The gameplay is designed around a new combo system that allows you to link together punches and kicks. Quickly put enemies in to the ground, keep them stunned or launch them in to the air and continue to juggle! Maintaining a combo will fill your Super meter faster and allow you to unleash a devastating attack. You can also find and use weapons such as crowbars, swords and machine guns scattered around the levels. Last but not least, each character is equipped with a unique sidearm but ammunition is scarce so use it wisely! The game is easy to get in to but not easy to master.

최근에 이 게임 2편 데모 해보고 재밌어서 구입했어요.

확실히 2편 보단 구리긴 한데 모션은 나쁘진 않네요.

그래도 이련 류 게임 중엔 타격감은 진짜 좋은 편이에요.

난이도는 노말 기준으로 쉬운 편인데 조작키가 너무 많네요.

펀치, 킥, 점프, 필살기, 총 조준, 줍기 까지 ㅋㅋㅋ

2편에서는 줄었는줄 알았더니 더 늘었고 ㅋㅋㅋ

여튼 중간에 보너스 스테이지는 좋았는데 전반적인 진행이

너무 같아서 따분하네요. 명작 베어너클 4 때문에 빗뎀 업 게임의

기준이 너무 높아진것도 있지만 전반적으로 마무리는 아쉽네요.

근데 음악은 꽤 좋네요. 또 베어너클4 보단 쉽기 때문에 뇌비우고

스트레스 풀기엔 좋은편이에요. 조작 버튼 좀 줄이고 적들의 종류를

늘려서 게임 플레이를 좀 더 긴장감 있게 만들면 좋겠네요.

전 세일해서 4000원 정도에 사서 돈 아깝진 않은데 정가 주긴 아쉽네요.

The TakeOver is a beat 'em up that I had high hopes for, but it ended up being just too repetitive. Even for a fan of this genre, the enemies take far too long to defeat, which makes fighting the same enemies over and over feel like a chore rather than a challenge.

The music is a major highlight and the parts that reminded me of RoadBlasters and After Burner were fun distractions from the beat em up action.

The game reminded me a lot of the old Atomiswave game Demolish Fist, which was a great game that had it's faults.
Some of the backgrounds, like the arcade, look superb, but others are just bland. It is an okay game, but the negative elements really spoilt the experience.

I recommend a playthrough, but hopefully they improve things in the sequel.

It's okay for an homage to beat'em ups, but it lacks that forgiveness to drop you back right into the middle of the action. Rather it forces you to start all over again at the beginning of a stage. Case in point the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ final boss fight. Very tedious to the point that the game loses steam and becomes one boring fighting game that takes way too long to complete. A fighting game done in an hour? Sure. More than that? Did the developer ever play a fighting game in their life? The final boss is so annoying and tedious I just chalk the game being "done" and over with with the stage before that and that's about it. The game isn't half bad, but it's not half good either.

Solid beat em up that gets old after a few hours. Nice graphics and generally fun fighting mechanics. I wish there were a few more basic moves. It feels like you repeat the same moves throughout the whole game. It is good on discount, but I wouldn't reccommed paying full price.

Enemy variety is good and they look cool, but they often feel like they just stand around. There are some robots on the later levels and the robots are a lot more active making the normal enemies seem even more passive by comparison. Bosses often only have 2 moves that they just spam so they aren't that fun to fight. Last boss is just more of the same. For me, it made the game end on a low spot. It would have been a better game if there were less enemies with more aggressiveness and more attack variety.

Hay muchos niños llorando en las reseñas pero sinceramente aunque digan que es una copia de varios juegos retro sigue siendo mejor que Street of rage 4 o double dragon Neon por las mecánicas que tiene y por el apartado audiovisual (hay canciones hechas por el mismisimo Yuzo Koshiro), la variedad de enemigos, la historia está contada en forma de viñetas al estilo Cómic además que literalmente tardé casi 3 horas en terminar la historia y eso es demasiado para un beat em up! también es rejugable porque desbloquea un personaje y otro modo de juego. Disfruté cada maldito segundo.

Para aquellos que disfrutan los Beat,em ups ,the takeover toma la inspiración de juegos como Final Fight o Streets of Rage, pero con un toque de generación actual, además de introducir algunas ideas nuevas.

La historia es muy sencilla la ciudad de Steel Haven ha sido tomada por la unión de diferentes bandas criminales, estos secuestran la hija adoptiva del policía Ethan y su mujer Megan. Estos se unen en su búsqueda con la ayuda de su cuñado Connor. Toda la historia está narrada a través de un estilo comic, ilustrada pobremente con un estilo visual completamente diferente al del juego principal, pero que añaden un poco de contexto al recorrido para las siguientes 7 etapas del viaje de los personajes.

A lo largo de los 7 capítulos el juego ofrece 2 niveles extras diferentes muy poco visto en este tipo de juegos, una persecución por las rutas de la calle arriba de un vehículo y otra persecución aérea arriba de un F-15, lo que hace que exista una variedad de entornos hostiles atractivos, además de desbloquear personajes ocultos y de emplear estrategia contra sus jefes de banda para cada nivel.
El sistema de combate te permite crear combos entre patadas, agarres y puños o combinarlos con el movimiento especial, un movimiento defensivo que elimina los enemigos que te rodean y un ataque frontal que es más potente, al realizar ambos ataques te penaliza con un poco de salud.
Los movimientos de los personajes son muy fluidos, puedes correr por todo el escenario así como rodar de arriba y abajo por la pantalla haciendo el combate más rápido y frenético, además introduce mecánicas nuevas para cada personaje, estos consiste en que llevaran un arma de fuego, que será de gran utilidad para controlar multitudes general. Otro sistema es el medido de Ira (rage) que se llenara cuando combinemos cadenas de combos, este medidor te permite ganar un periodo de aumento de poder e invulnerabilidad, otro movimiento especial también se llenara igualmente mediante cadenas de combos, este medidor te permitirá el apoyo policial que consiste en un racimo de misiles sobre el escenario para limpiar la zona, muy parecido al primer street of rage.

A nivel visual todo funciona perfecto a 60 fps, los gráficos son siempre nítidos, los niveles están renderizados en 3D y lucen excelente y realistas. A nivel audio los golpes, patadas y objetos rompiéndose se escuchan satisfactoriamente, la música es una mezcla de estilo techno con heavy metal y se siente bien acompañando la acción de la aventura.

El juego también ofrece un modo supervivencia y un modo desafío, así como un cooperativo solo local, quizás moleste un poco lo repetitivo de sus combates y la falta de juego on line, pero es un título pulido, fácil de jugar y ofrece unas buenas horas de peleas callejeras, además de su estilo estético que lo hace diferente a los demás beat em up.

Thoughts based on my two plays (yeah, both times within minutes of each other around 2H:45M).

- The sudden gameplay change from Beat-em-Up to vehicular combat feels... actually well done. If there's one thing that usually throws me off my 'game' (pun totally intended) it's a change of gameplay style out of nowhere that doesn't even bother to try to ease you in or be fair about it.

- The character and enemy variety follow more or less typical BeU staples, including the sudden shift into the supernatural... or maybe it's paranormal... kinda body horror weirdness out of not quite nowhere (assuming you've played one of the 90's titles that sudden switch is a reference toward). And, as usual, some enemies are clearly filler to get smashed and rack up points. Others are there to remind you that even on 'Easy' you shouldn't let your guard down (the Mechs in particular actually almost feel [i]too[/i] cheap, even on Easy mode, until you figure out their pattern).

- I haven't got any of the not-automatic-on story completion achievements yet, but I came close, so I figure I might on play #3 (co-op so I can get that one too).

Eu comprei esse jogo na maior inocência achando que seria só um Briga de Rua bom que eu jogaria por umas 3 horas e depois iria embora... Me enganei.
Arte e level design de tirar o fôlego (tranquilamente um dos jogos mais bonitos que joguei recentemente), sistema de pancadaria delirante e uma variedade legal de personagens e combos para aprender.

Graphics is very nice. Music is nice.
Gameplay... that's where this game struggles. It is very repetitive, too few enemy types, too few variety of game mechanics, no progression to compensate this.
Controls are very clunky even with the fastest character.
I want to recommend this game, I really want. But I can't. Better go for other more polished and feature-rich beat-am-up like Huntdown or TNMT.

Um dos ultimos jogos que zerei em 2025, todo em modo co-op !. The TakeOver traz uma gameplay beat ’em up muito nostálgica e divertida, com ambientação diversificada, boas lutas contra chefes, história genérica e gráficos interessantes.

Acompanhamos um grupo de lutadores que entra em uma jornada por conta de uma criança que foi sequestrada por uma poderosa organização criminosa que domina a cidade. Então, o grupo se une para enfrentar as gangues e avançar pelos territórios controlados pela organização. A narrativa é simples, direta e esquecível; logo, todo o enredo vira uma completa bagunça, envolvendo todo tipo de gente e até mesmo monstros. Vale citar que temos 4 personagens jogáveis. Cada um possui estilo de luta, velocidade e golpes próprios, o que traz uma boa variedade ao combate, especialmente no modo co-op

Os personagens contam com animações bem trabalhadas, que dão mais peso e diversão ao combate corpo a corpo. O estilo visual utiliza cores vibrantes, relembrando os arcades clássicos sem trazer uma sensação de jogo datado. A trilha sonora mistura rock e música eletrônica, ajudando a manter a adrenalina durante os combates, e combina bem com o clima agressivo e de perigo constante presente nos cenários do game. O maior problema desse jogo é que ele acaba em um piscar de olhos: em apenas uma tarde, eu e meu primo zeramos o jogo, restando apenas os modos secundários e a busca pelo 100%. Em promoção, o game sai por menos de 10 pila, e recomendo fortemente dar uma chance caso curta o gênero.

No recuerdo el último juego al que jugué retos dentro del juego que no dan logros.
Si te pasaste el Streets of Rage 1 de la Mega Drive puedes con este. Es igual pero con combos más largos y con la posibilidad de variar entre diferentes rutas de combos sin ser nada complicados. Tú elijes si machacas botón (opción completamente válida) o si te pones creativo, lo alargas y sacas algo más de daño.

Y LA MÚSICA... ESPECTACULAR.
La ha hecho Little V Mills, tiene canal de youtube y resulta que yo ya estaba suscrito antes de saber que hizo la música de este juego XDDD

El bonus de los aviones... ¡Qué recuerdos del Space Harrier 2 de la Mega Drive! XD

Un 10 este juego. Vale cada céntimo que pagues por él aun sin rebajas.

Что ж, наверно это самый жесткий Beat 'em up который мне попадался. Сложнее даже чем проклятая версия SOR 3 (кто понял, тот понял). Пару слов об игре:
1. Игра довольно длинная, как для игры, которую надо пройти за 1 раз.
2. Враги не ждут, пока ты проведешь комбо ихним товарищам. Они зайдут тебе за спину, и проведут свое комбо. Надо постоянно дропать комбо, то бы не лишиться половину HP (да, на HARD урон лютый).
3. Добрая половина врагов умеет стрелять (в beat 'em up'е), при чем они это прекрасно делают из-за экрана, вне поля твоей видимости.
4. По классике олд скулла все боссы в конце повторяются. К тому разрабы явно вдохновились аркадными высерами Capcom, и все боссы еще с бесконечными миньонами.
А теперь самое интересное, поговорим по некоторые ачивки.
1 Пройти игру на HARD. Тут надо что-то комментировать? Пройти сложную игру на сложной сложности. И да, все в тех традициях олд скулла, никаких сохранений.
2. Пройти последнего босса без урона. Как думаете, на сколько сложный последний босс в сложной игре? Да, все плохо. Твои атаки в рандомный момент прерываются, и ты жрешь урон. Невозможно его мувсет просчитать. Ах, и да, у него в миньонах самые сильные рядовые мобы.
И вишенка на торте
3. Пройти всю игру не разу не умерев. Вот тут точно нечего комментировать. Можно только добавить бонусом, что в одном месте разрабы банально забыли положить хилку. Она должна быть, но ее нет. 95%, что твой ран закончится именно там.
Собственно сложность, это главная отличительная черта данного beat 'em up'а от других. Если кратко о других аспектах игры, то музыка и графика на высоте. По геймплею, можно закомбить сколь угодно длинное комбо, просто тебе этого сделать не дадут) Враги разнообразные, к каждому нужен свой подход. Для самых упоротых, есть режим выживания с бесконечными волнами.
Из минусов отмечу пожалуй только отсутствие онлайна. Кооп возможен только по remote play, либо с реальным другом.

Ένα σύγχρονο "Street of Rage" θα πω!

Συνδυάζει gameplay απ'όλα τα ωραία beat em up της εποχής του 90, όπως το Street Of Rage, Final Fight αλλά και Punisher!

Έχει ωραία ατμόσφαιρα που σε ταξιδεύει πίσω στο SEGA Megadrive και στο SNES, ενώ το εικαστικό του είναι αρκετά σύγχρονο μπορώ να πω.

Στα αρνητικά του θεωρώ ότι είναι κάπως οι αρχηγοί, το μοτίβο τους είναι αρκετά συγκεκριμένο και μαθαίνεται αρκετά γρήγορα.

Σίγουρα θα ήθελα να δω και κάποια συνέχεια με πιο ανανεωμένο gameplay ή ακόμα και 3D όπως είναι το Fighting Force.

Σίγουρα πάντως προτείνεται για αυτούς που λατρεύουν τα beat em up παιχνίδια!

Υ.Γ. Θα ήθελα να είχε και ελληνικά, αφού είναι από Έλληνα δημιουργό.

O jogo é incrivelmente bonito, bons gráficos de acordo com o jogo em plataforma, um jogo bem atualizado com uma pegada dos anos 90, me faz até lembrar o cheiro de cigarro e cerveja enquanto jogava num fliperama do bar da esquina de casa, único problema do jogo é que não tem um save game, mesmo q não seja um problema direto do jogo, pros dias de hoje isso faz muita diferença, mas pra quem é dos anos 90/2k isso é só um detalhe, me lembrou muito street of rage do mega drive com uma pegada de combos do CADILLAC DINOSAURS, jogão.

For full context, play time is around an hour and I got to the end of stage four. Big Fightn'Rage and Streets of Rage 4 fan, along with older beat'em ups. Played on Normal mode, didn't even go to the options menu until after I stopped. Double Dragon Neon and River City Girls also come to mind on what I'm used to.

I dig the music, it's pretty rocking. Sadly, I don't care for the rest of the game. The move sets are pretty basic which isn't a bad thing in of itself, The gun doesn't really do much for me because it doesn't deal more damage than a standard hit. The enemy variety is there but outside of how their attacks look I can't understand what makes them different. In the two above mentioned games, enemy variety is upfront and center to the point you really need to focus on dynamics when facing a crowd. In this, you have different models and names but almost nothing stands out except for when they feel like attacking.

On the topic of enemies attacking, I've left my back open plenty of times and I'll see foes meander around without going in to attack. Maybe it's because it was on normal mode but that felt really weird to me. Enemies are durable but they really don't do a lot about it. The Breaker guys especially will block your entire combo except the last hit and that's... kinda it. The quickest option is to just grab and knee him four times per grab. Will take you maybe three or four grabs.

I really am not the sort to rag on graphics because I grew up playing ASCII roguelikes. I'm not a shallow man. That said, the animations and graphics just look odd to me. Maybe its the frame rate they're at or that they seem stiff but something about it is off to me.

When it came to the two bosses I fought, I used the game's Rage Mode to basically erase them without really learning any movesets. The first boss had grenades blowing up all at once which blasted through my speakers, that wasn't fun. Second boss... he was there. He shot me a few times because the super mode took off around 90% of his HP except for his i-frame stances that made him immune to damage.

You can argue it's not much of a gripe but I also don't care for how, when you pause, your only option is to quit or continue. When you realize how common grenades are and how badly they'll assault you through sound, you're going to have to alt-tab out or lower your speaker volume a ton. There are many grenades. As well as grenades, items are dropping all the time but they're random baubles that increase your score or give you ammo for your sidearm. I didn't die though I came close in the fourth level, just for a burger to pop out for a full refresh. I don't know if they're randomized or come out at specific points but healing items aren't so rare.

Again, I dig some of the ideas and got to touch on the driving game mode. I dig that a lot. The rest of it... I just don't. It feels too weird. It feels very stiff for what it is and the enemies aren't really taking it seriously. It could be because I was on normal and am used to other games going hard. If you want something that is a side-scroller and really gets you going beyond just music, go with any of the above mentioned titles.

It is a good beat 'em up with good graphics, mediocre comics art, and a good soundtrack. However, in the middle of the 6th stage, the enemies become very spammy, and you are getting pinned down by them. Had to set the game to easy difficulty to complete it. Apart from the last part of the game, I'd say it's OK overall, but unbalanced at times.

Having played a lot of beat em ups of old and modern times, I cannot say I'm convinced with "The Takeover". Impact of blows and kicks feels kind of unsatisfying, and graphics are, although 3D, not too convincing, slightly chaotic, with some aspects hard to decipher. In addition, the main characters feel kind of weird, the bully Rambo-style character a bit out of place, and some strange dimensions with the legs of the female character. When choosing the character, I had some difficulty finding one that feels okay to play. I like the soundtrack of "The Takeover", especially in the intro sequence, but once that seuqnece is over, the game didn't grab me.

Pros
1. You can do long combos which is fun.
2. The soundtrack ranges from middle of the road to great.
3. The game offers some nice unlockables such as an extra character and the ability to switch characters in game like a team.
4. The graphics reminds me of Killer Instinct which is nice and a pretty bold move when every beat em up is either pixel art or hand drawn.
5. The campaign has some cool mini game levels that breaks from beating people up.

Cons
1. The game is way too long to complete. Unless the game has open world or rpg elements, traditional beat em ups should not take close to 2 hours to finish.
2. Enemies can be fairly tanky. So unless your doing long optimal combos they stick around and can swarm you up pretty fast which can boggle the game and pace.
3. The cutscenes are are in comic form which is a big deviation from the prerender art.
4. A lot of explosives goes off in the later stages which is really annoying. Too many hazards that interrupt flow.
5. The default controls have very awkward button map placing. Lucky you can change it.

This game is a love it, hate it kind of game. Do I still recommend it? Yes, in regards to the addicting long combos you can do, but the game has clear faults in it's pacing which makes it frustrating at times. Pick it up when it's on a good sale and you won't regret it.

Think this games strong points are its solid controls and neat visual style.

The story was not just cheesy and all that. Its kinda painfully so. Played a little to straight for me. Also the challenge and enemy design feel a bit floopy. I was engaged only so much, but having played Final Fight and the like, it lacks the edge. Enemys just don't feel aggressive enough, like they wear scare of forcing you to use your super or something. The last few stages had some edge. Last thing, the game feels a bit too bloated.

I'll still recommend it if you just wanna ♥♥♥♥ around with a beat'em up with a friend, i might be funner on higher deficulty or something. and again, the visuals are pretty spiffy. But over all, no from me I hate to say.

É evidente que The Takeover busca inspiração em gigantes do gênero, como Streets of Rage e Final Fight. Ele é, sem dúvida, um beat 'em up competente, que entrega o que promete. A jogabilidade é sólida, mas, como você notou, não vai além do esperado. Ele cumpre seu papel sem inovar, o que o coloca na categoria de "bom o suficiente", mas sem o brilho de um clássico.

O ponto que realmente se destaca é a trilha sonora. Ela é legal, vibra com a ação e eleva a experiência. É o tipo de música que faz você querer continuar a briga, mesmo que o resto do jogo seja apenas "OK".

Já a parte gráfica eu achei estranha. Não é feio, mas a estética parece um pouco desalinhada, com personagens e cenários que não se encaixam perfeitamente.

Os personagens são caricatos e a história é clichê. Em um gênero onde a simplicidade do enredo é comum, a falta de carisma dos protagonistas acaba pesando. A narrativa é apenas um pano de fundo, e a ausência de algo mais cativante faz com que a experiência geral seja esquecível. The Takeover diverte, mas não tem a personalidade para marcar sua memória como os clássicos que o inspiraram.

Para quem busca o 100%....desafios como "zerar sem morrer" ou "derrotar o chefe sem levar dano" são o tipo de coisa que questiona o propósito das conquistas. Eles não agregam diversão nem uma sensação de recompensa. São apenas obstáculos artificiais que tiram o prazer de jogar.

No fim das contas, The Takeover é um jogo que vale a pena, mas só se for em uma promoção muito boa. No preço cheio, a experiência não compensa. É um jogo que diverte por um tempo, mas não é uma experiência que você vai querer revisitar.

Good effort at making Streets of Rage 2.5D, but it ultimately falls a bit flat.
Graphically it looks good and bad at the same time.
Over 50% of the cut scenes didn't work at all for me, but the ones that did were not great.
Like that LT is run, but I missed the classic run into jumping double-leg kick move and that wasn't present here (for the main dude at least - only guy I played as so far).
The non-fighting stages were a neat side-piece, but weren't explained and were clunky.
2 later bosses were a bit too cheap with spinning attacks, plus the endless extra enemies in the boss fights weren't fun.
Overall normal difficulty almost felt too easy, except for the final stage with all of the bosses repeated, which is what the older titles did, but in this case it ramps difficulty a bit too high.
Beat on the Deck, which it ran great on, but it likely would be better on PC as the button config screen was clearly designed for larger screens. All in all I don't recommend, but just barely, saw another review would've given a 4/10, I agree.
For $3 it's a serviceable Beat-em-up and they included some other modes that I haven't tried yet. There are worse games you could spend $3 on.

This one is a very strange game, no doubt about it. I've seen some gameplay videos of people saying it's a great beat'em up, I wasn't going to buy it because it looked ugly to me but then I've decided to give it a chance... The game is ugly indeed. The graphics remind me of those ugly pre-rendered games from the 90's, stuff like Rise of the Robots and X-Perts for the Sega Genesis, really disgusting and cheap 3D art work. Also, the graphics from the game opening screen, the gameplay itself and the cutscenes are all different, so they knew the graphics were horrible.

The music is amazing, they even had the master Yuzo Koshiro aboard on the team, so you couldn't get it wrong. However, they still managed to mess the music programming as some sections of the game have no music and can you notice they did something wrong related to cycling the soundtracks as the game flows, LOL.

The gameplay is cool. Not the best system, but you can taste the Streets of Rage influence as you bang the bad guys all over the screen. It's kinda complex and you have a 3 different special attacks system, that goes from a classic area of effect power move that drains a bit of health, a chargeable bomb attack that hits everyone on the screen and a "rage" chargeable trigger that raises your damage drastically as gives you invincibility by auto blocking enemy attacks. You've got two basic attacks that are the punch and the kick as they play some kind of role of heavy and light attack respectively as you can alternate between them to build your combos. There is also a firearm attack move that can be reloaded as you find ammo across the stages and weapons that fall on the ground although these weapons you find weren't programmed in a very clever fashion as you lose the ability of grabbing enemies or even using regular attacks - in case of firearms such as the rifle - as you're wielding them. Pretty strange in my opinion, I've never seen any other beat'em up with those limitations regarding weapons scrounged on the fly.

If I could give it a rate, I'd give it a 4/10. It's fun, the music is cool but everything else is clearly unfinished or done in a very poor way. It seems it's the first Pelikan13 release, so maybe they will come back with more experienced developers that won't repeat mistakes committed in the past.

可圈可点的清版过关，特色是人物的精灵图用的3d建模照片，粘土人一样的画风让我联想到《神凰拳》，除了一个开车关和一个开飞机关，剩下都是步战关（有一关是无限子弹射击），放着30年前可能还行，但现在看就比较单调。
打击感不错，可以打浮空连，拳脚攻击随便衔接，最后一下按↑a就会打浮空，然后再打几下，最后技能收尾，而且和早期清版一样放技能扣血。不同角色的玩法差不多，特别是大招全是一样的召唤导弹轰炸。
有射击玩法，但是必须掏枪然后原地站桩射，收枪也有硬直，可以在连段最后补伤害。
还有个狂暴模式，开启后伤害很高，打boss很快，比较蛋疼的是只有狂暴模式下才能格挡敌人的攻击，有点鸡肋。
不过貌似是一人开发，还是值得一玩的，如果能加入更多路线选择和玩法就好了。

Quem escreve que o jogo não é fluido só pode estar louco. The TakeOver é um beat n'up extremamente satisfatório e que se apresenta como um sucessor espiritual de Streets of Rage 3... Bem, mas nós temos um Streets of Rage 4 oficial, que é superior ao The TakeOver em todos os sentidos; mesmo assim, este é um título claramente mais barato e que, mesmo assim, não fica muito atrás.

Os personagens jogáveis seguem justamente os arquétipos sustentados na série SoR (e em outras séries do estilo): um personagem com equilíbrio entre força e velocidade (claramente inspirado em Axel), um bastante forte porém lento (Max de SoR 2 é uma óbvia referência) e uma representação feminina menos forte e mais veloz (inspirada em Blaze).

A história é tipo de filme pornô: está lá, mas você não liga para ela. O que realmente importa é descer a lenha em quem tiver pela frente, e esta parte é bastante satisfatória. Há até umas fases que fogem da lógica beat n'up; em uma você controla um veículo e sai atirando nos inimigos, e em outra você controla uma aeronave (e também sai atirando nos inimigos)... Eu realmente fiquei surpreso com essa mudança de tom.

Mas nem tudo são flores... A trilha sonora é boa, mas não é muito marcante (ela apenas está lá); há, também, um problema nos personagens inimigos, que são poucos e, por isto, não repetidos ao extremo ao longo das fases.

Bem, The TakeOver é um jogo bastante divertido e foi uma promessa que que fez justiça a quase tudo o que foi apresentado no marketing. Gosta de beat n'up? Então jogue este.

Bonjour a vous.

Je dispose d'une bonne dizaine d'heures sur "the takeover".

J'ai donc jouer en mode normal en solitaire.

On peut regretter que les items tembés au sol , ont la manie de vouloir disparaitre après quelques secondes , malgrè la bagarre qui sévi très durement.

En parlant de difficulté , on peut raisonnablement dire que ce jeu est très difficile .

Moi qui ai jouer en mode normal , je n'ai tout simplement pas réussi a terminer mon jeu : /

Les explosions sont beaucoup trop présentent , là ou , il y a une vingtaine d'années , ces explosions étaient l'apanache des boss de fin de niveau.

Ce jeu est pourtant une bonne copie du légendaire " Street of Rage " de SEGA et de Street Fighter de Capcom ".

Mais street of rage a bénéficier d'une bande son inoubliable et rëveur , doublé d'une jouabilité exemplaire , là ou , The takeover prend le mode normal en lui accordant une grande difficulté , doublés d'une gestion 3D isomètrique toute relative quant a sa précision , ce qui n'aide pas , vous en conviendrez.

Ceci dit , les graphismes sont plutôt beaux et les décors sympathiques .
Un bon beat them all , en somme .

Ps: Méfiez vous car le jeu a une sale manie , a chaque reboot du jeu , a re paramèter la difficulé en " Noormal "...

Joguinho maneiro! O gráfico, por si só, é bem bonito e torna a gameplay bastante satisfatória. Tem fases bem variadas, o que evita que o jogo fique apenas no estilo "briga de rua" e ajuda a não enjoar do ritmo.

Esse jogo tem alguns elementos básicos que lembram Streets of Rage 4, mas é só uma semelhança Streets of Rage 4 é, de longe, superior no quesito pancadaria. Falando nisso, a porradaria aqui é boa, mas a gameplay dá uma leve travada em alguns momentos, embora nada que comprometa a jogatina.

Como eu sempre digo, jogar em coop com um amigo é a melhor forma de aproveitar ao máximo. E, em dias de promoção, vale muito a pena pegar! Os fãs do gênero vão se amarrar!

Definitely a reccomend. The graphic style first felt a bit strange since im used to Streets of Rage for two and a half decades . But I really enjoyed the graphical style after I got used to it. The characters are cool and sexy. THAT ist what I want to see in a Beat 'em up. Regarding the Soundtrack. Well, It's mediocre at best. Sure. It's Yuzo Koshiro. But his best days making good dance tracks are long over. There are better house & techno composers out there who aren't expensive as Yuzo Koshiro. Nonetheless, it has a good game play. So if you like the Streets or Rage Series you will like this game. With a better Soundrack a bit more polish, so that it feels more like Streets of Rage II not like Streets of Rage 3 which wasn't an improvement in the series, and a few more enemy character the game could have been awesome and a real good rival to the SOR Series.

A completely vanilla beat'em up, with as many Pros as it has Cons.
Get on sale and play with a friend or solo on normal difficulty.

On Normal: the game is fun, not too hard, a bit dull at times, but keeps the core of the game fun.

On Hard: the game is frustrating, not well designed and chore that is not fun to go through unless you are a masochist.

Better beat'em up include: Streets of Rage 1,2,3 & 4, TMNT: Shredder's revenge, Mother Russia Bleeds, Castle Crashers, Shank 1&2, Gauntlet(By Arrowhead).

Pros:
Your combos have juggle-ability like in other good fighters

You actually have a ranged weapon with limited ammo

Rage mode helps with frustrating fights since you cannot take damage and get a significant damage boost

The music & level design slaps

There are on-rails levels to give you break from the monotonous button mashing

You get to pick up ammo for your ranged weapon and a machine gun in certain sections to spice up the gameplay.

Cons:
There are cheap bosses. When you have no ammo and low health, the spinning bayblade attack that some bosses do is too fast and tracks? With no block option you are always loosing in some way. Other games make these kinds of moves fast but not tracking or slow but tracking. This game chose both hard options and makes it a nightmare to kill these bosses without Rage or Ammo.

Bosses have infinite goons. Not a problem in itself, but their respawn speed is too fast, as soon as you kill 1 of them, the moment you hit the boss with a combo you get a spawned good with a gun to shoot or break your combo, and that is if the boss doesn't already break out of your combo with an armored attack or explosion. The result is a lot of frustrating moments, when the solution you should be able to do is kill the goons, hit the boss, rinse & repeat.

The melee weapons are slow and lack damage. Normally in these games, melee weapons that you pick up have low durability and do a lot of damage. Weapons here are slow, knock-down enemies, killing your combos, have no durability, but get destoyed if you drop them 2-3 times? That is confusing and unnecessary. I'm better of not using them unless are 4-5 enemies stacked together, which I can very cheaply kill by hitting all of them with the weapon over and over and over again.

Some achievements straight up mislead you. The kill 100, 500 achievements do not specify that you have to complete them in 1 run. Which makes 100% completion a chore.

Hard difficulty is not balanced: In harder modes in other fighting games you increase the HP and/or numbers of enemies as well as maybe their damage. The problem with this game is that someone thought it was a good idea to increase their movement speed, decision making speed of enemies as well. Resulting in you taking so much damage so fast, that picking any character with lower speed is a death sentence to your combos and life.

Survival mode is badly designed: Normally in survival mode you start off easy and slowly spawn enemies of lower tiers ramping it up every few enemies killed or perhaps in waves, making each wave increase in size and enemy tiers and/or strength. Again someone decided that having the same spawning time as the boss's goons is a good idea. Resulting in slower character being swarmed and having no way to killing a single goon, before 2-3 more spawn, walk behind you by the time you finish your 1 combo and give you backshots. You need to play higher speed characters to even survive.

Definitely a Streets of Rage inspired beat-em up, however the negatives outweigh the positives here.

The title screen, banner, in game graphics, and cut scenes all have different art, which is kinda weird to me. Combat, while feeling ok, has some strange controller binds making it feel way more complex than necessary. It also feels like a slog to get through with all the enemies having way too large health bars.

I would give this a thumbs in the middle. If you REALLY want a beat-em up fix and the game’s on sale, go for it; however there’s better games in the genre out there.
