A great MMO for friends looking to play something together. I've had a fun time playing this game with my brother and I runs really well on just about any system you can find, including my crappy laptop. The characters are cute and allow a lot of customization.
Generally abandoned with No content updates happening in the last ~7 years if I'm remembering correctly. Even simple free wins like weapon nerfs or buffs or adding damage type restats of pre-existing weapons don't happen. Even if we ignore all of this, the grind for stuff like orbs becomes abysmal, and should be boosted by like 3x. I really only play this game because my friend played it a long time ago and we hop on occasionally for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles. Earlygame originally caught my attention because the orb problem didn't exist. Overall this game has good potential but just falls flat.

Phenomenal experience. A few minor stutters here and there but the game runs really well. Framerate does tend to chug a little bit when there's lots of particle effects on screen, like the fire and later rain in one of the very early missions, but it remains to be incredibly playable.
If you're on a low-spec PC, you should have a great experience on this. Highly recommended.

Good game, cool weapon design. The lore is endearing, love it. One wish I had was for the game to add more balancing so that we don't end up with one or two armor sets, one weapon, and gun to be the meta. Please whoever is reading this, it would be so cool to explore that moon up in the sky of Cradle!
SK is something for lack of a better term, and I wish there was an option to vote between recommended and not recommended. It's pretty cool at its core - shining artstyle, nice music, interesting world, pretty fun gameplay loop. It's worth giving it a spin just to see the passion that went into the original vision.
At the same time though, I can't in good faith recommend long-term gameplay. The game is held together by cheap tape, old chewing gum and the stacks of dollar bills that people have been throwing at Grey Havens the past decade or so. Surprisingly it actually started receiving updates again in recent times with some of them fixing part of the technical issues, but not without introducing replacement issues - last year's update making part of the playerbase completely unable to log on comes to mind, which only took like 10 months to fix when SK was finally updated to 64-bit Java recently. It also remains to be seen whether this sudden streak of activity will continue or die off again, or whether future updates will be at all decent or just blow up the game further. Forum posts that hint at ideas for nerfs to existing gear don't fill me with good hope - yes, the meta is very narrow and set in stone, but considering how atrocious a lot of the non-meta gear (primarily non-meta armour) feels to use, I don't think nerfing the few sets that make the gameplay feel smoother would be a fantastic idea. Add to that some *interesting* moderation decisions over the years, and there's decent reason to be wary of the course the game will be taking.
Lastly for the community, overall it's about what you'd expect from a f2p multiplayer game. Some players are cool, some aren't, some are in the middle. I have to say that SK has a relatively large population of *absolute characters* and more drama than I've seen in any other multiplayer game I've touched over the years. It wouldn't be too noteworthy if it wasn't that SK has anywhere between 50-300 players online at any given time, so make of that what you will. Also a surprisingly high population of ripoff merchants, so if you decide to give SK a try, be wary and make sure to research market prices before trading with someone.

I tried this very recently again to stroll down memory lane. It's probably my bad internet, or maybe it's their servers, but playing solo and teleporting into obstacles/attacks wasn't fun. Way worse than I remember.
I played a while back when this game had daily energy if you are wondering why I have my hours.
If you have better luck than I did, maybe you'll get more enjoyment out of it. I remember getting so many hours in just because of how simple and fun the game was, and still kind of is.
I would not blame you if you quit because of the heat crystal/alchemy orb grind. It's not the worst grind but it does put a damper on an otherwise simple and fun game.

It hurts. The nostalgia is insane when I'm listening to the title screen music. My first MMO and first major addiction to an online game that wasn't TF2. Can remember the times I spent on this game very clearly and those times when I was younger playing this game in its prime.
Came for the TF2 Spirals Sallet Hat and it was worth it and also loved the game's Music, it makes me feel very chill and comfy. :]

Не запускается без костылей, но это довольно просто починить. Гораздо хуже очень унылый геймплей, который сводится к простому закликиванию противников, потому что блок реализован с огромной задержкой и его активное использование растягивает бои в два раза (при этом они становятся ещё более унылыми).
Возможно есть какие-то хитрые техники, которые делают сражения хотя бы немного интересными, но я не знаю кем нужно быть чтобы изучать и тренировать боевку в подобных играх. Впрочем если вам такое нравится, почему бы и нет - игра всё равно бесплатная.
Ещё как плюс можно выделить приятный визуал (ну и шапка в ТФ2 красивая была пока он не умер)

I have spent countless of hours in this MMO game. As it is in it's current state on the servers you might expect a lag when playing alone or with party.
You can play along with the others and do the events, craft your own gear and give it unique variants. You have to grind this game for gear items, you have to pay for some appearance items and to get some gear which are exclusive to the limited edition boxes. To play the shadow bosses you need definitely a party of players unless you are pro you can do this on your own same goes for Operation Crimson Hammer. You can chill on the Haven, trade items and even play Lockdown and Blast Network (Bomberman clone) versus other players.
This game is AMAZING.
I really wish there were more updates :< I miss playing this.

Не буду кривить душой, игра скачивалась кто-бы мог подумать: ради "халявной" шапки в Team Fortress 2. Но даже отними это, разработчики выстрелили себе в ноги отрезав приток потенциально новых игроков в свой проект из России [spoiler] обходной ПНВ метод не беру в расчёт [/spoiler]. А потому оценить положительно могу разве что фоновую музыку играющей во время соединения с игровым сервером. Больше плюсов я не обнаружил.

Man, this MMO is really something, It's somehow still not totally dead, and not only that, it gets updates despite being first realised in 2011. I can't comment on quality because I'm blinded by nostalgia but I can attest the small community there is pretty solid, lots of good people :)

A game I remember loving as a child back when it was playable on browser via Kongregate. I revisit this game from time to time when I am extremely bored and craving nostalgia. Nothing much has particularly changed about the game despite all the years and quite frankly it has gotten more unstable as time has passed. I would still however recommend this as this is a solid game in my eyes still, especially when played with other people.
The aesthetics of this game are amazing and I have not seen anything like it despite all of the time that has passed since I first played it as a kid on Kongregate. The designs in this game for the knights (the things you play as) are nice along with all of the customization you can do for them potentially.
Gameplay wise it's very simple yet you have slight build variety with all of the swords, guns, and bombs you can use with each of them having different varients with different playstyles to them. It's a game clearly meant for co-op which becomes made apparent as you play yet you can still play it solo with no real issues aside from potential tedium from having to clear out everything by yourself slowly yet surely and difficulty (yet I would not call this a difficult game) which because of this I would say the experience co-op is superior.
The game doesn't particularly seem to gain much new blood these days which is a shame although understandable due to how unstable the game has became as time has went on. If it interests you I'd recommend giving it a shot considering it's free, especially if you can rope some friends into it so you can have the co-op experience. It's unfortunately an unstable game but it's interesting enough for me to say it's worth a shot if you can make it past the instabilities of the game.
It's a lot of fun, but it's crashing a lot now. it's old and you might have to troubleshoot to get it to work consistently.

It has the components to be a decent game. The artstyle is solid, the soundtrack works, and the gameplay is satisfying. But none of that really matters when the game runs with Java, and all the jank that implies. It is constantly crashing and freezing, to a point where it's completely unplayable without increasing the RAM size like you do with Minecraft. The aliasing is also pretty rough, and the sound channels are constantly overloaded causing sounds to constantly cut out or simply not play, which makes your character and the enemies feel very disconnected and "artificial".
I would sum it up as a game with decent potential that unfortunately falls flat because of the game engine and Java.
