Age of Fear: The Undead King is a fantasy turn-based strategy. The game features a novel battle system, two campaigns with solid fantasy stories and very flexible multi-player and skirmish modes. The story takes place in an untamed fantasy land, where three forces: the Human Kingdom, the Greenskins' Horde and the Undead Legion - are fighting for domination and survival. You will encounter quick skirmishes, where wise unit's cooperation is essential. You will visit distant lands either as a honorable knight or an evil necromancer. You will conquer cities and destroy ancient evil!

It is a decent turn-based strategy game with some RPG elements. The combat's tactical and focuses on unit management; positioning your units is crucial; the AI is quite smart and aggressive; there is no grid layout, so there's more flexibility to your movement and positioning. It's got 2 distinctive campaigns (humans and undead); there's some storytelling sprinkled throughout the game; the voice acting is OK; the writing is acceptable and even somewhat funny at times; the UI is easy to read. The graphics are dated, but I also find them charming, plus there aren't many animations or sound effects, but I don't think that detracts all that much from the overall experience, as AOF:TUK is a solid tactical game with some challenging encounters and the gameplay is its strongest point.

Most annoying game ever!

Archers never hit, have no health, and no defence. They are useless. Then you run into a scenario where if you don't have a bunch of them, the enemy sappers will slaughter all your troops with no chance to win at all.

Then later on, after restarting the game so you can kill the sappers, you run into enemies that can charm your elite troops and you are forced to slaughter your own best troops.

Don't bother with this ♥♥♥♥♥ game!

It's First Edition Dungeons and Dragons laid out for you, but with a DM who takes no prisoners and gives nothing away. It's a combination of RPG and Wargame in which you can take the glory when everything goes right, but you also get a kicking when it all goes pear-shaped. You can choose to buy the entire package at a suitable discount during a sale, or pick at the individual adventures. Either way, you get a huge amount of simple content that you can return to not too long after your first ragequit because the simplicity demands that you try again.

Uno de los mayores atractivos de este juego es sin duda la estrategia profunda que requiere. Atrévete a pensar que mover una pieza es tan fácil como en el ajedrez, pero pronto aprenderás que cada elección puede significar la diferencia entre la victoria y el total exterminio. Además, la gran variedad de unidades y hechizos que puedes desbloquear hará que cada partida se sienta fresca (si es que sobrevives lo suficiente).

No todo es miel sobre hojuelas en el reino de la inmortalidad, el interfaz del juego parece sacado de los años 90 y definitivamente necesita una pulida. También, los gráficos no son los mejores del mercado, así que si estás esperando un festín visual, mejor baja tus expectativas... hasta el subsuelo. Y bueno, la IA a veces tiene lapsos donde parece más una IA (Inmensamente Absurda) que una verdadera amenaza estratégica.

Overall, I don't recommend it because it frankly isn't worth the price of 25.00 USD: the combat revolves purely around attacking the enemy until they are dead, there are no mechanics that add strategic depth to the game, you are barely able to interact with the environment, and each battle has the same objective and devolves into the same stale war of attrition as you are constantly outnumbered and are forced to play defensively in order to overcome the stacked odds. Beyond the lackluster combat, which is the crux of the game, the graphics, music and voice acting, story, writing, and characters are all very mediocre and completely forgettable while the UI is utterly horrendous and feels extremely amateur.

That being said, the developer does backport all features and updates from the newest iteration of the franchise into all previous games. Although this sounds great at first, many of these features can't be used in the two story campaigns due to the fact that you are forced to play as specific factions which don't have access to many of these features. As such, you are only able to experience some (but not all) of them in the open-world mode because the game uses a lot of hard-coding and a number of them can't be backported which ends up being confusing and makes the game feel like an unfinished project.

Moreover, the developers released [u][url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/832770/Age_of_Fear_The_Undead_King_GOLD/]Age of Fear: The Undead King GOLD[/url][/u] which is an updated version of this game that has much less hard-coding and includes some of the unusable features but its existence begs the question of why this inferior version still exists (and for the same price no less). Furthermore, since each iteration has all features in them then that means that you're basically paying 25.00 USD for two new story campaigns that have 12-16 battles each which seems far too expensive for the amount of unique content that you are getting.

- Some require you to lose specific battles but the story still advances in a unique way;
- Two are downright asinine and require you to find hidden objects on two specific maps. More specifically, you are forced to walk around the map while activating specific spells in order to see if anything targetable appears within their cast range but absolutely no hints are given for them which is even more infuriating;
- Two are seasonal and can only be acquired during certain days of the year unless you change your system clock; and
- One requires you to make a mod and submit it to the Steam Workshop.

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
The gameplay is touted as "deep and complex" but it's frankly completely vacuous and solely involves you mindlessly attacking the enemy until they are dead — it's essentially a race to see who can do damage faster and more efficiently. The objective of each battle is, without fail, to eliminate every single enemy unit and there is no variation to this formula whatsoever such as capturing an objective, killing the leader, surviving for x turns, escorting NPCs, etc. Since you are outnumbered in each battle (as well as outmatched in terms of stats on higher difficulties), you are forced to play defensively and form a wall to protect your frail ranged units while waiting for the enemies to come at you in waves and clump together for your area-of-effect spells.

Now, you might think that playing defensively would involve using, and incentivize you to use, the terrain or environment to your advantage but the maps here are wholly devoid of anything other than plunderable treasure. There is no high ground, cover, or traps to make use of, line-of-sight doesn't even exist, and there are no other mechanics that add tactical depth to the dull gameplay (such as a rock-paper-scissors weapon triangle, natural weaknesses or resistances, or terrain and cover). It really feels like it took wargaming to an extreme level, but removed the aspects of combat that could make it engaging and immersive, and this is further evidenced by the fact that battles eventually become massive endeavours that can take up to 1.5 hours because you are allowed to deploy 15 units while the enemy has 25+ units.

That being said, the game is somewhat addictive because it is fun to watch your units grow stronger with each battle, and the skills and upgraded classes are majorly impactful, but the wargame aspect contradicts this feeling because your units are expected to be expendable. Even worse, the ones who stay alive and gain experience are barely rewarded since you can eventually recruit new soldiers who have more total experience than the ones who have survived since the beginning.

As previously mentioned, the game has two story campaigns with 12-15 battles each and an endless open world mode with procedurally-generated events; however, the same major events will occur in a specific order which means that only the battles and shops are actually procedurally-generated so it won't take you long to see everything that the open-world mode has to offer. Therefore, the game doesn't have much replay value outside of playing with the various factions' units in the open-world mode but even that is tedious since you have to manually level-up each unit to see their full class tree (if they even have one) and complement of skills.

[h3]Graphics[/h3]
The graphics are passable tabletop-style graphics using miniatures for the units. The artwork ranges from low-quality (for backdrops) to good (for units).

[h3]Sound[/h3]
The music is composed of atmospheric sounds that fit the terrain in which the battle is taking place. The game does have voice acting but it's relatively bland with little emotion despite sounding what I imagine would be historically-accurate for medieval times.

[h3]Story[/h3]
The story is a generic "good versus evil" story but the two story campaigns cover both sides of the conflict which is a nice touch. The entire franchise claims to be "full of humour/jokes" but I thought that the humor and banter between the characters was awful and contributed nothing to the game. The characters are also very generic and fit a classic stereotype while never being developed in any meaningful way.

[h3]Miscellaneous[/h3]
The UI is atrocious: the unit management is cumbersome because you have to use a horizontal scroll bar to view your entire army, the shop and your inventory are combined into one which is extremely confusing and makes equipment management a tedious chore, you can only load a save from the main menu (which means that you have to quit out of a game each time you want to reload), and there is a general lack of polish. The game honestly looks and feels very much like an amateur production.

The game also has a full-scale level and campaign editor.

[h3]Conclusion[/h3]
Although I have 77 hours on record, about two-thirds of it was spent playing the open-world mode on auto-pilot while doing something else just to see what it had to offer before I reviewed the game in full and because I wanted to see what some other units were like; however, I still think that the game is extremely rough around the edges, doesn't have much replay value, and definitely isn't worth its base price.

If you are a huge wargaming fan then just get the upgraded version or any of the other games in the series if their two factions and story campaigns interest you more (or wait for this to go on sale for [u][url=https://steamdb.info/app/351480/]80% off at 5.00 USD[/url][/u] if you really want it). Otherwise, stay away from this series altogether.

The story line is the most boring generic story you have ever heard and even know they read it to you, you will find yourself thinking of other things. The controls barely work, I have to click on my guy five times just to get it to highlight him... not worth it.

Age of Fear is a throw back to the glorious retro times of the 1980/90 and brings to mind games such as Lords of Chaos and Warlord. The game has a great story line especially if you use the map that can be found online and has good game play options which help lower the difficulty for less capable players such as Tavis etc.
The campaigns are well balanced and long with good narration throughout and there are two of these campaigns to choose from, one can be played as the Goodly, Sir Knightly Knighterson the good (Who is actually a bit of a ponce ) and the second as the Evil Necromancer, Skinny the Skeletor aka Krill who is very evil but who at one point during the game takes on the appearance of the Tin man of wizard of Oz fame wearing a pair of tin shorts with stick legs which detracts from his image as an evil tyrant . Anyway, Krill and Knightly the ponce are accompanied on their journeys by an array of henchmen and hirelings including skeletons, vampires, Clerics, Men at arms, black Knights and the strangely attractive but very un-scary Neo, who looks especially unassuming in her ghostly white slippers and flowing white gowns but is armed with an array of cutting comments.
Anyway, Age of Fear 2 is a turn-based strategy game with a distinctly retro feel that offers a lot of good ideas with challenging battles and a good story line however is a bit rough around the edges with some horrendous voice acting.

I find it difficult to play this game. There's a lot of dialog which was all pretty pointless and not very interesting, it is dubbed at least. the little combat I got wasn't interesting but I'm sure there's something for someone. the ui is very unintuitive. I find it unlikely if I put more time into this that it would get much better, and it would have to get a lot better.

游戏很好玩，战役还不错，因为能用s/L大法，也似乎不是伪随机，难度就没啥问题。不过一代的非黄金版也就只能玩两条战役。
之前免费的free world玩了很久，想不过买了一代试试看，感觉价格打折了也算不上便宜，或者说，比较贵。

建议对这个游戏产生兴趣的朋友先玩玩free world，反正不要钱，对胃口再考虑要不要买正式的（毕竟这价格这产品，也就搁二十世纪末还算合理）。

最后吐槽一下，这么简陋的游戏动辄几个G，你这是在里面埋了数不清的木马吗

Плюсы:
1)механика похожа на x com 2 ,так же есть ваш ход ,где вы совершаете действиями всеми своими юнитами ,а есть ход противника где он совершает действия всеми своими юнитами(инициатива отсутствует ,в некоторых подобных играх ее вставляют у кого она она больше тот юнит и первее ходит.Здесь этого нет)Так же как и в x com ,здесь вы увидите 90% попадания,но будет miss)Шанс попадания зависит от разницы между показателем атаку у атакующего юнита и показателем защиты у защищающегося...за исключением скелетов у них резист к дальним атакам(довольно реалистично против лучников,но против камней троллей и магической стрелы магов...это чутка перебор),стальной голем имеет резист к атакам ближнего боя шанс попасть по нему в ближнем бою 10% и так далее.Нежить не уязвима к ядам,имеет +2 к сопротивлению холоду и -2 против огня(выглядит довольно реалистично,только призраки правда не имеют резиста к рукопашной атаке)).
2)Стиль и графика напоминают настолку,да это очень похоже на настольную игру
3)Иногда напоминает гвинг из Ведьмака 3 -ставим бойцов ближнего боя в передную линию ,лучников за ними,за лучниками осадные орудия

Truthfully, Age of Fear in general has a bit of a dated, clunky feel to it, which I'm aware it is a turnoff for many people. I'm not one of those people however, and I'm sure there are many of you out there that can also overcome the lack of modern day luxuries, because this game has a lot of depth to it in terms of gameplay and freedom for your experimentation, and improving your strategic skills.

With that out of the way, and granted that "old type games" don't scare you away, Age of Fear is a very solid experience. It certainly had a bit of getting used to in the beginning for me, which gave me some frustrations, but once that period passed, I had nothing but fun, on the higher difficulty settings in particular, the game becomes a real brain-teaser, your strategic mind and thinking are going to make the biggest impacts on how battles play out. A little shift in your tactics, planning or approach can mean the world. And you're definitely not short on options on what you can try.

If it didn't have the suspenseful dice-throwing type of hit-chance of tabletop RPGs, this could almost be a puzzle game, but with it, it's a whole experience similar to XCOM and the likes, where you can calculate and evaluate your order of actions based on percentages and positioning, making backup plans for when your 'throw' fails and so on.

Take note however, that I'm talking about this game's this specific edition, which is quite a bit different from the GOLD edition. The GOLD edition has more content, more options, with an almost entirely different, sandboxy-RPG feel, similar to the other main titles of the series, as when updates come out, all the older games also receive the uplifts, balance changes, and new features. The other games are definitely more casual player friendly than this one.

You may consider this the "Legacy" Age of Fear, which while it contains the fundamental updates of the years, it does not contain the world map, and it's sandbox-y convenience. Not to say that it's a bad thing, if you want that, go get GOLD, but this game too has it's place on the store. This is more of a hardcore experience, as with the linearity comes the careful management of your resources, the permanence of your decisions regarding to specializing your units, or your units in general. It's much more of a tense setting for the game, which it fits very well to be honest, no wonder, this used to be the original way the game was played from what I know.
This game has more inherent challenge to it than the others, and I had a thrill playing it on the hardest difficulty. On that note, higher difficulty doesn't mean the enemy gets arbitrary number boosts, but the AI gets considerably smarter, and the things it performs left my jaw hanging a bit from time to time, as well as enemy units getting more advanced just like your own units, gaining special strengths that you need to work around with your brain.

Overall, I love this game, along with the other titles. If you're looking for a little lighter experience, I recommend checking out the other ones first, but if want an oldschool, engaging challenge in the wonderful world of Age of Fear, definitely give this one a try.
On another thought, Age of Fear is a passion project, there's plenty of heart in it, easily apparent by how engaging the developer is with it's community and well being, and how they make sure that bugs are fixed, and features are added across all games all the way to the first one each time a patch rolls out to this day.

Is it worth the full price tag? When it comes to games, I'm usually difficult to convince that the game is worth it's cost, but in this case.. Yes. I've had more than enough fun and engagement to justify it, but even past that, the team behind the game is worth supporting with every penny.

So far I've played one and two and they are FUN. Really story based and if you have a lore for fantasy get this game. It's not your Skyrim but it's a step in a completely opposite direction...which is why I'm recommending it. Step out of your FPS zone and try this turn-based game.

Really I'd have to say this game is in between a yes and a no.
Out of the whole series I've only played this and Age of Fear: The Free World. I would recommend sticking with The Free World, which is free and contains all of the most impressive parts of this game (that is to say all of the combat) along with all of the different factions and a much more interesting experience which, unlike this one, actually allows the player some semblance of choice. The only thing this game really has over the Free World is it's writing and structured campaign. The former is riddled with noticeable grammatical errors and doesn't have much to set it apart, unfortunately. The characters are a little boring and fit classic archetypes. More often than not the dialogues are irritating, meaningless blurbs to click through each time they pop up, though occasionally they do give the game some fun texture and make your actions feel more meaningful. If the writing were better I would have enjoyed the world and grounding much more. As for the structure of the campaign, I felt like the plot points didn't really come to very meaningful ends. The combat system is much better than all of that, and it's where the game can shine. The system is overly simplistic in a few areas and can be somewhat slow due to the fact that each unit only does 1 damage by default and it's possible to miss hits a lot when facing superior enemy units. Still, there are many abilities and items that change the rules and make the combat dynamic and interesting, provided you know the games systems well enough to use them properly, especially when fighting as the undead. Overall I'd say that though the series has some impressive and unique combat (I'm especially fond of the good AI), these little story packs have little to add to that. I would recommend The Free World for the combat, and this only if you want to support the devs in continuing to develop the combat system and factions. 20 dollars is usually too much, otherwise (though as the dev has pointed out the game is cheaper than that on sale, about $5). I personally can't help but feel like they should have just combined all of the titles in the series to make a bigger, fully fledged game.

有尼克罗曼萨篇和夜间篇两个剧本。

此次主要，成为necromanser篇的内容。

主人公成为尼克罗曼人，首先打倒敌人，

将尸体变为骷髅，然后将其培育成班级，

单位不够就雇佣，必要项目就买，

然后又，向下一场战斗・・・这种正统的回合制斯特拉基游戏。

个人来说，培养要素很有趣。

每个单元都有三个等级

(常规-老手-精英)

因为提高等级的话地位上升，记的技能也增加，如果很好地培育能制作相当强的单元。

如果再做班级交换，弱单元也成为能使用的单元。

全部是英语,不过，我想系统质朴玩儿自己没有问题，

有稍微音量不足感,不过，我想如果考虑4种难易度选择也有可能2故事不坏。

同时，音乐也以寂寥感溢出的感觉，相合着。

反过来夜间篇的音乐成为明亮的感觉，那个附近也感到有趣。

因为经常打折，到时候也一次。

这是想要拿在手上玩的游戏之一。

Bonjour,

le jeu est plutôt intéressant. En un sens, il me rappelle un peu Westnoth, l'aspect hexagonal en moins, et une paramétrisation et une customisation des unités beaucoup plus étendue. Je n'ai pas testé l'aspect Mod via la steamforge car je suis plus joueur que créateur, mais si c'est du niveau d'un Warlord III, ça doit être plutôt bien.

Il est fait état d'un IA plutôt performante dans les difficultés les plus élevées. Je ne sais pas trop exactement à quel point, mais je suppose qu'elle doit éviter un simple rush en avant des unités ? Dans tous les cas, comme dans beaucoup d'autres jeux de stratégie, c'est surtout la quantité d'adversaires qui jouent, de mon point de vue, sur la difficulté, tout comme "l'apparition soudaine" d'unités (c'est un peu de la feignantise scénaristique à mon sens, mais bref) . Ainsi que ce satané GNA, qui vous fait plus de séries d'échecs à 70/80% que de séries de réussites à 20/30% (encore un point qui le rapproche de Westnoth...). Ce qui peut parfois rendre les choses un peu frustrantes, surtout si ça arrive en fin de bataille.

Sur les autres points : la musique s'accorde bien avec le thème général, les narrations ne sont pas trop mauvaises (un petit manque d'acting, peut-être ? A la limite, un peu d'exagération dans certains rôles ne seraient pas de refus, surtout que le jeu prétend à contenir un peu d'humour). La campagne humaine est relativement banale, mais consistante dans son histoire. J'essaierai celle des morts plus tard.

Bref, le jeu est recommandable pour passer un moment intéressant, si vous n'êtes pas quelqu'un avec les nerfs trop à fleur de peau.

Overall a good game, feels somewhat harder, than AoF2, due to absence of optional fights
Can't normally play it though, game simply never loads third battle in "Rise of The Necromancer" company and 13 battle in "The tale of Sir Edward" company.
Also, game is quite overpriced for it's poor stability (at least on windows)
Better take it with a good discount so you won't be much dissapointed when game will refuse to start/load

This is a turn based, RPG, strategy game that reminds me a lot to warhammer because units can move as with a rule instead of hexes or squares.
The features two campaigns: humans and undead. Each faction has their own good and funny story and conversations. The battles are separated by story pieces, so after each battle you will have some text to read/listen, or you can just skip it if you just want to fight. The upcoming gold version will feature open world as well as story with some other additions so it might be worth getting the other version.
The humans are a faction with a lot of versatility, they have powerful defensive units as well as cavalry and mages, while undead have the necromancer unit which provides a unique game-play, and some cool secrets.
Every unit earn experience points that can be used acquire upgrades and new skills, while heroes can also equip items (You can enable items for all units, tough). The heroes allow you to get other faction units for your army, so you can get very innovative armies.
There are some options to be made and a lot of hidden units and levels, so it has some replayability, aside from different difficulties.
It is a good game with a start and an end, which can sometimes be good because you won’t be saving all your money “to later".

TLDR: Often updated and well designed miniatures combat that is hindered by a low quality audiovisuals and spritework as well as a sometimes lacking lore and medieval setting.

This is a hero+party game with a lot of boards and a lot of encounters. There are a lot of alternatives out there. I recommend playing King's Bounty series or playing one of the RTS variants such as Age of Wonders. Age of Fear has a not so chilvarous knight, some barebones sprites with little to no animation and often I would give orders to units while I was trying to pan the screen around. The game also updates a little too often to my tastes, often cluttering up my download queue.

This is a very good game.

It is full of variety and detail, with all kinds of classes, weapons, armor, spells, elements, potions and environments, along with combat mechanics that perfectly accommodate all of them.
You are often outnumbered by stronger enemies and it is very satisfying to beat the odds by coming up with the right strategy.
The necromancer campaign is specially fun. Every time you kill an enemy, you get a new soldier for your army. The trailer does not lie about that.
The damage mechanic is pretty unique: almost every attack does 1 damage, while defense and attack stats only affect hit chance. You may love it or hate it.

Of course, not everything is perfect. But the game gets updated very often, and the developers are clearly very passionate about their game. Chances are any issues the game has now will be patched by next week. And you really can't put a price on that.

I remember getting this game ages ago, playing throught it, and then it falling by the wayside. Though, having installed it again and playing through it I can honestly say it has aged amazingly well! The story is... In my opinion, lackluster at best though I found the Necromancer story to be both my favorite and also the weaker of the two stories by the end. Still the gameplay is great and is really in a niche of its own as I have never found a game similar to it that I enjoyed as much as AoF. I highly recommend you give it a try and if nothing else you can try "Age of Fear: The Free World" for free to see if you might be interested in the other titles!

Age of Fear is a fun computerised style miniatures game which plays smoothly and keeps track of hps, spell effects etc that if played on a tabletop would be a bit overwhelming. It's the perfect system to be computerised. AI is decent and provides a fun challenge.

The best part of the game for me was most scenarios have you vastly outnumbered and therefore feel overwhelming (and fill the player with a sense of fear). But, when beaten gives a satisfied feeling. I suggest starting with the human campaign. The undead campaign offers a much different feel. Instead of loyal troops, you constantly raise new ones from the dead, so your army will be much more fluid. I also found the undead more fun to play.

I'm looking forward to trying the next games in this series.

One gripe would be the "downtime" readying your army. It would be good to have an option to "equip all troops with healing potions" or some such command, which would take a little of the micro-management out of this part of the game.

There are places to polish the game and improve UX, but a gameplay is very nice. I like the party upgrade and wounds system (especially when my units get upgrades and enemy units get wounds).

The game also has a wonderful support from the developer.

[h1]Tabletop like Strategygame, combined with Roleplaying elements.[/h1]

Back in the eighties there was a tabletop game, that held a lot of people in it's grasp. It was the game Warhammer, not the roleplaying game but the tabletop... you build armies with miniatures and let them fight it out - the rules were easy and you could do a lot with a couple of miniatures that made up your army - it was long before the warhammer franchise became the raging success it should be. And not only in some way this game reminds me on those times.

The developer did everything that could be possible to catch this time, where you needed overlays to look if a spell had a sufficient effect, or if the power of a certain weapon (or one rune) could be triggered by the next attack - the result is a fun game, that combines Roleplaying, Strategy and well done storytelling. Yes, the game can be unforgiving - especially if you make tactical or strategical mistakes (like retiring troops into the healers tent, or spreading out your resources instead of specialising them). The more you play, the more will the two campaigns included in this game capture you with their story, which is full of old time tropes that remind me of Pip and Merlin (an old adventure book series from that time).

The game follows a certain path (the campaign) and your decissions reward or punish the outcome of your battles, you can find a lot of loot, or you might find nothing at all (especially the lazy or sloppy players), the game is casual enough to be still rewarding, and yet it's hardcore enough to challenge your wits (especially in the Bloodseeker Mode).

Yes, it might not be Skyrim, nor it's a Warhammer Total War, or 40k Title, but this game has a charm that makes it an almost perfect match for everyone who is a tabletop or roleplaying afficinado, people who like easy games should better give it a wide berth, because you won't find those here... It's almost as old school, as old school can go, without the headache of trying to set up a dos-box, or finding legacy emulators to play Dark Crystal on a ZX-Spectrum.

Imaginary conversation between lover of old fantasy/RPG/strategy games like Fantasy General, Might&Magic series, and a would-be game developer.
'Look, can you make a game we would like?'
'OK, what do you like about the past games you had?'
*Sighs and gives a long list*
'That just fine. How about adding a few of our ideas?'
And this is the point where most games fail. This time however the result is great.

Pros:
- unit development (quantity and quality of options) is simply the best feature of the game
- battles (hex-free system is OK, UI is comfortable
- artwork (this is subjective, I liked it)
- humor
- lots of options for gameplay. You can play as the devs wanted, but can make it like you want as well
Cons:
- sounds could be more polished
- graphics are OK, but nothing spectacular. Now, if you are looking at this game, this is probably not an issue.
- zoom is gradual (this is a conveniance issue really)

Thumbs up, got me hooked.

The game is simple to learn, but can be extremely difficult on higher difficulty settings, which is something that I look for in a game. The main thing I love is how active the developer is in the community even though they have already made multiple sequels. You'd have expected them to have just abandoned support for the first of the series by this point, but they haven't. If you're looking for a TBS with a fantasy setting, I'd recommend giving this a try.

I liked playing Age of Fear, so it's a full recommendation from me. I played the knight's campain and will soon try out the other side as well.

Pros:

+ Easy game mechanics
+ Quite good combat system with many features
+ Good balance, difficulty is increasing
+ Many funny elements
+ There is a real leveling system
+ Developers really support ths game

Cons:

+ Graphic's not the best (I didn't mind at all)
+ Sometimes it's a little bit too much to read
+ Mages seem to be slightly too powerful (game gets a lot easier with them)
