『Thomas Was Alone』などで知られるMike Bithellによる、ナラティブ（物語重視）なソリティア。

基本的なルールはソリティアだが、最大の特徴はJ・Q・Kの絵札が持つ「特殊能力（スキル）」だ。
カードを爆破したり、並び替えたり、特定の場所へ移動させたりと、スパイチームごとの能力を駆使してクリアを目指す。FMV（実写ムービー）によるストーリーテリングと、サイバーパンクな演出が融合している。

Windowsに付属している暇つぶしの代名詞「ソリティア」が、演出と音楽だけでここまで化けるのかと驚かされる。Jon Everistによる重厚なエレクトロニック・サウンドと、洗練されたUIは極めてスタイリッシュだ。

ゲームプレイも単なる運ゲーではない。
「次のカードを引くために、あえてこのスパイの能力を発動させる」といったパズル的な思考が必要になり、連鎖が決まった時の爽快感は格別だ。1プレイが短く、キャンペーンモードも数時間で終わるため、映画一本を見るような感覚でサクッと遊べる良作。

Brilliantly beautiful solitaire game with a short entertaining enough story that doesn't overstay its welcome.

I find myself revisiting this game every few years or so. It's like sitting down and enjoying that old nostalgic movie you haven't seen in a little while.

Just finished my third run through of the campaign as of this review. It's genuinely a little evergreen gem.

TL;DR: One of the best solitaire games I've played, and I play a LOT of solitaires (Zachtronics, A Solitaire Mystery, Solitaire Master (Android)).

- An engaging, unique, and challenging solitaire variant thanks to the mechanics in the various crews and their respective face cards
- Presentation is so surprisingly high effort for what one would come to expect from a Solitaire game: stylish and customizable UI, music that dynamically responds to gameplay, FMV cutscenes
- Story is melodramatic, campy, but takes itself just seriously enough to be fun

The only thing I can think to take it over the top would be to go full Supergiant with side-mini games (not present in this iteration) and on the narrative (now that I mention it, I wonder if Transistor was an inspiration for this game?).

The Solitaire Conspiracy is a fantastic game! Every bit of it is thematically on point. It is a unique take on the classic format in a very engaging way and hard to put down. Essentially each crew's face cards have a unique ability that affects gameplay and the crews are fun to unlock throughout the campaign. While some are more "helpful" than others, it's a fun challenge going in with certain crew combinations. By far though, the story and acting is a great reason to play this game. It really makes the theme and gets you invested. I'd be very appreciative of a sequel or more content for the game. Definitely check this one out if you're into solitaire.

Глубокой тактики ждать не стоит. Если подходить к игре как к серьёзной головоломке, она может разочаровать. Вся суть местного геймплея — это создание состояния потока. У игрока есть доступ к различным шпионским командам, каждая из которых олицетворяется какой-либо карточной мастью и обладает своими читерскими способностями. Эти умения настолько мощные, что они фактически ломают правила пасьянса, исключая возможность проигрыша или безвыходного тупика. Вы не столько решаете задачу, сколько нажимаете одни и те же кнопки, чтобы активировать красивые спецэффекты и продвинуться дальше по сюжету.

Геймплей, таким образом, здесь служит ритмической связкой между стильными FMV-вставками с живыми актёрами. In The Solitaire Conspiracy, he applies this treatment to the classic "Streets and Alleys" card game, transforming meditative card-shuffling into a high-octane spy thriller. The game shines not because of how it implements card mechanics, but because it feels less like a traditional game and more like a feature film with the illusion of interactivity.

Don't expect deep tactical gameplay. If you approach this as a serious brain-teaser, you’re likely to be disappointed. The entire experience is designed around creating a state of flow. You have access to various spy crews, each represented by a card suit with unique, cheat-like abilities. These powers are so potent they effectively break the rules of solitaire, making it nearly impossible to lose or hit a dead end. You aren't really solving a puzzle so much as pushing buttons to trigger flashy visual effects and advance the plot.

The gameplay, therefore, acts as a rhythmic bridge between stylish FMV cutscenes featuring live actors. 非常不错的一款赛博朋克风纸牌游戏！规则简单易懂，小牌可以放在大牌上面，没有花色限制，不过不能像传统接龙那样移动一叠排好序的牌，所以很多时候要合理利用技能。不同花色的JQK有着特定的阵营技能，比如Mantis可以把一叠牌炸散，适合很多小牌被埋在底部的情况；DT6可以简单粗暴地把指定花色在场上的最小牌传送到收集堆；Blood Legacy可以把一叠牌升序排列，看似不利于接龙但可以帮助触发其他势力的JQK牌。每局游戏如果在特定步数以内完成即可获得额外经验（即使选择经典模式也是如此），而且重开游戏后初始牌序是不一样的，所以遇到比较棘手的情况（比如所有A都在最底下）可以直接刷开局，成就也都很好拿。

当然个人最喜欢的还是制作组仅仅用普通的纸牌接龙玩法就能构建出全球特工行动的世界观，每次把A放到收集堆就相当于激活了小队成员，JQK牌使用技能就相当于特工出手，把A~K按序收集的过程也可以理解为收集情报或者推进任务进度，于是一局普通的接龙游戏就变成了一次惊心动魄的特工行动，再配上出彩的bgm和炫酷的赛博朋克界面就非常有氛围感了。这大概就是所谓的玩商——即使面对普通的生活日常，也可以插上想象的翅膀脑补成一次拯救世界的特别任务，这大概就是玩单机游戏带给我的最大收获吧。

另外中文翻译捉个虫：Austria是奥地利不是澳大利亚……最开始我看着数个位于欧洲中部但标着澳大利亚的任务感到匪夷所思，点进去后看到维也纳后就豁然开朗了XD

I finally got around to playing this from my backlog. Not that impressed. It introduces a variety of odd card mechanics too quickly to really explore and master each; and the story is so-so bordering on cliched (yup, the bad guy was exactly who I thought they'd be).

The difficulty assumptions must have been rejigged since launch as I recall the default play-style was originally turn-constrained but that is no longer the case - with a freeplay mode that removes almost all difficulty (and engagement) from the game. So your choices are basically a turn-capped mode ("game plus") which is too stringent for the copious amount of new card mechanics they introduce; or a mode conceding to this fact by having no difficulty at all.

Wonderful game with horrific branding. The dolphin-centric banner hides that this is a fast-paced spy-themed card game that makes Solitaire feel like one big, shiny, and very addictive mini-game that has you coming back again and again to explode rows of cards while roleplaying as a top secret spymaster.
You unlock new spy teams to unlock their respective powers. Super fun!
The music is highly repetitive and the dialogue is full of comma splices, but just mute the music and lock in for some campy spy adventures. This game scratched a deep itch for me. When you get that urge to play a new game, this is a solid one!

Пас’янс, зроблений у вигляді шпигунського трилера.

Є історія з доволі-таки кумедними відео-вставками та шпигунським сетингом. І є послідовність рівнів, які потрібно пройти. Чотири масті – це чотири різні угруповання, які допомагають нам зловити головного лиходія. Є цікаві механіки: наприклад, карти з зображеннями певних угруповань мають спеціальні властивості, які можуть допомогти в складанні пас’янсу, якщо їх використати. Наприклад, якщо покласти валета одного з угруповань на стопку карт, уся ця стопка розкидається на інші стопки, що дозволяє дістатися до потрібної карти з цієї колоди.

Зроблено дуже якісно, ігровий процес – нормальний. Але пас’янс є пас’янс – у нього хочеться грати, коли вже більше нема у що грати. Бажано – на мобільному пристрої. Тому продовжувати не хотілося. Хоча загалом гра непогана.

Интересная вариация пасьянса, с механикой разных команд в виде мастей с разными способностями. Так на вечерок или в свободное время посидеть пораскладывать. И чтобы совсем не было скучно лучше проходить с ограниченными ходами, так хоть какой-то вызов будет. Единственный вопрос: почему игра так нагружает видеокарту? Я как будто вместе с игрой параллельно майнер включаю, ладно если бы в игре были какие-то эффекты как например в Tetris Effect, но тут вообще визуал почти статичный. Вот этот момент с оптимизацией сильный минус.

挺有新意的玩法，融入了故事线，整体推荐
欠缺的地方有二：一是关卡设计整体偏简单，而且卡牌都是随机发放，配合能力卡打的太快了；二是故事选择性，既然分了不同派别，那不如给予玩家选择，非黑即白，或是自成派系，最后承担不同的结果
另外关于故事线[spoiler]一个是给予言论自由赋予你公民权利但存在不稳定性因素的社会；一个是个人崇拜为前提的需审核的言论自由社会，这俩就挺现实的[/spoiler]

ソリティアをダラダラやりたい、という欲はソリティアをダラダラやることでしか満たされない。

このゲーム、ビジュアルはすごく良いです。
シナリオムービーがちゃんと作られていたり（スパイ組織の上司からのビデオ）フレーバーテキストやイラスト、デザインがSFっぽくてかなり出来の良いソリティアゲームなんですけど、スート（トランプの模様）別のカードスキルがクリアするためには必須のギミックになっていて、その詰将棋的な側面が難しくて疲れてしまいました。
もちろんカード移動回数が限られていない難易度が低いモードも、自分の手数が限られるモードも両方あるので、このゲームでも気にせずカードの移動の思考錯誤は色々できるんですけど、何故かイージーモードを遊ぶ気になれずクリアできませんでした。あと地味にトランプのスートがハートやスペードなどなじみ深い形ではなく独自のアイコンで、それも視認性が悪かった。
私もソリティアに新しいギミックを入れたらカードの入れ替えを色々できて面白いのでは？と思っていましたが、実際はシャッフルされたトランプの山の列を整理できるかできないか、ランダムな運に委ねてサクサク遊べるオリジナルのソリティアの方が面白いんだな…という感想になりました。
出来は良いと思うし、飽きるまでは楽しく遊べたのでおすすめです。

This isn't a bad game; it's exactly as it is described, in fact. I was hoping the game would have a bit more of an RPG feel or do something more interesting and puzzle like with the powers of the face cards, but a lot of times I tried to avoid using most of the face cards because their powers would hinder me more than help. So it felt just like playing really simplified solitaire with a bare-bones, predictable plot.

So if you REALLY like solitaire, this is a way to spice the experience up a bit. But otherwise it's about as much fun as the free versions that come with Windows.

Very disappointed.

The gameplay twist is very fun and the presentation is amazing, but both wear off quite fast and you are left with a Solitaire game with a cringe story told by internet personalities instead of actors, who do a terrible terrible job at telling the story. Quite cringe, honestly.

This spy thriller starts off strongly with an incredibly well defined ambiance and presentation, a great soundtrack and promising narrative setup, one of the few games to make good use of FMV, well written and played, smoothly animated and entirely bug-free.

However, its gameplay demands a bit of perseverance before it really converges. Some faction powers are not very intuitive on their own, with randomized effects that make it difficult to plan an exact strategy, or an outright negative impact that inadvertently makes their avoidance a primary objective. I had a hard time developing a valid approach around many of them early on, until more factions later became available and their combined powers began to make complete sense.

Once enough complementary factions are at play, particular alliances feel like a stroke of design genius, and the game becomes fully enjoyable from then on. I simply wish there were more of those and less of the randomness and negative effects, especially early on.

Campaign missions regularly pop on the world map. Though some opportunities disappear seemingly randomly, creating some level of FOMO, they eventually return if missed or failed. Each mission features a refined synopsis worthy of an espionage series that serves up a great mental image, accompanied by light contextual visuals. These scenarios are mostly about ambiance; in truth they only alter which factions will be at play.

Face cards are spy field agents, dormant until enabled by placing their corresponding suit's Ace on the center target. Powered agents trigger their effects when moved to another pile. Each agent has a unique bio and appearance, but all agents from a singular faction deliver the same benefits. Sort and build all suits up to King to complete the mission.

Every match plays nearly identically, except for number of suits in play, and their associated powers and teams. There is a single type of board arrangement throughout the entire game. The spy thriller was a perfect setup to organize stacks variably and instill some gameplay variation — a sorely missed opportunity.

A few other modes unlocked after some time will also show up on the world map. Countdown against the clock is optional in separate non-campaign mode, along with a single daily challenge leaderboard, and a skirmish mode that lets the player create a custom game with any teams of their choice. These become the main points of interest once the campaign is done, but without the supporting narrative and limited options I did not feel compelled to keep playing. Campaign Plus also introduces turn limits for a more challenging experience.

Great little solitaire game with a twist (or several). I loved the cinematic soundtrack, especially as it adds more instruments and speeds up when you're about to complete a stage.

I didn't understand much of the overall plot. I'm assuming it's linked to previous games by Mr. Bithell, which I haven't played (yet), except for his really fine TRON game. Anyway.

I had a good laugh at how cringe the entire FMV acting was. The actors were supposed to be talking with us, but you can see from their eye movement (except for Ratio) that they're reading from a script. I'm also not sure whether they're proper actors or just friends of the creator. Ratio was especially campy after level 7. Ouch.

The sidequests don't make any sense, especially as the British one concludes after the main campaign (and acknowledges it), but the other one concluded even later for me, but the script implies it's set before the end of the game.

Also, probably a bug: the game keeps asking you to replay the same missions after you're done, even missions you just did, but it never offered me to play missions I skipped earlier (or at least, I think I skipped them). Doesn't matter much, I don't know if I'll replay this a lot. I like the idea of power-ups, but overall, I'll be back to Microsoft Solitaire Collection for clean, simple daily gameplay. Now I wish they had a version of that solitaire game in it...

A decently fun solitaire-style puzzle go where you gotta find ways to finish the puzzle with a limited turn count (Unless you turn it off) using the special power of each suit of cards such as shuffling the pile or rearranging them so you can gain access to certain card much faster.

And while the gameplay is fun, the writing is very underwhelming for a bithell game so grabbing this game is entirely for the fun of playing their unique style of solitaire.

Didn't think I'd like it this much, but I 100% it. Bithell games continues to thrive within the indie scene with titles such as Thomas Was Alone and Volume... and you can add this short game to the mix.

I recommend because I stan solitaire and designers trying to do interesting things with the solitaire format. Do I think it's decent? Yeah. is it a fun variant of solitaire? My head says yes but my heart says no. Is the story good? Nah.

Regarding the solitaire, it's a variant of Beleaguered Castle with more lenient packing rules and the face cards have special abilities. If you play Beleaguered Castle you'll understand how those changes make it work out so that each deal will play out. But that's the problem. It's always solvable, it's just a matter of how quickly. The solution in Solitaire Conspiracy is a challenge mode where you have a move count maximum on a set deal. This turns it back into a tough puzzle game like most classic solitaire variants with the benefit that you know the deal must play out.

The variations of the powers and the thematic relation to the story is done well, I just don't care for the plot. Given what it's trying to accomplish it's doing it well. But I don't crave another round of the Solitaire Conspiracy solitaire format like I do with other variants. I think it's because a lot of the card powers induce randomness which runs counter to what you're trying to do when playing solitaire. In these cases they're "powers" but they're more like landmines. This actually makes sense if you pay attention to the plot, but it's an odd design choice because as a player you then avoid them. So some team combinations (especially in "normal" mode) feel like you're just playing a super easy version of Beleaguered Castle with some annoying cards.

Might be hard to see how a classic single-player game can be made exciting, but Bithell Games played their cards right and succeeded several times over. This game might still be Solitaire at its core (i.e. still using the core rules of arranging randomized stacks of cards into orderly suits), but [i]The Solitaire Conspiracy[/i] excels with its cinematic atmosphere.

A stunning combination of intense music (by [url=https://joneverist.bandcamp.com/album/the-solitaire-conspiracy-original-game-soundtrack]Jon Everist[/url] of Shadowrun fame), sleek UI design, and gorgeous character artwork help immerse you into the role of spymaster in a turbulent futuristic world, and that feeling is hammered in during the Campaign mode where a thrilling tale of conspiracy is told mainly through FMV videos.

[i]The Solitaire Conspiracy[/i] even adds its own twist to this classic game by having the cards' suits represent specialized spy crews, each with having a unique effect when playing any of a crew's cards that are ranked Jack or higher. And you'll be putting those effects to good use with 5 varied game modes to explore.

This game also had a few free updates, with special mention for those in 2020 December and 2021 June, as each brought a new spy crew (adding up to a total of [spoiler]10[/spoiler] spy crews and suit effects) and a new story told through even more FMV scenes. With everything laid out, in terms of both price level and amount of entertainment, [i]The Solitaire Conspiracy[/i] is a fine pick to draw out of the deck. What's more, if you have a non-gaming friend who likes spies and solitaire, this could make an excellent surprise gift.

- Not a lot to talk about visually given that it's just a card game with some FMVs separating the rounds. I did like the character portraits and some of the art on the face cards, though
- The soundtrack is pretty generic, and all that I really recalled about it was a predilection for brass instruments
- The FMV performances were interesting since all the actors are content creators, many of whom were at some point associated with Rooster Teeth. I won't say that it broke my immersion (how immersed can you truly be in solitaire?), but it's difficult to put on a serious face while taking mission orders from Greg Miller when all I've watched him do is video review Oreo cookies. I'm also more used to seeing Alanah Pierce try to convince a man from Tennessee that Deadly Premonition is good, not asking me to save her spy mentor

- You're just some dude that Greg Miller kidnaps because you're apparently some god of 1-player card games. In this universe, I guess that translates to being good at orchestrating teams of operatives aiming to waylay the global domination plans of the game's antagonist, Solitaire
- You'll travel the globe to exotic locales to... play a card game on an unthemed background. Could they not at least put a picture from the real world location or something?
- Honestly, the vibes are all over the place. I can't tell whether the game is trying to be serious or not, and I'm not sure the devs knew either. It comes off feeling inconsistent and confused

[b]Playability & Replayability[/b]
- So, it's a game focused on a single card game, but there's lots of flavors of solitaire. Surely they mix it up here with stuff like Klondike, Golf, Yukon, or Pyramid right? Nope. There's only one variety with 8 stacks of face-up cards. You don't even have to worry about alternating suits or colors
- The game does inject a little variety by giving you factions to work with ahead of each mission. The face cards from each faction have special abilities that may be purely beneficial, purely problematic, or a double-edged sword that can be useful if used correctly
- These powers mainly come into play if you're attempting to beat each level in a defined number of moves. Finishing a mission in fewer moves than that limit will net you experience points
- Leveling up doesn't confer any benefit other than unlocking more factions for use in other game modes, which include a survival mode, "countdown" (same as the regular game, but the move limit is actually enforced), and an infinite mode
- Your main task in the campaign is to reach level 15. Given that the reward for playing optimally is additional experience, the de facto upshot of good performance is that you play the game less. No new skills, card art, backgrounds, or side missions. You just get to play less Solitaire Conspiracy
- I beat the campaign, but I'm not so enamored with card games (or, in reality, the single solitaire variation present here) that I had any desire to go back and try the additional game modes. Not much replay value here in my estimation

[b]Overall Impressions & Performance[/b]
- I'm not sure what I was really expecting going into this, but the biggest disappointment is that the game barely evolves as you beat it. Unlocking new factions just didn't offer enough variety
- It ran well, but that's unsurprising. All it has to do is render cards, a map, and some video. No issues on the Steam Deck

I agree with the other reviews that have criticized the story line, FMV, and quality of acting. The story line is standard spy genre motifs, but the connection to the game of Solitaire and playing cards is unclear. The videos were hammy, cheesy, and awkward. I didn't find any of them to be endearing in even a quirky way. However, I enjoyed the gameplay. I thought the various spy teams created variety to the playing style with their unique card powers. Additionally, the game has replay value beyond the story mode. For these reasons, I am willing to give a positive review. I watched all the videos, but I was strongly inclined to skip them (and you wouldn't miss anything if you do).

I was genuinely surprised how much effort they put into this solitaire puzzle game! It looks and sounds gorgeous! Big kudos to the artists. I especially love the way the music on the background becomes more intense as you get closer to clearing the level. The game has a lot of nice well thought details like that.

The game mechanics are easy to grasp, but it's not just mindless solitaire; the suits come with unique powers that you must utilize in order to complete a level. Some of the levels are harder to crack than others. I had good fun.

The only thing I'm left wondering is why there's no undo button. I failed a couple of levels just because I accidentally dragged a card in the wrong stack...

[i]The Solitaire Conspiracy[/i] is another example of a game done right. I loved the entire experience, but I specifically enjoyed:

- The complexity of the factions (suits) and their unique face-card abilities, as well as how they worked with each other
- The sound design/music
- The thoughtfulness put into both extremes of solitaire play (Countdown and Skirmish)
- The fact that the designers understood that I enjoy lots of games, and don't want to spend the rest of my life playing this one. 20 hours to get all the achievements and it was pure fun the entire time
- The fact that the menu ripples when I click on it

If you look at the description and think that this game looks goofy and disjointed, then you are below the truth.
the FMVs are cringe, the cartoony political-fiction story assumes that you're a child, the genderfluid main actor is unpleasant. The videos don't bring anything to the game and you'll quickly want to skip all the long text descriptions before each level.
The interface is ugly with hard to read fonts. IDK what's wrong with the devs because every casual game dev knows that this type of futuristic look doesn't work with the casual audience, and it's particularly ugly here.
The art style on the character portraits looks so generic and out of context that it's slightly into the uncanny valley category.
The music would be great for an action game, but it's very annoying here.
As for the game, well, it's a very tedious variation on solitaire, played with tiny unreadable cards, and the figure cards having annoying properties that you can confortably avoid for most of the play. There's no auto play so you have to drag each card in the suit one by one, even when the game is basically won. Each game is very long and the meta game wants you to reach level 15 for some reason, which looks like a lot of hours of bad game to play.

기본은 솔리테어인데 수트를 팩션으로 나누고 메이저 카드에 팩션마다 다른 특수 기능을 부여해서 느낌이 약간 다릅니다. 왠지 복잡할 것 같지만 우리에게 익숙한 윈도우 기본 솔리테어만큼 덱을 많이 섞지 않기 때문에 한 판 한 판 템포는 빠른 편. 킬링타임의 근본이라 할 수 있는 솔리테어에다가 FMV로 진행되는 스토리를 섞고 에스피오나지 장르를 입혀서 뭔가 그럴 듯하네요.

스토리가 중요한 게임은 아니지만 솔리테어의 요소들을 세계관 소재로 잘 녹였고 배우들 연기가 괜찮은 편이라서 은근히 몰입하며 했습니다. 메이저 카드 일러스트는 각 팩션에서 활약하는 네임드라는 설정인데 배경이 나름 꼼꼼하게 서술되어 있으니 옵션에서 한 번 읽어보시는 걸 추천. 스팀에 있는 많고 많은 솔리테어 변형 게임 중에서 최상위권에 있는 작품이 아닐까 싶습니다. 아직까지는 이거보다 잘 만든 솔리테어 게임을 못 봤어요.

Interesting mix of Solitaire, narrative, and FMV.

You are The Spymaster, you must stop an evil villan by playing a card game using crews that you unlock access to as you level up. Each crew has their own powers, some helpful, some quite unhelpful at times- sometimes downright negative to your strategy.
Strategy is key- you have to plan your moves and use of crew members well, to complete the table in as few moves as possible.

There are 2 modes- one very casual, with no turn limits, and one with turn limits that can be somewhat frustrating if RNG deals you a crappy table layout. You can choose between them at the start of each table, the more difficult one giving higher XP toward leveling up.
There are what I would call "minigames" on some maps- Skirmishes, which let you choose your crews from those you have already unlocked it seems- no XP for these, just practice and 2 achievements tied to the minigame. At the time of this review I have not tried the Countdown minigame- so I can't really say how it works or if it's enjoyable. I may update this review after I try it, I may not.

There are also Recruitment games on some maps, where you play to try to free or recruit a new group. No XP for those either, but it seems to be tied to the campaign narrative that you must complete. Each of these games gives a % toward completion toward recruitment.

The game is visually very nice, if a bit busy with the color schemes at times. As you advance, you will unlock new color schemes to use on your tables.
The music is suitably "urgent", giving a feeling that you are on an important mission that could go very wrong.

The FMV is very well done, as is the voice acting. The dialogue and narrative are a bit beyond cheesy, though. Think "bad hacker/IT/Programmer humor memes" type of jokes and references. But even though a few of the jokes have made me raise an eyebrow at times, some have made me chuckle- and it is a break from tension before you move on to the next level map.

If you are looking for difficult classic solitaire, this isn't it. Go get the Zachtronics Solitaire Collection for that.

If you're looking for something with a story, some silliness, strategy and using you brain needed in varying degrees (based on mode or minigame)- it's good. Not great, but good. Suitable for short sessions, all dialogue is captioned so it is doable for Deaf/HoH gamers, though the captions and dialogue can move quickly with no way to replay it if you missed something, and the text is small with no option to scale it that I could find.

The game runs flawlessly on Windows 10 22H2 Pro/ i9 11900K/ 3080 RTX Ti/ 32 GB DDR4, and it also runs flawlessly on my older desktop on Windows 10 22H2/ i9 9900K/ 2070 RTX Super/ 16 GB DDR4. I have not tried it on Linux with Proton yet, so I can't say how well it plays on any Linux distro. ProtonDB shows it as Gold (with tweaks) and the video playback issues reported 2-3 years ago seem to be fixed, though it is noted that the small text is an issue on Steam Deck.

I did get the game at 50% off, and have no problems with paying that amount. I won't know if it's worth full price until I complete the full game and have it 100%'d, but I suspect I would not have too many issues with paying full price for the game due to its uniqueness amongst Solitaire/Card games.

Much in the same way as you'd end up playing Solitaire on the school PCs when you were bored, The Solitaire Conspiracy is perfect for your downtime, and is best enjoyed over lunchtimes at work or the wee hours of the night.

A simple premise with its aesthetic appeal boosted through the roof with gorgeous art, sound, and UI, TSC provides a novel twist on a classic that somehow paves the way for spy flavour, with some pretty neat acting performances to carry it along.

At times, the random nature of the first draw can work either for you or against you, and it would have been nice to feel these scaled more predictably with difficulty. That being said, you can very much fine tune the difficulty to some degree using the limited turn modes.

Short but sweet, well worth picking up.

Fun little game worth the price. Plays around with Solitaire mechanics by making most special powers more negative than positive, but this only leads to you having to play creatively or carefully. Just because it's usually negatively doesn't mean you can't use them to great positive effect. Need that power of a different suit? Stack the highest card to the top and get that power available. Guys steal the card you need and push it to the bottom? No problem I only have one card in that stack anyways so you just made it easily available to me.

It's also extremely pleasurable to rearrange and stack cards to form perfect piles of a suit ranging from lowest to highest, going back and forth and finding out where you have to place the cards what piles to dig up to get cards placed correctly so you can stack consecutively from high to low, wonderful feeling.

I enjoyed it greatly trying to use the powers as little as possible. The only time I ever reset a mission was once, because I picked the wrong suit to use the power of (because they can be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ identical looking in colour, the symbols alone aren't that easy to glance).

Simply put, a great chill game of solitaire that allows for a lot of different playstyles and variety if you want it to.

Story-wise I have no idea what tone they are going for, is it supposed to be cheesy B-movie, or is it trying to be taken seriously? I literally can't tell because it's delivering both at the same time but it's also failing at both. But who cares, everything can be skipped anyways.

Solitaire with powers.

Unlike the most well-known version of Solitaire, all the cards are face-up at the start. The goal is still to order every suit from A-K in the targets, using the eight stacks on the sides to stage and rearrange cards. Instead of the traditional card suits, these suits are themed as spy crews with their own color & icon. Each suit has a unique power that will activate when you move a face card onto a stack. These powers might help, might hinder, or might be all in how you use them (for example, a power the sorts all the cards with the highest on top seems disadvantageous, but it could give you access to a powerful face card currently buried in that stack).

As you play through the campaign, you unlock additional crews. Individual missions provide specific combinations of crews, and so you need to learn to effectively use (or effectively avoid) the powers provided.

The campaign missions can be played in a casual mode or in a higher-stakes mode. In the casual mode, you can take as many turns as you need, or restart the round with a new shuffle. In the higher-stakes version, the card layout is curated & you must win within a certain number of turns.

Eventually, you unlock a few specialty modes: a quickplay mode where you can use 1-4 crews of your choosing, a daily seed where you try to finish in as few moves as possible, and a speed mode where you play wave after wave until time runs out, gaining seconds on the timer for each card finalized.

Two of the crews were apparently added as an update after the game was originally released, but the missions to unlock them are parceled out in a way that you basically have to finish the entire campaign before they will be available to you. These quest chains add a few new characters in cutscenes, which made the lack of such treatment for the game's original crews very apparent.

The lore cutscenes are skippable if you prefer to focus on the gameplay. Some of the cutscenes strongly imply that you have important decisions to make, but the story is linear and you do not make any choices. The active story isn't really anything to write home about, but it provides some flavor to differentiate it from any number of faceless card games out there.

I finished the campaign in two dedicated-but-comfortable sittings, and the game didn't wear out its welcome.

After completing the campaign, a few of the late-game missions became replayable from the map, but otherwise you cannot choose to replay specific campaign missions over again unless you completely reset your progress.

I would have liked the option to select and replay any already-beaten mission at any time, especially to attempt the "Plus" hard-mode version if I didn't do it the first time around (if not with achievements, then at least with in-game tracking). There is a sort of puzzle quality to playing a curated table with specific crews and a turn limit, and it feels like a bit of a disservice to say that if you don't choose that mode the first time around, you have to wipe your progress and replay the campaign to access it again.

I also would've liked a single-button quickplay with four random crews. Admittedly, it doesn't take a lot of time and effort to manually navigate to Skirmish mode and press the "Shuffle" button a few times (depending on whether it offers me three crews or four) and then click to confirm, but random play seems to be where any replay value would come from after the campaign, and it would be nice to streamline it. A numbered seed mode would also be cool, but the number of possible card layouts multiplied by the number of permutations of the various crews would make the seeds very long and difficult to input.

The visual & sound design are great. The music is engaging and tense without being distracting, and neon gives a slick look. You can unlock over 20 color palettes to customize the game, and it even remembers your choice at the title screen when you launch the game for your next session.

I'm really enjoying this game so far. The game took me a few matches for strategizing to click. Once I realized how to visualize gameplay in the same way I would in the board game Rummikub all bets were off. You'll enjoy Solitaire Conspiracy if you like playing games that require thinking tactically 5 moves ahead to manipulate cards so you can clear the board effectively. This is especially true if you play with the optional limited moves setting which grants extra experience points to progress the story.

It's immensely fun to watch the story unravel in this mystery, puzzle game where your loadout of abilities change with the "crews" (the suits cards have; diamonds, hearts, etc) that are run with each scenario.

This solitaire game is really neat I love the cyberpunk/spy theme to it.. One of the best looking that you can get on Steam and plays great. One thing is the powered up cards are WEIRD AND CONFUSING. I completely ignore them even if it shuffles my cards around lol.

Please make a sequel!

Just ok. Variant of classic solitaire. Lots of wiggle room, hard to lose a round. I appreciate the slick interface, but the underlying card game is just not very exciting. I also quickly grew bored with the secret agent lore dumps + FMV briefings. Fortunately, they can be skipped over.

A professionally executed game, but not a great one.

As for solitaire, the variant included in Zachtronics' Last Call BBS is immeasurably better.

Très bon jeu de solitaire, interface vraiment agréable le jeu est très jolie, une BO de qualitative, très agréable à écouté en jeu.
Il y a un soucis du détail très appréciable même si l'écriture n'est pas la meilleur qui soit, ont sens la motivation des dev pour ce jeu, tout ceci constitue à en faire un jeu très agréable dans sont enssemble, les dialogue peuvent être passer, mais personnellement je les écoutes, car j'aime bien le mal qu'il ce sont donner à vouloir faire quelque chose de cohérent, je recommande grandement ce jeu si vous aimez les jeu de solitaire.

Must have if you like Solitaire. This is a very entertaining game. I enjoyed my time playing through the story campaign. The story was interesting and the actors were dope (the person who played the character Solitaire was hilarious.) Being able to change the background colours was nice touch too. 10/10, thank you devs for a great time! :)
