Completely unabashed in its cheesy sword and sorcery inspirations. The combat is wonky but fun and visceral. It's more than a little buggy, beware.

the two character models looks and move fantastic, story looked promising, sound effects are meh but ok. the movement and control suck. i have to keep starting over because of the spikes dude to the damn input lag. wtf! i won't down vote it over this but this is really frustrating.

I haven't experienced such positive emotions from a game in a long time! It's simply amazing! From the very first minutes, I was drawn into the atmosphere of the 80s and 90s, immediately recalling films about Conan and Red Sonja. The game's creator has captured EXACTLY that old-time fantasy atmosphere beautifully. If you enjoy the aesthetics of ancient worlds, mysteries, secrets, battles, blood, and charmingly sexy characters, then I highly recommend this game. Again, I haven't experienced such joy and emotion from buying a game in a long time.

의외로 꽤 재미있음, 보스들도 알차고 고전 도스시절 페르시아왕자 느낌도 나고 좋았음.
물론 엄청 짜임새있는 A급 벨트스크롤 게임 그런거 아님, 약간 쌈마이하고 음 나름 재밌음.

Game constantly crashes. Especially when you are in the middle of a level. All current progress is lost and you have to start back on the main menu from the last autosave which means you have to do the level all over again.
Tried all recommended fixes and the game still crashes. Can't complete the jungle level without it crashing in the middle. I really like this game but am quite frustrated. I thought about starting over and trying a new game but am just calling it quits. Wasted so many hours already on a broken game. Uninstalling and moving on. As far as the Chronicles game upcoming, forget it. Deleting from wish list. 0 out of 10!!!
Age of Barbarian Extended Cut é um jogo de ação 2D que transborda personalidade e nostalgia, trazendo uma estética retrô Dark Fantasy fortemente inspirada em obras clássicas dos anos 80 como Conan, Heavy Metal e o gênero espada e feitiçaria em geral.
Um dos grandes destaques é o visual diferenciado, que mistura personagens em pixel art com cenários em 3D exibidos em gameplay 2D, criando um efeito de profundidade muito interessante. Essa combinação dá ao jogo uma identidade própria e reforça a ambientação sombria, brutal e estilizada.
Os personagens são carismáticos, com destaque absoluto para a protagonista feminina, uma verdadeira princesa bárbara, forte, imponente e muito bem construída, fugindo do padrão comum do gênero.
A gameplay em 2D é extremamente satisfatória, com combates rápidos, pesados e responsivos. Cada golpe tem impacto, e o jogo recompensa quem aprende o ritmo das batalhas e explora bem as mecânicas.
O jogo é claramente 18+, com violência intensa, visceral e presença de nudez, tudo integrado ao contexto do universo dark fantasy, sem parecer gratuito.
O principal ponto negativo fica por conta da ausência de um mapa nas fases. Como muitas delas são labirínticas, isso acaba exigindo repetição e pode se tornar cansativo quando o jogador se perde com frequência.
No geral, Age of Barbarian Extended Cut é uma excelente escolha para fãs de ação retrô, dark fantasy e jogos que não têm medo de assumir um tom adulto e brutal. Um título com identidade forte, personalidade e muito respeito às inspirações que carrega.

The Chronicles of War:
The vast armies of Mytos K'unn, marshalled by a sorceress of great power known as Zyrashana the Witch-Queen, had been cutting a swath through the Eastern Kingdoms since high summer the preceding year. Empowering her troops with great sorceries, she had seen all opposition fall before the ravening swords of her forces since the first bloody campaign; the invasion of the ancient and noble realm of Delania. The aftermath of the final battle had seen the systematic slaughter of the Delanian royal family, and the torture and execution of all those who had been loyal to their banner. During the ensuing months, more kingdoms and satrapies toppled before the might of Zyrashana's legions, commanded by the fearsome and unswervingly loyal battle-lord Talus Ebonfyre, a man of sublime brutality whom many beleived to be possessed by a demon-spirit from the dark realms. Emboldened by their victories and the expansion of their queen's dark dominion, the hordes of Mytos K'unn began the incursion into the lands of the Northern Tribes, beginning with the grim and brooding territories south of the Snow Kingdoms... the rugged homelands of the warlike clans which had been recently united into a strong realm by the powerful warrior-king Caylen-Tor, a man known to his allies and enemies alike as the Wolf of the North. Thinking the barbaric tribesmen little threat, the Witch-Queen intends a largely unopposed march throught their lands to strike at the wealthy and fertile realms beyond the Mountain Kingdoms to the west... but Caylen-Tor has vowed that a searing torrent of blood and steel shall meet all those who deign to enter unwelcome or drive their standard unbidden into his land...
As grim winter slowly yields to spring, the armies of Mytos K'unn begin their march northwards, and news of the advance of the Witch-Queen's forces into Blackhelm Vale, the valley known for centuries as the Gate to the Northlands, soon reaches the highland stronghold of Caylen-Tor. Grimly taking up his sword and spear and donning the woad of war, he vows that Zyrashana shall pay in blood for every league she has dared venture in his sacred lands. Scouts soon return with the information that the enemy is camped at the base of the valley, preparing to march with th dawn. The court shamans forsee rivers of blood and untold carnage, and great battlespells are woven as Caylen-Tor leads his vastly outnumbered Northlander warriors to the misty, moon-swathed expanse that is Blackhelm Vale. My spear hammers into the chest of a warrior, and bright blood erupts from his lips as he falls to the heather. I turn aside a vicious swordthrust and my own blade snakes out to cleave the neck of the attacker, shearing through his veins in a shower of dark red. An enemy blade opens my shoulder to the bone, but I sweep my axe out in a deadly arc, its iron head rending armour and biting deep into flesh. Talus Ebonfyre's abdomen yawns open and he staggers back as his intestines spew forth in a pulsing mass. I sunder his head with another blow as he falls and his skull yields to spill its steaming contents to the earth. As I watch, a writhing, shadowy form rises from the smitten corpse of the Witch-Queen's warlord and flees howling into the night... I vault to the saddle of a riderless black war-horse and seize the banner of Mytos-K'unn... for every one of us that has fallen, we have taken five of the enemy screaming with us... the battle is ours!

Прикольная винтажная игрушка, вдохновлённая похождениями одного известного киммерийца. А так же серией игр Golden Axe. Причём автор так сильно вдохновился, что это буквально Конана Варвар с минимальными изменениями, чтобы правообладатели не взяли за булочки.
Незамысловатая боёвка, но довольно сочная. Полная расчленёнка, кровища льётся вёдрами, врагам можно отрубать головы, руки, ноги, прочие члены(если вы понимаете о чём я :), выпускать кишки, разрубать надвое. Тут прям всё в духе 80, 90-ых. Так же и с героями. Мужики максимально брутальны и мускулисты, девушки максимально стройны и раздеты, абсолютно все максимально пафосные)
Одним словом атмосфера удалась. Ты реально ощущаешь себя на страницах произведений Роберта Ирвина Говарда, если кто читал, тот поймёт, вайб тот же самый. Хоть варвара и зовут по другому, ты его воспринимаешь тем самым Конаном. Хоть это и другой мир, ты видишь в нём ту самую Хайборийскую Эру. А многие монстры так и вообще скопированы без изменений.
Итак, всем кто обожает приключения Конана, рекомендую к ознакомлению. Таких игр сейчас мало.

Я имею ввиду одно странное решение разработчика, из за которого я испытал такую фрустрацию, что первым желанием было влепить игре минус. Но потом я почитал обсуждения, полистал форумы, и понял, что был необъективен, есть немалое количество извращенцев, которым это решение очень даже зашло. Они активно обсуждают эту тему, обшаривают игру вдоль и поперёк, делятся знаниями и секретами. А раз многим людям нравится, то имеем дело с чистой вкусовщиной. Поэтому игре я оставляю плюс, но причину моего негодования упомяну.

Я о концовке. Мало того, что финальный уровень крайне душный, с постоянно возрождающимися врагами, вроде скелетов или зомби(зачем???), он вдобавок напичкан ловушками, которые из за местного корявого управления становятся боль в моя дырка задница. Так ещё и победив крайне нечестного финального босса, да, да, нечестного, он делает вещи, которые благодаря местному управлению становятся практически абузом механик, но не о том речь, итак, победив финального босса, ты узнаешь, тра-та-та-та-та, барабанная дробь, что ты не победил! Его буквально спасает ведьма, а вам прям в открытую в титрах пишут, что все ваши мучения были зря. Начинай сначала. Ещё бы фак с экрана показали, ну для полноты ощущений.

Вот и мне стало интересно. Я полез гуглить. Оказывается, наш разработчик решил не только сделать мясную аркаду, аля слешер, он ещё решил замахнуться на метроидванию и сделал секретики.
Дело в том, что на уровнях тебе периодически попадались девушки-заложницы, и их, внезапно, нужно было обязательно спасать, а для этого тебе нужно было полностью исследовать эти локации, на 100%.
А в чём проблема знаете?
А в том, что тебе абсолютно неинтересно исследовать местные уровни, они собраны из совершенно одинаковых ассетов и каждая комната ничем не отличается от предыдущей. В этой игре интересно только шинковать врагов)
Ну да ладно, продолжим.
И вот если вы спасли всех трёх девушек, то вам откроется секретная дверь за которой будет ведьма, вы сможете её убить и в конце она не сможет помочь финальному боссу.
И тогда у вас будет истинное кумитэ с боссом, он даже получит вторую фазу с превращением в демона и вот тогда то вы получите нормальную концовку.
Думаю не нужно говорить, что когда я понял, что мне надо всё это перепроходить, да ещё обшаривать каждый унылый уровень на 100%, я сгорел.
[u]Вот и вы для себя решите - хотите ли вы обшаривать каждый уровень, чтоб выйти на истинную концовку. Или вам, как и мне, хватит просто порубить врагов на части, получить так себе конец и успокоится. Или, возможно, вы вобще решите пройти мимо этого продукта.[/u]

A very fun game. The art style has a lot of character and had me playing just to see the next level, the next boss, the next trap, and the progression of the story. The controls are a little stiff, which adds to the challenge. For those who have played Sword of Sodan, this plays similar. Crian Soft has a collection of interesting games. This one has been one of my favorites, and I look forward to more sequels.

Love the theme behind the game but there is a game breaking bug where game takes too long too load in each video, and screen transition. I'm talking about 45 + second loading screens starting from launch which also makes the game more likely to crash. This is on a SSD which I run modern games from with no issues. I've read through the 40 pages of bugs in the game forum and there is no fix.

as barbarian as it gets
Game has a "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" level feeling of jank... but it's actually pretty fun
ok lemme be real. i specifically was looking for a gooning action game and stumbled upon this not thinking much. i was incredibly impressed by the gameplay here. it feels nostalgic but at the same time not. it feels familiar but has a learning curve. i'm blown away quite honestly. its got janky moments but all in all i'm loving every bit of it. got it on sale but absolutely would've paid full price for it.
This game is awesome! It is much better than AOB Arena, as it doesn't crash every time you try to play for 5 minutes (but it does crash sometimes). This is a game version of the 80's barbarian aesthetic like Conan mashed up with Frank Frazetta. The detail that is put into the animations and carnage will quickly make you forgive the fact that the majority of the game's characters looks like straight digitized Daz 3D models from the mid 2010's. It's great to play through multiple times to try to find all the little secrets tucked inside. Highly recommended!
I really love that exist. That a small team would follow their passions/fetishes for what is now a less popular genre to make their ultimate gooner game. I'm not immune to the pleasures of barbarian media, I picked Sheyna, and consider Conan The Barbarian among my favorite films. Age of Barbarian definitely leans in to the T&A and brutality of the genre while riding the camp line the perfect amount. It's sincere, I love that it is, but I didn't love playing this.
Exploration is a nightmare in this game. I do like the look of this, some nice environments and the models are clean with stiff animations that give me the impression, not that I think it was their intention, that they are action figures. However you'll see the same hallways at lot in each stage, often entering doors to other identical hallways fighting the same foes that respawn often enough to confuse you. That's if you don't run over a annoyingly place insta kill trap and being respawned to the start of the maze. These levels aren't really as long as they seem (I admit to have subpar navigational skills) but I got lost so much that they stretched into tedium. It didn't help that the combat is really basic, really mashy. You have a few strings you can do by mixing low and high attacks, as well as a generous parry but enemies will either stand there awaiting death or block you stopping any string. You fight everyone who isn't a boss the same way, the charm wears off quickly. Bosses are best described as rough puzzles. They all have jank hitboxes pushing you down and around just for standing too near and sometimes they just kill you instantly. Once you figure out their pattern they are easy to loop and it always feel broken, like you've slipped inside their hitbox or the animation is bugged. It looks weird and feels worse to play.
I don't have a lot of patience with games, but I did 100% this. I can't recommend most people do that. Not that it's too long or too much of a commitment but it's charms don't outweigh it's underbaked ideas (what does hunger do?) and dull combat. I just have a problem where I'm compelled to finish every game I start, don't be like me.

"Age of Barbarian" is a classic swords and sorcery tale with the dna of "Conan the Barbarian" (sexy nubile women and muscular savage men). The game play is a 2D side-scroller with beat em up and rpg elements. Its mostly action based with a few fetch and puzzle elements that aren't complicated at all.
The game features unlockable moves, a basic leveling system, collectible consumable items and a simple map where you can rest at a campfire (choice of bad or good event happening) and revisit previously cleared boards to grind for experience.
You will also find controller support here, and believe me, you are gonna wanna use it, lol.
I love the art style and even though its clunky and simple, almost as if much of the game play was ham-fisted into a system that it was not built for, I still enjoyed my time with it.
There are achievements, some that are easy, some harder to get, but I haven't come across anything too unfair.
The title does have somewhat clunky controls that occasionaly leads to your death even when you know what your doing (running and/or turning around when you just want to back up) and a simple combat that works despite itself. Blocking, combos, jumping and even jump attacks.
Much like an old adventure title, there are multiple and brutal ways to die if you don't watch your step or are killed in a particular manner. It was fun finding as many as I could, which you may need to go out of your way for since the game is not very hard.
What the game lacks is polish, but that shouldn't stop you. What's here is a real treat, dripping with atmosphere, good relevant music and charm.
Just don't expect a triple a experience or fluid in-depth combat. The game is not short but you stop learning moves fairly early on, especially if you grind at all.
I feel the game does just fine without polish though I would of been much happier with more sex (it has more than enough violence 😂) and some more skills or moves to learn.
Recommended though a bit disappointing.

A ver, es un juego indie, bastante limitado y algo tosco... pero tiene los suficientes atractivos para que los aficionados a la fantasía de los años 80 y los juegos de acción lateral se queden mas o menos satisfechos.
O casi.
Es evidente que el juego es un claro homenaje a cierto tipo de fantasía y cierto tipo de personajes, la influencia del Conan de Robert E. Howard y sus diferentes adaptaciones, tanto en cine como en cómic, es mas que evidente y si esos son tus gustos entonces es muy probable que puedas disfrutar con este [i]Age of Barbarian[/i] y dejar a un lado las muchas limitaciones que tiene.
La historia es tan sencilla como su desarrollo. Una historia de venganza que llevara a nuestro protagonista, se puede elegir entre bárbaro y bárbara, a a sembrar de sangre y destrucción los pocos niveles de los que consta el juego. Unos niveles en los que nos moveremos lateralmente y en los que nos limitaremos a dar mandobles, activar alguna que otra palanca y descubrir algunos pocos secretos.
El sistema de combate es tosco y limitado, al igual que los movimientos y las acciones que podemos hacer. Quitando un par de enfrentamientos con los jefes finales, no supone gran dificultad y es que en ese sentido estamos ante un título poco exigente con el jugador. Los niveles son cortos, fáciles y de nada que ves la simpleza con la que se comportan los enemigos en nada te haces con ellos.
Si uno quiere ser completista, la aventura te permite rejugar las veces que haga falta cada nivel porque con frecuencia hay más de un camino posible para rescatar a alguna moza ligera de ropa o conseguir algún objeto especial, pero más allá de alargar la duración del juego no es que cambien mucho la cosa.
Y es que, si dejamos la ambientación aparte y puede que cierta nostalgia y la complicidad necesaria por parte del jugador, estamos ante un título que sería del montón y totalmente prescindible.
Hay muchísimos juegos de acción lateral que son mejores y están más trabajados.
Eso si, el modelaje de los personajes es más que aceptable y se agradece el tono desenfadado, el sentido del humor y el baño de sangre presentes a lo largo de todo el juego.

En resumidas cuentas es un juego RECOMENDABLE casi exclusivamente a los amantes de las barbaridades varias, los tipos en taparrabos y los seguidores de Conan. Estos tendrán su dosis de sangre, chicas ligeras de ropa y bichos a los que descuartizar asegurados.
MANTENERSE BIEN LEJOS el resto de jugadores con independencia de sus filias y fobias. Es un juego muy de nicho, enfocado a un tipo de jugador muy específico. NO TOCAR NI CON UN PALO los jugadores que sean más exigentes.
Eso sí, a pesar de sus muchas, muchísimas limitaciones, yo me lo he pasado como un enano... cosas de ser un carca nostálgico de este tipo de fantasía, de las pelis casposas de Espada & Brujería de los años 80 y de toda la obra del amigo Robert E. Howard.

In terms of worldbuilding, plot, graphics, and gameplay, it's a very good game. Anyone familiar with Robert E. Howard's work or the film adaptation of Conan will recognize the creators' inspiration. The styling of 1980s and 1990s productions and the attempt to bring the world and characters presented there into the gaming world were exceptional.
In terms of playability, I can only say that, although I'm not a fan of this type of game, I played through the game with both expansions and characters. Perhaps it's a result of sentimentalism, or perhaps the game's well-thought-out design, but the fact is that it refuses to be forgotten or shelved.
Unfortunately, the product suffers from significant technical issues. I encountered no errors until the final boss area. Before completing this area, I installed both DLCs, and the game would kick me back to Windows during loading screens or the final battle. This error completely prevented me from completing the game. I almost abandoned it and demanded a refund for the DLC when I decided to install it on my old laptop (running Windows 8.1). Only thanks to this effort did I manage to finish the main story and play through both DLCs.
Despite these difficulties, I recommend playing with both DLCs, provided you can safely launch them.
As for the DLCs, their storylines are better and more intense than the base game. The Slaves' Fortress is shorter but intense. The Spider God (which is blamed for most of the game's technical issues) is much more complex and developed. Both are very cinematic and intense, like Howard's stories.
I'll probably start the adventure again in an hour or two :D
Game crashes constantly. Devs have abandoned it, so if you download it I wish you luck. It could be a fun game, but in the state it is in I do not recommend.

I really wanted to like this game because the characters are cool and the setting is interesting. However, the controls are so unresponsive and the framerate so inconsistent that the game is frustrating to play. There is no way to tell if a drop is safe or will kill you. Some mechanics needed to progress are not explained, such as kicking a log to make a bridge accessible. Moving between screens will often get you killed by an enemy or by a sudden spike trap. You cannot leave an area after entering it unless you complete it, or run out of lives. This means if you didn't purchase enough supplies to finish an area, you're out of luck. Medical herbs blend in with the background, meaning you often don't see these essential items to pick them up.
If the developer fixed at least some of the serious problems I would be happy to play it again, Until then, I am requesting a refund.
Muszę przyznać, że nie spodziewałem się zagrać w tego typu grę, aż do momentu kiedy z jakiegoś powodu YouTube podrzucił mi kilka filmików. Po tym uznałem, że po kilku większych tytułach można zagrać w coś innego. Dużą rolę odegrała też w tym Sheyna.
Przechodząc do oceny i zaczynają od pozytywów muszę przyznać, że grafika ma swój urok. Po części przypomina stare czasy gier telewizyjnych, ale jednak została dopracowana do bardziej aktualnych standardów. Nie będzie ona porównywalna z dużymi tytułami 3D, ale jak na platformówkę wygląda naprawdę w porządku.
Drugą kwestią na plus jest story gry. Wszystko utrzymane jest w stylu barbarzyńców, niewolników i tym podobnych. Miło tutaj, że historia opowiada historię postaci i (w końcu) nie jest to kolejna z odsłon ratowania całego świata. W tym aspekcie ciekawe jest też to, że z uwagi na właśnie historię i rzeczy jakie musimy wykonać do finalnego rozstrzygnięcia przechodzenie poszczególnych etapów nie będzie jednorazowe, tylko wracamy do wykonanych już map, ale w innej odsłonie.
No i tutaj kolejną rzeczą jest budowa mapy. Niby nie ma tu jakoś bardzo dużo, ale przez ukryte pomieszczenia czy wspomniane wcześniej misje będziemy zwiedzać lokalizacje po kilka razy i za każdym możemy odkryć co innego. Mimo tego, że wyglądają w założeniach podobnie to nie czuć tutaj jakby robiło się jedną mapę tylko w różnych odsłonach tematycznych.
Z neutralnych rzeczy powiedziałbym, że tyczy się to głównie mechaniki rozbijania obozów. Niby fajny dodatek z możliwymi sytuacjami, ale tak na dobrą sprawą poza odnowieniem dodatkowych żyć przy dobrej nocy nie ma nic więcej. Brakuje tutaj, żeby i te negatywne miały jakiś wpływ na rozgrywkę.
Co do negatywów to trzeba zacząć od sterowania. Naprawdę trzeba chwilę pograć, żeby zaczął łapać o co w tym chodzi. Szczególnie kwestia biegania i skakania mogła być lepiej rozwiązana przy początkowej ilości pułapek, które od razu zabijają. Po czasie i przyzwyczajeniu większość rzeczy jest już w porządku - poza wywoływaniem ekwipunku w celu użycia mikstur, zwłaszcza w czasie walki.
Drugą kwestią jest brak wytłumaczenia co jak działa. W kilku momentach musiałem poświęcić dłuższą chwilę, żeby znaleźć na internecie jak używać przedmiotów czy jak przejść poszczególne etapy, gdzie gra nigdzie wcześniej nie pokazała nawet podobnego przykładu rozwiązania interakcji na mapie.
Ostatnim elementem jest ogólna ścieżka dźwiękowa. O ile brak muzyki można jeszcze pominąć, a efekty dźwiękowe walki i reakcji postaci są nie najgorsze, tak kwestie mówione pozostawiają wiele do życzenia. I nie wymagam tutaj czegoś wielkiego, ale to brzmi jakby te kwestie, które mają podkład głosowy były nagrywane przez pierwszą lepszą napotkaną osobę bez większego przygotowania do roli.
Podsumowując grę mogę polecić, ale raczej osobom, którym podobają się takie klimaty. Wątpię czy przypadnie do gustu graczom, którzy za młodu nie mieli styczności z retro tytułami. W mojej opinii gra mimo wszystko zasługuje na 6,5/10.
Just finished the game as Rahaan and got the 101% completion. It was fun and challenging at times. There was no map to look at so I had to remember where I was. I think the first DLC is mentioned near the end. The second which is bigger was also implemented into the base game giving us new bosses to fight. This game bugged at least 5 times, it needs polishing. Overall it was a fun experience and I hope to see thicker girls in the next games of the series.

Quand on parle de Fantasy, nous pensons immédiatement au Seigneur des Anneaux, du moins à l'archétype du monde médiéval, aux chevaliers, à la magie, aux dragons... Cependant, il ne faut pas oublier qu'avant J.R.R. Tolkien, il y a eu Robert E. Howard et son fameux Conan. La Fantasy a bel et bien commencé au milieu des barbares et quoi de mieux pour ça que de nous plonger dans ce jeu stupéfiant qu'est Age of Barbarian, développé par Crian Soft et proposant un retour au source avec un divertissement estampillé Sword and Sorcery. Un retour à l'âge barbare mais également un retour à la période arcade du jeu vidéo, pour un résultat fascinant ; alors ? que penser de ce jeu ?
Nous reprenons avec ce jeu, quitte à aller dans le cliché de ce genre d'aventures, l'essence même de l'histoire du barbare : un héros orphelin, seul survivant à la suite du massacre de son village par une horde de guerriers à la solde du puissant mage, massacre dont va découler la sanglante vengeance du héros ! C'est cliché, certes ! Mais ça fonctionne diablement bien ! Et ceci pour notre plus grand plaisir !
C'est ainsi que l'on part affronter ce mage responsable du massacre des nôtres, rencontrant des personnages hauts-en-couleur et des ennemis redoutables, le tout dans une ambiance plus que violente.
Voilà pour l'histoire, qui demeure somme toute banale ; passons aux personnages !
Nous pouvons contrôler deux personnages : Rahaan, un barbare musclé à outrance avec des attaques puissantes ou Shenya, une barbare très légèrement vêtue, avec une grande agilité pour parer et esquiver les coups ; remplissant, à leur manière, ce qu'on attend de tels personnages au sein d'un univers de Sword and Sorcery. En soi, le choix des personnages n'a pas tant d'importance sinon durant quelques niveaux et pour affronter certains boss, où la stratégie mise en place va différer, ainsi que dans l'utilisation d'armes là où Rahaan manipulera des haches et Shenya des lames fines.
Ce qui nous amène à la technique, et là, c'est un plus gros morceau !
Car le jeu reprend, dans la forme - mais également un peu le fond, l'aspect borne d'arcane : autant l'interface du jeu ou le côté graphique ne dérange pas et sont même les bienvenues, autant la fluidité du jeu semble en prendre un coup... Je veux dire... Nos personnages sont lents : lents à se déplacer, pas forcément prestes quand il faut combattre, et je ne parle pas des esquives qui laissent quelque fois dubitatifs... Alors certes, ces quelques défauts sont contrebalancés grâce à la patte graphique, à cet ambiance vintage des vieux jeux arcades, aux bonnes idées de mises en scène apportés... mais quand même, la "lourdeur" demeure un point qui peut largement faire fuir plus d'un joueur, pour peu que ces derniers ne soient fans ni de ce retour "old school" vidéo-ludique ni du genre "Sword and Sorcery". Néanmoins, force est de constater qu'effectivement, l'on y transpose plutôt bien les éléments que l'on pouvait trouver dans les bornes de jeux, ce qui ajoute au jeu un véritable charme. Et la chose qui ajoute encore plus véritablement du charme à ce jeu de barbares, c'est bien évidemment le côté gore ! On en a pour absolument tous les goût : décapitation, démembrement, émasculation... j'en passe et des meilleurs ; de quoi prouver que l'on a en face de soi un média qui sait nous offrir les parfaits ingrédients pour les aventures de barbares !
Il est cependant à noter que le jeu est jouable avec une manette et que, même si je suis beaucoup plus habitué à jouer à des jeux clavier-souris, il m'a été difficile de ne pas me tromper plusieurs fois avec les touches, notamment lors des scènes de combat de boss où, avec le stress, l'on se goure rapidement de boutons ; des emplacements d'action pas forcément intuitif, mais bon... encore une fois, je suis plutôt un joueur clavier...
Pour la patte graphique, pour en revenir à ce qui a était dit : on puise dans le décor et le graphique des années 80 pour construire le rendu observable en jeu. Nous nous retrouvons face à un jeu convenable, plus que correct graphiquement parlant.
Pour les musiques, aussi surprenamment que pour les autres, nous avons le droit à quelques compositions intéressantes, ce qui ancre davantage notre immersion dans ce monde de violence et de débauche.
Age of Barbarian sait se rendre intéressant, et l'équipe de développement a très bien joué sur ce qui pouvait rendre le jeu vraiment attirant en mettant sur le devant de la scène un sous genre de la Fantasy qui n'a plus autant de prestance depuis de nombreuses années. C'est, en soi, un excellent hommage aux années qui ont vu la naissance du film Conan le Barbare et qui étaient témoin de l'âge d'or des jeux vidéos d'arcade.
C'est un jeu qui ne plaira clairement pas à tout le monde mais qui mérite très franchement d'être essayé pour cette petite nostalgie qu'il véhicule et sait très bien véhiculer ; pour ma part, je le recommande très chaudement !
Si lo mejor de la vida para ti es aplastar enemigos, verles destrozados y oír el lamento de sus mujeres... enhorabuena! Te lo vas a pasar teta con este juegazo.

エロよりもゴア表現が中々エグいので苦手な人は避けた方が良いかも。
ゲーム自体は古き良きアクションですが、難易度は厳しめです。
まあ、値段も安いのでこの画像の雰囲気が好きなら買って損は無いかと。因みに私はジャケ買いしましたw

Its a difficult hack n slash sidescroller with some platforming. Very reminiscient of some old Sega Genesis titles or a few 80s/90s arcade carts.
Its not an easy game but is a rare aesthetic and gaming experience.

What is there to say about Age of Barbarian (Extended Cut)? Well, if you enjoy absurd over-the-top violence and nudity and you don't mind a little jankiness and poor game design, then this is the game for you... maybe.

Very retro 1980's fantasy movie with many nods to Fire and Ice, Frazetta and Conan.
A brutal love letter to 80s sword-and-sorcery, Age of Barbarian Extended Cut nails the retro side-scroller vibe with style. Packed with blood-soaked combat, hidden secrets, beast-riding, and gloriously over-the-top pulp fantasy, it’s a must-play for fans of classic action.
What makes it truly stand out, though, is how completely it knows what it wants to be — and how perfectly it delivers on that vision. There’s no irony here, just raw, unapologetic barbarian fantasy done right. The Frazetta-inspired aesthetic is the cherry on top, bringing that heavy-metal, fire-and-steel energy to every frame.

A nice mix between Golden Axe and Flashback. Nice retro feelings for Sword and Sorcery fans in its most primal form with the taste of 80's games. Exploring the levels completely might take a harder work than it seems.
I am a lifelong Sword & Sorcery fan. I watched Conan the Barbarian when I was 10 and became an instant fan. Savage realms, barbarian anti-heroes, scantily clad wenches, evil wizards, and nameless cosmic horrors of the deep. I live for this stuff. On one hand it makes me incredibly sad that there aren’t more modern games in this kind of setting, partly due to today’s PC nonsense. But on the other hand, I applaud CrianSoft for its completely unapologetic approach to Sword & Sorcery. This is the way I remember it.
You have your choice of two characters with different origin levels. Rahaan is your brutal, muscle bound noble savage, and Shayna is as deadly as she is drop dead f’n sexy. Your quest? To slay the evil wizard of course! Duh! And of course rescue some boobalicious babes along the way.
Yes, the gameplay is a bit clunky and takes some getting used to, but nothing you can’t adapt to. As the saying goes, git gud! The graphics are a slight step above retro, but that’s kinda the point. Levels and enemies provide a legit challenge, but oh is it satisfying to carve your bloody path of carnage across them.
Would I recommend this game? Yes, play this game, then go watch Conan the Barbarian until you have every line memorized, as well as understand every word in your soul. By Crom, go forth and slay barbarian.
So clunky good, feels raw and arcade like, luck is every where and nowhere! like hyboria! difficulty changes per scene, the same map can be easy and then have spots that is NINJA GAIDEN difficult.. lol recommended.. hahahahahaa
Great game, while simple and somewhat jank, once you get used to it, it is a game of epic proportions. Between the retro gfx style and gore, and the babes to rescue. You will experience a conan-like epic that will make you want to 100%. Story was fair in length, long enough to feel satisfied, and then with two different characters to play through, you can do it all over again. One side note in case dev reads is that sometimes (happened on the cliffs level for me) when you kill an enemy on the stairs too close to the edge of the screen, it can block you from moving onto the next frame. I had to quit right before rescuing second maiden on shaina because i was stuck in the room no matter what i did (evade, sprint, attack, etc.) nothing worked. Other than that. its been real swell of a game.
By Crom! I don't know why it took me so long to purchase this game. It is everything you think it is when looking at it in the store page - nothing more, nothing less. Well... maybe a bit more.
The fighting mechanics are deceptively simple, but you can (and will) die in an encounter if you don't use proper strategy, especially in the late-game. Control is exactly what it needs to be and once you have become accustomed to the control scheme, it flows very well.
I won't waste any time repeating everything that has already been said about this game in other reviews, but I will say that if you are even a casual fan of sword & sorcery, high fantasy, and pulp, you owe it to yourself to check this game out. It is a beautiful love-letter to the barbarian tales of our youth all wrapped up in an uncompromising package - complete with half-naked, buxom warrior women, massively muscled heroes, and all manner of evil creatures... from Cro-magnon ape men to vomiting corpses.
If you ever wanted to know what it would be like playing through those old pulp fantasy novels or Saturday afternoon barbarian B-Movies, now you have the opportunity!
Thank you Crian Soft for making an unapologetic homage to my childhood fantasies. At this price, Age of Barbarian (and its DLC) is worth every penny.

Пожалуй поставлю этой игре палец вверх!!! Хотя я много раз пытался её пройти, но терпел неудачу на последней стадии - там где нужно разрубать черепа воинам скелетам. Причина проста - нет никакой подсказки каким приёмом нужно убивать зомби и скелетов. В описании приёма высокого удара, необходимого для разрубания зомби и черепов скелетов, вроде всё просто - необходимо нажать одновременно кнопки верхней и нижней атаки, но есть нюанс. Нужно не просто нажать и отпустить, а именно при одновременном нажатии немного задержать нажатие клавиш, именно тогда происходит высокий удар. Собственно этот приём полезен и при других ситуациях - например, если при выполнении высокого удара нажать ещё и вперёд, то персонаж выполнит мощную атаку с разворота и с шагом вперёд, что бывает очень полезно. И более того на этой комбинации основываются другие полезные приёмы - например удар в прыжке.
После этого сразу весьма возрос интерес к контенту игры. Проблема в том что начиная со второй локации на карте нам нужно спасать девушек рабынь (всего их три - начиная со второй локации) - это нужно чтобы пройти как дополнение Паучий бог ,так и чтобы получить полезные плюшки для персонажа. Но сделать это не так то просто - дело в том что уровни локации построены таким образом, что они имеют как бы два пути: один лёгкий и в конце будет только один босс и девушек Вы не спасёте, другой путь более длинный и с двумя боссами. СОВЕТ - если Вы прошли всю локацию и встретились только с одним боссом, то вы пошли не тем путём и придётся перепроходить заново уровень, хотя это и не обязательно ( например если у вас нет дополнения Паучий бог). Единственно когда важно победить обоих боссов на уровне так это в предпоследней локации - где бессмертный и ведьма Белит. Если этого не сделать, то вы не получите полной концовки.
В общем удачи с прохождение!! Игру оцениваю как 8,5 из десяти.
I really wanted to like it. I love the style, the idea of a gory barbarian slasher sounds so great, but damn, these controls. With the eyes of someone from 2025, I have to say this is unplayable. Terrible reaction time for all actions. I couldn´t even make it past one set of spikes in the first level without dying several times.
I will not invest more time in this, it´s a shame, but really, pretty much the worst controls I have seen in a long long time.
Bought it on sale, will refund it anyway.
The graphics look like someone took clips from a 90's movie and copy pasted them into a game, but the gameplay itself is surprisingly good and engaging.
First of all its a fantastig 80s Conan the Barbarian slasher UNCUT wich is full of brutality, humor and nudity in a Barbarian & Sorcery world.
Now the good and the bad:
The controlls works perfect on STEAMDECK and now the bad not on my PC with Wimdows 11 and highend setup. I bought it before but i retrieved it because there where screenjumps and my Xbox Series X PC Controller don't answered of buttonpushes nor the d-pad or the sticks for movement. With Steamdeck it works perfect. I like to give a medium rating, for the unworking on my PC. Its a typical 80s cheesy, but funny game. I like it but i like also i can play it on my PC before but it didn't. But it won't work with the stick and Keyboard is very clanky. So i play it now on my Steamdeck only. So i gave it a second chance, and iam happy now.
So everybody who ownes a Steamdeck and your'e a 80's Barbarian movie or hack'n slash fan, get it. But best in sellout like me.
Update for PC: I found a fix for the PC with windows 11 and now it works perfect on PC too!!

This is an oddly satisfying game that any fan of the high fantasy genre should try out.
Now, don't get me wrong, this is not a glowing review, but the game knows exactly what it is and it does an amazing job at it. Here are the negatives:
The combat is quite floaty and the hit boxes feel a little arbitrary. The voice acting is like the creator got a few of his non-voice actor friends to read some lines for him. The writing in general is typical high fantasy without much depth or nuance to it.
So why the positive review? Well because put together it still works fantastically! The graphics, while very "flash" based are nice, the levels have good design, the combat is decent in the sense that you can despite my earlier criticism find ways to get better at it. The entire thing feels EXACTLY like one of the side scrollers of the 90s like Altered Beast, Rastan or Gods. Add to that the irreverent bloodshed and nudity and you have a game true to the genre. In a time when all new games are safe and infantilized, this is certainly a breath of fresh air, as gaming was always meant to be. And if any of this offends you, then that's fine, dont play it. It's a game for adults, so let the adults enjoy it.
If anything will ruin your enjoyment of it, it will be the combat, so I wont fault you if you tap out on that account. But I enjoyed it thoroughly as it perfectly scratched the nostalgia itch without pretending it' something profound but rather high-fantasy pure fun.
A lot of negative reviews for this I assume are from disgusting zoomers who've never played Barbarian for C64 Or Rastan for Sega Genesis. "The controls are clunky why double tap why this why that?? Why can't be easy??" STFU...

Une perle rare, au premier abord le jeu parait très clunky et difficile, mais on se laisse prendre par l'ambiance et les multiples secrets cachés dans les différents environnements.
Gráficamente muy atractivo para los que nos hemos criado con ciertos cómics, películas y videojuegos como Barbarian o Golden Axe.
Desarrollo interesante del juego, con sistema de combate en el que dominar la parada es fundamental, pero el control no es lo fino que sería deseable, especialmente para ciertos saltos o evitar trampas.
El pico de dificultad en la fase final se dispara, llegando a quedarse en algunos momentos el juego bloqueado, por lo que a veces nos obliga a abandonar la partida para repetir completo el último nivel, lo cual puede resultar extremadamente tedioso.
Sistema de vidas injusto, ya que el máximo es 4, no sé muy bien por qué, que perjudica al buen jugador, por más vidas (en forma de cráneos) que consiga encontrar y avance sin morir. Así las cosas, al llegar al tedioso último nivel tenemos sólo cuatro oportunidades aunque no hayamos muerto en ninguno de los otros y hayamos conseguido recolectar 7-8 o más cráneos. Injusto e inaceptable.
Tiene todos los elementos para ser uno de mis favoritos, pero esto lo arruina por completo. No sabría si recomendarlo o no al cien por cien, porque es cierto que tiene su encanto, pero al menos que quien lea esta reseña sepa a lo que se enfrenta.

Clunky in the extreme, had to search the internet to find out how to access the menus in-game. Not very fun. Only played for 45 minutes, but no refund because I let it sit for 2 weeks before trying. Avoid unless you like sitting through droningly narrated cutscenes and dying every 3 seconds.
Amazing setting, maybe the best atmosphere I've seen for such genre.
BUT
a big but.
The game is unplayable. Crashes, freezes and game breaking bugs that happen due to seemingly simple optimization issues.
Its been 8 years and it is unbelievable the issues are still there.
Spider Temple - area changes cause crash
Slave Fortress (Return) - 3rd ledge above is unjumpable, and its not possible to leave the area via the entrance
Jungle - hitting Escape causes permanent black screen
Every time I say "ok, let me try another way" the game finds a way of breaking and blocking my path.
Are you kidding me now?
Crian, this game has an amazing potential. Why abandon it like that? Fix it. Show us, that you care and excite us for your next projects.
Jogo de plataforma muito bem feito, puro suco de Conan.
Очень хороший beat'em up. В стилистике мира Конана Варвара. Для всех кому нравится Конан Варвар, Фэнтези, картины Фрэнка Фраззеты, Бориса Валледжо, книги Роберта Говарда, советую эту игру. Интересная, хоть и не без недостатков боевая система. Сначала показалась мне деревянной, но потом привык и освоился. Много крови и расчлененки. Много обнаженных тел, как женских, так и мужских. Отдельно выделил бы, что круто если бы графика была бы не такой страшненькой трехмерной, а красивой двухмерной, в стилистике картин Бориса Валледжо. Но понимаю, что игра все-таки бюджетная, и возможно разработчики бы не потянули такое финансово. Еще игре встречаются баги, пару раз приходилось переигрывать уровни из-за них. Нет русского языка, хотя это и не критично. Вообщем игра понравилась, несмотря на недостатки.

Seems like a nice idea, but it's clunky to play and the controls are slow to respond and the story is slow.
Great game but too difficult to play because of the jumps and traps with limited restart from latest checkpoint. Could have been better if the game allowed easy gameplay to have unlimited restart from checkpoint rather than restart from beginning after 2 or 3 attempts. The control in clunky for running and jump that player fell into ditch or booby trap.
This game perfectly reminds the sword and sorcery/sandals Hollywood movies genre. Agreed that this game crashes often at certain points (In my case the caves where the witch lives) and some of the traps can be really annoying, and gameplay controls can be improved. However, all these issues were nothing before the fun i got while playing this game and i was kind of sad that the game ended.
I completed both Shyena and Rahaan route and both have somewhat different story line, for the game. I am hoping that the developer makes "Age of Barbarian II" so that i can again have the same amount of fun.

コナン・ザ・バーバリアンって昔の映画があって、
まぁ簡単に言えば「筋肉がすべてを解決する」ような映画で、
雰囲気それをそのままゲームにしたような。
ゲームは割としっかりできてて、最後まで即死のスリルがあるので、
けっこう飽きずに楽しめた。
ただ、難易度は高め。攻略サイトも無いから隠し通路とかも全くわかんない。
落とし穴は一生許さない。
This game is hilarious, super horny and actually has fun sword play as you level up/gain new combos. It was on my wish list for about 5 years and I finally picked it up last sale. Worth the sale price for the whole package with the extra DLC levels. The extra game that came with the entire thing, Arena, is just okay. It feels like a less forgiving Mortal Kombat game from back in the day. Will play more after I finish the original game.
A good challenging game, with very nice graphics. Especially convenient to play on Steam Deck. There are some bumps in the controls, but that's okay.
The base game is fun, especially you grew up on Rastan. I'd suggest skipping the DLC called "Slaves' Fortress," in which you're rescuing scantily clad boys and a "developing" young lady. Especially given the sexual nature of the base game, this is HIGHLY NOT OKAY, dig? It's a bridge too far, as they say.
So, to recap, sexually-suggestive action games featuring adults? Right on! But leave it at that.

Age of Barbarian is basically a side scroller in a generic Conan world. The game is comprised of wandering through labyrinthine tunnels, jumping over pits, finding keys and equipment, and most importantly slaying creatures, monsters, and men. Theres lots of boobs and butts too.

We know what we're here for, right? So, does it give it to us? No doubt.
And yet, the question is: at what price? Well, the truth is that I was surprised by both the video (graphics, music, and effects) and the gameplay (fighting and the network of scenarios), although it perhaps feels a bit flimsy.
Even the buttocks move xd! This game reminds me of those that spread by word of mouth.
To the snake, the body, belongs the will. Being free is nothing more than escaping the chains of the body. But the snake, who knows this, will tell you to deny the body, because it feeds on the will. The gods, fortunately, gave us steel.

Good game ruined by janky controls.
I don't know who thought it's a good idea to put "double-tap movement key to dash" in a game that requires precision alignment around instant-death mechanics such as spike traps and pits.
If there was a way to disable the double tap binding and have a dedicated dash/sprint key I would recommend this game, but in the current state it just makes for a frustrating experience.
