The Plucky Squire follows the magical adventures of Jot and his friends - storybook characters who discover a three-dimensional world outside the pages of their book. When the malevolent Humgrump realizes he's the villain of the book - destined to lose his battle against the forces of good for all eternity - he kicks the heroic Jot out of its pages and changes the story forever. Jot must face challenges, unlike anything he's ever seen if he is to save his friends from Humgrump's dark forces and restore the book's happy ending.

Com certeza está na minha lista de melhores games que joguei em 2026 com uma animação muito boa com transições em 3D e uma narrativa que lhe prende ate o fim e uma ambientação que lhe deixa abismado de quão incrivel o game é, jogabilidade muito interessante e não repetitivo, que por sinal, os minigames é muito legal de fazer com referencias de outros jogos. Pra finalizar com chave de ouro o que se falar da música do game, simplesmente íncrivel, totalmente ritmado com o momento que o guerreiro pontinho de encontra, que jogo!!!!

總的來說，是有趣的遊戲，可以趁特價購買，我也是趁特價的時候購入覺得cp值算高
最喜歡的部分是切換到3D的時候，每次的場景都有不一樣但有趣的主題，非常有童話感
不過玩的時候有些地方卡BUG，比如有的道具我放地上之後就不見了，然後變成我需要從頭過該關卡
然後我非常不喜歡鼓鼓的Part，還好可以跳過，不然我應該會棄遊
如果沒有bug跟鼓鼓，我會給五星，但因為有這兩個部分，可是鼓鼓的小遊戲又能跳過，所以決定給四星

挺不错的益智小游戏，有着3D和2D的解谜，挺有意思还不算难，乔特和鼓鼓的肌肉姿态也很有反差感。不过玩的过程中坏了一次档，在打第九章拿回剑之后，直接原路返回，卡着极限跳了回去，导致没拿手套，最后没拿全能力，无法推进剧情，回去的传送门也关了，只能重新读档了。

If you're looking for a fun but casual adventure title, this one will do it. Plucky Squire's visual style and charm are top notch and it has a fun variety of mechanics. It's a very pleasant experience over all.

The only downside is that it lacks challenge, so if you want something that's really going to push you with difficulty or complexity, this isn't it. However, this is the EXACT sort of game I'd give to a kid as a good, simple adventure title that they can pick up, get absorbed in and enjoy.

There's a lot to like about this game, the graphics and animations are top notch. The gameplay is good but uneven. What really took me away from really enjoying this game is that there is significant input lag. I played on the Steam deck so you experience may vary. Also, I struggled with the the story more than I expected. The gameplay is more advanced, and I get the theme is a kids book, but the writing felt very predictable and dull to me - I just wanted to skip it. Some of the mini-games were decent, others I skipped. All seemed to have at least some degree of input lag.

Here's a quick review of my thoughts after beating "The Plucky Squire" on the PC.

+ Graphics are phenomenal. The art style for inside the book really gives off that childhood storybook vibe, and the same goes for outside the book which gives a strong “Toy Story” feel for the environments and characters.
+ Outside-the-book gameplay is impressive. It is the best part of this game, in my opinion. Being on a child’s desk with so many toys, arts and crafts, and regular household items is super unique. Popping in and out of paper drawings on walls during traversal is so much fun. I wish that there was a 3D platformer whose main gimmick was this.
+- Inside book gameplay is more reserved. It feels very lowbrow to me and I hate the constant going in and out of the same locations of the book to solve puzzles. Cool for the first three times. Lame the last 20…
+- Ugh, the music. I can’t even remember the main theme. This should almost be a negative point considering how uninspired the music felt.
+- Story is bottom of the barrel, indie-slop. Just there to justify the gameplay, as always.
- Expanding on this, the characters are as flat as their 2D models are in the book. No emotional weight or anything you’d hope to potentially see.
- As for the dialogue, I started skipping it after the second hour. They just yap. That’s it. No actual content in anything they say.
+- Combat is passable. Only thing really cool was the sword throwing. As with everything else, the combat doesn’t really matter as it only exists to serve the main gimmick of the game.
+- Puzzles are fine-ish. I liked the word puzzles. I wish there were more than about 5 of them. Any of the puzzles involving going in and out of the book and manipulating it is very tedious and slow.
+- Minigames: Some were fun, some were sucky.
+- Bosses: Some were fun, some were sucky.
- There are some secrets in the game. You can find 10 “Glitchbirds” and 50 developer art pieces. However, because of the linearity of this game, you can easily miss something and won’t be able to go back. As the majority of the gameplay of this game was unfulfilling, I obviously chose to not stress out searching for secrets.
- Why are there performance issues? Every single time you exit the book or go to another page, you are faced with slowdown and stuttering. I was able to get an average of 120-200fps average on this game with my 9070XT at 4K Ultra so it certainly wasn’t on my side. This game is almost 2 years old and they still haven’t ironed this out. Oh, they’ll add a challenge mode alright, but they sure won’t fix the performance!

Overall quality of experience: 7.2/10. I’m Mixed about this game. The only thing that provided any real content and was actually fun to do in this game was exiting the book and exploring the desk: The main gimmick of this game. And the developers thought because that was the main selling point, any gameplay outside of that can be as lackluster and unrewarding as possible. I’ll give them this though, the last chapter of the game was really fun (mainly because you were outside the book for a good chunk of it). However, if 90% of your game is me wandering around with flat characters, with a boring story, featuring monotonous puzzles and combat, you aren’t gonna get a high rating out of me. I’m so happy I only paid like $4 for an activation key of this game off of Loaded. Overall, don’t play this game. The main gimmick is really fun, but the rest of the game is really, really dumb.

I really loved this one. It's a bit of a love letter to classic gaming while having plenty of modern features. I think it's worth buying/playing through.

Two issues, frequent audio desyncs on windows, not on steam deck. The final boss has a MASSIVE difficulty spike which was annoying but able to be circumvented.

Worth noting, runs great on steam deck and feels like a perfect game for the platform.

The Plucky Squire is a very fun and charming game that honestly surprised me more than I expected. I saw a few trailers here and there before release, but it never really grabbed my attention fully. It just looked like one of those “yeah, seems cute” kind of games.

Then I picked it up on sale… and yeah, I’m really glad I did.

This game mixes 2D and 3D gameplay in a way that you don’t really see often, and it actually commits to that idea throughout the entire experience. It’s light, creative, funny, and overall just a really chill game to play.

I went for 100% completion, and it took me around 13–14 hours to finish everything. It’s definitely a short game, which isn’t a bad thing, but I do think it’s one of those titles you should grab on sale rather than full price.

[h1]What It Is[/h1]
The Plucky Squire is an action-adventure game where you play as Jot, a heroic character living inside a storybook. Everything seems normal until the villain, Humgrump, realizes he’s part of a story… and decides he doesn’t like being the bad guy who loses every time.

So naturally, he kicks you out of the book. Yeah. Problem solved, right?

From there, you discover a fully realized 3D world outside the pages, and the game constantly switches between 2D storybook gameplay and 3D exploration on a desk filled with objects, drawings, and interactive environments. Your goal is to jump between these worlds, solve puzzles, and basically fix the story before the villain rewrites it completely.

[h1]World and Exploration[/h1]
This is easily one of the strongest parts of the game.

The 2D world feels like you’re literally playing inside a living children’s book. Pages flip between areas, environments feel handcrafted, and everything has this really warm, charming personality to it.

Then you jump into the 3D world, and suddenly you’re running around a desk, interacting with mugs, drawings, books, and random objects that somehow turn into entire playable levels. At one point you’re inside the book, next thing you know you’re jumping into artwork on a coffee mug like it’s totally normal.

And somehow… it works.

Exploration feels fun and creative, even if it’s not super deep. It’s more about discovering clever interactions rather than getting lost in a massive world.

[h1]Gameplay and Mechanics[/h1]
The gameplay is where The Plucky Squire really shines in terms of creativity.

You’re constantly switching between mechanics:

The game keeps introducing new ideas pretty frequently, which keeps things fresh. One moment you’re rearranging words in a sentence to solve a puzzle, the next you’re fighting enemies, and then suddenly you’re in a completely different gameplay style.

That said, there is a downside here.

Some mechanics don’t really get enough time to fully develop before the game moves on to the next idea. It’s like the game is constantly saying:
“Hey look at this cool mechanic!”
“Nice? Cool. Anyway, never mind, here’s a new one.”

It keeps things fresh, but also makes some parts feel a bit shallow.

[h1]Puzzles[/h1]
The puzzles are a big part of the experience.

Most of them are clever at first, especially the ones involving text manipulation and switching between 2D and 3D perspectives. There are definitely moments where you go:
“Okay, that’s actually pretty smart.”

But… later on, they do start to feel repetitive.

A lot of puzzles boil down to moving objects from point A to point B or figuring out slightly tweaked versions of mechanics you’ve already seen. Some sections can also be a bit unclear, especially in the 2D world where it’s not always obvious where you can interact or move.

I did have to look up a guide a couple of times because of that, which kinda breaks the flow.

[h1]Combat[/h1]
Combat is simple. Very simple.

You’ve got basic attacks, dodging, and some abilities you unlock over time. It works fine, and it fits the tone of the game, but don’t expect anything deep or challenging here.

On normal difficulty, it’s pretty easy and can feel repetitive.

On the hardest difficulty, though, things do get more interesting. Enemies hit harder, and you actually have to pay attention instead of just mashing buttons like you’re late for dinner.

Still, combat is not the main focus of this game, and it shows.

[h1]Tone, Style and Presentation[/h1]
This is where the game absolutely nails it.

The art style is beautiful and super unique. The transition between 2D and 3D is seamless and feels magical the first few times you do it.

The tone is light, funny, and very self-aware. The game doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that works perfectly for what it is. It genuinely feels like you’re playing through a playful, interactive storybook.

It’s the kind of game you play to relax, not to sweat.

[h1]Difficulty and Design Notes[/h1]
One interesting thing I noticed is that difficulty doesn’t just affect combat.

It sometimes feels like certain puzzle layouts or gameplay elements slightly change depending on difficulty, which is unusual. It’s not 100% confirmed everywhere, but it definitely felt like my experience didn’t always match what I saw in other gameplay videos.

If that’s intentional, it’s actually pretty cool.

If not… well, then I guess I accidentally unlocked “mystery mode.”

The game has around 24 achievements, and going for 100% is pretty enjoyable.

There are some collectibles and a few missables, so you do need to pay attention. Luckily, nothing feels too grindy, and the short length of the game makes completion feel very manageable.

It’s one of those games where going for all achievements actually adds to the experience instead of dragging it out.

Just maybe grab it on sale… unless you really, really like jumping into books and fighting villains who got tired of losing.

9/10 ОЧЕНЬ крутая игра! Да, сюжет детский, но называть это недостатком странно, так как вам никто не обещал другого! И да, к сожалению, в игре осталось небольшое количество багов - ничего прям серьёзного, но их количество и наличие огорчают. Если бы не баги, то оценил бы игру в 10/10. По визуалу, музыке, стилю, геймплею - нареканий нет вообще, всё на высшем уровне! Ну и если боитесь что будет слишком легко, то сразу выставляйте сложность выше средней и на боссах будете потеть и умирать) По сложности детской её не назвать) Очень рекомендую!

мне понравилась игрушка! прикольная озвучка в стиле лосяша, красочные сцены, простенькие головоломки и вполне уместное звуковое сопровождение. правда, битва с финальным боссом меня сильно раздражала, ну ладно. иногда были непонятные просадки по фпс, но в основном все шло плавно. спасибо за возможность получше освоить контроллер. самый лучший персонаж здесь - это писк.

I’m absolutely LOVING this game sooooo much!!! I’ve just started and can already tell
It’s going to be one of my favorites of this year, the art style is just something so special and all the customizations around play style makes it so fun and such a unique experience.

Update: just finished this game and just an absolutely GEM of a game I had a blast from start to finish and smiled the entire time. This game was something straight from my childhood fantasies and I’m so so happy I got experience it. I will eagerly await the creators next game!

Советаю брать только по скидке потому что за полную цену это дороговато, а так в целом это хорошая, стильная и необычная игра с интересным и разнообразным геймплеем, визуал и музыка хороши а вот сюжет слишком уж "для детей" хоть это и было задуманно изначально, (вся игра это и есть детская книжка и мы как бы спасаем будущее ребенка который любит эту книжку) все равно сюжет и само повествование черезчур простецкое. В общем если вам нужна игрушка на 10-12 часов чтобы просто почиллить и отдохнуть или просто хочется чего-то доброго и простого то можете брать но только по скидке (за фулл прайс оно того не стоит)

P.S Но если у вас есть маленькие дети и вы хотите поиграть с ними во что-то то это 10 из 10 для вас

처음 출시 때부터 기대하던 게임인데 학생이 사기엔 조금 가격대가 있어서 찜목록에만 넣어두고 존버하고 있었어요..마침 세일 하길래 후다닥 사서 바로 플레이 했는데 기대 이상의 퀄리티와 2D와 3D를 넘나드는 색다른 플레이 스타일로 게임 하는 내내 즐겁다라고 느꼈어요..인생게임!!!

游戏有几个吸引的点，绘本画风，2D3D世界转换，场景设计精良（特别是纸张质感做的太棒了），各种风格各异的小游戏，然后……玩起来很无聊。画面精美，但是不好玩，是这个游戏最大的缺点。
一周目直接上的挑战难度，确实有点难，（第一关拳击是最难的地方）但是难度不影响我对游戏无聊的评价。游戏的各种点子都是特别有意思，但不知道为什么玩起来这么无聊。

[b]集百家之长，但没学到精髓[/b]。
举个例子，砍草丛爆金币这一点，在塞尔达里可做可不做，因为不缺卢比，而且有时候运气好爆了个50卢比还有点小开心。
但是小骑士里，钱有点缺，因为收集物品是章节限定的，所以遇到草丛都必须上去砍一下草，不然到时候金币不够就尴尬了。
一样的设计，其他游戏可做可不做，做了有奖励;到了这里变成不做有惩罚，性质完全不同。

另外游戏全收集有点麻烦，虽然可以选章节，但每章节较长，所以重进关卡收集的时间成本有点大。而且我玩到中期就一直想着赶紧结束吧，所以基本是盯着收集指南打通的游戏。总体来说确实是很子供向的游戏，美术不错，游戏无趣。
幸好精美包装里装是代可可脂而不是史，游戏只是无聊，并没糟糕到不能玩的地步，

这次轮到我们当故事书里的主角。

作为一款子供向的作品，很好满足了我幼时对童话书的想象。画面色彩鲜艳，活泼开朗，建模精致，完美还原书桌场景，旁白成熟稳重，真有一种长辈讲故事的感觉，即便剧情老套，在多种游戏机制和游戏形式的加持下，还能是一段丰富有趣的旅程。我最喜欢那段邪恶巫师夺取叙事主权的反差，哈哈有点成人童话那味了。

不知是我见过相似机制，还是别的游戏玩的太多，《勇敢小骑士》给我一种“平淡感”。2d变3d像是井水不犯河水，各自安好，没有深入的联动，纯走个过场。填词类解密对我来说是重复的搬运。战斗小怪只分远程吐豆和近战碰撞，没啥交互感。关底的boss战也是小游戏合集，没有大的战斗拓展或机制联动。总体不无聊，但也没有小高潮。

游戏里解密部分有小小须月提示，还有场景视觉提示，3d部分有指示牌指引正路，引导还是不错的。不过途中在弹簧上极短的判定时长中按跳跃能跳的更高，这个没教是何意味呢？蜜獾战斗技巧靠自己悟和突然变脸的箭头又是怎么个事？

一颗来自童年褪色褪味的糖。（一周目参考时长6-10h）

O jogo é simplesmente muuuuuuito divertido e criativo. A forma como ele mistura o mundo do livro em 2D com momentos em 3D é muito legal e faz tudo parecer uma grande aventura de conto infantil ganhando vida. Sem contar das referências que o jogo trás também, fiquei muito encantada jogando

A arte é linda, a trilha é gostosa de ouvir e o jogo sempre traz alguma mecânica nova, então nunca fica repetitivo

En mi opinión personal, el juego me encanta. El hecho de recolectar esos pergaminos y al momento de abrirlos puedes ver la ilustración de como iban a ser los personajes del juego antes del diseño final, también el como iban a ser los mapas, eso me encanta. Jota saliendo y entrando del libro también me gusta muchísimo, el 2D y el 3D es algo hermoso. Por el momento lo estoy disfrutando bastante.

Es una obra de arte infravalorada.

The Plucky Squire es uno de esos juegos que recuerdan por qué los videojuegos pueden ser tan mágicos. Desarrollado por All Possible Futures, este título combina creatividad, humor y una dirección artística encantadora para ofrecer una experiencia que se siente fresca y original de principio a fin.

La historia sigue a Jot, un valiente personaje que vive dentro de un libro de cuentos. Cuando el villano descubre que está destinado a perder siempre, decide expulsar a Jot fuera del libro para cambiar su destino. A partir de ese momento, el juego sorprende constantemente al jugador al alternar entre un mundo 2D dentro de las páginas del libro y entornos 3D en el escritorio que lo rodea. Este cambio de perspectiva no solo es visualmente impresionante, sino que también se integra de forma ingeniosa en los puzzles y la exploración.

Uno de los mayores logros de The Plucky Squire es su estilo artístico. Todo parece sacado de un libro infantil ilustrado, con colores vibrantes, personajes carismáticos y animaciones llenas de vida. La banda sonora y el tono narrativo complementan perfectamente esa sensación de aventura de cuento.

Joguinho criativo, uma das propostas mais originais que pude experienciar.
Sem dúvidas uma obra de arte dos gráficos até a gameplay, as transições de cenário são memoráveis e os puzzles bem únicos.

Precificar um jogo de paixão e carinho é difícil mas em nossa pátria amada Brasil, ele não vale o preço cheio. Entretanto por 30 conto? Po ta ótimo, é um ingresso pra um cinema e o filme fica contigo pra rever depois.

Se o jogo tem um defeito, é que ele estiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiica alguns minigames e boss fights desnecessariamente, incluindo em suas conquistas. Ta longe de ser uma platina divertida por isso, mas não é nada impossível.

Recomendo não só o jogo mas principalmente ficar de olho no estúdio, se isso aqui foi algo único mal posso esperar pra próxima criação dels!

前六章总结：有趣但做的浅，要我原价买有些贵，但打折入值。
（发这个评论时玩到第六章后期，看成就游戏应该共十章）画面好，关卡的小游戏类型有点多（褒义），2d、3d间的转换互动做的挺好，关卡流畅，有点任天堂的味道，有趣，不过没任天藏的味，没藏什么东西，所见即所得。建议不要仔细找，这游戏有卡住的风险，我一次差点卡住，一次真卡住了，男伙伴跟着我，把我卡牌子那了，不得不退出重打，不过我选的冒险模式，我手残党也能轻松玩，战斗简单，所以损失不大。同时，因为感觉这游戏虽然有趣，但做的挺浅的，原价108有些贵，我打折后35.64元入的，20多元是玩回来了，我觉得买的值。
剧情目前为止正常的童话改编，两伙伴大部分时间没用，就是旁边看着，第六章男伙伴的剧情章节，有关卡要用他打个怪，没了，没有共同冒险的感觉，男主”独角戏“。
电脑方面，我好像从第五章开始画面一直有点卡，风扇开始一直嗡嗡响，不懂电脑，只能说下笔记本型号戴尔G15 5511.
玩的开心来发个评论推荐一下，希望后面别烂尾。

Милое и доброе приключение на несколько вечеров, которое подойдёт и детям, и взрослым из-за юмора и необычных механик. Игровой процесс часто меняется: главный герой будет путешествовать по плоским страницам, выходить в реальный трёхмерный мир и прыгать по платформам, решать головоломки и участвовать в разнообразных мини-играх. За девять часов я получил предостаточно впечатлений и теперь жду продолжение! Вероятно, оно будет не про Отважного пажа, а про кое-кого другого...

Masterpiece, if you like adventure and puzzles it's a must buy, if you have children, it's a must buy, if you are open-minded and just like games that are good it's a must buy. You can probably skip this if you regularly play fortnight.

The look of this game is really amazing. I love the premise of the game and the art direction. It just feels like it plays too clunky for what it wants to be. Also, the mini-games had so much potential, but again the clunky controls just make it them less fun to play than they should be.

идея хорошая, реализация через жопу.. играть скучно, держала только история и как она повествуется и неожиданно наличие русской озвучки. в остальном игруха сплошное разочарование.. 80 процентов игры это 2D, а я надеялся, ну хотя бы 50/50.. и 3D сделано через анус.. то FPS почему-то не хватает, то качество окружение в 160р несмотря на высокие настройки графики.. и битва с финальным боссом.. короче не советую этот кал покупать. грустно на самом деле, игруха то выглядит прикольно и история хоть и банальна, но интерес имелся, но технически разрабы жестко обосрались

Really wanted to like the game, but where the trailers promise interesting and fun gameplay, the real game falls flat. Nothing is fleshed out and the story is a boring shell. Without the charming look nobody would have cared about the game.

先说优点，画面很精美，玩法也是比较有创意，填词改变环境很新颖，到了艺术小镇都能看到成吨的致敬，其他地方像点赞的鱼，平面弹幕射击致敬，合金弹头列车boss致敬，音游节奏互动，都非常有意思。

但是缺点！！！战斗就是一坨，尤其配上这个无法更改的难度，开局因为画风比较清爽可爱很天真选了挑战难度，后面玩起来非常痛苦，全程主角3滴血，小怪平a的话大概4刀到7 8刀，但是砍出去的后摇超过小怪硬直！！！导致动作没打完小怪就糊你一脸！！！，这时候再来个远程的炸弹，轻而易举丢掉2滴血，虽然中途打怪有回血掉落，但是后期堆怪加上弹幕骚扰，玩得我非常烦躁，尤其是那个列车boss。

还有就是游戏有很多大大小小的bug，开始的跳平台我跳到第二个平台之后起跳就像加速了一样飞过去了，这里已经初见端倪

后面打蚊子小游戏因为手柄移动太慢换的鼠标，发现鼠标有时候点击完射箭射不出去！不知道是不是因为射箭的动画还没结束而我提前点击导致游戏没有识别到我的操作，极其的难受

还有在3d的世界在转换处无法交互导致卡关，不得己退到主界面重进浪费掉前面几分钟未保存的进度

现在刚到第七章，看成就进度应该是有10章了，目前的游戏体验已经无法让我想去收集画廊的碎片和意外小鸟了，只想速速通关，结束这个糟糕的游戏体验

Der kühne Knappe überzeugt vor allem durch sein einzigartiges Spieldesign. Besonders der kreative Mix aus 2D- und 3D-Abschnitten sorgt für viel Abwechslung und überraschende Momente. Auch die Rätsel bieten immer wieder neue, ungewöhnliche Lösungsansätze, die man so selten in anderen Spielen sieht. Dazu kommt eine sehr schöne, farbenfrohe Grafik.

Weniger stark ist die Story, die mir persönlich nur mittelmäßig gefallen hat. Außerdem zieht sich das Spiel gegen Ende etwas und einige Abläufe wiederholen sich.

Fazit: Kreatives Adventure mit tollen Ideen und starker Präsentation, das gegen Ende etwas an Tempo verliert.
