants you spiritual abilities, which can be taken advantage of. Or if you're a more naive or scientifically minded person, you can dismiss your abilities as being mere dreams, happenstance, or outright hogwash. The idea that such a major component of the game can be outright ignored for a more stable or normal ending is pretty interesting in my opinion.

The developers decided to go against the idea of having a save feature as an artistic decision. While I understand that this was done to increase the game's cinematic value. There are high costs to this decision. First, a single miss-click at any point can ruin your entire run, potentially erasing your last hour of progress (this did occur to me to a lesser extent). Second, if you want to see all endings, this game will waste alot of your time by forcing you to mash through text you have seen before. (Especially in the first 3 of the 6 chapters.) Most players will have to do 7-8 playthroughs if they don't use a guide. I think the game requires a minimum of 5. There's one ending with Frank, one where you end up alone, and three endings for Stan after accepting his mother's proposal for an arranged marriage. It took me 7 playthroughs to get all achievements. The first run took 2.3 hours, the second was 1.6, and the other 5 took me an hour each. Asking the player to mash through text for so many hours to view all the content you created for your game is a clear flaw that they willingly implemented into the game which shouldn't be ignored. During all that mashing I'm sure I missed new dialogue, which kinda negates the whole implementation of no saves for cinematics' sake. (There is a bookmark option, FYI.)

As for my more personal complaints. It's really dumb that 3 achievements require marrying Stan. Only one of these is a different ending, so you basically need to repeat the same ending twice. Stan also happens to be a rich, player nepo-baby who cuts lines at bakeries and sleeps with taken women. He's a bad person, and I don't like him. Yves is a weird character. He's supposedly obsessed with the tower in our home. But he only makes one attempt to weasel his way inside. I expected more depth and cunning from him. He essentially waltzes into a mob that is very angry with him at the end of most routes. I just feel like his characterization is weak in general.

For my final verdict. It's a good visual novel. I got it for free, and it goes on sale for as little as $4.89. I would recommend it for that price if you like these types of games, especially if you don't plan to complete all endings. For completionists I may recommend staying away since many of your hours will be wasted with pointless mashing.

Grafika w tle świetna i to jest jedyna świetne, Mogłaby co prawda zmieniać się częściej, zwłaszcza podczas istotnych scen, a wygląda, jakby się komuś nie chciało jej namalować.
Postacie w trakcie dialogów są oryginalne - fakt, ale ostatecznie nudne i niepotrzebnie blurowane.
Muzyka ok, choć przewidywalna i nieco nachalna momentami.
Fabuła i historia trochę magiczna, a trochę trywialna. Niektóre konsekwencje decyzji na granicy zdrowego rozsądku/
Zupełnie natomiast nie rozumiem, dlaczego zrezygnowano z nagrania głosów aktorów. To nie jest duży koszt, a baaaaaardzo poprawiłby ogólny nastrój i odbiór. Linii dialogowych nie jest zbyt dużo.
Ponadto, dla kogoś, kto zna angielski, może być spore zaskoczenie. Nowela nie korzysta z popularnego słownictwa, a raczej z jego poetyckich zamienników. Tego oczywiście nie traktuję jako wadę, bo na tym też polega ten gatunek, ale dlatego przejście zajęło mi aż 6h, bo słownik był potrzebny...

I'm not really a fan of visual novels. Played very few of them. Got this game when it was free.

The story takes a long time to build up (happens around chapter 3 or 4) but it's nice, overall. Mr. Bourtine is the best character, imo. The artstyle and the soundtrack are well done, overall.

There are many choices to make and many endings to get, further enhancing replayability. I think I got the neutral good ending but I'm not sure. Will definitely replay it, one day.

Das Game ist schön gestaltet und hat eine interessante Story. Jetzt kommt ein großes ABER: Es ist eine Textstory, ja, aber es ist viel Text.. immer wieder der gleiche Text. Vor allem, wenn man mehrmals spielt mutiert es irgendwann nur noch zu einem Klickmarathon. Es ändert sich nämlich so gut wie nichts. Ein wenig befriedigender wäre es, wenn schonmal gewählte Dinge zumindest schonmal gekennzeichnet wären oder man angezeigt bekäme, welches Symbol jetzt zu welcher Auswahl gehörte, damit man gezielter und mit mehr Spannung statt Frust an alles ran gehen kann, um andere Endings zu erreichen. Da wurde viel Potential übersehen. Bei den Übersetzungen hapert es auch ein wenig, aber nichts wildes. Ansonsten stabiles, kleines Game für zwischendurch. So wie ich es jetzt allerdings nach Stunden Klickmarathon eher frustriert und gelangweilt beendet habe, keine Empfehlung.

Играем, значит, за деваху, которой перешло в наследство поместье бабушки, которая по слухам была ведьмой. Деваха переезжает туда и расхлебывает все накопившиеся в деревне проблемы и распутывает интриги, связанные с её семьёй.

Факты об игре:
*хороший интересный сюжет;
*приятные фоновая музыка и звуки в игре, хотя порой они на некоторое время пропадают, но потом опять появляются;
*Приятная глазу графика;
*Несколько концовок, зависящих от наших выборов. У меня получилась: тьма и магия;
*Достижения приходят сразу же после прохождения игры.

Игра сама по себе не напряжная, к тому же проиграть мы не сможем - сюжет будет меняться в сторону наших решений.
Игра досталась бесплатно, поэтому не было никаких ожиданий от игры и в такой жанр играл очень редко... Игра понравилась. Ощущение будто бы я - автор и мне нужно дописать книгу. Рекомендую к прохождению, особенно, если досталась на халяву :) Может быть ещё пройду её разок на досуге.

Sobre el apartado gráfico es decente pero bajo mi punto de vista mejorable, en cuanto al juego en si, se pueden pulir bastante las mecánicas y no solo basarse en leer y elegir opciones.

También hay que indicar que no esta en español siendo un juego que se basa en leer una historia.

I really wanted to like and support this game but the characters are sooo unlikable. The music stops randomly and the game is just quiet? Very slow. I also found the story very shallow. I could not bring myself to care about anything.

On the bright side, the art is nice and I loved the french.

I just wish it was good. If you want to try it out for yourself please please do not pay full price for it.

The art is nice, the music is fitting and not too repetitive...
The story is abysmal.
Not only it is short for the obvious sake of needing to be replayed multiple times, but it also sometimes does not make sense.
Major decisions quite often have no context given.
Some combinations of choices were obviously not proofread, so in the last scenes I was left wondering why characters mention things I have no recollection of.
The story is mostly a bunch of events poorly glued together.
On top of it all, two "checkpoints" show you where your choices are currently aligning the heroine's future.
To me this is an obvious crutch, like a way to explain the story by not doing any actual storytelling.
Well, judging by other reviewers, it works, but not enough for me to recommend it.

I wish so badly that this were voice acted, but even still it was a phenomenal story. A 4-hour VN with distinct endings, that felt incredibly immersive and reactive to my decisions. The artwork is most gorgeous of all however, with an utterly stunning protagonist. Never have I seen a pair of characters faces be so effectively drawn that it was this clear they were related from a glance alone. Not only that, but the art for both of the Star routes do a phenomenal job of capturing the unmatched beauty of a powerful Witch. Great on deck!

I quitted the game after it forced me to hug and embrace a character who sexually assaulted Daphne in the previous scene, despite me playing as not interested for 100% of the interactions with said character. I was hoping to have an option to hex him, but when - right after he broke into Daphne's house and got drunk - I read that Daphne "let herself go" and doubted if she maybe "judged him a bit hastily", I was done.
The last time Daphne saw him, he was drunk too, and he proceeded to assault her in the middle of the cocktail party - and nothing. Nobody batted an eye. The game has even the audacity to suggest that Daphne's partner was angry (!) at her for being unvoluntarily kissed by another man.
That plot was forced on me - the character in question is an unskippable plot device - and was not driven by my choices.

Suffice to say, I do not recommend this game. It's awful.

As far as interactive story books go, I am not particularly well travelled, but I found this one intriguing. I got this from a 100% discount available on Steam, and as part of "Clearing My Backlog", this appeared on the list, however after such I will be looking up the other Nova-Box titles.

As an English speaker, this most definitely reads like it was originally written with the romance languages in mind then translated to English, and that is indeed true. Originally written in French, to an Englishman the dialogue, especially early on, seems twee and flowery.

However, get past the second dream sequence and that changes. Your decisions matter, and drastically change the course of the game, your decisions matter. A small misstep in a conversation with an NPC, or chosing to talk to 1 person over another, could change your character for the rest of the story, and lock you out of entire story branches. In this game it often feels like every click impacts something.

Think Until Dawn but just the dialogue. Your playthrough could be completely normal, you fall in love, lead a normal life disbelieving in magic, you make piece with your circumstances and flourish.

Alternatively, you could alienate everyone around you, force the village to bend to your will, and turn into Dark Willow from Buffy.

It is not a long game, but if you want a few hours so kill with a short story book, definitely give it a go. If you are an achievement hunter, it is also a quick way to burn through them, as all dialogue can be skipped, however I would recommend savouring the story, even if you are using a guide.

Along the Edge es una muy buena novela visual en la cual las decisiones tomadas por el jugador tienen un efecto visible a lo largo de la historia.
El juego cuenta con una gran rejugabilidad, dado que incluye diversos finales y logros por obtener. Además su estilo visual, a pesar de no ser de mi preferencia, denota lo mucho que han trabajado los desarrolladores.
Lo único negativo que puedo mencionar es su limitado apartado sonoro y la ausencia de actuaciones de voz.
Sinceramente no esperaba mucho de este juego, pero me he llevado una grata sorpresa. 9/10

I didn’t expect this to hit me as hard as it did. The story pulls you in slowly, but once it gets going, the choices actually feel meaningful instead of just cosmetic. I liked how the atmosphere stays a bit mysterious without trying too hard to be “deep.” It’s emotional without being melodramatic, which is rare for narrative games like this.

The art style is simple but really effective, and the music fits the mood perfectly. It’s not a long game, but it sticks with you after you finish. Some moments feel a little slow, and a few choices could have had clearer consequences, but overall it’s a thoughtful experience that respects your time.

If you enjoy choice-driven stories and character-focused writing, this is definitely worth checking out. Nice work from Nova-box.
