I recommend getting Wrestling Empire instead though because it's pretty much the same thing with even more features. I got this one first because I never played one of these before and I wanted to see what it was like back then as well.
Games been disappointing so far chaotic tho. Controls are dumbed down and I skipped training. spam hit grapple stomp repeat till special. In the process your characters will flail around for 30-50% of it. Submission just drain energy even after 1-2 mins hold no tap out. matches can end unexpectedly to unknown stoppage or elimination leading to loss. Training works sometimes telling you to smash buttons but its not read like that so you might not gain anything id suggest sparring. Pinning can damn near feel broken id rather be in a last man standing because you can hit a finisher on red bar and they still get up. throw the whole kitchen sink they still get up. Between the fun and tedious bs id suggest buying wwe on sale atp. I like the multiple leagues, real people and dialogue but theirs more bad then good

WR3D mod took this game to a whole new level and I really enjoyed it but I uninstalled the game after a while and today I decided I wanted to try it again but the game is completely unplayable now except for sparring with Coach Emerson. When I try to select a wrestler from my lists in either the gameplay mode or editing the roster my cursor turns into one of the names and the entire name will move across the screen as my cursor and I can't select anything and it won't exit without alt tab. I've reinstalled and checked integrity. I don't know if it got corrupted when I reinstalled or if the newest update is no longer compatible with the mod. I'll look into it later when I get more information. Otherwise I am a fan of this game and I hope I can get these issues resolved.
This is not the free-roam wrestling game you saw the likes of Vargskelethor play. MDickie's control website states it was created in the year 2000, and this game feels like it was made in the year 2000. Otherwise, wouldn't recommend, consider buying the more updated versions which are this game but more refined, try all of its different flavours too.
Might be passable for mobile, but this is absolutely unplayable on PC compared to every game in the series before it. Framerate capped and controls dumbed down to suit mobile. Should have left the game there and not bothered with a PC port for this version.

Want to experience an MDickie game for a bit less money than Wrestling Empire, pick this one up. The gameplay is just as chaotic and addictive as Wrestling Empire with a bit more jank than it's successor. This is an excellent wrestling title!

So I create my guy and start my career in the WWF (modded). The first thing that happens is Stephanie asks me how Earl Hebner is doing as a ref. Having not had a single match yet, I tell her he's fine and we should keep him. I didn't realize that me saying this would start my career as a tag team with Earl. Well, in our first tag match, I accidentally hit Earl, who gets p!ssed off and leaves. I was still able to win the match. In my next match as a single, I go for my first pin, and Earl, who is reffing, decides he's going to slow count me in that match, and every other match for the next few months (outside of the few tag matches that I had against him and his new partner Big Show). There may be some jank in this game, but it's far more entertaining than the current WWE2K series. I bounced off this game at first, but I'm glad I gave it another shot and stuck with it. Just make sure when you sign your first contract that you get Creative Control, otherwise Steph could dress you like Sin Cara and change your name to Dennis Stevenson.
Messing around with this game is so much fun, especially in the booking mode you can create more fun for yourself than anything the 2K games put out even with the very long list of flaws WR3D has as a game

2nd Edit: Eh, I realized I was being a bit TOO petty about this, as I shouldn't punish MDickie for the actions of some of his fans, so I'm changing it to positive since, again, it seems as though he fixed the issues in question that I had. And no, nobody bullied me into it, I just looked at my review when going through my library and felt I was a ♥♥♥♥.
Edit: It seems as though Mat has fixed up some of the issues I had, as I opted to pick it up again for a bit, and the opponent was nowhere near as trigger happy with reversals and my wrestler wasn't constantly falling down when merely trying to execute a move. However, I've received some harassment from some people over this review despite the circumstances of me outright saying you should buy Wrestling Empire instead and that I WANT to like this game, so until they apologize or MDickie publicly condemns it, this review is staying as not recommended. Every instance of someone else being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to me will just keep it as not recommended even longer. Spite is fun sometimes.

Hey, have you ever wanted a wrestling game that's so incredibly jank that 90% of the time you start a grapple your wrestler decides it's a better idea to just fall down like he hurt himself when all he did was grab the guy's legs while he was on the ground?
Have you ever wanted a game where your opponent reverses the moves that DO connect despite his Skill level being at least 20 points lower than yours?
Have you ever wanted a game where the D-Pad doesn't work and the control stick when pushing up with a button to execute a move decides that just because you're pushing the control stick up a little bit to the left it uses the move set for left/right directional input instead of up?
Have you ever wanted a game where you try to walk one direction but instead go the opposite for a reason I STILL can't figure out?
Have you ever wanted to play something that feels so unpolished that it's an absolute shocker that the guy that made this has never made any proper updates to this or 2D till almost a year after the Steam Deck came out, resulting in 2D having a move select bug that existed since release that only JUST got patched about a week ago, and yet said guy has the audacity to brag about how his games are the pinnacle of wrestling games despite the fact that, surprisingly enough, this was a more frustrating experience than even dealing with bugs in freaking WWE 2K20?
If you said no to any and/or all of these, stay away from this and 2D. They aged like milk. At least Wrestling Empire is getting proper functionality, so it's not a total loss. Only reason I kept playing this till now was because of the original animation for the Corkscrew Splash that's just a plain old shooting star press in Empire for some reason. Seriously, it's a ton of fun to do that as a running dive to the outside of the ring(even if I'm confused as to why it lands like a crossbody), but it's just not worth the frustration and anger I get from when the game decides to throw actual ♥♥♥♥ in my face.
Like I said, get Wrestling Empire instead. It's still missing stuff from this, but at least it's actually playable.
Oh, and the difficulty setting it was on with my struggling? Very Easy. No joke.

After playing this game's follow up, Wrestling Empire, for a considerable number of hours and going back to this one afterward, I can't say much about it. It doesn't play or control very well. It's definitely not a classic wrestling game. Id doesn't even look nice at all by comparison.
For what it is, it's good and all, but given the choice, go with Empire instead.
This is one of the best wrestling games I have ever played. From adding new clothes, to adding new music, to editing title belt images for custom promotions, everything can be done with simple, intuitive file and folder names. As someone who like having a custom roster of my friends and family, it makes it super easy for me, and we haven't even gotten into the gameplay. As someone who loves hardcore matches, the amount of weapons and variety is awesome to see. What other game lets you leap from on top of a stack of ten tables onto your opponent on the outside? Wrestling Revolution 3D does. Sure, the graphics aren't 2K level, but it makes up for that in its charm and customization. You can tell MDickie puts time and care into every game.

What is this garbage. I loved MDickie back in the day but this...wow. Stay away. Buggy as crap. Goodluck selecting the card, doesnt matter what you pick it will be the same match for every single thing. Main event, mid card doesnt matter. Constantly battling the controls, at one point the selection literally moved off the screen to where you couldnt see them anymore.

Great game. Enjoy it for what it is. The game is quite funny with wonderful parodies of wrestlers. And, it's one of the better GM modes out there with WWE making their GM mode non-existent.

I love this wrestling title, Wrestling Empire is the newer version of this and has far more new features and events. However I still really like Wrestling Revolution 3D. In fact there are many things I prefer in this version over Empire at the moment of this review. Game speed customization, silly physics and easy texture modifications and so on. Where IMO WR3D shines over Empire. This one is much more bug free too, it still has its bugs (In most cases a freezing opponent may happen at some point), but it's a very rare occurrence on average it happened like twice between an average of 300 matches and even if it happens, you can press pause and quit the match or simulate it which usually fixes this minor issue.
The storylines are fun (Of course they can become repetitive at some point, but they are still fun!), the random factors really create odd and funny moments. In fact the whole game is charming from look to execution. The weird physics makes for incredible OMG moments sometimes and the impact of most moves feel like actual impact, especially on the smashed props. The career mode is endlessly fun and makes any 2K or alternative wrestling games look amateurish in comparison in that department at least.
You see MDickie has been doing this series for a while now and he his mostly doing this solo. When a AAA company like 2K with hundreds of people working on their titles, their only focus is on the visual representation of superstars (Probably because of WWE itself requiring that focus!) and therefore this affects the rest of their wrestling game design, it especially affects their game-play department because it's the brand and the image that they must sell, weather it plays great or not makes not differences to them. With MDickie's games, it's the other way around. You may roll your eyes at the graphics this game series offers, but you'll still come back because it's actually fun to play, the game is simply fun and feels like a real wrestling world, it's very alive and there are so many things that can happen. Tag a buddy along with local play and it's twice the fun.
The only negative I can see is, in terms of moves there aren't that many, same with the taunts and with the hairstyles. The camera can be a b*** sometimes. It's also lacking a 2-4 player career which would be great to play with friends. You can still play and have fun with friends in most modes, but only player one is really the focus in the career mode so never expect events for the most part to directly affect player 2.
In any case, this title is leaps and bounds more fun than any other wrestling game out there. You can either simulate real world wrestlers across several brands with a roster total of 350+ wrestlers or you can totally replace them all with fictional wrestlers like I tend to do. Like I've mentioned earlier, Wrestling Empire is the newer fresher version of this game and it shows many improvements in many ways, sometimes subtle. But this one still really owns its place in a library of games to any wrestling game fan.

FPWW is an amazing game in its own right, but I've got to say, at this point I've had more fun with Wrestling Revolution 3D, and encourage anyone with even a passing interest in wrestling or wrestling games to give it a shot! It's awesome!
I have Wrestling Empire on my switch with over 180 hours played. While this one isn't as polished and the gameplay comes off as a little slow, this is a series of games developed by one dude who clearly loves wrestling from all promotions. I got this version because I wanted to play the WR3D 21 mod by HHH which adds venues from promotions like WWE, NXT, AEW, IMPACT!, NJPW, and some more PPVS and what not. Not to mention the rosters have all your favorite stars with special attention to stacking the AEW Roster. All in all, I recommend this game and Wrestling Empire. But if you get this game PLEASE try the WR3D 21 mod. You won't regret it.
**edit** if you dont like the speed of the game or feel like its lagging, just go to settings and adjust speed to about 150, and then adjust depending on how you like it. Love you Mdickie.
Wrestling Revolution 3D is one of the funnest wrestling games I have ever played in my life for multiple reasons. The game has good controls and ok graphics however the real chaos comes with matches. You can have weapons upon weapons upon weapons of violence from tables and chairs to literal WACKY crap and it is beautiful.
Game Modes - The game has the normal exhibition match which can be a 1v1, 2v2, Battle Royal, with DQ, with no DQ or whatever your heart desires, there are two other modes which are the career or story mode and a booking GM Mode esque mode, the career mode is literal insanity, you can injure wrestlers, kill wrestlers, do the roids, get hired get fired, but the real purpose is choosing your superstar from any promotion and after that it basically becames the chaos I mentioned earlier, to give a example in my 2nd match I killed Damien Sandow as Chris Hero and then the next thing after the news came out I get a contract offer from the WWE. The booking mode also has the wackiness of the career mode but now instead of a wrestler you are now a booker and you can try to run a good company or get bankrupt in the first couple of shows.
Audience - This game can appeal to anyone who loves a good laugh and doesn't like 2K's simulation style and just wants the game to be fun and not over realistic. If you are more of a simulation or realistic type of guy when it comes to your games then this game may not appeal due to it being pretty unrealistic.
Graphics - The graphics are Ok but nothing to write home about. The Graphics are on par with the Fire Pro series.
Pricing - It's a $9.99 dollar game so its pretty cheap. Comparing the price to 2K's games (2K19 and 2K20) you save $50.00 dollars and compared to Fire Pro World you save $19.99.
Requirements - Pretty easy to run unless you are on a potato as it's 100MB and has a ram of 4GB.
Difficulty - You can choose a difficulty so it can appeal to people who just want to joke around and for people who want to have a 5-Star technical masterpiece.
Controls - the controls are like WWF No Mercy which is one of the best wrestling games of all time so the controls are pretty good. They aren't as good as the 2D version but still are good.
Overall this game can be a gem for people who like to have a joke and have fun. If you are a fan of the 2K simulation realistic style then this game probably isn't the game for you as this game is unrealistic.

I got paid to help a guy win a match but he switched team halfway through. So I helped the team he was on before and he paid me. 10/10 Would do again.
If you like old-school wrestling games back when they used to actually be good, you'll enjoy this one! Yeah, the graphics aren't the best and there are funny bugs but it's better a hell of a lot better than WWE 2K20.

I may have been expecting too much. It'd be a great sequel to No Mercy, if the controls were smoother. Hope the next one you come out with is a little more polished. You should have really stuck more to the THQ combat style and less like the smackdown.
