For those of us fortunate enough to have purchased this game before it was removed from the Steam store, A Normal Lost Phone was a delight to play. It really scratched the itch for snooping on social media and investigating the lives of others, while also using this to further invest players in Sam's story.

Me regalaron el juego, honestamente lo estuve atrasando meses porque este tipo de puzles no me llama la atención. Hoy decidí darle la oportunidad (acabé usando una guía, pero eso es cosa mía y de mi poca paciencia) y definitivamente fue la mejor hora que me pudo dar este juego.
Es corto, pero te da todo lo necesario para sentir como si el móvil fuera tuyo. Al principio pensé "oh, vamos a descubrir que Sam es gay o algo así", y bueno, al final, incluso si algo de razón tuve, me mantuvo con el nudo en la garganta.
Quizás por ser parte de la comunidad y una persona No binarie con ganas de huir de todo afecta a la visión, lo hace sentir más cercano en lo bueno y en lo malo. Incluso cuando Sam confiesa no alegrarse por Alice, aunque debería hacerlo, un gesto que creo que más de uno vivió en algún momento. El juego no es un "omg viva la comunidad LGBT todo bonito, yipi", es la realidad de tener que huir, el miedo de no saber ni quien eres o quien puedes llegar a ser. Cada mensaje te hace sentir algo, cada correo, cada canción...
Es una vida normal para aquellos que no pueden vivirla.

I really enjoyed A Normal Lost Phone, some puzzles were difficult for me but the character arc of the person who owned the phone was really interesting, I couldn't stop playing until the credits came and I loved the ending! I feel fortunate that I was able to play the game but honestly i'm sad that the studio closed with the games being taken down from steam, really wish more people could play it. accidental queens hope u are ok icons <3 <3

Not a game you'd replay though, and doesn't look like it's on sale at the moment, but I wouldn't pay a lot for it - if anything - just as it's not my usual genre of game - but if you're into story rich and casual, it's decent I guess
This is a very short game where you have to read a lot. It is a queer story that I personally found interesting as I learned more about the LGBTQIA+ Community. The artwork within the game is also very lovely. It is easily digestable as to what is going on. However it is a lot of text and sometimes I was unsure what to do, as the puzzles needed you to remember dates and stuff. I think it was still worth it :)

Eu não havia visto nada do jogo e comprei pensando ser mais puxado ao puzzle, mas é um jogo com escrita humana, contando uma história que é real com muitas pessoas, a trilha sonora do jogo vale muito a pena e é um jogo bem curtinho com uma vibe tranquila.
As my opinion, A Normal Lost Phone is a very good game, not excellent, but among the best for the mobile game.
For beguin, I found the concept original, it is a qualities.
Then the music, I found they awsome, it is the biggest qualities with the story. They are real music, woth that, the music exist in the lore of the game, AND MOST OF ALL...THE LYRICS HAVE SIGNIFICATION WITH THE STORY OF THE GAME
My third point will be the story, the way for discovered it is really nice, more we continue in the game, more we understand it. It is for me the best element with the music of ANLP.
The biggest problem as my opinion is the gameplay, it is just click on the different application, found password ect. I regret there isn't new phase like chat with a contact of the original owner of the phone.

Pour moi, A normal Lost Phone est un très bon jeu, pas excellent, mais parmi de ce qui c'est fait de meilleur pour le jeu mobile.
Pour commencer, je trouve le concept vraiment original et c'est déjà un bon point.
Ensuite les musiques sont selon moi le plus gros points positif avec l'histoire: Elles sont fantastiques, ce sont de vrais musique, et truc encore plus chouette, c'est quel existe dans le lore du jeu! ET CERISE SUR LE GATEAU...LES PAROLES DES MUSIQUES ONT UN RAPPORT AVEC L'HISTOIRE DU JEU
Ensuite l'histoire, elle est très bien amenés, plus on avance dans le jeu, plus on découvre la vérité, c'est extrêmement bien géré et c'est vraiment quelque chose de génial.
Le plus gros point noir est le gameplay, bien que sa imite bien le système d'un téléphone, il n'y a rien à faire à part cliquer sur sur les applications. C'est dommage de ne pas avoir mis des phases qui varient le gameplay, comme une discussion avec un.e contact du propriétaire du téléphone
Mais en bref je recommande ce jeu, et sa courte durée de vie est compensé par son faible prix (3€ et 0,83€ en période de soldes
Shoutout to an old friend who gifted me the Lost Phone bundle before it gets delisted on Steam (sadness). I added these games to my wishlist long ago and always meant to nab em, now that I was gifted them, I decided to try the first game out. Though the game is short, the experience was well worth it.
You play as a random passerby who finds a lost, unlocked phone. As soon as you tap it, you get 4 text messages fromt he owner's father. It doesn't take long for you to find out that the owner is an 18-year-old boy named Sam. Looking at the recent messages, you find out that something happened to him since his parents do not know where he is. Want to find out more? You're gonna have to snoop through his messages, emails, and more to discover what happened to him.
This is a quaint little visual novel/puzzle game. You have to use clues through text messages, emails, and pictures found in the phone to discover Sam's story and what happened. At first, I was a little confused at what the point of the game was, but when I solved the first puzzle (finding out the Wi-Fi password), I was hooked. It was fun to piece together the story as you unlock more features of the phone.
Now for some slight spoilers, as I have no real gripes with this game. It is very LGBTQA+ coded, and I know how many gamers fear the "wokeness" of games (ugh, I hate how you all still misuse that word, see my Dustborn review for more). I personally believe they handled the topic extremely well. I must warn you all of some trigger warnings; the game touches on suicide. If that is triggering for you, you may want to steer clear for your mental safety.
Final verdict? I loved this game. It took me about 40-50 minutes to beat. I used a guide just to give me a hint on two of the puzzles, and the overall story was very heartwarming. This game is good for those who want a nice heartwarming story. It's especially good for those in the LGBTQA+ community or seeking to learn more about it. I'm looking forward to playing the second game and am saddened that this wonderful game will be delisted from Steam soon. I hope people still get a chance to try it out despite the delisting. Eu amei esse jogo, eu fiquei super intrigado no inicio e meu interesse só foi aumentando, achei muito legal de descobrir todos os segredos e fuçar no celular de um desconhecido, por fim a história que vai se revelando é muito tocando, retrata a vida secreta de pessoas LGBTS, e conta com histórias muito reias da vivencia lgbt como um todo.

Also ich finde das Spiel eher mau, man muss sehr viel lesen um am Ende dann vier Passwörter herauszufinden die man aber nur bekommt wenn man wirklich ALLES und ich meine ALLES gelesen hat und alles gemerkt hat um das dann zu kombinieren um dann ein Passwort zu bekommen. Also naja die Story ergibt auch keinen Sinn weil wenn jemand mein Handy findet, hoffe ich das er es bei einem Fundbüro oder so abgibt und nicht durch mein Handy geht um Hinweise zu fnden wer ich bin damit er mir dann es zurück geben kann und denn grossen Helden spielen kann. P.S. Wer Rätsel mag und eine kleine Leseratte ist go 4 it, sonst lass es lieber sein.

Personalmente, pensé que Sam estaría metida en una situación muy chunga y extraña, pero me di cuenta que estaba metida en una situación simplemente chunga, mas lamentablemente no extraña.
Creo que este juego me ha hecho reflexionar y pensar sobre mi situación, que si bien no está muy parecida, si comparte algunas similitudes. También me di cuenta que no podría haber hecho algo como hizo ella.

A Normal Lost Phone ist ein kleines, simples, aber unglaublich berührendes Spiel, das man problemlos in etwa einer Stunde durchspielen kann. Die Grundidee ist herrlich alltagsnah: Du findest ein fremdes Handy, und wie jeder normal neugierige Mensch machst du es dir zur Aufgabe, wirklich alles zu durchforsten. Nachrichten, Notizen, Apps, Hinweise zwischen den Zeilen. Genau dieses “Schnüffeln” ist hier nicht nur Gameplay, sondern der Schlüssel zur Geschichte.
Je tiefer man sich durch das Smartphone klickt, desto mehr setzt sich das Bild der anonymen Besitzerin oder des anonymen Besitzers zusammen. Und das passiert auf eine sehr intime Art, weil man nicht klassische Cutscenes bekommt, sondern die Story aus Fragmenten zusammensetzt. Das fühlt sich persönlich an, manchmal unangenehm ehrlich, und genau deshalb auch so stark.
Ohne zu spoilern: Das Spiel ist queer, sensibel und wunderschön erzählt. Es geht nicht um Schockmomente, sondern um Identität, Nähe, Unsicherheiten und diesen leisen Mut, man selbst zu sein. Für mich war es ein kurzer, aber emotional sehr hängenbleibender Trip, der zeigt, wie viel Story in einem “kleinen” Spiel stecken kann.
Wenn du narrative Games magst, die ohne großes Drumherum direkt ins Herz treffen, ist A Normal Lost Phone absolut eine Empfehlung.

Esse jogo toca no aspecto de identidade pessoal e como a comunidade LGBT como um todo vem sendo tratada ainda mesmo na atualidade. Felizmente, esse jogo termina com um final feliz, mostrando que há esperança para todos da comunidade serem representados e respeitados.
No tópico da gameplay, ela é boa! Muito bem pensada, e explorar o celular de uma pessoa por pequenas dicas para descobrir a vida da pessoa por trás do dispositivo se torna bem divertido! (Por mais que o começo seja um despejo de informações enorme...)

This game is a bit short for my liking, but it does have a good coming out story about what it's like being a part of the LGBT community in a very conservative family/town. You truly feel sorry for Sam after discovering the things in his phone all while supporting the decision he makes with his life. I recommend it especially if you don't want to spend a lot of time completing a game.

Meins ist es so gar nicht. Ich hatte gehofft es geht mehr darum verschiedene Rätsel zu lösen um die Identität des Besitzers herauszufinden, stattdessen liest man sich durch unzählige private Nachrichten/E-Mails und schnüffelt in den Bildern und APPs einer Fremden Person rum.
Wenn ihr mal ein Handy findet, setzt es einfach auf Werkeinstellung zurück und verkauft es. Ist besser als dass, was ihr hier macht.

It feels voyeuristic looking through a fictional character's phone, but it was totally worth it
This was a phenomenal game. Under normal circumstances, I would not go through someone's phone, but the storytelling of this was incredible and worth every moment.
You play as a random stranger who found a phone without a lock screen. You can either look through everything on the phone and piece together the owner's life, or you can delete everything as the owner wanted.
While this isn't a realistic scenario (most phones have a lock screen), I think this is a well-designed game that uses realistic situations to make the story believable. The puzzles are thought out and they give you everything you need, though it is your job to decipher what information to get. They were crafty, and it really made you think about everything you read just in case it was important down the line. The deeper you delved, the more you learned about the owner, and the more complicated their situation got. Everything you read is something that could potentially happen in real life, and I appreciate all the thought that went into creating the story and the gameplay.
While most games have a soundtrack, I could appreciate just how much the phone's owner really liked composing pieces and listened to it. The ability to shuffle and loop songs through the music player mimicked how most people would use it, and the ability to download tracks was very unique. While I wouldn't say that I would listen to the music outside of the game, I could tell just how much the phone's owner appreciated music and it gave insight to how they felt prior to losing their phone.
The achievements themselves were story-based, but I wouldn't say they were easy to get to. Many of the achievements were locked behind puzzles that took a decent amount of time to solve, though each achievement really felt earned when you got them. I was really proud when I earned these, which I think is perfect for a game that's short but well-crafted.
Overall, while this isn't a game I would otherwise play, it is a game I definitely would recommend. The story alone really explains the trouble that some people go to, and the devs did a wonderful job of portraying that struggle and keeping the game real. The game itself is very affordable in comparison to what it offers, and it is definitely worth the price it's sold at.

El juego te pone en el papel de alguien que encuentra un móvil perdido y, a través de mensajes, correos, fotos y apps, vas reconstruyendo la vida de su dueño. No hay puzles tradicionales: el reto está en interpretar la información, leer entre líneas y conectar detalles.
La historia es íntima y delicada, tratando temas personales con respeto y naturalidad. Todo se siente creíble, cercano y bien escrito, logrando que en poco tiempo te impliques emocionalmente. Su formato es original y funciona a la perfección, haciendo que avanzar sea tan sencillo como adictivo.
No es largo, pero no lo necesita: dice lo que quiere decir y se va, dejando huella. Ideal si buscas algo diferente, reflexivo y narrativamente bien construido.
I was surprised to find how much of a natural puzzle A Normal Lost Phone is. The whole game is simply the process of navigating someone else's phone without any passwords or previous knowledge of the owner. These logins then act as gates for certain bits of information, keeping that sense of revelation intact for what is essentially a plain text story scattered about different phone apps. Again, in a way that feels so natural.
There is, of course, something... not quite right about what you're actually doing here. This isn't your phone and it's clear all this information was intended to be kept private. But the violation taking place does allow you to fulfill the previous owner's hopes without putting them in a further unpleasant or possibly dangerous situation. I don't know if that makes the whole thing a wash morally, but it is, after all, a better justification than many games give us.

无中文，英文难度不高（日常对话式的能有啥难的）。游戏内容很简单：捡到一部手机，尝试解开一个个密码从而知晓机主的秘密。虽然无关文本较多然而很多信息都在对话之中，故难度不大。逐句阅读文本也可以窥见不少有趣的互动——[spoiler]垃圾邮件直接滚进回收站；不同人亲疏关系的差别：主角Sam对于关系亲密的人才会告知自己的生日，与好友的频繁互动以及和关系一般人的礼节性问候；不同人的语气也反应其性格：Uncle Raymond 喜欢用大写字母并且大呼小叫，母亲日常的带饭，父亲则对各种琐事充满了关心，忙碌得不能来参加生日的Uncle Hugo；Sam与好友Helen的对话更是揭开了女孩性骚扰这一话题的冰山一角——对Helen明显的骚扰在男友眼中却是小事，Helen的传统的父母更是觉得是她着装的问题……[/spoiler]
随着不断解开密码一步步抽丝剥茧，Sam的秘密也随之展现：[spoiler]身为男孩的他实则为一个LGBT人士（准确说是T），传统的环境中他不敢对包括父母在内的人声张，只能戴着假发去线下与同好社交，唯独好友Alice知晓他的秘密。后来他与女友闹掰，无奈之下在社交平台上结识了LGBT人士Phil，在他的鼓励下Sam敞开心扉，最终决定丢弃手机去一个能包容LGBT的城市展开新生。玩家恰好就是捡到手机的人。[/spoiler]
这个立意放在游戏刚出的时候（2017年）确实不错，少数群体也应该有发声的权利。然而放在现在彩虹运动过激反而讨骂的时代，这个立意就有点让人有点厌弃了，倒不如第二部的反家暴话题。（不支持不反对少跳脸）
游戏里有趣的细节：[spoiler] Sam在社交平台上有男女俩号，男号回复的人很少，其中还有卖的。而女号回复的男性就多了，有夸夸其谈的，有主动约饭的肌肉哥，哈哈；最后LGBT的秘密吧里还是出现了见证内容（啥群最后都逃不了见证啊）[/spoiler]
总之手机不离手，万一丢了就麻烦了，光凭聊天记录和相册一个人的信息、爱好之类的就被透的一干二净了。

Me gustó que el juego fuera un puzzle relativamente simple para ir descubriendo la história. Hay bastante texto entonces tienes que estar dispuesto/a a leer.
Creo que como el juego es del 2016, la trama puede parecer um poco "superada", no se como explicarlo, pero con certeza el 2016 generaba mucho mas impacto que ahora, ya que el tema que aborda está mucho más normalizado actualmente.

A Normal Lost Phone me pegou de um jeito que eu não esperava.
Enquanto eu tentava entender o que aconteceu com o antigo dono do celular, acabei me reconhecendo em muitas vivências. Chorei, me perdi e me encontrei. Não era só sobre resolver puzzles, era sobre acompanhar uma vida sendo compreendida, por mim e por ela mesma.
É um jogo curto, simples na forma, mas enorme no que faz sentir. Não é sobre um grupo específico, é sobre pessoas, sentimentos e o peso de existir.
Terminei o jogo, mas ele não terminou em mim. Recomendo muito mesmo <3
Conheci esse jogo na mostra "Game+ Arte, Cultura e comunidade" na Av. Paulista e o que mais me chamou a atenção naquele momento foi sua trilha sonora original e, principalmente, sua narrativa intrigante. Senti vontade de zerar ali na exposição mesmo e usar do espaço como uma "Lan House", mas eu havia outros compromissos naquele dia! Provavelmente eu teria feito isso, se não houvessem outros planos hahah
Portanto, resolvi comprar agora na promoção de final de ano para zerar e achei ele divertido. É um jogo beeem simples, porém educativo, principalmente para a época em que foi lançado. Eu acho que eu adoraria jogá-lo na minha adolescência, principalmente quando eu estava me educando sobre questões de gênero, sexualidade e diversidade. Provavelmente o assunto principal deste jogo seja um tópico do qual as pessoas já se acostumaram, agora em 2025. Porém o material ainda é bem atualizado e introduz bem o tema para quem não possui tanto conhecimento assim. Realmente um jogo educativo, do qual você não percebe que está sendo ensinado.

Finito in una singola sessione anche breve dico che è carino ma alquanto noioso perchè scontato nella storia, comunque la curiosità di vedere se finisce come pensi ti porta ad arrivare alla fine e pensare "vebbè almeno è durato poco". Consiglio se piace il genere e fortemente scontato, 1 euro si può spendere.
A Normal Lost Phone tiene una idea interesante: reconstruir una historia a través de un celular perdido, usando mensajes, mails y apps como herramienta narrativa. La interfaz está bien lograda y al principio resulta intrigante ir armando el rompecabezas.
Sin embargo, la historia en sí no terminó de atraparme. Siento que depende demasiado de un giro temático que ya vi muchas veces en otros juegos similares, y eso le quita impacto y sorpresa. Esperaba más profundidad o un enfoque distinto que aprovechara mejor el formato interactivo.
Es una experiencia corta y curiosa, con una presentación cuidada, pero a nivel narrativo se queda algo corta y no me resultó tan memorable como podría haber sido.
Realmente me agradó el juego. Es simple y concreto en lo que quiere transmitir.
¿Cuántas personas nos hemos sentido atrapadas? Y no solo me refiero al ámbito LGTBIQ+, sino a la vida en general: no saber qué hacer, no saber quién eres, ni qué es lo que realmente te gusta.
También… ¿Cuántos de nosotros no hemos vivido experiencias nefastas con familiares cerrados de mente? O, simplemente, críticas por gustos, estética u otras formas de expresión.
Siento que "A Normal Lost Phone" pincela muy bien la realidad que viven muchas personas y lo realmente complicado que puede ser mostrarse tal cual uno es.
Si te interesan estos temas, te lo recomiendo mucho. Aunque, hablando de la jugabilidad, no hay mucha que destacar y siento que está bastante desaprovechada en ese sentido; sin embargo, eso no le quita el peso narrativo que tiene.
Espero que, luego de jugarlo, puedas ver una realidad que para muchos es muy difícil de vivir. Sé el apoyo que necesitan <3

I love this game.
If you don't wanna get spoiled on the story, don't continue reading -> But it's great and go get it if you like puzzles and cozy lgbtq+ games.
I think everyone who is trans or has trans friends / family members should give it a try. It's not only a great puzzle game but also very informative and offers a good insight into the life of a young trans person and their potential struggles. (Ofc life as a trans person is different for everyone, but there are still shared situations or encounters one will go through, due to how our society still works and thinks, sadly.)
The music and visuals are super cozy and tie everything together. I also love how both sides are shown. On the one hand it shows the struggles and how one part of society thinks about the LGBTQ+ space, while on the other hand there are the communities that hold together and are supportive.

I played it back then when it came out I think, but never owned it. Now that it's planed to be removed and after having it on my wishlist for years, I had to get it.
I think it's also just the right amount of tricky. I solved it all on my own, but it was challenging in the best way.
Short and sweet, a game I would especially have loved playing when I was 18.

Great game, would take anywhere from 1-3 hours to go through everything depending on how quickly you read, and how much of everything you want to read, and if you get stuck at the puzzle parts for a long time.

Que vous soyez concerné.e de près ou de loin, ou bien totalement étranger.e à la sphère LGBT, ce jeu textuel pourra vous parler. Il s'agit à la fois d'une "tranche de vie" très réaliste qui fera écho à l'expérience de certains, mais aussi d'un "transidentité pour les nuls" très abordable pour les autres.
Personnellement, gamine, une des collègues de ma mère était trans. Déjà, à l'époque, on disait "transexuelle", ce qui a mené à bien des incompréhensions voire égarements. Un peu comme l'improbable et immonde raccourci pédale = pédé = pédophile. Tout ce que j'en avais retenu à l'époque, c'est qu'il fallait prendre des médicaments à vie - pas forcément - et que le regard d'autrui pouvait être cruel - très souvent. Depuis, les reportages et témoignages, les produits culturels plus ouverts, les conversations avec des gens rencontrés à une gay pride ou ailleurs, peuvent aider tout un chacun à mieux comprendre et accepter cette multitude de différences.

I've had this game in my library for a while now but I've only now decided to play it myself after seeing this would be getting delisted soon, yeah this game is really good, it just hit so close to home as a trans woman, it's a shame that future generations won't get to experience it as easily but oh well, I can only hope the people behind the game good luck on their future endeavors, thank you for making this piece of art at all

Comecei sem grandes expectativas, mas poucas horas depois já estava completamente envolvida. A cada nova descoberta, a trama ficava mais profunda, mais emocionante, mais intensa. Quando percebi, eu já estava conectada de um jeito que não esperava.
O jogo se apresenta como a investigação de um telefone encontrado, e é justamente aí que mora a sua força. Explorar a intimidade de uma pessoa desconhecida — vasculhando mensagens, fotos, aplicativos e fragmentos de rotina — é uma experiência ao mesmo tempo intrigante e profundamente humana. A narrativa se desenrola de forma orgânica, através da interface de um smartphone tão imersiva e intuitiva que, em certos momentos, parece que realmente estamos mexendo no aparelho de Sam, seu misterioso dono.
Aos poucos, vamos conhecendo sua vida, seus amigos, sua família, seus relacionamentos… até chegar à noite em que Sam completa 18 anos e simplesmente desaparece. A linha entre realidade e ficção fica cada vez mais tênue, e o jogo quase provoca uma pergunta incômoda: se você fecha o aplicativo mas continua pensando na história, será que realmente parou de jogar?
A narrativa é de uma delicadeza rara. O visual tem um charme próprio, com ilustrações que combinam perfeitamente com o clima da história, e a trilha sonora acompanha tudo como se fosse parte do enredo. Cada detalhe parece pensado para tocar quem está jogando — e, no meu caso, funcionou totalmente.
É um jogo que cria empatia de forma natural, abordando temas difíceis com muita sensibilidade. As questões de identidade de gênero de Sam são tratadas de forma real, crua, afetiva e incrivelmente bonita. É um retrato honesto e acolhedor, que faz o jogador enxergar, sentir e compreender junto com ele.
Daqueles jogos curtos, mas que ficam na memória. Em poucas horas, ele entrega mais emoção do que muito jogo extenso por aí. E o desfecho… me deixou completamente sensibilizada. É caloroso, marcante, desses que fazem a gente parar um momento depois de terminar.
No fim das contas, não é apenas um jogo: é uma vivência. Intimista, envolvente e profundamente afetiva. Uma pequena joia que vale cada minuto.
