Right from the title, Vulkaiser wholly embraces its homage to 1970s mecha anime. Still weird to think that both Armed Seven and Gigantic Army (which were originally produced after this game but ended up released on Steam before it) are supposed to be set in the following decades of the continuity kickstarted here!
While there is a charge weapon, regular shooting doesn't stop while it charges; in fact, launching the special attack is the only reason to release the fire button. It's a necessity because the enemy can get relentless at times, with swarms of small craft or robots filling the screen.
While equipped with a rocket punch, the basic robot isn't that powerful; at regular intervals, the VulCrafts piloted by his fellows, of course falling into classic stereotypes. Drill Kaiser is the most difficult to use properly given its short range but of course it allows to destroy even the biggest enemy ships quickly.
While not very detailed the graphics do their job perfectly, and some enemies are really funny, like the animal-shaped ones, or a boss that is the classic cigar-shaped UFO and is called Cigaringer. Same for the music, especially the boss theme.
A special note of merit goes to the localization, clearly made by someone who understands the era the game references, choosing to not change the original on-screen Japanese writing but rather put subtitles in the same font and color from VHS and early fansubs, for who's old enough to remember them.
Just like other Astro Port productions, it's very short, with a full run lasting about 20 minutes. However, good luck achieving that quickly outside of Easy, as enemies reveal even attacks and bullet patterns they don't have at lower difficulties. To make matters even more challenging, if a VulCraft is too damaged (and chances for a partial repair are only between levels) it's out of a run permanently, although I can see the satisfaction of a player who managed to extinguish the final boss with only the rocket punches. It can also be argued that while the weak point of Vulkaiser is constantly kept visible, it takes time to get used to it, as it's also not in the center of the robot.
It can feel, and in many aspects it is, barebones, with few options and no other power-ups beside the VulCrafts. But even after so many years (the first doujin release is from 2007), it's still quite fun, either for a quick play or to make a better run on Hard difficulty, and there are few other games with the same inspiration. And in 2026, it's perfect to fill the wait for the Geppy-X remaster!
For a buck or two, the game has some heart and theme.
Pretty typical shmup, and the style fits Hentenko Doujin's style: crappy homebrew games with a game mechanic twist. So if you are looking for a "B" movie equivalent in video games, then you've found your publisher haha.
Now, having taken that low jab, I have to say this game is great in short stretches. 6 levels, 2-3 mins long each. 70% of the achievements are easy to acquire. The bullet hell always seems manageable, and what will get you killed is primarily losing track of where your hitbox actually is given how big the player sprite is. Since the player hitbox is off-center from the player sprite, often times you might lose track and get cross-eyed dodging correctly as most shmups center the hitbox in the sprite.
Personally, I enjoy short and sweet shmups. I can do the 30-45 minute ones, but my brain gets exhausted, plus, spending that long then making a couple critical mistakes at the True Last Boss,,,,oof,,, here all the bosses are more than fair and do not spend too long on your doormat trying to convert you to Jesus.
Love the theme. If a Vulkaiser II came out I would be game for more short snippets of 70/80s anime character personalities.
The switching in and out of Kaiser components does add a touch of strategy, and you will want to preserve your buddy components as much as possible not only for score, but simply to give them the time to heal, so you have them when you need them and they can take a few more hits for you down the road.
Aight, definite recommend on sale. Not deep, but it's sweet.
Simple and fairly decent retro shoot 'em up with the only major flaw being the short length. It took me around 20 minutes at easy difficulty. At normal difficulty, becomes way more bullet hell, and I couldn't progress beyond level 4 (out of 6). I loved the giant robot theme reminding of Grendizer/Goldorak. It was different than the usual and gave personality. The music was good and appropriate to the theme. The best part, and the game's gimmick, was the four different crafts you could combine with during the level. Each combination attacked differently. The graphics were clear and colorful but low resolution and far from impressive. It controlled well. I wish the game had been twice the length, but you can get it on sale for a couple of bucks. (I didn't play 6 hours at time of review)
100% YES
game
I want to love this game it has great elements but the fact that you cant re map controls or pause the game in 2025 means thumbs down.
Fun polished little game, the difficulty spike is insane though, and doing 100% on this feels like a slog
It's a shoot'em up for old school Mech fans.... and it was $2
Simple Shoot Em Up.
A very short game with a few varieties of play style.
A few mission and some achievements.
But if you get it on a sale, it's a worthwhile
Just don't have too much hope on it.
4/10
it's okay
Ironman28, Voltron, Macross, Gundam, Liveman, G-Force are welcome (obviously, this is not a fighting nor BTMUP game).
With experience on my shoulders, I am not very thoughtful though, so here are my preferences in the genre:
- Horizontal orientation, full screen.
- Unsaturated screen for clear outlines, and a reasonable number of continues.
- A reasonable selection of items.
- Suggestive setting.
This one fits very well, with a great job.
PS: While I have seen here, it does not have continues nor an additional life.
Theme aside, if you have played any of Astro Ports other games, you can expect a lot of the same with this. Which is to say, it is; short, difficult, low resolution, extremely limited game settings and an ESC key that will close out your game, no questions asked, every time.
Some things of note on the game;
-This game has even less game options available than the previous games, which I would not think was possible.
-Music is good and very much a throw back to old school super robot shows. Unfortunately, it is also very loud and with no game options to adjust the audio.
-The game's overall story and presentation is pretty on point in regards to the super robot theme. It definitely hits that super robot vibe. Mostly in the style of Mazinger Z crossed with Red Baron. I wish Astro's other titles managed their theme as well as this one.
-Difficulty may not be quite as high as previous games, but it can still be rough, especially on higher difficulties.
-There are only 6 levels in the game, all fairly short, if you can survive them. Most of your playtime will be simply replaying levels to grind achievements.
Overall, if you have played AP's other shoot'em up games and liked them, you will probably also like this one.
If you have not played the others, but are bored looking for something to burn a few minutes on and like the theme or shoot'em up style games, and maybe have a buck to spare during a sale, it is probably worth giving a try.
All I can say is: GATTAI!!!

**Supercharged Robot VULKAISER Review: A Turbo-Powered Tribute to Classic Mech Action**
*Rating: 8.5/10*
In a world where giant robots clash in epic battles, *Supercharged Robot VULKAISER* carves out its own unique niche as a love letter to the classic mech genre while adding its own turbocharged twist. The game takes you on a high-octane journey where you pilot the mighty VULKAISER, a super-powered mech designed to save humanity from an oncoming alien invasion. It's a frantic, action-packed experience that both honors the genre's roots and pushes the boundaries of what we expect from a modern mech brawler.
**Gameplay: Overdrive Mode Engaged!**
At its core, *VULKAISER* offers a blend of fast-paced action and intense robot combat, reminiscent of *Armored Core* and *Zone of the Enders*. You’ll spend most of your time smashing through hordes of enemies in a variety of environments, from urban cities to desolate alien landscapes. The combat is satisfying with tight controls that allow you to seamlessly chain together powerful melee combos, ranged attacks, and devastating special moves.
The game doesn’t shy away from its inspirations. The battles are chaotic but controlled, demanding both quick reflexes and strategic thinking to stay ahead of overwhelming forces. The visual effects, especially when unleashing VULKAISER's ultimate "Supercharged" attacks, are nothing short of spectacular, with explosions, sparks, and shockwaves filling the screen in a cinematic frenzy.
**Visuals: A Love Letter to the Mech Genre**
One of the standout features of *Supercharged Robot VULKAISER* is its art direction. The game blends traditional 2D sprite-based animations with 3D models, creating a striking visual style that feels both retro and modern at the same time. The VULKAISER mech itself is a hulking, dynamic piece of engineering, designed to look like a perfect mix of vintage and futuristic tech. Its fluid animations, especially during combos or transformations, are a testament to the developers’ attention to detail.
The environments are equally impressive, with each level offering varied settings that range from neon-lit cyberpunk cities to barren alien landscapes. The color palette is vibrant and eye-catching, which complements the energetic tone of the game.
**Story: Retro with a Dash of Heart**
While the story isn’t particularly groundbreaking, it serves as a perfect backdrop to the relentless action. The plot is straightforward: alien invaders known as "The Void" have arrived, and it’s up to the VULKAISER to take them down. The charm of the game lies in how it leans into its B-movie, Saturday morning cartoon vibe—complete with over-the-top villains and cheesy dialogue that feels endearing rather than cringeworthy.
The relationship between the protagonist and their mech is explored in brief moments of downtime between battles, where you're reminded of the human element behind the mechanical destruction. It’s not the most complex narrative, but it’s enough to keep you invested in the ride.
**Sound Design: Revving Up the Action**
The soundtrack of *VULKAISER* is pure adrenaline. With pounding rock guitar riffs and epic orchestral compositions, the music does an incredible job of amplifying the excitement of every battle. Whether you’re battling hordes of enemies or facing off against a massive boss, the score ramps up the intensity. The sound effects are equally impactful, from the thundering footsteps of the mech to the shrieks of alien invaders.
Voice acting, while minimal, adds to the charm, with exaggerated, dramatic performances that make the characters feel larger than life.
**Replayability: Full Throttle Action**
For those who thrive on replay value, *Supercharged Robot VULKAISER* delivers in spades. With multiple difficulty levels, hidden secrets, upgradeable mechs, and unlockable content, you’ll find plenty of reasons to dive back into the cockpit. Boss fights are particularly satisfying to replay, as you can approach them with different strategies, weapons, and tactics depending on the mech upgrades you’ve unlocked.
**Final Verdict: A Thrilling Mech Experience**
*Supercharged Robot VULKAISER* may not reinvent the wheel, but it does everything right within its genre. It’s a high-energy, nostalgic mech brawler with solid gameplay, an engaging visual style, and a soundtrack that will keep your heart racing. If you’re a fan of giant robots, flashy combat, and retro-inspired aesthetics, this game is a must-play.
In a world full of introspective, story-heavy experiences, it’s refreshing to have a game that just wants to let you unleash chaos with a giant robot. With *VULKAISER*, the action never stops, and neither will your enjoyment.
A truly classic style arcade game, full of love and effort while also being the tiniest file size ive ever seen on steam. I never have any reason to delete this.
Adorkable.
Has a cool mechanic where you need to periodically take your finger off the fire button to launch a special attack. I suppose it would actually be better if you just auto-fired, & pressed a button to launch the attack, but it works well enough as is.

Corny, Cheap, with a heavy touch of japanese ways to present stuff. Loving it. Of course if you are looking for the best SHMUP that is not it but if you are just casually entertaining yourself then it is good for the time it lasts, plus the nostalgia depending on how old you are.
I mean for how much I paid, it is very subjective but I'd give it 7/10 with recommendation for steam deckers looking to feed their handled with tiny treats such this one.
A fun shmup with some humor.
Gameplay is solid. I like the mechanics.
Hopefully this genre persists and more people play this game.

My main problem is theres no Vulkaiser 2 :(

esclamato con accento giapponese "GO! VULLOKAIZAAAAA!!!"
Fantastic
has cool mechanics, good sound design, a interesting story. just genuinely a fun side shooter
JUEGAZO 😎👍💛🌟
QUem é fã do anime deve gostar. Eu dropei e pedi reembolso
Is that a bird? Is that a plane? No, it's Supercharged Robot VULKAISER!
The game is a pretty fun and solid horizontal scrolling SHMUP (shoot 'em up), with an old school robot anime aesthetic, which looks pretty good.
Gameplay wise, it's pretty simple; Keep a key/button pressed to shoot, and occasionally release it to unleash a stronger attack (which charges while you're firing at a pretty fast rate), press it again to continue shooting. Occasionally, you get the chance to combine your flying robot with different aircrafts, named VulFighters, which changes your attack type and pattern and allow you to do more damage; some are more useful than others. VulFighters will also take damage, and can be destroyed; once that happens, you won't have that available for the rest of the game.
Compared to many other SHMUPs, your screen isn't completely filled with extra large bullets and explosions (yours or otherwise), so you can actually see what's coming your way and are able to avoid them much easier. The hitbox is also just a rectangle near the center of the robot (in the form of a glowing circle), so the rest of the robot is immune from damage. Taking damage will not outright destroy you, only lower your energy; however, once the robot is out of commission, it's game over; you have no additional lives (your robot gets partially repaired at the end of each mission).
During missions you get text snippets of story character dialog, though it's mostly cheesy one liners. After a mission you get a summary of your performance, in the form of a character dialog, which is different, depending on how you do (like if you barely made it out alive, while damaging most of your robot, or if a VulFighter is totaled beyond repair), which is pretty nice.
While the game is fun, it's a barebones arcade to PC port. You have absolutely no settings/options (you cannot chance the resolution, audio volume, redefine keys, etc), you cannot save or select a level (once your robot is destroyed, it's game over, and you start from the beginning).
What's worse, is that you can only use a keyboard or a gamepad. You cannot use mouse controls for movement, even though the manual states that you can (you can only use the mouse buttons to shoot), and fight/arcade sticks don't seem to be supported (mine didn't work). So, I was forced to use the keyboard and change the key layout using AutoHotKey; it's playable, though using the mouse of arcade stick to control the movement would have been much better and more accurate (unsurprisingly, playing with a gamepad is much worse than a keyboard, as they are utter garbage, and have extremely low accuracy).
The game is rather short, but it can be challenging, and it has several difficulty levels. For its low price, it's worth it.
10/10 would drill the Drill Kaiser girl
It's a very fun shoot-em-up! I've had this installed for many years and it's great to just fire up when you want to burn some time on a quick game. It's straight-forward to get into and the graphics are satisfyingly retro-inspired. Also quite challenging without being too punishing.
Absolute Peak Of Fiction.
This game has potentially lethal levels of SOUL. If you're a fan of old school mecha and/or looking for a cheap, arcadey shoot-em-up, definitely worth giving this a shot.
I absolutely love this game. I don't do reviews on this platform often, but I will definitely leave on for this one! The level of detail that the devs were able to achieve in this game is truly awe-inspiring, but even more so this game is just plain FUN!! Which is what it should be all about! Please give this game a try and support this developer. One of the few bullet-hell games and arcade shooters I absolutely love. I wish I had an arcade stick to play it, because man I could just imagine how awesome that gameplay would be. All smiles on this side and money well spent. Definitely worth every cent of it's asking price.
I'm going to go with a very luke-warm recommend. Robot Vulkaiser has a lot of charm in its premise, and it could have even done a better job capitalizing on that. You pilot a 1970s style anime giant robot with the special attack of thunderball fists. During the level you'll get the chance to combine with another pilot module to change attack. This ranges from missiles with an explosion attack, a rapid fire needle attack, a wide ranged thunder attack and a powerful close ranged drill attack. However, each module has its own life bar, and when the module is destroyed you lose access to it for the remainder of your play through.
More than 3/4 of the enemy bullets fire at the place your giant robot is on screen. With some of the bigger enemies, mid-level bosses and end of level bosses having rudimentary bullet patterns. And if it were not for the sheer volume of fire, the game would be fairly easy. But that doesn't change that the game is rather shallow. The location of you giant robot's actual hitbox takes some getting used to. But the game is very clear to where it is located.
I'm mixed about the graphics. As the game is clearly going for an 1970s Japanese cartoon style, but I also can't help to think the game was a little lazy about the graphical assets too. The sound and music is good, if lacking in variety. The game tries to frame levels as individual episodes, but doesn't go any further than that. Which I find a shame, as Robot Vulkaiser could have been a lot of fun with some campy cut scenes at the start and end of levels. Even if just still images.
Ultimately, Robot Vulkaiser is a simple and shallow, shmup with an interesting theme that should have been explored further. It's fine as an extreme budget title, but could have been more if a little more polish and effort was put in.
An easy recommend for fans of old anime style- bullet hell/shmup sidescroller
Pilot sidescrolling anime-ish Power Ranger / Voltron-esque mechs through SHMUP-ish gameplay with Silverhawx style pilots. Has Combine! attacks with each of the crew members to transform your ship, its weapon/firing pattern, and special attack. Multiple bosses and cool music. Not too hard. A how you say... simplistic but fun GG.

The game plays very similar to R-Type, if you are old enough to remember it. Back in the Super Nintendo days there were tons of games just like this one floating around and I enjoyed them quite a bit, dodging your enemies while attacking as quick as you can so you don’t get overwhelmed. The graphics are 16-bit pixel art style with a smooth flow of gameplay. The game renders in 4:3 which is meant for an old tube style television. This game can easily run on any computer built in modern times.
You start the game immediately in battle and after a short time you can upgrade your robot using one of 4 accompanying ships. A drill, a rocket pack, a lightning pack, and a needle gun. Each has advantages and disadvantages. I quickly found my favorite one to be the drill attachment, as it makes your robot a moving destruction god! All aside though each are really good in their own right and it makes for a variety that is quite refreshing to even an experienced gamer. Going through each level of bullet and enemy hell you find yourself with a good challenge and action packed gameplay. After each mission there is a dialogue screen that allows you to get into the story of Vulkaiser, While Generic Mecha anime troupe it is still something fans of the genre can get into and enjoy!
While there’s not a lot of writing in the game, it’s a very straightforward style of bullet hell game that keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire time from beginning to when you eventually die or beat the game. Probably more the former than the latter. In the Hour I played I was able to get to the 5th level where you start fighting off an alien threat, each of the enemies throughout the levels were challenging in their own right, the harder levels have giant mobs that you have to dodge in a very small area in order to not get hit. The game even goes so far as to show you what your hitbox is at the beginning so that you can see exactly what you have to dodge with.
Let’s get on with the ratings:
Gameplay 4 Gems:
The gameplay is extremely intuitive with how you work, it shows easily from the start how the game works and the game ramps up slowly enough for you to understand how enemies work. The game is not easy, but not difficult either.
Graphics 3 Gems:
16 bit graphics, it’s not going to blow anyone away, the designs are cool for all the creatures, robots, etc. Very reminiscent of Megaman, Voltron, Power rangers and the like. Still without feeling Generic. Overall Not perfect but still very good
Difficulty: 3.5 Gems
The difficulty of the game is able to be set from easy as easy gets to hardcore, With your upgrades being separate parts of the actual robot that can be permanently destroyed it adds another layer of difficulty that forces you to strategize instead of simply murder hoboing the game.
Soundtrack: 4 Gems
The game feel is made by the gameplay and the soundtrack, The sound of the game sets a superhero tone, Like you’re a pilot of one of the lions in Voltron being one of the defenders of the universe! I very much enjoy the entire soundtrack, from the title menu to the death screens.
Immerson: 4 Gems
Once you’re in the game snaps your attention right to it and keeps you there up until the end of each level, even someone like me who can’t pay attention due to lack of funds, is caught completely as soon as the stage starts. High level of immersion
Overall Ranking: 3.75 Gems
Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser may be difficult to say but it encapsulates perfectly the genre it’s portraying. While there are a few better choices out there to waste some time on a Friday afternoon, I can assure you that you will never be disappointed playing this game, even competing with friends on who can get further faster, or high score battles. The combination of Nostalgia for the older audiences and the fun factor for the younger audiences, this game is not only Family friendly, but encourages people to get together and have a good time.
My Thoughts:
The game is very well encoded, immediately sets a Mecha manga tone and plays with no bugs whatsoever. The game is very fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. And while the game isn’t long, but it is very engaging and entertaining to make up for it. The battle system is well coded and everything seems to be done with passion, and who doesn’t respect passion for an artform.
So, Is the game worth 4.99? It’s an easy decision, if you are a fan of the genre, absolutely, I’d pay full price every time, if it does go on sale, still pick it up. It’s a great game for the price regardless. You’ll not be disappointed in your purchase.

Got to love the trailer!

Jogo muito bom, pra quem curte o gênero, prato cheio.
Fun stg with a super robot aesthetic
Honestly, it's a serviceable SHMUP. Nothing amaze-balls, but it's solid and the levels are quite fun.
You also have only one life and can't pause, but the levels are short and challenging enough that you probably won't mind restarting from scratch over and over.
I'd recommend it for $1, or in a bundle.
Love it! It's like that one spoon of cereal where the oat to raisin ration is spot on.

Well, I really like the style of 1970s robot anime. This is the first time that I can get a lot of achievements from ASTRO PORT games. Their games are interesting, but too hard to me.

This little game is a winner. Absolutely love the aesthetic. Pretty solid hori underneath it too. Feels reasonably old school but also has a ton of bullets at times.
Supercharged Robot VULKAISER is a fast-paced, side-scrolling shooter that brings back that old-school arcade feel with modern polish. You pilot a giant robot packed with powerful weapons and abilities, blasting through waves of enemies and massive bosses in a relentless, adrenaline-fueled experience.
The gameplay is intense and satisfying, combining smooth controls with plenty of firepower and movement options. There’s a great sense of speed and impact, making every battle feel exciting and rewarding. Each level is packed with enemies and hazards that keep you on your toes, and the boss fights add a nice challenge that tests your skills without feeling unfair.
Visually, the game has a vibrant, retro-inspired style with detailed pixel art and effects that pop on screen. The soundtrack amps up the energy with high-octane tunes that perfectly match the action.
I recommend Supercharged Robot VULKAISER because it’s a fantastic pick for anyone who loves classic shooter gameplay with a modern twist. It’s challenging but fair, fast but controlled, and overall just a blast to play. Whether you’re into mechs, shooters, or just want something that delivers pure, unfiltered arcade action, this game hits the mark. 10/10
The premise and presentation carry a lot of weight here. I watched Mazinger Z and the Tastsunoko shows that briefly aired in the West in the 1980s. This game is a warm and fuzzy homage to those shows. The gameplay itself is pretty generic but not offensively so. You buy this game for the amazing shell it is wrapped in.
Just know, the opening animated trailer you see on this page is NOT in the game itself (the install is 46.5MB total). Still, you will get hot flashes when you play it. LET'S KAISER!! GO! GO!
I love this game so much. A must play for any fans of Mazinger, Getter Robo, or just classic Japanese cheese in general. Definitely the most stylish and aesthetic game ASTROPORT has ever put out, but their other games are great too!

Amazing.
Horizontal shmup with a giant anime robot theme. Weapon upgrade and combination system. Nice presentation. Music is an acquired taste. Takes some tweaks to get running on newer systems.

What a fun little shooter, it's premiss of old school Japanese giant robot series is really well done.
Très bons graphismes. Grande esthétique Mazinger Z des années 70. Bon son. Mais mauvais et ennuyeux comme shmup.
4/10
Even though I do not really like shmups, I enjoyed Supercharged Robot VULKAISER immensely. It is brief, but the characters and presentation is charming as hell. And there is like a million enemies on the screen at all times. It is marvelous. As a bonus, there is an easy mode for us people, who like to play games wrong. 4/5
Short but fun !
I grew up on Voltes V and Getter Robo, so this is wonderfully nostalgic to me. Supercharged Robot VULKAISER is as simple as shmups get; screen scrolls, enemies shoot, you shoot back while dodging projectiles. There aren't any massively impressive gimmicks here or anything new to the genre. There are no power-ups, you only get the chance to "Combine" your mecha to different forms throughout each level. Levels are simple and straightforward, with one mini-boss and a stage boss. You've seen it all before and you'll see it again.
I'm recommending it purely for the theme. It is designed to look and sound like those 1970s mecha anime shows. There is no story per se, but it is about a team of five color-coded pilots, each with their own vehicle, who Vulkaiser can gattai with to gain different abilities. Each level starts with a card reminiscent of an episode title card and ends with a piece of dialogue /advice from the last team member you were combined with. The music is instant nostalgia-train to the face, if you've ever watched those shows back in the '70s-'80s.
Not that gameplay isn't good, mind you; it's simple, but it works perfectly. Enemy projectiles are clean and obvious, Vulkaiser's hitbox is small (and the game points directly to it), controls are tight, the different mecha configurations add a layer of strategy (however basic) to the game.
The game does offer different difficulty levels to play around with, which is good, but from now on I'm docking points from any shmup that doesn't have a proper "training" mode on PC. That 1CC should be a goal, not a punishment. Perhaps I'm just mis-remembering things, but the appeal of the arcade experience when I was a kid didn't revolve around running out of quarters and crying into my milkshake.
That aside and much as I enjoy this little thing, I *would* recommend picking it up on a sale. It's surprisingly effective as a nostalgia trip and it's fun to play, but 5-ish bucks are too much for a fairly short shmup that doesn't add a whole lot to the genre. Pick it up for three during a sale; two bucks might sound like an insignificant price difference, but these are two bucks you can invest in another Astro Port shmup; because these guys make pretty good stuff, in all of their simplicity.
Like being a kid once again, reliving the 70's watching my favorite tatsunoko shows...
The visuals are top notch. The soundtrack is euphoric. The controls are super intuitive. You have your octagonal-directional movement (that's movement in 8 directions) and a shot button - that's it! Like I said, super intuitive and you immediately snap into it.
This game has the best prompt message disguised as a setting option of all time.
Where the hell did this bullet hell come from, and how did it end up in my Steam library!?
Excelente juego de Astroport, música de buen nivel!!!
Anyone who is a fan of 1970s Super Robot Japanimation / Anime should love this one. Highly recommended for Shooter (Shmup) fans as it encapsulates all of the nuances and greatness of the era of Mazinger Z, GRENDIZER, Gettar Robo G and more. I don't like the fact that the game is a one kill and "Game Over" affair, as this IS a *Bullet Hell* type shooter, but that said, the game isn't entirely super hard either, even on hard. It's no cakewalk though.

GATTAI! A wonderful throwback to the 80s Super Robot phenomena of Japan. By today's shmup standards, it's a pretty simple affair but the novelty of changing forms doesn't wear off faster than it takes to complete the game. Clearly a labor of love by the developers and totally worth playing.
This game is a really good Japanese Shoot Em' Up. Fun Power ups and story. Really feels like one of those old arcade games.
Not much to say about this, it was a humble purchase and it belongs that way. I'm a fan of bullet hell games, shoot em ups and similar genres so i figured this would scratch that itch and at the end I was disappointed. The audio wasn’t anything impressive, and visually speaking there were enough instances of sprite clipping that I saw it when the game became hectic. As a game its playable, and scratches the surface of 90’s arcade shoot em ups, but misses for me any real enjoyment at the end of the day.
If you don’t have to pay for the game it’s worth a play, but if you are looking to spend some money on that feeling from the arcades back in the day there are better options worth your time.
Horizontal shoot em up done in the style of a 70s anime giant robot anime. Other pilots will shot up on screen at different points of each stage and running into one of the four of them will transform you into a different type of robot with different attacks. Your base attack is modified by the change, holding the attack down will charge a meter for a more powerful attack based on your transformation, and you get one bomb style move when you transform. One life, minor repairs between missions both to your main robot and for the pilots that allow you to transform, and four difficulties to choose from. Short, but fun and low priced.
Due to the low resolution, unlocking Steam achievements in game tends to cause them to cover large parts of the screen and have a good chance of getting you damaged or killed.

Very fun to play for the price. I like these types of shooters. It does however need a pause button.
Minha primeira vez jogando :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-IM_77SoNo
