Don't let the bizarre appearance of this game fool you. Streets of Fury is a scrolling beat 'em up that's much less banal than it seems. Despite the comical effect of the artstyle, the combat system includes block-breaks, cancels, parries, and many other mechanics that make it fun and technical in its own way.

As a long time fan of Beat em Ups, coming form the 90's myself, this is just an absolute gem. Unhinged, a parody and the game knows and embraces it. It has a lot more depth than you'd ever think, a serious amount of game content and unlockables.
This game combines fighting game and beat em ups in a classic yet amazing fashion.
It features people like Le Joueur Du Grenier, Bob Lennon, Benzaie. But also Kevin Hart, Kayane and the Nostalgia Critic. An absolute gem for a fun time alone or with friends.

The city is on fire with criminals, you been summoned to fight them all for the justice and glory of France and the FCG! Play up to 4 players with 26 (28?) playable Heroes and Villains as they take back France together.

Campaign!:
There are two plans: A and B. B is locked until you do A.
Plan "A": Streets of Rage style, beat up all bad guys. You fight every bad guy with all your might and strength as the players need to reach the tower that is holding the last boss. However you are just a four man team.
Take them on!
Plan "B": "What is yours is mine": Recruit the squad of Villains as the leader of France as you take out the bad boss. With a side plot that you need to know: there is a Villain or two that isn't getting recruited...
Level of Difficult: Very Easy to INSANE! *If you are taking on INSANE, you will need all 4 players to stand their ground as they do either plans.
Challenge Mode: Test your skills for 3 stars as you prepare for an extra set of content for all playing modes.
(Try to take less damage, even if you are a 4 player squad!)
Survival Mode: Horde Mode, try to last longer for each round.
Vs Mode: You know what this is, have fun.
Training Mode: Try out The Heroes skills againist the bots, figure how to hook your fury moves and combo out.

How much was it when you got it: It was on xbox 360 via the Indie tab for 799 Points? and it made to steam as 10 USDs with tax.. so if you want to know it is the nearly same price it was on xbox as of right now. But I got it during the sale for the 10th year update.. for only 1 USD.. you missed the sale y'all.
Does it run: YES, even on your phone. Remember to use a controller tho.
This is Guard Crush's first game also, their other game is with Dotemu for Streets of Rage 4 and something else (My fault for not remembering...)

Is there bugs for this game?: NO. But for some reason on linux when using DXVK: Bob Lennon's Gold Version is glitched out on the effect in the wrong layer. So Bob is not looking hot with that effect screwed out on him.
Dark Ben is okay still.
What is new in this last update? THE PLAYER FROM THE ATTIC has joined with his best friend: SEB (BAZAAR in English words..) So Fred and Bazaar are now playable characters! (IT TOOK 20 DAYS! from the last update this is a hotfix to put them in.)

Streets of Fury EX is a Beat'Em Up game, and an improved version of the old Streets of Fury game.
Play alone or with friends locally, using the myriad of characters, moves and furies to destroy your enemies.
[h2] Pros: [/h2]
- There's a lot of content. 26 different characters, 109 different supers, an insane amount of moves per character compared to most Beat'Em Ups.
2 Campaigns, along a Custom mode allowing you to change the game in different ways. 2 PvP modes, a Survival mode, multiple Challenges, and a Tag mode that allows you to bring 2 characters and swap between them at any time.
It feels like a Beat'Em Up sandbox. You can waste hours on Training mode alone discovering what each character is capable of.
- The music is great. There's a decent variety in the soundtrack, and most of them can play on Training mode, so you won't get bored while beating up the training dummy.

- No online co-op, this really screws with harder difficulties, which is designed on having multiple players.
- Bad game design.
You can get hit during some cutscenes if you move too far, or even softlock the game if you hit an enemy during it.
The camera sucks, it's too zoomed in and it has a mind of its own. This leads to moments where enemies already begin their attack animation off-screen, or just straight up hit you off-screen.
New enemies constantly spawn out of nowhere with no warning.
Enemies have colored variants that do different things, but it's impossible to tell them apart in the middle of the chaos.
It's hard to tell in which lane enemies are, and being in the lane closest to the background makes it hard to see where you are if there's enemies nearby in other lanes. I wish enemies in other lanes became transparent when they're not in the same lane as you.
Way too many enemies have super armor for no reason.
Playing this game on the hardest difficulty is a nightmare. It throws in way too many enemies at once, even causing lag due to some areas having over 20 enemies simultaneously. Half of the characters don't have great crowd control, so they feel horrible to play in there.
Some enemies can freeze the player, this should be removed entirely. This allows players to be comboed for an insane amount of time. There was a time where my character's dead body was being juggled for [b] 40 SECONDS [/b] and there was nothing I could do about it. I could not respawn until they dropped the combo.
- The Plan A campaign has really bad sections: 14- Hip Hop Hideout, 15- Hip Hop Beating, 17- Eiffel Tower.
14: A single lane with problematic enemies that constantly spawn out of nowhere. Just add another lane to this section.
15: Boss that can freeze you. Just remove the freeze.
17: Spam enemies that can freeze you. Again, just remove the dumb freeze.
- And then, we have the worst thing in this game. The second campaign: Plan B
Instead of just defeating the gang leaders, you try to make them join you instead. This is not a bad idea on paper, however, the first 2 allies you get are horrible.
You probably heard the phrase "Better than nothing", right? It genuinely would be better if these 2 dudes weren't here.
Jay C. Binkman, the first one, sucks. He takes forever to start shooting. And if you try to juggle or air combo nearby, you can't because he will shoot that enemy, launching them far away from you with his gun.
And then we have MC Manhattan, the worst travesty in this game. The main gimmick of this character is his dropkick, he does it in almost all cutscenes, and the playable version has 5 different dropkicks. The sound he makes when he dropkicks is used for the level up, and is even reused for Max's dropkick in Streets of Rage 4. So guess what the ally version never does? The dropkick. What he does instead is a garbage kick that launches the enemy, preventing you from doing ground combos if you're near him.
So now we have the deadly combination of clown that prevents you from doing juggles and bozo that prevents you from doing ground combos. Surely it can't get worse than that right?
Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, the worst section I have ever played in a Beat'Em Up: Stage 6- Tough Negotiations.
This area introduces the Truck enemy, an enemy that hits the ground, creating a explosion. This enemy is problematic on its own, massive hitbox, super armor, and he breaks your guard if you try to block.
This already sounds bad enough, but for some reason this area spams that enemy. You will constantly get hit by him from off-screen due to your stupid allies triggering his attacks.
The attack can be avoided by jumping... until the game spawn enemies that anti-air you... peak game design right here.
You also need to fight a boss before you get into this section, and you don't get healed after defeating him.
This area is the worst part of the game and [b] needs [/b] to be changed. Make it so there can only be 1 Truck at a time. Dude is a walking hazard, it should never have more than 1. I don't care if you have to buff him to compensate, just make so the player doesn't have to deal with multiples of the guy.
And this isn't the only poorly designed enemy, stage 11- That Guy is Dinamyte, introduces a kamikaze enemy, and they also suck.
They have too much armor and way too much health. The best strategy is to just let your allies activate their explosions so you don't have to deal with them.
He needs to be reworked. Make it so he now has less stamina and only 1 hp. If he blows up on his own, the explosion deals more damage than before on your team, but deals barely any damage on his team. However, if you kill the enemy, he instantly explodes, doing a lot of damage to your enemies, and no damage at all to your team.
This is a Beat'Em Up, I should have a reason to get close and beat the enemies up, instead of sitting in a corner waiting for them to blow up.
There's some other areas I have a problem too, like 13- Taking Care Of The Family having questionable hurtboxes, and 14- An Offer You Can't Refuse, both having really annoying boss fights.
- Defensive mechanics
There's 5. Counter, Dodge, Tech, Block and Parry. And I have a problem with most of them, also the tutorial doesn't explain that Tech and Dodge allows you to go into different lanes.
Counter is the worst. It needs a bigger hitbox, more damage, and multiple hits to properly deal with armored enemies.
Dodging is pretty much useless. It needs to allow the player to clip through enemies when you do it.
Techs needs more I-frames.
Parry is way too powerful and works on most attacks, it freezes the enemy and makes them take +50% damage. It needs the damage boost removed.
- While I did praise the huge amount of moves the characters have, this is also a detriment. Alot of moves are weak or just useless, so you end up using just half of your character's moveset.
- Various youtubers and other famous people are playable. While this is cool, those people often do some stupid stuff in real life, which could taint the game if they do so.

This game is a 6/10, it's a good game, and I really like it, but it has a lot of flaws.
I'm gonna be honest, the first time I saw this game, I didn't buy it, it looked rough and more of a joke. Until I discovered that the people behind Streets of Rage 4 (a game I have over 300 hours on the PS4) also made this. So I bought it, and it did not disappoint.
It's wild to see Guard Crush Games start from making a silly game on Xbox 360, to releasing a better version on Steam, to doing the next Streets of Rage, and now Absolum.
Who would have thought that 10 years later they would be making better Beat'Em Ups, when they started from something so simple. They even updated the game 10 years after.

This game is absolutely absurd and I mean it in the best way possible. It's got a lot of charm and it's absolutely silly beyond belief. The gameplay itself is actually really fun and there's quite a bit of replay value. Just be aware that it's incredibly arcadey with limited continues and sometimes cheap and unfair enemy AI. I personally love games like this because so few game developers take risks anymore and just make whatever is popular at the time. Also, the fact that there's a bunch of content creators in this game, including Doug, the Nostalgia Critic, is pretty cool. Also shout out to the Come Back in 10 years update!

Nostalgic Beat'em Up style game. Video capture animation like the first Mortal Kombat. Featuring a couple of content creators I'm familiar with. Easy to learn. Difficult to master. I keep coming back to this game every now and then, and trying to find those infinitely long combos like in Killer Instinct.

I will talk a bit more about the gameplay because many have commented on other aspects.
Streets of Fury Ex is fun and interesting to play because it has more depth in combat than is usual for a beat em up. This game features more aspects you would expect of a fighting game, in terms of mechanics. You have the basics moves and special moves, blocking, parry but you have combos, launches and air combos, ground bounces.
I am sure there is probably a lot of advanced combos you could do, but you don’t need to be an expert to do combos. There is a bit of hit stun and other little things to make it easier to combo. So you can kind of make them up on the spot.
You can unlock enemies to use as well.
A game that doesn’t take it self seriously, and you can do lots of crazy combos and funny moves without a lot of practice.
But it can still be a challenging game. You won’t just walk through all of its modes with no effort.
GOAT, the way games should be made. Street Fighter has some competition!

I forgot I had this until I was looking up another game in my library with the word "street" in it.
I remembered hours of playing with friends, slightly sozzled and laughing our asses out at how unabashedly stupid this is, it's intentionally tacky, cheep looking like a 90's fmv experience.
The most important thing is the silliness is captivating, and I found myself repeating over and over "this is so f**king stupid" while laughing

システム部分は良く出来ていて最初はバカゲーの雰囲気も相まって楽しいのですが、しっかりプレイするとその気持ち良さが敵からのハメで打ち消されすべてが台無しと言うのが分かってきます。
ストーリーモード的なものは道中回復が一切なくミスが許されません。
被ダメージ中に超必殺技で復帰できるようにすれば良かったらまだマシだったと思うのですが、そもそも超必殺技に無敵が付いておらず、一部の技は長時間無駄に殴るので一方的に潰される場面も多いです。
敵の攻撃も非常に陰湿なものが多く、防御してもしばらく拘束される攻撃とか、無駄に時間が長いものが多いのも陰湿。
1撃でガードを崩してくる敵、無条件で攻撃したらカウンター出してくる敵、ラインを越えて範囲攻撃してくる敵など、かなり適当に配置していてレベルデザインが全くできていないのもかなりイライラします。
スタミナゲージがガードも兼ねているのも本当にマイナス要因にしかならず良くないです。
どうやら面白さをマイナス要素でストレスレベルにするのがこの制作スタッフのスタイルみたいですね。
どう見てもネタゲーだけど、操作性もいいし、キャラごとのモーションも作りこまれてる、

Bought this game thinking there's no way this is actually a game.
Booted it up, played a bit and ended up realising; THIS IS A DAMN GOOD GAME.
Game is pretty funny 1st time playing but it has no replay value.. 10 mins into playing i'm bored and looking for something else to play. it'll def rot and collect dust on my steam shelf.

駄目だよくわからん。
けどなんかこれ聞きたくてついそればっかりやっちゃうわ。
またろくでもないもん作ったなあという感じで紹介見ただけで半笑いだったのだが、実際にプレイしてみて驚き。
これ初期プレイアブルキャラだけで12人もいる。
ロックかかっているキャラもいるしまだ増えるのか。20人超えている。
しかもちゃんと女性キャラまでおる。
どんだけ本格的なのさという話。
各キャラがなんか聞いたことありげな舌足らずな言葉を叫びながらそれっぽい技を繰り出す。
このkayaneって日本人名なんだろうか。
使っているのはまんま逆さに浮いて回転しているあれだし……いやそれ中国人の技なんだけど。
もうこの辺眺めるだけで十分笑わせてもらって元は取ったかも。
ゲームは3ライン式のベルスク。
ライン移動は餓◯伝説ぽい。
ベルスクみたいな細かい軸ずらしではないので移動に大きなモーションが挟まる。
12人いても使う技が違うだけでコマンドは同じだしそこまで変化はなさげ。
コンボは簡単だが繋がる分ダメージも低く、1度や2度かました程度でさくさく倒せはしない。
Rを押しながらなんて技もあり、思った以上にごちゃごちゃしている。
パリィもある。エリアルも。システム覚えるだけで一苦労だな。
ゲームとしてはこの複雑さを乗り越えられるなら面白くなりそう。
ただベルスク特有の「ワンパなハメを作ってひたすらそれやるだけ」な悪さもやっぱり覗くので、人によっては飽き早いかも。
それよりネタゲーとして誰かにやらせて傍で笑うとか、そういう用途の方が良さそうかなと思った。
開始5分のポテンシャルを超えられる気がしない。
正しくインディーゲーって感じかな。
