As someone who loves bullet hell games, this one hit me right in the dopamine receptors. It’s pure chaotic joy: screen-filling madness, tight controls, and that delicious “just one more run” energy.

There are tons of varied weapons and perks that keep things fresh and wonderfully overpowered. One minute you’re politely zapping cultists, the next you’re a walking apocalypse with legs. Beautiful.

The short, punchy levels are perfect for quick sessions, but don’t get too comfy — they ramp up nicely and become properly spicy on higher tiers. Fair, challenging, and very satisfying.

Also, getting 100% achievements? Totally doable with a bit of practice and stubbornness. I did it. My ego is now legally classified as a megastructure.

And listen — I’ve read quite a bit of Lovecraft. Anyone who writes multiple novels where sentences stretch over entire pages and consist mostly of commas has to be fundamentally evil. So honestly, blasting cosmic horrors with advanced electricity feels less like gaming and more like community service.

Very fun and colorful top down shooter where you play as Nikola Tesla VS H.P. Lovecraft and all the Eldritch monsters you can blast. base game on its own is fun and the DLC adds some new enemy and some new options for killing including some guns but it also adds some crazy powerups that absolutely break the game and give the enemy no chance to actually beat you. Needless to say the gameplay loop is fun and hunting it wasn't bad either. Not a whole lot of variance in it but it was certainly worth getting and 100%ing twice at this point.

Closest thing to Crimsonland 2. Premise is the same: you need to do all missions to unlock all perks and weapons for survival. But in "Tesla vs Lovecraft" you need to do same set of levels 3 times (4 and endless with DLC) which is kind of annoying. I'm 8 hours in and did 2.5 "times".
Survival mode is the best thing in the game and to get all weapons for it you need to grind through "campaign". Survival is sort of casino where your success is defined by the luck in early game - no matter of strat you're trying to play, if you got crappy guns and/or perks, you're dead.
This time it's not empty arena, but map with some structure. Weapons are literally from Crimsonland but reskinned. Perk system is same - but some perks are new. Feels like 10tons know what exactly ADHD is - even without getting damage your mech will be destroyed so you need to collect parts of it to ride it again. And crystalls can buy you new abilities. And you beat each level in a small chunk of ~5 minutes... maybe not with first try.

C'est plus resserré qu'un Vampire Survivor et parfois frustrant car le décor est là pour vous mettre des bâtons dans les roues, sauf que une fois les mécaniques de jeu comprises, et que nos compétences augmentent, Tesla vs Lovecraft devient une sucrerie.
L'on peu assimiler quantités d'upgrades, obtenir des armes délicieusement destructrices et tout platiner en quelques secondes là où avant on galérait.
La difficulté est bien dosée, les musiques répétitives font malgré tout le taf.
Surement très fun à jouer en coop.
Il semblerait que le DLC y fasse pour beaucoup dans l'ajout de fun, l'ayant acheté à la reprise sur ce jeu, je ne peu que valider son achat, j'y prends plus de plaisir à défourailler du monstre cosmique.
Je recommande en promotion il mérite de s'y essayer, voir d'y accrocher.

So, on Steam it asks "Do you recommend this game?" and in 2025 for that my answer is no. Because these days the formula has been done waaaaay better by other games. Looks like their own Tesla Force is a way better choice for something like this.

I have finished the "main campaign" which is just a series of levels without much variety. Bosses are basically same as enemies just a little stronger. You can buy overall upgrades, but in general it is more a game of luck than skill - if a decent weapon spawns you are good to go.

I like 10tons and their games and this one was ok as well. Just cannot really recommend it in 2025.

A fun twinstick shooter with a good variety of levels, enemies, weapons, and perks. The levels have more architecture to them than these sort of games typically do. They aren't just empty rooms. There are walls, alleys, and pits that you need to use to your advantage. Some of the weapons and perks are better than others, and since their appearance is random, it's possible to fail a level because you randomly get denied anything useful.

Although this game does have an endless mode, the difficulty is tuned so that you really must beat the single-player mode on every difficulty and unlock everything. Otherwise, you won't last more than 60 seconds on endless.

I'm not sure if the meta-progression elements of this game really make the game better, but they're here nonetheless.

純粹追求爽快的俯視角射擊遊戲~~遊戲難度算中偏低，有時開局運氣不好一直沒拿到合適的道具or武器，可能會打得很辛苦，但一局時間很短，失敗馬上再來，很少有關卡會連續卡個3~5次，基本上多試試就能過了，不錯，推一個！
P.S：遊戲內有場外升級要素，但由於升級用寶石有夠難取得，基本都放棄，不過玩起來不太影響遊玩體驗XDD

Embora um jogo com uma proposta tão "estranha" de colocar o inventor Nicola Tesla contra o escritor H.P. Lovecraft, a mágica não está na história, mas sim na gameplay rogue like de fases.
Com uma variedade de inimigos e de armas, dá para passar muito tempo nesse jogo. A platina dele não dura muito tempo, embora um grande problema seja a repetição de bosses e fases, sendo um tanto quanto incômodo. Fora isso, vale a pena comprar o jogo.

One of my favorite twin-stick shooters. As others have said, there's some luck involved in winning a lot of the time (similar to a roguelike) but I didn't find it too bad. If you get the game, I strongly recommend getting the DLC as well, as it adds quite a bit to the game, especially when it comes to replay value.

Note: 50+ hours on PS4 in addition to Steam.

Looks like you get to pilot a mech to fight Lovecraftian horrors.

Actually, you start each map as a level 1 pleb with a pistol and a teleporter.
Getting better weapons depends on RNG popping them up on the ground.
Getting a special ability, which has limited charges, is the same.
The mech is on a timer when it's active and requires gathering 6 parts from around the map.

At the end of a map, if you have all 6 parts but don't activate the mech, you automatically have the mech active at the start of the next map...when you don't need it, instead of being able to save it for when you do need it.

Also, there is no meta progression between maps. Considering the maps are essentially a campaign, meta progression would actually make sense.

This could have been fleshed out a fair bit more and it could have been built on more solid mechanics. I am very disappointed.

Grossly underappreciated. The game is excellently crafted, the weapons are well thought out and it can be deciphered that the developers had a tremendous love for the source material. Although the Lovecraftian entities could be more- challenging..., everything to do with Tesla was extremely well done.

It's a game on a smaller scale, but there is still a terrific attention to detail when the ability and perk icons are observed. They're very well done. This game is an absolute must play for $15.00

Tesla vs Lovecraft feels like a game straight from the XBLA golden age. It's a no frills twin-stick shooter, where you enter a level, shoot all the enemies, and leave. There are different guns, power-ups, and upgrades that all pretty much amount to "shoot things, but harder". But the shooting feels good, and sometimes that's all you need.

The game also keeps you moving which is nice. You won't just be standing in one place but maneuvering to charge your big special, dodge enemies, and move around the obstacles in each level.

The game has daily missions, for some reason? You get enough of the meta-currency from levels that you can ignore them and beat the game, but it's an odd choice especially given the game does not have the replayability to last for weeks on end.

Half the upgrades are pretty worthless.

Even in 2018 the idea of having two real life figures like Tesla and Lovecraft fighting was dated.

Don't expect much complexity from the game. There are no secrets, real strategy, or grand plot. But it's almost nostalgic to play that's so straightforward. The game executes the core "you shoot enemies" pretty much perfectly, and sometimes that's all you need.

If you like twinstick shooters, then I recommen this. Not a hard game, but I think the DLC made it a lot more easy. I manage to get all the achivment in less then 15 hours and could have done it faster if I had not turn up the spawn limit of enemies. But I keep playing just because it is nice balance game and in the end you will feel like a god. Only problem is that it is bit short.
Also the cosmic horror and Tesla crossover theme as been done in a fun way. The story is just there to drive the gameplay so nothig special to expect.

Tesla vs Lovecraft é um jogo do gênero Twin-stick shooter, onde, como tradicionalmente fazemos nos jogos do estilo, enfrentamos hordas de inimigos. A proposta do título é puxada para nos entregar uma experiência mais arcade e casual. Percorremos diversas fases, fazendo uso de diferentes tipos de armas, além de ser possível, fazer uso de um mecha de batalha, após encontrar peças do mesmo. A história é quase inexistente, servindo apenas como ponta pé inicial para a jogatina começar. O nível de dificuldade é muito bem balanceado, e avança na medida certa. A temática lovecraftiana é o maior trunfo do jogo. Os monstros, a ambientação e a trilha sonora nos dão a sensação, que estamos dentro de algum dos contos do Lovecraft. Em contraste a parte macabra, temos o lado sci-fi e as invenções do Tesla, que dão uma mistura, inusitada, porém extremamente funcional. O jogo está traduzido para o português, conta com conquistas, e um bom fator replay. Recomendo !

I got lured in by the names of two of my favorite historic figures.

I understand that it's supposed to be a musing, but I didn't find the portrayal of theirs entertaining all the same. Heck, I din't find this game entertaining altogether, since this seems to be a severly dumbed-down version of Crimsonland / Evil Magic.

In all honesty, it might be good for a little while, if you got some time to kill, and you don't mind having no experience / perks transfering from one map to another (you start at level 1 on each), and very limited arsenal (at least compared to the said two games).

They had one job, man... and that was recreating Crimsonland in contemporary graphics and maybe adding a little extra. Not this, nnnnggghhh.

EDIT: For some strange reason it says I played only 0.2 hrs. But I've stretched the 2 hrs try-before-refund to the brim.

It could maybe use a bit more variety in the long run, but I can definitely recommend this for twin stick shooter aficionados. I like that it has meta progression as well as powerups you collect for each level.

This is probably one of the most insane ideas for a game i have ever seen. It does seem kinda wierd or even stupid you may say but it has been executed so well i have to say that's its opposite of stupid and it does fit very well into a top down shooter. The shooting is good maybe it lacks weight here and there but its really really good, and the weapon roster is amazing. The way the whole thing progresses reminds me a lot of Nation Red, the mission mode to be precise. You try to survive hordes of Lovecraftian horros and then work on destroying Cthulhu totems that spawn more monstrosities. Oh and the enemy roster is nice, its pretty accurate to Lovecraft's works although there isn't much of them in the game. The voice acting is alright there are only 2 characters voiced Wich are Tesla and Lovecraft, we got a few cutscenes too. Both the story and gameplay is like a science vs god scenario and its made well. There are a few bugs here and there but for something made by not a big team of people is VERY high quality. Never thought 2 of my favorite
geniuses would have an epic battle in a game but well its happening 9/10.

This simple recipe is perfect for a romantic evening with family or close friends.

As always, you find yourself racking your brain in the evening, wondering what to cook that’s both quick and delicious. Somewhere deep in your freezer, you stumble upon a couple of kilos of Shoggoth fillet (let’s not discuss where you got it!).

So, let’s get to work. First, we need to give it a good long boil. To ensure the Shoggoth meat becomes tender and soft, it’s best to leave it simmering on low heat for about 10-15 years. So, it's better to start ahead of time. While the meat is simmering deliciously, let’s finely chop up some Dagon fins. I’ll be honest, it’s no easy task. But if you happen to have a few kilos of TNT lying around in your garage, consider yourself lucky. It’s best to do the chopping in a neighbor’s yard. Later, you can tell everyone what a wonderful neighbor you had. May he rest in peace!

Now then, a couple of years before the stew is ready, toss in the Dagon fins—whatever pieces you managed to gather. In the meantime, grab a shovel and head briskly to the nearest cemetery. We’ll need to dig up a few human skulls. Yes, you heard me right—Shoggoth stew is best served in those.

As a side dish, a couple of buckets of surströmming will do nicely.

Really solid twin stick shooter game. A lot of fun upgrades and easy to pick up and play.
The mech is awesome to play and you get it on every level for a limited time.

The only downside is the levels all kind of feel the same. So even though you are constantly advancing to the next level, it just feels like you a playing the same level over and over.

Fun twin stick shooter. At higher difficulties there's a ton of RNG - get a decent weapon drop early or die. You can find currency in the levels to buy permanent unlocks, so you feel like still you're achieving something even while dying on the same level over and over.

It's a cute little mini game and pretty identical to the game "Tesla Force".. don't expect a revolution, it's a rogue like twinstick shooter with bare mechanics, few different weapons, enemies and bosses mostly the samish stages in a questionable Lovecraft setting. It has it moments and sometimes you even think, hey that sound was kinda lovecrafty or, hey that tentacle thing is actually lovecrafty but I'd recommend this one on sale.. and playin another game if you want some real lovecraft vibes. It's really just a little game easy to 100%

En mi opinión, de lo más parecido que vas a encontrar a "Gauntlet" en un Mac. Pero resulta cansino. En oferta está bien, sobre todo si eres lovecraftiano. Aunque preferiría que Howard y sus hordas patearan a Tesla...
Pero si lo que quieres es un montón de monstruos abalanzándose sobre tí, y un infierno de disparos, la verdad, hay otras opciones mejores: desde Assault Android Cactus hasta Enter the Gungeon, pasando por Children of Morta o Hades. Pero claro, no tienen la simplicidad del viejo Gauntlet ni ese ambiente de "laberinto infestado" que sí encontrarás aquí.

Tesla vs Lovecraft - прекрасный представитель жанра арена-шутеров с видом сверху. В лаборатории Теслы случился пожар, а город наводнили монстры. Придется город спасать, уничтожая их в огромных количествах. Различное оружие, масса улучшений и бонусов, битвы с боссами. Монстры разнообразные, имеют свои особенности. Выглядит и звучит игра прекрасно, управление очень удобное (играл на геймпаде). Поклонникам жанра очень рекомендую.

Убогая поделка,сам геймплей вроде неплох но уровни очень странно чередуются - легкие с трудными.И они появляются в разное время прохождения.Но если не можешь пройти надо как бы прокачать умения прокачать способности.Но кристаллов для прокачки падает настолько мало что прокачка больше похожа на издевательство.Придя к финалу Карты Аркхем вы почти лысый.Естественно пройти в таком случае просто нереально.Гриндить тоже нужно столько что всякое желание пропадает дальше играть.В последующей части - Tesla Force они попытались исправить это и вроде неплохо получилось но все равно до нормальной игры далеко.Здесь же все очень тухло.Пушек меньше,перков меньше,умений меньше.Какой то пробник игры не иначе!
Не рекомендую,несмотря на то что плюсы в игре есть,минусы перевешивают кратно.

As a big fan of twinsticks, this game is meh. Levels too short, mechanically fine but doesn't stand out and sometimes clunky, and why is there a plot? I even bought the dlc thinking it was some sort of traditional endless mode. It's not, just more things in the game.

作为一款俯视角的双摇杆射击类爽游，游戏性如何？可能每个人看法不同，不过难度上却是比《血腥大地》要低（有换弹却无弹药限制），完美过关的机制也是一样的——即使当前关卡受到过伤害，只要满血过关即可获得印记。而使用紫水晶点出关键技能，且开局获得一把强力的武器（强化型更好），嘎嘎乱杀也不是梦想！

全成就难度较低，完成三周目难度并且击杀一定数量的特定怪物即可获得。

一款体量不算大的俯角射击游戏，画面表现还算合格，难度不算高，操作手感尚可，后期割草的体验比较解压。但是武器的刷新比较随机，经常出现武器刷新在怪堆里面需要深入怪堆才能捡到的情况，特殊能力之间实用性的差别也比较大，有些特殊能力是刷出必选的，有些则是宁可洗牌也绝对不拿的，个人认为一个真正设计优秀的游戏在数值设计上不应该出现这种“下水道”。总地来说，虽然游戏的某些方面数值设计存在缺陷，但在史低价位购入还是很推荐的

群がるクトゥルーモンスターを殲滅するのは気分爽快
初期にいい武器引けないとあっという間にやられてしまう時もあるけど１ステージにかかる時間は短いのでリトライするのも苦ではない感じ

The screen fills up really quickly with enemies, so you need to balance dodging and dead ends, and while the first few levels seem easy, it ramps up in difficulty quickly. Best played with friends although I wish there was a way to bring back a dead player like in Gauntlet after you kill enough enemies.
