Storyline

You take up the mantle of a lonely adventurer on their way to the barely explored land of Nova Drakonia. A fun, semi-grounded, low magic "classless" fantasy CRPG from the ATOM guys? Yes, please. Is the character creator deep enough? Yes, and then some. Are the sprites ugly as hell? Also, yes. Have I lost the last 30+ hours of my life to it? Again, yes.

80+ hour ironman mode, solid writing, cool exploration, unique combat, tons of lore, deep crafting, and the ability to break any character you make in so many ways... there really is a lot to love. But, the icing is that when you inevitably remake you're character, which you will, it's only a minute or two before you're back in the thick of it. Great design all around & something unique unto itself.

Just finished Clamreach, gotta say it's a pretty solid start, better than what I'd expected even. Real-time combat is badly done when compared to turn-based. Lore is intriguing, can tell devs had pulled something good out here. Art style is working, I won't put a better word than "working", but yeah it's functional. Love the old-fallout world map thing. And all those well written dialogues really do build characters. Missions are fun, map has loots scattered so it's worthy to explore. Have no idea what's waiting for me but for now Swordhaven seems like a good one of its kind.

Really don't know why there's so many people don't like this game.

Man braucht etwas um rein zu kommen und die ersten Stunden dachte ich wasn langweiliges game da man hauptsächlich über Redekunst in Gesprächen mit NPCs den Charakter levelt, man kann aber auch als Dieb starten es dauert nur wesentlich länger voran zu kommen da man erst mit 150 Wert im Taschendiebstal und Feilschen wirklich gut voran kommt(ingame ca level 8).

Nach 65Stunden muß ich sagen gelungenes game welches echt spaß macht wenn man die Mechaniken verstanden hat, es ist etwas hilfreich wenn man F.Artjom RPG(Atom RPG) vorher schon gespielt hat die games sind ähnlich jedoch sehr unterschiedlich!

A Kickstarter scam. Don’t fall for ATOM 2 or the useless Remaster!
As a die-hard fan of the original ATOM RPG, I feel completely scammed. What AtomTeam did with Swordhaven is a textbook example of everything wrong with the industry and crowdfunding. They used our trust to fund a project that is a hollow shell of their previous work.
Why it’s a total failure:
Visual disaster: The game is just plain ugly and flat. The colors are an eyesore, and the graphics look worse than budget titles from a decade ago. Zero atmosphere, zero soul—just generic, empty dioramas.
"Alpha" posing as a full release: Calling this Version 1.0 is a joke. The game is unfinished, empty, and technically broken. The UI is so clunky it makes you want to quit after 15 minutes. This isn't a finished product; it’s a rushed prototype pushed out just to close the books.
The Cash Grab Strategy: It’s clear they took the Kickstarter and Early Access money and stopped caring about quality. Instead of fixing this mess, they are trying to sell us the same old game twice with a completely unnecessary "ATOM Remaster" and hyping up ATOM 2. It's a blatant attempt to milk the fanbase while delivering zero quality in their new projects.
Broken Trust: They proved they can dump an unfinished husk on the market while coasting on past glory. They've traded their reputation for a quick buck.
Verdict:
I feel screwed over. This studio has shown its true colors. My advice: DO NOT give them any more "credit" for ATOM 2 in Early Access. Don't let them trick you with nostalgia while they ignore the current garbage they’re selling. Let them prove they can actually deliver a polished game first.

What a GAME, i geniunly don't understand why its not more beloved and thats from someone that is quite critic towards CRPG for almost 30 years..

PROS :
- Great QoL for various interactions.
- Writing is amazing, period.
- Many choices of how you handle the quests.
- The way NPCs are linked together in every villages, city, is incredible, some won't even give you their name and some through gossip and careful listening will allow you a quest with ANOTHER NPC that would never mention it before etc.
- Combat system once handled is pretty interesting.
- Exploration feels very nice, there is so many stuff hidden, so many backgrounds and way to approach stuff, you can tell the love from the devs.

CONS :
- Due to the sheer amount of skill points / level etc. its hard to do more than 1 weapon skill + 1 skill on your companions and slightly more on MC that has more skill points through various interractions, specially in hard mode where you have less XP. Hopefully next patches will correct this toward something better (such as reaching more easyly 199 in crafting through more gear or else).
- You have one different companion / background which is great, but forward in the game there aren't many companions, they said 1.1 will bring a new one (who knows maybe more).

Honnestly the game felt vivid, enticing, im not afraid to put a 8/10 and if everything goes right for 1.1 a 9/10 is not out of the table :)

Probably the only RPG set in a Medieval fantasy world that I ever managed to play through. Fantasy does absolutely nothing for me compared to post-apocalyptic sci-fi. So the fact that I completed Swordhaven is a huge point in its favor. Mercifully it's more of an alternate history rather than Dungeons & Dragons. More to the point, magic is outlawed in this world, so you won't be casting any magic missiles or fiery ice... dragon... breath(?) spells, or whatever gets people randy for magical settings.

That being said, it's a pretty slow game throughout, then suddenly floors the accelerator in the last few hours until you crash through the final confrontation and are abruptly shown the closing cutscene. So the pacing could use some work. BUT the writing does feature that trademark self-aware humor present in Atom RPG and reminiscent of the original Fallouts. AtomTeam has always done branching character interactions well, and Swordhaven is arguably the best showcase of that so far. And that's what I live for in a CRPG. That's what gets [i]me[/i] randy.

Okay I put some time into this one before I wrote this little review. This is not my first rodeo with this Dev team, I also own ATOM RPG on 2 platforms and I like what they did here. The key to enjoying this game is play or normal level, play a rpg class you think you will enjoy and learn how to use them in combat. Once you understand the combat and the skills style you feel comfortable using during combat....Start over with a new game....
That right! Start over before you get too far into game...because you will make mistakes on your first build and how you want to interact with the game world. You will be around level 3 when you pull the plug on the first go....
Thats what I did and now I use multiple combat styles and skills to help me navigate through the world and its story. You might not accomplish all the quests the game has to full success, but I think thats what the devs were shooting for for replay. The game functions mechanical in Turn base or Real time similar to "Wartales" if you like that title from Shiro Games...And similar in play style in that game this game doesn't point the way per se to the next quest or hold your hand on how to accomplish the task.,,
I Think this game is worth a play through....

Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy es un RPG clásico por turnos que apuesta fuerte por la narrativa, las decisiones con peso real y un sistema de combate táctico desafiante.

El juego ofrece una historia llena de intrigas y conflictos entre facciones, con diálogos extensos y múltiples caminos para resolver las situaciones. La construcción de personaje es profunda y realmente importa cómo desarrolles tus habilidades. Cada decisión puede abrir o cerrar puertas, algo que se agradece mucho.

No es perfecto: la interfaz podría ser más cómoda, el ritmo a veces se vuelve lento y hay detalles técnicos que podrían pulirse. Sin embargo, nada de eso opaca la experiencia general.

Si te gustó ATOM RPG, este juego seguramente te va a gustar. Comparte esa esencia de RPG clásico, exigente y centrado en la estrategia y el rol puro.

👍 Muy recomendado para amantes de los RPG tradicionales.

Занятная игра- есть что поделать, есть где побегать. Фанатам старых изометрий зайдет-но и новичкам мимо проходить не стоит.
-Музыкальное сопровождение зашло- меланхоличное такое. Правда, с повествованием не совсем стакается.
-Надо было выбирать между TB и RTWP. К пошаговому сложно придраться- но рил тайм лучше должен быть. Модельки не туда воюют буквально и ИИ как-то странно прописан. Мобы рашат тебя на глобальной карте по дефолту, а твоя парти полраунда виснет, поймав весь урон лицом.
-Про глобальную карту надо отметить- хуже не придумать. Что-нибудь наподобие кингдомкама зашло бы, да и когда уже поймут что никому не всралась эта квадратная тема со складывающихся днд карт.
-Крафт одна из самых лучших механик в этой игре. Все интуитивно, не надо тратить кучу времени на сбор ресов и достаточно вознаграждает механически.
-Сопартийцам не хватает изюминки- мало диалогов. Если не давать отдельный квест, то более частые встревания в диалоги/помощь в плане избежания некоторых проверок вообще- любая вовлеченность приветствуется. А то так несерьезно, что я соло бегаю или нас четверо-диаметральной разницы нет.

自动存档间隔太远了。没有人能够时刻记得手动存档，尽管游戏里设置了快速存档，但是不可能做得到随时记得按下那个该死的f6

游戏整体流程中等，但是有一部分隐藏内容藏得太深了，又没有内置特殊内容记录，也没有对话记录回顾，导致一些关键信息一旦操作过快而漏过，就几乎无法找回

本身游戏素质还是很不错的，玩的蛮爽的，但是支线任务很容易断掉，选错选项之后有三条互相关联的支线直接全都断掉了，而且至少让我失去了三张可探索的地图内容，这方面需要改进下

最后剧情由魔幻走向科幻是个败笔，顿时使得整个流程索然无味，像是在主题乐园里过家家，尤其是最后的矿坑本来就可以结束了，想着赶紧打完矿坑结束得了，结果非得又加一个神秘土丘，又是一个又臭又长的流程，本来代入感就没多少了，还得硬着头皮打，然而敌人又臭又硬，死了不知道多少次，我都无语了就一个结局你设计那么难图什么，我连结局都不想看了直接卸载，真失望

Come sempre, mi trovo controcorrente a recensire un prodotto.
Swordhaven è mal ottimizzato, grezzo, spietato, che dà perennemente la sensazione di quanto si sarebbe potuto sviluppare in più per perfezionarlo... E allora perchè il pollice in su? Credo sia la mia fame di CRPG che non viene saziata da tempo, e ormai qualsiasi prodotto che timidamente si affaccia in un mercato di nicchia punitivo va premiato.

Come dicevo il comparto tecnico non impressiona, con una RTX 4080 ancora mi ritrovo dei cali di frame nonostante la grafica sia del lontano 2005. Il gameplay è RPG classico e può essere cambiato tra modalità a turni e in tempo reale, con (poche) possibilità di crafting e personalizzazione che comunque nel complesso funzionano. E' presente qualche traccia di esplorazione e sopravvivenza anche se non sono il cuore dell'esperienza. Un elemento che ho davvero apprezzato del gioco è che ricevi esperienza acquisendo informazioni per cui sarai stimolato a parlare con chiunque incontri per avere quel piccolo bonus di XP, inoltre le abilità di dialogo (persuasione, intimidazione, inganno) hanno un peso estremo nello svolgersi degli eventi.

Swordhaven ti mette nei panni di una persona, il cui background potrà essere scelto, che dal proprio Impero si è allontanata in cerca di avventure e ricchezza verso una grande isola di recente scoperta in cui viene estratto un minerale molto particolare, tutto molto bello finchè non naufraga la nave e ci si ritrova in spiaggia a cercare di sopravvivere ed è qui che inizia nostro il viaggio.
Il gioco nasconde piccoli segreti come boss ed eventi irripetibili per cui si deve fare più di una run per ottenere tutti gli achievement.
Ciò che mi ha lasciato deluso è stato il finale, che credo sia tra i peggiori mai visto in un videogioco e la difficoltà estrema di alcuni incontri che ti costringe a massimizzare alcune build solo per avere qualche possibilità.

In (quasi) tutte le mie 35 ore di gioco ho provato quella sensazione di nostalgia che mi ha portato indietro ai tempi del primo Baldur's Gate e nonostante tutto credo sia un prodotto a cui vale la pena dare una possibilità.

Though still in need of some optimization, the game is very reasonable to play if you like classical RPGs. Exploration dynamics are good. Character development is ok with the (intentional) caveat that most skill checks have to be done by main character only, without party support. Would be good for devs to change that a bit, to make party composition more meaningful beyond fighting. In some ways, and lack of magic aside, this game reminds me of the old Drakensang The dark eye/The river of time games. Currently 7/10; with devs adding content and polishing might go to 8/10 eventually.

I like this dev, but this title is really disappointing.

#1 the setting is extremely bland. Low fantasy is hard to make interesting, and Atomteam did not manage to do so. The small glimpses you get into intriguing monsters and magic are far in between, and the politics aren't interesting enough to fill the gaps.

#2 the combat just isn't good. You can sort of ignore it playing Atomteam's older titles because you can just blast through it with firepower, but here you're more forced to engage with the slow, clunky, and unengaging systems.

#3 and absolutely most egregious... it's blatantly unfinished. The main city and later quest locations feature taverns with no employees, brothels with no employees... a large thieves guild location absolutely barren of life. Atomteam clearly bit off more than they can chew with the scope of this game, and I hope they can survive and return to the scale of Trudograd. A city full of interesting npcs and quests is wayyy better than a world spread thin.

I have to say, after enjoying AtomRPG and Trudograd I am feeling a bit duped by this. Never buy early access, I keep reminding myself, and this is yet another reminder. Writing, progression...it's just not good, you are just better off playing an old BG or POE game for the fifth time, trust me.

I'm giving Swordhaven a thumbs down as of now, with hopes that it will become a thumbs up later. My major issue with the game is that it's basically lying about being a 1.0 release.

All of the patches since 1.0 have added content that simply should have already been there. They're still fleshing out the late game areas, but still called it a finished product. This would be the equivalent of BG3 saying its 1.0 ready and released without finishing the third act at all. I understand the state games release in these days and standards have changed to waiting a year for the game to be good, but this situation is just dishonest.

When it comes to old-school styled CRPG's, Swordhaven's character creation and progression feel pretty great. However, they have a very STUPID aspect of locking your starting companion behind your background choice. There's no indication of this, and I wondered every time I started a new character why i only ever got the healing priest fella as my only companion option. I had to look it up. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Backgrounds give you different starting stats and dialogue options, and lend themselves to making certain builds over others. Having to choose a background that doesn't make sense for your character just to get a starting companion whose abilities mesh well with yours is straight up awful. It'd be easier to forgive if the game was better and actually finished, but as it is now that aspect is what stops me from trying this game again.

It's a shame really, because a lot of the skills and abilities feel good to use, combat feels intense and tactical. It does a lot of things right, but then there's just not enough content despite being fully relased, the companion mishap and also a lot of silly noob traps in the beginning area make save scumming mandatory and slow down forward progress.

I hope Swordhaven grows into a better game when "2.0" (i.e. when yall are ACTUALLY done making a video game) comes out. There's a lot of CRPGS on the market now and I had high hopes for this one.
