I loved how puzzle mechanics, combat and RPG elements work together in meaningful ways. Though the presentation is rather simple, I also liked how the story and characters kept me motivated.
This game was not fun.
The movement and powers you can use are random due to the tile grid. The combat is unbalanced and the characters have a tiny amount of actions that makes the game more an exercise in frustration than anything else. The story is okay, but miserable. (EVERYBODY'S DEAD... except your characters... in a town of hundreds.)
I didn't have fun with this game and I regret buying it.

Enjoyed the moving over the grid to power up mechanic. Set myself the goal of obtaining every talent token from all four episodes which made the game more challenging (and longer as some are mutually exclusive necessitating multiple runs). Has character colour text and a story to tie it all together but the story is very predictable.
Such a fun game. Made me feel stupid sometimes when I messed up, but tbh that is a good thing for a game like this.

It's an interesting puzzle game. The theming of it reminds me a lot of the Puzzle Quest lookwise. The mechanics are very different though. I play it casually, but if you want to get the good stuff grinding is a bit slow. Other than that, I have no complaints.
A pleasant surprise. Got it for cheap on sale and love it! Unique gameplay, captivating storyline, what's not to like? Ok, the crystal weapon upgrade system isn't worth the effort, but that's easy to ignore.

Cool, casual and colourful.
Well, it's meant to be casual (a port from pocket phones, short missions perfect for short sessions, small maps, light on resources...,) however I found myself regularly engrossed for hours on end, always going for just one last mission after another.
It's addictive.
It's also much longer than anticipated, lots of missions, plus the optional ones, plus the optional challenges.
The latter are occasionally quite hard at the time they become available. I had to come back much later for a couple of them.
Challenges provide most of the skill points, and I found the story missions easy in comparison. My guess is that if you skip the optional content, then the difficulty shifts and the story missions are not easy at all. In any case, it's well balanced.
Besides, any mission can be replayed at will, even after story completion. An opportunity to try them with different power sets, and different character combinations.
Other things that exceeded my expectations include the art, the attention to detail (the way characters duck their companions' shots never ceased to amuse me,) the variety of mobs, of mechanics, of powers (some of which quite spectacular,) of tactical options...
The music is excellent, the combat one so energising that you forget it's turn-based.
The only possible improvements I can think of concern little details in the GUI.

This game is fun. I get more impressed with the depth of the strategy as I go along. I'm currently on the second chapter and it keeps me coming back for more.
Why does this game have an LGBTQ+ tag on it? I have confirmed that straight people can play it too. I saw the silhouette of two girls kissing during drama at some random point. That's about it.. That's not even necessarily gay...???
The story is an excuse to fight robots, mutants and thugs. I don't mind it. I see other people complaining. It's a pop-comic theme and I like the upbeat art style and music.
The real game is in the endless fighting on the grid. The colors have meaning to them. You upgrade your powers. You learn to play multiple characters with unique skills over time. It's fun. It's interesting.
I bought this during summer sale at extreme discount. But I would have gladly paid a bit more for it. It's a good game.
With 4 chapters, Ticket to Earth is an interesting attempt to combine and innovate upon a number of genres, including turn-based tactics, match 3+, rpgs, and visual novels. I think overall it's admirable what they're reaching for, and it's a worthwhile addition to most of the genres the designers clearly enjoyed.
At the moment, I didn't spot any obvious game-breaking bugs or broken mechanics. In my run-through, everything worked as it was supposed to. There aren't any moments where I was left wondering where I went next, although after a while the sidequests seem set aside, which makes sense to help players get to the final stage.
Some players may not like the constraints/railroad or lack of consequences for Ticket to Earth: You can retry a mission as many times as you need to until you win, and in some cases it's better to restart a mission to try and get a better starting tile layout for your characters. The characters don't die, but "nope out" and are fully healed for the next mission (except if you used a justice power and reset it, then you have to collect those tokens all over again.) So, you don't quite need to panic that you'll have to go through the next 2 or 3 chapters without a major character's powers to back you up. You also won't be presented with a bewildering array of choices or feel a need to give the sword specialist a gun or vice versa. People have a very static equipment tree. The crystal crafting element to enhance weapons almost never came in handy. At a 10-20% chance to activate for most of them it was a nice attempt but after a while I stopped stressing out about collecting them. The approach to leveling up is at turns straightforward and a bit arcane in its logic but also doesn't seem to really affect most battles.
The art is fitting and engaging for most of the characters with a good range of emotions and angles for each character during their dialogue sequences and I think over time, you'd be able to recognize the world of Ticket to Earth from afar. The overall storyline isn't quite Shakespeare but the twists are fun and the characters are for the most part well-formed for the roles they need to play. I'm not left wondering very often why they're motivated or if I'm missing some crucial subplot information for accidentally skipping a cut scene. I wouldn't say it's quite up there with, say, Citizen Sleeper, but I enjoyed it more than the dialogue for X-Com: Chimera Squad. I think I would have appreciated multiple ending options but it works for where the studio is at in terms of development resources right now.
There are instances where it would have been nice to play with the whole team. The game often obliges you to pick 2 out of 3 or 4 for a given scenario. Sometimes the story is set up where that makes sense., but other times you might think: Well, what, are the other people just sitting on the sideline like a tag-team wrestling match?
Getting a multi-tile combo and then hitting an opponent is usually a very relaxing and satisfying process. And I think that's part of what ultimately wins me over here. It's not absurdly easy, but it's also not Axis and Allies and X-Com like Phoenix Point, where you'll have to worry if you blew it right before the mid-game and the rest of your experience is going to be a slog or you'll have to start all over. In individual battles, I'm also not worrying too much about tactics and enemy movement patterns/weapon capabilities like Into the Breach and a few others.
Ticket to Earth fulfills what I think is a very interesting bar for itself, much like Invisible, inc.: There aren't many other settings or ways to present the mechanics of the game except in they way it's been presented here. I don't know if this would quite work in say, a feudal fantasy setting, or giant mecha, or a hardcore Rainbow Six/Team Fortress setting. I'm always on the lookout for something that stakes out its own territory next to X-Com and Jagged Alliance, and I feel like this is a good game to turn to once you've completed it to kill some time but can't spare tooooo much time. An average battle seems to take you between 5 to 30 minutes, ,and you won't feel much of a need to save every 3rd turn unlike many games in this genre. Some players will love that, others will hate it.
I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did, but I do like it and consider it a good value if you know what you're getting with this. The venn diagram of players for whom this is perfect is a little wild, but I wish the developers all of the best in whatever they come up with next. Good show!

The base gameplay is pretty enjoyable, the first hours were easy to get into.
Once the mutants show up the difficulty ramps up a lot and the imbalances and missing gameplay polish show up much more clearly. The progression tree is huge, but pretty one-dimensional. And most of the extra skills you're using don't feel like offering that much actual use. Granades for example have an area effect, but their effect feels really low and usually enemies crowd around you, so you're guaranteed friendly fire. And your performance is constantly dependent on luck, as often you're not given the necessary panels to get enough effect, especially when enemies are swarming you.
Finally i don't get why there is a seperate dialogue menu. I guess making story optional is nice, but the way it's presented is boring and doesn't feel like there was a lot of passion involved.
Get it in a sale.

The beginning and the end are strong, the middle two episodes drag on a bit and I struggled to force myself to get through it. The battles start to get really repetitive but I do admire the creativity of the combat system.

I bought this on a lark and didn't expect to get nearly as hooked on it as I did. The mix of turn-based tactics and tile-matching puzzle is a lot of fun and quite a bit deeper than I expected. There's just the right amount of RPG, not too fiddly but with enough customization to feel satisfying. The visual style and worldbuilding are inventive and engaging, and despite somewhat simplistic writing I'm finding myself really engrossed in the story and absolutely loving the characters. Definitely a pleasant surprise!
This is such a fun game! I have just finished playing and actually can't wait to start over and get 100% in all the bonus objectives! Ticket to Earth is a really compelling game with an awesome sci-fi plot you want to follow through to the end. I love the art style and the sassy characters and I hope there are more games like it on the way - the puzzle/RPG combo was something I really enjoyed.
Thought I'd leave a quick positive review because I think it deserved more attention than it got.
It's a combination of match-3 and Final Fantasy tactics-lite with the benefits and limitations both bring. There's a lot of game here but the gameplay doesn't change much beyond gaining new bonus powers as you progress. I still enjoyed the core gameplay enough to finish it, which not many people have.
The story's not great (replacing every swear word with 'fleck' is quite silly) but a large amount of the dialogue is optional and all of the main story stuff is skippable.
If the concept appeals to you, I recommend giving it a try.

В основе геймплея тут лежит хорошем всем знакомая — и порядком поднадоевшая — механика «три-в-ряд». Пробежал персонаж по цепочке одинаковых плиток — набрал очков урона. Чем длинней цепочка, тем больнее достанется противнику. Ударил — счётчик сбрасывается до минимума, пропустил удар — потерял очков на величину пропущенного урона. Нет прямого пути до врага? Придется побегать кругами, накапливая силы.
Звучит довольно обыденно, верно?
Ладно, добавим четыре слота под активные умения, которые заряжаются за пробежку по плиткам определенного вида и четыре параметра, которые определяют урон от этих умений. Добавим ульту, для которой надо собирать выпадающие из убитых врагов токены (первоначально десять, потом прокачав можно уменьшить до восьми; падают не со всех и доступны ограниченное время). Добавим выбор умений и прокачку параметров. Добавим два вида «валюты», выпадающей после боя — кредиты открывают новые умения, жетоны — параметры.
Всё ещё чего-то не хватает?
Добавим четырех героев, постепенно сливающихся в команду — с разными специализациями и характерами. Добавим четырех боссов-антагонистов — тоже разных, и, внезапно, не отзеркаленных с героев (пара негативов всё-таки есть, но один обусловлен сюжетно, а другой с вариациями) а ещё нескольких полубоссов, тоже со своей историей. Добавим множество разнообразных врагов и игровых ситуаций, которые не дадут игроку вспомнить, что он всё ещё играет в «три-в-ряд». И, наконец, добавим сюжет.
Впрочем, про сюжет я вам много не расскажу, потому что бессовестно пропускал в начале все диалоги. Вроде как дело происходит в марсианской колонии Нью-Провиденс, где губернатор решил свалить на Землю, террорист Зеро решил вернуться и отомстить, хитрожопая Малэди (Malady) решила половить рыбку в мутной воде, а наша первая героиня, садовница Роза, решила, что местные радтараканы совсем распоясались. Начало первого акта не то чтобы сильно вялое, но простоватое, однако с появлением в команде второго героя и сюжет, и боевка становятся бодрей.
[b]Про боевку.[/b] Если поначалу это был довольно примитивный паззл, где главное было поймать прямую дорожку до оппонента да подлинней, то очень скоро носится и лупить мечом уже не получается — враги становятся жирнее и злее, добавляются всяческие дополнительные условия. Например, второй акт проходит на равнинах мутантов, где довольно прохладно, поэтому персонажи получают урон от холода, если не заканчивают ход возле источника тепла (а на ход дается всего два действия). В свою очередь, некоторые из мутантов превращают плитки, по которым двигались в отравленные — из них тоже можно собрать цепочку, но за каждый шаг герой будет получать урон. В третьем акте появляются противники, которые атакой могут обнулить заряды для умения. Самонаводящиеся мины, хилеры, турели (неподвижны, обладают фиксированным уроном), бомбарды (ходят, лупят АОЕ и по своим и по чужим, но вначале целятся и можно убежать) хрупкие, но мгновенно звереющие берсерки, зараженные — это не считая банальных стрелков, бойцов и громил трёх фракций (люди, роботы, мутанты) и боссов с минибоссами. Несмотря на то, что все уровни — это арены, куда запускается куча противников и несколько героев, задачи не всегда сводятся к kill’em all. Иногда надо сломать нужный объект, продержаться несколько раундов до открытия выхода или собрать запчасти с убитых.
[b]Про персонажей и прокачку.[/b] Главных героев тут четверо, по числу параметров и плиток. Роза — боец ближнего боя, поэтому быстрей всего получает бонусы от плиток с изображением руки и силовое умение у неё основное. Вольф — ловкач-стрелок, плитки с рисунком глаза не только дают ему бонусы и перезаряжают умение, но и увеличивают радиус атаки. Вторая пара персонажей тоже милишник — стрелок, но их основные статы — Здоровье и Разум. Прокачка, как говорил выше, проходит либо за кредиты, либо за жетоны. Кредитов насыпают в конце боя по какой-то своей логике, иногда ещё они валятся из поверженных врагов — немного, сущая мелочь. За них покупаются активные умения, вроде кругового удара, рикошетящего выстрела или массового лечения. Умения у каждого свои, но собраны в четыре группы (умения силы — прямой урон, умения разума — манипуляции с игровым полем, замена типа плитки, например). Жетоны даются за выполнение дополнительных задач в бою — убить врага на первом ходу, пройти арену за семь раундов, пройти без использования умений или наоборот, используя все четыре, etc. Больше трех задач быть не может, четвертый (или единственный, если у вас, как у меня, лапки… из жопки) жетон дается просто за победу. На них покупаются то, что в игре зовется Talents. Это увеличение статов персонажей и пассивные навыки: перезарядка ульты требует меньше токенов, определенные плитки дают не единичку урона, а два или даже три… Пассивки у всех в основном одинаковые, но есть и уникальные для персонажа. Так, здоровяк Док с копеечным шансом может убить врага одним ударом (у меня ни разу не сработала, другие, с более высокой вероятностью - да).
[b]Про сюжет.[/b] Он тут есть, подается диалогами и комиксными вставками. И сюжет довольно неплохой — я даже превозмог лень и с третьего акта начал переводить. История простая, стороны конфликта полярные, но неожиданные ходы присутствуют и драмы в конце поддают, поэтому не буду раскрывать карты — можно подумать, вы играть в неё пойдёте! — скажу только, что финал разыгрывается на космическом корабле, который вот-вот полетит на Землю… и выхлопом своего движка превратит колонию в очередные равнины мутантов. Так что героям, а вместе с ним и игроку, приходится торопиться — и, должен сказать, что динамика чувствуется.
[b]Про недостатки.[/b] Игра затянута. Третий акт стоило бы сократить вполовину, четвертый — на треть. Неудивительно, что до финала добрались чуть более 2% игравших. Меню — кошмар. Оно доступно только с главного экрана и перейти в один клик, допустим, из вкладки «Оружейная» во вкладку персонажа, чтобы узнать, на сколько ему ещё стоит прокачать Ловкость, чтобы купить вон ту пушку, нельзя. Заходим в «Оружейную», смотрим, выходим, открываем меню параметров… Но ещё больший ад прокачка этих параметров. Просто оставлю это здесь, потому что цензурных слов у меня нет.
Такой вот мобильный экспириенс, смазывающий впечатления от неплохой игры. Однако финал мне несколько их выправил, поэтому 7 токенов Правосудия из 10 ставлю уверенно.
Is it a bad game? No, but I don't recommend it because the gameplay is too repetitive and the game lasts too long.
Throughout the game you have to move the characters you control on a grid divided into cells of 4 different colors, trying to obtain the largest sequence of consecutive cells of the same color. This increases the damage you can deal, limited by the type of weapon you have and the character's abilities, plus other effects.
The problem is that the whole game is based on this concept, and you have to always do the same thing for more than 20 hours. Honestly after 15 hours I gave up, I didn't care anymore to continue.
If, on the other hand, you like to repeat the actions indefinitely, then buy it, otherwise you can avoid it or buy it at a fair price.

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. The characters don't have flawless personalities, which makes them far easier to relate to; characters who are quick to judge, with a questionable past, torn in their motives, or characters that are doing the wrong thing for right reasons. Whether likable or unlikable, the characters are human.
The story is well-paced between the battle stages, never feeling like an overwhelming info dump or too little information at any given point. While not everything is tied up in a neat bow by the end of the story, they don't really leave any major plot points completely unraveled.

The electronic beats fit the game play and the story setting well. There doesn't seem to be a lot of variation in the music, but the music that is there is a good listen.

In addition to a movement-grid, turn-based play style, the game incorporates a "color/symbol matching" component. In a given turn, you can only run over one color/set of symbols, which charges the character's skill of that matching type. The player has to strategize movement patterns that will both charge your skills, as well as get you into an appropriate range of the targets.
You get two characters that are primarily ranged and two that are primarily melee. While some levels are single-character, others will let you select which character(s) you'll take on the mission. In late game, levels will be either the full team, single character, or if they split your team, it's divided in a way that gives you both melee and ranged.
In addition to battles, you collect nitrium shards to make crystals to enhance your weapons, earn money to buy weapons and new skills, and earn ability tokens to fill out each character's talent tree. After beating the whole game, you get 500,000 credits. Which I guess is helpful if you haven't already grinded all your tokens and nitrium shards before completing the game.

The one and only thing that bothered me is that I can't *quite* fill out the talent trees, as you earn just shy of enough tokens to complete them. It would be better if the game took one of two stances here: Either provide enough tokens to fill out the tree, or make the tree short enough of tokens that you genuinely have to strategize how to build out your tree.

Ticket to Earth is an engaging tile-connect puzzle game with turn based tactics combat, and a solid narrative story line. The main game play loop is connecting same coloured tiles to make the longest line, but this also increases the that you do to your enemies, and also give you different abilities or buffs. The story line features four Peace Keepers on an off-world colony fighting a bunch of insane mercenaries trying to destroy your life.
The game is now complete, as each chapter was released episodically. I defs reccomend picking it up

A neat merge of genres (match-3 grid tactical RPG) that delivers a fresh experience until it ultimately wears out its welcome.
It's a fun, addictive concept, but you end up just kiting enemies until you can rack up combos, which can sometimes take forever. Mix in the RNG-like elements, and it can get frustrating. There's a narrow bridge of experience where some battles can feel poetic, but too many times victories felt undeserved/whelming and some losses unfair/tedious. It's that Goldilocks slice, though, when the game really shines.
A lot of the mechanics and buffs felt underutilized, and the storytelling is very amateurish, but there's a fun game in here that I could see getting fleshed out more in the future.
The story is too uninteresting and full of holes and always in your face. The characters have little-to-no development despite the over-use of narrative. The bad guys are coded weird (like that bald guy in Legend of Korra who's ideology just happens to include murdering kids for no good reason out of nowhere because he has to be bad somehow). And to top it all off there's several points in which you get stuck until you have a lucky enough board/your "justice power" powered up. The only thing keeping me playing at a point was the interesting combat system, but it's not interesting enough for me to keep playing at this point.
I was hooked on Ticket to Earth from the first level. This isn't just a simple puzzle game; it's a brilliant mix of tactical, colour-matching combat and a genuinely engaging sci-fi story. The core gameplay is fast-paced and incredibly satisfying as you chain together long paths on the grid to power up your attacks.
The RPG elements are well-implemented, and the story kept me invested all the way through. It's clear the developers poured a lot of love into this project. I'm now a huge fan of Robot Circus and will be first in line for whatever they cook up next. Highly recommended!

- Feels like the story could have used just a little bit more of something at the end to flesh out certain aspects of the story a bit more (though it was quite a satisfying ending)
- A few slight grammatical errors
I picked up this game on sale on a bit of a whim really because the idea of a match 3 / tile matching game that was also a sort of tactics game and RPG.
The game is really fun and quite high quality (especially for the price even if it's not on sale). I've done basically all I can in the game except trying for the last few Steam achievements and I've put in just over 60 hour and I'd estimate without farming all the gems and skill / talent tokens people would still get a good 30 hours out of the game just playing through the main story.
It was a joy to play through and story that really did explore complex socio political issues and ideas without coming off as preachy or overtly partisan and instead actually fully exploring those ideas and concepts with realistic nuance.
Gameplay wise it really has a pick up and play feeling where you can jump in to replay old missions to complete bonus objectives for talent / skill tokens and just play for a short while but also works if you want play for longer spells of time to. It's almost a game that will work as a "snack"if you just want to play something for a little bit of time and fill time but also a larger "meal" of a game when you just want to really get stuck into something.
It also has quite a bit of depth to the combat with multiple options of abilities for characters that can cause you to play the characters quite differently just due to the different skills on offer.. E,G. one character you find can be played as either a medic, or a sort of tank or somewhat a hybrid of the two without the game ever forcing you to play said character a certain way only.

Yeah, I'm done. I liked the idea of the game, but they gameplay didn't grip me. Too much randomness, especially in the way tiles appear, makes strategy take a backseat to luck. Also the presentation really isn't my thing. The characters' appearance and manner of speaking is very children's TV, though the story's probably a bit too dark for a kid, so I'm not sure who this is supposed to appeal to.
I really like the concept and mechanics in this game. The mix up of match-3 as the grid for a tactical RPG fight is smart, and the different ability types being fueled by the different tile types is fun.
However, mechanics only get you so far. The balance of this game is atrocious. I know match 3 as a concept can come down to RNG but in this game, you would really want to mitigate that somehow. As it stands, most of the fights past the first few I lost with nothing better I could have done, because the tiles just weren't in my favor (unless there's some hidden mechanic I don't know about). Ultimately, there are just a ton of enemies, you don't have any AoE (as the main character, there is another character that does somewhat), and you will always take damage every round, you only get 2 actions, and when you take damage you lose enough of your damage charge to usually mean you HAVE to use one or both actions moving and charging, or maybe one on an ability if you are lucky, and just keep running around until the stars align. It ultimately just feels... bad. The only viable tactic is to hit and run but your ability to do either is tied to RNG and not only does this make even winning fights take FOREVER, it's just not an interesting use of the system.
I've played tons of tactics games, from FFT to X-Com Ironman to Troubleshooter on Cruel mode, and dozens and dozens of puzzle games and many match-3 styles as well. This just ultimately is poorly balanced and one of the most RNG games I have ever played, and it's a shame because it's so interesting otherwise. I'm past my 2 hour window to refund so I might put in the time here and there to redo fights over and over until the dice work out but I might not.

So lets get the postives out of the way first :),this game has a really refreshing gameplay,what you need to do is collect 4 different tiles and by doing that you charge your powers.You play 4 characters and every character has unique powers,skill trees and weapons...standard stuff really.All these things are very well done and I really liked this game as you can see by the hrs I invested in this game.
The game is divided in 4 chapters and if I judged the game by 3 chapters I would say that this game is very good but for me chapter 4 is awful,it feels rushed and the missions are awful.There are only 2 or 3 missions in that chapter that are well done the others don't feel like the missions in first 3 chapters.If you ask me they should've ended the game with chapter 3.

A puzzle rpg-ish combat with a great story. Don’t overlook this gem.
I must admit, towards the end I was done with the combat, even though it was what roped me in from the start, the story was what kept me going. Mid second area the story just jump starts and you’re emotionally hooked.
The last thing I expected from a puzzle fighter was to overwhelm me with the story and character arcs!
How it work:
You move along a grid with 4 different tiles. The longer the you move the harder you hit. You also fill up your special depending on the tile. As you progress in the story you unlock new abilities, weapons and upgrades. Completing additional objects gives you points which you can spend to buff certain stats or special passive abilities for you character.

Fun strategic gameplay and fairly good story thus far
I finished this game yesterday, I really enjoyed it. I felt like some characters were almost overpowered at the end, but overall a very fun game that mixes two game styles I enjoy. I did all the challenges and got all shards. The setting is cool but the plot is a little all over the place, and as it went on I started to lose track of who was motivated to do what and why. But I like the sci-fi adventure genre so I didn't mind it, and every story cut away if skippable if you don't care about the plot.
I've seen people complain that the game is too random, and while it's true that randomness plays a role in nearly every match you play, I don't think it hampers gameplay very much. Early in the game when you are still learning the mechanics it can be frustrating. But later in the game I almost never felt like it was just bad luck that made me lose a match. Technically tiles are placed randomly on most, but not all, levels. But the reality is you will quickly gain powers to manage the board pretty effectively. Completing all the challenges may require waiting until your character is more powerful, has a better weapon or finding the right build or set of characters for that level.
Once you know what your character's most powerful powers are, you can use that to guide what talents you select. Add in some good gems and you can make your character pretty overpowered. Late game I stopped using Justice Powers (extra heavy damage) entirely. I was enjoying the strategy involved in clearing maps without them and eventually I just forgot about them. Part of the strategy is realizing that some powers and gems aren't worth your time. Some talents on the skill tree offer may offer that character little or no benefit, and should be avoided in favor of more useful paths.
My only complaint is that I reached a point about half way through the game where for some characters there was one build or a combination of powers that were so overpowered it was almost broken, especially late game. This made it so there was less reason to use or invest in other powers, alter your strategy or change your build from match to match. But this was not true for everyone and some scenarios will require you to go back and reconsider your build, or what characters you choose to bring. I should note that I am the kind of player who would go back and replay a level multiple times until I got all the available shards and beat all the challenges. Not everyone plays this way, and it's entirely possible my play style allowed me to keep my characters more prepared for new levels, as opposed to just plowing through every level.
A little gem I discovered a few years ago at PAXAustralia, Ticket to Earth is a game that begins with what appears to be a simple premise and soon develops into something quite special. With entertaining characters, hours of battles to play through and an interesting story to follow, the game is one that surprised me at many points. The story follows four unlikely heroes as they attempt to save their world from an uprising. Filled with sci-fi scenery, robots and mutated beings, you'll soon find that beneath the surface lies a plot that grips you until its very end.
Love seeing games like this come out of my own country!
Buy this game if you enjoy turn-based combat, matching games, leveling up a custom team, or good stories about class-based struggles while dishing out a ton of beautiful, violent, cartoon justice. A criminally overlooked gem that should be MUCH more popular than it is. Polished, wonderful design, tight sound and music, and enthralling combat combine to make Ticket to Earth a very worth-while game. Well done devs!
It's greater than the sum of its parts. Shouldn't be as fun with such a simple premise but I didn't have to summon motivation to complete the game.
Some of the powers are a bit uninspired and perhaps a little too much repetition, but if you like matching tile games and turn based combat it's easily overlooked.
Good that it's from Australia too, actually bought this off one of the devs at PAX for $10 so no arguments with the price to entertainment ratio.

Interesting concept when it comes to how the battling works, but I just didn't find the setting of the story and the plot to be gripping. I really wish there was a "meh" option in addition to the thumbs up and down. I don't think it's a bad game, it just didn't hold my interest very long.

Ticket to Earth по началу кажется довольно примитивной puzzle/RPG игрой, аля где в бою противники стоят друг напротив друга, а все их действия, удары, заклинания и т.д. зависят от количества и цвета элементов, собранных на поле для три-в-ряд. Хочу уже жать "refund" , но дохожу до 5 миссии, как Ticket to Earth ломает привычное впечатление.
Оказывается, что поля являются не просто одновременно и полем боя, по которому перемещается ваш персонаж и противники, а еще и катализатором дамага, т.е от количества собранных за один ход элементов и их цвета будет зависеть ваш урон и набираются скилы.
Карта генерируется каждый раз, делая каждый бой разным, даже если вы перегрузили карту. Но от этого еще зависит не попадет ли он в конце хода под выстрел лазера робота, или же, не станет ли персонаж в радиус взрыва мутанта-камикадзе или не окажется ли в самой толпе врагов, будут ли враги в зоне поражения вашего оружия. Казуальная puzzle/RPG становится тактической стратегией, где вам нужно выбирать маршрут к врагу, или же наоборот, не давать себя отзонить толпе врагов.
-Вторая стадия. Гнев.
Проходит второй час, возврат средств оформить никак не получится. И вы спрашиваете себя. "Это все что ты можешь мне предложить, игра?"
Действительно. 10ток уровней с бонусными миссиями и невзрачными диалогами которые похожи скорее на монологи и одни тараканы и роботы в качестве противников. Всё? Реально?
Оказывается, что Ticket to Earth содержит элементы RGP игр. Открывается возможность покупать новые приемы и специальные возможности, которое делает игру интереснее, а затем еще оружие, а еще качать свои характеристики, причем таланты здесь выглядят как необычное древо, по котором вы выбираете направление развития до двух конечных перков дающие различные игровые возможности.
- Третья стадия. Торг.
Может, игра не такая уж и плохая, а? Оказывается, кроме главной героини есть еще второй персонаж, причем без клишированных Геральтов аля спасителей мира. Сама Роз борется с иерусалимским синдромом на протяжении игры, и желает спасти всех рискуя своей жизнью, когда остальные персонажи группы с меркантильными соображениями, с интересом найти пушку покруче, получить награды за поимку бандитов, или бывший убийца с прошлым, которым бы он лучше предпочел забыть. У всех героев есть тайны, которые лишь слегка приоткрываются по процессу игры, под покровом напряжения в сюжете и напряженных ситуаций.
- Четвертая стадия. Депрессия.
Оказывается у игры есть сюжет. Есть диалоги между персонажами. Которые подаются чат-ставками, диаложками между жителями колонии или же главными злодеями.
Кроме роботов и тараканов есть отряды рабочих , криминальные группы, религиозные секты и т.д. Следить за историей интересно. Противники градируют, получают ауры, новое оружие, добавляются погодные эффекты в игру типа " жара и холод" появляются рейнж враги, которые кайтят ваших персонажей и мешают бегать, пытаясь портить ваши клетки, появляются зомби которые портят клетки, после чего они становятся "вызженной землей" - хилят их союзников, а нам несут урон.
- Стадия пятая. Принятие.
Ticket to Earth оказалась не такой уж плохой игрой , изнт ит? Все самое интересное слишком поздновато появляется в игре. Погодные эффекты, сложные враги и тд. К середине игры появится что-то подобие не навязанного гринда. Фармить или нет кристалики в пушки - дело ваше.
Можно перепройти старые миссии чтобы получить больше жетонов прокачки.
Саму игру можно пройти за часов 6 на средней сложности. Но выполнение дополнительных заданий и целей может добавить прохождению время.
Кроме того, игра не завершена, и планируется 4тый эпизод, а возможно, и новый персонаж- союзник к нему.
Будем ждать. Жаль, что таких игр в Steam очень мало, и они все спрятаны за играми-гигантами, явно, из моих друзей никто не слышал про неё. Желаю это исправить, и написать аж " Второй обзор на русском языке".
Явно будет лучше, чем тот шлак, что клепают для любителей графона и бездушных ААА проектов.
Жаль, только игра полностью на английском, но это не помешает понять основной сюжет даже тем, кто шарит в нем плохо из-за сюжетных вставок. Все понимается просто на визуал. Русификатора нет, и не понятно ли завезут вообще. Все разбирается методом тыка и не заставит вас думать " какой стат прокачки нужен чтобы одеть оружие" - он там один, потому нужно внимательно читать, по какой ветке тратить токены, кроме того, в игре есть абузы, и можно все сбрасывать/переигрывать.
[spoiler] на Justice Mission 1: за Роз разбиваем раритет с эмблемой-мечом и фармим токен с него - перезагружаем миссию как взяли. И так 10 раз и меньше (зависит от прокачки) ульты. В первой сюжет миссии за Вульфа прокачиваем стат Agility чтобы ход был ранее врагов, пробегаем по клеткам глаза - появляется justice token, поднимаем. За Дока альтернативно делаем так же на первой миссии. [/spoiler] - так можно проходить все сложные моменты и миссии.
It’s not common, but it is possible for mobile games to spawn some pretty clever gameplay conventions that you might not otherwise see on PC. I’m not talking about AR or motion controls, but rather designs that work particularly well for short sessions on touchscreens, designs that many PC developers need not consider. Ticket to Earth takes two gameplay styles I’m a huge fan of, turn-based tactics and puzzles, and merges them into a battle system the likes of which I’ve never seen before. There’s a lot of story and character progression built around it too, and while none of it goes particularly deep or varied it does offer some challenging battles in bite-sized portions.
The colony world of New Providence has outlived its usefulness, and public order is breaking down as poor settlers scramble to get off-world. Tickets to Earth (see what they did there?) are unattainable by all but the richest inhabitants, sparking protests and unrest. In the distant settlement of Land’s End this unrest is about to take on a whole new dimension, as hardened criminals stage a massive breakout from the penitentiary and set their sights on upending the planetary government. In the midst of this chaos, several heroes will be called into action from their diverse walks of life, including a gardener named Rose, a hardened bounty hunter known as Wolf, a doctor, a test subject, and more.
I will warn you up front that Ticket to Earth is episodic, and currently contains three of its four planned episodes. There’s no reason to believe the fourth won’t make it in, but if you’re anything like me having an incomplete game can be a bit of a buzzkill. What is already present will last you awhile, though, with three to four hours of main quests and side missions to work through per episode. Battles themselves don’t take too long, averaging maybe five minutes each, but there are loads of them and loads of dialog and upgrades to explore between each. I will also say that the story is quite good, told in still comic panels with bold, colorful art and charming character designs. It’s not going to break any expectations, but there’s enough going on to keep you invested in the lives of Rose and her allies.
It all revolves around the battle system though, and as interesting as it is, it comes with a few drawbacks. Combat takes place on a small-ish grid of colored tiles, four basic types and a few special ones later in the game. Your characters get two actions per turn, and moving along a single color of tile uses one of those actions. You can move as far as you want on that one action, as long as you stick to the color you first stepped on. Attacking or using most powers consumes another point, so you’re generally going to be moving and attacking once each or moving across two colors of tile if needed. Each tile you step on boosts your attack, with a more pronounced effect after crossing five in a single move. This is key because it can push your base attack from 2 or 3 up to 20 or 30 for a single attack. Landing an attack resets your attack power, so running circuits around the grid between attacks is the name of the game, especially because that also charges your four color-matched powers.
I like this system, and it’s good for staging fast-paced tactical fights that don’t require particularly rigorous thinking. It has its drawbacks, though, and chief among them is that it’s heavily randomized. The tile layout for every battle is randomized, from the initial arrangement to what replaces crossed tiles. Most of the time you’ll be able to get into position or charge up your attacks no problem, but there will be instances where you can’t move more than two or three spaces because of a bad mix. It’s worse when you have characters like Wolf, who gets important bonuses from one type of tile, or battles with lots of enemies because they use the same rules to move and will eat favorable tile layouts on their turns. There’s also not much variety with the way this system is used, because almost every battle takes place on the same single-screen grid, and challenges you to defeat X enemies. After a few hours of those fights it can get a little old, especially if you repeat some due to bad tile luck or just to clear bonus objectives.
You’ll have plenty to do outside of battles, though, thanks to a wealth of progression systems. Your characters have four special powers, each tied to a specific grid color. There’s a whole library of unique powers for individual characters that can be unlocked with cash earned from battles, allowing you to customize the capabilities of each. Cash can also unlock new weapons with different base and max damage stats. Missions and their bonus objectives also award tokens which are used on a passive skill tree to unlock stat boosts and handy new effects like damage boosts off specific tiles or remote collection of item drops. There are new dialog scenes between characters after every mission as well, so you can get as close to the cast as you want through some solid writing and plot twists.
Ticket to Earth takes a great concept and makes a decent game out of it, one hampered only by the flaws of its ambition. As much as I enjoy the battle system it could have stood to be refined a bit further, mitigating the effects of bad RNG and adding a little more variety to the many fights you’ll face. But everything else surrounding this system is great, and it’s still a unique form of combat that you can get a lot of mileage out of. Bold, colorful graphics in both 2D and 3D and a surprisingly memorable soundtrack round out this unexpected gem. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for something lighter or just different in the turn-based tactics field, and don’t let the mutants, robots, or random chance get you down.

A SciFi comic book and a Turn Based Strategy video game had a baby and they called it Ticket to Earth.
This game delivers it's story, which is better than most, in quick hit comic book style speech bubbles that you can easily follow or skip altogether. Ten to twenty minute battles - the crux of the game - have a unique puzzle-like mechanic that keeps keeps you coming back for more.
Ticket to earth is a charming sci-fi romp with relatively light turn-based gameplay and a respectable length. The package as a whole is very engaging; being well balanced and paced with constant progression and bits of story between every main mission. The gameplay is not massively difficult so one doesn't need years of experience in the genre to have a good time with Ticket to Earth; but it does keep ramping up well and very few mission are actual push-overs. The story as well starts slow but did grow on me at least, partially thanks to the sheer length(took me 20ish hours to basically 90% 3/4 episodes with one not yet released). At this point I can't wait to see the story to it's conclusion.
Ticket to Earth is clearly a relatively small game, but it is one where the devs have put their time in all the right places and everything is pretty polished and as said lengthy. It doesn't actually feel constrained or limited due to outside factors, and as such was quite a blast to play through.

I'm sorry, I really tried, but I cannot enjoy it. The game is too frustratingly random, the bonus objectives are random squared, the two actions are too punishing given how the enemies just ignore that mechanic and will happily make the ability to attack before moving useless, and the final straw was a not easily refillable resource not being replenished if you use it then restart the mission. I'm sorry but I'm done.
A fine little puzzeler. The story element is not overblown, just enough to get you to the next fight. Nice pace of progression, able to take your improved characters back to do a previous levels to up your score (and thereby improve your character again). This lets you amp your character until you are able to defeat a boss that is blocking story progression, but if you are really good at this kind of game then you should be able to beat a boss without this double backing strategy. Basically it lets you decide how powerful your team needs to be to beat the next level verses how good you are at the game. Its a great balancer and not frustrating. Defo worth a look.
Bought this at PAX AUS 2018 straight from the devs who were super nice and have been playing it almost everyday since.
If you like RPG, turned-based strategy, battlefield and puzzle games, this game is totally addictive and activates the brain's need to solve and achieve in really cool ways. It's extremely gratifying and not overly complex to learn. Anyone of any age can play it through, but the more you invest into getting good, the higher the reward.
At first, the gameplay seems really simple because of the slick UI and smooth controls. But then you get hooked on perfecting every level and boosting the skills and abilities of each character. There is arguably more skill and thought put into the strategy and tactical approach of this game then big titles like X-COM or MMORPGS.
I cared way more about building and allocating my skills than I usually do because of how it applies to puzzle solutions that unlock achievements, weapons and higher skill levels in a unique way. Whoever created the system in this game seriously knows what they are doing and has found their calling with game mechanics.
I'm a girl who was raised on comic books, so the comic style art and dialogue and the cyberpunk sci-fi elements are personal favourites. Not to mention the protagonist is a female woman of color who is trained in martial arts, swears like a sailor, who is in a relationship with another woman who is a mechanic. How ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool. I love it.
Guys, I hope you finish this game, because it has huge potential to be replayable and reach a broader audience on PC. The UI is honestly one of the best I have ever seen in anything. And if you monetized the credit system, I would buy them.
People on here saying this game is already obsolete because of the early release date of the first episodes need to pipe down. Once it's all complete, just re-package the whole game. I just finished Ep. 1 and it was already more than worth the money I paid. I'm so excited to play through the rest.

Bought this game after trying it out at PAX Aus. Really love it thus far! It's a satisfying puzzle/stategy game with great visuals to boot. Mechanics wise, I think is really well done - it’s easy to understand, but is challenging enough to keep me wanting more. I love the art style and music, and the details given through each chapter in terms of storyline is pretty fulfilling.
I think that the mastery tree is well done, as well as the slow access to skill upgrades as you progress through the game. I also enjoy the option of fast forwarding through enemy animations!

Ticket to Earth is a really enjoyable and addictive Puzzle-Strategy Game with RPG Elements, that I would highly recommend.
The gameplay is easy to learn but has also depth to it, which shows intself once you have progessed through the story and unlock more characters and abilitys.
The story, world and characters, while not terribly unique and following some well traveld tropes fit into their own world quit nicely, and you want to follow the plot along, You can see many inluences from other Sci-Fi Media, yet it never feels to much like a ripoff.
My biggest complaint is that sometimes there can be mood dissonance with the situations and the character, which will show itself in the dialog, and sometimes the missions can blend together a bit.
Overall this is a really good games and I can't wait for the next Episode.
Sono attratto per natura dai vari cloni di Puzzle Quest: tra il gameplay di Bejeweled abbellito da abilità e crescita del personaggio e una storia da seguire, la fortunata serie di Infinite Interactive era riuscita a deviare talmente tanti giocatori. Basti pensare che ancora risulta molto difficile riuscire a trovare una valida alternativa al tanto apprezzato Challenge of the Warlords, perfino tra i capitoli successivi della serie. Ecco perché sono sempre attento, sperando che l'ennesima uscita di giochi a tessere sia quella decisiva, quella in grado di ribaltare tutto e farmi buttare ore e ore di gioco davanti al PC con un gioco che è chiaramente pensato per dispositivi portatili.
Ammetto perfino di aver provato diverse versioni per smartphone, soffrendo però sempre sul lungo periodo a causa della necessità di spendere dei soldi reali per contrastare le devastanti meccaniche di gioco pay to win (o to evolve nel caso di Marvel Puzzle Quest). Ma dopo giochi di varia natura, cloni poco riusciti e semplici versione aggiornate del capostipite del genere, ho dovuto attendere Ticket To Earth per ottenere qualcosa di potenzialmente convincente: cosa lo blocca dal diventare il nuovo messia? Gli stessi problemi di Puzzle Quest.
Prima di tutto c'è da dire che il titolo sviluppato da Robot Circus è un mix davvero molto interessante che tenta di offrire concretamente un gameplay differente (così come fece Gyromancer all'epoca): la scacchiera delle tessere da usare sarà in verità il pavimento sul quale far muovere la nostra eroina. A ogni tesserà corrisponderà un elemento particolare, il quale caricherà una risorsa in grado di farci lanciare delle abilità a essa collegate. Non solo potremo equipaggiare una sola abilità per risorsa, ma queste avranno anche una doppia valenza da considerare: più tessere dello stesso tipo concateneremo consecutivamente, più crescerà il nostro contatore d'attacco. Questo significa che, se riusciremo sempre a muoverci e colpire (senza subire colpi), potremo sferrare attacchi devastanti contro i nostri nemici. Viceversa, nel caso in cui si subisse un colpo da parte dei nemici, il contatore diminuirà vertiginosamente, indebolendoci e rendendoci poco pericolosi.
Il segreto di Ticket To Earth quindi starà tutto nel capire come muoversi, e quali tessere sfruttare, per colpire i nemici cercando di massimizzare le azioni. Spesso e volentieri verrete resi inoffensivi da qualche colpo indesiderato, obbligandovi a dover ricominciare la pianificazione e l'attacco dei vari nemici. Questi, poi, saranno di varia natura e saranno influenzati in maniera differente dalle varie abilità a nostra disposizione. Quelli robotici soffriranno danni elettrici, quelli umani subiranno maggiormente dagli attacchi infuocati e così via. Sembra tutto molto ovvio, ma quando dovrete considerare su quali tessere muovervi, quelle che vi servono per caricare l'attacco speciale desiderato, evitare i tanti nemici che brulicheranno sulla scacchiera di gioco e colpirli... beh diciamo che sono un bel po' di incognite da calcolare, rendendo il ritmo di gioco molto più lento e strategico rispetto ai vecchi Puzzle Quest.
Dove stanno allora i problemi? Prima di tutto il sistema di gioco e l'interfaccia sono stati indubbiamente pensati e sviluppati per dispositivi mobile. Pur sfruttando una piacevolissima grafica colorata e inondando il giocatore di tavole e fumetti da leggere per approfondire la storia (cruentissima e davvero intrigante), la natura del gioco purtroppo alla fine fa un po' a botte con il nostro caro schermo da 20 e passa pollici. Per di più, la natura action del gioco viene controbilanciata da una difficoltà per nulla da sottovalutare: i nemici si muoveranno sempre in maniera inaspettata, a volte dando molto più fastidio di quanto realmente vorremmo, soprattutto all'inizio, e con un pattern di azione diverso dal nostro. Se a noi spetteranno solo due azioni forzate come due movimenti (per ogni movimento ci si può muovere su tutte le celle di UN solo elemento) o un movimento e un attacco, i mostriciattoli potranno muoversi su tutte le tessere e colpire.
Diciamo quindi che, nel suo perdere l'immediatezza e la rapidità di Puzzle Quest, la sua natura unica e sicuramente interessante è anche il lato meno convincente del gioco: l'alto rischio di trasformare l'esperienza in uno stress continuo per colpa del caso è concreto e, in effetti, più volte mi sono visto costretto a ripetere un quadro per via della disposizione delle tessere che da subito mi poneva in una posizione scomoda. Non voglio sembrare troppo negativo, però, perché Ticket To Earth mi ha proprio soddisfatto, soprattutto grazie alla trama sci-fi e alle tante sfide da affrontare durante questo primo episodio. Dal canto mio, non solo spero che questa veda continuare lo sviluppo degli altri 3 episodi, ma che gli sviluppatori decidano di pubblicare il gioco anche su Android essendo presente solo su iOS e Steam, rispettivamente a 1,99 e 14,99. Senza pensare male, oltre a tutta una serie di migliorie tecniche, la versione PC darà accesso a tutti gli episodi senza ulteriori acquisti una volta che saranno pubblicati.
Ho combattuto contro robottoni assassini e gentaglia spaziale grazie a un codice PC gentilmente offerto dagli sviluppatori.

What an amazing experience! Far beyond a mobile game, this is something I've genuinely sunk a lot of time on my computer into.
Overall very fun game, I had blast playing it. The gameplay is nowhere as random as i feared from a game that at first glance looks like mobile port. Soundtrack is atmospheric, story is involved, the only downside is that atm there are only 2 out of 4 chapters available.
Overall, Ticket to Earth is a fresh, fun debut from Robot Circus, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a different kind of RPG hybrid. Strategy lite, turn-based tactical assault blends really well with upgrade mechanics, and the structural design of the battle grids is flecking admirable. Ironing out the challenge level in latter sections of the story would prevent gameplay from becoming too unbalanced, but there’s little else I can fault.

Ticket to Earth is one of if not the best Indie Games to come out this year.
It takes the RPG Puzzler to the next level. Seemingly simple but soon enough it will have to questioning your choices and re-evaluating the strategies you used to get past the first clutch of levels. You think you'll have it sorted out but TTE (ticket to earth) does extremely good job in subtly shaking things up.
This game will appeal to the casual Puzzler fan as well as a veteran RPG fiend. Unlike other Puzzle RPGs where skill trees feel linear and included "just because that makes it an RPG" TTE manages to provide a skill tree that won't overwhelm the RPG newbie but gives more than enough freedom for the seasoned RPG player to build the characters the way they want. I should also note there this a wide range of abilities for each character and a nice selection of weapons that have sockets. So yes it's every bit an RPG as well as a puzzler.
Everything about this game has been meretriciously crafted. The characters are fun and engaging, the story is brilliant with dialog cut-scenes that you don't just want to breeze through by clicking skip. The artwork style pops and is instantly memorable, the sound design fits perfectly, the soundtrack is awesome and compliments the various stages of the game well. The UI is crisp and intuitive and at no point have I become frustrated with the UI in any way which is massive as I am a UI/UX nerd, heck even the way in which the tutorials are laid out and paced quickly gets you familiar with the game without initially overloading you with mechanics.
TL;DR - Ticket to Earth is brilliant and you should buy it, NOW!
Thoroughly enjoyed this. It can be played in short bursts (which I appreciate) or long sessions. Loved the immersive music. The challenges had me replaying levels to try approaching them differently. A very polished and well rounded game for a small studio!
Didn't get a chance to play it for long because of an influx of games, but I did enjoy what I saw and put it on my list to play more later on.
The combat mechanics are very unique and enjoyable. It's a tactics game like none I've ever seen, it combines some puzzle elements, where the board is a very big part of your tactics, and the board keeps changing. Balance staying away from enemies with maximizing damage.
There's also a story that I didn't get too far yet, but it was anime-style cute that I did enjoy.

I have finished the latest content. I have gone back and farmed the other episodes for money, upgrade shards, and fun. Overall, I feel exactly the same. The game is fun but is clearly not fleshed out enough gameplay wise or systems wise.
For the gameplay, there is still very little strategy. You are not planning ahead more than the next turn. And, limiting each character to two moves per turn feels like a mistake. You need to spend one move collecting tiles, and then attack for the second move. There is no variance from this strategy. The same goes for the play field which, after three episodes, feels small. The shape and size of the playfield never changes. So, there's no real variety per level other than the objectives and which enemy will infinitely spawn next.
For the systems.....
You have the ability to craft gems to mod weapons. I have completed three episodes. I have gone back and farmed for material to craft gems. I have only been able to craft 4 gems. One of the characters has a gun that will take 5 gems. Also. I have completed all three episodes so there's not even a point to modding the weapons. All gameplay systems feel short sighted in the same way. There's a store where you can buy weapons but you will always have enough money to buy the best weapons, skipping over the mid-tier weapons. What's the point? These weapons also have slots for gems like you will ever have enough gems. The skills are the same way. All upgrades become available too fast due to there not being enough game to progress at the pace of weapon or skill upgrades. So, what then? These RPG upgrade systems just become buttons to click between missons and nothing more. You don't ever struggle in this game let alone struggle and then think that upgrading any skills or weapons will help you progress. It's nearly arbitrary.
Story......
I still cannot really comment on the story since I skip a lot of dialogue based on my perceptions from Episode 1. But, since I read about 50% of this episode, here's what I can say: There's slideshow dialogue between levels. The subject matter is above average. The banter between the characters and the way the story unfolds is average to below average. If you want to talk about character progression and evolving relationships between characters, then I do not think that exists here in a meaningful way.

This is not a bad game but I would say its mechanics are not deep and leave the player wanting more. Especially if you are expected to be replaying maps constantly in the pursuit of money, nitrium, and upgrade tokens. You generally feel trapped in a very rigid attack plan. You get two turn tokens per round and will generally always move once and attack once. You need to move because thats how you generate the amount of damage you can inflict and also how you charge your moves. Maybe im missing a huge game mechanic but that is the main strategy for the entirety of the game and you will do little else. I found when i had trouble with a battle it was just because of luck of the tiles or an underpowered character (bad weapon or move set) rather than me needing to alter my strategies.
Also dont bother mining Nitrium (which is used to create buffs for your weapons) as the amount you need vs the amount you pick up from battles is unrealistic for any of the buffs worth having.
As for the story, i pretty much fell out of interest in episode 2 though i did follow closely in episode 1. You can skip the story entirely and be perfectly fine gameplay wize.
Otherwise this is a decent little puzzle rpg. Despite its flaws its still fun to pick up and play here and there.
This is a great little indie gem, the "match-3" gameplay is pretty solid and the RPG elements add a good level of depth and progression. They have a good system that encourages you to replay the levels and there is an overarching narrative that pushes the story forward. The story is probably the weakest element of the game but it's still thoroughly enjoyable.
In terms of length, Almost 2 hours in and I just barely completed the first of 3 episodes at the time of this review, for 10 bucks it's a steal.
To the devs, keep up the good work.

This game mashes my buttons. It is a puzzle game based around a nicely constructed puzzle - one that you can always improve on you skill with, but it very simple to get the basics of - and it has a nice story to go with it so that as you get better at the puzzle you get a reward for it. Much like.
Would highly recommend this game if you're into strategy and story. I thoroughly enjoyed it - great mechanics, art and music. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes!
If you thought it would be fun to play bejeweled meets X-Com- but really lite and colorful then here is your game. I had a good time with this game and if there is never another episode I still think it is worth it.
In short, I liked this puzzle/tactical turn based lite rpg thing. While the story seems right now a bit hoe-hum the combat is really quite fun and with any tactical combat turn based thing that's all the fun. So yeah buy if you like both puzzlers and turn based combat.

Final Review: I gave Ticket to Earth one last look and was pleased I did. Set in a far-future Off-world colony, the game sees the protagonist Rose fight mutant alien lifeforms, a robot uprising and other threats together with three other team members. Characters can perform two actions per turn, which are usually a mix of movement orders and ranged or melee attacks. The turn-based tactical combat is complemented with tile-matching puzzle elements, as Rose and her allies have to traverse floor tiles of matching colors to move and charge their combat powers. Some good pros and solid cons
PRO
A: It is not just move and effect. There is a method to it's madness that can be appealing
B: It sets the main action in Ticket to Earth takes place on an isometric grid of colored squares that resembles a 1970’s disco. Annoying to some, but the kids loved it.
C: In addition, the more tiles you travel over the more damage your next attack will inflict. However, whenever you are hit you not only lose health, but also some of your attack power. Being aware of each power invests your attention.
D: Floor tiles come in four different colors, which relate to four combat powers. An interesting take on tactical puzzling.
E: The numerous plot threads are genuinely interesting and recounted through some superb sci-fi comic strip style artwork
G: Good solid music. colors, graphics, and execution of the development, nicely done.
F: It has a nice story mode progression and maybe slightly different than your used to with RPG strategy games.
CONS
A: Like most Isometric games you seemed boxed in to the redundant battle system that can get dull to serious strategy lovers, but the kids really enjoy it.
B: Once you unlock all the abilities to a character. You are sort of stuck in its mechanics. Not enough combinations, or unlocked abilities, mutations, or multiple player options that expand your tactical experience. A missed opportunity. Slight con for me.
C: The character's can tend to drab on which you could lose important steps. For example, I did not know about the side missions till I was halfway through the game.
D; The game does not go beyond its template so it can be redundant in the same battle theme instead unlocking tactical choices. You switch characters instead of feeling a full team effect. Its one dimensional in its approach strategically.
FINAL GRADE: I love the numerous plot threads throughout the superb sci-fi comic strip style artwork and there has obviously been a lot of time, effort and love put into Ticket to Earth. However it may not be appealing to everyone. It has to be subjective. Ticket to Earth didn't evolve into a more complex tactical game with massive armies instead of one leader point perspective, but as a complete game, gives you a lot of plots and game play to keep you busy. See the Video in the discussion section to preview the game play prior to purchase. A wonderful accomplishment for this developer that can build the game play into something even more in its sequels. Ticket to Earth is a game that will be remembered and appreciated. MY SCORE 3.4 out of 5
This is an early access game. Episode 1 is all that exists, there is no timeline for release of other episodes (other than "very soon") or guarantee that you'll ever receive them.
I do like the game and wish it were complete so I could recommend it.
