Cheap but unpleasant game in long run. RNG dependant not only in hero unlocks but also further available defences or heroes. Luck also affects maps, special places, special events and days enemy attacks. On high difficulty its make or break game since enemies are way more tankier. Its sours experience since you are dependent on random event to get item, that will unlock new hero in another. Handful of small bugs and overall lack of polish are also visible.
Hit a bug after 5 hours and cannot get past that. Too long for a refund. Do not buy.

It's a roguelite-city defense game, you build up you base, and defend it, in addition having full control over your units.

First off: my first time running the game was bogus. That is the tips that are supposed to show did not. Nor was I able to "continue" even after beating 2 maps.
You have to run this game a second time, wait 3 times, just for it to work right.
When I ran it a second time cleared some maps, max leveled a hero. Went to continue my game and never ending loading screen.- I even did some chores in case it was just slow- nope! Just never ending.
3rd time playing, beat some maps etc. Now when I continue it puts me in a empty map I already beat WITH my hero's- however, it is at 0/99 waves!!?! The map was only 20 waves total the first time I beat it.
WTF almost ALL games can figure out how to have a save feature work properly. I'm not going to waste time in my life beating a level I already beat- If I did make that poor choice to do it would be far from "FUN" which is the whole point of playing.
In short: This game is not worth your time.
My population dies to random events faster than I can grow it. Can't build anything to defend with.
I love the art design and soundtrack, but the game loop here was pretty rough and unsatisfying for me. Combat just never felt right, and I would have appreciated more granular control over difficulty. More talented players than me will probably have more fun.
ValeGuard is a fantastic game! The Characters are all done really well, both graphics, and design. The Villages you defend, and enemies you fight, all look great. The challenges of getting the various characters are all very interesting... still haven't gotten the Druid yet, but it's only a matter of time. Love the Engineer Character, He is great. It's one of those games you can just sit back and enjoy over and over, or a nice palette cleaner after a bad gaming experience. ValeGuard is easily in My favorites...
Not a bad little game... other than my camera being stuck in certain places, unable to scroll around making fights impossible to manage. Can't recommend it when you have these kind of camera problems.
Veamos, es un juego de estrategia extremadamente basico donde se presentan diferentes estilos de juego como el Stronghold, entre otros. Claramente cabe destacar el precio al que se suele encontrar, es decir, un 80% de descuento (sobre el precio base que es extremadamente bajo), para poder proseguir con mi analisis.
No entiendo como existen producciones de este estilo, o sea, son malas en todo sentindo. No existe punto de vista que este a favor en este titulo. Esta mal terminado por todos lados y no vale la pena poner a especificar cada apartado porque es perdida de tiempo. Te das cuenta desde el principio. Lo unico rescatable es la parte en la que decides sobre situaciones que ocurren diariamente para tener una bonificacion de recursos o no.
Por otro lado, es importante destacar que el juego se presenta como si fuese un RTS estilo Age of Empires. En realidad, no es mas que asignar trabajadores a distintos recursos y apretar el boton para ir al siguiente dia. Lo unico que tiene de estilo RTS clasico son los combates que ni si quiera podes entrar al menu para, por ejemplo, configurar algo o simplemente guardar la partida o salir, por lo tanto, estas condenado a terminar la batalla o cerrarlo con una tecla de acceso rapido de WIndows.
Es un desastre, por eso su valor. No puedo decirles que "no lo compren" porque su valor es infimo. Ademas, capaz alguno quiere probarlo o simplemente tenerlo en la cuenta.
Interesting little game but i don't like turn base games

By no means a perfectly put together game, but a great game nonetheless.
It's hard, it's janky, it might seem simple at the start.
But this is a niche genre I love. Reignfall is in a similar vein. Build a city, focus economy early, get your defenses up, level your heroes/units.
Gets harder as time moves on. The first level will likely be close, gets easier in the middle as you earn more heroes and unlock more technology. The final level is a grand finale. All your heroes will need every ounce of strength they can muster. Every unit you've leveled, every reinforcement you've earned, every item you've found, every tower you've built will be needed and it's GREAT.
This is a fun game, it's a great strategy game but you can tell its an indie title. After you win once, you can start a new game as any of the hero classes you've unlockd. You need to mess around with the special events, not just take every easiest path you find. You will find new hero classes that are pretty varried to what you find before.
First game through you start with a ranger, unlock the knight really easily, you'll probably end the first campaign with 2 archers and 2 knights AT LEAST.
Second game through, I unlocked the summoner and started with that since I didnt have any survive, focused HEAVILY on relying on their summons rather than mixing in melee units and knight heroes.
There's a bunch more you can unlock, a few I missed the opportunities for a few that I saw from the screenshots and wished I'd picked other decisions in events that pop up.
Regardless, this is a great game. If you like tower defense/town management/strategy games and this looks neat to you, you'll probably like it. Just have to suffer through the first mission unfortunately. Bit of a learning curve, but for $10 this is a game you can have some fun with.
I was on the fence with ValeGuard and when I finally got off of it I settled into an unfavorable review / recommendation. Honestly, the game basically seems broken due to too many unpredictable elements. It also has some badly executed elements.
This is a simple-ish village builder / fortress style defense game with rogue-like play and RNG-type events. At it's core, players place buildings to unlock opportunities to build weapons and later troops that can use those weapons. In combat phases players control where troops stand, but certain troops auto attack (and I wish they wouldn't) and certain ones don't auto attack (and I wish they would). It feels like keyboard controls don't work which ruins the experience.
Players also have to manage what to focus on, gathering resources or building stuff. If one fails to build enough troops before a turn limit expires the village is conquered.
ValeGuard's main problem is it's too difficult and the difficulty is off-putting. I'm not wrong on this one; the achievement stats back me up. Most players failed to unlock many of the elements in the game, with things like classes and unit builds stuck between 10% to 25% unlocked across all players. Unlocking stuff is really the main draw in a rogue-like game with progression, and this one is proving too hard to keep people interested in reaching that depth. For a casual-looking game the randomness really hurts it here.
Only 30% of players have been defeated in an end-game situation. That's not due to it being easy, that's due to players giving up on the game before they ultimately lose. Another way of saying that: It's not enjoyable enough to keep people playing.
I have plenty of gripes about in-game problems but, frankly, I don't care enough about this title to list them here. I'll try to summarize some of my issues: I can't predict incoming army sizes; I can't tell if my standing army can defeat them. I can't predict when merchants will arrive so I can't predict when I'll get gold for buying units. The merchants buy random things, much of which I can't make. I can't predict the outcome of random events; some negative results can scuttle a turn and a strategy and likely end a game. Some random events need a positive outcome to unlock a class and both the event and outcome are RNG based.
Could I win this game? I don't know. I can't get far enough into it on easy mode to see whether it even has an end. It may not. I'll probably try a few more times, but there's a chance this one gets uninstalled.
So who should buy this? Rogue-like gamers who love RNGs and want that mess of chaos in a city builder / fortress style defense game. That's basically it. It's not RTS enough and it's too unpredictable to draw in a lot of RTS fans. There's no save beyond making it to a level and then quitting to resume it at a later time. I suppose if one really likes a challenge or trial-and-error games this could be a maybe, but games can be ruined by events beyond one's control - making it hard to get a feel for what strategy really works.

It's really not a bad game overall so this is not a full "not recommended", but various bugs and lack of some QoL features push it more towards a no than a yes for me because they make playing the game frustrating at times rather than the game being uninteresting for my own taste. The game has potential and it was fun to some degree, but a little bit more polishing and a tiny bit more content would do it a great service. If you don't mind getting annoyed by some things working very weird or having to occasionally restart the game, pick it up on a discount.

The game is pretty simple, but overall works good. You manage a small town by getting more villagers and then assigning them to either gather resources, produce weapons, or build building. You can also train units and you get heroes that are really strong for free with each mission. You juggle between using the villagers for building up more economy or making your defense better.
The game works by giving you after each level a choice on what you want to unlock for future levels (I think it always includes 1 defensive building like tower or trap, 1 unit, and 1 free hero unit that you receive for free). That means that depending on the path you take you can end up with quite a different arsenal at your disposal (you can't unlock everything at the same time), and it worked very well as it made it more interesting to have to pick and play around my choices. A full path to the last mission only has a few choices, which is a shame as it makes for a rather short campaign.
During the missions you often get some random events that are either trade deals or randomly getting a good/bad outcome, out of which some are fun, and some are a bit annoying as they can either be really good or really bad. Many of them give you some unique things (like unlock new heroes or get you hero equipment) so they can spice things up if you don't want to ignore them.
Visually the game is quite simple, but still looks nice. Sound-wise it's nothing special, but nothing that makes you want to mute the game either (unless you really dislike derpy language that the units use as they only cycle between few voice lines).
The biggest problem with the game is how some things are unexplained, some are annoying, and some are straight up dumb. You have energy bars on your heroes that they use for abilities, but you don't know how much it uses per cast. You have HP/damage/armor upgrades on heroes, but again, you don't really know how much you're getting. You build a road (which is required to connect almost every building), but made an error or later decided you don't need that road? Too bad, you can't remove the road. You started building a building, but then decided you don't want it? Too bad, resources are lost if you remove it (keep in mind that any building progress is made after you end the day, so removing a building that didn't even get any progress would be equal as an undo). If you want to train a unit, you better not having it too close because they UI will cover it and you'll have a hard time selecting it. Applying armor on units is also something that you don't know the amount you're spending. Building a wall onto a road gives you a gate, but you can't put a road onto a built wall to turn it into a gate, nor can you have a gate without having a road before you build the wall onto it. You don't know how much a repair will cost you.
I have also had few soft-locking bugs where my keyboard controls were not working so I had to restart game during the tutorial and also one of the missions (luckily the game autosaves between each day). Some event made my unit get drunk or something and I had an empty window popping out and no text or button was displayed, making me have to restart the game. In later missions (or maybe only last one) the camera starts shaking after a boss kill and I ended up with my camera offset in a way that I can't see part of map where the enemy comes from because it wouldn't move the camera further in that direction, but I was able to see too much of the other side to the point where I'd see where the textures end, so that was another restart to fix the camera.
Glad the game was fairly cheap too get, it's just way too short. The AI is really odd, ranged units seem constantly like to run into melee. The guard towers are pretty much worthless, the "guards" die instantly and the tower crumbles. the enemies love too just rush right past your units and go straight for your houses. Walls aren't much use as kind of costly and only heavy walls seem to do much for defense. Overall though, the game had potential if the developers put more work into adjusting problems instead of just saying it's done. This game feels like it was a quicky made by students just trying to get a grade in game developement course
It's not a city builder or a tower defense. It's also not a great RPG and has very frustrating combat mechanics. It could be a cool combo with some improvements, but as it stands this combo fails at everything.
At $15 it's not a rip-off, but I would not recommend in it's current state unless it was in the $5 sale bin. Cute for a few, somewhat frustrating hours, then uninstall.

Tower Defense is not listed in the tags but this is totally a tower defense game. This is not a colony sim this is not an rpg and this is not a simulation. Avoid this if like me you are looking for a city builder and not a tower defense.

Very good game. Bought it on sale, and was surprised by the fun city building mechanics and the need to quickly build up your city to establish a defense. I really enjoyed how some of the levels had a unique structure you had to chip away at constructing, like a ruined trebuchet that supported your forces once repaired. Would recommend overall!

Satisfying little Tower Defense/RTS hybrid with a turn-based economy. Lacks the attack command - what is this, 1998? It's pretty unacceptable for anything near an RTS not to have the attack command, but it's not a real big deal here since combat is always in the form of wave defense.
Still, good price point for what's on offer.

Das Spiel fühlt sich nach einem günstigen oder F2P Mobile Game an, also etwas, was NICHT auf den PC gehört und dann schon gar nicht für 8€! Die grundlegende Mechanik funktioniert zwar, aber es sind nicht nur geringe Ecken und Kanten die das Spiel uninteressant machen.
It´s a really nice little game to kill some time inbetween. Autosave on everyday lets you play inbetween pretty much anything.
You can choose what type of units and or buildings you want to unlock depending on the path you choose to the last defense battle.
The only thing I wish for would be an endless mode but overall I can´t complain.
Set in a forested fantasy-type environment, you set up your defenses to slay and ward off goblins, orcs, the undead, along with a variety of evil bosses and their minions. I enjoyed the game quite a bit. Recommended.

Random events will absolutely ♥♥♥♥ you up.
Some 'bad' random events, if accepted often enough (WHY WOULD YOU?!) will grand you a hero... such as the engineer who will be part of your heroes only if you always help smelly travelers that will, most of the time, steal your crap.
So, lots of random events with very bad consequences, extremely hard start... it's ok. The end justifies it... but barely...

The game will crash often and leave you on the loading screen after playing for a while. I was pretty far into the game and once I picked a new mission the game would keep me on a loading screen for hours. I would restart the game and load it up and hit continue just to be met with the same loading screen. I would not recommend this game.
The town building mechanics are pretty arcane by today's standards. At first the overall gameplay loop seems like it could get pretty fun, but that fun never comes.

Highly recommended if you're into strategy. There are different ways to win, according to your play-style ( i'm more of a range attacker but melee and magic options available )
A defensive focused RTS/city builder in the vein of They Are Billions but on a smaller scale and set in a fantasy setting. The controls are a bit odd compared to the two genres it is combining but it plays smooth. The art style if fun and simple, the units are distinct and all have their roles. It is a bit shallow but for the length of the campaign it is about right.
While the different paths provide additional gameplay I think the lack of an editor and community made maps is a huge opportunity out there.
Value metric: Does it have a value of $1 per hour of gameplay? Yes
This game has a pleasent catoon art style with a good balance of colors that make both night and day asthetically appealing. You are presented with multiple interactions with random travelers that make the experience more interesting as well as giving a sense of risk. Like a green thumbed traveler that claims he can "improve" the water, should you trust him or not? The mood and setup of the game leaves one feeling anxious and eager to see what kind of creatures manifest in the evening. Uncetainty of what you will lose to the night only ads to the fun. This game does a great job conveying that feel of farmers trying to protect the land with limited resources.
This is a fun little tower defense/troop management/worker-placement game. Each scenario took me ~an hour to finish, and there are ~5 or 6 scenarios in a playthrough. It isn't perfect --I'd pref an interface that made it easier to know the condition of your troops-- but its charms outweigh its flaws. I'd love to see what this developer could do with more resources, so here's hoping they make a ton of money off of this ^u^.
I bought this game with really high hopes and played for couple hours. But I unfotunately discovered that this is not a finished project. There is a lot of bugs in events and it is just frustrating. I had to close and reopen over 10 times. Because some events such as "danger in expr." was not working. And each time I had to end the game. I was crossing my finger to not encounter any bug. But with the last mission I had do close and delete my savings. Because event was suggesting an orc raid. But after waitting 3 hours nothing occured and game just stuck in that event. I mostly played offline therefore steam didn't collect all my game play time. I hope developer creates a patch for this bug and I can reply this game. But for now this is a definitely waste of money in my perspective.
It's a nice concept, but it's to shallow. Few buildings, few units, few random encounters, etc.
background: I beat the game on medium difficulty once and played 4 hours.
The main problem with this game is mostly that medium difficulty is extremely easy and hard difficulty is extremely hard. I beat the game on medium first try but on hard I lost the first level like 4 times in a row. the only difference as far as I can tell is just the enemies become bullet sponges on hard so I guess you can only combat that by spamming walls. The game isn't fun enough to make me want to figure it out.
the rts mechanics are weird too because you can only get gold from random chance encounters and you need gold to make more troops, although you can just get by on spamming the defense tower that doesn't cost gold I suppose. I think the fact that the game is rng based is really weird for a tower defense. Normally you want a tower defense to feel crafted so you can barely win but definitely can win every time, but rng makes the gameplay loop feel loose.
overall I recommend you just go play starcraft bw ums maps or warcraft 3 ums maps, you will also get much more variety. maybe buy this game if it's 5 dollars or less.
The concept is fine, but the execution is less.

Graphics - Reasonably good.
Gameplay - As a tower defense type game it is short on features. You don't actually won't have a lot of resources to build a significant amount of units or towers. The towers aren't upgradeable and the units only gain exp from fighting, but that is loss when the next mission begin. The only thing that carries over is your hero exp and the few items they have. The heros all feel the same because there is very little that differentiates them. The troop movement is insanely slow so you waste a lot of time repostioning them between each wave.
Since there is no saved game once it crashes you have to start the campaign over from the beginning. I tried playing three times only to have it crash at the last mission or 2nd to last mission which is very aggravating. Sometimes it will let you build a road in an empty spot while other times you have to try multiple times.
Overall the game is okay, but needs more bug fixes and could use more variety with the hero, units, and tower.

You really made a simple things unnessessary complicated. There are hundreds of good RTS games to get ideas of right interface. Why it must be so hard ? Where to assign workers to make army? How to make more axes? Days passed, no axes created.. Really horrible interface.
The annoying popups with text in the FACE really annoy me. They appear not like a tip as they should somewhere on the side, but RIGHT IN THE FACE like an error window in Win 95.. Horrible idea.
Kasperski anti virus keeps deleting valeguard.exe saying it is a malware trojan. not sure why? You need to sort it out guys!

Fun and "simple" city builder / defence game.

This is a great blend of tower defense, RTS, and city building. The decision to make the city building aspect a turn-based affair was quite clever, and allows the game to flow nicely. The music is good and the balance feels fair to the player on normal difficulty. Additionally, the rogue-like campaign offers replayablity in both linear and non-linear ways.
Notes to the developer:
- There is a bug that can occur when purchasing items from the black market vender and dragging the item to the hero's equipment slot. The bug manifests as the item not quite sitting in the equipment slot, and disappearing from the game entirely after the inventory window is closed.
- There is a bug that can sometimes allow you to place roads underneath towers in the final stage.
- If walls are built on top of units without a road underneath, the units can become entombed inside the walls after they are built.
Over all, ValeGuard is a nice little indie-game. It's a unique combinitaion of Real-Time-Stratagy with Turn-Based city-building and RPG style events. It's U.I. feels a little cluncky at first, but once you've played a few games it's feel less choppy. As for replayability, each game you complete unlocks more to play with (Heros, units, buildings, so on,) so you could spend hours defending towns and still find new stuff to play with, even though the maps can get a little repetative. And the thing that sold me the most was the stratagy behind working with the units you have (since each completed game is random generated, each town gives you different buildings and units you use to defend the next.)
That said... The game does have a more than a few annoying glitches... Enemies tend to phase through gate-houses, the Summoner falls into a spazm (leaving her unable to attack or move) when you try to summon with her, unit's glitch out into the landscape and buildings. Which I honestly expect from an relatively cheap Indie game, and as it's currently receiving updates I expect these bugs to be fixed in the near future.
So I would recommend this game for its unique gameplay and solid replay ability. Its a solid RTS despite the little bugs, and the turn-based city build is nice and simple, but still has a decent amount of content.
Worth Every Penny. Its fun and deep gameplay tends to pull you in and keep you hooked as you go from town to town building and defending until you are sure the hordes have passed. Give this little Gem a try if you are looking for a colony builder/defender. with plenty of heroes and upgrades to keep each replay fresh and exciting. 5/5
Игра хорошая , но сырая и не доработана, потратил кучу времени , много раз начинал заново, результат всегда один, при прохождении уровня , окно загрузки залипает играет музыка и всё, ждать можно очень долго и впустую, в итоге через диспетчер задач выключаем игру и при включении вновь, выбирать продолжение бесполезно, так как будет та же зависшая загрузка, только новая игра и снова всё по кругу.
After finishing the story mode of this game on Normal difficulty I can say I am happy with my purchase. The game does not exactly introduce anything new in strategy games, but for the price it has been a good experience. My favorite mechanics of this title would have to be the puzzle quests of figuring out how to aquire new heroes and unique troops you can aquire from the signal fire, pumpkin patch, and items.
Suggestions I have for improving the game would be to increase the length of missions it requires to finish the game and finding a way to reward the player for training troops because it's almost a waste of effort on resources when it takes 3 days to train a squad and the specific mission is only 25 days long just to leave the troops when continuing to the next mission. Maybe a survival mode with a larger map would be an easy fix? Infinte days would challenge players to get the most days survived and give more satisfaction of caring for troops instead of being canon fodder for the heroes to level up in the backline.

Bad Northのsteam版発売を待っていたものの、
ちょっと物足りそうな雰囲気があるので色々できそうなこちらに決めました。
何よりHeroが育成できて次に持ち越せるのが良いですね！
ゲームの流れは↓のような感じ。
昼間の間に建築予定を立てる、兵士を雇う、売買して（商人がいるとき
時間を進める際にWorkerの割り振りを決める。（建築に何人、採掘に何人など
夜には毎日イベントがあり、物資の増減や敵の攻撃など様々。
これを村ごとに決まっている日数守りきれば次の村へ。
最後は必ずボスクラスの攻撃がありますが、それまではイベント次第。
守る村を選択するのですが、村ごとに仲間になるHeroや物資、学べる技術などが決まっていて
選ばなかった村は滅ぼされます(笑)
Easyで始めて3時間くらいでラスト1つ前くらいなので、ボリュームがちょっと物足りないかも？
まだ行ってないルートや、難易度でどれくらい遊べるかが鍵かな。
その他Heroも固有のスキルを持っていたり、装備させるアイテム（1個だけ）で魔法が使えたり、
押し付けられた謎のポーションを使って爆発してみたり。
英語もそんなに難しくなく、ポーズもできるので気になったら買ってみても良いと思いますよ！

分かりづらいところを念の為書いておくと、
槍を4本集めると槍兵が雇え、弓を4本作ると弓兵が雇えます。
条件は右下のTrooperから見れます。作るのはWorkerの割り振りで選びます。
Armorは雇うときにも使いますが、槍兵にArmorを付与したり（最初はArmorなし）、
HeroのArmor回復にも使用します。
HPは日付が変わるとちょっとだけ回復、旅のHealerにお金払って直してもらう、
モンクを雇ってHealを使わせる。
馬は厩舎を立てるとそのうち生まれますが、食料いっぱい使うので序盤はジリ貧注意、
Rangerに馬を使わせると近接になるのも注意(笑)
あとはユニットの右上の鍵マークでその場をロックor遊撃くらいかな？
I tried my best not to write a negative review. But the game is poorly optomized. I've had the game for 3 months and it has been unplayable. The mouse scroll speed is slow and glitchy as well as WASD. It's a novel concept but sadly Valeguard is yet another example of Early Access done wrong.
Just played this game and WOW, I have only played a short time but this is certainly a game that I can get into, its extremely fun and seemingly unique, The simplistic system and fun combat makes for a super fun experience. Its also quick to learn and easy to get into.

Habe das Spiel gerefundet nachdem heftige Grafikfehler den kompletten Bildschirm verdeckt haben und damit das weiterspielen unmöglich gemacht haben.
An sich mag ich das Spiel das managen macht Spaß und man sollte bei den Entscheidungen die man treffen muss immer vorsichtig sein, aber im aktuellen technischen Zustand ist es leider wie gesagt unspielbar.
Best game I've bought in a long time. Been looking for something like Settlers7 for a while and this popped up and was cheap so checked it out. A steal at $13US. Played through a few times. No bugs after a dozen or so hours(other reviews complain of bugs). Still unlocking heros. Replayability is high. Game length is just right.
Even on easy it's still challenging. If you aren't paying attention, you won't win every time just because you're breathing.
Would like a save game option. There are no do-overs here. If you screw up, you've got to live with the concequences. It does allow you to continue from where you left off if you leave in the middle of a game but would still like the option to go back in time to try a different tactic if your strategy fails.
Buy it!
So much fun. Quick to learn, sit back and relax.
The only thing I am missing is steam cards.
It is interesting if you have nothing to do but i would love a turn based multiplayer race to either destroy the other players or complete some quest
too many visual bugs. Event boxes overlapping each other. Its more an early access game.
Extremely repetious. You are basically racing against the clock. Once its over...you go to another area and do the same thing over and over.
I bought this game and played for what i thought was an hour.... 5 hours later the wife came home and got mad at me for not doing anything 10/10 would disappoint the wife again. Great game.

The Dev has been incredibly hardworking to provide updates and fixes to the game.
When I feel stressed I like to just play this game on easy and enjoy.

Just awful. The game looks like it was made to run on phones yet still struggles to perform. Gameplay is slow and unintuitive.
Feels like one of those games that a Game Design student made for there final assignment then just dumped it onto steam.
Loved it, simple pure defence strat game with an engaging rogue like campaign, bring on other modes / more missions.
valeguard i a great game with a great concept and a great developer to top it off.
do not under estimate this rogue-like no run is the same especially with each run being different with the wide range of. starter characters to unlock and use during each run.
to finish it off this is a good but challanging game but you choose how you fight.

В общем игрушка с простой механикой и низким порогом вхождения.
И да, чтобы здание, после постройки, активировалось, к нему должна быть проложена дорога - это была единственная неочевидность в игре.

Jogo muito divertido, porém com uma historia muito curta, o que da uma sensação de vazio quando voce termina.
Acredito que o jogo seria muito melhor se tivesse como defender a vila por mais tempo do que os dias necessários para cada fase. É desgastante voce evoluir seu territorio para no 25 dia ter que começar do zero em uma vila nova...
fora isso o jogo é muito bom, comprei na promoção e acredito que o jogo nao deveria custar 27,00, pelo menos nao por enquanto. Espero que futuramente acrescentem algumas coisas para melhorar o entreterimento...
I love the graphic design and the concept, however at this time I have to give it a no.
I have played 20 minutes, and so far I have had to Alt+F4 three times because the UI doesn't load properly and I can no longer continue playing it.
I have also played on 'normal' (which is the second option out of three) and had to restart a new game twice because I lost after getting attacked by demons two nights in a row (1st night and 2nd).
Soundtrack is great as well, though.
I really enjoy the turn-based decision-making that you need to make for this game. There's still a few issues with it, which will hopefully be fixed soon. The most notable is the game-breaking bug with the Cemetery optional "quest" not spawning any enemies, which leaves it stuck in the night cycle with no way to exit short of Alt+F4. Unfortunately, reloading the save keeps the same broken quest outcome, making the graveyard useless.
I am surprised this was not caught before Early Access release, but perhaps it is a recent bug...
Valeguard is fun and challenging, and there are many different tactics for beating the game, so that makes it very different every time you play. There are also a lot of different map routes and levels, so the maps of each level are different too. Great game! Exciting and challenging, fun and addictive. Definitely recommend.
This is a turn-based defense game, where you build resources and grow your army. On every turn there is also a scenario that is presented to you where you have to decide how to deal with that scenario. This leads to positive, neutral, or negative consequences. I personally really dislike turn-based games (I prefer real-time strategy) so I did not find the game enjoyable, especially because of the mini scenarios each turn (e.g., do you turn away a beggar or not?). Also, compared to more simple tower defense games, here you can control your army, but I was not a huge fan of that because the controls for movement were not as precise as I would have liked. I don't like how Steam requires you to vote yes or no with no option in between, because although I do not recommend the game I don't think the game is terrible-- it's just not my style.
This game is difficult on normal, I havent even attempted hard (valeguard). But I enjoy that gives it a spice for sure. Quite a few of little bugs and things to work on. but overall very nice. Cant wait to see more updates.
I cannot recommend this game to anyone who uses Kaspersky's Antivirus. It thinks the game is malwre and uninstalls it. Unless of course it actually IS malware. Then I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If it ceases to be malware than I think it would be a pretty good game.
A very good and fun game developed by one person. Really deserve your support. Simple to play but have some strategic depth and interesting unlocks.
This is a great game. I have really enjoyed it and the replayability is quite strong. The random events are truly random and I've found two additional heros so far and working towards others. The dev seems keen on continuining to improve the game too which is a bonus.

- A bit short , wish there was more missions , quest, campaign , etc
- Pathfinding for units can be improved. 20% of the time, units are "stuck" or "lost"
- No top town view, hard to see things behind towers or walls

First review I've done, mainly to give credit to a one man show. ValeGuard is a tower defense game of sorts, where you defend against waves of incoming enemies as you travel from city to city defending against 3 factions. I have beaten the game on standard difficulty (about 9 hrs if you take your time) this is based off of one playthrough.
Pros:
-Visuals
-Scaling difficulty
-Variety of different units
(that play differently!)
-Time slow/ special ability use
-Meaningful choices on which towns to capture
(ie. rescuing x town gets you x unit for rest of game)
-Interesting random events
Cons:
-Clunky controls
-Early game units seem to become irrelevant late game
-Cant tell the strengths of some enemies
(are armored units better against some factions? ranged?,
player needs more information and enemies more specialized)
Overall, good game, I am really happy to support an endeavor like this one. Despite all the complaining the lack of map "wasd" control does not make the game unplayable... You can see the entire map. However coming up with a grouping system to organize units/abilities might be helpful. Well done man, I think you should be very proud with what you have here. *Just remembered, bridgebuilding mission is comparatively easy to other missions.
The game can be roken down into 2 parts - the vilage sim and the night time tower defense.
the vilage sim is the worst sim I have ever played - bland, boring, terrible event design, 0 replayabilaty
tower defense is better, but it's still very bad, especially if we compare it to other tower defense games like kingdom rush.
and that's the game - a stew of terrible vilage sim and very bad tower defense with a mix of forced rogelite in 0 replayabilaty game and abysmal controlls.
真不敢相信这游戏是一个人制作的！游戏是好游戏，就是不能移动视角！画面就那么大块地方，不能移动视角弄得非常蛋疼。而且选择英雄与部队也不能鼠标拖动，只能一个个点：( 敌人从哪个进攻口涌入是不确定的，这点还不错，就是一旦涌入那蛋疼的一个个点击的操作实在很不适应，好在还有暂停。

Early Access (5/14/18): I am really enjoying my time with this game. ValeGuard is an addicting mix of Tower Defense, Real-Time Strategy, and City Building. Each village (level) has a different setup, so you'll want to figure out where you want to build, and where to defend. There are many types of heros with different abilities that will also level up after experiencing some combat. If those heros surive they will also be carried over to the next village (I was very happy to see that). The game has depth to it, and there are a few different systems in place that you must keep in mind to be really efficient, but it's not super complex or the type of game that is going to take a long time to figure out either. Once you hit that sweet spot of increasing your population, so they can do different tasks, while building up an army and improving your heros it gets really satisfying to see your plans come to fruition. Also, some great music that really sets a mood that goes well with this type of game (if you like good and relaxing video game music I recommend getting the soundtrack). As of this review I am over 4 hours in, and it already feels polished and more complete than any Early Access game I've played. The game starts at a great price, so if it sounds like something you'd enjoy I'd say give it a shot.
5/18/18 update: Just beat the game last night (on easy), and my original opinion stays true. I died at the end of the 3rd village on my first run, and the second run went smoother since I had a much better understanding of the game. It was very fun. Next I'm going to start another run on the next difficulty, and pick a different route. The different routes add to the replayabilty since it does't have to be the same villages every time. You also unlock more starting heros, so the variety in combat helps, too. Recommended!
Update: The game gets better with each update. Improved camera controls and adding a lot more things that can happen during a stage are some of the real nice changes/additions. The game also proves fun to come back to. Very enjoyable all around.
TL;DR
The game is fun and has enough content for the price. There are some bugs and UI problems but you should know this, it being in early access. Overall I would recommend buying the game to try it.
The game is beautiful. It is like a tower defence game and a city builder had a love child. The game has a lot of interesting takes on what you would expect in their respected genres. You have to balance your workforce to make troops and gather resources. It does take a level or two to learn the mechanics but it is well worth it. I would recommend you buy the game while its on sale!

Overall the game is very much still playable, which is a great achievment being in early access. Most of the Cons are just cosmetic/ make the experience easier/better for the player. The game is a really cool new take on some popular genres and is a must try if you enjoy either of the genres.
Really good game so far. However not fully explained in tutorial:
1. Do resources and troops carry on to next town?
2.you cannot build on roads execept walls to form a gate,
3.you cannot destroy roads which gets really frustrating
4.when sending troops on mission you have no idea wether or not they will be sucessfull even with higher level troops
5. scenarios which you have to respond to are always the same with little impact on over all game
thats all i can think of on the top of my head right now, but its a really good game
Worth buying, no game breaking bugs, fun gameplay, good music.
Fun, sort of short (5 hours at the time of review) tower defense / with rpg and strategy elements. However it does have replayabality as you unlock more heroes through your play through are able to start new games with a different class. As well you are able to pick between 2-3 missions as you progress and these unlock your technology and provide you with further heroes for the next missions. The heroes are persistent through the campaign and by the end you have 1 from each level, unless they have died, then they are dead forever. Also there are random events which pop up and will have an effect on your run.
I would prefer if some of the maps were longer and really let you build up more. Maybe even larger maps that could be panned around as well, as right now the screen is locked in one position and thats the full size of the map.
I also dislike the low health armour of some of the melee units and their lack of being able to "Hold Position". I find they die to easy and are not worth getting too many, but thats more of a personal goal of trying not to lose any units when I play, maybe they are meant to be disposable.
In Valeguard verteidigt man ein Stadt gegen diverse Monsterhorden - ein klassisches TD-Setup, nur als RTS angelegt. Während des Tages sammelt man Rohstoffe bzw. baut Gebäude oder Waffen, in der Nacht kann ein Angriff kommen. In jedem Level muss man eine bestimmte Rundenanzahl überleben und die finale Welle am Ende überleben.
Die Idee an sich gefällt mir recht gut, nur ist die Umsetzung der Kämpfe aktuell grauenhaft, da ist auch EA keine Entschuldigung. Das beginnt schon damit, dass man normalen Einheiten keine Tasten zuweisen kann und sie auch generell nicht gruppieren kann - jede also permanent einzeln steuern. Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass man nur Bewegungs- und Angriffsbefehl geben kann - Einheiten machen sich selbständig, wenn sie angefriffen werdne. Die Helden hingegen bekommen automatisch eine Taste zugewiesen, da diese auch Skills und Items haben (bis Level 3 nur je 1, weiter habe ich nicht gespielt).
Allein dadurch werden die Kämpfe extrem fummelig und bei Angriffen von mehreren Seiten kaum zu koordinieren. Hinzu kommt noch, dass man die nicht scrollen kann, sondern nur an eine Stelle hinzoomen kann. Auch hier schwierig bei Angriffen von mehreren Seiten.
Der Städtebauteil ist trivial, es gibt kaum Gebäude und die sind ziemlich teuer, sodass man nur recht wenig bauen kann.
Zwischen Tag und Nacht weist man noch Arbeiter verschiedenen Tätigkeiten zu (Bauen, Rohstoffe sammeln, Ackerbau, Waffenbau) und dann kommt der Angriff oder eben nicht.
Nette Idee, aber die Umsetzung ist im aktuellen Statium furchtbar. Da ich davon ausgehe, dass es bei Valeguard letztlich immer auf hektische und fummelige Kämpfe hinausläuft und auch der Managementteil nicht besonders großes Potential hat, habe ich Rückerstattung beantragt. Schade, man hätte hier durchaus ein gutes TD mit ein paar zusätzlichen Elementen schaffen können.
Absolutley amazing attention to detail fantastic design (all balencing, UX and concepts) would reccomend to any who like city builder strategy.
It reminds me of FTL in how it requires you to improvise, and how your decisions on the world can negatively or posotively impact the game (also the combat pause function).
At the top of its game in RTS indie, honestly 10/10 - nothing major to improve upon aside from a couple of bugs im sure the maker is aware of.
Also has enough of a story to keep you wanting to defend your town :)

Imagine driving a car and finding out you can only turn the steering wheel when you are sitting in an upright position with your head against the headrest, two feet perfectly on the ground and hand at ten and two. That's what it feels like to navigate in this game and why I can't recommend it. A basic permise of RTS is being able to move the camera with the usual WASD or at least with the cursor. In this game you can only point to an area and scroll in and out. I get that the maps are not huge but the restriction feels weird and is super annoying. Not sure why they thought this would be a good idea but it's not ideal for an RTS where you need to constsantly be looking at different points on the map. Change this and I'll buy this game again, right now this little thing annoys the crap out of me so I can't play it. Had to refund for now.
This will be a review "in progress." I was compelled to buy this game after reading the description. The concept of the game seems brilliant. I am eager to play it. I am pleased that I was not first confronted with a ridiculous over-lawyered "user agreement" (an all-too-often event recently that has caued me not to buy some great games, and give up others that have suddenly introduced such an agreement after purchase). I plunge right in. I am immediately impressed by being channeled into what seems like a well-intentioned tutorial. The excitement builds. (I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, at my age). I run into a bit of a glitch, or perhaps I did something foolish. I restart. It will be hard to dissuade me. The concept and the care already displayed are just too good. And the graphics, already, are charming. I'm not a teenager, so why on Earth am I here? Let me suggest: the creation of video games is one of mankind's currently most useful endeavors. We will slowly wind down to a 30-hour work week as automation prevails and eliminates the competent but ordinary. I know, that seems laughable at present. But just wait. Life is moving on, my friends. And the ability to create interesting alternate realities is growing in importance, not declining.
I have now played for about an hour (I'm not at all sure why the Steam-counter shows only 0.3 hours, since that doesn't seem at all accurate).
I've been repeatedly defeated, although my understanding of the game has steadily grown. At this point, I like it -- and feel patience with the game is deserved. The tutorial could be improved a bit, and it would be nice to find my available troops more easily. But the game continues to grow on me.
An Excellent mix of building villages then defending them in real time. I love the different heroes and the overall looks.
Super replayable!
Wow, I just downloaded the early release and it's so good. After a long day at work I was just going to give it a quick try and go to bed. 3 hours later I'm still playing and feeling compelled to rate this game so others will try. It's a great mix of tower defense and RPG, but with strong elements of everything from Civilization, Warcraft, and even D&D. You can level up your heroes/units, which is a huge plus for me. A lot of classes to unlock and each one I've played has a different feel. Buy this game and get the soundtrack too! It's very catchy, and great for background music.
