Great game.
О, Squishy the Suicidal Pig — это когда ты берёшь Angry Birds, но вместо птиц — свинья, которая хочет умереть.
Ты пускаешь её с трамплина, она летит, бьётся об стены, взрывается, а ты такой: "ну ладно, ещё разок".
Графика — как будто художник нарисовал всё в Paint, а потом добавил кровь.
Физика — хаотичная, как моя жизнь после трёх кофе.
Звук? Свинья визжит, как будто её режут, а потом — тишина.
Итог: 5/10. Забавно первые пять минут, потом просто жалко. Но если тебе нравится смотреть, как свиньи страдают — это твой кайф.

Для старых задротов любящих нинтендо и трудные платформеры с пиксельной графикой эта хрень зайдет, но как по мне это уже прошлый век. Если уж и делать трудные игры, то они должны быть с каким-то ебанутым посылом и визуальной индивидуальнлстью, здесь же такого нет.

Incediblely tedious. Nothing clever about the puzzles, just needless slow walking back and forth. Very janky and unsatisfying even when you do complete levels. The boss fights are lazy, "challenge" is more like luck.

Cada nivel te obliga a morir de formas creativas, y la gracia está en descubrir cómo. Entre puzzles retorcidos, trampas absurdas y soluciones que te hacen reír de lo ridículas que son, el juego engancha más de lo que admite su apariencia simple.

Thats it. Is this a fair review? No, but the game isnt either so i call it even.
The concept isnt like, completely garbage, but this game feels like it was programmed by someone who forgot to read the documentation.
A good example of this is the literal, first boos, in this game. When you get to its second phase, its hands begin hammering down on you, so logically we can just assume it becomes a hitbox or smth. But for some reason this activates [i] while you stand inside the hand to get to that phase. [/i] This is completely unfair and will always be unfair, because this game has probably never been patched.
wont give it a score like others do because i am not completeing this game, but i generally wont recommend it to anyone.

a lot of the puzzle and level design in this game is actually pretty good, but significantly weighed down by how unresponsive the input feels, making a lot of the time sensitive elements feel much more frustrating than fun, even when you know exactly what to do.
i think this game is cool but i think it could be much better with a few tweaks e.g.
- audio options in the settings
- more visual options than just fullscreen / tiny window (you can manually resize the window but the aspect ratio breaks and everything stretches)
- fixing input delays
- adding ~.5-1s of extra time on sensitive elements
really tho this is a pretty fun lil platformer and i think it was fun playing, maybe some day i will finish the rest
It would be a lot more enjoyable if the levels were about 80% shorter and cut out all the tedious buildup to the actual killing yourself part. Games like McPixel show how troll games can have levels a few seconds long and still be fun.

Hey, do you enjoy puzzle games or even troll games which aren't even particularly difficult but which just waste your time for no reason? Then this game is for you.
Remember those Karoshi Suicide Salary Man games where you had to figure out how to kill your character? Yeah, this is mostly that, only worse. Most levels are needlessly tedious. Objectively they aren't that long, but they are set up in ways that make failure relatively easy and costly. Your character is slow, moves even slower when pushing around blocks (which you do a lot), there's tons of janky positioning of objects, timed things last either too little or too long, and levels are full of "if you miss this chance, you gotta restart" moments. Occasionally there are levels which play more traditionally and you must survive them, but even these can get needlessly convoluted. Oh, and there's area bosses... which can only be refought by replaying the preceding (extra long) levels.
There's a few lateral thinking puzzles, but most of it is just your average puzzle platforming. The few trollish moments are either stuff you spot very easily (admittedly, you can overlook them when frustrated by other things, which [b]is totally[/b]] on the player) or which come very late so you are forced to replay a whole bunch of the level with close to no challenge but tons of tedium.
A bit different angle for puzzle platformer but unfortunately it is not executed properly. Quite few bugs and a bit too much RNG in some of the bosses. Limited video settings and unpolished levels gives the feeling that game was rushed and released too early.

You can appreciate the cocnept and gameplay but it feels so forced to that era without checkpoints and extreme difficulty, feels like a cheap Super Meat Boy and its quite frustrating. Was in my bucket list but starting to regret this choice
Honestly. This game sucks. I'm sorry to be blunt, but it just reeks too much of that obsession with way-too-hard platformers that you have to play the same level over and over again until you can finally beat it. The problem is that it just isn't a lot of fun at that point. I got stuck on the first key level. Not only is there an extremely difficult fast-moving platform you have to step/jump onto, but you have to do it within a set amount of time. Or so I think because the game just tells you to chase him. By the time I got to the cannon that is required to shoot him, the bird just wasn't there. If there is a time limit give me a timer or something because the goal of the game is to also collect apples, which I'm not sure how you are supposed to do on that level with the time limit. If there isn't supposed to be a time limit then the game is bugged and the bird disappeared. I'm not going to bother continuing. I've played 10 levels and this level is just annoying because I originally bought the game when it was released...
...because the concept of you needing to kill the character instead of keeping them alive was interesting. (I may have also bought it at the time because it was $0.75 on sale or something like that). However, I've hit a point where that is no longer the case, so I'm not going to bother continuing.
I think that the people who made this game should be proud that they made a relatively functional game. Most people cannot do that and that's a pretty cool achievement. The art is all right, not my personal favorite in style, but looks better than a lot of cheap, low-budget games. It serves the purpose. HOWEVER, the foreground and background often become muddled (the grass is the biggest problem, since it is sometimes in both the foreground and background overlaid on top of one another). If this is an intentional attempt to obscure parts of the level to make it more difficult, it does not come off that way, it comes of as feeling unpolished. There is also this obfuscation of the amount of actual game that there is here. Obviously the difficulty is intended to create a lot of replay (many, many games also do this), but also in the overworld of the game. It has one of those Mario-like overworlds where you pick which level you want. However, they place tons of little non-level spaces between levels; far more than necessary. There are also these loops that create bifurcating paths. It would seem like you should be able to go right or left, but no you can only go one direction. You cannot play them out of order like some of the Mario games. It is just a linear progression entirely. It is actually to the point where the overworld is kind of just a waste of time. You may as well just have a list in a UI since you cannot play them out of order and are unlikely to replay levels once you beat them.
So, yes they had to go with a certain subject manner that is handled rather bluntly. I'm not insulted that they chose the subject matter (kind of goes with the concept of an anti-platformer where the character has to die instead of survive the level), more feel some cringe when they handle it so lazily. Although, to be fair I haven't finished the game, so it isn't entirely fair to given a final verdict on that part. But that's just what I've gotten from so far in my gameplay. I think the developers might also feel this way as they removed their Studio Name from the developer part of the game just to distance their other games from this one. I think they might be afraid the game may have been made in poor taste and don't want to offend anyone and make their other game look bad.
Anyway, I don't like to be hurtful but this game really isn't worth playing. I mean unless you happen to be a platformer masochist then for a couple USD, then idk. Why not? But the rest of you. I wouldn't bother.
I hope this review wouldn't discourage the developers from making other games. Just try something new and shake it up. They aren't all always going to work or be a hit, but maybe the next one will. Just pay more attention to the polish of the game. Also, PLEASE TELL ME NEXT TIME THAT DESPITE ENTER WORKING TO SELECT EVERYTHING ELSE I CAN ONLY USE 'Z' TO SELECT A LEVEL. I legitimately thought the game was broke. What is it with game devs and adding more buttons to do separate things than necessary and NOT TELLING YOU.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

It's really tough at times, looks like older versions you could teleport on to deal with the rng parts that are especially frustrating. Great concept and can entertain for a while if you can pick it up on sale.
This game is good but the aim is literally in name, you can collect apples and find a way to die to go to the next level, it is an interesting twist in a game I guess.

ГГ, свинья по совместительству был сильно расстроен, что его родителей забили на бойне, поэтому пошел и удавился. Именно этим он будет заниматься всю игру. В зависимости от фантазии при выборе метода самоубийства, в игре предусмотрена дополнительная концовка. В остальном игра оригинальностью не блещет и заинтересует только любителей платформеров.
I have no idea why I bought this. But I forgot to refund it and now it's forever in my Steam library. Pls don't buy this bugfest. There are so many better games.

Relentlessly tedious.
Despite the game looking simple, the levels are so confusing that I quickly resorted to a walkthrough. You seem to get soft locked a lot of the time. I don't understand why they made the visuals cartoonish, but then made the gameplay so complex. Sometimes the jumps don't work, which leads to you having to restart the entire level. The TNT plungers make no sense - some of them detonate only one box, while others (on the same stage) can reset themselves after each press to blow up a second box. There's platforms you can jump up through, but not descend through. Brown boxes can erode orange boxes. Moving left off the screen on one stage wraps the character back to the right. These facets to the game are supposed to be critical to progress through it, but how is the player supposed to guess this nonsense? There's no sense of flow or intuition at all.
There's no video options menu. The text boxes awkwardly can't be skipped - they just disappear after a set period of time, so you're stuck looking at the short messages, but then miss the long ones because they disappear too quickly before you can finish reading them - leaving you in the dark about the story and hints (not that they explained much anyway). The music is over the top. The game didn't save my progress. The control scheme is for a gamepad regardless of whether you only have a keyboard plugged in. I associate using gamepads with games that have the polish to be licensed for release on a games console, but this game is sourly disappointing. It's not anywhere near worth £4.79. Even if it was free, it wouldn't change the fact that the mechanics make no sense. I can't recommend a game if I didn't enjoy it at all.
Many many bugs and glitches. Levels are not play tested. All of the boss fights are based on pure luck. AI is not balanced it feels like a multiplayer game enemy just shoots multiple projectiles directly at you with full speed so you need a ton of luck. RNG based levels.

The controls were somehow annoying, though. There were countless times I could have sworn the game didn't register jumping correctly, but that may just be me being rubbish at platformers.

Squishy the Suicidal Pig is mostly a puzzle platformer, where the objective is to find a way to die in each level. Sometimes the execution method is obvious and you must figure out the way to get there, sometimes you need to be a little creative. The level design is mixed. Some levels are clever, but some have unintuitive out of the box solutions. They’re usually long and it’s easy to make mistakes, and without a redo option of any kind, you have to restart levels a lot.
These levels are the majority of the game, however there are also some more traditional levels where the objective is to reach a key without dying. Here is where the game’s problems become more apparent. Lots of times I fell when I thought I was still in a platform. That is either the lack of a grace period that most platformers have, allowing easier jumps at the edges, input lag or a combination of both. Also, some collision detections are bigger than the visible sprites, because I also died a lot when I thought I didn’t touch the hazard. Some platformers actually have slightly smaller hitboxes. But once again, it can also be input lag. Some of these levels feature a checkpoint, but you can only use them once before having to restart from the beginning.
The game also has 4 bosses, and they’re mostly annoying. You only have 1 hit point, so there’s no room for mistakes. However, some have random attack patterns that make it hard to find a solid strategy. That’s especially true for the 2nd boss, which I thought was the worst one. And the other issues are also present here, although to a lesser degree. Good platformers make you feel it’s your fault when you die. But here, lots of times I thought it wasn’t. The puzzle levels aren’t so bad, but even if they make up most of the game, I spent a lot of time frustrated on the traditional levels and bosses.
The game also has bugs and a general lack of polish. It has some achievements, including beating all bosses on insane (♥♥♥♥ that 2nd boss in particular) and doing a speedrun in less than one hour, which has a decent error margin, but it’s still masochism. It had a leaderboard, but I think it’s disabled now. The art and music are decent enough, although the game lacks options.
This is one of those games I would give a neutral score if it was possible. Usually, I end up recommending those games, but in this case I can’t, because it doesn’t properly implement some basics of the genre. Those design choices are usually there to provide a better experience, and you can still have a hard game with those in place. Otherwise, you get the bad kind of difficulty, and its frustrating because you feel your fails were mostly outside your control. That is what I felt here, and why I won’t give a recommendation, even if the game isn’t terrible. It’s just slightly below average for me, and there are a lot of better options out there.

О хороших играх далеко не всегда получается писать подробно и это один из подобных примеров. Поэтому я уложу описание в одно предложение - это оригинальный платформер-головоломка с целью в конце уровня грохнуть своего персонажа.
Делали его разработчики Hero Siege, поэтому лёгкого прохождения не ждите. Хоть герой и помирает в конце каждого уровня это не меняет того, что нужно просто добраться до финиша.
I like the part where you click on the 2nd boss while they're talking and the game crashes.
The game likes to pull the rug underneath you frequently at your expense and sometimes breaks its own rules to mess with you. Wouldn't recommend it unless you are VERY patient... you get what you paid for.

And I bet you can't sell this load of trite to people unless it's on sale for 50 cents. Suicide is too good for this swine. I want him and the devs of this egregiously poorly-designed rubbish to suffer for all eternity.

The worst part is the fact that jumping doesn't remember momentum... meaning if you want to long jump between the disappearing blocks on 1-4 for example: you can't just hold right and tap up like a normal side-scrolling platformer, no.... don't be silly.... the jumping is so inconsistent you have to stop, tap right and up while remembering to hold right and up for differing amounts of time, and remember to let go of both buttons to stop perfectly and pray to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that made this game engine that the game realizes you let go of the buttons and you want to stop moving..... 90% of the time you end up sliding off because of the controls being unresponsive when you're trying to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stop.
Game is stuck between being a platformer and being a puzzle game and it does not combine those aspects well. You often get stuck having used a piece that you needed incorrectly, essentially softlocking yourself, and when you do so, you need to restart the entire level. There are also no movement options, so getting back to the same point often takes a while and is not very engaging. Also, there is no camera control, so you can't look ahead to figure out what you need before progressing to a new area, meaning you will often get stuck and have to restart the whole level. Often felt more tedious than anything else.

Controles bem bugados. Você dá um toque no direcional, ele aciona umas 2, 3, talvez 4 vezes, e você não consegue deixar o cursor na opção desejada (com o analógico funciona melhor, mesmo assim isso não deveria acontecer). Quando aperta A para retornar uma tela no menu, ele aciona duas vezes o botão e já inicia o jogo no modo história como se você tivesse selecionado essa opção. O jogo tem potencial, mas todo bugado assim não dá vontade de ter não.

I may as well admit I'm a milquetoast; the main turnaway for me from this game is how depressing, grotesque, and devaluing it is - and that the story and setting make almost no sense whatsoever.
Aside from that, Squishy the Suicidal Pig is not particularly interesting to play. A jump is just a jump, there's no particular extra ability to make things more interesting, and the admittedly impressively vast levels seem to drag a bit with the pig's unrewardingly low speed. For how far I got, there seems to only be one or two ways you're able to clear the levels; not much room for toying with physics or trying new tricks or alternate routes.
Maybe I'm just spoiled on my first platformers having been Disney's "Hercules" and the Sonic & Knuckles collection for the PC. For someone who was raised on Mario this might be a great piece. However, for anyone like me who likes gameplay to be varied and interesting, and/or who has had enough of the dismissive and devaluing side of today's dark humor, I recommend giving this one a pass.

Full disclosure, this game was on sale for something like 10 or 20 cents when I got it. Would I pay a few bucks for it? Sure. It's fun and humorous in a slightly dark way as the title and synopsis makes obvious. It's a platformer-puzzle game where instead of trying to not die while passing levels you are generally tried TO die to pass levels. It's a nice twist on the usual format. It's not overly long but it'll most likely take you several hours to get through the first time through and be worth replaying a few times. For a few dollars (or cents in my case) it's a good little game.
