This game crosses a line that has nothing to do with entertainment. Using the Steam friends list for in-game reviews without permission is an absolute disgrace and mimics the behavior of malware. As a streamer, this was a disaster: I had to immediately kill my stream, take down the VOD, and run a virus scan because this intrusion happens without any warning. Anyone who values privacy and a clear boundary between a game and reality should avoid this title. A massive breach of trust that I cannot support under any circumstances.

Dass ungefragt die Steam-Freundesliste für In-Game-Reviews missbraucht wird, ist eine bodenlose Frechheit und wirkt wie das Verhalten von Schadsoftware. Ich musste meinen Stream sofort abbrechen und mein System auf Viren prüfen, weil dieser Eingriff in die Privatsphäre ohne jede Warnung erfolgt. Wer Wert auf Datenschutz und eine klare Trennung zwischen Spiel und Realität legt, sollte diesen Titel meiden. Ein massiver Vertrauensbruch, den ich unter keinen Umständen unterstütze.

Те кто играл в игры данного разработчика могут ожидать похожей истории и эффекта во время ее прохождения что и в других его играх, что не относится к минусам, а наоборот, показывает стиль который из раза в раз меняется и дополняется

Тут же все так-же на уровне, часть людей может отпугнуть довольно медленное начало, поэтому лучше влетать с определенным настроением для того что-бы лучше проникнуться атмосферой и историями персонажей и настоящей концовкой

It's a neat little project but definitely feels like a big slog compared to Mullens' other projects, which I played first. I didn't end up finishing it because it just was really losing me. I'm sure others might end up enjoying it but for myself I just couldn't enjoy it as much as Mullens' other stuff.

The Hex foi o segundo grande lançamento do desenvolvedor Daniel Mullins após o grande sucesso que foi Pony Island, e antes do sucesso ainda maior que foi Inscryption, o que pode ter feito com que esse jogo tenha ficado um pouco escondido nas sombras dos dois - o que é uma pena, pois ele é bem interessante e certamente merece ser conhecido.

O jogo aqui é uma homenagem e desconstrução de jogos de gêneros diferentes como jogos de plataforma, de luta e RPGs, incluindo personagens desses diferentes gêneros em uma narrativa de mistério. A premissa inicial é similar à de um whodunnit, porém aqui a trama não gira ao redor de resolver um assasinato, mas sim descobrir quem vai ser morto e quem vai ser o assassino. Ele funciona como uma desconstrução de narrativas de detetive também, então quem estiver esperando um mistério de assassinato tradicional pode se desapontar, mas o mistério em si do que está ocorrendo e da conexão entre os personagens é bem envolvente e interessante - e a resposta final de quem é morto e quem matou essa pessoa é morbidamente cômica e bem única.

Eu recomendo bastante The Hex para quem não souber nada sobre ele - quanto menos, melhor - e para fãs do resto do trabalho do desenvolvedor. Ele entrega uma experiência bem boa por conta própria, ainda melhor quando vista no contexto do resto dos jogos do Daniel Mullins, e ainda mais pra quem curte jogos com lore profunda e ARGs (eu pessoalmente não tenho paciência pra ir atrás dessas coisas hoje em dia, mas tem vídeos no YouTube explicando os inúmeros segredos escondidos desse jogo que eu recomendo muito).

一开始以为是各种各类型的4399小游戏合订本，之后发现剧情反复提到游戏制作者和游戏角色，就隐约猜到可能是类似“创作的角色活过来”之类的走向，不过结局比我想象的更震撼，尤其是最后虚实世界转换融合的部分，还有许多伏笔...游戏作者的设计真的太强了

有一两个地方可能会卡关，不过总体来讲可操作性很强，像我这种没耐心的纯笨蛋都能顺利通关，非常非常好的一款meta游戏

I saw this game before I had played Inscryption and made a pre-judgement on it due to art style, naturally I had to come back and see what it's all about- every Daniel Mullins game is actually 3+ games in a trenchcoat. Whilst a lot rougher around the edges than Inscryption, I really loved the format and fun metanarrative of the Hex. Each game segment was unique and whilst not always polished, offered a fun perspective that gradually built as the game went on to form a larger more complex picture. I am always impressed with how these games build on level design and mechanics to really create an interwoven experience. I enjoyed seeing references from Pony Island and recognising elements that would later appear in Inscryption! A neat little narrative game and a nice satire of game development :)

Hoje, olhando para trás, percebi que os jogos do Daniel Mullins são os jogos de terror que mais se aproximam da sensação de ler um livro de terror muito bom.
A maioria dos jogos de terror te ganha na [b] tensão: [/b] o medo de tomar um game over e começar tudo de novo, sendo o [b] horror [/b] (violência gráfica, coisas visualmente grotescas) e o [b] terror [/b] (um medo mais imaginativo, algo que provoca sua imaginação contra sua vontade, fica na sua cabeça e te assusta - como contar sobre um monstro para uma criança e ela não querer sair do quarto à noite com medo dele) sendo aspectos mais laterais e adicionais. Não que eu tenha problema com isso, adoro jogos que se baseiam na tensão (como por exemplo Corpse Party, Metroid Fusion, e até, em vários sentidos, Dark Souls), principalmente por ser algo bem característico de videogames, muito mais vívido nesse meio do que em outros meios de arte (a tensão de correr o risco de morrer no jogo e perder tudo dá é bem maior do que a tensão de correr o risco do seu personagem favorito morrer do filme será capaz de dar); a questão é que os jogos do Daniel Mullins conseguem se construir inteiramente sobre o [b] terror [/b], o que é simplesmente espetacular, e algo bem difícil de se fazer. Poucos outros jogos conseguiram me deixar tão preso e imaginativo quanto The Hex e Inscryption. Por mim, o Daniel Mullins vai pro Hall da fama dos escritores de terror contemporâneos, junto com pessoas como Joe Hill e Stephen King.
Mal posso esperar pelo Pony Island 2! Boto muita fé no trabalho desse cara.

Peguei esse jogo de brinde quando comprei o Inscryption, mas não tinha jogado ainda. O jogo é interessante, bem diferente. Mas ao invés de a gameplay ser envolta a partir de gameplay de um jogo de cartas, há diferentes seções para diferentes estilos de jogos. Não achei a gameplay tão divertida. Mas achei interessante o enredo do jogo no geral, principalmente o final. Se você jogou Inscryption, é no mesmo estilo.

今日有款遊戲想介紹下，呢款遊戲就係由製作邪惡冥刻、小馬島嘅獨立工作室Daniel Mullins Games所開發，一款後設偵探冒險遊戲，「六角疑雲The Hex」。玩完邪惡冥刻之後就深深愛上呢款卡牌遊戲，我都好有意欲玩返Daniel Mullins Games以往嘅作品，早排玩完小馬島之後，遊戲嘅表現令我相當驚喜，估唔倒街機遊戲可以用呢種方式呈現，亦令我更加期待六角疑雲嘅實際表現，到底今次Daniel Mullins Games又會用咩方式演繹一款偵探遊戲。

玩完之後，呢款遊戲真係好正，不論劇情定角色都好吸引，調查部分坦白講就一般般，但六位主角各自嘅遊玩部分都好好玩，雖然內容簡短，但設計上充滿心思，六個遊玩篇章都可以帶倒玩家完全唔同嘅體驗，遊戲嘅美術風格老實講就唔多靚，不過唔知點解越望就越俾呢種美術風格吸引住，唔少配樂都好好聽，六角疑雲嘅人氣度同討論度雖則就冇邪惡冥刻同小馬島咁高，但呢款遊戲嘅表現同樣都好優秀，呢款遊戲嘅整體表現我相當滿意，我自己都幾鍾意。

咁首先等我介紹下呢款遊戲嘅劇情啦，遊戲嘅舞台發生喺老舊嘅酒吧旅館「六品脱旅館」，六名早以被遺忘嘅遊戲角色因為各自理由以唔同身份聚首一堂，喺呢個雷電交加嘅晚上，一道電話打破咗片刻嘅寧靜，旅館酒保接獲消息，今晚將會有一個人被殺死，兇手不明、死者不明，於是六位遊戲角色就要喺一個晚上喺呢間旅館進行各種調查，誓要揾倒即將犯案嘅兇手，防止兇案嘅出現，咁到底兇手係邊個？喺酒吧旅館嘅呢一個晚上又會發生咩事？如有興趣就自己買嚟體驗下啦。呢款遊戲嘅劇本相當吸引，各種穿越唔同遊戲嘅情節不其然令人諗起無敵破壞王，亦勾起好多我玩唔同類型遊戲嘅回憶。以往大多遊戲都係站在玩家嘅角度嚟敍述遊戲嘅劇本，但呢款遊戲係以「遊戲角色」嘅視點/角度嚟敘述遊戲嘅劇本，感覺真係好有新鮮感。遊戲中各種打破第四面牆嘅橋段依舊睇到我相當過癮，尤其係睇住Steam中嘅好友化身成遊戲中嘅網友，感覺真係好有趣。隨住劇情發展將一步一步揭露故事背後嘅真相，以及一眾遊戲角色嘅過往經歷，而角色背後嘅關係都有啲令我幾意想不到，結局帶嚟嘅大反轉令我相當驚喜。六角疑雲當中嘅每個角色都充滿特色，玩嘅時候我都會好想知道佢哋嘅故事，例如過氣嘅遊戲明星黃鼠狼小子、嚟自烹飪遊戲嘅格鬥家布萊斯、唔希望拯救世界嘅女術士尚德蕾爾、愛子心切嘅槍手魯斯特、渴求揾倒寶藏嘅太空戰士拉撒路、沉默寡言嘅？？？以及神秘嘅酒保等等。

而家等我介紹下呢款遊戲嘅玩法啦，喺呢間老舊嘅酒吧旅館，玩家需要扮演六位遊戲角色進行一系列操作。六位角色都會接獲酒保嘅要求喺呢間旅館進行各種調查，坦白講調查嘅部分就冇乜特別，都係簡單嘅物件互動，遊戲中後期就會有解謎嘅部分，雖然唔會話好困難，但亦有一定挑戰性，感覺幾好玩。當每個角色都完成調查嘅部分之後，就會進入回憶篇，回憶篇簡單嚟講就係體驗六位遊戲角色嚟自嘅遊戲，黃鼠狼小子嘅超級黄鼠狼小子就係平台跳躍遊戲，布萊斯嘅格鬥競技場X就係橫向格鬥遊戲，尚德蕾爾嘅傳奇大陸之謎就係回合制冒險遊戲，魯斯特嘅廢土世界就係戰略遊戲，拉撒路嘅險惡星系係俯視式射擊遊戲，至於？？？嘅遊戲涉及劇透我就唔透露啦，遊戲中呢六款嘅遊戲嘅內容雖則簡短，但當中每款遊戲都帶俾我好豐富、好唔同嘅體驗，當然就冇得同類型嘅遊戲比較啦，但設計上可以話充滿心思，真係好好玩，個人最鍾意就係廢土世界。遊戲中玩家可以透過各種特殊嘅條件，喺呢六款遊戲當中獲得推理真相嘅線索，但呢啲特殊條件唔睇攻略嘅情況下都幾難觸發倒，加上呢啲線索係會提早劇透咗一啲重要嘅情報，所以建議各位一周目嘅時候都係順住基本流程走落去，二周目唔知倒特殊條件點觸發到時再睇攻略。

六角疑雲嘅美術風格坦白講稱唔靚，甚至有啲簡陋，相信唔少玩家都因為呢種美術風格而卻步，但玩完呢款遊戲就會明白係得呢種美術風格適合遊戲嘅內容同埋主題，而且呢種咁有特色嘅美術風格越望就越順眼。遊戲中每個場景都充滿特色，令人印象深刻，例如老舊旅館、奇幻大陸、荒廢沙漠、外太空基地等等。呢款遊戲唔少配樂都好好聽，而六位遊戲角色嘅遊戲配樂都有住唔同風格，設計上可以話充滿心思。

總括嚟講，呢款遊戲真係好正，不論劇情定角色都好吸引，調查部分坦白講就一般般，但六位主角各自嘅遊玩部分都好好玩，雖然內容簡短，但設計上充滿心思，六個遊玩篇章都可以帶倒玩家完全唔同嘅體驗，遊戲嘅美術風格老實講就唔多靚，不過唔知點解越望就越俾呢種美術風格吸引住，唔少配樂都好好聽。以往大家提到Daniel Mullins Games都會聯想起邪惡冥刻同小馬島，而往往忽略咗六角疑雲，邪惡冥刻毫無疑問係最具創意、最驚喜，小馬島就係最令人眼前一亮，但論劇本反而我最鍾意係六角疑雲，呢款遊戲嘅表現同樣都好優秀，值得大家關注留意，呢款遊戲同樣我都好推薦，鍾意邪惡冥刻、鍾意小馬島嘅朋友絕對唔可以錯過。

I love a good murder mystery. After playing Inscryption and seeing good things about The Hex, I picked this up a month ago.

I don't think the game focuses too much on the murder mystery aspect, but more on what the developer is known for; varied gameplay, an interesting plot, and meta elements.

I enjoyed it very much, and I'd recommend this as a game that has to be experienced at least once. I wish there was more game at the end. I wanted to know more about the lore and whether or not they tie into Pony Island and Inscryption, but that just makes me more excited for whether or not these things will be clarified in future games.

Game also works fine on the steamdeck!

虽然内含很多不同类型的玩法，但游戏难度上确实有所调整无论哪种不算难操作。但是只推荐键鼠，我一周目手柄打完的血压超高，按键适配做得太差了，鼠标的替代触感超烂，而且做一些成就的时候必须用到没适配的键盘按键，索性就直接切电脑了。

重复一遍，手柄能玩但推荐键鼠。

严格来说这个游戏的成就更像是制作组设置的各种小彩蛋有待玩家自行发掘。虽然通关后可以读档但实际收集起来依旧繁琐，我真是收集得头都大了。

以及社区的中文指南做得好零碎，按单个成就而非游戏时间线排序就导致需要不停地来回读档，好多不必要的重复真的心累。如果全搞完我还有心情的话看要不要重新写个全成就指南（虽然大概率会血压到不想再打开）。

The Hex is yet another game that showcases Daniel Mullins’ brilliance and makes my anticipation for Pony Island 2 sky-high. Don’t let the point-and-click adventure style put you off at first, because the story’s development quickly pulls you in. It’s hard to talk about this game without spoilers, so I’ll stick to a strong recommendation and say that I absolutely loved the sections involving the third, fourth, and fifth characters. Honestly, much like in UFO 50, it’s amazing to see how talented developers can take small ideas or mechanics and turn them into such compelling, standalone-worthy games. As a minor criticism, I felt the final section was on track to wrap up the story in a very strong and clear way, but a last-minute twist ended up leaving me a bit confused. 10 - Must-play

A very good six-in-one, featuring all sorts of different narratives & stories about games.

How the first game. made with care & passion, is loved by the majority who play it. The sequel, however, doesn't have the same feel, & fails a little, then the third one just ruins it completely.

How a corporation who own a game character can just take them from what they're used to & forced them into something they're not, as well as making them unbalanced & overpowered to the point they have to remove them.

How experienced players, who've played hundreds of action turn-based RPGs, know the ins and outs, the hows and whats, yet always suffer an annoyingly long unskippable 30 minute tutorial & just want to get into it. Though, having seen what becomes of sequels made without care & passion, the in-game characters would rather see their worlds destroyed & game ruined than have it be ruined by mobile playing corpos who don't even know what RPG stands for. This one I liked the most, just the main character being done with it all.

How developers abandoning a game that many quite liked will cause some within the community to take it into their hands & put it together, which then causes the developer to issue a cease & desist, while also making the game completely broken by mods.

This is as far as I got, cause that damn radworm monster boss thing was too annoying.

Is this worth it? Absolutely

Эта игра просто напичкана отсылками на культовые игры и фильмы (а иногда проскакивают библейские темы и темы из книг английской классики 20 века). Я дропал игру из-за первых двух глав, потому что я не фанат платформеров и файтингов. Вернулся через 1.5 года, благо прогресс сохранился. Доиграл в один присест. Как же круто завернулся сюжет, да и дальше был геймплей стратегий и пошаговых боев.

[h2] Плюсы [/h2]
1) Тут явно выделяется музыка. В каждой главе она идеально подходит к фону. Также классно она меняется на противоположную в нужные моменты сюжета. Что значит противоположная музыка. Я имею ввиду, что меняется ритм и эмоции, которая несет в себе музыка.
2) Явно здесь опять проделки с сюжетом затеял автор. Вначале как обычно ничего непонятно. Ты сидишь, выкупая отсылки и долго передвигаясь. Но сюжет как снежный ком все растет, как и интерес к нему.
3) Прекрасная локализация.
4) Чел продешевил с ценой. 5 часов за 259 рублей. Это цена хуевого хоррора на юнити.
5) Есть с десяток смешных моментов.

[h2] Минусы [/h2]
1) ♥♥♥♥♥, как же долго ходят персонажи, я успел постареть на год, пока проходил игру.
2) Глава файтинга и платформера как по мне были дольше, чем остальные главы. ♥♥♥♥♥ затея, как по мне. Хотя не исключаю, что я просто долго не мог понять как пройти.

8/10, сейчас я посмотрел кто разраб. Удивился, а потом рассмеялся. Это тот чел, что сделал inscryption. Тогда все для меня встало на места. Почерк автора это долгое начало и невъебенный конец.

This game is an absolute masterclass and it's a damn shame the reviews aren't overwhelmingly positive. I disagree with the majority of negative reviews, and quite a number of them make the massive mistake of comparing it to Inscryption. I'll explain why thats a mistep and undersells how valuable the experience of playing this game, but my personal opinion is that this was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. The graphics were nostalgic and inspired, the story is amazing, and the gameplay was fun at worst, worthy of stand-alone releases at its best (looking at you Waste-World).

Tl;DR
Gameplay - Varied and fun, homages to early new grounds games.
Graphics - Dependant on the scenario but faithful to the vibe that those early games would capture. A mixture of 3d and 2d design, full of colour (or at times atmosphere)
Sound - The music rocks, I never felt like any of the tracks were annoying to listen to over and over. Fun background tracks that exceutate the experience, with a variety of fun sound effects.
Story - Seriously, check it out for yourself ahahaha, even if any of the above features weren't as good as they were I'd recommend it mostly for this part alone.

[h3] Please note, there will be minor spoilers. The experience is best enjoyed as novelly as possible. If you're into games that have a rich narrative and have the attention span to make it there, you'll know why its the game I gift friends on halloween. [/h3]

[h1] Why the comparison to Inscryption isn't fair [/h1]

Inscryption was a mega fun game. I also believe that game to be a 10/10 experience from start to finish, and I played the Hex after playing Inscryption first. Being the 3rd work in the series and having the backing of Devolver Digital, the team had not only more experience but a much larger budget and development team to work with (you can compare the credits for both games, most of the team for the Hex were playtesters). This is the main reason why saying this game is bad because its less fun that Inscryption isn't fair. If I was trapped in a room for a year and had only one game, the replay value of Inscryption (especially with Kaycee's mod now) is substantially higher.

The Hex is an amazing game, as I'll go on to describe further. I'll concede some negative qualities; it's not as impressive graphically as inscryption, there's a lot more replay value baked into the story and learning everything rather than raw enjoyment of the games themselves, and the wide net it casts feels like it might've detracted from the quality of any individual moment. However, I wouldn't say I ever felt like the game wasted my time on accident.

Now to actually talk about The Hex.

[h1] Gaming. So much gaming. [/h1]

One of the best parts about Mario games was put best by videogamedunkey in his video on Super Mario Galaxy, "a lesser game would crumble under the weight of so many ideas but mario galaxy nimbly glides through them like the matrix". A lot of Mario games share that quality where, in comparison to a lot of games released these days, it really felt like multiple games packed into one with how many ideas they would just throw at you, just for a level or 2 maybe. And maybe you'd see it again in another level later and they're using it in a new way.

This is an element of game-design that I think all games should aspire to, and the Hex nails it for me. I'm not going to compare The Hex to Mario (not after the entire preamble about inscryption ahahaha), but where I'm going with this is that The Hex isn't just one game that you play from start to finish, same controlls, same aesthetics, but it's actually a collection of various homages to online web-games, like early newgrounds. I was astounded the first time I played through this game by just how many ideas they packed into it, it didn't even feel like I was playing the same game I started by the end of it. I didn't know what to expect going in, just that it was made by the same genius behind Inscryption, so it blew me away. They packed so much gameplay into one game that it keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire way through. The game never feels the need to rub anything cool in your face, never feels the need to be satisfied until it reaches the end.

[h1] Graphics, not as much to say since you can just have a look for yourself above [/h1]

There's not much to say that isn't revealed by the gallery above. The art design varies in detail, perspective and dimension depending on the situation. It faithfully captures the aesthetic of those older games, giving the game an odd sense of familiarity to anyone who played those older games. This may be one of the reasons I've seen people calling the design bland or bad at times, it's certainly not LA Noire but I think the faces are expressive enough.

[h1] Music and Sound [/h1]

The music in this game sound a lot to add to the experience, as it should with any solid video game soundtrack. Composer Jonah Senzel knew exactly how to curate the vibe to really suck the player into the experience. Every game has a variety of different tracks to suite the game, totalling to 32 total songs in the OST, and its astounding the range that gets covered. All my praises of the music also extend to the sound effects, made by the same guy (MOSTLY, see full credits for extra sfx used).

The graphics and the sound both come together in a really nice way. As i've said a few times in this review already, the artists who made this game new very well the aesthetic they were trying to capture and only break that feeling of nostalgia to improve on it.

[h1] The Story [/h1]

If you're unfamiliar with other titles by DMG, first, go play Inscryption it's very solid. Pony Island is also very good but I can't recommend that one as much. Second, the story tends to be a very important element of these games. For The Hex, this is actually a component of the game I think is [b]better in The Hex than it is in Inscryption.[/b] The story The Hex delves deeper into the cast present than Inscryption did, it's much more character-driven in terms of how the story operates.

The story itself is litered with cool subtext about the video games industry, and about how cynical and corporate video games have become at the cost of their 'soul'. There may or may not also be a [spoiler]metanarrative that is ultimately about trying to kill the cruel god who made you only to abandon you[/spoiler]. It's really something else, and it might not click for players immediately what they're engaging with until about halfway through (as was the case for me).

[h1] Final Thoughts [/h1]

DMG killed it with this one, man I'm so excited for Panda Circus. Pick a copy of this title up, play it through to the end and enthral yourself in one of the most engaging and creative indie story games I've played.

Having played Inscryption, Pony Island, and most recently The Hex; I can now say with confidence that I will play literally anything Daniel Mullins makes. Such unique and entertaining games and characters. I love the variety of styles within them, and how they still cohere and serve the overall narrative and storyline. Everything is so consistent in quality in these games, and that's the highest compliment I can think of.
