Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach (Sanctus from here on out) is a quite engaging turn-based battle system that lacks a larger metagame. The combat system, while mostly enjoyable, provides a great core to a game the developers missed the opportunity to create anything that might make the overall game compelling. What Sanctus ultimately is is nothing more than a loosely tied collection of fairly meaningless battles.

There's quite a bit of good stuff in this game. The turn based combat system is quite engaging. It's nothing I haven't seem before but it's well done. I'm not overly annoyed at missed shots as each unit can fire twice during combat plus move. The maps are large enough to allow for tacticians to maneuver and create advantageous positioning, which is really appreciated as so many games turn their turn-based combat into little more than puzzles to be solved because there's no room to move. There's also a fair variety of units, each with pros and cons, making placement, picking the right matchups and combined force strength real possibilities. It does all of this with a combat system that's really not too complex, making this a game that I can pick up and put away at my leisure without really having to remember how to play. Some combat systems are so complex that you're hosed if you don't play for a month as you struggle to re-learn how to play. Sanctus is much more casual.

Because I got the entire pack for cheap before it was off steam, I got all the DLCs as well. There's a lot of content there and I could sink hundreds of hours into playing Warhammer 40k battles in Sanctus for what amounts to pennies per hour played. I probably won't play all that much but if I feel like it, the content is waiting for me.

I also liked the musical score. It's not amazing but it has that bombastic combat sound and isn't something I want to turn off yet.

So there are positives but there are some pretty serious issues with the game.

First, while there are a lot of campaigns, much of the content in the one I'm playing is nothing but filler. There's a mission battle and then 3 skirmishes. Then another mission. Then 3 more skirmishes. The skirmishes are pure filler, designed to provide more hours in the game without providing anything of substance.

But I actually like the skirmishes more in a way because the campaign missions are poorly done. Enemy units come from nowhere with no warning from all sides of the map, which just throws proper mission planning out the window . I can't make rational tactical decisions with essentially no established lines or boundaries. A case in point was the 3rd campaign mission. I had multiple targets and split my forces to deal with each one, balancing the need and moving forces between my groups as the situation demanded. Except about halfway through the battle enemy units spawned from literally every side of the map, just throwing my plans into absolute chaos. There was no warning and no way to plan for such an eventuality. The skirmishes are more straightforward but another campaign mission or two like that and I'll just uninstall the game. Proper planning and tactics should be rewarded and it's not when the campaign missions spawn enemies willy-nilly.

It also doesn't help that the Orks greatly outnumber my forces. This turns the larger campaign missions into slogs and slugfests, which makes everything much less interesting. With so many units, enemy turns might take 5-10 minutes as well, compounding the problem.

The controls seem sketchy - unselecting units seems unusually difficult. I'll click on one unit and get another, I'll right click to clear the selection and it won't clear sometimes, and overall the controls seem to be very fiddly. I've even thrown grenades at my own troops because I couldn't unselect units.

Units ostensibly level up but as a player I have no control as to how or what skills they might get. Even when starting a new battle I only can choose between a smaller selection of units. This makes the level up system and even the unit seleltion system seem random and unimportant.

The biggest issue however is that there's no meta-game here. There's barely a paragraph of a story to tie this whole campaign together. There's no equipping of units with better weapons, or crafting, or base building, or player-controlled leveling system, or any strategic decisions whatsoever. What I'm left with is a loose collection of random missions. This is a huge miss because I feel no connection to this world or my units. I'm basically playing chess against the AI. This game would have been so much better with some overarching game mechanic. It has nothing like that.

So overall, it's a really decent PC version of the tabletop game with some very odd and disappointing campaign battle situations and nothing to pull me into feeling that this is important and part of some larger conflict. I'll give it a thumbs up because the battles are engaging but this could, and should, have been so much more.

Ну лады, у нас тут пошаговая тактика по вселенной Warhammer 40000, наиболее близкая к настольному исходнику.
Давайте начнём с вселенной Warhammer 40000. Она представлена именами некоторых героев вселенной, моделями юнитов и т.н. террейном по виду копирующими настольные аналоги. Всё. Литературного пафоса, стилистики и сюжета - здесь нет. Точка. Модельки в лучшем случае времён 7ой редакции. Детализации новых моделек, выпущенных в преддверии 9 редакции, здесь очевидно нет, но в целом модельки выглядят хорошо.

Наибольшая близость к настольному исходнику, вещь субъективная, но если мы говорим о переложении правил настолки даже на высоком уровне абстракции, близость весьма сомнительна. Есть как относительные мелочи вроде замены запрета на атаку противника при сближении с ним в ближнем бою на дружественный огонь, как и полное отсутствие марш-броска, прорыва, штрафов за использование варпа, совсем другой результат при снижении морали и т.д. Ни о каких стратагемах и тем более фазах хода из настолки речи не идёт. В смысле правил в ней куда меньше от настолки, чем в некоторых других тактиках не имеющих прямого отношения к Вархаммеру.

Как современная пошаговая тактика это самая обычная средняя игра с огромной разницей в количестве войск у игрока и ИИ ( вплоть до сваливания в кучу войск на небольшом клочке земли), заскриптованностью поведения противника по одному сценарию либо абсолютное безразличие противника к игроку пока он на этого противника не нарвётся. Здесь минимально реализован ИИ, которому обязательно надо истратить все очки действия и от нечего делать бросающим в союзников гранаты, или стреляющим по противнику через союзников без попытки этих же союзников обойти. За пределами отдельных скриптов на отдельных миссиях никаких тактик, не говоря уже об их адаптации, нет. Есть только чистое незамутнённое, иногда бесконечное заваливание трупами и перманентное удерживание позиций.

I know this game isn't on steam anymore but this is a waste of time. On the Imperial Guard mission "knights strike back" the objective is not explained to the player and because the game isn't super popular there isn't an easy look up for the objective of this mission. I spent nearly an hour on this mission only to have it wasted by infintely respawning units at the last part of the mission resulting in a loss with no good autosaves. I don't think I've seen a game flagrantly waste my time like this in a long time and with no console or cheat codes to save this doomed run I'm not gonna oblige it by running through the entire mission again. This should've been an easy victory, instead it's leaving me wishing I could refund this 8 year old game. If it does come back to steam, just play on easy so you can't make a mistake that will result in an hour of lost time.

I enjoyed the game a lot. If you'Re looking for a WH40K single player campaign this is your game. Battlesector is nice, but doesn't have enough SP content. Gladius is more a 4x game that turn battles and DoW3 doesn't exist in my book.

Campaign is fun and so is the dlc, the units are all great to look at and play with.

not going to lie. this game is unfair and its moring. but its good practice for turn based combat because its easy to learn and easy to capitalise on the broken units. it teach you that its how you win turn based combat game. by exploiting the most broken unit, the most broken ability/spell, the most broken combo. but the game it also devoid of any story telling. simply but, its trash. just ... i've seen worse trash so i don,t want to be too hard with this one.

Underrated 40k game. Probably one of the best translations of the tabletop to a computer screen, with a more granular and understandable HP/Morale system that still reflects the realities of the source game; a single bolt or lasgun shot probably won't kill a model, but overall fire laid on by a squad WILL kill commensurate amounts of enemies out of cover. A random bad morale roll won't cause a wave of retreats, but breaking a couple of enemy units WILL affect their nearby allies to the point where it makes them easier to defeat. Anti-Armor works like it should in this game, meaning that a Sentinel will OTKO light armor and significantly damage heavies, unlike Battlesector (which is a gripe I have with that game, where armor is absolute king). If you want a 40k property that keeps to the vibe of the tabletop, this is the one you should get.

If you're looking for something close to the tabletop version of 40k, Sanctus Reach is a good fit. It's generally close to the tabletop and has dozens of units from several key factions. While not perfect, it's still an enjoyable time if you have someone to play against.

Overall thoughts:
Gameplay: 7/10 - not bad, not great
Visuals: 8/10 - I quite enjoy the visuals for SR. The models all look good and the combat animations are a highlight. Map design isn't bad either.
Mission Design: 7/10 - destructible environments make a great addition to the maps, which are already solid. Missions are enjoyable in their own right.

I rate Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach seven overpriced Castellan Knights out of ten. If you like 40k, you'll probably have a good time.

A superbly thematic turn-based wargame that offers exceptionally engrossing tactical choices and decisions that is ingenious in strategy and rich in depth.

Positive:
- Living and mechanical units resemble fantastic digital versions of their corresponding miniature physical models, with the graphic design showcasing many intricate details and displaying the characteristics from the various factions stemming from the source material. Moving the many units around the maps feels like a thoroughly electronic experience, while maintaining the indication of a board game lineage.
- All sounds associated with vociferous battle cries and clamorous expressions of warriors, as well as the motorized power-driven clangor originating from machines, vehicles, and weapons are all invoked with a great suggestion of heft and destruction, creating an auditory panorama that is epic and destructive.
- Different terrain types have a major impact on strategic planning and on objective choices, as each square representing an area has a variation of navigable or impassible topography that includes natural vegetation and manufactured structures, providing cover or obstruction, depending on their features.
- Three difficulty levels are available to choose from, including what is equivalent to the standard definitions of easy, normal, and hard. The entirety of all campaign content encountered for the writing of this review was accumulated under the normal difficulty setting, which offers fearsome and challenging inimical circumstances without any indication of leniency. Foes attack relentlessly and with ruthless urgency, advancing toward playable units with intrepid drive, maneuvering around each map with assembled intelligence, formational cunning, and employing organized flanking techniques.
- Tactical depth and strategic complexity are outstanding and a pleasure to experiment with and to absorb by experiential learning. Engaging enemy forces requires a careful study of the physical environment, including its terrain and negotiable paths, as well as necessitating thorough assessments of positional consequences in terms of the distances to the intended targets and the conditional limitations of the many special abilities and unique attacks. The directional placement of units at the end of turns is another major factor to consider regarding one's defensive stance on the battlefield.
- Every unit has their feasible purposes, their strengths, and their weaknesses, and all special abilities have their time and their place for advantageous usages. These attributes are distinctly balanced and complement each other competently and satisfyingly, allowing tacticians to choreograph their armies to perform in synchronicity with their individual capacities.
- Animations and the overall presentation may seem sparse and Spartan at a glance, but this visual bluntness is an effective candid representations of organic, mechanical, and amalgam instruments of war in their purest forms. This generates a nearly perfect depiction of industrialized military entities that serve the miserable purposes of creating carnage, death, and devastation. The apparent artistic frugality present is all discernible aspects is not a lousy flaw, but an elegant feature to be appreciated and valued.
- Saving or loading can be done at any time during all missions without accruing any form of penalty. This makes the entire playing experience convenient and forgiving, allowing the player to quit the game whenever their schedule requires, and also accommodating for variable executions of different approaches to the many fiercely dangerous situations by experimentation.
- Voice-over statements, exclamations, commentaries, and battle cries from units are sensational audio additions to the visual combat actions on the many war zones, supplementing the personages with endearing personalities and mannerisms. They suffer, mourn, cheer, rejoice, and make thematic claims or protests on behalf of their factions.
- All three expansion packs add significant amounts of content in terms of campaigns, units, and battlefields, enlarging the scope of the many conflicts, and introducing new processes for tactical gains and strategic administrations. From massive mechanical machines to hideous alien lifeforms, all inclusions are thoughtfully implemented into the context of the lore, and every applicable technology and practical ability combine well with martial designs and ambitions.

Neutral:
- Plot and story are present only in the form of flavor text in the introductions and conclusions to some of the campaign missions. While this elaborates on the reasons for the military conflicts, such shallow details are of little relevance to the progression through each campaign. The heart of the game really is the gameplay itself.
- Technical performance is generally excellent, running at 144 frames per second with sporadic dips, depending on the size of the map, on the number of units deployed, and on the amount of projectiles fired, but it does involve making manual changes to a configuration file with a settings string that instructs the game engine to use the correct instruction for a desired frame rate. Adjusting the frame rate from in-game menus is not possible.
- Some mechanics are not clearly explained or directly revealed in any way via tooltips or with the aid of the official manual. Discovering how to best utilize each unit's weapons and abilities advantageously involves repeated experimental efforts in conjunction with the knowledge gained from observing the results of one's war endeavors. This process is rewarding and creates a sense of incremental comprehension of the sophisticated features and criteria belonging to the myriad practical components, but some players may prefer a more straightforward method to the numerous specifics and details.
- The in-game music is a single song that is relatively short and plays on an endless loop. While its dramatic aural crescendo augments the war action on the screen, this song becomes repetitive eventually. Thankfully, the music volume can be adjusted and muted.
- Some grammatical errors are evident throughout the descriptive writings related to the intermittent plot. The recurring errors are usually associated with possessive apostrophes missing and overall very poor sentence structure, making the language aspect of the game amateurish and incompetent. These mistakes are not pertaining to the fictional vernacular of the Orks.

Negative:
- There is a launcher and it is completely worthless, serving mostly as an advertisement platform for the publisher. There does not seem to be any way to disable this pointless step in the launching and quitting process.
- A multiplayer mode is available, but there are barely any players online, and there is also a requirement of a third-party account with the publisher.
- Occasional crashes occur when attempting to load a save file. Aside from clicking away the error message pop-up and restarting the game, there is nothing that could be done to prevent this problem from happening.
- Leveling up a unit and choosing its upgrade can sometimes display a bugged, discolored, and warped icon with visual noise, instead of a graphical representation of an ability. Several complaints about this flaw have been posted in the community forums, but despite the acknowledgment of the problem, the developers have never corrected the defect.

♥♥♥♥ this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ -- slitherine knows their ♥♥♥♥ when it comes to making a masterfully incredible, engaging turn based tactics rpg. snactus reach and battlesector display an especially careful understanding of the warhammer 40k universe which carefully uses the themes attention to environmental detail and over the top weaponry to make an immersive, believable, battlefield simulator of an rpg. this game is soooo engaging and fun to play, every animation feels satisfying and every move feels deliberately thought through and most importantly, fair. this is one of my favorite tactics rpgs and warhammer games ever. if youre into warhammer 40k for the tactical wargaming aspects and like them as much as i do and you enjoy the world of 40ks lore -- this game is a must own; i love it.

It's so good, SO SO good. Looks a little rough but it plays just right really defied expectations.

I just wish it had more. Already fairly affordable on it's current pricing but definitely worth a buy on sale.

В этой игре есть баллистика. Вы часто встречали баллистику в пошаговых варгеймах? То есть каждый снаряд из любого оружия летит по своей траектории, и если он промахивается по цели, то не исчезает бесследно, а продолжает лететь пока не воткнется во что-то или в кого-то, ну или просто попадет в землю. А если между стрелком и целью кто-то или что-то стоит, то часть снарядов достанется ему. Добавьте сюда разность брони: танки в лоб можно бить долго и нудно, но стоит подойти к ним с тыла, как все становится намного проще и быстрее(поэтому всегда бди за свою жепь). Атаки по площади, такие как конусные прожарки огнеметами, АоЕ гранаты и артиллерия. Мешает препятствие, но ведь у него есть ХП, а значит его можно сломать - новые горизонты для маневров. В целом боевка - это то, что тащит эту игру, и уж точно ее не тащат:
Графика. Паршивой она была еще в момент выхода много лет назад. Модели конечно дотошно перенесены из настолки, но в этом и пробелма - часть из них имеют всратые пропорции(как в настолке), да и анимированы они примерно как в настолке(на лунную походку дредноута можно смотреть вечно).
Интерфейс. Он попросту ужасен, неудобен, уродлив и местами просто не информативен. В эту игру нужно привыкнуть играть.
Первая кампания за Волчар просто уныла, она носит больше ознакомительный характер и не бросает тебе вызов. Во второй уже встречается минимум одна миссия, где любое необдуманное действие может привести к потере многих отрядов. И еще пачка миссий полегче, но не таких унылых как все, что есть в первой кампании.
ИИ. Он в целом туповат. Временами излишне осторожен. Иногда наоборот излишне настойчив. Но иногда он способен мастерски ткнуть тебя в самое уязвимое место. А еще он просто обожает бросать гранаты по своим войскам.
Локализация. Забудь. Ее нет. Она настолько ужасна(включая технические баги, когда вместо текста просто кусок кода), что даже человек не знающий английского, поймет в оригинале больше, чем на русском.

DLC Sons of Cadia - это то, ради чего эту игру стоит купить. Там совершенно другой масштаб. Там намного веселее!

Ok, so you know Xcom enemy unknown or Xcom 2? You know how those games have squares were you move your units to and you have a percentage chance to hit the enemy each time you shoot?

Apply all of the to Sanctus Reach, then add a little jank that somehow makes the game super charming and you get this game. The campaign just like a lot of games will ease you into things, starting you off with a small amount of space wolves to command and slowly unlocking new units as the game goes on.

The whole thing doesn't feature much voice acting though and you can't play as the Ork side unless you go head to head against one of your friends or play the skirmish mode against the AI. Then you can play as the Ork faction. They seem a little underpowered compared to the space wolves though, which can be a little frustrating if you play against your friend.

What about against the AI though? Buddy, if you face the AI in the skirmish mode I bet you can win as any faction on normal difficulty. They are so so so dumb. It makes really stupid decisions, it will trigger reaction fire from your units, and I once seen it run back and forth like a toddler at a choke point. The obvious move was shooting the rock in the way or going around but the AI ran its units back and forth like a 3 year old that just discovered its mother's lipstick and decided it was time to paint the hallway.

In other words if you're like me and play this game to relax while having dinner you will have a great time. If you're here to flex your tactical mind, you need a friend cause the AI ain't gonna cut it.

Oh yeah, 2 more downsides I really need to mention. this game really needs team colours. One time I was playing against the space wolves as the space wolves. I shot orbital rockets at my own men for 2 turns because I thought they were the enemy. Leman russ would not be proud!!

Also a lot of the factions like the demons of chaos are DLC. So be expected to pay a bit unless you want to play with a few variations of the orks and the space wolves. That's everything I have to say though. PEACE OUT.

One of the best 40k tabletop representations on PC up there with BattleSector and Armageddon. Wish there were more campaigns and more chapters to play as imagine a Rynn's World or Armageddon or hell even an Indomitus crusade campaign.

The game won't start anymore, i don't know what happened, but one day, i tries to start the game and it just won't, nothing seems to be going wrong here, but when i click start game on steam, it just read "launching" but nothing happen, i tried to go into game folder and launch the exe, get nothing, i uninstalled reinstalled several times, get nothing. The game is broken somehow and i have no idea why or how, there is also zero information online. so if you enuncter the same bug problem like me you won't find the answer.

I won' t lie, when I first tried this game after BattleSector I was extremely disappointed. The controls felt clunky and I just felt overwhelmed with things not working the way I expected. I stopped playing and only picked it back up recently.

Boy am I glad I did! This game is full of goodness. It isn't as high fidelity as BattleSector, but I think it is the better game overall - with more diverse units and play. I wholeheartedly recommend.

Sanctus Reach – ty mój słodki cukiereczku, aż ciocia by chciała wytarmosić po policzkach uWu.

Kolejna gra na mojej indomitus Crusade mająca na celu poznanie przeze mnie wszystkich gier w uniwersum wh40k. Mój największy błąd jeśli chodzi o kolejność dobierania tytułów – jeśli macie zamiar ograć ten tytuł oraz battlesector to polecam zagrać w sanctus Reach jako pierwszy na Waszej liście i to nie dlatego że ta gra jest słaba. On i Jego młodszy brat starają się przełożyć bitewniaka jak najwierniej przez co oba tytuły się uzupełniają ale ciężko było mi się przełączyć się pomiędzy nowszym i bardziej „user friendly” tytułem na starszy, bardziej archaiczny sanctus. Czy przez to jest gorszy w odbiorze? Przez jakąś chwilę, zanim przyzwyczaiłem się do interfejsu przeżywałem katorgę zanim tytuł wciągnął mnie w pełni. Przepraszam za porównania między dwoma bitewniakami ale muszę bo się uduszę, są oni do siebie bardzo podobni.

Założenia są bardzo proste, złe zielone orki atakują biedny układ a dobrzy, nieskazitelni wilcy muszą się bronić. Gra to bardziej seria kolejnych pojedynków niż fabularna kampania gdzie na plus wypada dobór jednostek oraz skala starć. Jeśli zależy Wam na zwrotach w fabule, czegoś co pozwoli Wam się skupić na historii to sanctus tego nie dostarczy, battlesector ma lepszą fabułę, kampanię która prowadzi z punktu A do B, a tutaj? Mamy mordobicie i masowe zniszczenie które jest świetnie odwzorowane, obiekty na mapie możemy niszczyć, przeciwnicy rozpadają się na części a po pojazdach zostają tylko zgliszcza. Pole bitwy wygląda na istne pobojowisko pod koniec każdej potyczki i to ten tytuł świetnie oddaje. Czujemy tą potęgę broni kosmicznych marines, boltery masakrują przeciwnika, meltguny rozpuszczają ich na atomy a sprężone działa laserowe rozrywają ich na strzępy. Ile miałem frajdy przy oglądaniu orków których oddziały są rozrywane przez dobrze umiejscowione pozycje obronne moich wojowników. Na gigantyczny plus zasługują jednostki które wystawiamy do boju, a jest ich multum!

Dreadnoughty, czołgi, transporty Rhino, artyleria, piechota wszelkiej maści i kolorów, land ridery, land speedery, no do ciężkiej cholery, jest tego mnóstwo a co najważniejsze – zdobywają Oni doświadczenie a nie jest to ulepszenie jak w battlesector- 1 punkt do celności i szansy na trafienie krytyczne tylko konkretne usprawnienie. Zwykła piechota dzięki temu może stać się bardziej skuteczna przeciwko pojazdom, land Spender może dostać tarczę próżniową, jednostki mogą się leczyć dlatego stracenie doświadczonej załogi boli jak cholera :(

Zdarzyło mi zaczynać misję od początku tylko dlatego że mój land speeder został unicestwiony, a że był na 4 poziomie doświadczenia i sam potrafił masakrować wrogie pojazdy to strata była bardzo bolesna. Wróg wystawia w cholerę tych dwunożnych pancernych kolosów, a że orkowie lubią duże giwery to rachunek jest prosty – spieszmy się kochać swoje oddziały, tak szybko odchodzą.

Co poradzę- lubię Land Speedera, duży zasięg poruszania, dobre działko, szybko uderza i się wycofuje ale jest wykonany z papieru, bardzo grubego papieru.

Moment w którym na pole bitwy wchodzi cały na biało Grey knight masakrując zielono skórych- warto to przeżyć, warto kupić sanctus Reach.

My issue isn't with the game per se - its actually good, but with the never ending amount of WH games being pumped out that seek to rid you of your hard earned cash for the DLC and then devbandon the game not long after. A year or so later - the next turn based WH game arrives to do it all again. It's confusing to know which one to buy,

So far we've had:

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon (2014)
Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach (2017)
Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus (2018)
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War (2018)
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters (2022)
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector (2021)

And those are just the turn based games...ignoring (for example) the DOA Battlefleet games et al. Granted some are more squad based, and don't get me wrong - some of these are great, but what would be better is for one game to do it all well and continue to be worked on. So far, that might be Battlesector which is still being worked on since its release, but I suppose my point is that its a shame this is an exception to the WH rule thus far.

53 hours I've been playing and 50 of those hours spent waiting for my turn.

If you value your time don't play this game, if you don't and want to play a Turn-based wargaming experience on your pc, do play this game. If you got or can buy Battlesector you might just want to skip this and buy Battlesector, it is basically this game concept but much more fleshed out and a bit more flashy this game fells like a browser game and probably is.

Play the game in Hardest mode, enemy AI is basically none-existent it only attacs the closest target with the most hit points so hundreds of Orcs will be endlessly shooting at your Dreadnaughts that are almost impervious to bullets, completely ignoring infantry they should be targeting. Orcs often run around like headless chickens AI doesn't really strategize just rushes in which in this game basically means suicide, it sounds very Orky but it just drags out every skirmish because Orcs just don't coordinate, don't use any adventage exept throwing grenades as the very first action which wastes their grenades.

If you know anything about "action economy" in turn-based games this game has no difficulty. So if you are someone who looks for X-com style challenge you will be disappointed. If you play on easier modes most of the game will just become you chasing Orcs around encountering tiny pockets of resistence like Stormboyz ambushing you, and they don't go for vehicles like they should they just attack the closest enemy and throw an anti-armor granade on a dude for miniscule effect,

Saying all that only for people looking for an engaging Turn-based game who might be disappointed, if you like 40K you will enjoy this, it is fun. Just becareful some intuitive knowledge about 40K lore might cause you to make mistakes the ranged & close combat doesn't mix in this game your Bolters cannot fight hand to hand, which if you are familiar with Space Marines you might be surprised, to see them running away from combat.

This is a game these guys built around something else that has a 40K skin - that is practically 99% of 40K games and this studio's every game they only now begin making their own stuff again -. So just think of this game as a good 40K mod of a adequate Turn-Based Tactics game.

Obwohl oberflächlich dem Tabletop sehr ähnlich, ist das Balancing komplett auf die Space Wolves ausgerichtet.
Die Orks haben quasi keine der Stärken die sie haben sollen. Wenn ein Rhino einen Killabot zerstören kann und Killakopter einen Landspeeder nur minimalen Schaden zufügen haut was nicht hin. Auch die Moschaboyz kommen kaum klar und schaden kaum einen Gegner. Ich bin im Tabletop seit der 3. Edition dabei und bilde mir ein zu wissen wie Orks sich spielen sollten. Wer eine Spielbare Space Marine Battle Novel will, wird sehr glücklich sein. wer das Imperium nicht mag bekommt die typische "Ach ne Xenoskampange könnte man noch nachreichen" Erfahrung und wird mal spüren wie sehr das Spiel den Marines die Hand hält wenn er die Orks ausprobiert. Ein Scriptor bombt 10 Einheiten gleichzeitig und der Wirrkopp kann nicht mal einen Wolfsreiter grillen. Das ist keine ordentliche Rezension sondern mein persönlicher Eindruck, vielleicht sehe Ich ja etwas nicht, aber ich finde es schade, da ich auf ein gutes taktisches Spiel gehofft habe.
