Bought this mostly for nostalgia. I remember playing a demo from a magazine years ago, ScreenFun, not sure if it was German or Serbian. That demo stuck with me, so getting the full game now just feels like finally coming back to it.

Well i'm kinda new to TrickStyle, it's a great game.
It have some annoying collisions bugs when you ride and bump into invisible wall, but that not that annoying as "rubber band" mechanic: your opponents can't be too far if they in front of you(they literally standing and waiting for you to catch up), also they always has to be your tail a single failed shortcut at the end of race track and you are lose the race. Its like you can do whatever(it does not affects the race) before you are near the finish, just don't let timer runs out.
So it's like nothing matters that much as the last shortcut before the finish.
Even though i'm enjoying the game.
Game know how to create tension by using timers, opponents cancel whatever animation they were using to use Attack when you get near them (literally every time).

The basic controls work, but the tricks outside of ollie, speedluge, spin, boogiedrill, and stall don't work at all. So I can't do tricks in Trickstyle.

i played this back in the day on the dreamcast... decided to search it on steam and i found it! instant buy! although this game is missing some songs from the original, it was still fun to play i wish the game had more levels. but i truly enjoyed my time playing this game
Первоначально эта игра была на SEGA DREAMCAST и лишь потом ее портировали на ПК. Игра довольно сложная и кривоватая, да и на дримкасте она не принесла кучу денег и звезд с неба... Прикольная физика, музыка и графика (на момент выхода игры, у нее действительно была очень хорошая графика), но все остальное только бесит... Враги все сплошные супер-убер профи и что бы вылезти из обучения, вам нужно будет через голову просто перевернуться, настолько все сложно... Я дал бы этой игре среднюю оценку, но ее нет, поэтому я все же порекомендую ее, но с оговоркой - ТОЛЬКО ДЛЯ ЛЮБИТЕЛЕЙ ХАРДКОРНЫХ И ОЛДСКУЛЬНЫХ АРКАД... И, пользуюсь случаем, хочу сказать, что я делаю киберпанк музыку. I'm glad I was able to relive my childhood memories with the Steam version. But to be fair, it has aged poorly and is WAY TOO short. I wish I could play it like it was the first time, on my old desktop that ran Windows XP, in my old bedroom. Damn, I'm getting old lol.

The me from over 20 years ago had a great time playing the game in local co-op. A racing game featuring hoverboards, which was rather unusual, and awesome music, was more than enough to have a total blast. I'm having a similar fun replaying it on Steam Deck. Despite it not being shown on the store page, the game works well on Valve's handheld. Just make sure you grab a custom controller setting made by one of the users; it makes everything so much easier.

TrickStyle is a futuristic hoverboard racing game released originally for the Sega Dreamcast. It's cool for nostalgia's sake but does not stand up for today's standards.
The controls are pretty janky and the UI scales terribly. Graphics and vibe is still good but I cannot recommend it for new players.

This game is terribly broken. Before you can begin playing, you must first map inputs to your controller. The issue here is that the game doesn't signal which inputs correspond to their default buttons, requiring me to look up the original controller layout in the Dreamcast manual. Once the game begins, it's a fairly standard hoverboard racer with mildly jank controls. I frequently encountered issues where doing the luge would not connect me to a luge grind rail, but it never hindered my ability to win all races. That is, all but one race. The final race.
The final race is a gauntlet of challenges which require mastery of the controls, with not a single checkpoint in sight. If you fall off the track, it's back to the beginning. The final obstacle in this sadistic gauntlet is none other than the luge grind rails, which I repeatedly failed to connect to. As a result, I spent more hours on the final race than I did the rest of the game. It took me two and a half hours to reach it, and three hours just to finish it.
I never got to play the Dreamcast version because the disc my console came with hardlocked on the loading screen, but I'm glad it's more readily available in this day and age.

I have huge nostalgia for the era and genre of this kind of racing game, but it feels like complete ass to play. And it doesn't recognize modern trigger inputs natively.

I can throw away $6 and be perfectly fine with it. But what I can't do is own a game that doesn't work. All the controls are on my keyboard. My game controller doesn't work. I won't pay it with out these controls.

Yes, TrickStyle will deliver those nostalgic vibes, and I am grateful to have experienced this classic now because I never owned it on Dreamcast. But this game will test your patience. The slippery controls will undoubtedly give you the authentic feeling of riding a Back-to-the-Future-style hoverboard with no contact to the ground, which is, however, exactly what I found so frustrating. Buy TrickStyle if you like this kind of challenge and are a glutton for punishment like me.

游戏最令人懵逼的是按键设置，功能按键大概除了left、right外都摸不着头脑是什么东西
然后直到引导部分才会告诉你对应的动作是什么，但此时你早已忘记了当初自己绑定的快捷键是哪个
只能再点开按键设置界面看一眼自己的设置、换一个熟悉的键位完成这部引导，然后重复
也许在当初是个非常不错玩法的游戏，但如今确实不怎么推荐，画面落后，相同玩法的游戏也不少见

[b]TrickStyle[/b] - это футуристическая трюко-гоночная аркада на ховербордах от создателей серии Burnout.
Выбираем одного из 9-ти харизматичных подопечных и проходим гонки в трех городах мира - Лондоне, Нью-Йорке и Токио. После пяти гонок в конкретной локации открывается т.н. "битва с боссом" - либо набор необходимого количества очков за трюки на закрытой арене, либо подбор максимального количества сверкающих сфер или битва в гонке один на один. За победу каждый раз получаем новую модель воздушной доски.
Выполнение трюков (и набор очков) в гонках строго опционально, но некоторое преимущество при передвижении всё-таки предоставляет. А вот если случайно врезаться в оппонента, то с ног на доску упадаем только мы.
Интересно, что серии "Выжигание" еще не было, а прохождение чекпойнтов на время в проектах Criterion уже было!
Кроме гонок на тренировочной арене можно повыполнять и разнообразные вызовы на прохождение чекпойнтов, набор очков, сбор сфер и опережение тренера.
Присутствует и режим для двух игроков (необходим геймпад).
Графика, конечно, сейчас не поражает воображение, но по сравнению с Extreme-G 2 выглядит весьма достойно.
В Steam-версии с запуском на Windows 10, музыкой и игровым процессом всё в порядке. Пожалуй, главная претензия к перевыпуску - это сброс назначения клавиш при каждом старте игры. Ходят легенды, что это баг оригинала, а лечится он подключением геймпада. Я затестил - настройки всё равно сбрасываются.
Еще можно упомянуть и про таинственное исчезновение части текстур после прохождения игры.

棱角分明的人物建模，画面也非常地老，由于是老游戏也就不说什么了。

Great game from the Dreamcast era.
TrickStyle has a brief learning curve, but once you understand how to execute the main moves it all comes together. It's not a long game, but it can be fairly difficult, expect to replay races a lot. Replaying races never felt like a chore for me because TrickStyle is so fun to play and I always felt like I was improving.
There is an occasional delay when executing a move that seems out of place with the otherwise tight controls.
TrickStyle is an easy recommendation for anyone who likes games from that era.
(Played on Windows 10 with an Xbox One controller, no crashes, overall it ran well.)
Great port. Graphics work fine and copntrary to most ports, the RT and LT buttons on the XOne controller work just fine.
Caramba, esse foi o meu primeiro game de PC, e nunca imaginei achar ele aqui na steam, comprei na sale mais por causa da nostalgia, e bem, tecnicamente falando o game tem um trilha sonora eletronica incrivel, gráfico incareditavel para a época, ele é meio hardcore e os leigos em games de manobras e corrida irão passar algum aperto nas fases, mas acho que essa versão da steam tinha que ter alguns updates, que a desenvolvedora trabalhe mais nisso, ah, e coloque uma textura em hd e tragam mais novidades, valeu, jogo muito bom ! relembrando meu pc caixotão pentium 4, hahaha

There's a strange bug inside this game. I had to restart my computer to stop the still running bug I only played this like 20 mins but it said I've been playing this more then +10 hours, Poorly mapped out port for the PC.
I've been wanting to play this again for some years now. Thank god for Steam. Playing it in 4K, 60 FPS is amazing. Just wish they made the textures a little better but I'm not complaining. Next up, Hydro Thunder Please!

I absolutely love this game, never owned the original Dreamcast game but I'm glad I could pick up this classic game today.
It has everything that made games from the late 90's and early 2000's amazing:
- Amazing OST,
- Fun and Simple gameplay,
- Stylish setting and artstyle
and many characters to choose from.
Also a 2P mode that seems to be 1P mode but with another player (haven't tested it yet) but that is amazing and I wish more games did this.
Summary: Amazing game if you're into classic games, racers, futuristic games pick it up. =) I am glad that I did atleast.

[b]Summary form first Impressions:[/b]
The game is a LAZY port from the GOG versuion to Steam. No effort has been made and you would be better off purchasing it from there as it has less issues as its a standalone game. No effort to make ANY fixes to that version have been made. It looks very dated now due to very dated resolution. Controls are a pain due to the port to PC. And sound... I couldnt be bothered to try and fix.
At this time, you would be better purchasing the Original Dreamcast Game and then Emulating it through the PCs. Then you have the options of Resolution through the emulator and controls setup for Pads as standard.
[b]UPDATE SINCE RELEASE PATCH[/b]
A token effort has been made to update the game after they realised people would not stand for a re release of the GOG version. Developers taking down reviews and comments, dubious reviews made by low standing accounts? In the deffence of the update, I noticed I could now use UP and DOWN in the menus and I now have SFX in game (Still no music?). I still stand by everything stated above and you are btter off emulating this classic game.... better quality and standard of build.
Maybe soon updates will improve the compatbilty and [b]true[/b] reviews will start to surface :D
