An interesting format for storytelling, but the story they tell is "we should sacrifice ourselves to Elon Musk because he's a genius that will save humanity." Booooo. I know media literacy is dead because zero reviews mention this and it is not even the subtext of the game, it is just the text.
As advertised, it's an immersive interactive experience. Playable without VR and is pretty enjoyable. I'd get it at a steep discount though. It takes about 5 hours to see all the storylines. It's not crazy spectacular but it's also not awful. I enjoyed my time for sure.
In order to get this game to boot up, I had to dig into my firewall and turn off a random exe's access to the outside world. In order to get the audio to work on a quest -- well, actually, I don't know. I just spent the last hour trying out various ways of getting into the game with audio and nothing worked out. Game is not really in workable condition.

Il n'y aura donc rien à faire à part suivre les différents personnages sur les 4 actes pour y découvrir l'histoire & les points de vue de chaque personnages, en cherchant les quelques objets/indices/journaux en cours de route...
Les 4 actes se dérouleront en 1h30 environ qu'on refera avec un menu dédié à tous les persos pour y découvrir toute les intrigues avec aussi un système d'avance & retour rapide.
Concept intéressant & bien réalisé avec un design stylisé & une bonne histoire qui s'entremêle mais forcèment au gameplay hyper-limité.
Il est en français intégral avec un très bon doublage.
P.S.: En mode VR, quand démarré via Steam VR Home, le jeu n'aura pas de sons... il faudra le lancer via la bibliothèque Steam en étant en VR.

Caveat Emptor if you are only buying this game to play in VR mode right now, like I was. Currently, a number of players are experiencing a crash every time they attempt to start the game in VR due to some "Unreal Engine Error". For me, the game would only run in regular mode, which is why I am asking for a refund. The Devs have been virtually unresponsive in regards to helping me resolve this issue, or even to give me confidence that they acknowledge the issue and are working on a prompt fix. If you just want to play the game in regular mode, I'm sure it's a great game. Me, I won't spoil a game by playing through the story in regular mode when I bought the game to experience the story in VR. It is not the kind of game that you can enjoy playing over and over again once you fully experience the story.
This is one of my absolute favourite games on here, though it's not really a game... more an experience. You are trying to discover how Tesla died, and you can follow around the cast of characters and basically be like a detective but not be seen. You can rewind, fast forward, and see all events from everyone's perspective to try and figure it out. I had so much fun figuring it out and really enjoyed the story and cast of characters. It was so immersive, I really hope they do more.
Grandioses Spiel - ich liebe Detektiv- und social deduction-type Spiele und das hier ist richtig gut gemacht. Man kann Stück für Stück mehr erforschen und jedes Puzzleteilchen fühlt sich befriedigend am beim herausfinden.
Ich spielte das Spiel ohne VR, was ich als sehr angenehm empfand. Von einem VR-Let's Play, in das ich reingeguckt habe, konnte ich sehen, dass die VR-Steuerung wirklich um einiges unangenehmer scheint als mit Steam Deck und sehr wahrscheinlich auch Maus/Tastatur oder Controller.
Die Story selbst ist aber etwas deprimierend von der Message und dem Unterton, finde ich. Sowas muss es auch geben, haha.
Ab hier Spoiler zum Spiel und Triggerwarnung bzgl. den Themen, die ohnehin im Spiel behandelt werden:
[spoiler] Ich find's sad, dass von den acht präsenten Charakteren im Spiel nur zwei/drei moralisch vertretbar bzw. gute Menschen scheinen, und es sind genau die drei, die sterben. Das Spiel hat keinerlei Happy End und man bekommt nicht sein befriedigendes Gefühl, dass das Gute doch siegt. Aber einerseits braucht es sowas in der Tat, da das reelle Leben auch nicht so aussieht, dass alles ein Happy End nimmt; andererseits hat es mir aufgezeigt, wie gewöhnt und verwöhnt ich mit Happy Ends bin was Medien (Spiele, Filme/Serien, Bücher) angeht. Das fand ich schon ganz spannend herauszufühlen, muss ich sagen!
Die Story zwischen Victor Mundy und Mary Mundy aka. Sarah Bernhardt war ja krass genial. Ich habe bis kurz vor Ende des Spiels mir nicht die erste Szene bei Bernhardt ganz angeguckt, aber der Moment, wo sie ihre Nase abnahm und sich selbst mit Mantras und Schuakeln kurz darauf beruhigt, ist bemerkenswert gewesen! Richtig, richtig stark inszeniert - einer meiner liebsten Momente. Und Sarah wirkt auf den ersten Impuls fragwürdig, sich zu stark in ihre Schauspielerei reinsteigernd wenn sie wiederholt "Das ganze Leben ist eine Bühne und jeder spielt nur eine Rolle", aber sie spielt ja aktiv ihr Leben lang die Rolle einer anderen aufgrund ihrer Vergangenheit, die sie somit vertuschen/vergessen wollte. Mega, mega gut gemacht!
Selbst so kleine Aspekte, wie, dass Bernhardt am Ende von Szene 1 aus dem Fenster blickend genau den Regenschirm vor sich liegen hat, mit welchem sie am Ende Mundy das Leben nimmt. Haufen kleiner foreshadowings, dank denen es sich lohnt und wirklich Spaß macht alles aus verschiedenen Perspektiven zu sehen
Nowayyyyy, die Szene zwischen Mary Mundy und ihrem Vater, wo sie beide nicht um ihrer Bindung wissen - noway. Mutig, dass sich das Spiel solch eine Szene traut und ich applaudiere dem. Und dann Victor Mundy, wie er Augustus den Geisterempfänger klaut um Bernhardt zu helfen, dass sie Kontakt zu ihrer verstorbenen Mutter aufnehmen kann - die Frau, die er umgebracht hatte vor 26 Jahren; der Frau dabei zu helfen, dessen Nase er vor Gericht abhackte. Was für wilde, abstruse Twists in diesem Spiel sind - Wahnsinn.
Ebenso hatte Bernhardt genau in dem Moment festgestellt, dass Victor Mundy ihr Vater ist, als sie sich küssten, was ebenso auf weitere Arten of abuse hindeuten kann, heftig!
Das Spiel hat mich sehr dazu bekommen emotional mit Charakteren wie Augustus mitzufühlen und mitzuleiden, während mein Hass auf Edison und Mundy definitiv ausgelöst wurde - wundervoll eine Beziehung zu den Charakteren (durch ihre scheußlichen, emotions evoking Taten) aufgebaut. [/spoiler]
In 2025 in VR this is still totally worth a play. I had it in my list since release. Very nice story.

I was surprised by how much I liked [i] The Invisible Hours[/i]! I don't think I could bump it up to an 8/10, which to me is a recommend to everyone, but for players who like walking simulators, story-heavy games, and character-driven games, this is a hidden gem. [i] The Invisible Hours[/i] is a game (I use the term loosely) where you play as an invisible narrator investigating Nikola Tesla's murder and his rather colorful associates. You can’t touch anything, can’t change anything, can’t “solve” anything. You just float around Tesla’s mansion watching these characters unravel a murder mystery in real time. The hook is that you can rewind, fast-forward, and follow whichever character you like. Miss one scene? Rewind and stalk someone else.
When it works, it’s brilliant: layered storytelling, strong acting, and the joy of piecing together how everyone’s timelines intersect. But if you’re coming in expecting puzzles, branching choices, or an ending you can change, you’ll leave disappointed. This is pure narrative voyeurism.

[*] First, I have to shout out the VAs. This sort of game lives and dies by its voice acting, and I was impressed by the quality of the VAs. It's hard to explain, but the acting is way above average game standard. Everyone talks like an actual person; accents are (to me) easily identifiable and well ... nice sounding. Anger, sadness, confusion, joy, etc. is clear in each voice. ♥♥♥♥ Hollywood; I don't need no actors.
[*] Rewind/fast-forward mechanic. It’s liberating to just scrub through events at your own pace and it's super good for people who zone out easily, like me. It's also available from the first second of the game, so you don't have to unlock it or anything.
[*] Unique structure. There have been games where you play as an invisible observer and games where you have power over time, but I struggle to recall a game that blends both. Usually, players need player agency, but in this game, you have none. Still, it adds to the building tragedy of the game—I personally adore when a character is "trapped in the narrative" or cause their own deaths. Even more, the real-time overlapping stories give you that satisfying “a-ha” moment when you catch one scene from two angles.
[*] Replayability. Replaying the game is almost needed tbh. My first playthrough got me the answer to the big murder mystery but also left me with a lot of questions.
[*] Collectibles. The collectibles are usually easy-to-find and relevant to the story. It also gives you insight to the characters' background and motivations. I wished for more, honestly. The house was rather empty when I found them all.
[*] Strong atmosphere. The game takes place on an island with all the mystery clichés: rain and thunder, boat leaving the characters alone, rich eccentric, etc. But the well-known background only serves to create both a cozy and uneasy feeling! Even the inside of the mansion is a sort of Gothic mystery: hidden passages, crackling fireplaces, and looming ceilings.
[*] Cool map. The map includes a record of where you walked and at what time, along with where all the other characters are. So you could find out you followed one of the characters at 7 p.m. before breaking away to follow another character at 8 p.m.

[*] Slow pacing. While there are some action-esque chase scenes, most of the game is listening to characters talk. There will be a lot of walking and monologuing, which can test your patience if you’re expecting a more traditional mystery game.
[*] Short. A single playthrough is about 2 hours, and though replayability is encouraged, a full playthrough is about 8-9 hours. While all my questions were ultimately answered, [i] The Invisible Hours[/i] is definitely a short game.
[*] Ending might be unpopular. I liked the ending! And I thought it was rather surprising, but other players might not like the rather tragic end.

의도한 건 아니지만 니콜라 테슬라 탄생 169주년(7월 10일)에 게임을 하게 되었네요.
네, 이 게임은 토마스 에디슨도 나오고 일론머스크 이름도 잠깐이나마 등장하는 팩션게임입니다. 그래서 지루하게 느껴질까 걱정했는데 역사적 기반의 지식 따윈 전혀 필요 없었어요. 대신 에디슨 옹호가라면 좀 불편할 수 있는 내용들이 많습니다.
이 게임은 99퍼 관찰로만 진행됩니다. 여러 등장인물들이 나와 각자 행동하고, 유령같은 존재인 플레이어가 저택살인사건 스토리의 진상을 알기 위해 흥미로운 사람 한명씩 쫓아다니며 진실을 파악하는 거예요.
전형적인 저택미스터리 클리셰(비오는 배경, 숨겨진 공간, 미로같은 저택, 탐정캐릭터 등)를 좋아한다면 무시할 수 없는 게임입니다. 찰흙얼굴이 부담될수있지만 졸졸 따라다닌다고 뒤통수 많이 보니 괜찮아요.
나온지 8년은 된 게임인데도 인터페이스도 딱히 불편한 거 없었습니다. 엔터키를 치면 나오는 화면에서 등장인물 각각의 타임라인과, 제가 보지못해 비어있는 시간대, 그리고 모은 단서들 확인할 수도 있고, 자동세이브라 하다가 중간에 나가기도 편했어요.
그리고 영알못인데 할만했어요. 시간을 정지할 수도 있고 되돌릴 수도 있고 빨리감기도 됩니다. 창모드는 설정에 따로 없지만 alt enter로 테두리없는 창모드로 전환가능해서 mort번역기로 느긋하게 스토리 감상할 수 있었습니다. 편지는 파파고이미지번역 쓰면 되고요.
워킹시뮬레이션 넘치는 시대에 이건 게임이 맞다고 생각됩니다. 단순히 살인사건 범인만 눈으로 보고 끝내는게 아니고 플레이어가 적극적으로 테슬라의 일기와 기사를 모으고 도전과제 the room service를 완료해야 모순적으로 보이던 내용들의 진상을 알 수 있거든요.
아무튼 신선한 느낌을 준 게임이었습니다. 잘 끝나서 여운은 없네요.

It's not really a game, it's more of a movie that you are in the room for. You can freely maneuver the map to see what each character is up to at any given point. At the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it, but I did. The story was fairly slow at the start, but got more interesting as it went on. You really have to watch the story progress from each character's point of view to get a full idea of what's going on, as there are side plots and other happenings behind the scenes. The story is pretty short, taking only around 3 to 4 hours to complete. I clocked in 5 hours, but I went back to finish up some collectibles and missed achievements. I would recommend the game, although at a deep discount as the retail price is a bit steep for what it is.

The game just crashes when I start it in VR on three different computers (when one of them is a laptop). The devs just ignore the crash reports, which I send everytime. Nothing is fixed. Massive dissapointment, 'cause the game looks really good.
It seems like a good game based on other reviews, but unfortunately, I was unable to play it due to the voices not working.
If you do buy the game, I suggest trying to play the first 10 minutes and checking if the NPC voices are working. If they aren't, do not play the game for more than 2 hours, as you will be less likely to get a refund (I spent 5 hours trying to figure out the audio issues, but was unable to resolve it).
And the company Tequila Works is no longer running, so there is no way to get support for the game anymore.
About 9 hours of fun on this game. The graphics are great on UWS 3440x1440. Sound is great too. The voice acting is very good. Its like watching a movie, but you can navigate to just about anywhere you want. You have controls to pause, fast forward and rewind. I played on a regular desktop and not VR. Youre able to freely move everywhere like youre walking with the character. There is a map screen too and it has all of the characters below it. The controls work well and dont take too long to figure out.
Its a murder mystery and a lot of fun because there will be several scenes occuring all at the same time.Youll need to pick on to watch and then rewind to go back to the others. The story is really great. It has lots of depth for each character. its very well written. I was very impressed by this game. Its unique. I have never played anything like this before.
If you like mystery games this one is for you! I absolutely loved it. Played it multiple times.

Something a little bit different, but had great fun with this!
I was skeptical about this game for at least two reasons. 1) I was tired of Tesla’s mythological reputation. 2) For years, story based 3D adventure games (e.g. Agatha Christie, Blacksad, The Council, State of Mind, Frogwares games) have largely failed to deliver on their promises, with the exception of Telltale Games.
But wow, was I wrong. I haven’t finished the game yet, but I’m about halfway through, and it’s been a blast so far. I’m not particularly drawn to gameplay-focused games unless they have psychologically fleshed out characters, interesting relationships, and good voice acting. This game ticks all those boxes, and it has managed to pull me in so thoroughly that I’ve found myself playing for hours on end.
Sadly, as is often the case with a specific type of games I enjoy, it hasn’t sold well. It seems to me that story based games (except the pseudo-deep ones like Disco Elysium, Talos Principle, Undertale, A Plague Tale, Oxenfree, This War of Mine, Bioshock Infinite, and for some reason Doki Doki), have been struggling for years to find an audience, as evidenced by the downfall of Telltale Games, unless they’re paired well with good gameplay or interesting atmosphere (e.g. SOMA, Outer Wilds, NieR Automata, Hellblade, Pathologic, Stanley Parable, Enderal, Firewatch, original Bioshock, Mass Effect, and lots of point-and-click games). So I think Tequila Works needs to sugar their upcoming pills with unique settings if they want people to give them a chance. Spec Ops The Line had the same problem, a nice story with not-so-interesting gameplay and setting. I mean, make Tesla a cyber-cat or something, I don’t know..
Oh and it's not a one hour game unless you're rushing to the end, which is basically skipping the game.
An amazing game that I'm shocked more people don't know about. The main mechanic of the game is so interesting to play around with and the many perspectives and stories of each character are well played out. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves a good mystery.

Far more passive than most games, this interactive experience is more designed to immerse than to interacted which is a surprisingly novel idea.
Wow, I'm late to the game here, but just played through Chapter 1 last night in VR and was completely and totally hooked. The vibe of the game feels very much like a "Knives Out" story but plays similarly in a way to "Return of the Obra Dinn", though I should note both were released after "The Invisible Hours".
The mechanics of pausing, rewinding, and fast forwarding make for a super intriguing "whodunit" unraveling of mysteries as you replay scenes from different persons' perspectives, and follow them as they splinter away and rejoin one another, uncovering hidden motives and connections between characters. The planning and care that must have gone into all these interwoven subplots while maintaining a super compelling overarching narrative track is just incredible.
The conceit of the theatre as hub for this story is perfect and the user interface and tools presented at the chapter summary are so ingenious and perfect as well.
The inclusion of Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison as major players in the story adds another layer of intrigue and allure, considering the historical context of their real-life relationship which was adversarial to say the least. These historical figures add some wonderful grounding and weight to the scenes and situations.
Can't wait to go back!
A genuinely unique visual novel-like experience where you can follow the story by following different characters around. You get to the end of one story and think you 'understand' what is going on only to follow someone else later and realize you had it all wrong. Only by following each character can you finally piece the whole story together. Great use of VR.
A really fun whodunit style mystery with a similar gameplay mechanic to [i]The Sexy Brutale[/i], where multiple scene play out simultaneously while you move around and manipulate time in order to piece everything together.

Esto es un juego muy bueno y también MUY particular. A tal punto que no hacemos nada en el, solo observamos lo que sucede como si estuviésemos viendo una película con la particularidad de que podemos retrocederla, pausarla o avanzarla tantas veces queramos y mover la cámara con total libertad, con la intensión de descubrir que fue lo que pasó.
Por ejemplo si queremos podemos ir a la cocina desde el inicio y pasarlo al 100% ahí. O podemos estar en una habitación y a una hora determinada ir a otro lugar, podremos recorrer el mapeado a nuestro antojo. Todo para poder dar con alguna pista que nos diga que sucedió. Somos como un Sherlock Holmes fantasma y no tenemos ningún tipo de interacción con nadie ni con nada. La trama ya está establecida por lo que solo podremos observar.
En fin, si te gustan las intrigas y los juegos de investigación, no te puede faltar este. Porque realmente lo vale. Este juego es único. El Argumento nos presenta un asesinato y nuestro objetivo es deducir lo ocurrido. El juego comienza justo después del hecho y debemos observar el comportamiento, las acciones y escuchar las conversaciones de cada uno dentro de la mansión. De ahí tomar nota e ir descubriendo la realidad.
La verdad creí que iba a ser aburrido y corto pero resultó ser todo lo contrario. El juego me duró un poco mas de 6 horas pero esto depende de cada uno. Yo lo jugué con tranquilidad analizando y disfrutando del juego en cada movimiento ya que lo amerita desde mi punto de vista.

-Si sos de esos que no sabe jugar solo y que pregunta siempre si hay alguien para jugar online porque sino se aburre y no juega.
-Si sos de esos que no disfrutan una mier-da de lo que esta haciendo en el momento y quiere pasarse los juegos lo mas rápido posible para pasar al siguiente juego.
-Si sos de esos que juegan con otros y en lugar de jugar como se debe, se la pasa troleando al resto como imb3cil
-Si no te compras tus propios juegos porque usas la tarjeta de tu papí o mamí o te compras los juegos a costas del trabajo de otros.
-Si jugas todos los días de la semana mas de 4 horas y mantenés este promedio sin importar lo que pase,
-Si estas familiarizado con términos como flipflop, half-flip, flip-reset.
-Si sos de hablaispana pero intercalas palabras en ingles solo porque necesitas sentirte en onda y decis en reiteradas ocasiones palabras tales como "nice" o "chase" y no sos ningun profesor de ingles ni nada solo hablas así por moda, no solo este juego no es para vos sino que también mereces una buena paliza. Para eso anda a jugar al among us, minecraft o fortnite, rocket league o CSGO y a hablar pelotudeces por streaming mientras le pedis la lechita a tu vieja "bicos iu jav chu faders, tu nait tu nait fac fac fac an den iu jav a problem".
Pero si no calificas dentro de ningún punto de los mencionados anteriormente, entonces
TE LO RECOMIENDO ABSOLUTAMENTE!!!. Porque esta muy bueno!!. Aunque su precio de 30 dólares..., por 4 horas?!!! Están locos. Estos son como los de la costa Argentina, se quieren salvar todo el año con los únicos giles que van por 15 días a sus playas. En fin, el juego es bueno si, pero por 30 dólares es muy caro para lo corto que es.
Así que lo recomiendo pero con una buena oferta. tipo 5 o a lo sumo 7 dólares pero no mas.

Kind of like TACOMA, but on steroids - here every character has its own story and you can follow them instead of main plot (or after, or simultaneously ...full freedom :)
This was one of the coolest ways to experience a story, in my opinion. There wasn't really much gameplay, however being able to walk around the set, follow any character that interested you, and piece together what is happening in your own time is an incredible experience. I can't think of any other game that has done this and that is a real loss to us all, as it is just a wonderful way to see a story play out.
It's watching a movie, but you have control of the camera and can examine anything you want, whenever you want.
What a fun way to experience a story! I really enjoyed learning bits and pieces of the story depending on which character I was following. The story was really well written and the characters are very fleshed out. The game was originally made for the VR and it definitely shows. The controls can be a little wonky at times because of this. The intrigue of a good mystery made overlooking the wonky controls pretty easy though. Right when I thought I had the mystery solved, The Invisible Hours threw me for a loop.

L'ottimo parlato non è disponibile in italiano, i sottotitoli in inglese aiutano, ma se avete problemi con la lingua inglese lasciate perdere, perchè vi perderete tantissimo.
Très court mais très bon doublage en français. Une petite intrigue avec un système de déplacement dans le temps original qui permet de revivre des séquences temporelles en se trouvant dans un autre endroit.
Muy bueno, al más puro estilo de Agatha Christie. Súper entretenido y enganchador. Lo terminé en 8 horas prácticamente seguidas. Lo recomiendo al igual que su otro juego (Sexy Brutale) ambos son una joya del misterio.

I'm currently replaying this marvel on my Steam Deck (and plan to again on my HP Reverb in VR). Re-living this totally original, experience is a real treat. The Invisible Hours is one of my favourite 'games' of all time due to its exceptional immersion. I think they need to discount it quite heavily now but I want more of this kind of experience. Tequila Works is definitely one of my favourite studios. Highly recommended (when its on sale).

The Invisible Hours is an intriguing detective game centered around the mysterious murder of Tesla. The game features a time rewind mechanic that allows to observe all seven characters. In this game we are only observers and do not influence the game's story. The game includes interesting characters (some of the actors I saw in the movies). It's designed for VR, but is also playable without it. The concept of the game, in my opinion, is stunning.
Froze after a 50 minutes of play. Tried to uninstall and reinstall. still will not start game. I have played many other games prior and since with no problems. hoping to get some support. don't bother buying if you have steam deck.
I enjoyed this game way more that I thought I would. At first when I read that it's just a "story" that you observe I was dubious, but it is so much fun to be able to walk about the place, uncover new details to the story with each characters you follow, and really unique. And the story ended up being a lot more intriguing, especially if like love sci-fi. Basically it's like watching a really good movie, but instead of having a fixed camera, you are the camera, and you can go where you want. Definitely try it out.

Blown away by this game. Truly a gem. I went into it not expecting very much, but based on the reviews it seemed like it was worth it, and I'm SO glad I went for it. I played in VR (Reverb G2, RTX 2080) with no issues. The resolution/quality wasn't perfect, but I value story/gameplay and fps over ultra graphics settings, so that was fine for me. Still plenty detailed and often I found myself just gazing out the windows at the storm.
VR is definately not required for this, and it doesn't add much; but did make for a very enjoyable way to experience the story.
This is more than just a "watch a story". Not only can you walk around at will during the story (following different characters, etc), but the game tracks all your movements, and at the end of each act you're presented with a timeline and blueprint of the house which shows where you were the entire time, as well as markers for people you may have seen (based on where you were looking and your field of view during the playthrough). You can pause, rewind, fast-forward, and go back to previous chapters.
The story was great. After my first playthough I thought I had it figured out... and my 2nd playthrough had so many new revelations -- had to pick my jaw up off the floor 4-5 times.
Both playthroughs only took me 3 hours. For me, that's worth the price, as it was quite an entertaining experience, and certainly on-par with going to a theater experience or something that's usually quite more costly.
Absolutely awesome story telling. The overall story is predictable but the way it is told is really fun to explore. I wish they would make more games like this one. Highly recommended.

The game's intriguing mystery and engaging mechanics captivated me throughout. I'm eager to see it evolve into a series, offering another story that employs these same compelling gameplay elements.
If you can get past the game crashing at the start (it seems to be related to 64bit and a dll for SSL), Index knuckle controller don't work well. And no note on not supporting the controllers. It just states "steamvr" on compatibility, but it looks to support the quest/oculus controllers mostly.

剧情本身放到2023来看已不新鲜，但它仍然是某种意义上的神作。直接抛弃菜单界面，插入电影票开始，Q快退，E快进，空格暂停，在游戏内完成真实跨越出口的举动才能退出等。虽然知道是为vr模式服务，但是此种对剧院氛围几近偏执的模拟还是太惊艳了。看电影时你是否好奇过，当眼前这幕发生时，电影世界里的其他角色正在做什么？如何化解这种“看不见”？这个游戏做到了，也是标题里Invisible一词的含义。玩法上往小了说它只是步模，交互式电影，往大了说它仿佛先模糊了电影和游戏的边界，又孕育出某种试验性的满足偷窥癖的把拍摄主导权托付玩家的将多维镜头堆叠在一起的奇异形式。（真正的3d电影？）硬挑缺点的话可能是第二起凶杀后节奏有点崩坏，第三四场之间本可填充更多内容。
隐藏结局将玩家身份从旁观者转化为参与者，观众变成了演员，与前期阅读的一份新闻完美照应，又一次巧妙的破次元壁试验。

Its a pretty good interactive theatre experience. You are solving/watching murder mystery experience by fast forwarding and reversing the different chapters to watch what everyone in the house is doing.
I would definitely recommend this game; however, be aware that I can no longer get it to work on the latest hardware/software (Windows 11/Pimax Crystal). Others seem to be having the same issue, so I'm hoping the developers patch this so that new users can enjoy this very original VR game.
This game has real issue with voicing. Whereas the ambiance sounds are on, the speech is muted. You have to read the subtitles. Also, it has problems with controls.

In some movies, there are multiple scenes telling different parts of the story that are switched to and from, back and forth. In this game/experience, you get to experience everything that is happening from the perspective you choose.
If a character is waiting alone, perhaps you could observe another. If someone is yelling or screaming, perhaps you could observe the scene to understand why it happened. If a certain character seems more interesting, perhaps you could observe them more.
There are so many different encounters in this game, giving you plenty of hidden details and personalities to observe, and since you are a silent observer, there are pieces of evidence you can find, notes, diary entries, etc. that add a bit more to the experience.
The only thing that really bugs me is how in VR mode, there's no smooth locomotion.
If you love murder mysteries, Tesla or Edison, or if you just happen to be very curious, this game is definitely for you.

An extra note to achievement hunters: make sure to watch all scenes before going for any achievements. Other than hidden objects and a few things here and there, everything is closely tied to the story, and being curious enough to peek behind the curtains of hidden achievements will spoil some parts of the game. After all, the game is designed so that if you finish one part of the story, there are still many more things to uncover, it's far from done.
Great story you can see from every point of view
This was so interesting, I wasn't sure if being just a story if I would like it but I did. There are no puzzles but you can collect items for achievements. There aren't any monsters or fighting either. It's kind of like being a ghost watching events happen. Still I enjoyed it.
I was very intrigued by the first couple of hours only to be let down by an incredibly mundane and disappointing "mystery" and the remaining hours showed me all the weak writing on most of the other characters. Conceptually, it's quite brilliant but the execution is significantly lacking and I genuinely had more fun hunting for achievements than whatever nonsense was going on with the plot. The game is terribly jank out of VR with dialog audio not properly audible a lot of the time, subtitles not appearing if the characters are inches outside the room you're in, wonky controls and no sprint function, and no way to actually even quit the game cleanly without Alt+F4. I feel like I expected more out of the game and I was severely let down by how average it is.
Finally got around to playing this and oh my gosh, what a great story. You're missing out if you skip over this one. Very well written and I really enjoyed almost every minute of it.

I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys murder mystery movies and doesn't need any interactivity. "Immersive theater" is a fair description though you can also go anywhere at anytime and control time in order to see what each of the characters are up to.
This is from the same developer of the Sexy Brutale, and although this game is shorter on average, I enjoy Invisible Hours more because I found the story or themes of Brutale to not be of interest to me.
Here is what you need to know about it, spoiler free:
+It is immersive in how relatively detailed the mansion is and ample outdoor audiovisual atmosphere. The same can't be said for...
-Physics of objects held by characters are sloppy even for its time, and character faces when talking could be better.
?Graphical fidelity was pretty good for its time, though doesn't age as well as it could have with better textures or character details.
+Audio quality and voice acting is pretty good, though the overall acting wasn't quite top knotch compared to the best non-fantasy story games.
+The story is rich and often intriguing, with plenty of clues, pictures, and diary entries to read.
-After starting the game and the story begins, the only way to pause is space bar to pause & move, or hit enter key to view the timeline from the theater. Nothing explained this unless you view options before starting the story. Also, the game can only be properly exited from the theater, just to the right of the stage with the timeline view.
?A diary book/page may have more than 1-2 pages, and the arrow on the page must be clicked to explore them.
+It took me nearly 3 hours to explore 75% of the game to my satifaction, and I was content with that length. As little as 1 hour or several more hours than me can be spent following all characters to view all scenes or finding all other notable clue/items.
?The primary conclusion of the murder mystery fits the context of the location & people involved, and although I thought it was decent, not everyone is going to like it. Evidently an additional or different conclusion can be reached by reading all diary entries, though I didn't arrive at one, likely because I didn't read all the things.
I Loved this game, to the point of getting 100% completion, achievements included. Having the ability to watch a movie or "theatre" is something I didn't know I needed to see in games. Think Hitman where you just listen in on other people's conversations without being able to kill anyone yourself.
The controls took me a while to get used to, for instance, being able to go to the 'menu' doesn't happen with esc, it happens with Enter. And you can't just exit the game, you have to walk out of the exit door in said theatre. Also, it took a while to understand that i didn't need to start from the beginning of each chapter and fast forward through the whole thing, you can control where you spawn in each time you return from the theatre by clicking on where you want to be on the map. It also slightly irked me that some aspects of the story feel unfinished,

Like many others, the game just crashes for me shortly after booting. I even wiped my hard drive, re-installed Windows, and downloaded a fresh copy. Still crashes.
Meu deus que jogo BOM, QUE JOGO BOM. Personagens bem escritos, carismáticos, um mistério interessante. Tudo impecável. O ÚNICO ponto que falhou foi o final que pareceu meio anticlimatico em relação ao resto de jogo, mas ainda assim, vale MUITO a pena. Ah, e nem perde tempo jogando em VR, jogar no desktop é 10x melhor.
What VR storytellers should strive for. Good game mechanics, superb voice acting and engaging story line.
This game is like a theater play where you walk around the area and spectate what each character is doing. I don't think I ever play a game which is similar to this one, it's a pretty cool idea and just to thought of being able to see the story unfold from different perspectives is always nice to see.
However, the fact how the game was made is kinda ungame-like since for the most part you don't actually play the game. It's closer to filming a movie in which you take the role of a cameraman and follow each actor at your own pace. The only real thing that makes this a game are the collectibles. Speaking of the story, it's engaging, fun to watch, voice acting is top notch and takes about 3 hours to finish watching every single line of what the characters have to say.
The graphics are also amazing. What sucks is the lack of things to do in-game. The world isn't the biggest either, however it's packed with assets so I'll let the overall size slip.
To wrap it up, if you manage to find the game for lower price than how much it goes for without sale, I would say it's worthwhile. It's not the longest by any means and I'm sure the gameplay isn't for everyone but hey, if you wanna chill and experience something else then why the hell not.

This game looks really great but unfortunately I couldn't get immersed without voice acting. The background sounds and effects were great though for the short time I played.

The game is described as "not a game and not a movie" and I would say that's an accurate description. It is a world that sucks you right in as you get to be a "fly on the wall". You have the opportunity to have the story unravel from every characters perspective and the use of pausing, fast forwarding and rewinding is used wonderfully. It's difficult to not get sucked into the narrative and though most places will say "Invisible Hours" takes anywhere from 1-3 hours to complete. I am an hour and half in and only through 1 of 4 chapters. If you are into story driven games give this a go. So far it is quite captivating and I'm eager to see what's next.

A great VR experience where you follow a series of events as an observer. You cannot effect the story in any way. The story is there, you just need to follow the characters and see how the story unfolds.

Really don't like the gameplay
A unique combination of murder mystery, stage plays, and science fiction. Truly a unique gaming experience even if you don't have a VR Headset.
If The Invisible Hours were a movie, both critics and users would have trashed it. The script is bad and simply doesn't make sense, the dialogue is ridiculous, graphically it's repetitive and doesn't stand out and the game simply... doesn't have an ending? (Because what you have to do to get the credits to appear is ridiculous and can't be considered an ending).
It's a shame that just because it's a videogame this project got good reviews, and that says very little about videogames and what we gamers expect from them.
I hope that in the future games like this one will be released, but of the quality and category that they should be.
PS. Liberally, after testing the game on several good computers (version without VR) the game crashes a few seconds after starting. The developers have not deigned to answer me. I had to buy it and play it on PS4.
Like watching the movie Clue (1985) except in addition to being able to move temporally (rewinding and fast-forwarding) you can also move spatially throughout the mansion. Brilliant idea, great execution.

A masterpiece without a doubt
Make sure you get the 2 reveal endings- I nearly missed the one that the diary clues around the house allude to. Utterly brilliant ending to a very satisfying VR trip... don't miss out.
Unexpected and delightful gem. Simply explore a well written story being told from all perspectives. You can select 'follow' on any of the characters, and sit back and watch the chapters or sections at will, pausing and rewinding.
It's written in an Agatha Christie style, it's in a large mansion on a small private island. It's night, and guess what? There is a thunderstorm. Oh, and a murder.
All the characters are well choreographed, and if you take the time to just sit and watch a character for a while, you'll notice that they react to other sounds and events in the scene, even when they appear to be doing nothing for several minutes and is otherwise not relevant to the story. A stray umbrella is involved in one such example.
No gameplay involved, only a good story with great atmosphere and voice acting. Explorers will be rewarded with achievements, as well as the in game objectives, which is mainly collecting things.
One of the few games I have all achievements for, since I normally don't go for them. Here they just popped up while doing old-school exploring and clicking (plus a guide for the 2 I missed).

Interesting and long game. I would call it more of a story than a game- it is like stepping into an Agatha Christie book-turned-into-a-movie. I haven't finished it yet, but there's not a lot of game to it, and I love it anyway. You do move around and control how/when the story unfolds, but it is a set story (you can't change it or interact with the characters by asking them qs).
Absolute trash. I can here ambient sounds but no voices. Which is frustrating to have happen at all but I cannot find any solutions either. Steam says I've played 3.5 hours. That's 3.5 hours of me trying to fix the sound in the first 10 minutes.

Neuvěřitelně povedená hra, tedy za předpokladu, že přistoupíte na její zvláštní hratelnost. Ona to totiž není ani tak moc hra, jako spíše sledování scén. Tvůrci to trefně přirovnávají k divadlu. Vaše postava nijak neovlivní děj, míra interakce s prostředím je minimální (můžete vzít do rukou určité předměty, ale to je tak vše) a na vás tedy je pouze to, abyste sledovali postavy a postupně tak odkrývali děj. Umím si představit, že tohle je ten důvod pro mnohé, proč jim tenhle titul nebude po chuti. Hra totiž nemá prakticky ani žádný konec, vše skončí dost otevřeně a je na vás, abyste se poté věnovali sledování jiných postav a pospojovali si střípky toho, co se v tomhle panství vlastně stalo. Protože vězte, že když sledujete jen jednu jedinou postavu v průběhu všech čtyř aktů, tak vám toho strašně moc unikne.
Příběh sám o sobě mi přišel dost zajímavý a to hlavně díky skutečnosti, že zde figuruje Nikola Tesla. Ten si pozval do svého panství pětici lidí, ale než s ním někteří stačí promluvit, tak už leží mrtvý u vstupních dveří. Atmosféra postupně houstne, jak se mezi hosty i služebnictvem rozmáhají pochybnosti, nedůvěra a jedna lež střídá druhou. Vytváří se dočasná, byť vratká, spojení, taktéž se tu ale budují nepřátelství a někteří lidé staví své domněnky na mylných základech. Je to zkrátka krása, pozorovat, jak se chová každá z postav, jak má každá jinou osobnost a jak se chová zcela jinak. Díky smrti Tesly tu začne kvést nejistota a jindy příčetní lidé začnou propadat panice, protože jim je jasné, že jsou na tomto ostrově, v tomto panství, s člověkem, který je schopen vraždy. A když ji spáchal jednou, může tak učinit i znovu.
[h1]Sledování[/h1]
Příběh se mi zkrátka líbil, stejně tak i různorodé postavy, z nichž jsem si některé dost oblíbil a jinými jsem naopak pohrdal. Musíte však brát v úvahu to, že jsou tu sci-fi prvky, které můžou ne každému sednout. Nikola Tesla byl přece jen nakonec famózní vynálezce, který předběhl svou dobu a to se odráží i v tom, co naleznete v jeho osamělém panství na ostrově uprostřed ničeho. Budování vztahů mezi jednotlivými postavami, skoro by se mi chtělo říct až aktéry, je parádní, uvěřitelné a tak nějak logické, takže se nikdy nepozastavíte nad tím, že tohle nedává smysl. A nebudu lhát, je tu pár děr ve scénáři, ale ten je jinak opravdu parádní a dialogy jsou místy dost napínavé, stejně tak děj, u něhož očekávejte několik šokujících odhalení.
Atmosféra by se zkrátka dala krájet a byť je hra velmi rychle u konce (projítí všech čtyř aktů trvá zhruba něco přes hodinu), připoutá vás to do křesla a je těžké tuhle hru odložit. I já se chytil do její pasti, kdy jsem ji hrál čtyři hodiny v kuse po prvním dohrání, abych si vyplnil mezery a sledoval ostatní postavy a odhalil jejich temná tajemství. Obdržíte tu několik velmi užitečných nástrojů, které velmi zpříjemňují hratelnost. Za prvé to je možnost automaticky sledovat postavu. Což se hodí, pokud nechcete neustále za ní chodit, takže to takhle zapnete a sledujete ji od začátku až do konce (samozřejmě to lze kdykoliv vypnout). Pak tu máte velmi důležité zastavení času, kdy se svět zbarví do černobílé barvy a vy se můžete procházet všude po ostrově, zatímco vám nic neunikne a odhalit třeba nějaké nové poznatky. Kromě toho lze i vracet čas zpátky klávesou Q, nebo jej naopak rychle posunovat vpřed klávesou E. To se hodí u scén, které jste viděli, případně když čekáte, až některé z postav konečně přestane sedět na židli a zvedne se z ní. Ke sledování vám poslouží velmi dobře i mapa dostupná v menu, kde vidíte jednotlivé postavy jako tečky a pokud jste byli svědky jejich pohybu, tak je zde zaznamenaný. Rovněž zde máte i výběr důležitých scén a časovou linku, stejně jako zde na grafu vidíte, kdy přesně jste danou osobu sledovali (tzn. pokud celý první akt, tak je tento graf vyplněný celý). Zkrátka to je vše hodně přívětivé pro vašeho vnitřního detektiva a hra vám nijak nehází klacky pod nohy v tomto ohledu. Mezi jednotlivými akty se lze navíc přepínat a vybírat určitý čas, který chcete přehrát znovu.
[h1]Jako v divadle[/h1]
Dabing postav se mi hodně líbil, zvuky jsou parádní a hudba hraje sporadicky a vždy jen zvýrazní to, co se děje na obrazovce. Bohužel hra dle mě ztrácí cenné body co se týče grafiky. Je totiž nutné zmínit to, že tenhle titul vyšel nejprve jako VR exkluzivita (nyní lze ale hrát i bez VR), tudíž je silně stylizovaná a v určitém ohledu bych se nebál ji označit až za primitivnějšího rázu. I přesto se však nejedná o něco, co by vás mělo nějak zaskočit. Hra si stále drží jistou stylizaci, která sem sedí. A pokud budete chtít, tak z obličejů postav vyčtete emoce, takže zde problém nevidím. Co ale asi odradí hodně případných hráčů bude poměr cena/délka hry. Já ji koupil za šest euro (zhruba 200 Kč) a nelituji. Jak jsem psal výše, první průchod všemi čtyřmi akty vám bude trvat něco kolem hodiny, ale poté se lze vracet do scén a v čase a prohlížet si i ostatní postavy, tudíž se to natáhne na nějakých šest hodin. Protože abyste pochopili, co se tu stalo a jak se vyvíjely vztahy mezi postavami, budete muset vidět každou důležitou scénu. Je to prostě jako skládačka, kdy máte hřiště a hledáte jednotlivé dílky. Ty poté skládáte dohromady, až si vytvoříte celkový obraz o tom, co se během těch čtyř aktů vlastně stalo v tomto panství.
Opravdu musím ještě jednou zmínit, jak moc je tahle hra, tenhle zážitek, unikátní. Celý první průchod jsem kvůli achievementu sledoval Gustava a byly tu části, kdy jen tak seděl a přemýšlel a nic se nedělo. A tak to je u všech postav. Ne každá dělá neustále něco zajímavého. A v tom i tkví ona krása celého toho zážitku. Musíte vyzobávat jednotlivé scény, hledat vodítka, spojovat si stopy a nahlížet na formování vztahů a celé si to tak nějak v hlavě pospojovat do jednoho logického celku. Není tu žádné závěrečné rozuzlení (kromě speciálního konce), žádná tečka za větou. Protože tu si musíte napsat sami. A představuji si, že to také může někoho zklamat. Ta hra totiž končí dost otevřeně a je jen na vás, co si z toho všeho vyvodíte. Ono proplétání osudů postav je ale fantastické a místy dost napínavé a celkově se jedná o (pro mě) fantastický zážitek. Ocitáte se zkrátka v onom panství. Jste přímo tam, ale jste pouze pozorovatelem veškerého dění, do kterého nemůžete nijak zasáhnout.
Co jiného mě ještě potěšilo? Je tu hromada úžasných detailů a odhalení, při kterých si řeknete „Aha!“ A pak začnete uvažovat nad určitými skutečnostmi jinak. Achievementy jsou celkem lehké a ponoukají vás k procházení hry. Stejně tak jednotlivé stopy, ať už v podobě novinových výstřižků nebo deníků Nikola Tesly jsou krátké, výstižné a čtivé. Není tu žádný balast, žádné tuny textu a toho si vážím. Díky tomu je prohledávání panství o to záživnější kratochvílí. Záhad tu je vícero, postupně se vám odkrývají další a potěšilo mě, že jejich vyřešení na sebe nenechá dlouho čekat a vše se uzavře. Konec mi přišel uspokojivý, ale opravdu to musíte hrát vícekrát, abyste se dobrali odpovědí na všechny vaše otázky. Bohužel ne vše bylo takové růžové a například menu je složitější, než by mělo být. Zapnutí V-Sync jde jen přes přepis souboru a odchod ze hry se provádí ne skrz menu, ale dveře v divadle, odkud vybíráte jednotlivé scény. Což vám ale nikdo neřekne. Hra je místy poplatná po designové stránce VR hodnotám a to se odráží na kvalitě některých prvků (menu nevyvoláte klávesou Esc, ale Enter; při každém zapnutí hry musíte procházet částí divadla atp.). Jsou to však drobnosti.

The Invisible Hours je unikátní zážitek, ne nepodobný divadelní hře, ve které jste vrženi mezi aktéry a na vás zbývá jen sledovat je a odkrývat jednotlivé části příběhu. Největším nepřítelem je rozhodně cena, ale pokud tuhle hru pořídíte za rozumnou částku, odvděčí se vám nezapomenutelným zážitkem. Tedy za předpokladu, že máte rádi detektivní příběhy a nevadí vám troška sci-fi.

Since Timeboat from The Under Presents, I've been craving another Immersive Theater experience. This was it.
I was engrossed in the story from start to finish. All of the characters felt real thanks to the impeccable voice acting and animation. Even with the absence of game elements/gameplay, I was deeply invested and immersed in this experience. Despite being a "ghost" which the characters do not acknowledge, I truly felt as if I was standing in the same room as the characters and experiencing the same emotions.
This was truly a hidden gem that greatly surprised me and I hope to find more experiences like this.
Sorry I'm not recommending this game as it's full of bugs I couldn't get the game to work at all as soon as I got to the ticket in the start of the game it crashed multiple times so not wasting my time with this game it's a shame I was looking forward to playing this game

You can move or teleport anywhere on the map, and watch any scene from any angle or distance. That's for the first 3 dimensions.
As for the 4th, you can also jump to any moment during the story, rewind, fast forward, or pause time while you move around.
It's the ultimate witness simulator. Or voyeur; you are here for blood and scandal, not for bird watching.
I was highly skeptical when I started, then found myself engrossed.
Terrific medium for storytelling indeed.
It works, not on the sole basis of its concept, but thanks to an intuitive, comfortable, quite impressive interface.
Also thanks to a story that, despite its contrivance, is catchy and suitably bespoke, with intense subplots and characters you'll want to follow individually.
And also thanks to an excellent delivery, both in animation and voicing.
Pure witness, you can't affect the story or the world. You'll need to watch someone open a box to be able to see what's inside. There are however many secrets for you to find.
Another must for the explorer type.
SPOILER-FREE REVIEW (Disclaimer: I played this in VR)
The Invisible Hours is a very enjoyable murder-mystery experience. I wouldn't call it much of a game, although I wouldn't call it a movie either. It's definitely more movie than game, though. As an omnipotent observer, you witness the events of a murder mystery as they occur, not interacting with any characters but simply watching their interactions with one another. There's no movie-style cuts, it all plays out as if you're there in the room watching it happen in real time. However, since you're only an observer, you can rewind or fast-forward time, as well as teleport freely around the mansion (no smooth locomotion option, sadly) or set the camera to follow a specific character. There's also various collectibles you can find, ranging from pieces of evidence to articles, photos, letters, etc. Scraps of lore, if only a small amount.
Each character, eight in total including the victim, has a backstory and a set path around the mansion, interacting with other characters and setting up various subplots. The acting is overall pretty damn good, and the story has plenty of engaging plot twists. There's much more to this story than "who killed the guy". The story's length depends on how deep you go into each subplot, I followed every character throughout each chapter, seeing just about all there is to see, and finished in about 5-6 hours. You don't watch and then decide who's the murderer, the story will reveal that at the end, but it is pretty entertaining seeing the characters become super confident about the wrong answer and/or gang up on each other for various reasons that I won't spoil.
Solid 8.5/10 experience, would recommend.
A VR adventure best played in desktop. The story is interesting & the way the player views the story by invisibly following the characters is neat, just doesn't seem to get much more from the game by playing in VR than in desktop. Still a good game though.
The perfect template for an interactive movie in VR, done in the style of Dinner & a Murder.
Game sells itself as a virtual theatre. And it doesn't lie. It's a theatre with pleasantly over-the-top murder mystery script and brilliantly acted bunch of eccentric characters. Dear poor Gustav...
I am 60 years old and so my review is perhaps more relevant to those of us bored with killing zombies and other FPS. If you want something that is enjoyable and not out to scare or kill you I highly recommend this. I bought it not expecting too much and was immediately surprised by the quality of the game. Having found the killer fairly early I was pleasantly surprised to find many other sub stories. I will continue to replay this and sincerely look forward to more like this.
Not for everyone but I am truly impressed how well they made the story move so simultaneously with all the characters. It is clearly a bad(ish) VR port, but I enjoyed playing this game while having friends watch me as we puzzle the story together.
