Меня игра затянула с момента покупки на 20 часов и я уверен, это не предел.
Игра визуально приятна, в управлении понятна, своих средств стоит.

A solid indie game that pulls you in at first, ...
but the deeper you go, the more its mechanical limitations start to show.
It is a one-time journey, and for its price, that is just enough.

I understand this is an indie game, and I want to be fair while still comparing it to what else is out there.

Was it worth it? Every game's longevity depends on replayability.
After 100% completion, I would not return to Thronefall at all. There is nothing I'll be missing.
Many have already covered what works and what is fun, so I will focus on what does not work and what can be genuinely frustrating. Keep in mind the game can be discounted but still I want to fair across all genres and other developers.

I understand that criticism is not always well received, but we have to embrace failure, learn from it, and use it to improve and grow.

⚔ DIFFICULTY
──────────────────────────────
I enjoy difficult games and love adding challenges. However, the Mutators make the game harder in a technical sense rather than a mechanical one. The core concept stays the same throughout, and difficulty should be paired with creativity. The number of final bosses is overwhelmingly small.

Enemy patterns are always fixed, you can predict what is coming and plan accordingly, but that also removes any surprise or tension. Take Dark Souls as an example: imagine always knowing what is waiting behind a fog gate.
Every game should play different and I don't see why the developers removed the idea of a randomizer which could have added a better nuance to the game. The only thing that makes the game harder is by using Mutators, later I'll go deeper why.

🏗 BUILDING

You can choose what to build and when, but all building slots are fixed. There is no room for creativity in placing structures at a specific position or range, which severely limits strategic possibilities.

Once you have completed two maps, everything becomes repetitive. Your only real choice is timing, and that alone is not enough. Certain building spots go unused entirely because enemies either always come from one direction or never do.

🧠 ENEMY AI
──────────────────────────────
Enemy groups follow fixed priorities, targeting your hero, units, farms, or towers in a set order.
There is no reason this pattern could not change. Adding a randomizer to surprise the player and make waves more dynamic would have created far more memorable and challenging scenarios.
Once you know what enemies are going for, it is easy to adapt and play on autopilot.

✨ PERKS & MUTATORS
──────────────────────────────
Perks are the heart of this game (sadly), they shape each run with boosts and nerfs.
However, the variety feels limited. I would have liked a system where using fewer perks grants higher bonuses, and taking more than five gradually reduces them. Some Mutator combinations also become completely broken when chasing high scores (e.g. 30K+ points), making the game feel unplayable. That is because people do not understand how to make a game hard/challenging so they add specific "Mutators" to make it harder instead of improving the core concept of the game.

You have many options on paper, but in practice only a small percentage of combinations actually work for 100% completion. You are often forced to prioritize two or three factors simply because of what enemies appear, leaving you with no meaningful choice. Perks should complement the game, not define and constrain it.

📖 STORY

Not every game needs a story, and that is fine. But some dynamic storytelling through dialogue text boxes would have built tension and made certain moments more unforgettable. I enjoyed the sea monster and the bosses, but more cutscenes and plot twists in between would have elevated the experience significantly.
Imagine a second phase or a 10% chance the Boss will come back as an undead version with the remaining Buildings/Units and Health you have.

🗺 MAP LAYOUT

The game is very linear, you must complete specific maps to advance. Giving the player more freedom to roam and discover would have been a great addition. Choosing a harder map at low level for bonus EXP, unlocking weapons by finding chests in the world, or having side objectives while defending at night, these ideas would have added real depth and agency.

VERDICT

Many of my criticisms may simply be beyond the scope of a small development team, and I respect that.
But reducing the game in scope, making individual moments more remarkable, adding a boss to every map, and giving players more creative freedom would have been a much stronger direction.

Cut the maps in half and make it more creative and engaging would have been a better fit.

I enjoyed my time with Thronefall, but with its pricing and the technical possibilities that clearly exist, I expected more.

👎 Not Recommended, unless you are looking for a casual one-time experience.
Would I play the game again? Simply not. That's why I rated the game as it is.

This game is great! It's maybe top 3 best tower defenses I've ever played, although strangely the final map is nigh unbeatable if you ONLY do towers. You also get the option to build out units than you can place and command.

Each map has a different unique challenge and the final map was very difficult in a fun way. You really need to master all aspects of defense to pass it.

I highly recommend this game!

Boring and mildly infuriating. The idea of having fixed building slots initially seemed like an interesting strategic constraint. However, you quickly realize how annoying these placements are. タワーディフェンスよりかは、建てられる建物の位置が決まっている防衛のみのリアルタイムストラテジーと言った感じのゲーム。
ゲームの要素がシンプルで高品質にまとまっており評価が高いのも納得できます。

クリアだけならばそれほど難しくないと思います。
一方で、ハイスコアを狙い始めると難しくなります。
難易度設定は、どんな人でも遊べる丁度良い感じと思います。
1戦あたりの時間が短く試行錯誤が簡単で遊びやすいです。
敵が固定なのでクリア出来なくても徐々に戦略を洗練させていくことができます。

敵は、ウェーブごとに決まった数が出現する。
それに対応するために、経済施設を作って収入を増やし、防衛施設を作り防備を強化していく。
防衛施設には、

- 定点攻撃するタワー
- 味方ユニットを出現させる兵舎
- 敵の侵入を阻止する壁

等がある。

プレイヤーユニットと味方ユニットは、自由に移動させられる。
上手く使うと突破された方面の救援など臨機応変に対処できるようになる。

ウェーブを切り抜けると敵に応じた金 + 経済施設に応じた金が貰える。
経済施設は、壊されるとそのウェーブの収入が無くなる。
建物が壊されないように撃退できれば高スコア。
経済施設が多いと収入が多くなり有利になるが、壊されてしまうと意味が無いので防衛施設とのバランスが重要になります。

建物は、レベルアップで強化出来る。
レベルアップ時にオプションを選択でき強化の方向性を決められる。
例えば、防衛タワーを強化すると、射程が長く攻撃力が高いが攻撃間隔が長いものか、攻撃感覚が短いものを選べる。
城の中心をアップグレードすると、建物のレベル上限が上がる。

プレイヤーユニットを操作するアクション要素もある。
プレイヤーユニットは、ボタン操作のアクティブ攻撃と自動のパッシブ攻撃を持っている。
攻撃を受けすぎると倒されてしまうので、敵の攻撃を避けたり射程範囲に注意したりする必要がある。
敵を引き付ける事も出来るので、上手く操作すると建物への被害を減らせたりする。
プレイヤーユニットのHPは、徐々に回復する。
倒されてしまっても、一定時間後に復活する。

建物を建てる順番によって収入などが変わるので、同じステージでもプレイヤーや戦い方によって結果が変わり面白いです。
スコアも出るので、繰り返し遊んでハイスコアを更新すると言った遊び方も出来ます。

マップ開始時に、

- 武器: 1つ。プレイヤーユニットの攻撃を決定する
- ボーナス: 5つまで。ユニットや構造物の強化
- ミューテーター: 任意の数。敵を強化する代わりに収入などを増加させる

を決めます。
そのため、同じマップでも違う戦略で戦えます。
マップ毎にクエストが設定されており、特定の設定で勝利すると達成できる。
クエストは、複数あり、1度に達成しても良いし個別に達成しても良い。
クエストを達成する為だったり、ハイスコアの為だったりと繰り返し遊ぶ意欲につながり楽しいです。

Хз игре чего то не хватает, выглядит прикольно но играя больше пару часов понимаешь что она ПРОСТО НЕВЕРОЯТНО СКУЧНАЯ, вроде по мере прохождения сюжета добавляют какие то оружия, но половина из них неиграбельны, ну играть с ними можно , но удовольствия 0, по факту часов 10-15 и про игру можно забыть навсегда если не надоест раньше, хотя мне стало скучно уже на 4 уровне компании когда разраб заставляет тебя играть с каким то калом, есть какие то доп уровни и бесконечный режим, но после пары раз в бесконечном режиме нечего делать, хз реиграбельность вроде есть но это просто скучно, за свой прайс наверное норм 1 раз пройти и забыть, повторно я бы эту игру не купил

复利概念真的恐怖，早期经济建设就是命根子，守得住就猛投钱。港口得早出，第四晚以后就别碰了回本太慢。磨坊是印钞机，后方磨坊点稻草人加钱，防空紧缺选鱼叉，万金油选农夫，那个自爆升级实在意义不明。磨坊造完农田必须铺满。矿山收益反向给，头晚最肥，配上贷款抢铺起飞，还能故意被打爆重置收益，主打一个骗保式理财。没地儿花就造房子，永远不亏。最后两晚别理财了准备买命。

军事单位前期远比塔灵活，毕竟人是活的能满场跑。连枷兵清杂鱼无敌，长枪兵专治冲锋怪断腿。国王在高难度下其实是金牌导游，别光想着杀敌，得学会骑马去勾引风筝主力，吸引火力给后排争取输出时间。只要大本营不倒游戏就没输。在贪婪和谨慎之间反复横跳，听着跳钱的声音，哪怕家没了也能立马再开一把。

Amazing little game. Unlimited replay value. Never expected to put 30+ hours into this (bought at a sale), but I did. Very entertaining, very nice minimalistic graphics, Roguelike mode, interesting challenges, entertaining main campaign. I guess this will be a game I will come back to over and over again in the future for a little run.

Warning: It's not a classic tower defense. You play a hero and have troops. Game mechanics feel a bit like a single player Warcraft 3 mod where you fight increasing waves of enemies.

I'd buy again for even more more money. Great value.

只能说这游戏本可以更好玩但现在被固定的建造位置及非常不便的兵种控制变成了一款不太有趣的游戏。
固定建设位置可以说是给出了最优方案的有效精简，但为什么开局基地还得手动建造？反正开局不造基地就什么也干不了也没法换基地的位置，既然为了精简何不将这毫无意义的一步精简掉？
这游戏并又能靠单纯堆塔通关，但操蛋的兵种控制使游戏体验大打折扣，把操控精简到这种程度完全是本末倒置。

Schöner Grafikstil trifft angenehme Herausforderungen mit 1A Mechanik. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad ist sehr gut getroffen: Nicht einfach, aber machbar - oft sehr knapp.

A true indie gem! Easy to play, yet very deep.

Everything is designed so smartly. It has a very flexible difficulty system where you're constantly encouraged to use different builds/tactics. This also balances everything, as there is not a single build to beat all maps/challenges.

What I also love is how well the game provides you the information you need. Every unit/buff/upgrade is well explained and you can look up all upcoming waves of a level, allowing you to plan ahead properly.

The graphics are simple, but still beautiful. It runs smooth as butter on the Steam Deck and the controller support is flawless.

I only have to minor gripes:

[*]I [i]love[/i] both of the music tracks, but they do get repetitive after a while.
[*]Positioning units is a bit fiddly. I don't know if it's easier with keyboard + mouse, but on controller it takes a while to position individual groups/units. But it isn't much of a problem, since the units are relatively smart and the default placement is often good enough.

After upgrading my base for the first time, I got a pop-up that literally blocked the upgrade I chose. This happened many times after, where the pop-up help box BLOCKED the text of the upgrade I chose. I tried to click to move this pop-up window, but that actually chose the ability (without me being able to even read it). This is so egregious that I will uninstall and refund right away

Very cool tower defence game. Like the art style, music has some pretty nice tracks, and the gameplay is lots of fun. Challenge is very modular, so if you want to do an easy run with a huge base you can, or you can tune things so you need to perfectly micro/plan your economy every round just to win. The main campaign is very fun, lots of surprises that were really cool.

Bonus challenges make things very fun, and there are lots of added modes (puzzle modifiers, endless roguelike mode) for even more gameplay variety. While some people might get a bit tired of the formula eventually, there's more than enough unique game in here well worth the price. Really enjoying it!

Thronefall est un bon petit jeu.
Le gameplay est efficace et plutôt varié.
On y trouve :
- des tours (nan sans déc...)
- des bâtiments de ressources
- des fortifications
- des troupes (mélée, distance, élite)
- un héros (avec des armes et compétences)
- un système de bonus/malus

On peut changer de stratégie et on doit même parfois (en privilégiant tours, troupes ou héros, etc...) .
Les graphismes et l'OST sont simplistes mais la DA est sympathique.
En revanche, le jeu est court.
Il y a un peu de rejouabilité mais pas trop (les emplacements sont pré-assignés à chaque bâtiment)
J'aurai donc tendance à le conseiller sans hésitation... mais en promo

Great game, but I really wish they told you more about what anything is doing. no info on what anything does beyond the tower upgrades' "+x% damage, +x% projectile speed, etc..." and even that's not very useful since I don't know how much damage the towers were doing to begin with, or how that stacks with any other damage modifiers or the resistances some enemies have, or god-forbid how much damage me or my units are doing for comparison. Still, it doesn't matter that much, and its fun to plan and adjust your strategies for different maps and modifiers.

Super fun! All I wish was that there was even more content, but it was a great 20 hours! I wish there was an endless mode and a map where I can pick where things go.

Haven't played a tower defense game in a long time, but this is exactly what I want in one. Tons of experimentation with the weapons, perks, and mutations. I enjoy the quest system for each map. It gives me a clear goal. Love the amount of strategy you can pour into this game while seeming so simple. Thanks for making the game!

开局还要造主基地就挺莫名其妙的，不造什么都干不了还强行要让你操作一下，既然主打一个简洁还整这脱裤子放屁的一步干嘛？一个策略塔防还沾点RTS的游戏，好多关键数值也不标明一下，你要标就全标，要么就全不标，标但只标一点我也是服了，实际效果全凭感觉和摸索。耐心打完全皇冠后玩了一下奖励模式给我玩吐了，什么狗屎小游戏，纯粹是给玩家上刑来了，好感瞬间全无。

quite enjoyable if your looking for a chill time, pretty intuitive and i think its a good introduction for rts games. has rts feel mid round but also gives you time to think in between nights. would recomend at least giving it a try

Scrolling around the internet I've seen the ads of the guys who ripped off this game and thought "man it would be a nice game to play, too bad it's just a mobile game designed to farm microstransactions".

Well rejoice because this is the real deal and there are no microtransactions, just fun gameplay. It saves your progress, big plus that makes it an easy choice for when you have those 10-15 minutes to fill while waiting for something.
