Сюжет игры довольно интересный с своеобразный в стиле ацтеков и инопришеленцев, но тот факт что вам придется искать секреты по карте тупо тыкаясь в каждый угол это очень грустно, в игре куча невидимых стен что усугубляют этот процесс. Что касаемо головоломок, то они все очень слабые, за всю игру только 2-3 меня заинтересовали, остальные либо долгие, либо скучные, механика с шаром по началу меня порадовала, но в итоге она вообще никак не изменится с первых кадров игры. Противники в игре одинаковые по сути своей, и ничего страшного в них нет, со временем ничего кроме раздражения лично у меня они не вызывали. Из плюсов могу отметить атмосферу в начале игры, и некоторых локаций ближе к концу, и сюжет, мне вправду было интересно узнать историю народа, полный рассвет и крах самой развитой части человечества, но я ни на секунду не задумываюсь о том чтобы перепройти всю игру заново чтобы открыть все секретки и узнать всю историю, мне жалко своего времени.

The Ball is an oldschool physics puzzler/adventure where your only tool is a big metal ball — and your only plan is “roll over it until it works.”

Pros:

Infelizmente, a única coisa positiva desse jogo é a ideia diferente de você sair por aí controlando uma bola gigante, que é a chave de tudo para o jogo — inclusive sua arma. Todo o restante é muito simples, até para jogos indie, mas os comandos da bola gigante funcionam muito bem. O que, se levar em conta como tudo no jogo é simples e reciclado, é impressionante.

Vale uma ressalva que a história final do jogo até que foi legal, diferente de todo o restante.

Довольно-таки хорошая игра, проходить ее вполне себе имеет смысл)

Мы играем за археолога, который имеет в распоряжении железный шар и устройство, что может его притягивать или толкать. Геймплей будет состоять в прохождении локаций путем решения головоломок и убийств врагов при помощи шара)

Как головоломка игра хорошая, тут задания решаются путем использования законов физики, логики и внимательности. Но при этом хочу отметить что задания не сложные, адекватные + можно вызвать подсказку. Часами мучаться с решениями вам не прийдётся. Если хотите на казуалычах пробежать головоломку - то это, то что нужно!

Еще отмечу что здесь очень приятные и атмосферные локации, с интересной архитектурой. От пещер и гробниц, до целых поселений и пирамид в репертуаре инков, майя, ацтеков. Некоторые локации прям вызвали "Вау!". Хоть графика в игре и не самая лучшая, но лицезреть это все было приятно.

Ну и упомяну то что наш геймплей будут делать веселее нападающие враги в виде оживших мумий и жуков, которых мы будем давить шариком, наслаждаясь звуком хруста, а так же рептилоиды/ануннаки к которым уже прийдётся подбирать креативный подход.
Сражения не сложные и приятно дополняют игру, делают локации и прохождения интересней.

Так же в игре есть секреты и таблички с повествованиями, которые рассказывают местную историю и что там чудили древние люди.

И отмечу что тут есть отдельный режим "выживание", где на разных картах можно сражаться полчищами [strike]хрустиков[/strike] врагов которые лезут изо всех щелей. Что тоже доставляет веселье.

Вобщем игра хорошая, приятно было ее проходить и конечно же могу порекомендовать :)

Comprei The Ball por causa de uma conquista de Killing Floor. Assim que você adquire The Ball vai ser liberada a skin Harchier Spebbington II (a skin 1 não tá mais disponível pois era exclusiva da pré-venda). Com essa skin você precisa vencer uma partida rápida no Inferno, pronto!

Caso você esteja participando da comunidade "Não sei mais o que fazer no Orkut", opa, na Steam, The Ball é uma excelente opção pra você aproveitar, uma joia!

Na promoção fica na casa dos 3 dólares brazileiros, mais barato que isso só uma cervejinha Glacial.

[b]Gameplay e conquistas[/b]
Você pode jogar a campanha e, se tiver a fim, pegar as conquistas, dá pra pegar o perfeito, mas com demanda.

A sugestão é você jogar a campanha sem ligar muito pras conquistas, até pra aproveitar. Não se utilize também de muitos guias, vai ser necessário, obviamente, em algum momento pra resolver puzzle, mas só quando for necessário mesmo.

A maioria das conquistas de The Ball são contagens, portanto quando você terminar a campanha vai tá um bom número, precisando só completar. Uma delas é matar macaquinhos, e acho que não fecha na primeira jogada. Outra são os segredos, aqui você também pode procurar explorar um pouco o mapa, mas só vá procurar tudo no segundo gameplay.

A campanha é formada por 5 capítulos, com alguns divididos em 2.

Tá funcionando liso, mas parece que deu uns congelamentos no PC, acredito que em algumas partes específicas, não podendo alternar janela.

E também, perto do final onde você precisa criar um rastro de fogo com petróleo, pensei que não ia concluir. Não conseguia chegar até o pavio e as múmias não estavam saindo do lugar, não achei relatos dessa parte, mas felizmente se resolveu saindo do jogo e voltando.

This is a gem of a game! They found a fun simple mechanic and really rolled with it. Great blend of puzzle solving and action / combat. The levels are fun to explore and find the secret areas. I played this 9 years ago in 2016 and just now in 2025 I enjoyed playing through again.

But you REALLY, REALLY like Half-Life's gravity gun. Then you might want to try this. (also the only saving grace for me, is the skin for Killing floor 1)

The Ball é um jogo em primeira pessoa que é mais na pegada de Portal do que outro jogo de tiro, até porque aqui você não atira para atacar seus inimigos e sim usa uma bola, podendo arremessar ela e atrair ela para você, com essa força de repulsão e atração para aniquilar os inimigos. Por ser mais próximo a um Portal o jogo trabalha a todo instante quebra-cabeças para você resolver utilizando dessa bola.
A premissa é simples você é um arqueólogo que acabou caindo dentro de um buraco em uma escavação no vulcão do México, seus colegas viram isso e avisou que trariam algo para resgatar ele porque ele estava preso nessa caverna que ele caiu e com isso sugeriram a ele a explorar essa caverna até eles voltarem e nisso começa o game com você encontrando a bola a poucos metros do início.
O jogo é bem criativo com uma ideia bem única mesmo tendo seu puzzle simples vale a pena passar às 8h jogando caso goste desse tipo de jogo, os gráficos são bem agradáveis e os efeitos sonoros como a trilha sonora são ok nada de mais para comentar.
O Combate é simples basicamente jogar a bola nos inimigos e atrair ela de volta para você, mesmo tendo como colocar fogo ou eletricidade na bola ainda é bem simples com pouco desafio.

Dificuldade para pegar todas as conquistas [2/10]
Levei 11h para pegar todas as conquistas, maior parte das conquistas são conseguidas durante sua jornada na campanha, pois a maioria é cumulativa, como matar X inimigos, arremessar a bola X vezes e coisas do tipo.
Mesmo o jogo sendo curto é bom fica de olho nos coletáveis que estão espalhadas pela campanha e é bom seguir um guia para encontrar todos porque elas são perdíveis, caso perca alguma você vai precisa voltar do Zero e pegar todas de novo.
Existem um modo Survival que é uma partida de 10 ondas onde você fica matando os inimigos que vem em sua direção utilizando de armadilhas postas nos cenários ou com sua bola é muito simples de fazer e diria que não funciona muito bem com o jogo sai da ideia do jogo. Existe uma conquista que pede para você andar em cima da bola por 40 metros que pode ser complicado fazer, mas existe o mapa do Portal que facilita essa conquista sendo fácil de se obter na primeira tentativa.

ну я дрочить должен чтобы от этой помойки получить удовольствие. в игре баг найти легче чем место без бага, головоломки тут как тест на аустизм. игру пройти без видео на фоне это можно ебануться, я просто не могу положительно оценить игру в которой я наибольшее удовольствие получил от просмотра ютуба и музыки.

Its puzzles aren't great and are usually trivial to solve, and it is the most UDK game of all time (to the point that the engine's website was almost entirely screenshots of The Ball for a good while), but it is also the most UDK game of all time in a way that gives it a lot of charm. Why does the Mayan ball poker have a skull with glowing eyes on it? Because it's a UDK game. Why does the Mayan puzzle game have gore and big lizard aliens? Because it's a UDK game. It is a game borne of UT3 modders realising "shoot, we can roll a big ball around in the physics engine" and proceeding to be so enthralled with this that they forget to make good puzzles around it and instead go for rote ball-rolling exercises and "combat" where you force hapless monkeys to touch your ball and immediately explode from sheer humiliation.
I cannot in good conscience call it a good puzzle game, and the sheer enthrallment some journalists had for this thing is hilarious in retrospect, but the developers' simple joy for rolling a big ball around is infectious, and now when I close my eyes to sleep I see The Ball and hear the ball poker reving up. Maybe someday I will see the dread Ball Chariot in my dreams, and then I will truly ball on a level unknown to mankind.

Avis mitige : le jeu est assez original avec un petit scenario interressant , la realisation assez moyenne mais demeure dans le convenable , les commandes sont ASSEZ precises (sauf pour le saut de votre perso grrr!!!) La resolution des egnimes sont assez simpa mais apres le reste (les monstres par exemples) c est plutot booof ...

STORIA: Carina ma niente di eccezionale.
GAMEPLAY: Puzzle, prima persona.
GRAFICA: Carina ma niente di eccezionale.
SONORO: Un buon accompagnamento musicale e di effetti.
CONTROLLER: Consigliato mouse e tastiera.
DURATA: Circa 14 ore.
RUN COMPLETAMENTO: Una (se si fa tutto per bene), quasi tutti gli achievement si prendono semplicemente giocando la storia, rimangono solo quelli legati ai collezionabili e a delle azioni particolari.
COMMENTO: E' un gioco in prima persona particolare, il fatto di doversi portare dietro sempre la palla e con essa risolvere gli enigmi che il gioco ci propone rende l'esperienza particolare. Alla fine non mi è dispiaciuto e mi ha regalato diverse ore di svago. Se lo trovate in sconto gli darei una possibilità, passando sopra al fatto che è un gioco del 2010 ed ha una grafica ormai datata.

Игра детства, которая несмотря на явно устаревшую графику всё ещё играется с интересом за счёт всё ещё уникальной механики игры, которую хрен вспомню подобных аналогов. Головоломки хорошие, пока где-то спустя 3-4 часов они не становятся по мере прохождения слишком душными и с крайне не очевидными решениями.

Sua única forma de interação, sua única ferramenta para resolver os desafios que surgem no seu caminho é uma esfera tecnológica do tamanho de um Fusca. Isso é The Ball.

O título de estreia da desenvolvedora independente Teotl Studios partia dessa premissa fora do convencional, mas estava inserido em uma tendência de jogos de tiro que buscavam a visão em primeira pessoa muito além do tiroteio. Nessa linha, entravam a Gravity Gun de Half-Life 2 e a inesquecível Portal Gun da franquia Portal. Em The Ball, nossa única arma tem a função de manobrar a esfera gigante pelo mapa, ora atraindo o artefato, ora repelindo-o. Dessas duas possibilidades físicas, nasce uma jogabilidade que até apresenta "combate" (a esfera esmaga os inimigos que atropela), mas está totalmente ancorada na solução de puzzles.

Usando e abusando da Unreal Engine 3, a desenvolvedora gera níveis de tirar o fôlego, que cumprem seu papel de reduzir o jogador a um minúsculo invasor de um mundo que não lhe pertence. Sem o controle da esfera, ele não é nada. A arquitetura mescla elementos astecas com a iconografia macabra dos reais criadores dessas estruturas, deuses astronautas que vagaram pelo passado da região. O resultado é uma escalada de espanto e respeito, de se sentir um intruso vagando por ruínas hostis ao Homem. Obviamente, armadilhas e monstros de todos os tipos estão espalhados pelo caminho.

De certa forma, The Ball faz pela esfera o mesmo que o cubo representava em Portal: ele se torna mais do que um instrumento, mas também um companheiro. O jogador se sente inseguro, incompleto nos momentos em que é necessário que a esfera se afaste. A Teotl Studios teve a ideia genial de tornar a esfera transparente quando está muito próximo de nosso campo de visão, caso o contrário o jogo seria somente a constante contemplação de um bólido girando.

The Ball capricha também no aspecto sonoro, com o merecido e satisfatório barulho da esfera rolando, assim como os sons emitidos pelas criaturas e o ranger de engrenagens milenares se movendo.

Ao contrário do que supunha, The Ball tem um fio condutor. Não estava prestando muita atenção na narrativa e tampouco fui atrás dos artefatos escondidos que contam ainda mais de seu mundo. Portanto, fui surpreendido pelo final, um desfecho apoteótico para uma odisseia nas entranhas da montanha.

Played so much of this game back in the day. Sure it’s an older title, but I still feel the mechanics are unique and the setting is interesting enough that this game still holds up well. Would love to see a remastered VR port someday, I feel like that could be a really neat experience. Beyond that, I love this game and it’s a great fit if you’re looking for an interesting physics-based puzzler with a cool storyline and unique mechanics.

The Ball игра в жанре головоломки вышедшая в 2010 году.Про неё я узнал ещё тогда из журнала Игромания (эх).Но время шло и про неё я вообще забыл.Вспомнил когда оказалось что она открывает DLC для Killing Floor.Пройти её я всё же решился,не пылиться же на аккаунте.

Сюжет-Мы археолог который проводит раскопки где-то в Мексике в 40-е годы.Верёвка не выдерживает и мы оказывается одни в пещере.Находим там шар в честь которого игра названа и зловещую гравипушку с черепом.Нашей задачей будет лишь вернуться обратно.

Графика-Даже не думал что так соскучусь по Unreal Engine 3.Раньше этот движок был так же что и сегодня его пятая версия,то есть везде.Да качество текстур выдаёт возраст игры,но работа художников прекрасна.А главное что окружение меняется со временем.

Звук-Озвучки почти нет ибо в гордом одиночестве.А вот музыка передаёт настроение места где оказались.Правда большую часть времени мы будем слушать звук шагов да кряхтение героя.

Геймплей-Ну это игра паззл.У вас есть арена где с помощью шара должны выполнить цепь задач.Конечно есть и противники.Если простых мумий можно просто давить шаром то вот местных рептилоидов уже придётся загонять в ловушки.Иногда надо например проложить путь мазутом и поджечь (и это за год до Portal 2)

Минусы-1)Как ни крути но под конец игра начинает поддушивать.Радует то что это начинается уже на финальной секции.Другое дело что судя по статистике ачивок,игру осилили единицы.
2)Сюда же кину и порой странные решения.У героя есть здоровье,оно не восстанавливается со временем а только на чекпоинтах.Физика шара иногда глючит и в особо важный момент просто вас подставит.Некоторые головоломки решаются просто путём рандома (привет платформы).А ну и местные сохранения,чекпоинты просто фиксируют вас на локации а вот уже сохранение полностью сохраняет ваш прогресс.И их может не быть достаточно долго,уровень в храме я проходил два раза ведь ушёл не пройдя чуть чуть,пришлось начинать его заново.Ну и хвалёные большие локации по факту просто есть.Они пустые.Секреты прячут в других местах.

Итог-The Ball это игра которая буквально сохранила в себе 2010.Да местами она неказистая.Видно что выросла из мода.Но если вы любите такой жанр то на скидках её отдают за копейки.Удивительно что я её прошёл на одном дыхании,учитывая что покупал её ради DLC для Killing Floor.

I've tought this would be a pretty bad game judging by the title but well that's the reason why you DONT judge a game by its title (mostly). The ball surprised me a lot, its a solid adventure game with puzzles that are actually quite easy to pick up on and are pretty satisfying. The story is eh...? fine i suppose?, its not too easy to understand and most of the lore pieces are in secrets wich some of are hidden darn well. The object that you will use in your adventures (the ball of course) is pretty intresting...i mean its a ball that has insane powers and well its your only tool that will keep you alive for most of the game so it is kinda strange to say the least...but very creative!. Belive it or not this title has combat (yes of course you use the huge deadly ball) there's no guns, no melee weapons and that's pretty great because you learn how to use environmental hazards agianst your enemies. What about the levels you might ask? well its...hard to explain, the maps are pretty big and open but linear wich is a problem because there are a few places in levels where it looks like you might go trough them but in reality an invisible wall blocks these paths. Altough The Ball has a few issues its a very unique experience you dont get punished by dying or simply doing something wrong and altough it has lots of action its one of these games that dont expect too much from you, wich is great!. The atmosphere and the gameplay are well executed altough the start of the game is rather bland and Unfortunately the best part of the game is at the ending levels wich is not that great, but still i think it deserves a 8.5/10.

The Ball is an interesting game. Definitely recommended to everyone who is interested in puzzle and logic and to everyone who is interested to learn about the secret underground world that The Ball presents. There is an interesting lore explained by the secret heads to find hidden around the different levels. It was a pleasant surprise, I came here expecting that the game would have been filled with an interesting plot and jump-scares. I left this game with more patience towards very well designed puzzle games and confused about the ending.

This game has puzzles and action. But whichever you focus on, you won't have a good time.

Story is like... you got a ball and that's important. Take care of it.
Puzzle part is like... mediocre. Not special. Do here, do that and voila. Watch cut scene.
Action is like... just annoying. Your tool doesn't directly hurt the enemies. Only your ball can. Kill 'em with physics... Maybe fun on paper but terrible execution on actual game.

One of the most ok games I've ever played. It's a constant back-and-forth between nice setpieces, held back by invisible walls not letting you explore, or even get a good look at, those setpieces, interesting puzzle mechanics, held back by finnicky and unrewarding combat, and a story that completely went in one ear and out the other for me.

For every step forward this game takes, it takes exactly one step back. The most 5/10 game I've ever played.

I am a 52 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing The Ball. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son found this game at Christmas, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. Loaded into the game world and started playing but I was stuck on what you were supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he helped me. Loved it as it was the best time had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

This is a game where it took me a while to decide if I liked or hated it.

If you look at the game description and it appeals to you, then it’s probably a game you will like. But be aware its more of a walking simulator instead of a puzzle game.

What drew me in most was the overall concept.

The idea of being an archeologist who accidentally stumbles upon an ancient, underground, uncontacted civilization and must return their most precious artifact to the depths of the earth appealed to me.

However the issues start almost immediately.

You have to take this giant metal ball with you deep into the fissure, using a portal-gun like device to either push or pull the ball.

The problem is this gigantic ball takes up the entire screen, so much of the time you’re stuck looking at the backside of a giant ball.

I eventually figured out to run backwards and use the pull feature to get the ball some momentum then turn 180* and walk normally and the ball will follow. That way you’re not stuck looking at the ball the whole time, but its still an annoying movement tech.

The Ball markets itself as a puzzle game but in reality its more of walking simulator with some slight puzzle elements thrown in.

Very few, if any, puzzles require critical thinking. It is more about maneuvering the ball around to activate switches.

Bizarrely the game implements enemies and combat mechanics a few levels in.

You don’t have any weapons, only the ball, so you have to figure out how to manipulate the ball in order to crush the bad guys to death or spring traps.

The manual says the enemies are mummies but they look like lizard men and gib when you run them over so who knows.

There are a handful of boss fights and they all felt wholly uninspired. The battles were more frustrating than fun and felt ham-fisted in. Again you have to figure out how to use the ball to manipulate environmental traps to damage the boss.

Eventually you reach your destination deep inside the earth and return the ball to its proper place. The ending was kind of cool but nothing special, if anything felt a bit anti-climactic.

Granted its an older game but the graphics and color palette were bad. Everything is a shade of brown, black or copper and is ugly to look at. The aesthetics fit I guess for cave spelunking but its not appealing to the eyes.

The Ball wont blow you away, but if you like the themes and exploration then its worth a play.

Buy it on sale, I bought it for $2 and got my money’s worth but if I had paid much more I would have felt like I got ripped off.

One of those games that started off as a Unreal Tournament 3 mod and grew enough to become a stand-alone game. This is more of an action game with puzzle elements, while there certainly is a fair share of puzzles, there's a lot of traps you need to avoid and you also use the eponymous Ball to crush a bunch of mesoamerican mummies trying to ruin your day, heck, there's even a few boss fights using the spherical item to defend yourself.

The puzzles and boss mechanics are pretty janky and basic, it kinda shows it's roots as a mod that superficially tried to ape Portal "with a twist", also lizardmen that straight up look like Great Value™ Locusts from Gears of War.

This game is by no means a classic, it's pretty honest with it's basic intent of being an action puzzler and nothing more, no pondering on the "human condition", no patronizing the player for "being a monster", there's absolutely no "witty dialogue with dry humor" and no M. Night Shyamalan twists by the end like in most modern first person puzzle games, the only thing it concerns itself about is pondering how will you solve puzzles while steamrolling dozens upon dozens of bloodthirsty mummies and the occasional monkey that gets in your way.

It's fairly alright in my opinion, kind of like a weekend time-waster. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other, but I'm giving it a positive rating, only because I didn't hate it by the end.

6/10 - It's alright, get as cheap as possible.

I'm a sucker for a first person puzzle game (even a janky one) so this was fine. There were a number of confusing decisions.

Number 1, there should not have been boss enemies. Those aren't really puzzles as the only two options are a) hit them with the ball or b) hit a switch with the ball that hurts the boss somehow.

Number 2, there should be no enemies of any kind. When they die to one hit from the ball, the enemies are chores instead of obstacles. Never once did I feel any tension from the enemies, only annoyance.

Number three, everything should have been closer together. Towards the end of the game they put you on a giant cart-type contraption to travel these vast distances, but the game doesn't tie anything to the cart mechanics-wise, so it's just wasted time. They could have just put the rooms closer together.

It's a very mixed bag, but if you like first person puzzle games that won't even remotely challenge you, you could do worse I'm sure.

Музыка: 5/10 - бодрая музыка но иногда со своей хочется побегать.
Интерфейс: 6/10 - чем проще тем лучше.все понятно.
Геймплей: 8/10 - ну это прям портал,только иногда включается режим игры Painkiller или Serious Sam ,замесить все живое на локации, с Portal даже коллаборация есть один уровень.
Режимы: 3/10 - от сюжета можно отдохнуть и просто поубивать мумий в выживании,зачищая волны монстров.
Сложность: 6/10 - умеренная сложность, без подсказок все проходится, не считая достижений на секреты....
Сюжет: 2/10 - мы археолог который упал в пещеру, напарник нам кричит сверху что скоро нам помогут, а пока осмотрись.... ну мы и осмотрелись часов на 8.
Персонажи: 6/10 - оценка только из-за антагониста который смотрит за нами.
Новизна: 3/10 - даже в 10 году эта идея уже реализована.

P.S в игре есть русский язык ,в том числе озвучка(5 реплик на игру,но она есть)

Primeiramente, o jogo não é ruim. É um jogo onde precisaria de uma review "Mista/Mixed" aqui na steam, ao invés de Sim e Não apenas.

Eu não me lembro quando comprei o jogo, mas peguei ele pela estética, realmente parecia algo interessante de puzzles e etc, porém não foi o que temos.

Tentei jogar o jogo umas 2~3 vezes e sempre parava na primeira fase, dessa vez foi quando mais fui longe, porém não consegui continuar a jogar pois formatei o PC sem zerar, e o jogo não sincroniza seu progresso com a nuvem, e realmente não animei em começar o jogo do zero.

Isso porque o jogo é praticamente a parte do "compenion cube" do Portal o jogo inteiro, mas no lugar do cubo é essa enorme bola, você leva ela para lá, ela para cá, e meio que os "puzzles" é fazer ela continuar com você, se resume em "chegue a lugar X, pressione um botão, traga a bola" e repita.

O jogo adiciona "inimigos" que ao meu ver são desnecessários, praticamente não apresentam perigo ao jogador e são facilmente eliminados. Sinto também que toda área é sempre a mesma área, lógico que não faz muito sentido pois são diferentes mas acredito que pela estrutura acabe passando essa impressão.

Acredito que se o jogo, tivesse focado em puzzles utilizando o quesito de "gravidade" da bola, o jogo teria um potencial bem grande.

A nota negativa vai apenas para que, se algum amigo perguntasse "nossa, é legal? compensa eu comprar?" não é algo que eu recomendaria, provavelmente teriam outros jogos que passariam na frente, em promoções fica por 3,40 aproximadamente, então por esse preço pode até ser que você possa dar uma chance.

It's a decent if not jank physics puzzle game.

The whole idea of having the puzzle revolve around the physics of a giant ball you manipulate to progress further is unique and is done quite well in the game.
It does however also include enemies, but in the campaign, it's more of a occasional hazard than anything frequent and more to spice up the gameplay, if you want entirely combat only, the survival mode has you covered.
Most of the time in the campaign, it's you and this giant ball, solving puzzles in various areas.
While it is puzzles around physics, it can be a bit "iffy" from time to time, it's nothing that breaks the game, but can be a bit frustrating, it's not on the levels of "surgeon simulator" levels of frustrating physics, but worth noting.
And mostly everything that you interact with is by using pressure plates, nothing but pressure plates.

The areas scale quite largely and your character moves somewhat slow, so it's recommended you bunnyjump at every given opportunity.

The puzzles themselves aren't the most difficult to achieve, considering i'm terrible with puzzle games in general, i had little to no issues in this game.
It does do a nice job of giving you a variety of mechanics in the various puzzles along the way, so they don't end up feeling too similar, that said, some are better than others.
on top of that there's also a bunch of "manipulation" of the ball, in which it can for example get an gravity altering zone of effect, be set on fire, be coated in electricity, have exploding spikes attached to it or having slapped landmines all over it, both done for puzzles and combat.

The survival mode is set on an arena visually similar to each of the levels and will have different enviromental events and buttons that either hinder or help you to survive.

There's is some platforming sections which were a bit annoying, but that's more of a nitpick.
while there is combat and enviromental hazards in the campaign, dying merely "respawns" you back at the checkpoint and the progress you've made thus far is saved, usually, it varied a bit.

While there are "bossfights" in the game, they still revolve around using the ball and the various manipulations at your disposal to take care of them, and they're were immensly easy to deal with.
If you're looking for a game where it's only "crush ancient mummies and monsters with your giant ball", it's perhaps not the game for you, there is the survival mode, but it got old pretty quickly.

The visuals SCREAM unreal 3 engine, it's not bad per say, but it has that undenieably "gritty" look that so many UE3 games have.
The aesthetics are nice, but they seem to die down later on and become much more generic in the endgame.
and since it's a puzzle game, most of the areas seem more like a game puzzle than an authentic place where people lived in.

music is fine, but stays in the background and is mostly forgetable
voice acting what little there is, is decent, it's not great, but not so bad that it's grating to your ears.

I'd recommend it if you enjoy puzzle games and just games with unique game mechanics albiet janky.

Выросшая из модификации, игра предлагает нам прокатиться по подземным останкам вымершей южноамериканской цивилизации. На пару с внушительным металлическим шаром и пушкой, позволяющей им манипулировать, мы будет путешествовать, разгадывать головоломки и уничтожать местную нежить. Головоломки не сложные, разнообразие умеренное, локации красивые.

Кроме кампании советую не пропускать испытания. Там есть как арены с волнами врагов, так и цепочки дополнительных головоломок, поразнообразнее.

Игра не плохая, рекомендую любителям головоломок.

It took me 12 years to beat this game... It just would never work on my older computers. That said, In the end of 2023 this game was a pretty fun puzzle game. Its looks great on Ultra settings. I have no Idea what I paid for it or what it costs right now, but I'd say under 10 dollars would be a fair price. 5 to 6 hours game for casual gamers.

Это игра - 3d головоломка в закрытом помещении... Да можно сказать что это родственник Портала. Но есть но - сюжет протекает в пещерах мексиканской горы, в антураже древних майя. Вы вооружены оргомным футбольным мячом который можете притягивать и отфутболивать, нажимать на кнопки, атаковать и выполнять действия.

+ графика на уровне тех времен. Скудность графики полностью отбивается очень впечатляющими локациям, достойными Лары Крофт,
--- но есть отдельные минусы в геймдизайне - персонаж, которым мы играем, ощущается карликом по пояс. Враги-мумии очень тупы и ощущаются больше как часть головоломки. И эти бревна в "лаве"...
+++ концепция игры - решать головоломки с помощью мяча - превосходно проработана, интересная и новаторская.
+++ уровней много, сделана масса фишек - мяч может изменять свои свойства, есть повозки.
+++ на русскую озвучку позвали парней с отличными голосами. музыка фоном.
+/- сюжет повествует о том, как пришельцы подарили людям знания, люди украли у них шар, пришельцы обиделись и... короче игрок возвращает пришельцам шар и они улетают на своей тарелке. Ну, окей.
+/- имеются режимы выживания где вам в узких коридорах надо отбиваться мячом от толп вот этих самых монстров. Спасибо конечно...
Если честно, даже удивительно что эта игра настолько мало известна. Возможно если бы дизайн сделали под киберпанк, и персонажа нормальных пропорций - игра бы получила своё заслуженное место в пятерке-десятке лучших. Огорчает, что прохождение игры - редкое достижение.
В общем-то можно согласиться что игра дизайнерски - выстрел в никуда. Гибрид Индианы Джонса, футбольного симулятора и Портала. И везде не дотягивает.
Игре явно требуется ремейк!

I definitely got my $3.50 worth even just doing the first few levels. Its fun, great atmosphere, but occasionally feels a bit boring or annoying... maybe stemming from my own impatience wanting to sprint etc.. But I've only done 2 levels and its starting to pick up excitement and it feels really good to crush enemies with The Ball. So I recommend. I think it will continue to be a fun puzzle game to chip away at and I've already gotten more than my money's worth in my mind.

Beğenmedim. Topu belli yerlere götürerek bulmacaları çözüyorsuz. Belki ileri bölümlerde oyun hareketlenebilir ama ben sabredemedim. Türü sevenler deneyebilir.

En voi kyllä suositella tätä peliä koska se on pohjimmiltaan vaan erittäin tylsä. Idea on ihan ok että tarviit jonkun työkalun (pallo) ja sillä ratkotaan aina ongelmat mutta kun otetaan huomioon seuraavat seikat niin asia ei ole enää sama. Kentät ja ongelmanratkonta-alueet ovat aika suurehkoja jolloin pidemmän matkan pallon vierittelyt alkaa maistua puulta aika piakkoin. Palloa tarvii lähes ihan kaikkeen joten tietyllä tavalla aina sama skenaario toistuu uudestaan ja uudestaan. Pelissä on myös vihollisia ja pallolla pystyy kyllä ne jyräämään mutta ei tämä tuo niin paljoa vaihtelua jota voisi kuvitella. Portal pelisarjassa on ehkä vähän samanoloista asiaa mutta siinä se nyt vaan on yksinkertaisesti toteutettu paremmin. Tämä on halpa pikkupeli.

Pelin graffat on perus UE3 tasoa eli ihan siedettevää. Todella vähä värinen peli kyllä on sillä tämä on käytännössä Gears of Cave jos nyt pitää jotenkin kiteyttää. Äänet ovat aika mitäänsanomattomia. Ei niihin oikein ole panostettu.

Jos tarkempaa hiirituntumaa jne haluaa niin peliä pystyy kyllä tarkemmin säätämään .ini tiedostoista mutta ei se itse peliä kuitenkaa pelasta. Mikäli kelpaa halvahkon tuntunen peli ja voit siitä korkeintaan pari euroa maksaa, niin kyllä tuo varmaan silloin jolleikin maistuu. Itse olen FPP (firstpersonpuzzle) pelien ystävä ja ei tätä kyllä silti kovin kauan jaksa.

Хто теж вважає по скринам що ця гра м'ясний шутер, то ви праві на 50%. Це щось ближче к Portal але без порталів, лише один великий шар, яким ви повинні вирішувати довільно цікаві та легкі головоломки.

Fizikán alapuló logikai rejtvények megoldása, ősi civilizációt feltáró titkok és gyűjthető tárgyak. Ezekkel jellemezhető leginkább a cím. A játék teljesíthető ideje kellőképpen kiegyensúlyozott, se nem rövid se nem hosszú.
Mintha az Indiana Jones és a Portal szerelemgyereke lenne.
