This game is just really fun. the interface is simple but it works well. The missions require a little figuring out but not so much you're just lost. They arent force fed to you either. There's lots of variety in play styles that work. Its fun, and this guy runs sales all the time but itd be worth it at full price.
The story isn't deep, but the writing is good. A nice, open world where you can run around and explore, with turn-based combat, and lots of things to think about while playing. I enjoyed my time with it.

This is a post-apocalyptic CRPG made with RPG Maker. I am not usually into these games but I really like post-apoc scenarios. This game is fun to play, has a story with multiple quests you can work through if you want, or you can just walk around hunting in every box and every wrecked car to gather all the items in your base. It's made by one person and was their first commercial game so don't expect an amazing AAA RPG like Baldur's Gate 3, but this is pretty decent and well made for what it is.
This is a great little game (meaning it is not hundreds of hours long)! It plays fair (did not have to check for hints) and has a lot of fun content. I bought all the DLCs as soon as I finished the main quest.

最初は装備の存在に気づかず裸でレベル上げをしていましたが、Karaを仲間にして装備を整えてからは安心して探索できるようになりました。
ストーリーも簡潔ながら引き込まれるものだったと思います。
キャラクターの成長面としては、HP盛りと回避系とクリティカル系を取ればまず安心なのですが、パッシブ系を全部取ろうとしていたらアクティブスキルを全く取らずにクリアしてしまったので、スキル数をもっと厳選して減らしてもいいんじゃないかと思いました。
アイテムと敵はリスポーンするので、あと各拠点にいるトレーダーの依頼は早めにこなして追加の品揃えを増やすことが攻略への近道です。

At first I didn't realize that equipment existed and leveled up naked, but after I got Kara to join my group and get equippements, I was able to explore with ease.

As for the character growth aspect, I thought that the number of skills could be more selective and reduced, since you can take evasive and critical skills, but I cleared the game without taking any active skills when I was trying to take all passive skills.

In concept, I like WW. It has a good fundamental design of loot buildings, avoid/fight bandits, and lots to explore. There's a perk system and most items are pretty detailed.
That said, I'm finding it hard to overlook how unpolished the gameplay experience is. Challenge wise, it's not bad with the occasional enemy difficult spike, but the game can be very rough around the edges. I think it's a pretty good effort for the time it was made, but there's quality of life issues I'd like to see in a future iteration.
A lot of the game is centered around looting. Your character is worded early on as being clever and creative but the game doesn't seem to push this angle much- at least in my sessions, most of the items are useless junk that at least sound like they'd be practical. Maybe more recipes come in later, but for as fast as I could get special guns and SWAT armor pieces, my character never really learned to do much on their own. I'd like to see clearer comparisons on gear from merchants compared to held items and a toggle button for switching between melee/ranged. Scarcity also wasn't much of an issue- I could buy basically everything I needed fast and food almost never ran even slightly low.
We're also told early on that this isn't a game where we're supposed to seek out enemies to fight. That's fair and there's a reasonable amount of maneuverability based on the character and the sprint button. But xp is still mainly tied to fights and the occasional quest. And with the amount of enemies present and xp needed for perks, combat still feels encouraged, particularly with easy ammo purchases.
The map... egh. In a sense, it shows a lot of detail of where buildings are. Navigating where on that map one is can be a hassle, as a lot of stuff is muddy and washed out looking. I found I had to duck into buildings to get the title to pop up and then cross reference that on my map. A "YOU ARE HERE" icon would have been amazing. Similarly, a button to access the map (as one must frequently use it) would have been super useful as opposed to ducking into the status screen.
Apparently there's random encounters? I didn't quite understand how this works... I played for three hours without anything random showing up and I figured that's the strategy- see the enemies, dodge around/engage them and plan things out. Getting jumped by 3 bandits at once after all this time was confusing and I didn't see anything in the game mention or imply it. Should they have been visible on the main ground? It's hard to say... I've seen spots where doors don't appear but the interactive barricade for it existed anyway. I like knowing what a game will throw at me in terms of gameplay expectations.
It's not a bad game at all, but I can't bring myself to recommend it based on the roughness compared to the amount of DLC available. Maybe it's the limitations of the engine at the time it was made, but I feel like there's places where the bones of WW needed some love.
Pretty nice little RPG Maker game, the dev is attentive and does their best to remedy your complaints. A few issues like a lot of the active abilities being basically worthless, items having too much weight, and others aren't that bad where they ruin the experience and for an older game it holds up alright. I'm mainly giving it a positive review because the dev fixed some issues I reported and there's enough story and variety in the game to keep you going for a bit. For the price worth it
Games with postapocalypse setting has a special place in my heart, and this one had been on my radar for quite a while before I finally bit the bullet and bought it when it was on sale. I also snagged the two major DLCs with two new stories in the same purchase. At the time of review I have just beaten the base game and the two DLCs after a total of 58h, and leave the game with only 6 achievements left to get (which require specific dates or a DLC I do not yet own).
I can only echo what others have already said. This is no exceptions THE BEST game on the RPGmaker engine. There is some "RPGmaker-clunkyness" in the userinterface, but that didn't bother me much once I got into the game. The base game is more free roaming and sandbox-like and you can discover things and do quests in whatever order you happen upon them while the two separate DLCs are shorter but more story driven. One thing that I didn't notice until way later, was that buildings can have entances from all sides. One survivor colony (in the base game) had a really great store right at the entrance, but I never noticed the door until I was about to beat the game (because it had entrance from the left) and then I had little use for the cool goods that store was selling.
The base game took me the longest to complete. Only once did I look in the forum for hints to one quest. The two DLCs are in my opinion better structured as they have story progression, but because they are also much shorter they also don't last very long. If you are into JRPGs and like a dose of bleak post apocalypse you may take a liking to Waste Walkers.
It's not as fancy as a Fallout game but at least the game didn't crash every 2 hours or so.
Seeing this was built upon the RPG maker engine, I can't help but feel inspired to make my own RPG maker game now.
Not exactly a fan of the business model the developer used for their games but at least they deserved it.
This is NOT your grandpa's Dragon Quest game, so I suggest players stop treating it like one.

This was the second title by Corrosive Studios that I played, the first being Lawless Lands. A simple Indie RPG in a post nuclear apocalypse setting. I put in around 12 hours to finish the main quest and side quests. Was worth my $3.

Juego que no ofrece piedad al jugador, tal y como debe ser en el género post-apocalíptico. El comienzo es duro porque empiezas con mucha desventaja; poca vida, poca capacidad de inventario, riesgos radioactivos, riesgo de deshidratación, riesgo de inanición, ataques de bandas callejeras, ataques de ghouls, ataques de animales, etc. Si sois pacientes y mostráis algo de voluntad la partida os va recompensando a la larga, pero es muy poco a poco, gracias a las numerosas misiones secundarias que hay por el caótico mapa que podemos observar en el inventario.
La misión principal importa poco y es una mera excusa que nos obliga a explorar y a empaparnos de ese ambiente cruel y decadente tan característico en estas historias. Según qué personajes nos encontremos, podemos decidir ser éticos o comportarnos como unos traidores malnacidos, pero solo se nota en las recompensas, no hay ramas narrativas al estilo de elige tu propia aventura. Para ser una obra independiente está bastante bien, tiene combates por turnos roleros y elementos de supervivencia y de gestión de recursos. Muy clásico.

A game that offers no mercy to the player, as it should be in the post-apocalyptic genre. The beginning is hard because you start with a lot of disadvantage; low life, low inventory capacity, radioactive risks, dehydration risk, starvation risk, street gang attacks, ghoul attacks, animal attacks, etc. If you are patient and show some will, the game will reward you in the long run, but it is very little by little, thanks to the numerous secondary missions that exist on the chaotic map that we can see in the inventory.
The main mission matters little and is a mere excuse that forces us to explore and soak up that cruel and decadent atmosphere so characteristic of these stories. Depending on which characters we meet, we can decide to be ethical or behave like bastard traitors, but it only shows in the rewards, there are no choose-your-own-adventure style narrative branches. For an independent work it is quite good, it has turn-based role-playing combat and elements of survival and resource management. Very classic.
For what it is, Waste Walkers is a fun game. It's compact, and can be pretty repetitive, and you never need to get more than one companion. Once you have a companion, you'll never feel the need to ever switch them out for another. I wish there was more content.
BTW the sleeping bag makes basic medical items (those that don't heal effects) worthless. Get the sleeping bag lmao. Nothing like sleeping with your party six times in a row while bandits walk toward you.
In terms of RPGMakers games I've played, this is one of the most ambitious ones I have personally seen, and this is Corrosive's first one on Steam! There are some minor issues like a bit of lag on the world map (opening the menu in particular while in the world map, but also looting), but considering this was the first game, I can definitely overlook it. Well worth the $8 I spent, and I could have replayed it many times due to the different traits you can put on your character and unique aspects each playthrough. However, for the time being, I want to get in to Lawless Lands, now that I got a taste for Corrosive's RPG design. This one is definitely worth picking up!
Such Paradox-level DLC scummery is the last thing I expected from an utterly obscure indie dev.

Sie schreiben rein dass das Spiel nicht auf das Kämpfen ausgelegt ist, packen aber überall wo es was zu holen gibt eine menge Gegner hin. die übermächtig sind. Sie dürfen drei mal hintereinander angreifen, treffen dich nahezu immer Statuseffekte werden auch großzügig an dich verteilt und du bist der Depp der mit der Axt 2 mal zuschlagen kann bevor er das Zeitliche segnet. Wovon man mindestens einmal daneben schlägt.
Dazu kommen wenige bis keine Heilmöglichkeiten, Bandagen heilen 3% leben und entfernen Bluten, gut ist es dazu da Bluten wegzubekommen. Leider heilen die anderen Items nicht wirklich mehr, mit Außnahme von dem dicken Medi Kit, das gibt dir 25%, also nicht mal genug um einen Hit vom Gegner abzufangen.
Echt, wer dachte sich dass das so super wäre....

Price -2: I'm not completely against DLC’s. I’m not a fan of them but I will generally not count a game off for them. But this is a $10 game with $37 in DLC’s. Even that I would not usually count against the game except that I like to get achievements and getting those requires you to buy some of the DLC’s. It goes so far as to have some of the achievements nothing more than ‘load the game with X DLC installed.’ Since you have to have them to get the achievements I’m going to count them into the price of the game and I don’t think this game is worth $47.
That’s all I got. I was so annoyed by the excessive DLC’s and the fact I could not get all the achievements without them I didn’t even play the game. Just let it run until I had the cards and uninstalled it. If it was eligible I would have refunded it.

It's a great game. Took me a few deaths in the beginning figuring out which "build" (talents etc.) I wanted to lean more to. There will always be room in my heart for these low bit games. I like the speed at which you level and weaponize at. Seems pretty balanced that way for progression.
-If this type of game is not your cup of tea, don't play it and thumbz down. The down review is for crap games left to die and or with bad dev's. Regardless of your preferred genre. Thumbz downing a game because your old arze potato can't play when 11k others can is also an idiot reason to so.
First off, this is an RPGM (RPG Maker) game, or at least extremely similar to one. So if that isn't your thing, then you may not like this game or its play style.
That out of the way, I enjoy this game. It's got a fairly familiar story to those who play post-apocalypse games, but it is approachable and feels fairly fleshed out so far. I know I have little time played at the time of this posting, but it's a game I'll be coming back to again and again (unless something explodes in a bad way in the game).
You explore a wasteland that is fairly open world, meeting people who ask you to do things both helpful and dubious. You collect supplies you can use or sell, while following quest lines. All fairly familiar tacks for RPG-style games. The graphics are pretty solid for an RPGM game.
Combat is present but as the game tells you right off, it's not the preferred play style cause, surprise, you aren't a superhuman in this game. You're an average person trying to survive extraordinary events.
If you like RPG games, exploring, some survival, and post-apocalypse, give this game a look. For its price, it's a pretty solid buy.

RPG Maker strikes again! This is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child."
Like most RPG Maker games, however, this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. The overall quality of this "game" doesn't exceed the deplorable quality of the RPG Maker engine.
Also, like all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer.
Unlike most RPG Maker "games", some effort went into doing something other than a weak Final Fantasy ripoff. There's a few different stats, attrition, some assets that aren't just asset flips, a bit of work on a post apocalyptic theme. The amount of lipstick that's been duct taped onto this makes it the best dressed pig in town.
Gamers who want a good post apocalyptic RPG experience should consider games like Fallout 3 (which you can get for cheaper than this!). Or even Fallout 1, which is decades older than this and superior in every respect despite being ancient. I really think developers should take a look around at the competition before embarking on a terrible business plan like this.

The developer states that a lot of effort went into the game, yes and no. The developer spent a lot of time filling out templates for RPG Maker, which shouldn't be confused with actual game development any more than filling out a Word document makes someone a programmer.
The developer suggests that this being an RPG Maker game might have "scared me off". This implies the developer failed to read my review. I played the result of him filling out templates in RPG Maker. I also highlighted that most of the flaws in his "game" are the result of him using RPG Maker, not the "effort" he spent filling out templates. These are the most crucial flaws, yet the developer does not acknowledge them, let alone try to lay out a plan for him fixing those terrible flaws that drive every RPG Maker game below acceptable standards (pixel "art", locked resolution etc).
The developer claims I'm hostile, this isn't the case. My reviews are not written for developers, they are written to inform gamers and help them understand why games are bad, and what choices developers make that result in such bad games. This understanding is highly valuable when informing gamers purchasing choices. Surely, that's the purpose of reviews. The developer then goes on to boast that they bought a bachelors degree in "programming" (hint: It's called Computer Science or Software Engineering, if he had a degree from an actual university he could read that on the bit of paper they give you, I know, I have one myself, that's how I can tell the difference between a professionally produced game and someone filling out a game template/construction kit).
The developer claims they were 18 and unqualified when they made the questionable decision to fill out an RPG Maker template and sell the resulting train wreck on Steam for money, while working as a fast food worker. I often joke in my reviews that these things are made by Starbucks employees on their lunch breaks. Often a true word is spoken in jest! However. What shall I tell other gamers when I see a "game" that was produced by someone who lacks any of the basic requirements needed to make a game? Of course I will be honest and tell them the game is of deplorably low quality. Who would gladly climb aboard a plane that was made by someone working in a fast food restaurant who never build a plane before? Nobody. And nobody should buy games that are made by people who aren't qualified or talented enough to do so, because the resultant product speaks for itself.
In terms of game development, copying a template/using a game construction kit requires no talent or professional game developer involvement, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Game construction kits are intended to educate children on the basics of game development concepts, and to make games to pass around to friends. They shouldn't be confused with professional game developer produced games, and certainly shouldn't be sold as such.
The developer then claims to have a "nice collection of games", which is unfortunately not true. There's 4 games, and they're all template/asset flips, deplorable garbage. Plus a bunch of DLC... for asset flips. This isn't game development, this is a series of lazy cash grabs. All of which have been dumped into cheap nasty game bundles to try extort as much money as possible out of lazy asset flips and game templates/construction kits. I won't go too deep into the intentions here, but it's worth mentioning there are dozens of completely free, far higher quality games produced by actual game developers who gave their products away because they were passionate about game development before money, and believed in their own product so much they wanted people to experience it without remuneration. Not that I'm suggesting Waste Walkers should be free, even if it was, the quality is far too low to recommend.
Regardless, I will once more raise the key points about this particular game that make it impossible to recommend to gamers (points that the developer, in their confused tirade, failed to address). Pixel "art" used instead of contemporary PC graphics. 2D graphics in the 3D era of gaming. Locked resolution and controls that can't be changed. No working fullscreen mode. Glitchy game engine. These are all the results of poor choices made by the publisher of the game. I cannot recommend this game due to the terrible quality.
I really like the art style and theme of this one. The game has some solid mechanics and a lot of different ways to play. I'll definitely be sinking in a lot more time when I can.

Are you getting ready for real-world SHTF? I picked this up because the theme seemed spot on for 2020 and have not been disappointed. I've played games of this type before but this one feels the most unique in setting and genuinely inspires anxiety. And I like that it's not a very "scripted" game but rather gives me the freedom to move around like I would if I were in the very situation depicted in the game, while still offering the right amount of core "story" and side quests to follow. Waste Walkers will set you in the mood with the right music and "you're on your own" feeling from the start.
The detail you put behind the story is what you make of it, which is what I look for in an "RPG" more than those with pre-created characters and pre-determined stories. The character generation gives you some freedom to imagine very different types of characters that suit your role-playing style, and the choices you can make during interactions in the game can align with that character you built for the world of Waste Walkers.
The combat is typical turn-based CRPG type - but there is a pretty wide variety of techniques and skills you can choose from, so combat doesn't get dull. That said, this is not a fantasy type RPG game with magic, so surviving can mean just having good weapons and solid stats along with some key equipment.
The world is a hostile environment and is against you from the very start. No cute anime bunnies and green fields to roam around peacefully. Literally the moment you walk out the door you'll be a target. You can pick up a lot of loot from the start by making sure to inspect everything that looks like it can be looted, and satisfy your pack rat urges. However a protein bar is not going to turn you into a bulletproof killing machine. You should avoid combat unless you are well-prepared for it, and use your best combat items sparingly. Save those AOE weapons for groups!
Perhaps the best thing I've found so far is that the developer is very active and willing to discuss aspects of the games from Corrosive Studios. It doesn't hurt that the games he develops are very engaging and good.
I do recommend that you pick this up and give it a solid try. Good game by a dedicated developer and the atmosphere as you explore the ruined world alone is worth it.
I wish steam used a 5 star rating system specifically because of games like this. This game was not bad, it just wasn't good enough for the time I spent. I'll start with the pros. This game has a decent size map for what it is, the music and atmosphere are good considering. The encounters and their lethality early game really immerse you into the perilous situation the setting is selling you. The Hunger,Water,Radiation system is a nice little add on. Now the cons. This isn't a grand epic nor does it stay challenging by any means.The main quest is about 4 missions long. Most of the side quests are fetching random junk for random people or travel/kill errands. You will problably reach level 10 by the time you do everything(depending on whether or not you get the party members) and the amount of skills that are worth getting reflect this. I am not sure why, but the weapons are pronounced in a goofy roundabout way perhaps to avoid some sort of copyright, but a pet peev of mine seeing SKS spelled Eskyes. This ranks towards the top for RPG maker titles but against many full featured titles it simply cannot compete. I would give it 2 or 3 stars out of 5. But reccomendations against the entire marketplace are cold and unfair for something like this.
welp its pretty bad tbh. the only challenge that you meet is the beginning of the game - till you get to a survivors station and learn some 'preserve ap talent'. combining it with em-18 weapon which fires 5 shots and kills 99% enemies in 1 round you ll see no challenge whatsoever in the game after that point. a lot later you ll just be able to melee anything in 1-2 hits. so its pretty meh.

Good story and gameplay. The base game does not provide much direction. The character at the beginning of the game is very weak, and it took a few character builds for me to figure out a build that fit my play style. Also, as you level up, you become more capable of dealing with the dangers of the wasteland, making the game more enjoyable. The Awareness DLC is a test lab for you to experiment with different items and monsters, so is very helpful, and there is a lot of information on the WIKI.
I was searching for some RPG's to play during this past weekend and ended up really enjoying Waste Walkers. Whether on sale or full price, I think you'll get your money's worth out of your purchase.
Start by making a customizable character, select from a few skins, pick a few stats, pick a few skills then get going. You can play it in a few ways, there is the nice survival aspect of managing your food/water/sleep. Combat can be absolutely brutal in the beginning, as you are just an average person trying to survive in an apocalypse, but you can eventually get to a point where you can hold your own relatively well, without expecting to be superman. But the skills, both passive and activated are pretty fun to make use of.
There's a ton of characters to pick up as companions, there is a settlement building aspect I haven't even gotten to yet and the story is decent as well.
If you're looking for a good survival/zombie/rpg, give this one a spin.

You will enjoy the looting system, but not the craft, you will struggle to find it. (i have explored almost all the map and found two recipes at the beginning)
You will like to wander freely but this open world is just a middle sized town.
You will fight often, but the screen fight is too much simple
You will search to establish yourself but you will not find out, but miracle exist ;p
There are several quest but the map was unreadable, it have changed apparently
You will like to use the numerous medical items (survival, huh) but the main problem is radiation and it is random, and you can sell all your money to get some pills, the dust storms are impredictable
To avoid the radiation game killing you will save but here the save system is delirious : you buy a sleeping bag, you left click, you open inventory, you open inventory again (yes twice), you open special, you click on the bag, you select your save file.
You will use your keyboard and your mouse but unfortunately the azerty system is not implemented and you cannot configure the few keys
You will open the game in fullscreen but there is no graphic menu, only F5-F6 to change somewhat the size.
i recommand the game still because the developper is here and will answer to all your questions : there is the most important thing.
Gonna change my review. After some talking (and some arguing) with the dev, they've changed the problems for the better.

I was looking for post-apocalyptic survival games to play and stumbled upon this hidden gem.
Not a fan of RPGMaker games but this one is packed with decent story, lots of exploration and combat gear.
You wont be disappointed, just try it out and buy the Disgraced from Corrosive Studios too.
I really tried to like this game. I do think it may have potential, but I can't even get out of the second room as I keep dying.
The controls are super wonky, dont use the mouse. I do think a controller would work best.
The music is great, the sound is what is expected from RPG Maker games.

They have NO KEYBINDING ! How can I play this game without being able to change the keys?! Dev didn't seem like he gave a crud about it... yet another game that will sit and collect dust.
I didn't buy this for a long time because the graphics looked crappy and it was rpgmaker. But it turned out it was better than most rpg I've played. If you like looting in a dark apocalyptic world, going back and selling things, spending nights with prostitutes and just murdering everything you see, this is a game for you.
The controls are wonky at first, you can't alt tab and I would lose my mouse off screen(?) sometimes, but even with that, this game was fun. Definitely looking to see what new games these guys make
This is not Final Fantasy! I bought the game years ago and made the mistaken assumption it was a standard rpg, so I started trying to grind a few low level enemies and kept getting wiped out. Because of my misunderstanding, I gave up on the game till last week. I came back to it, played it as a survival game instead of a typical rpg. Played correctly, it's a brilliant little game, well worth the price.

Nintendo graphics survival game with Final Fantasy combat. It seems very interesting and something I'd want to play but it's just not polished enough to bother putting time into. Menus and controls are clunky and not changeable. Custom mouse cursor doesn't line up properly, mouse sensitivity can't be adjusted and I feel like it changed my sensitivity in Windows.
i am a fan of apocalyptic and retro pixel game but i did not enjoy this game. I might not have studied enough about this game but i cant figure out many things like how to recharge AP and so i cannot shoot my gun anymore maybe im not meant to use guns a lot i dont know. Maybe i havent got enough experience with rpg maker games but i played 1 that is very nice "to the moon" or something its touching.
Das Spiel ist an sich wirklich klasse!
Es macht Spaß, die postapokalyptische Stadt zu durchsuchen und neue Leute kennenzulernen, Vorräte zu suchen und die Gruppe aufzuleveln. Die RPG- Elemente sind gut gelöst: Ausrüstung anlegen und bei LVL-UP Statuspunkte vergeben und Skillpoints benutzen.
DIe Musik könnte etwas vordergründiger sein - unterstützt aber so den Dystopie-CHarakter.
Was mich allerdings ******stört:
Bereits zum zweiten Mal meldet das Spiel NACH dem Speichern einen Fehler. Und nun kann ich den Spielstand nicht mehr laden! Das erste mal nach 18h(!) Spielzeit, nun nach 5 1/2h Spielzeit. DAS NERVT! Und somit ist der Spielspaß auf NULL gesunken....

ja es ist gut wer auf frühere rpgs im rpg maker 2000 steht und auf zombie survival mit kleinerer aufbau möglichkeit . allerdings find ich es mega kacke mir noch zusätzlich etliche addons holen zu müssen für zu wenig spielerischen inhalt +
nach 2 stunden war ich durch wie es funktioniert und das die zombies selten dämlich sind dazu überall respawnen nach 6 stunden war ich gut mit equipment dabei und nach 11 stunden fast durch .
ich geb indireckt wenns im sale ist gern ne kaufempfehlung raus aber so wie es jetzt ist nüscht
The tutorial is missing some things and tooltips aren't always helpful but it's not game-breaking and easy to learn and once i did i enjoyed this game immensely, i don't know why.
It has dated graphics, i'm pretty sure it was made with rpg maker and it's pretty basic too but for some reason i couldn't stop playing it (atmosphere maybe?), at only £7 it has definately been worth that money so far and i'm damn sure i'll be doing another playthrough.
So to sum up you won't know why you like it but after you get past the 1st 30mins of confusion you will.
It was not I expected. The game is nice, but l missed some game improvements, like the explaining of how the game works, the classes, design. And please, change this tutorial, it's a crap.

Waste Walkers is a really fun game to play through, you can explore the 2-D wasteland looting pretty much anything you can find, using a wide variety of melee and ranged weapons in a fun turn-based combat system that makes you pick and choose your battles, adding to the dangerous atmosphere of the wasteland, the main quest is fun to go through and there are some good side quests as well, would definitely recommend checking this game out

An interesting rpgm game that gave me some fallout vibes (being the only other post-apocalyptic game I've played). Quests don't hold your hand and only give general directions. Companions must be discovered.
It has some issues but it can mostly be forgiven due to it being the dev's first game and engine limitations. While combat is hard at first, I found it to become too easy very quickly (except pyros). The game freezes for a second when opening chests / menus due to the sheer size of the map and number of events which can get annoying.
Shockingly the developer is still responding to questions / feedback 8 years later. Yes I found the dam map!
I think it's pretty hard to top Cataclysm DDA all things considered.
But Waste Walkers is a quaint and self contained little adventure that you won't regret playing through at least once.
Probably one of the only RPG Maker games I'll ever buy.
Yyyyuusss! If you're reading this you have that same Particular Itch(tm) that I do - you know, the Post Apocalyptic, gritty, hard scavenging, mercilessly utilitarian one? This game is balanced almost perfectly in that regard. Yes, it has all the...foibles...of its' RPG Maker framework, but as far as an End of the World static sandbox goes, all of the Organ stops are set beautifully for the slow-burn scrounge & mayhem that you secretly crave.
It ain't polished in any regard, and the code dows have its' idiosyncracies - but do not let that stop you from getting this game. (BAM! One stamp of Approval - and that ain't Red Ink!)
Has a lot of potential but is simply not polished enough.
- It's hard to tell what items actually change when you equip them. (does it give me more def than I already have?)
- You can only have two members in your party.
- You're always managing the item weight. It just becomes anoying.
- Most skills are completely useless.
Update, Even after all this time I still stand with my original post:
"The game feels not complete, slow paced and simply a waste of time.
Keep your money and save your time for a game worth playing."
The DLC should have been a free part of the game to give it more depth of play.

Waste Walkers is probably one of the best RPGMaker games I have ever played due to its great atmosphere and complex game mechanics. In its core, it still remains a RPGMaker game though, which means menus have the well known standard layout and controls are both lacking as well as non-customizable.
Yet at the same time I was entertained quite well for several dozen hours.
I do recommend this to all RPGMaker fans heartily, the general public might find it slightly too bothersome though, especially due to the horridly high combat difficulty. You're not supposed to fight much in the first place though, it's a survival game after all.
All things considered, it's worth a look.

A very awesome post-apocalyptic RPG. Very good survival mechanics, and a nice open world. The DLCs, Subsistance and Deliverance, are very enjoyable, and certainly build upon the base game, as well as supplying new characters and stories. Awareness is a sandbox to look at skills, gear and enemies to better plot character growth, as well as learn how items and enemies act and interact. Wouldn't say it's a must have, but it's a great way to learn about enemies and such without risking progress and items for your main game.
TLDR,
Main Game, Good post-apoc rpg, would recommend.
Subsistance+Deliverance: Very awesome extra stories.
Awareness: Useful testing sandbox for items, enemies and builds.
this game is pretty decent for what its worth, i just have one big problem with this game. The map sucks! so badly nothing is labeled and it dosn't track where you are, and you can get lost really easy. i really like the perk kind of systum in this though.
all in all i'd give this game maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10
My first experience with a game made using this engine. Also my last. Shallow story and boring game play. A small world and easy access to late game equipment suck even the minor amount of fun this game could potential possess.

Die größete Schwäche am Spiel ist meiner Meinung nach der Schwierigkeitsgrad. Während die erste Kämpfe noch fordernt sind und man in der Einleitung ja auch gesagt bekommt, das man nicht alle Kämpfe machen soll und ruhig mal fliehen kann.
Wird es nach 30 - 1 Stunde sehr einfach. Sobald man Zugang zum ersten Shop bekommt und seinen ganzen Schrott gegen eine massive Rüstung und Waffe tauscht ist man unbesiegbar. Sobald man noch einen 2ten Char im Team hat um so mehr.
War als ich aufgehört habe zu spielen lvl 16 (Hauptheld) und lvl 13 (Seeker) - Gegner waren in der Regel lvl 8 - 10.
Und mit 1 - 2 Schlägen tod.

Theres now literally no way to be lost in the game. The map you start off with has every single individual building marked with their names. Now you can go to wherever a quest tells you to.
Very cluttered, mostly readable. But you can definitely find anything for the most part.

After posting this review, i noticed the store page description of the game does it a very good job.
i don't know why i play these kinds of free roaming games. It was Fallout 3 All over again. mindlessly walking around the extremely large (for a rpgmaker game too!) city mindlessly trying to find my way to here and there.

Very enjoyable game, the enemies aren't that great though. At first its hell just to get your first few levels etc. But once you do, and get decent gear. I plowed through all of them, since for the longest time they were about max level 6-7 until i fought in a particular location and the overall enemies max levels jumped up to 13 or so. But that still wasn't enough since by the time they shot up to lvl 13. my guys were already 20+
Pros
Large ass city map for the explorer. (a bad thing for me since like Fallout 3 mentioned again, too big, got tired of it, and of course accidentally beating the game when i was semi trying to follow the storyline)
A nice cast of allies to choose from, little to no story for anybody though :(. Since in the aftermath of an apocalyptic scenario. No ones past matters anymore.
Quite a large number of quests, that i have not been able to do them all :(

Cons.
a 'food and water system' that could never, ever, ever kill you. It decreases at such a slow rate, that with all the misc stuff you're looting and scavenging from around anywhere an apple a day could be an apple a week in the game. (theres no actual sense of time in the game that i can tell)
Story or lackthereof. I'm not gonna spoil it for you. its almost as long as this here statement :D (ok just a little bit longer)
enemy variety. just a few, which is ok.
If they weren't 99.9% all alone.
the other .1% enemies if you're lucky is 2-4 enemies in a group together when you fight. so an extremely annoying purposeful grind. (purposeful being 99.9% of your battles you can spot them on the screen and walk by to avoid them. the other .1% the usual random rpg battle encounter while walking around)
Like every rpgmaker game i've ever played. There is no such thing as an inventory/storage organising system.
Extremely frustrating since if you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list to grab some items. The moment you grab one item it shoots you back up to the top. forcing you to scroll. down. again. over. AND. OVER!!!
and boy was this game the worst of the storage systems ever. I would sometimes see the same stackable item (ammo, healing etc) scattered throughout my storage!
example. my storage has 100 items. item #5 is 26 apples. item #68 is 5 apples this weird unorganising storage system occurred to just about anything if placed in storage oddly. the only solution to this would be to empty out storage, so that everything in your now overburdened inventory would fully restack as one item.
The odd laggyness of the game outdoor environment makes movement iffy sometimes. if you're trying to move NE NW SE SW that is. normal N S E W directions were perfect. Granted i haven't seen many rpgmaker games do NE NW SE SW movements well.
****** THERE ARE SETTINGS THAT BY DEFAULT ARE THE LAG = the weather\vision system for one thing was my main lagger. but on all default settings it really really puts you in the atmosphere.

some Wasteland 2 (get it on sale) but NEVER EVER pay 9,99 for this.

Waste Walker is a darkly themed survival strategy RPG created using RPG maker. In the game, The world has transformed into a post apocalyptic dystopia after countries release bombs to annihilate each other. You are a survivor who is looking for your family after you got separated while you were scavenging. You will explore the wasteland of Ashen and meet people, fight bandits, kill mutants, scavenge for loots, and many more.
The world is big and very immersive if you ask me specially when you have the fog of war turned on. Some might find it annoying but I love how it adds this dark and lonely atmosphere that the developer wants us to experience. One problem though, the map may need a bit of work. It is somehow informative but I often find myself getting lost because there is no marker on where I am. But in a way still, it immerses me. I feel like in reality, I would have to look in to a map and try to see landmarks that would tell me my exact location.
The characters are alright, but maybe they can have a bit more life to them. Especially the ones that you can recruit. Maybe a little backstory or a quest that reveals their past or something. The main quest is too short and lack some depth. Side quests are also not that meaningful except for the XP and tabs(curreny in the game) gained.
As a game made using RPG maker, the games graphics is your standard 2D RPG graphics. Nothing that special, but I love some of the character skins. Specially the skin used by Corrosion.
The sound used in the game is sad and depressing, this is good because it reflects how a post apocalyptic world feels like.
Mechanics are similar to classic Final Fantasy games. You enter a battle you choose wether you fight or flee. You can use items or reequip your character during a battle. One difference is that you can see your enemies coming rather that the random encounters while walking inside dungeons.
A problem that I'm having with the game is that I can't open steam overlay during gameplay and I've checked my settings. Also when Im not inside buildings, opening the menu screen takes a long pause around 3-4 seconds.
Overall, I like how the game feels and how it portrays a post apocalyptic world. But there is so much that this game should improve. I'll give it a 3/5. Its good but I don't think many will like it but I still recommend it.

I don't know why, but I loved this game. I really did. The battle system is somewhat Final Fantasy-ish, with somewhat cool looting mechanics and interesting--ish world.
But it doesn't appear to be more than that. The game contains a Main Quest, which should take you 20min. Seriously, it has like 4-5 things for you to do and that's it. The story is shallow as hell when it could've been SO much better. Side quests? More like fetch quests.
Only one character is interesting in this game, which is Corrosion (which is the Developer), and that's it. Your so called "party" can only be composed of ONE OTHER CHARACTER. The others you recruit? Well, they are on LIMBO as far as I'm concerned, because they only "come out" when you switch'em up.
You will get lost. A LOT. The game doesn't have a useful map, you'll have to either print it or miraculously find out that F5 and F6 changes your screen (which I didn't, the in-Steam Forums helped me, THANK YOU!), allowing you to make proper use of your alt-tab. The quests given to you are mostly listed as "Ashen" (which is the city you're at), so if you take one and forget WHERE you took it, welp, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥! Thank GOD the Forums have the Developer AND another guy to help you, because it would've been a HELL to figure some out.
The crafting system is useless. The game advises you "not to engage in battles, you are meant to explore". NOPE. Equip your Sledgehammer, build Strength the F* UP, and obliterate everything. Im dead serious.
Why I liked the game? I really don't know. Makes me remember of isometric games like Fallout, which I love to death. I got it through Humble Bundle, so I think it should be US$1 now. Go get it, because I don't think it is worth more. But I won't recommend it to you because Im easy to please. I was ready to give this a "YES", but completely gave up on that while I listed everything that really pissed me the ♥♥♥♥ off.
But I'll say this: Corrosive Studios LLC, you've got the potential. I sincerely think you do. And thank you for supporting the players in your game's Forum. That is incredibly amazing (and quite shocking to be honest). You treat every single player as an unique human being. I'm looking forward on another title or even some other story'd DLC.

Was pleasantly surprised. As a fan of all things survival and post-apocalyptic, I snagged this while on winter sale. I would honestly have piad full price for it, I enjoy it that much. Will buy the dlc on my next steam purchase. :D

This is the 2nd game from Corrosive Studios that I played. My first game was called "Disgraced" and the gameplay experience was so wonderful that I bought the 2nd game, "Waste Walker".
Waste Walker is a open-world exploration of a dystopian, post-apocalyptic megapolis. There is a central main-quest, and a large number of side quests that are given by various colonists. As rewards, you get tabs (cash), food, gears and even NPC team mates. As an extra benefit, the game even throw in a colony building aspect as well, so that you can also spend time doing colony management with all the spare cash that you get. You can build up a super colony with will provide you additional food, gears, ammo, and you can even hire various personnels to make life easy for you. For example, you can hire scientists which will help you to reduce radiation, guides which help you with teleportation-like travel services, doctors which heals you for free, dealers to supply you with fixes, etc.
The game play is fun and fast pace. The game play is generally light-hearted, except for the ending of the main quest which has a dark overtone. However, it is still fun.
I would highly recommend ths game to any old school turn-based gamer who likes a good rpg with a bit of colony management. Thumbs up to a wonderful game.

I didn't buy any of the DLC's but based on the main game I was very happy with my purchase. The story itself is solved fairly fast but it was a good story. I like all the interaction with objects and people. Although being a short game, I did enjoy what I did play and have been contimplating buying the DLC's as well.
This is the first game ever that I have used the refund function on.
Even though I originally bought it on a 50% off sale, I don't think neither the experience, graphics or especially gameplay are worth that money.
The game feels very much like an half-assed 'Early Access' (which, granted, it being an RPGMaker game makes sense).
But it just leaves too much to be desired and with there being 3475634853 similar titles on the market with way better execution I just cannot recommend WASTING (badumtsss) your time on this.
Waste Walkers is a fairly short but entertaining game.
I did turn off the survival segment after playing for an hour or so. To me the constant hunt for supplies gets boring quickly.

Unfortunately I bought this before reading about the turn based combat. Probably won't be playing it again, if it had action combat I would love it. Great game though if you love turn based combat.

Прикольный симулятор выживания в РПГмейкере, к счастью тут мы еще и развиваться можем, так-что если вам не настигли бандиты при выходе из дома - возможно, у вас получиться выжить в этом постапокалипсисе)
самый большой минус игры - постоянная ночь, после получаса игры она начинает раздражать...
