The story and game itself good, the performance optimization was bad though, had some stutters, not too terrible though.

The game, though, doesn't justify price on this game. It's almost in the same price range as RDR2, yet it has wayyyyy less content, and is just a walking simulator in the end.

Not a bad game though, get it on discount.

For what it is, mostly an okish-looking walking simulator with very light and simple puzzles, it's far too performance-heavy.
It doesn't look bad, but it often drops massively whenever the second world is shown.

This game is extremely empty, and since its gameplay is regularly so minimal, you typically just walk…… wasting time.
I don't mind this kind of game normally; I have played some games like it, but such an empty-feeling walking simulator shouldn't feel this extremely stretched for time. It gets even worse if you play as the second playable character, Thomas, as his parts really should have been entirely skippable. It's just nothing going on remotely challenging or interesting for such long stretches of time, that the pinnacle of gameplay is holding the block button to deflect tentacles as the primary game loop. … wasting time.

The story isn't good enough, since it's kind of badly told and ill-hearted, to justify spending any time in this. It repeats itself again and again just so even the dumbest possible person understood its very simple story … wasting time.

This game doesn't give you a good story, no gameplay to speak of … I don't want to be mean, but you need to give me something. Being sometimes somewhat pretty and interesting to look at doesn't justify 8 hours of my life for me. Even at Sale, it's not worth your money; there are far more enjoyable ways to end up wasting time.

Jako jednohubka ve slevě je to pohodová pěkná hra.
Jsou tam nápady, zajímavá perspektiva, pěkné hnusné prostředí...avšak celé napětí a atmosféra, alespoň u mě, odfičela pryč během první hodiny max dvou (a to hry hraju pomalu a hrál jsem to 9 hodin)...pak jsem jen čekal kdy už to budu mít dohrané a byla to spíš nuda.

About 10 hours of play, probably less as I had some AFK added in. Beautiful graphics, nice music and fairly decent voice acting. The plot can be a bit confusing. A glossary would probably help here. I got a bit lost with some of the NPC storylines. The ending of course is what most people have issue with and I agree.

I got the game as part of a bundle but as it was already on my wish list it worked out. I enjoyed most of the game, the puzzles are fairly easy and the atmosphere is nicely eerie. The biggest complaint is the running away from the monster sections which can be a bit frustrating but at least there are not that many.

Terminado. E cara, que experiência fantástica, mas vamos falar o que temos por aqui.
Vou começar essa review já sendo sincero: eu não jogo jogos de terror.
Eu sou medroso e não consigo, fico muito assustado — podem rir se quiserem. Porém, resolvi dar uma chance para The Medium e foi fascinante, pois apesar da atmosfera e a ambientação assustadoras, The Medium não é um jogo que precisa apelar para Jumpscares e impotência do jogador para construir o medo, ele é trabalhado na sugestão, no psicológico. De forma que você não tem medo do que está vendo, mas do que não vê e do que está por vir.

Achei a história algo ótimo. É muito escrita, com um enredo bem interessante e MUITO INTRIGANTE, que consegue te prender até o final sem dificuldade alguma nisso. Todo o mistério envolvendo o passado de Marianne e seus poderes, o hotel, os monstros que você encontra. Tudo é perfeitamente ligado e de forma clara sem precisar ser explicativo ou exposto. O jogo confia na capacidade do jogador de ligar os pontos e faz isso com maestria. Os poucos erros que tiveram narrativa — muito poucos, vale grifar — ocorreram justamente quando o jogo quis subestimar a gente e explicar um pouco a mais o que estava acontecendo, mas nunca prejudica ou fere a experiência.
A história desse jogo é tranquilamente um dos pontos mais altos e fortes dele. Um acerto com A maiúsculo. Talvez, a única coisa que impediu essa história de ser ainda melhor foi a falta de ousadia de se permitir ser maior e se desenrolar ainda mais. Ainda havia conteúdo, não no quesito de pontas soltas — o jogo se encerra bem amarrado — mas no quesito de se expandir o que já se tinha. Mas essa limitação provavelmente se deve de fatores externos (orçamento, técnico e etc) o que é compreensível.

Os gráficos do jogo são ótimos. A direção de arte do jogo doma a atmosfera com uma maestria desigual. Os corredores sujos de sangue e quebrados, as florestas escuras e enevoadas, as ruínas. Todo o cenário onde você passa conta uma história e deixa uma marca. É algo que surpreende, assusta e fascina, tudo ao mesmo tempo.
O mesmo vale para os efeitos sonoros e trilha, que sabem trabalhar de forma perfeita a tensão e o mistério, deixando você o tempo inteiro na ponta da cadeira esperando um perigo iminente que quase nunca vem, mas sempre te avisa que virá. E isso constrói um apartamento no seu psicológico, mantendo você dominado pelo ambiente e pelos sentidos.
Isso vale não apenas para o mundo físico, mas também para o mundo espiritual. O sangue, os gritos, as máscaras, a simbologia. E quando você acha que o jogo já te mostrou tudo ele expande isso ainda mais, mostrando como o interior de cada um pode ser diferente — literalmente.

The Medium é um jogo incrível, que sabe recompensar o jogador com uma trilha de mistérios e pistas soltas que te alimentam aos poucos para te deixar ansioso por mais. Cada puzzle resolvido, cada pedaço da história descoberto. Tudo é bem arquitetado para te manter sem piscar do começo ao fim do jogo.
E que fim de jogo.

Vale totalmente a compra e vale totalmente ser jogado.
Para amantes de terror mais classudo, como Obscure, esse jogo é um prato cheíssimo. Para quem é fraco para jogos de terror, mas quer tentar, pode ir sem medo. Não é um jogo que precisa apelar para sustinhos.

Честно говоря нечего от игры не ждал, решил пройти в первые так как много про неё слышал, и вот скачал сел с утра думал по играю часик и всё, в итоге прошел на одном дыханий, игра очень понравилась, Атмосфер, сюжет, музыка, всё сделано на высшем уровне, да Геймплей на любителя, не каждому понравится решать простенькие задачки, и играть в прятки с не убиваемым чмонстром, да и на пугать игра может только, неискушенного геймера. а так игра хорошая, сюжет, атмосфера, и музыка не оставит вас равнодушным. Чувствуется что разработчики вдохновлялись Тихими холмами.

Very interesting game with a great story to keep you engaged. While the idea of of a twisted version of the world is reminiscent of Silent Hill, I like the idea of the player having to interact with both worlds at the same time, having your physical body limiting your movement of your spirit or vice versa, making you pay attention to both cameras at the same time. Bloober have certainly established themselves with the years as a household name in the horror space.

5/5 amazing game. Would recommend without a shadow of a doubt.

The core of the game is story telling, as such the horror is pretty relaxed and the puzzles are straightforward, a lot of the game is just walking, but it never just feels like walking.
The art is breathtakingly amazing. Between the scenes, the camera angles, the lighting, its so stunning. There were so many times during the game I wanted to just stop and take pictures and enjoy everything. I'd play the game for the art alone.
That being said, no spoilers but the story was beautiful and gut-wrenching and ugh! so good! All the characters were great (Except for you know who), and it was just great! [Also W Lewis Carroll reference!]

Im so glad I found this game, it was such an amazing experience and I will be watching out for any future games!

Una bella storia narrativa , un`horror / thriller con un gameplay semplice ma godibile , i rompicapi non sono difficili ma piacevoli , con una bella direzione artistica. L`unica pecca e l`ottimizzazione , in quanto sul mio PC son riuscito a giocarlo solo in DX11 cappato a 60 Fps , in quanto su DX12 dava problemi con il ray tracing , e in entrambi i DX avevo stuttering quando tenevo gli FPS illimitati , non credo sia la mia configurazione in quanto ho giocato a titoli ben piu recenti senza problemi. In ogni caso se vi piace il genere lo consiglio

The Medium é daqueles jogos que te pegam pelo colarinho desde a primeira cena e não te soltam até os créditos finais.

A mecânica de duas realidades paralelas é simplesmente genial. Ver o mundo dos vivos e o mundo espiritual ao mesmo tempo na tela não é só um efeito visual bonito — ela é parte essencial da jogabilidade e da narrativa, e funciona de forma incrivelmente fluida. É algo que nunca tinha visto antes e que realmente justifica o jogo existir como ele é.

A história então... prepare-se. É recheada de plot twists que você genuinamente não vê chegando, e o melhor: fazem total sentido quando revelados. As subtramas são muito bem construídas, cada personagem tem peso e propósito na narrativa, nada parece jogado ali à toa. É o tipo de roteiro que fica na sua cabeça depois que você termina.

Sim, o jogo é curto. Mas curto não significa vazio — significa denso, bem aproveitado e sem gordura. Cada minuto conta. É uma experiência enxuta e poderosa, muito melhor do que muitos jogos longos que desperdiçam horas do seu tempo.

Super recomendo para quem curte horror psicológico, narrativa forte e quer algo diferente do que está acostumado. The Medium é uma experiência que vale cada centavo. 🎮

Então, é um bom jogo sim! Mas o sistema de avaliação da Steam só permite marcar como “gostei” ou “não gostei”, o que acho meio injusto em alguns pontos. Por exemplo, The Medium é um bom jogo — daria um 4/5. Recomendo se estiver abaixo de R$ 50, sendo o ideal por volta de R$ 40.

Se você curte terror psicológico, provavelmente vai gostar. E, se o seu hardware aguentar, vale destacar que o jogo renderiza dois mundos simultaneamente, exigindo uma configuração um pouco mais elevada que o de costume.

Psychological horror, extremely thrilling storytelling, the feeling being watched and followed all the time. All that is paired with awesome visuals and sounds that perfectly complement every scene. I really felt with Marianne.
If you like atmospheric horror games which use psychological horror instead of constant jumpscares, I can highly recommend this game.

Quite good idea but it lacks a little bit in the execution.

Nice story, a little bit out of my comfort zone as I generally dont play horror games.
Almost zero jumpscares and a very good environment that actually makes you uncomfortable with the sound and the visuals.

The moving was annoying for me, if you couple it with the camera. In some situations, movement was hilarious as PS2-3 era and then the camera just did it worse.

While I do explore a lot as I have some fear of missing out info, or going to boss fights unprepared, it was good enough to guide you without missing a lot of the notes for the lore.

I would suggest to buy it on a sale, or part of bundle. For me this full price is an exageration, based on what it provided. But at the same time you can expect a good game with some good twists.

The Medium is a super natural horror story, were you play as an actual Medium. Overall neat concept and interacting with all the spooky spooks made it feel pretty genuine. Interacting with objects, hearing their spirit/left over energy added a nice touch I haven't seen in a video game in quite awhile.

Pros: Good spooks and a few jumpscares (wear a head set for the best experience)
Controls were overall good.
Some puzzles were annoying but nothing too frustrating that anyone can handle.
Great eerie enviorment that takes place in the Poland area and forests.
Wonderful plot twists

Cons:
The story is a slow build and may not make sense to some viewers until they reach the end of the story.
Sense of direction or flow is sometimes distracting.
While a map may have been useful, it's not required (see previous point).
Dealing with certain mechantics it's not always clear what you need to do at times.
The running is hard to take seriously until she ACTAULLY runs (she jogs hahah).

I would have given this a 7, but without giving away actual spoilers, I'm not the biggest fan on the ending trope this game decided to take. Still if you like "6th Sense/Silent Hill" vibe like play, give this game a go.

The game mechanics are reminiscent of Silent Hill, but it's not a clone. It's not even a survival horror game. In general, it's more of a walking simulator with a good dramatic storyline. The world-splitting mechanics surprisingly don't cause any discomfort, as is usually the case when switching between characters. The visual is very well done. Despite the fact that you don't have to constantly survive, the balance of activity and tension is maintained. There's an unclear moment in the plot where an evil Henry appears out of nowhere and Richard, who was mentioned so much, disappears quickly. But in comparison with other games, all the characters are described in great detail, even if you don't read any notes at all, everything is clear. Overall, the game is very decent. I had been putting off playing it for a long time because of the split-screen mechanics, but it turned out to be a mistake.

Great game! The story, symbolism, art, mechanics were all inspiring and immersive. I wonder what the developers had in mind for the post credits cut-scene. From info I found online it's mentioned that Bloober Team are thinking about producing a film adaptation for the game, so maybe it will clear up the post-credits mystery scene. Overall game was very enjoyable and satisfying, I like when characters are put through misery, agony, sorrow, hopelessness and all that, self loathing is great. 7.7/10

Uma experiência diferente no terror
The Medium aposta mais em terror psicológico e atmosfera do que em ação. Isso lembra muito a filosofia clássica de jogos como Silent Hill 2, onde o medo vem do clima, da narrativa e da interpretação dos acontecimentos.
O jogo cria uma sensação constante de inquietação. Não é aquele terror de “sustos baratos”, mas sim um desconforto crescente, com ambientes abandonados, trilha sonora tensa e uma história cheia de camadas.
A mecânica dos dois mundos
Um dos pontos mais inovadores é o sistema de dual reality.
Durante várias partes do jogo, você controla a protagonista em dois mundos ao mesmo tempo:
o mundo físico
o mundo espiritual
Essa ideia funciona muito bem tanto narrativamente quanto nos puzzles. A mecânica reforça o conceito de mediunidade da protagonista e faz o jogador se sentir realmente atravessando dimensões.
Isso é algo raro em jogos de terror e dá uma identidade muito própria ao título.
História cheia de ambiguidades
A narrativa acompanha Marianne, uma médium que consegue ver e interagir com espíritos. Conforme a história avança, ela vai descobrindo segredos ligados a traumas, memórias e crimes do passado.
O jogo trata temas pesados como:

abuso
consequências das escolhas humanas

algumas decisões foram realmente corretas?
Esse tipo de conclusão não entrega respostas fáceis, e isso combina perfeitamente com a proposta psicológica da história.

Another good game from Bloober Team. Interesting story, cool locations, does not require 50 hours to beat.
In some places, I had a vibe very similar to Remedy games like Alan Wake or Control. You can count it as a positive comparison.

[code]Une belle aventure servie par une histoire l'étant tout autant mais voyons ça de plus près :)[/code]

Alors pour commencer je m'attendais à un tout autre genre de jeu en lançant The Medium, genre un peu à la Control (qui est un excellent jeu au passage) où l'on aurait eu à buter des créatures d'un espèce de monde à l'envers en utilisant des pouvoirs et en switchant d'un monde à l'autre, du coup rien de tout ça, mais je ne suis pas déçu pour autant.

Déjà j'ai trouvé le jeu très, très beau et je n'ai été dérangé par aucun bug, aucune chute d'ips, bref, une bonne optimisation.
Puis dès le début, le jeu pose une ambiance assez sombre, mystérieuse, parfois un peu malsaine sans jamais aller dans le gore mais juste ce qu'il faut pour faire un peu peur au joueur, pour qu'il reste sur ces gardes.
La jouabilité n'est pas en reste et Marianne répondra à chacune de nos sollicitations au doigt et à l'oeil, les différents pouvoirs dont elle dispose sont plaisants à utiliser.

Parlons maintenant de l'histoire qui m'a beaucoup plu, Marianne au début du jeu à perdu son père adoptif et doit gérer ses obsèques ainsi que son propre deuil, puis soudain elle reçoit un mystérieux coup de fil qui l'amènera à mener une enquête malgré elle sur son passé dont elle n'avait aucun souvenir à part avec un rêve qu'elle faisait tout le temps.

L'aventure débutera donc réellement à Niwa où vous devrez résoudre diverses énigmes (jamais très difficiles) pour avancer tout en récoltant des collectibles ici et là vous racontant le lore du jeu, vous serez parfois prise pour cible par un espèce de Némésis qui essayera par tout les moyens de mettre la main sur vous pour prendre possession de votre corps, ce que j'ai beaucoup aimer comparé à d'autres jeux c'est qu'ici il s'agit de séquences de courses-poursuites seulement et d'une poignée de passages où il faudra passer sans être vu, tout ça pour dire que ce n'est pas un jeu où l'on passe son temps accroupi et caché donc vous aurez tout le loisir d'explorer telle ou telle zone pour mettre la main sur les collectibles.

Pour ce qui est des pouvoirs de Marianne, qui ne sont pas si nombreux, ils sont tous très bien introduits et très faciles à gérer, il y aura un pouvoir pour se protéger, un pour voir certains éléments uniquement visibles dans le monde à l'envers et un autre servant à séparer son esprit de son corps, certaines énigmes seront évidemment intelligemment basées sur ceux-ci.

Pour terminer je dirais que le jeu est un peu trop facile, que vous pourrez le platiner aisément en une seule run avec un guide pour chopper tout ce qu'il y a à avoir, la durée de vie se situe autour de la dizaine d'heures de jeu (12h pour ma part en prenant mon temps) donc on va dire que comparé à certains autres jeux qui ont une durée de vie similaires et qui sont vendu 70-80€ celui-ci avec un tarif plutôt pas trop mal (49€99] mais j'aurais aimer malgré ça une aventure quand même un peu plus longue.

Les + :
+ Très beau et bien optimisé.
+ Super histoire, bien écrite et qui se découvre petit à petit.
+ Bonne ambiance.
+ Facile à platiner pour les chasseurs de succès.

Les - :
- On en aurait un tout petit plus.
- Pouvoirs pas très nombreux, on aurait pu en avoir des offensifs avec quelques mobs à buter par-ci, par-là.

Voilà, on arrive à la fin de mon évaluation, j'ai donc passer un bon moment avec Marianne et si un The Medium 2 devait voir le jour j'espère qu'il y aura + de phases de gameplay différentes comme des mobs à fracasser, pouvoirs switcher vraiment librement entre les deux mondes ou autre, malgré tout celà je vais attribuer un bon 15/20 au jeu et ce sera tout pour moi.

Interesante juego de aventuras con trasfondo de terror.
La historia no esta mal y la ambientación muy conseguida. Al principio se da un aire a Silent Hill pero está mas enfocado a los puzles (que no son muy complicados) que al terror. Y nada al combate, ya que no hay enemigos, a parte de un "Nemesis" que te persigue de vez en cuando.

Мы медиум Марианна способная видеть мир духов и взаимодействовать с ним, которая после похорон и прощения со своим покойным приёмным отцом, получает загадочный звонок от некого Томаса который заявляет, что он её знает и кто она, прося приехать к нему, чтобы с чём-то разобраться, после чего Марианна приезжает в заброшенный санаторий "Нива" времен ПНР, где предстоит найти этого самого Томаса и заодно разгадать тайны курорта.
Вообще скажу сразу, что сюжет разгоняется неторопливо и лишь ближе к середине (То есть в главе с комнатой отдыха) начинает раскрывается в полной мере и еще рекомендую собирать все записки и слушать эхо, так как в них скрыта заметная доля сюжета.
В остальном, сюжет очень неплохой и в меру закрученный который воспринимается скорее не как хоррор (Потому что по настоящему страшных моментов крайне мало, но напряжения хватает предостаточно), а как мистический детектив с налётом лайтовой лавкрафтовщины, где мы постепенно собираем картину в цельный пазл и поднимает темы спасения душ, ментальных травм и даже сюда втиснули арку экспериментов над медиумами и прочее. Правда концовка у cюжета открытая и с намёком на продолжение после титров, которое не факт что вообще будет. [/b] [/code]

[code] [b] Геймплей - Вот честно, сперва по скриншотам думал это какой-то сурвайл-хоррор, а на деле это бродилка-квест с фиксированной камерой аля ранние Резики и фокусом на исследование, выделяющиеся одной визитной карточкой в лице разделенного экрана вокруг оного выстроено немало головоломок, где одна половина это обычный мир, а другая что-то вроде астрала в котором мы можем выйти из тела на какое-то время, чтобы убрать преграду мешающую в первом или зарядится белым светом для включения щитков, либо духовного щита от роев мотыльков которые иногда встречаются на пути, однако эта фишка хоть и визуально прикольная, но по факту очень заскриптованная и включается в конкретные моменты.
Ну и куда же без головоломок, они хоть и очень простые но интересные, то мы проявим фотографии через растворы, то покрутим стрелки меняя комнату на глазах, попользуемся переходными зеркалами и т.п, попутно пользуясь интуицией (Или орлиным зрением).
Поскольку это игра от Блуберов, то по всем их заветам есть стелс-моменты и беготня от монстра кои крайне легкие ввиду общей рельсовости сегментов и предсказуемости самого монстра, зато здешнее управление не меньший враг, так как движение у героини немного танковые, что регулярно факапило беготню наравне с не всегда лучшими ракурсами. [code] [b] Графика - Медиум выглядит очень неплохо и местами даже симпатично несмотря на некоторые огрехи вроде слегка деревянной лицевой анимации и перебора с блюром который порой мылил картинку как расфокусированная камера. И хотя локаций можно пересчитать по пальцам и в основном это заброшенный санаторий "Нива" и лесные окраины, сами места сделаны детально, атмосферно и их интересно рассматривать кои одинаково хороши, как в обычном мире, так в мире духов который весь в желтовато-зеленом фильтре и похож на какие-то катакомбы с гигеровскими мотивами, есть конечно мелкие недочёты вроде английских надписей, притом что действие как бы происходят в Польше 90-ых и разрабы поляки.
Оптимизирована игра очень хорошо и на моей печке при максимальных настройках выдает где-то 60-90 ФПС с редкими просадками и тормозами, причём даже в моментах с раздвоенным экраном, ФПС лишь незначительно падал, но советовал бы не врубать RTX на полную (Без которого игра и так хороша), так как с ними игра превращается в слайд-шоу. Очень хороший мистический детектив-бродилка от создателей Observer и Layers of Fear в декорациях заброшенного польского санатория с интересным и закрученным сюжетом постепенно разгоняющиеся и прикольной фишкой в лице раздельного экрана с изучением двух миров сразу, приправленный очень неплохим и местами даже симпатичным визуалом, невзирая на многие косяки. Рекомендую со скидкой.

Цікава і незвичайна історія Маріанни та її сім'ї. Дуже сподобався геймплей зі спліт-скріном, взаємодіяти з двома світами водночас. Важко назвати це хоррором, більше просто важка атмосфера, з лякаючих моментів - був тільки один такий. Тому якщо гра вам цікава, а ви боїтесь скрімерів - The Medium вам не нашкодить. Приємний музичний супровід, цікава головна героїня, класний лвл дизайн.

Мінус - гра сильно коротка.

This games enviroments look great. Very beautiful, in a dystopian, decayed kind of way. The game play was ok. Its mostly just walking around and solving some "puzzles" from time to time. The story is keeping me entertained. I will definetly be finishing this game.

Jeu très sympa, le scénario est bien écrit et assez accrocheur. Les environnements sont superbes et la DA incroyable. gros plus pour les phases de jeu avec Thomas qui sont impressionnantes et très chargées en émotions.
Les ombres sur le tableau:
-des animations ridicules (surtout la course)
-des petits problèmes de rythmes dans le récit. Il y a des trop grosses longueurs à certains moment.
-les phases de poursuites sont cata, du pure die and retry qui m'ont cassé l'immersion à chaque fois.
-la fin. Il n'y en a pas. l'écran noir avant la conclusion de l'histoire donne l'impression qu'on a joué et enquêté pour rien.
-La musique est bien mais beaucoup trop rare.

Donc pour un jeu à atmosphère c'est dommage qu'il casse son rythme et son immersion si souvent. Et pour le côté "axé sur le récit" bha je suis déçu qu'il n'y ait pas de fin et que le jeu s'arrête d'un coup. Mais ça reste un jeu cool si vous avez déja fait le tour des gros noms du genre.

Ну что тут сказать, это Silent Hill в своём проявлении, тут не особо и сложно, всё интуитивно просто понятно, куда идти и что делать.
Ближе к концу игры она заставила поломать голову головоломкой с водой и не особо очевидное решение с монстрякой, но спишу это на свою невнимательность)
Играл я с фанатской озвучкой, голоса очень понравились, в некоторых моментах актриса ГГ как-то не особо звучала, но не критично.

Fiz 100% de The Medium em menos de 6 horas, então para mim foi uma experiência bem curta e objetiva. Visualmente, o jogo é muito bonito, com ambientação forte e algumas cenas realmente impressionantes. Dá para ver que existe um cuidado grande com direção artística, iluminação e com a proposta de trabalhar duas realidades ao mesmo tempo. A ideia do jogo é interessante e o clima psicológico funciona bem em vários momentos.
O problema é que a parte jogável não me pegou tanto. Esse estilo de câmera fixa, bem na linha dos Resident Evil antigos, não funcionou muito para mim. Em vez de aumentar a tensão, várias vezes só quebrou o ritmo e deixou a movimentação mais incômoda do que deveria.
No fim, achei The Medium um jogo competente, bonito e fácil de completar, mas que para mim ficou mais no “legalzinho” do que em algo realmente marcante. A história é ok, o conceito é bom, só que nada aqui me pareceu revolucionário. Vale a pena para quem curte horror psicológico mais cinematográfico e quer uma experiência curta, mas eu pessoalmente não me conectei tanto com a jogabilidade.

Nie doszedłem do samego końca bo gra jest zwyczajnie nudnawa. Nie czuć atmosfery horroru. Główna bohaterka jest co najmniej irytująca, a jej komentarze są niezwykle płaskie, niekiedy zbędne do bólu. Ta gra niezwykle mocno chce być horrorem specyficznego okresu historycznego w jakim jest osadzona fabuła, efekt u końca rozgrywki był komiczny kiedy szczerze zacząłem się zastanawiać czy następnym demonem do wyegzorcyzmowania będzie demon komunizmu. Sama estetyka obrazów Beksińskiego to zdecydowanie za mało żeby uratować tę grę.

I chose this game primarily because I really liked the Silent Hill 2 remake and because I knew about the controversy surrounding its allegedly irresponsible and nihilistic approach to trauma and abuse. After finishing the game, I unfortunately have to agree with the critics. Several times, my stomach turned at the way hereditary trauma is portrayed and human monstrosity is childishly reduced to a plot device; the ending of the game is downright hopeless sadism. They wanted to be very edgy, but instead, Bloober Team comes across as a bunch of bums who don't know how to write a narrative other than cynicism wrapped in smoke.

La verdad es que me gustó bastante el juego. Me arrepiento un poco de no haberlo terminado antes porque la historia es interesante y la ambientación está muy bien lograda. Si bien prioriza la atmósfera y la temática por sobre la profundidad mecánica, no deja de ser una propuesta atrapante.

-Los puzzles no son complicados y el ritmo es bastante tranquilo, algo estilo los survival horror clásicos, aunque la tensión se enfoca más en sobrevivir y explorar, no en el combate.

-En cuanto a la narrativa para mi está bien manejada, yendo a su tiempo y revelando la historia a buen paso.

-El aspecto de terror va enfocándose en los traumas y el terror psicológico, por lo que el factor suele ser más de tensión que de sorpresa.

-En cuanto la optimización del juego a veces se nota que le cuestan ciertas partes, sobretodo cuando ves ambas realidades, pero eso no es un gran problema.

Lo recomiendo para la gente que prefiere un juego por la atmósfera y la carga emocional que tiene. Si lo que están buscando es algo más de terror o mecánicas complejas, no va tanto por ese lado.

Un bellissimo gioiello, la parola che lo descrive meglio è "originalità". La storia è originale, le premesse di trama sono originali, le meccaniche sono poche ma ESTREMAMENTE originali. Lineare, intrigante, a volte anche leggermente inquietante. La passione messa nello sviluppo del gioco traspare perfettamente. La storia dura esattamente il giusto tempo, non sono troppe ore da far scoraggiare, né troppe poche da sentire di volerne di più, il perfetto equilibrio. 9 su 10, stra consigliato.

Что могу сказать... Первый для меня Детектив (не знаю, считается ли The Darkness 2 за часть из этого жанра)

Много крутых поворотов было, особенно под конец игры, когда думаешь что вот это оно - а оказывается второе, но переходит в третье.

Концовка неожиданная, думал как то по другому закончится вся история...

В общем, мне понравилось, ходишь, изучаешь лор, параллельные миры и решение их загадок (в основном все решается, но только в 1 моменте я долго тупил и пришлось лезть в гайд чтоб понять что дальше делать, т.к. забывал пользоваться Интуицией, ибо не привык к дополнительным вспомогательным функциям игр)

I'm a bit torn, because on one hand this game felt like the exact length it should be to tell the story it wanted to tell, but on the other hand, I wish the game was longer! It felt like there were mechanics of the game I would have loved to see expanded on, but could have also easily overstayed it's welcome. I really enjoyed the artistic direction and can see why this team was chosen for the Silent Hill 2 remake.

What I'm THRILLED there was not more of were the stealth and chase sequences. Those were horrible and did little to enhance the story. The monster was scary for maybe the first few minutes before I became more frustrated than anything. The stealth sections would have benefited from better level design and more a explicit tutorial.

Regardless, The Medium is an enjoyable, fairly short and linear atmospheric game. I would love to see a sequel with a bit more polish.

I wanted to like this game, and the first 3 hours of play I did, but then it changed. Even in the beginning the exploration is very limited and the puzzles aren't complex but the story was better. Then everything got worse. The writing, story, gameplay, everything. You can't even call them puzzles anymore. The main character changes just as the story gets interesting. There's no character advancement either. The devs never should have split the story.

Visually, it's like Zdzislaw Beksinski meets Pan's Labrynth. If you don't care about gameplay or puzzles then maybe give it a try. If you want to investigate a gothic horror game don't. There is no investigation, only exposition.

I liked the story, but the problem is that it gets interesting so late that I had to suffer through a mediocre, boring gameplay just for the sake of the theme. The gameplay also improves after a long time (though it’s still not good) and even the final stage isn’t that strong.

I really liked the later chapters, and I can specifically say that it started to get interesting after the character switched to a certain person.

I still think the split-screen, two-world concept is a really interesting mechanic, and it could have blended really well with a horror genre. But in this case, it felt like they only had the idea without properly executing it. The puzzles aren’t unique, and they’re not even interesting. You can basically turn off your brain and still solve them without any problem. The horror element is there, but it doesn’t create any real tension. The only scary moment was a small jump scare at the beginning, and I wouldn’t count that as a success.

I still recommend the game, because if it were truly bad, I wouldn’t have taken the time to write this review. I do think it’s worth playing, but I’m disappointed because I can see its true potential.

A gorgeous game with great mechanics and phenomenal performance but holy...the optimisation is kinda bad ngl my rig is suffocating with the normal RTX setting. The Medium runs at half the frame rates of Horizon Forbidden West or Clair Obscur Exp 33 on my PC.

Игра понравилась. Проходила дважды - один раз через стим, другой через плойку, но оба через джойстик и в наушниках, как и рекомендуется. Очень атмосферно, музыка тоже в моментах очень даже понравилась. По мне все как нужно и поразгадывать, и немного попугаться. В конце хотелось , конечно, больше конкретики, а то надо самим додумывать)

Ну шо сказать, топчик, поляки зробили дуже непогану гру, з улюбленою камерою з початку 2000х (ох кінематографічна камера, як же я за тобою сумую), з вайбами класичних адветюр, але осучаненною пʼятим анріалом. Виглядає чудово, грається приємно, звучить чудово. А камунякі гидотні точно як в житі, короче - можна брать не думаючи. (тільки попереджаю - подвійний рендер двох сцена на UE5, тутешній сплітскрін, вертів мій М4про на одому місці)

This game is different in a way that actually sticks with you.

First off, the atmosphere is crazy. The whole abandoned resort setting feels heavy from the jump. It’s not cheap jump scare horror, it’s that slow, psychological type where you feel uncomfortable even when nothing’s happening. The sound design especially? Insane. Play this with headphones and you’ll understand. The music and background noise alone carry half the tension.

The dual reality mechanic is what really makes it stand out. Switching between the real world and the spirit world at the same time isn’t just a gimmick, it actually makes the puzzles feel smart. Sometimes your brain lowkey has to work, but not in an annoying way. It feels rewarding when you figure things out.

Story wise, it’s dark. Like heavy dark. Trauma, guilt, messed up family history, it doesn’t sugarcoat anything. Some parts genuinely made me sit there for a minute and think. It’s one of those games where the ending doesn’t just wrap everything up neatly, and I respect that. It trusts the player to process it.

Now I’ll keep it real, if you’re expecting combat heavy gameplay, this ain’t that. You’re mostly exploring, solving puzzles, and surviving. The chase sequences can get tense, but this game is more about mood and narrative than action. It feels inspired by old school survival horror, but modernized.

Visually, the art direction is fire. The spirit world especially looks disturbing in a creative way, not just gross for no reason. It’s memorable.

Overall?
If you’re into psychological horror and story driven games, this is absolutely worth playing. It’s not perfect, but it’s bold, unique, and sticks with you after you finish it.

I’d give it a solid 8.5/10, not because it’s flashy, but because it actually commits to its vibe and delivers something different.

剧情很好，但是几乎需要打到最后两章才能彻底理清楚整个大故事的因果，前面所有关于托马斯和理查德的剧情都特别乱，只能云里雾里继续往后打，但是我很喜欢这个故事内核：战争和时代变迁下，每个人身不由己的选择和创伤如何像病毒一样，由一代人传染给下一代。至于画面和玩法，完全就是寂静岭＋层层恐惧+艾迪芬奇的记忆的感觉，难怪blooder team能拿下寂静岭2重制版的制作，山冈晃的音乐也很好听，操作难度很低，叙事性很强，很适合想尝试剧情类恐怖游戏的朋友

The Medium es, sin duda, uno de mis juegos favoritos. Desde el primer momento me atrapó su historia. Es de esos juegos que no te sueltan: me pasé toda la partida intentando anticipar lo que iba a ocurrir, armando teorías en mi cabeza y prestando atención a cada detalle. Incluso las historias secundarias están bien construidas y aportan al conjunto. Yo no querría parar de jugar hasta terminarlo.

Los puzzles son accesibles, lo cual agradezco, porque permiten que el foco se mantenga en la narrativa y en la atmósfera sin caer en frustraciones innecesarias. Pero lo que realmente me fascinó es la mecánica de las dos dimensiones. Las transiciones entre el mundo real y el espiritual están muy bien logradas, y las secciones con pantalla dividida, donde jugás en ambos planos al mismo tiempo, me parecieron brillantes. No es solo un recurso visual: está completamente integrado a la jugabilidad y al relato. También destaco los momentos en los que ambos mundos se superponen mientras corrés; esa mezcla de realidades genera una tensión muy particular y visualmente es impactante. Todo se siente coherente, cuidado y pensado como parte de una misma experiencia.

Es un juego que logra combinar historia, ambientación y mecánicas de forma orgánica. En mi caso, me dejó completamente absorbida y con esa sensación de haber vivido algo más que simplemente “haberlo jugado”.

Я всё больше убеждаюсь, что хоррор не мой тип игр, The Medium меня разочаровала.
Начало и конец были сильными с точки зрения сюжета, но все, что было между ними, представляло собой длинную ходьбу, связанное между собой коллекционными предметами и короткими эпизодами.

Коротко, что представляет геймплей игры: вы ходите, очень много ходите, читаете записки, находите разные предметы которые помогают увидеть прошлое, небольшие сценки, раз в час такой увлекательной ходьбы и чтение разных записок появляется монстр, от которого следует либо убегать, либо прятаться. Есть не особо сложные загадки, которые просто как по мне растягивают прохождение игры.

Что можно сказать про игру: ожидал большого, а получил скучный геймплей, да и в целом душноватую игру, сюжет интересный в начале и в конце. Для себя ничего интересного в игре я не увидел.

➖ The Medium - это невероятно атмосферное приключение , исследование мира , настоящий подарок для тех, кто ценит эстетику психологических хорроров . Игра от нас не требует быстрой реакции, но ждёт полного погружения и внимания к деталям. Главная фишка данной игры это разделение экрана на два мира которые видит наша героиня Марианна, она обладает уникальным даром существовать одновременно в физическом и духовном мире . Для неё этот мир как состояние души , она нигде не чувствует себя целой, она всегда «разрезана» пополам между жизнью и смертью.

➖ Сюжет здесь многослойный, он затрагивает темы семейных трагедий и того, как прошлые грехи эхом отдаются в настоящем. Игра нам показывает, что самые страшные монстры рождаются не в мире духов, а в головах обычных людей от боли, бессилия и злобы. Отдельно добавлю ,что духовный мир в этой игре не просто локация, а рентген души персонажей. Если в реальности пансионат — это бетон и пыль, то в мире духов — это гниющая плоть и застывшие крики, боль, страдания.

➖ Мне лично понравилось то, как игра работает с темпом. Да, она неспешная, но в этом вся её прелесть. Ты медленно бродишь по коридорам отеля , читаешь записки, восстанавливаешь события прошлого по кусочкам и буквально проваливаешься в эту историю. Если вы любите погружаться в сюжет с головой и цените визуальный стиль , то эта игра вам понравится. После прохождения ,игра оставляет нас с мыслями о том, насколько важно вовремя прощать и отпускать старые обиды, пока они не обрели плоть.

➖ Музыкальное сопровождение в игре впечатляет, и держит в напряжении. Так же показывает нам , что за стенами отеля скрывается гниль, а за монстрами — искалеченные люди. Музыка реагирует на твои действия, смену окружения, она не просто играет на фоне, а дышит в унисон с разделением миров, становится живым кошмаром.

Un muy buen juego de Bloober Team, les estoy cogiendo mucho cariño a las desarrolladoras polacas. Es un juego de aventura sin acción, mas tirando a aventura gráfica que a otro tipo de aventura, aunque tampoco tiene muchos puzzles, y los que tiene, bastante facilitos. Pocas mecánicas y fáciles de usar, y todo muy guiado, la verdad, hasta podría tratarse de un Walking Simulator, pero por lo que me ha encantado es por la historia y la narrativa. La historia está muy chula, pero lo realmente bueno es su desarrollo, su forma de contarla, el ritmo de la aventura, todo muy orgánico y muy bien implementado. Si sabes el tipo de juego al que estás jugando, y no te esperas otra cosa, como por ejemplo un Resident Evil, te va a encantar. Mi nota es un 8.
