Top down shooter with random generated maps. Not everyhting is what it seems... blast aliens, robots and other scumbags into space while listening to some dubstep music. You can choose from a few different classes and wreck havoc around the spaceship like an mlg pro looking for mtn dew and doritos. Overall plays well, tight controls, different abilities and weapons of destruction. You can dash and move swiftly as a swan. You will encounter magnets which change trajectory of your bullets, telepads and lots of different foes. Visual side is average but much customizable (mostly scaling). It's ok to play for a bit but after that remember about your favorite games in your library. Slight recommendation (don't buy unless you have to).

It's pretty fun but not that hard. It's definitely a bullet hell, don't get me wrong, but with the vast majority of bullets being slow, it isn't too difficult. There's lots of enemy, boss, and item variety, especially when you factor in the DLC, with each enemy being unique. The only major gripe I have is that primary weapons don't drop very often. I only get one or two per run if I'm lucky.
Pick it up when it's on discount, it's still a pretty decent game.

It's not a bad game for a run or two, but it suffers from the same one-two issue combo as most roguelikes: balance is non-existing, yet there's not enough difference between different runs.
Also it can be very hard to tell apart your bullets and the enemy's bullets, even with fairly basic weapons: with certain weapons/upgrades/friendly drones, you'll be lucky to even notice there's an enemy somewhere under the 100s of overlapping effects.

Здесь тоже критично знание английского, потому что описания предметов даны изначально. Хорошо, что пишут описание предметов, но жаль видеть отсутствие русского перевода. Графически же игра не особо впечатлила. Тут всё какое-то минималистичное. Попадаются тёмные комнаты, где вообще ничего толком не видать.
Игре бы больше графической доработки и русский перевод, тогда можно позависать. Тут по крайней мере нет той уже надоевшей рвотно-блевотной стилистики из Айзека.
This game design is pretty terrible. Such a lengthy and tedious tutorial that doesn't even teach you what you need to know. The gameplay doesn't even seem compelling enough to make you want to get to the end of it.

Really wanted to like the game but with the amount of bullet sponge enemies in the game and just, god awful decisions (why is seeing your hit dot a conditional thing?!?) makes it just barely not enjoyable
Cheap and uninspired; I couldn't play through more than a few minutes of such incredibly boring blandness. Truly a waste of hard drive space.
I like that you can easily jump into a game, play for a few minutes, and then go and be productive. The game is fun but is not a major time sink.

Controls are pretty wonky, the tutorial feels hastily made, you can skip text just by walking fast and even miss parts of it if you take a different path.
And yeah, that sums it up, its a bullet hell with wonky controls, the feedback for when getting hit or hitting enemies is not very visible and the UI could use more work as well.
Graphics are okish, but they feel like flash game graphics tbh.
Kudos to the developer, but not for me in this case.

Game is pretty cool and fun. It's a twin stick shooter. I like to play as the 2nd ship which has a huge flamethrower. Bullets move slowly so you can dodge.
Negatives:
Text is very small. It's hard to see how many missiles and secondary I have left. It's also unclear how the secondary recharges. The items need rebalancing- It is not worth it to spend MAX hp on some item. Spending more than half my max hp on a minor upgrade is definitely not worth it, and the game says it costs HP, but it is max hp. Not sure how much replayability the game has but it was a pretty fun experience.

This game used to be a lot more fun, a long time ago. It was a very fast paced isaac-wannabe where both you and the enemies died nearly instantly. Unfortunately, at some point, one of the devs decided (and I remember it was literally just one dev) the game is too easy for him in particular. So he made everything far tankier and nerfed many of the stronger weapons.
And this ruined the game.
Why did it ruin it? Because the fast pace is all this game had going for it. That's it. It had nothing else.
Its visuals are... well, you can see them. Nothing special, and sometimes not even functional. "Why yes, I do want to get hit by this purple projectile because it splits diagonally despite looking like it splits another way".
Its enemies are either dps checks that rush you instantly, dps checks that flood the screen with projectiles until you kill them or just plainly annoying. Bosses are just giant, often stationary, blobs of hp. Thanks to that one ruining patch, they're no longer fast, exciting fights. They're slogs. You just vaguely move an inch every now and then while holding M1 until they die.
Boss hights include:
The Wallmaster: He sits in one spot and shoots the same two patterns of shots over and over again you just walk above or over until he dies
The labyrinth: Literally doesn't even fight back at all
"But what about the other buttons?"
You have three weapons on your little dude.
M1: Infinite ammo
M2: Ammo per room
Space: Consumes ammo you find on the map
So you do 99% of your damage with M1.
"But surely the exciting, epic items will fix this, or the passives!"
And HERE is the main problem with this game. The main reason I can't recommend it. Here are some passives from this game.
Starting with level upgrades
- 20% chance to get double credits (currency) when killing
Why is this a % chance? This is a level up reward.
- 50% chance for double healing from health pickups
Again... why is it a % chance?
I think only the exp bonus is an actual solid, reliable bonus.
Or stat padding:

50% missile damage
energy + X
Or my favorite absurdly niche 'reward' for leveling:
On SPECIFICALLY KILLING with a missile (which takes finite ammo) specifically at 0 shield (temp hp that regens per room) you have a 5% YES FIVE PERCENT chance YES JUST A CHANCE, NOT EVEN 10% (THIS IS A LEVEL UP REWARD WTF) to restore 1 (one(uno(singular(not plural)))) shield. Yes, just use your consumable resource you use to get more resources from the map to get a FIVE PERCENT chance of gaining a resource you get FOR FREE EVERY SINGLE ROOM

Far as I can tell, you get better options presented at higher levels, but even at the really high levels its still crap like 'get X for getting hit or get Y for getting hit or take the singular upgrade that actually does anything if not being hit'. Its not much of a choice.
Even the good oens always have some crappy caveat. Like 'trap master: Immune to lasers'. Except your shields aren't. The thing you are liable to be using to tank lasers is not immune to them. What the hell is the point.
Stat padding. Nothing more. Boring. Leveling up should feel exciting. And I could forgive this, I guess, if it was reliable, but so many of them are % chance of X. Who the **** sat there making this game, thinking "How do we make this game in the same genre as ****** ISAAC a game famed for its item variety, standout? 20% chance of extra credits, of course!!"
Now actual items.
To begin with, items use slots. Pri (mary), sec (ondary), mis (sile launcher) and 'mod', the misc slot.
The last one is the only one that gives you interesting items. Oh and perks. Perks are like levelup perks, but just on the floor/in shops, and tend to be just raw stat increases, often with a downside, because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ every perk in this game has to kick you in the knee.
You can carry an mod. An. Singular. Just the one. Not more than one, no. That would be fun.
Mod items can be saving you from death, a fire aura that shoots over wall, familars, etc. The only non-stat padding upgrades in the game. The only non-limited ammo customization you have outside of your weapon.
And you can only carry 1.
Seriously.
You can choose to do 1 (one) singular cool thing at any given time. Not 2. Not 3. Not 'all of them I can afford'. So just take the best one. I rec the fire aura. It shoots over walls. Ignore all others, because you're making yourself worse taking them. And its less fun.
Just... why?
Speaking of weapons, there's a good variety. Shotguns, snipers, spread shots, flame thrower. All generally fairly fun to use. This and the map design (which is nothing special, but tends not to be overly annoying) is all the game really has going for it.
Shame you can only carry 1 m1, also. Because **** you. Stop wanting to have fun. Spam your singular M1 while your singular meaningful passive does a thing every X seconds. Fun. Variety. Wow. Amaze.
Maybe take the 'get energy on being hit' upgrade and run into bullets so you can shoot your m2 once more and just explode in excitement on being able to do more than hold M1 and occasionally nudge slightly with WASD
The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CONSUMABLES add more meaningful run variety than your weapons and mod item. Because those give you drones (familiars) and can stack, unlike mod familars. How do you mess up your itemization so much your consumables are better than your expensive upgrades in the long-term. Seriously, how?
On top of all of this the game is just very easy, despite the dev bloating hp to compensate. So many enemies barely move, don't even attempt to aim at you, stand still entirely, etc. Enemies that actively try to harm you that aren't a boss or miniboss are a rarity and bosses who move at all are an exception. Its ridiculous. They just slowly float or sit in one spot and hope you run into their shots.
It's fun. But only for 10 hours

The bullet hell style feels good, more calculated and precise compared to many other bullet hells such as Realm of the Mad God.
The soundtrack is good so far, though it starts to feel a bit repetitive after a while - more tracks please?
It'd also be nice to have some alternate cursor options.

Starward Rogue is a roguelite shoot em up, kinda like The Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon, only more directly inspired by Japanese shoot 'em ups, which is made evident by the colorful bullet patterns and Tohou being directly mentioned in the highest difficulty setting.
In that sense, I'd say it's pretty good. The action is fast paced, there are plenty of interesting upgrades and the presentation is generally good. There's no story or anything like that, but the game comes with 9 different playable mechs for some added replay value.
However, I'd say the game is not good enough to warrant a significant time investment, some key nuances of shoot 'em up design are missing, the most important among them being sufficient sound cues and a way to easily distinguish the player's projectiles from enemy ones. Obviously, the bullet curtains look prettier this way, but they are also much harder to read.
In short, I think Starward Rogue isn't half bad for a few runs. You probably won't get 100 hours out of it, but that's fine, not every game needs to be like a second job.

it's not the best roguelike. it didn't light up my world or make me rethink my life. the gameplay is alright and not fantastic. there isn't really a proper ending since iirc they ran out of money before they could implement some fancy ending cinematics. but you know what? it's still pretty good.

It has lots of difficulty settings and lots of different starting mechs.
This allows you to adjust the game to your liking.
It can be a walk in the park or be an absolute misery, you decide!
There is a mech that makes the enemies and bullets stop while you are not moving or shooting. (Similar to the game "Superhot")
The variety of items, perks, updates and weapons (be it as a drop, or bought in a shop) is more than enough to keep you busy for dozens of hours.
The levels have teleports which help you traverse them faster, so you do not have unnecessary backtracking through empty rooms.
The soundtrack is driving the game forward. Pretty much like in all the other games by this developer.
And it has lots of achievements which encourage you to play the game in different ways.
Although the developer seems to constantly be struggling financially, the game is still being supported and there was even content added recently. (Thanks partly to the help of the active modding/-community)
So if you are looking for a little change from playing "Binding of Issac" or "Hades",
this game is a welcome (and affordable) addition to the genre of the "Isaac-likes"

underappreciated gem, i remember playing this game a bunch previously, and it amazes me that an update for this game came out after such a long time. this game is really fun and has lots of replayability, so i think i'll check it out a bit more. i recommend getting it, even if you aren't going to play it much, especially when its on sale!

Pretty satisfying bullet hell roguelike. I'm amazed that it's still being updated with free expansions YEARS after release-- the new update today came out of left field.
This is a Binding of Isaac style roguelite with less of an emphasis on crazy combinations and more on fast gameplay. That being said, most of my playtime is with the Superhot module where bullets only move when you do-- it's basically what I wanted out of Superhot to begin with.
Bullet Hell classic
I've been playing roguelikes for many years, and Starward Rogue is my introduction to the bullet hell genre. It's a fantastic hybrid of both. I'm extremely pleased with it - hard as hell, but with such high replay value I can bear my many losses.
I've recently started playing on the normal difficulty level, and I can hardly imagine going higher. But we'll see. :)
Starward Rogue is a good game. Unfortunately, it exists in a genre saturated with *excellent* games. That being said, it is enjoyable and deserves more attention than it gets.
Twin-stick shooter with a mecha space theme. Accurate and configurable controls. Interesting gameplay loop. Roguelike mechanic. Lots of weapon systems. Decent presentation and graphics. Good audio.

The game gets stuck on a load screen loop bug on Linux - Ubuntu Mate 20.04 in my case. Other Linux users have reported same. It's a shame because I've heard great things about this game. The problem may be related to full screen mode but online and forum searches have provided no solutions.
Awesome game. It's fun and challenging...and easy to lose track of time, especially when you only plan to play for a few minutes and wind up spending a few hours on it.

What it lacks in polish, Starward Rogue makes up for in sheer gameplay variety and strength. The core gameplay is fast, twitchy, responsive, and *solid*, and the rest of the game is free to explore permutations on its formula. Enemy bullet patterns are creative and engaging, and so are your own weapons and abilities. My favorite mechanic has to be the sacrifice shop, at which you can 'spend' points from your maximum HP pool to purchase upgrades, which injects a perfect, constant risk/reward agency from floor to floor.
Starward Rogue demonstrates the potential of bullet hell roguelikes so well I'm amazed I've never seen another title like it.
Top down mecha action game with a very, VERY large sprinkling of touhou styled bullet hell madness, and a little roguelike floor generation and exploration. It's a little unpolished in places, but I'm having plenty of fun with it and I think it delivers on its promise of a challenging, but fair experience. It's a tad overpriced normally, but I got it on sale, and the DLC, for only 3.31. I can't complain at that price.
Started playing again after 3 years -- game is even more amazing than I remember! There are tons of weapons and stackable upgrades and perks! There are 12 different mechs to choose from (with DLC), each with its own starting loadout and bonuses! Runs start with 5 floors and then increase from 5 to 7 after you win 3 times. I was hoping that the floors per run would keep increasing with wins, and that would have been unique as hell, but unfortunately that is not the case. You can exit a run at ANY time and then continue later right where you left off! The game has no lack of content. I mean, read the description. 350+ items (even more with DLC). Upgrades stack. If that isn't enough to get you to purchase the game, then you're not a true rogue-like fan. It's endlessly replayable! The game's soundtrack is very good as well! If you're a fan of Nuclear Throne, Risk of Rain, Enter the Gungeon, or rogue-likes in general, you will love this game for sure! Pick it up now! It's well worth the asking price! In fact, you might as well buy the Gold Edition for just a couple bucks more. Looking forward to logging a lot more hours into this game. I don't know why I didn't play it more in the past. This game is a perfect example of what a rogue-like should be!

ミサイルは弾消費するが火力があり、通路妨害やHPシャードが出るオブジェクト・隠し部屋壁も破壊できるので節約しましょう。
自機の当たり判定はケイブ社のソレ程度には小さいので、かわしてる俺SUGEEEEE感は得られます。

・敵・アイテムの種類がかなり多くメタゲーになりにくいのでリプレイ性はある
・他所で見たこと無いような動き・撃ち方をしてくる敵が多くてユニーク（Ｂガレッガのイカの動きで追ってくる雑魚には吹いた）
・ボスがちゃんとボスしてる（なかなか硬く、HPの減り具合で攻撃パターンも変えてくる）
× 悪い点
・視覚効果は乏しい（爆発とか地味。ボスも一枚絵が動くだけ。自機ならトリガー引いたときの動作はありますが・・・）
・ＵＩが洗練されていない（全体的に見にくいし、基礎ボーナスの加算値くらいは表示してくれよ・・・）
・カネ（クレジット）上限が少なすぎる（ガキの駄賃やあらへんで）
・対価に見合ってない購入アイテム多し（調整不足が否めない）
・迷路部屋の存在（シューティングゲーム中に一体何をさせてんだコノヤロウ）
はっき言って悪い点の方が多いですが、こういう荒唐無稽なゲームでも楽しめる層は少なからずいるわけで、
ゲームが破綻するような欠点は無いためギリギリお勧めといったところです。
被弾しても0.5秒くらいは無敵時間あるので、弾幕シューティングが得意な方なら最高難易度でも十分太刀打ちは出来るレベルです。
セールならDLC込みで500円ですし、暇つぶしには悪くないかと。

This is a retro pixel 2D top down twin stick bullet hell/shmup game where you control a retro pixel robot thing and blast your way through endless samey procgen levels. There's light RPG elements as you can perform various upgrades on your robot thing.
Better than most retro pixel games, they opted for a kind of later day 16 bit aesthetic, which permits a bit more resolution, so the game runs in 4K. Usually it's just the terrible quality of retro pixel "art" that consigns a game to shovelware bundlemeat hell, but here, the problem is they didn't do any testing on modern PCs, so there's no UI scaling, the text is tiny and unreadable, which makes a lot of the game unplayable. Even without this flaw, you're left with a run of the mill shmup, and the developers either lacked the talent or budget to create compelling level design and story flow, so they tried to use procgen as a substitute for game content. Developers must learn that procgen is not content.
So we have a retro 2D top down shmup with zero content, unreadable text, and low quality graphics. How much would you expect to pay, 50c? $1? Nope, they want $17 for this retro shovelware that they can only sell through bundles. You could buy Frostpunk or Far Cry 5 for less, what are they thinking?
This is a great bullet hell shooter roguelike and I can't believe it's not more popular. Definitely an overlooked gem!
First things first, when you start a run you can pick between 9 different mechas, 12 if you have DLC (which is totally worth buying). Each has different stats and starting loadouts. There are 4 different difficulties and normal difficulty is actually fair and is completely skill reliant unlike with some games in the genre.
When you just start there are only 5 floors to go through, each floor having a boss. Once you beat 5th floor boss three times you unlock 7-floor runs. The boss of each floor is randomly picked from a pool of bosses, except for 5th and 7th floor where bosses always seem to be the same (I did see a gold variant of the 5th floor boss but aside from appereance it felt same and I saw a different fight scenario with the 7th boss on youtube). Each floor feels right in size, they're not too small nor too large in my opinion.
Gameplay is great, this game is a proper bullet hell game, especially when it comes to bosses because most of them will just fill the screen with all sorts of projectiles and you'll have to slowly maneuver around them while attacking the boss at the same time, you won't get any breaks until the boss is dead. Sometimes they'll fire fast projectiles as well so you'll have to speed up with run button. The combination of having to move slow and sometimes fast feels right and makes the game challenging but fun.
Each floor has several teleporters across rooms to speed up backtracking. You can also run like I mentioned before which lets you go through rooms pretty quick.
Much like similar games you can find item rooms, sacrifice rooms (trade HP for items), different kinds of shops and what not. You have primary weapon which has infinite ammo, secondary weapon which uses energy (refills once you change room), missile launcher (high dmg, can destroy enemy bullets, opens secrets but you have to pick up missiles for it), consumable item and special attachment.
Also every time you level up you can pick one out of three different perks the game picks at random to offer. There are all kinds of perks, some will buff various stats, some will give you extra keys, one will let you see entire map and all secrets for the entire run and bunch more.
There are also mech-specific perks for each of the mechs, aside from one which doesn't have its own perks (nor can it get perks from other mechs of course) but requires less experience to level up.
Overall a game I would highly recommend to anyone who's into this kind of games. Way worth the price, both when it comes to the base game and the DLC. While the variety in this game is alright I wish this game sold better so we'd get even more stuff, whether for free or through another paid DLC which I wouldn't even hesitate to buy.

Despite my complaints below, I felt compelled to play until I beat it with a few of the starting Mechs. I still think this is a rotten game in so many ways. There was barely enough good to make me change it to a Thumb's Up. But just BARELY.
If you buy it, be prepared for a game made and designed such that it feels like there wasn't an actual designer behind it, just a lot of programmers who know how to make a functional game engine, and graphics so that are so rotten and amateur that they actually detract from the playability.

Since this is a Thumb's Down review, please know in advance that I'm largely going to talk about the negative aspects of this game, for there are so many. Also note that my playtime is misleading... I had it running overnight by accident which pushed the total playtime about 4 hours higher that it really is.
Good graphics don't made a bad game good ...but... bad graphics can sure make a good game bad! All graphics are a wildly inconsistent mess with inconsistent design elements and colors, or bizarrely-designed tiles and shapes that actively work against the player's eyes. Random inconsistent colors are everywhere blended in with "glass bottom" areas of the ship so you see the gradients of floating planets / animated squigglies behind it while you're trying to run around and fight and dodge.
In tile-based games every "group" of tiles should have a unified theme or attribute so you can quickly distinguish it from the other groups; traps should all roughly look the same and have the same palette; same for coins/health/shards, walls, destructible objects, etc. But in Starward Rogue, there are no consistent style guidelines. XP pickups are like 3 pixels in size and coins are nearly invisible - why not use up most of the available tile space? There's also all kinds of different floor types, none of which stand out from any of the other tiles. Many times you can't visually distinguish between a blocking tile and a floor tile. Or a destructible block from a non-destructible one.
Blend this ersatz visual design with hundreds of bullets from your main drone plus the enemies' bullets, floating side-drones, nova effects, fire/poison, particle effects, explosions, etc and it looks like an animated whirlpool of something a Frat Boy would throw up after 27 beers and a two XL pineapple pizzas. It looks like the graphics/palettes were programmer-designed.
This game also suffers atrocious sound design choices. You're going to hear the main cannon of your ship shoot thousands of times and it's the same ear-piercing squelch heard over and again until you want to stuff cotton balls in your ears. Nothing melodic or harmonic about any of the sounds in this game; much like the graphics there is no consistency in the tonal quality, pitch or mood of any of the sounds, nor are they grouped in any sensible way. I'm not trying to suggest this is the case because I can't be sure... but if I had to guess I'd say many of the sound effects are from shovelware royalty-free catalogues. If I'm wrong on that point, Id say at the very least it SOUNDS that way and gives that impression to the attuned ear.
The maps are far too expansive, the rooms are too large and bland, and this speaks to a lack of refinement in the overall game design. For one example you might have a rectangular room that takes up 3 entire map units, but there are four popcorn enemies, each in one corner - see the problem? Each enemy just stands in his corner out of aggro range and you run around this MASSIVE room to tediously dispatch then. Other times you'll find a 3x3 room but it is just 6 foes, each trapped in a pod behind destructible boxes, so again, you just pick them off one by one because they can't get out until you let them. Every room has some tedium and lack of refinement built into it... and each floor has dozens of rooms. I wish this was tightened up in a MASSIVE way because you can play for like 20 minutes in one run where absolutely FUNK ALL is happening and there's no challenge. What a waste of player time.
There are cool different mechs and some neat powerups. It's fun to stack different ones but there's so much inconsistency when they're presented that you rarely can take advantage of the benefits. Not to dwell on one particular experience, but one example is going into a room with "3 upgrades". One will be 1HP, one will be 4 Missiles, and one will be 2X HP on Health Pickup. Any cretin with the slightest experience in builds knows that all three of those are trash when you know what COULD have spawned is +20% Base DPS. Or you'll find a floor with like 3 "shops" but not ONE SINGLE FUNKING KEYCARD anywhere to unlock the shop doors. ALL THE FUNKING TIME IT DOES THESE THINGS.
Ugh... like... this game could have really been something if a seasoned producer or designer was involved. It is REALLY competently made from a TECHNICAL perspective, but every area of DESIGN is a complete failure.
lovely game really fun and is really addicting
Itsa like a pizza... the main ingredient a Bullethell Shmupp baked into a delicious Roguelite crust sprinkled with some sweet sweet techno, the end result is an addictive mix of genres, so its like a pizza laced with extremely addictive drugs to get you hooked. You've been warned.
PS: grab the DLC you wont regret it!

Fun, different, a bit nerve wracking at times. The story starts off strong and you think 'Cool I am a severed dragon head, this will lead to some great dialogue and choices....'Nope, the story dies right after the tutorial. I wouldn't recommend the game at full price unless you are really really into bullet hell games, if so then this has a lot going for it. If you are just looking for something different and fun this is great to pickup on sale, just don't expect it to keep your attention long. If they made a 2nd one with a real story and maybe some meta gaming that you could improve between runs I would jump on it.
You're fighting your way into a ship stuck in a star, so I guess starward rogue is accurate.

A fun bullet hell rouge-like from the makers of bionic dues, everything handles well and is fun. The attack patterns fired from bosses are cool, just make sure to pay attention to not get hit.

攻撃にも飛距離があるため、弾幕が激しいのにも関わらず、ある程度接近しないとボスにダメージを与えることが出来ない場面も。色んなアクションローグライクをかじって来ましたが、これが恐らく一番難しいかと。ノーマルモードなら凡人でもクリア可能でしょうが、ハード以降の難易度はかなり厳しい。１ステージ目のボスから、弾幕系やらないプレイヤーお断りレベルの難しさになる
Really fun and well-designed game. It plays similarly to titles such as Binding of Isaac, so if you enjoy that you'll really like this.
The game is simple to play, but difficult to master. With a huge variety of mechs, items, upgrades, level perks, etc it's possible to customise builds to your playstyle. Would highly recommend.

Very crazy bullet hell roguelike game with mecha. There's a lot of different relics so it makes each run very different. The DLC introduces a lot more. The game does have a high skill level on harder difficulty only because there's so much projectiles flying everywhere. And some achievements are very hard to obtain because of that.
Think bullet hell Binding of Issac. The game is very fast pace, loads of weapons and relics, monsters can kill you just as easy as bosses do, but eventually it'll be a lot easier to play. I just wish that one day it would have a co-op mode this would be a lot of fun with another friend playing.
I like the variety that this game offers. The controls are good and it's a pleasure to play.
This is a very good bullet hell rogue like. The ships have some differences that even if you pick up the same weapons you do on another run, most runs feel different. All in all a very good and fun game.

It's a nice rogue dungeon crawler, really similar to The Binding of Isaac. My only complaint is that in the statistics the images of the enemies + bosses + challenge rooms/items aren't shown. If you do get this game, I recommend buying the DLC as well, because of the content it provides.

TLDR: Play Enter the Gungeon instead. Sprites used are flat and uninteresting. Movement is floaty and fast. Bullet Hell patterns are slow and easy to dodge. Environments are tiny and disorienting and samey looking.
Easy enough to beat on controller on lower difficulties. Pretty brutal otherwise.

as you feel stronger without the game feeling boring/too easy or without the game giving the enemies unproportional buffs

Very enjoyable roguelike. I wasn't sure if i would like because of the graphics, but gameplay won me over. I bought it on sale, this and the expansion. I only wish it looked better and was longer. Worth a purchase imo.

Very good roguelike, and has 2 final bosses. May be impossible to 100% without DLC, but i loved this game and would pay for the DLC. its a good game, lots of fun, and each hydra you can play as has a lot of variety in each. one may be as thin as piece of paper, but time only moves when you move. if you are looking for a roguelike you can pour a lot of time into, you can. there are achievements for perfecting bosses, beating with probabilities, stuff like having more enemies, less enemies, and whatnot, and beating both bosses with your characters. overall a very good game.
