Storyline

After many years of war, much has changed on the world of Yavaun. Humans, reluctant colonists, are now part of the cultural diversity of this alien world. Factions have formed over the decades since the humans appeared. The Overlord Factions includes the allied forces of Tha'roon and Obblinox. The SUN (Servants Under NagaRom) are represented by Shama'Li and Eaggra. Of the two human factions, the Marines are comprised mainly of Marines and the Descendants are scientists and academics. Each factions has its own agenda - and peaceful coexistence is definitely on it.

I can't really give any really useful review or suggestion. I bought this purely out of nostalgia.

When I was a wee bee lad, I was given this game as a gift from my moms coworker and it was my first experience with the RTS genre. She was a kind lady and I appreciated her thinking of me. Sadly she passed away a few years ago from a car accident... May she rest in peace.

Das Spiel macht nach all den Wirklichen 27 Jahren nicht viel von der Grafik her, es geht hier um reine Nostalgie und das macht es einfach nur wett. Der erste teil war schon einfach nur Geil und der Zweite Teil "War Wind II: Die Invasion" ist einfach ein muss unter den Klassikern die man in jeder Sammlung besitzen sollte.

Und für den kleinen Preis und auch für die Zeit die man dort verbringt macht das Spiel einfach nur Richtig Spaß.

Um die Frage der Überschrift mal gleich zu beantworten: Ja und Nein. Statt vier "Alien"-Fraktionen aus dem ersten Teil (wir erinnern uns an Würmer, Gehölz-Dinger, Rhino-like und Kartoffel-Hippies) sind es nur noch zwei. Dafür stoßen aber zwei Menschen-Fraktionen hinzu, eine Militär-Fraktion und eine Forschungs-Fraktion. Ansonsten bleibt vieles beim Alten, das kann man jetzt gut oder schlecht finden, je nachdem, ob man den ersten Teil mochte ;-). Es ist aber auf jeden Fall festzustellen, dass hier das Spieltempo angenehm angezogen hat. Schade ist es etwas, dass nur zwei komplett abgedrehte Fraktionen übrig geblieben sind und Menschen spielen wir ja oft genug. Dennoch ein netter Zeitvertreib, den man sich gut geben kann.

El Juego anda perfectamente en Windows 10, y anteriores.
La resolucion, de 320x480 a 600x480. Igualito al anterior.
La musica y los sonidos se escuchan perfectos.
Las campañas y skirmishes andan estables. Solo que aveces puede sacarte al escritorio.
Cuando quieres cargarlos, es normal que tire error. Solo volver a iniciar el juego y rezar para que no se corrompa el archivo.
La jugabilidad, es similar a la anterior entrega, pero, algunas cosas empeoraron. Como el drama de que la seleccion de unidades, no reacciona bien, como antes. O cuando recolectan recursos. Estos, en vez de buscar otros mas alejados. Se quedan ¨recolectando¨ en espacios blancos, o mas bien, se buggean, creyendo que recolectan algo, pero nada.
Los espacios de las mochilas de cada unidad, es variable. Ya no son 2, si no, que pueden ser hasta 6.
Tambien, agregaron un monton de items que pueden ser usados, y no solo recursos variados para almacenar. Lamentablemente, solo pueden usarla las mismas unidades que los recolectaron.
Se agradece que se agregaran mas unidades y la nueva raza Humana.

7/10 - El primero es insuperable.

Great concept, extremely poorly executed. This is why you QA test your games.

If only this could be remade, an excellent concept for today's desire for more RTS'.

Edit: Whoever made this has done an extremely poor job at optimising it on proper systems. The Map Editor you cannot edit certain bits and it will always window the game incorrectly, making it impossible to edit maps to your liking.

As a huge fan of War Wind 1, this is honestly quite disappointing. Controls are very confusing, much more so than in the 1st War Wind. Technology trees for each of the races is complicated and hard to get used to. The alien races now speak mostly English which doesn't feel as authentic. The mechanics of hiring new units is a huge downgrade from the 1st War Wind in the sense that you can only hire from external villages that do not respawn new villagers. These villagers can be accidentally attacked. Overall, hugely disappointing and the only saving grace was the low cost to purchase this game. Perhaps players without prior experience playing the 1st War Wind would find this ok but for those like me who are expecting a game that improves on the 1st one would be terribly disappointed.
