Zephon is a post-apocalyptic 4X strategy game built on Proxy’s unique tactical combat system. Guide survivors through a grimdark future, navigating unexpected disasters, eldritch horror and cyberpunk monstrosities. What will you do to survive?

Storyline

Humanity emerges, hesitantly, into ruination. Almost nothing is left of the world as we knew it, settlements, forests, seas, mountains... all have been blasted into unfamiliarity. Horribly mutated animals hunt in packs through deformed woodland. Decrepit military robots stumble unknowingly through the ruins, sensors and logic centres blown. Alien soldiers, once impossibly powerful, cower in the wrecks of their ships, praying to heedless gods for rescue. On the planet Earth, that was once a cradle of life, the extinction of humanity is at hand. What will you do to survive?

I'm not sure I understand or agree with some of the negative reviews I've seen. However, I've not yet played Gladius, so maybe I'll change my mind once I've tried it (I plan to now having played Zephon a bit). But that's also an 8 year old game with a lore that is decades old to fall back on.

I've played quite a few different 4X games, so coming from that kind of perspective, I think this game is amazing. I've had an absolute blast playing it and I think the three different affinities are well done and unique enough to keep things interesting. I've also really enjoyed the depth of the combat with the various terrain effects (some of which move), line-of-sight complications, fog of war, etc. I also don't think I've ever played a 4X game with such a unique and fascinating story. I'm really looking forward to enjoying the future updates and DLC.

Of course, the game's not perfect. The diplomacy could be a bit better, which is a common complaint across a lot of 4X games. Sometimes the end game becomes a bit of a slog, but it's not nearly as bad as some stories I could tell across multiple Civ games. But overall, I think this is a solid game that is worth the price. If you can manage to get it on sale, then even better.

Civilization in a horror landscape. Technology is fast, but not overpowered. I found the ending units to powerful enough to quickly finish off you opponent when you have a good lead.

"Цивілізація" про постапокаліптичну війну. Три основні "раси", з трьома лідерами кожна, які додають "приправи" своїй фракції.
Хороша комбінація простого, але стратегічно важливого, містобудівництва та тактики бою.

Трохи розчаровує що (майже) усі ктулху огидні. Бридко грати за цю фракцію.

Недоделанная шляпа без баланса и реиграбельности. Стоит 10 тыщ кровно заработанных ТЕНГЕ, а интереса ровно на одну катку (часов 6 в зависимости от размера карты). Вонючку эту не покупайте даже. Прикрепляю характеристика своей ПеКа, чтобы все видели какое железо прогревается до 80 градусов на этом выcepe.

워해머40k 글라디우스 제작사의 독자적인 게임
흥미로운 세계관인 거 같다
유닛도 마음에 들고 분위기도 마음에 듦
근데 마지막 이벤트가 너무 빨리 발생하는건 아닌가 함

The game is fun to play turn to turn (even if late game can be a slog on map sizes above medium), the lore is intriguing and legitimately well written and all the factions have very diverse playstyles... only issue is roster variety isn't great (everyone works off of the same pool of units, just with different access criteria) without DLCs, and even then it has nothing on Gladius.

Honestly the game at first was fun when I didnt know much and fortunately tried the warlord as my first one who's more of an active faction. As the more I played myself and alongside my partner, the less I enjoyed it because it became incredibly repetitive and dragged out. Compared to Gladius which had far more present and a more interesting endg-game, I do not recommend buying this slogfest of a game. The art style is cool and the premise is unique however the execution is genuinely boring in comparison to gladius. Buy on sale maybe? Otherwise there are far better options at the same price range if not cheaper. To sum it up, its that one clip of Mordecai and Rigby flipping through the DND dudes book which as elves that all look the same with different outfits. The illusion of difference through visuals but the same boring ass gameplay loop.

派系領袖的差異還能多一些，目前就是「科技傾向」、一到兩個正面及負面詞條、一個戰略技能、每個科技層級的專屬科技，以及詞條帶來的好感度加成與懲罰。
問題是以上要素和通用的科技樹連動的效果有限，很難打出更有特色的戰術或風格。
可以參考文明帝國「替換」部分通用兵種給領袖專屬的兵種。

整體上不如40K那般有特色，雖然彌補了40K沒有大規模殺傷戰略兵器的遺憾，但有些派系通過一次就很難有動力再開一盤走不同的打法。
例如40K星界軍除了傳統的鋼鐵洪流，也會想開一把嘗試走步兵海或女武神空降風暴兵的手術刀式戰鬥。
星際戰士能像極限戰士用戰團教條加成，大玩戰術小隊海。也能用碉堡推動戰線硬生生玩成帝國之拳。

這款多少是讓人有些失望，感覺內容花很多心思豐富，但深度明顯不夠。
明明新增了外交、中立派系、隨機事件、戰略技能、語音，卻在最重要的部分輸給了自己的前作。

派系領袖實際操作心得
殞落士兵
人類科技，早戰風格
「不屈」特性是固定數值，這讓「義勇軍」前期小型戰場有極高的緒戰力。同時該派系的「遊騎兵」有著三專屬科技，即使數值上無法與後期高階兵種一戰，但在前、中期探路時期仍保有一定的地位。
經濟加成仰賴人類科技「雷達站」中的「後勤專家」。
後期困境
「不放棄」的負面特性為比例數值，這讓後期單位必須付出更高的維持費，同時也因不屈帶來的效益減少，整體強度會略遜於其他派系。需要「軍事訓練」的領袖專屬戰略技能迅速提高等級。

務實的浪漫主義者
人類科技，早戰風格
「拾荒者」特性鼓勵該派系多戰鬥，同時有「二次機會」能把資源調度回來。
但負面詞條會在損失部隊時，蒙受更高的士氣懲罰。
所以維持戰鬥的同時淘汰過渡部隊，打造高質量的部隊會是該派系最核心的玩法。

正直的男爵
人類科技，發育風格
「召賢納士」為最核心的機制，能花費影響力迅速建設或擴軍。強大的經濟實力可協助該派系在前線迅速打造軍事城市，或是短時間完成高階資源的轉型。
其餘正面與負面詞條影響不大，都是錦上添花與無關痛癢。

機械中的幽靈
賽博科技。早戰風格
只有首都一城的派系，仰賴軍事單位駐守資源點提供額外資源，這也意味著有著大量雜兵的需求，奠定了該派系早期擴張軍事的必要性。
超遠程的巨砲確保了前期周圍資源點的掌控權，有著相當權威的自保能力。
如果沒鎖派系科技，和人類科技中有空投艙的部隊很搭。
單城和早戰爆兵外加賽博士兵海的連動效果，整體上是很適合新手了解遊戲的開局派系。

電馭密探
賽博科技。發育風格
起始兵種最弱勢的梯隊，僅有2支賽博基礎步兵。
雖說科技與加成多與戰鬥相關，但異體強化巨大的開銷不適合早期暴低階兵強軍事的風格。
相反來說，英雄會是這個派系早期重要的戰力。
經濟上會推薦多蓋「影響力」產能建築，能買裝備強化英雄或是與中立派系購買支援維持過渡時期的軍事力量。
到中期還能開出3回合一發的「衛星炮」，這項戰略技能幾乎能直接打動搖任何看到的多模組部隊。

人類科技特色
無須特殊資源：人類科技只需「糧食」「礦物」「電力」，資源調配相對簡單。
營舍開局強軍事：二房屋二忠誠的「營舍」可推遲住宅區和劇院的研發，同時糧食、礦物兩項就能滿足建軍條件，早期就能發展出強勢的軍事實力，導彈發射器班出來後便有足以攻城的破壞力。
專業化部隊：部分人類單位有著不可替代性部屬能力，如唯一擁有運輸能力的空軍「海盜船」，從城市空投到任何視野所及之處的禁衛軍與伏爾甘，前期一路打到後期的導彈發射器般，超長程的重砲。

First of all I really wanted to like this game, it had so much potential, but it really fell short.
My main complaint is identity, coming from Gladius every leader/race has an identity, unique features, units, and heroes. The factions in Zephon are barely different from each other, they really just need to take the existing races and link them to a faction and work on new races and units, slowly release new factions with unique units and Id buy every one of them, I already have everything for gladius and almost 300 hours, make this something great.

Really like the game but stoped playing it 2 months after release. The game crashed every other turn after getting 30-50 turns into a round.
After some research it seems like the previous game (gladius) had the same issue but I couldn't find a fix for it so I quit playing. 2 weeks ago i gave it another try and I really like the changes they made but I still get the crashes even though I'm using a completely different pc now.
Wrote an e-mail to support (the way you are supposed to) but didn't receive an answer yet (sent a week ago)
For now it'll get a negative review. I really like the game and enjoy it a lot but I can't play it after an hour into a round because it keeps crashing after a turn or two are played.

Long time Gladius player here, and Zephon absolutely improves over every aspect of that game. New and interesting mechanics, and interesting approach to the tech tree (imo, others may disagree) and a bunch of different "Mutators" that can really shake up how the game works, like adding a randomized element to how much damage your units can do, or even crazier things.

If loved Gladius, you'll love this.

About the only downside I see is that I don't think the devs will ever go back and give Gladius the same QoL updates this game has...

Zephon, as a European-developed title, benefits from regional funding, and it shows in its strong artistic direction and well-crafted story. The unique distinctions between factions are a highlight. However, the diplomacy system can become overly simplistic, as just handing out resources easily leads to universal alliances. In the late game, managing the sheer number of units can feel like a micromanagement slog, making it a bit repetitive towards the end.

По началу всё было хорошо. Я пытался создать аванпост человечества в умирающем постапокалиптическом мире. Создал армию спасения, героев человечества, новые города.
Заводил союзников и уничтожал нечисть.
А потом на 100 ходе, мне сказали что вот это всё был не апокалипсис, а вот теперь он настал!
Ко мне пришли линкоры на куриных ножках изрыгивающие армию роботов, как будто из бредовых кошмаров ИИ.
И просто снесли по мгновению всё что у меня было. Человечество проиграло.

Muy buen juego, comparacion obligada con Warhammer Gladius y Zephon lo supera en muchos aspectos
ejemplos: se siente mas fluido en movimientos unidades y atajos. los graficos son creo superiores aunque vale decir que son similares, otra diferencia es que es mas complejo que el juego de Warhammer cual cuenta con la ventaja de tener heroes y unidades mas emblematicas y conocidas

muy muy recomendado, aun busco guia tutorial en mi idioma
