What's here is small and short, make no mistake. But don't confuse 'short' for 'poorly made'. The Dweller is a reverse-horror puzzle game that features you, as an earth-bound spectre that can possess stone objects, seeking a way to kill or scare off all the archaeologists and agents in a room.
What makes it interesting is that while you have free movement within the terrain, open air is impassable to you, in an inversion of the usual way things work. To cross open space, you can possess and animate boulders, slabs, and pillars and move them around, but they're subject to gravity and you can't move them upward. You'll need to use these stone features to transport yourself and bridge gaps to reach your targets - or, for the clever, perhaps drop these weighty objects atop them, or even scare them over a cliff to a lethal fall below!
Fortunately, if you mess up, retries are infinite - a press of the R key will reset the level for you to try again, and you can return to the level select from the ESC menu at any time. In a pinch, you can skip a stage that's giving you trouble, but many of the stages are designed to build on the concepts of stages before them; skipping an intermediate stage may put you a harder stage that's more difficult to solve. Stages are very short - while there's a total of 59 of them, once you know the solution, most stages can be finished in under two minutes.
There is a brief story, told through written logs and letters by the archaeological team that you will obtain as you complete stages. I'm not terribly fond of the ending, but it does serve as a potential sequel hook.
All in all, given the price I certainly can't complain. It's much better made than I thought it'd be.

Neste jogo tu é um monstro sombroso e pode mudar de forma (assumindo a forma de uma boca para estraçalhar os invasores) , geralmente tu não pode sair da escuridão , talvez seja sensível a luz , então tu entra dentro de pedras grandes e usa elas como passagem de um canto até outro , de uma parede até outra distante.

Сложность в том, что монстр может передвигаться только сквозь пещерные глубины, внутри камня. Но благо, что по уровням разбросаны небольшие камешки (Нам дали камни!), в которых наше чудище забирается и даже может передвигаться, а также двигать соседние камни. Так и подбираемся к людям, чтобы вылезти и съесть, ну или раздавить камнем, а можем просто напугать, чтобы они сами нашли свою судьбу, упав куда-нибудь, заодно запустив цепную реакцию из прочих напуганных. Параллельно читаем истории археологов, что помогает понять сюжет. Позднее, благодаря каменным высоким технологиям, мы сможем даже перемещаться между отдельными частями пещеры, а где-то и вовсе летать везде и всюду, но тогда и у людей окажется оружие. Уровни, кстати, можно и пропустить, а ещё вести свой счёт как ты, глубинное нечто, изгнало людишек. С удовольствием защитил свои пещеры и выполнил все достижения!
A well rounded game overall. It took be about 2 hours to complete the full game, including all the achievements.
Its a game where you are an earth spirit rampaging against intruding archaeologists. You use the environment around you to reach and kill enemies or to traverse to different platforms on the level.
I have to say that some of the puzzles did stump me and I needed to look to friends, family or the internet for help. It has 59 individual levels with 26 lore related book pages for you to play and read respectively.

The game may not be a high budget masterpiece, it might look like it came from a 48 hours game jam, but it is a legitimate game. There's a lot of text-based lore if you're into that of the "found diary" variety. The first few levels feel like a prototype but after level 5 or so they're actually decent puzzles.
Yep: this reverse horror, monster simulator is in fact a puzzle game. It solves the issue of being an invincible creature by putting the challenge in puzzles. Most games become boring when you are invincible and the dev solved that problem.

The Dweller se divide en distintos niveles donde nuestro principal objetivo será acabar con todos los arqueólogos antes de que escapen por alguna salida. Para ello tendremos que resolver una serie de rompecabezas, los cuales consisten en escenarios compuestos por secciones de tierra, en los cuales podremos hacer aparecer la criatura y desplazarnos con el cursor del ratón. Podemos poseer rocas y movernos con ellas, una acción necesaria para cambiar entre parches de tierra que no estén conectados. Para matar a los arqueólogos simplemente tendremos que aproximarnos a ellos por tierra para devorarlos o caer sobre ellos mientras poseemos alguna roca. Si nos ven, saldrán corriendo despavoridos, pudiendo precipitarse desde una gran altura y morir también. La dificultad radica en poseer las rocas para desplazarnos por el escenario en el orden adecuado, evitando dejar algún arqueólogo con vida o que escape de nuestras fauces. Poco a poco los niveles irán complicándose, necesitando múltiples pasos para acabarlos con éxito. Su apartado gráfico, pixelart, es bastante simple y monótono, con colores apagados y poca variedad de diseños y escenarios.

Juego bastante sencillo y breve, pero entretenido, con un lore interesante al que se le saca poco partido. Su punto más flojo es sin duda el apartado visual, tremendamente aburrido y poco trabajado, con escenarios muy similares y poca variedad de diseño. Sin embargo, no quita que el juego esté bien planteado, ya que el concepto de los puzzles está bien y ofrece 2-3 horas de entretenimiento. Aunque aparece alguna mecánica nueva a mitad del juego, como los teletransportes, se echa de menos la introducción de algún otro concepto en el transcurso de la aventura que refresque la continua secuencia de puzzles, muy similares entre ellos.

Геймплей строится вокруг того, чтобы использовать свои способности для перемещения по стенам и устранять вторгающихся людей. Задача усложняется из-за их ловкости и расположения уровней. На первых этапах было интересно продумывать стратегии и искать идеальные пути, чтобы поймать всех людей.
Однако со временем игра начала терять свою привлекательность. Уровни стали однообразными, а решения к головоломкам повторялись. Мне не хватило сложности и разнообразия. Противники тоже не особо развивались — ни тактики, ни новых типов персонажей.
Графика минималистичная и пиксельная, что само по себе не проблема, но визуальный стиль получился слишком мрачным и однообразным. В итоге через пару часов глаза начали уставать, и атмосфера перестала цеплять.

The game description was really interesting.
The game itself end up as a very boring puzzle :(
The game itself proposes to be a monster eating all the Indiana Jones fаgts, bothering your monster life. Truly said I expected at least some chasing action, with blood and gore and scared people, but after all, this is a PURE puzzle game, and dead guys are not fun to chase because it's nothing but the animation, not a real chase. Barrels rolling to the stars on the ground? There is no HUNTING action at ALL. The story provided by the unlocked notes is not helping as well.
If you want another puzzle game - this game probably will be good for you, I got bored of the same mechanics after like 15-20 levels.
If you want to be a cave monster eating people - not the best game for you.

Esse é daqueles estilo "Spelunky", só que nesse jogo você é uma criatura das trevas que terá desafios/puzzles para conseguir se livrar dos arqueólogos que estão escavando suas catacumbas.
É simples, divertido, não exige tanta atenção assim, da pra jogar ouvindo um podcast ou fazendo alguma outra atividade e a platina é rapidinha.

The Dweller es un juego indie de puzzles, correcto y entretenido pero con una duración de entre una hora y media y dos horas. Si bien las mecánicas no están mal y el diseño de los 59 niveles es aceptable, su duración es tan escasa que apenas puedo recomendarlo. Su historia, contada a través de cartas que vas desbloqueando conforme avanzas, le dan algo de interés a la historia. Al final, su dinamismo producto de una escasa dificultad que evita que te quedes bloqueado en un mismo nivel durante demasiado tiempo, hacen que le suba un poco la nota final, porque resulta entretenido a pesar de hacerse realmente corto.

The Dweller is a short challenging puzzle game with an interesting premise where you are an ancient entity disturbed by archeologists and need to get rid of them for defiling your home, unfortunately you are bound to the earth and boulders limited in movement and need to carefully figure out how to deal with the trespassers.
There is a story you can piece together as you complete levels and it is an interesting little side extra that scratches that itch of wanting to know more of the entity and background of the world.
[b]Gameplay[/b]
Gameplay is quite straightforward and you are eased into the mechanics and limitations to better understand what you can and can't do and the methods that are available to completing levels. As it is a puzzle game you will need to think carefully to your movements and where to move boulders in order to reach all the archeologists to move on to the next level.
Most of the time you are likely to devour the archeologists or crush them with boulders but you are actually not required to kill them but simply get rid of them as scaring them off levels is also possible.
Achievements aren't too difficult to complete and you'd likely get them all by the end of the game.

На удивление сложная головоломка, большинство уровней которой имеет ровно одно правильное решение - и на его поиск может уйти куча времени. Само решение обычно обнаруживается путем перебора различных тактик прохождения и различных мест для "спауна" монстра, который может двигаться только под землей или переселяться в камни.
На протяжении первых тринадцати уровней The Dweller трудно назвать "затягивающей" - куда легче "фрустрирующей" - однако вызов, который она бросает игроку, является одновременно серьезным и справедливым, и поэтому к ней хочется возвращаться несмотря на десятки бесплодных попыток пройти уровень. По идее, разобравшись в правилах игры, вы должны заранее продумать план действий таким образом, чтобы сожрать всех археологов, не оказавшись при этом в участке карты, который никак не связан с остальными участками (выходом из этой ситуации будет лишь перезапуск уровня). На практике решение обычно оказывается настолько многоходовым, что просчитать его заранее оказывается крайне трудно, и игра становится напряженной: одна ошибка - и все достижения пойдут насмарку (естественно, если вы вообще все делали правильно).
Как игру The Dweller можно разделить на две части: первую (13 "вводных" уровней) можно назвать трудной и не очень увлекательной в плане самого геймплея, но к ней хочется возвращаться каждый раз, когда вас посетила новая идея о том, как решить задачку и пройти уровень. В качестве челленджа ее можно рекомендовать всем любителям инди-паззлов со стажем - однако для большинства игроков она, скорее всего, окажется слишком сложной. Вторая часть, внезапно, становится заметно легче - многие уровни такого типа разработчики обычно ставят в начало игры, а не в середину. В третьей части автор и вовсе забывает о наработках первых двух, позволяя монстру свободно летать по карте, но вводя врагов, способных его уничтожить - в The Dweller неожиданно появляются экшн-элементы (вроде необходимости быстро двигать курсором, подгадав нужный момент), а потом она... заканчивается.
Итого, пройти игру можно примерно за три часа - первые полтора, скорее всего, будут фрустрирующими и тяжелыми. Тем, кто осилит игру после тринадцатого уровня, откроется большее разнообразие в плане геймплея (а также, субъективно, более простые задачки) - главный вопрос заключается в том, как много игроков смогут это сделать, не окончив свое знакомство с The Dweller rage quit'ом.
Вывод: подходит для любителей действительно хардкорных паззлов с поначалу неочевидными правилами. Возможно, она не стоит заявленных 2.99$. Возможно, с точки зрения игроков, которым не нравится двадцать минут ломать голову для того, чтобы пройти один уровень, она не стоит и 0.29$, за которые я приобрел ее по скидке - впрочем, после того, как я перетерпел первые тринадцать уровней (самая суть The Dweller, остальное можно считать бонус-материалами, потому что их сложность зачастую уступает "начальным" уровням), я понял, что остался ей вполне доволен.

A different puzzle game. Instead of playing with an adventurer exploring an ancient site, you play with the monster that dwells in that site, and you have to eat the adventurers. The more advanced levels require some thinking, but the game is not too hard and it feels awesome to play as the monster.

花了几个小时玩了一下还挺好玩的，有剧情有解谜，最后还会让你小爽一下。
不会太简单，也会有稍微难一点的，不过也不会太难，想一下都能解开。最后还会给你几关让你不需要解密直接杀杀杀爽一下

Was wie ein Rammstein-Songtext anmutet, ist das Spielprinzip, mit dem [i]The Dweller[/i] seit 2016 die Spieler als angsteinflößendes Monster Archäologen fressen, zerquetschen und erschrecken lässt. Ein Indie-Puzzler, dessen Thema mich als Archäologen neugierig machte und in seinen 50 Levels hunderte meiner Berufskollegen auslöschen lies – eine faszinierende Beschäftigung, die Genugtuung brachte ;-).
[b]Mampfendes Spielprinzip[/b]
Wir sind also das durch die Ausgrabung und die Forschenden erweckte Monster, das sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die Eindringlinge zu zerstören. Das erledigen wir durch eine Puzzlemechanik, bei der wir mit der Maus festlegen, in welchem Erdbereich unser Monster startet, um die auf dem Screen verteilten Archäologen zu erreichen. Weiterhin können wir „in Steine fahren“, um Distanzen zurückzulegen und gegen Ende zudem Einfallstore verteilen.

Die Schwierigkeit der Puzzles ist etwas unausgewogen. Ich habe schon an sehr frühen Level gehangen, während spätere dann nur so dahinflogen – insgesamt sollte man sein Hirn aber gebrauchen zu wissen, um erfolgreich zu sein. Unausgewogen ist auch das Einführen neuer Fähigkeiten: Während wir es fast 2/3 des Spiels mit den gleichen Mechaniken zu haben, kommen in den letzten Level gleich mehrere neue hinzu, mit denen man gerne etwas länger gespielt hätte.
[b]Quetschende Story[/b]
Aufgelockert werden die Puzzle-Screens durch gut geschriebene Tagebuch-Schnipsel der Beteiligten, die die jeweilige Sicht auf das Geschehen schildern. Und das wirklich atmosphärisch, sodass hier der Grusel greifbar wird. Ob das Ganze wirklich noch eine Fortsetzung bekommt, bezweifle ich zwar, immerhin war es aber einmal angedacht.
[b]Zertrümmerte Augen[/b]
Ich sag mal zwei Worte: Total Indie. Das heißt funktionable, aber einfache Grafik mit wenig Details, alles eben auf die Spielmechanik fokussiert. Und das funktioniert. Ähnliches könnte man über Sound und anderes sagen; aber für ein ungezwungenes, simples Puzzle-Spiel für ca. 4-5 Stunden braucht es das auch nicht.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Отличная головоломка с очень подходящим ей визуальным стилем! Было интересно проходить каждый из уровней, особенно учитывая то, что почти всегда есть не только один вариант его решения. И что, понимая и пользуясь данными игрой механиками, можно проходить одни и те же уровни совершенно разными путями. Очень понравилось и хочется ещё. Как говорится: "Вкусно, но грустно. Но вкусно."
pretty good little puzzle game
This is a puzzle game in a different style. You are a monster and have to kill all the archaeologists by eating them or kill them with rocks. Most levels are pretty easy to figure out, some are a little bit more challenging. Took me about 2,5 hours to finish the game.
I wouldn't pay full price for it, picked it up in a bundle, when it is with more than 80% discount it's worth it.

Un puzzle game piuttosto originale e particolare, alcuni livelli sono piuttosto duri ma alla fin fine con un po' di tentativi si riesce sempre a passarli. Lo avevo lasciato a metà e l'ho finito volentieri, sono 59 livelli non sono tantissimi ma sufficienti a tenere l'interesse vivo, simpatica la storia che accompagna il gioco da leggere sbloccando i vari livelli.
Rocas que podes mover para aplastar arqueologos o para que les caigan encima, si los asustas con la roca se pueden ir corriendo y caerse y morirse por altura los arqueologos.
Sos un mounstruo que tiene que ir devorando o matando arqueologos que te perturban, no podes saltar el mounstruo entre los diferentes fragmentos de roca, si no es viajando a traves de piedras moviles (podes saltar entre piedras al espiritu y tambien empujar otras piedras con la que estas moviendo) que moves con el mouse entrando dentro al espiritu mounstruo (Cuanto mas lejos pones tu mouse mas rapido se mueven las piedras), Muchas veces tenes que armar como torres de piedras para alcanzar otro monticulo de tierra y asi trasladar al espiritu del mounstruo.
hay algunas como trampillas que te permiten (en niveles mas avanzados) teletransportarte hacia otro monticulo de tierra con el mounstruo y seguir desde ahi (Hay tambien monolitos que te permiten a gusto y placer colocar trampillas teletransportadoras en donde quieras para vos ver como queres moverte, no estan en todos los niveles y tienen usos limitados).
Existe por ultimo un monolito rojo malevolo que te permite moverte por todo el mapa y matar a todo ser vivo (aca aparecen soldados que si te ven te disparan y tecnicamente perdes el nivel y volves a empezar, pero con ocultarte en la tierra e ir comiendolos por los pies de a 1 es muy facil)
buena musica, sonidos, ambientacion, graficos, Ingenioso el estilo de jugabilidad, la historia simple pero intrigante: Arqueologos entran a buscar algo a tu guarida y tenes que vengarte.
Es Excelente el juego, es una pena que no tenga WORKSHOP porque es brutal!!

The Dweller é um jogo com gráficos bastante simples, por ser bem antigo, o jogo de início pode parecer chato, mas os puzzles conseguem ser bastante divertidos e "difíceis", já que em várias fases ocorrem alguns glitches e então, o pensamento de "isso foi muito malfeito" ou "essa fase é impossível" acabam sendo bem presentes durante a gameplay, recomendo o jogo caso ele esteja com 90% de desconto, vai levar um pouco de tempo para zerar se não decidirem pular nenhuma fase.
Puzles entretenidos, cantidad de niveles decente y logros fáciles.
Habe das Spiel für 0,49 € im Sale ergattert.
Bei dem Preis kann man nichts falsch machen.
Frust kam bei den Puzzles so gut wie nicht auf und ich wurde für gute 2 Stunden ordentlich unterhalten.

人会被近处的动静惊动，怪物可以在移动的石头上移动等给这个游戏添加了灵活性，这是非常有意思的地方。
解谜难度整体简单，但也有难的关卡。部分关卡设计得很好，基于一个解谜原理，又在难度上层层递进。
最后倒也没有过于简单完全是虐杀，小人的动态朝向可能做得不太好，有时候朝向的是不需要思考的有利方向。
