Scummy move to be free to download and then to charge 30$ to just play multiplayer. If the game was just 30$ upfront I would not complain. But a shady practice like this does not deserve my money or support.

there are some bugs that let your game crash or sometimes make it harder to play
the kids: there are many kids that scream the N word or are just loud
but otherwise its a nice and cool game

VAIL is overall a great VR shooter. This game has some very nice gunplay mechanics, the guns feel amazing to use and shoot. VAIL also has a nice variety of game modes to play and try out. This game also runs amazing, always. I think this game is also one of the best competitive VR shooters that are currently out right now. The reloading mechanic could be better honestly, feels like it works like 75% of the time. VAIL also has a pretty good weapon selection, and the sights look absolutely amazing. One of my favorite things about VAIL are the optics/sights. Oh yeah, and the Extraction mode DESPERATELY needs content updates and fixes. There is a lot of map issues and overall flow/feel to the extraction mode. Extraction mode is a 7/10, it's not bad but not great. But, overall, VAIL is a great VR shooter, highly recommend.

this game seven in beta is very well thought out and intuitive. they are promising many more features and upgrades as they refine their game.

Came here to leave a review and I usually don’t . Originally got this on the quest with vail combat and moved over to pcvr. This game is worth 30$. Are there a lot of micro transactions , yes, do you need them to play the game or do they add any advantage no. So 30$ for a full out the box shooter multiplayer game is good in my eyes. Only thing I don’t like is the fact that, quick play is a boring system for game modes etc . Wish each game mode had their own play list . the free combat training doesn’t do the game justice . 30$ for cod on vr , vs $70 on pc. Stop being cheap

downloaded it with high hopes with my friends only to see you can't do anything without paying why do you list the game as free to play if you are going to make me pay later i'd pay for the game if it was paid normally but i won't support this at all
(a side note you can fix no sound problem with choosing SteamVR on OpenXR Runtime options if you are using Virtual Desktop)
Says free but dont get decieved it asks for extra payment even to play quick play, if you choose extraction you can play 1 round every 5 hour, just make the game paid at this point

Is not optimise for literally anything I tried running on my pc this is the specs/ gpu:rtx 4060 msi cpu:AMD ryzen 5600g memory:24gb ddr4 forgot speed psu:650w 80 plus good brand drive:msi nvme 500gb WiFi:enthernet 500 download 70upload vr:meta quest 3 connected with a link cable and with all of that it can’t run vail like i have run bonelab boneworks forefront best savor project third eye gorilla tag and more with these specs and it worked fine but then i try playing vail and it starts but it is insanely laggy with the setting having no hope bc u cant change anything like the quality or anything so it just runs at max assuming it will run smoothly like no. Would highly not recommend for pcvr unless u have smth like a 5090
This is one of the best expieriences and compepetive shooters available in VR, i was blasted away how cool it is and was training to play the artifact, scanner (bomb plant) and once i joined after 6-8 hours in regular modes, i was really really dissapointed that there is no economic and buy menus for it (first round pistol and then just regular loadout) it ruins the balance as i could spam AWP and just kill players without any backlash, many guns arent used at all just because you can always have a better analogue. second biggest dissapointment was no ranked mode, i saw devs reply that there are not that many players, but if there was a rank grind it would be the motivation for players to play this mode, if you add some rewards for reaching a rank, or like a legendary create for 20 matches played or reaching something it would resolve the issues.
I was so hyped to jump into ranked to find out there is none, it would also give a rank for your skill as for now all are yapping about their ammount of kills which shows nothing but a long play time.
7/10 for now as the whole game is perfectly made for a ranked mode but none is there.

This game costs at least THREE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS. It is NOT FREE.
This is a pretty bland and generic VR exclusive FPS with a "metaverse" social hub bolted onto it. It's most remarkable for the absolutely insane developer greed on this cash grab. Seriously, the monetization on this garbage is pure cancer.
"VAIL" is a dying PvP game. Why is it dead? It's time for a video game autopsy, because I can't be bothered waiting 2-3 months for it to completely die.
[i]Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails.[/i] Developers often assume just because they published their game, it's going to "go viral". I'm guessing this is a case of the developers making this game in complete isolation without even bothering to look at what other PvP games on Steam already offer.
Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost.
This game lacks any meaningful solo content. The developer tried to use other players as a substitute for real work like level design and story, gambling that just because their game exists, it's going to magically pull the entire player base of Counter-Strike 2 over to this failure instead. They lost that unwise gamble. A game with no players and no solo content is a dead game. Developers need to stop relying on players as a substitute for real content, just because they feel creating genuine narrative, level design and so on is "too hard".
The assets look a little mismatched but they're also much higher quality than the actual game. It's a bit of a red flag for an asset flip, but there's no evidence or smoking gun in this case. While there's no proof, the overall low quality of the actual "game" part (an important part of the whole package that makes up a game) is indistinguishable from an asset flip, and no matter where the assets came from, the quality here is bad.
It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool.
You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me.
On the important matter of pricing and value for gamers, there's a lot going on here with monetisation, so this really shouldn't be considered a truly free product because of that.
There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $30 USD for this... that's just peanuts to the DLC gouge.
It doesn't stop there, this game is also infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this.
It keeps going... there's an INSANELY priced $USD monthly subscription they expect you to pay for. WTF. The subscription prices are higher than World of Warcraft. That's cancer.
Even after that, you're expected to pay up [b]$310 USD[/b] to unlock content through DLC purchases. The game should not be considered completely unlocked until you empty your wallet for the developer. This is misleading and predatory pricing on a product falsely marketed as "free".
All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.
The pricing on this makes this nothing but a really nasty cash grab. Don't walk away from this cancer. RUN.

Amazing... Plain out a great game. Good lore, good player models, amazing skins, amazing gameplay. My only 2 problems are DLC content like the Smoothbrain pack does not need to be 30$ as well as other skin packs. The only price that makes sence is Vail Combat. Also PCVR is a little laggy and hopefully you can fix it. Other than that amazing game!

Fix your game, I barely get the time to play games and when I do I expect them to play how they are intended. I played 2 raids today and in the middle of both my gun magically stopped working (gun fired and reloaded) bullets seem to not exist. The bullets seem to ghost through any target I shot at, this lost me 2 million dollar loadouts. I was hoping that the game would have improved monumentally since the last time I played it was December of 2025, but seemingly the game has gotten worse and more boring. Quit focusing on micro-transactions and A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION TO HAVE A SECURE CONTAINER!! I have put ~$350 dollars into the game with the hope that I would get a secure container for backing a free to play game. If you are reading this before you buy an edition of the game, DO NOT give these greedy devs any money. AND DO NOT BUY THE FOUNDERS EDITION!!!!! Just try the game. IMO the game is a hot load of garbage, if you are looking for an extraction shooter play Tabor or contractors. Until this game improves Ill just give what little time I have to play games to Tarkov.

Tried the extraction mode and good lord is it buggy, 3/4 games I encountered a bug that costed me my run,
- 1st run I use the grapple to get across a gap but my teammate grabs the handle on the other side and that makes me drop into the void and die
- 2nd run my bag didn't spawn on me so I end up using one that was floating in the air which bugged out my guns to treat them as if I was shooting a wall in front of me at all times and when I try to grab my knife the game lags out immensely. First guy I run into I die only finding out I was glitched out after he tells me
- 3rd run I'm in a fight against someone with my teammate and he says "Hold on I'm gonna crash them" I then look at him grab spamming his knife and within a second my game crashes. plz fix
Other than the literal game breaking bugs, The gunplay and extraction loop is still pretty good, they gotta add some kind of visual feedback when fighting the bots such as, sparks flying off it or it jerks when a shot lands and they could make them more challenging to fight since they only attack based on vision at the moment. Could make them follow nearby gunshots.
It's a far more laid back of an extraction game when compared to Ghost of Tabor or Exfilzone, since there's no limbs, food and water systems, you have a map with your extraction points and can you can still see a count of all your weapon's ammo which is not stashed in your backpack.
I see the vision, just not in it's current state, hopefully everything is ironed out.
Not paying to PLAY a free to play game

Probably the most fun I've ever had in VR. Extraction mode is AWESOME! The clutch feeling of extracting with a bag full of loot is beyond comparison.
Gun mechanics? Incredible.
Matchmaking? Smooth, stellar game modes, nearly no wait times.
Easy recommendation, don't pass on this game.

This game is really really bad, its straight out of a 2015 mobile game where you are basically not able to play unless you spend a ♥♥♥♥ load of money.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, free version doesn't allow to play with friend.
To be frank it allows to do nothing except deathmatch with crying kids.

разрабы заблокали ру регион, давать деньги таким "людям" смысла не вижу, пусть дальше прыгают по деревьям и едят бананы.
вы скажете "это не разрабы, ркн заблокировал мету" а с какого хрена я в стиме завишу от меты?
скам на покупку vail combat (кстати ахуенно придумали, продавать доступ к игре через длс, чтобы нельзя было вернуть деньги(СКАМ)), как минимум потому, что они всё ещё не доделали игру (игру за касарь), и она ощущается в 2 раза хуже бета-теста pavlov shack.
1. Регистрация попаданий? Что это? Как это купить?
2. Позиционирование звуков отвратительное, тошнит от этого саунддизайна.
3. Ощущение оружия хуже чем в шахматах.
Сообщество состоит из: очень громких 5 летних умственно отсталых дегенератов, 16 летних анимешников тимкиллеров и сперматозоидов-киберспортсменов.
