The most entertaining thing about this game are the Oscar Wilde quotes.
- The story is decent, but it drags.
- The gimmick of switching between 3 characters becomes tiresome quickly.
- The UI is aggravating. You have no control over the camera, and spend the entire game focused on the top of your characters head.
- I could go on, but this game took enough of my time already.

I recommend you play "The Necromancer's Tale" instead if you like this genre. It is much better implemented and the developer is actively supporting it.

玩起来很像极乐迪斯科，有各种性格的内心独白，不同角色转换视角跟相同的场景与NPC互动产生的变化也很有意思，最后三条主线汇聚到一起将线索串联起来一起破案的感觉很棒。但是文本和剧情还是不如极乐迪斯科那样有深度，美术风格也不够有特色。架空的蒸汽朋克虽然初玩比较有意思，但是世界观建构的不够完整导致缺乏代入感。虽然背景舞台设定在大都市伦敦，但主角几人的活动范围却只局限在几个五分钟就可以逛完的小地图内，实在让人玩的有些厌倦。一些高难度的塔罗牌判定前面连着一长串文本导致SL不是很方便，支线任务完成之后只是给个成就或者结局的时候提一嘴也让人没有什么完成的动力。另外结局也有些仓促，突然就结案邀请三个主角加入特工组织了，给人的感觉就是玩了个序章，甚至连各个角色的日后谈都没有。不过大体来讲，三十块买个十几个小时流程的CRPG还是不亏的。

My God, does this story go anywhere? Ever?

Sovereign Syndicate (SS) is a visual novel more than a game. I can't call it a RPG because I don't feel I have a lot of player agency and the choices made don't seem to have any impact on the story. It's taken a page out of the Disco Elysium book but doesn't have nearly the same writing, choice /consequence, mechanics, voice acting, player agency and or story that Disco Elysium has. This is a game that just treads water for hours at a time but can't swim.

SS is a story told through the eyes of 3 protagonists across multiple chapters (18 of them). The 3 protagonists - Atticus Daley (a minotaur magician), Clara Reed (human prostitute), and Teddy Redgrave (dwarf inventor/bounty hunter) - are located in a Victorian Steampunk London and there's a bit of a murder mystery. It's an interesting setting and the graphics are suitable but dated, on par with visuals from about 10-15 years ago. They're washed-out, a bit fuzzy around the edges and without much finer detail that would help build this world. A game like Eriksholm, which shares a similar camera perspective, has far crisper graphics and far more detail. The graphics here don't really cut it for a game made in 2024. It doesn't help that the maps are quite small and so exploration is limited. The awful camera doesn't do the game any favors either, with some locations a virtual top-down view of this world that can't be edited. This game would have been far better at choosing just one camera angle and building around that versus the camera angle shifting slighting in different locations to the detriment of the game and the player.

Each of our 3 heroes has their own personal stories that should ultimately combine across one larger mystery. Each chapters switches the protagonist as they trapse back and forth across the same handful of small maps to further their own personal tale. This doesn't work nearly as well as it sounds. Each Chapter is perhaps 30 minutes long and the constant switching means it's more difficult to follow the thread of any one protagonist. By the time you get back to their story an hour later, it's more difficult to remember exactly what they're doing or the nuances of their personality. It feels disjointed and awkward. The writing is decent enough and authentic to the game but it's nothing amazing. Unfortunately, there's no voice acting and the music is repetitive and dull.

The real issue so far is that the story doesn't go anywhere. 50% of owners have completed Chapter 1. Barely half of those made it through Chapter 2. A paltry 15% have made it to Chapter 5. So fewer than 1/3rd of the players who played the game enough to get through Chapter 1 stuck with it for very long. It's because the story isn't engaging. It just doesn't move fast enough or draw the player in. The game takes so long to set up the 3 protagonists and their little situations that by the time the game gets moving in Chapter 7 only about 25% of those players who made it through Chapter 1 have stuck with it. That's an awful retention rate.

Ultimately the big plot device is a murder mystery but players have little agency on how this plays out. There's a lot of talking while 3 different characters are trying to unravel the same mystery. To try to create some distinction between the 3, there are a number of pad quests but they're entirely unimportant.

The Disco Elysium portion of the game is their internal dialog using traits. But these feel like they have almost no real impact. I've played out dialogs using one trait over another and there really isn't any difference. Furthermore, the traits level if you're successful using them. That sounds great but with one character (the dwarf) I had a massive run of failures to start - just bad dice rolls. But now the traits are under-leveled and therefore virtually every single roll is a failure for that character. But fundamentally that doesn't even feel like it matters. I can't stress this enough - this game feels like there's really no choice or consequence. If you don't own it and want to experience the story, I don't see why you couldn't just watch this on YouTube and get the same exact experience that I'm getting. Nothing I do seems to really matter and if there's no player agency then what's this game trying to be?

I will probably continue playing out the story because I'm halfway through already. But I can't recommend the game. The characters aren't that compelling. The story isn't that compelling. This would have been a far better story if it had been told via just one of those 3 characters in the same universe. If you want an experience where multiple viewpoints come together as a cohesive whole, then go play Detroit Become Human. That's a masterclass on how to do it. This version doesn't go anywhere for half the game and then rushes towards an incomplete and unsatisfying conclusion.

Sovereign Syndicate isn't a bad game, just a fairly dull and ham-handed effort. There's nothing really wrong with it but there's nothing really compelling either. If Steam gave me a neutral option, I'd pick it. But the ultimate question is whether or not to recommend a product and with so many good story-rich games out there, I just can't recommend this one as being worth your time or money.

No doubt the game is flavorful - the steampunk aesthetic and feel hits the nail. But I expected so much more from this game. In the end, it feels like a boring linear, read & click, fetch quest game that has no stakes. I genuinely got bored by the 4 hour mark and could not care to continue.

I really didn't know what to expect when I started playing this game but I am really glad that I bought it and played it to completion. Sovereign Syndicate offers a rich detailed set of mysteries that interweave between the povs of a handful of characters. The options on responses and system that helps enrich it are great assets to the immersion. While the walking and backtracking (for people like me who want to see all the options) do tend to make progress a slog at times - you will find your happy medium in time. If you like click spam action - definitely not your thing. If you like Arcanum like settings and Victorian style murder mystery visual novels, you might find that this is your cup of tea.

Игру оцениваю нейтрально. Почти все механики игры тонут в куче текста и не особо работают. Но если играть в это как в простой квест с историей - вполне сойдёт.
Читать столько текста смысла часто нет, так же в этом отчасти виновата идея разделения истории между гг, каждый из которых вновь проходит одни и и те же локации. Из-за этого легко упустить реальные точки интереса и квестстартеры

Конечно, до Disco Elysium, которой наверняка вдохновлялись разработчики, этой игре далековато, но, тем не менее, вполне нормально. Интересно было изучать мир, знакомиться с персонажами, как с главными героями (которых здесь аж трое), так и с NPC, искать и выполнять сайд-квесты. Из минусов - опять же, по сравнению с упомянутой Disco Elysium, у вас почти нет свободы. В каждой главе у вас есть вполне определенный мейн-квест, который, так или иначе, необходимо выполнить, иначе игра просто не продолжиться. Да, и по ощущениям, вы плюс-минус придёте к одному результату в конце игры и выбор ваших действий не слишком сильно влияет. Несколько раз пробовал выбирать разные варианты, но герои всё равно оказывались там где должны были быть. Думаю, максимум на что можно рассчитывать - это вариации концовки. Ну, пусть и линейно, но историю вам расскажут, да и игр в этом жанре не так уж и много, так что нормально. Я бы посоветовал брать по скидке, на фул прайс игра, по моему мнению, не тянет

Kein klassisches RPG, so wie ich eigentlich erwartet hatte, eher ein Point&Click Abenteuer mit Rollenspielelementen.

Jedenfalls hat es mich von Anfang an in seinen Bann gezogen und bis zum Ende nach ca 30h nicht mehr losgelassen. Tolles Setting, interessante Story und eingängige Charaktere.

Sovereign Syndicate приковала к себе взгляд с первой секунды анонса. Игру отличал уникальный сеттинг - Викторианская Англия, стимпанк мир, в котором технология встречается с оккультизмом, и где рядом живут люди, гномы, кентавра, минотавры и циклопы. Всё это сразу же всколыхнуло нежные ностальгические чувства по Arcanum. Даром, что путь одного из героев игры начинается на дирижабле.

К сожалению, сеттинг раскрыт минимально. Разнообразие рас можно смело удалить из игры. Несколько филлерных опций в диалогах и общая ненависть к оборотням. Вот и всё взаимодействие между столь разными созданиями.
Разработчики создали мир, который хочется исследовать, но в котором негде это делать.

Геймплейно это визуальная новелла, как и Disco Elysium. Важными отличительными особенностями являются игра параллельно за трех (на самом деле, четырех) героев и разбиение повествования на главы.
Временная линия у героев единая и все события происходят последовательно. В каждой главе активным является только один герой.
У каждого героя собственные мотивы и свой личный набор квестов. Всё, что сделает активный герой повлияет на дальнейший сюжет и остальных героев - важные NPC могут уйти или погибнуть. Кроме того, можно случайно подобрать предмет, который окажется нужен другому герою. Всё это приведет к провалу квестов.
Однако, как и в Disco Elysium провалы проверок в диалогах и проваленные квесты не ведут к поражению. Герои так или иначе продвигаются по сюжету, просто меняется ход событий.

Это очень камерная история. Заявлено 20 уникальных локаций, но большинство из них - это небольшие помещения складов и магазинов размером с экран. Героям предстоит посетить (и пропылесосить) каждую из них неоднократно. И это не идет игре на пользу. Часть глав ощущаются затянутыми. Диалоги со многими персонажами и осмотр большинства предметов не двигают сюжет.
Любопытно, что игра разительно меняется ближе к концовке. Главы становятся короче. Герои чаще сменяют друг друга, еще и иногда встречаясь друг с другом. А все действия явным образом влияют на происходящие события.

В остальное время игроку предстоит читать тонны претенциозной графомании. Складывается ощущение, что разработчики очень хотели сделать свой собственный Disco Elysium, но не совсем разобрались из чего состоит его успех. Диалоги с самим собой были важной частью нарратива DE, где варианты в разговоре могли срабатывать автоматически, если какая-то направленность преобладала.
В Sovereign Syndicate внутренние диалоги... Просто существуют. Заблокированные пункты диалога это большая редкость, в большинстве случаев связанная с глобальным настроением героя.
Собственно, что это такое - у каждого героя есть шкала надежды, которая крайне легко абьюзится. Если в Disco Elysium действия приводили к непредсказуемому результату, то здесь при осмотре предметов всегда есть 2 очевидных варианта, один из которых повышает надежду, а второй вычитает.

Казалось бы на диалоге должна влиять система карт Таро, но она опять же - просто существует. Их нельзя где-то получить отдельно, они анлокаются при выборе определенных пунктов в диалогах. По факту это просто те же самые кубики.

В игре присутствует инвентарь, где находятся все предметы, которые подобрал персонаж. Проблема в том, что, во-первых, использовать из этого окна можно считанные единицы из десятков предметов. А, во-вторых, их использование практически ничего не дает, в основном просто повышая надежду. Я не пользовался этим ни разу за всю игру. Да и на развитие событий их использование никак не влияет.

В сюжете в принципе не существует никаких блокеров, чтобы нужно было сначала где-то прокачать какую-то характеристику. Любые ответы в диалогах ведут к успешному завершению сюжета.

В общем, это очередной случай, когда правильной была бы нейтральная оценка. Я прошел игру полностью и своё удовольствие от процесса получил. Но Sovereign Syndicate кажется недоделанным, словно пробой пера перед тем как сделать полноценную игру.

Schon allein dafür, dass die Entwickler Wort gehalten und das Spiel komplett eingedeutscht (ohne Fehler) haben, gebührt der Daumen nach oben.

Steampunk-Setting im viktorianischen London. Schön gerenderte Orte. Ein sehr textlastiges narratives Abenteuer mit kleinen RGP Elementen. Man spiel unterschiedliche Charaktere und lernt diese besser kennen.

Für Leute ohne Geduld und Leseresistenz nicht empfhohlen, alle anderen sollten gerne in die Welt von Sovereign Syndicate eintauchen. PS: Der Cardbattler im gleichen Universum ist schon rau. Bin gespannt ob und was da noch alles kommt.

There is no denying that the devs were inspired by "Disco Elysium".
Though "Sovereign Syndicate" of course does not reach the brilliance of "Disco Elysium", the devs of "Sovereign Syndicate" show that they are capable of doing a good RPG.

If you like an interesting story, sympathetic characters, and an intriguing atmosphere then "Sovereign Syndicate" is the right choice. I finished it in 13h.

I am looking forward to the next game that the devs are going to do that builds upon this game and improves some aspects, e.g. difficulty (in "Disco Elysium" you can die more easily), more choices and outcomes.

This would maybe deserve a neutral thumb, but ultimately, game just fails to deliver on its promise of a cool, mysterious RPG-like TTRPG/visual novel experience.

POSITIVES:
- Nice art overall
- Cool world & ambience
- Dialogue, while not always great, feels authentic to the world and was mostly quick and to the point (instead of becoming word diarrhea like some other games in this genre)
- The hope meter, while not significant as a mechanic, was actually memorable even still. I kept track of it and played my characters along it (to even my own surprise).

ISSUES I STARTED HAVING WITH THE GAME:
- Padded story divided between 3 characters for no real reason, making the story so much longer (I'm not even exactly sure what's the point of the dwarf character as a playable character here)
- Little progress on the murder mystery, which you rinse and repeat 3 times because, remember, 3 different characters are pushing the SAME plot forward. If the mystery was actually deep, this could have been really nice.
- The villain situation is... not great. The mystery both feels too slow and rushed when it unravels and the villain is the one getting the brunt of it.
- A lot of padding in most everything (walking simulator for no apparent reason, bad movement controls, a lot of talking around for mostly minor, only superficially interesting sidequests)
- Muder mystery where we, as the player, have no agency (not even one bit)
- Fake options on most RP options and basically no real immersive options to deal with a situation differently
- Similarly, trait options were a lot less impactful and different than I wish they would have been (aka, using Animal Instinct over Self-Discipline hardly mattered in how characters responded to me)
- Some key character moments are in-built in the story and yet, 2 or 3 times, I could not believe my character was going to do this story beat. If we had options on those story beats, it would have been SO MUCH BETTER.
- Feels like game ends with too much loose ends and IS kinda sequel baiting
- The game ended JUST when the game looked like it might actually go somewhere and be fun

Ultimately, this game failed, for me, both as a proper RPG (with no combat) and at telling a compelling story.

After playing DE some years ago, I finally gave this a try. I think this game was a bit too inspired by DE, but without the depth that would require.

The internal monologue is there, but offers no real choice or insight and lacks detail. The quotes and some of the writing feels a bit pretentious to me. This one isn't for me, but very well might be for others. I'd give it a neutral rating if I could.

Pretty fun and chill game. I can't say it's better than Disco Elysium,but it has it's own charm.
I really enjoyed the background music,each very distinctive to the area or character. I wish it had a little bit more choice or locations,but overall a nice game.

Давно смотрел на игру, уж очень в меня попадает стилистика - мне нравится и сеттинг Викторианской Англии, и стимпанк, и смесь технологий и мистики, но как-то жаба душила, пока наконец не взял ее на распродаже.

Впечатления неоднозначные. Ближайшее сравнение, конечно, это Disco Elysium, РПГ с ролевой системой, но без сражений - все характеристики персонажей влияют только на проверки в диалогах, от которых зависит как игрок будет решать поставленную задачу. Однако, все сравнения с ДЭ будут выходить явно не в пользу Синдиката. Диалоги далеко не так изобретательно и увлекательно написаны, сноски с пояснениями вообще бесполезны (хотя возможно это вина локализации и в оригинале действительно используются какие-то малоизвестные британские словечки, в переводе кажется странным, когда игра решает пояснить мне, что "нализаться" это значит "напиться" или вроде того). То, за что многие хвалили ДЭ, когда результат провала проверки зачастую интереснее, чем результат прохождения, тоже практически отсутствует. Большинство проверок работает по схеме: прошел - получил информацию, провалил - не получил.

Куда больше мне кажется уместным сравнение с Shadowrun Returns. Вместо киберпанка из ШРР здесь стимпанк в Викторианском Лондоне, где существует магия, а люди вынуждены сосуществовать с мифическими существами - минотаврами, кентаврами, гномами, оборотнями и проч. Под конец прохождения я подумал, что игра основана на чем-то вроде комикса или настолки, однако гугл ничего подобного не выдал, и похоже, что сеттинг здесь оригинальный. И тут вылезает еще одна причина, по которой я вспомнил ШРР. Returns была задумана не столько как игра, сколько как база для игровых модулей, а тот сюжет, что в ней присутствует являлся лишь затравочкой и демонстрацией. Вот местный сюжет тоже ощущается как очень долгое вступление к чему-то, чего нет.

Игра разделена на 18 глав, каждая из которых играется за одного из трех персонажей (на самом деле четырех, но двое из них делят одну ветку). Все трое (четверо) бегают по одним и тем же локациям и общаются с одними и теми же нпц, но к каждому из них относятся по-разному, что прикольно. Однако, это вынуждает каждую главу устраивать пробежку по знакомым местам, чтобы проверить не изменилось ли чего. Загрузка в игре быстрая, но каждый раз нужно прожимать кнопку Продолжить, так как каждый экран сопровождается кучей текста. Этот текст читается только при первом заходе на локацию, а все последующие разы скипается, так что можно было и выводить его только один раз, но это мелочи. За детективным сюжетом интересно следить, учитывая, что для игрока общая картина постепенно складывается из разных аспектов, которые узнают разные персонажи. Также в игре имеется шкала психологического состояния и в зависимости от действий можно влиять на то, будут ли персонаж настроены позитивно и надеяться на лучшее будущее или же мрачными и депрессивными. Это дает игре некоторую реиграбельность, однако, подозреваю, что сам сюжет в любом случае приведет к одной развязке с намеком на другую, более интересную игру, которой не существует.

По итогу, я провел в Soverign Syndicate два длинных зимних вечера. Возможно когда-нибудь пройду еще раз ради ачивок и в целом не против увидеть сиквел. В целом неплохо для любителей читать ВНки или огромные порции текста в РПГ вроде Dysco Elysium, Rogue Trader или Shadowrun. Не шедевр, но и не плохая игра на пару-тройку вечеров.

不错的游戏，三个主角的经历组成了完整的主线故事，并且在互动上能相互影响。每一次判定前有自动存档，好评。剧情上的小反转不算牵强，可以带来小小惊讶，但并不让人印象深刻。
任务方面，首先，部分任务的引导不是很明显，而且支线的成就感略低，玩到后面都觉得支线做不做都无所谓了。其次，任务有时限，但是没有时限提示，有时候我把所有场景都转了一圈才能确定在这一章无法继续推进任务。这一点让我觉得有些郁闷。最后，收集任务的部分道具不是直接出现在地图上的，需要完成任务才能获得，但是要做哪些任务才能获得道具完全没有提示，加上前文所述的支线的成就感低，让我实在不想每一章都一个个将互动点过一遍。
整体上讲，这个游戏还是挺好玩的，通过对话可以获得很多有用信息来推进任务，就是角色走路太慢了，跑步速度感觉才是走路的速度。

Игра, чем-то очень сильно похожая на Диско Элизиум. Только в совершенно другой вселенной. Начало очень затягивает и от этого ты постоянно отталкиваешься, чтобы идти дальше. Много загадок, ответ на которые ты получишь в самом конце, либо не получишь во все. Не знаю чем конкретно меня затянуло, что я прошёл всё за сутки, но после прохождения остаёшься недоволен, а вот чем сказать сложно. Вспоминаешь что пол игры ты просто пробегал по городу, ничего нового не узнав, а потом бац и конец. Пройти разок игру можно, но это практически ничего не даст. Когда я прошёл Диско Элизиум, я был в каком-то шоке пару дней, из-за чего потом я стал считать её одной из своих самых любимых игр, а пройдя эту игрушку, считать я так не буду, потому что концовка, объективно слабенькая в плане сюжета. Но игра точно стоит прохождения.

Storybook game with point&click gameplay. But what put me off during the 2 hour trial period was the backtracking already becoming bothersome. I really like the first 1-2 hours of this game, but once in act 3-4 the pacing became truly awful and i just put it down.

The game is bit of the same style as disco elysium, and i really enjoyed both the mechanics and the settings. I think part of the problem is that you jump around different characters, in what is a game that encourages you to explore and interact with everything. Except by the time you play the third character you have already seen all the shops, clicked all the interactive spots, talked to all the characters. No once but twice. And then the game asks you to do the same thing a third time. Its just a slog at that point.

I tried pushing through act 3 and 4 but i see no improvement so I'm just going to consider this a promising but ultimately flawed game.

每次開遊戲都很想棄遊，看到成就總共十八章實在有點崩潰，我原本還抱持期待，也就九章就能把它結束掉。我不知道自己最後會不會玩完，但我知道一旦卸載我絕對不會再載回來。儘管一直提醒自己不要把它跟極樂迪斯科做比較，但諸多心理建設還是敵不過實際體驗。
首先是文字風格，繁中就是簡中轉繁體。不知原文是中文還是英文，但遊戲到第四章要麼是油嘴滑舌要麼是翻譯腔嚴重，並且對著角色直呼其「流鶯」，我不太相信上流社會會這樣直白粗魯。而劇情內容無聊的程度使我完全無意願比較英文文本是否有比較好。
其次是遊玩方式，到我玩的第四章為止一章玩一個角色，三章後回到第一個角色。這樣的問題是流暢度非常糟糕，尤其是最開始熟悉完角色後好不容易進入狀況，準備繼續推進劇情的時候，就被迫脫離進入狀況的劇情線。與之相關的是，有時候劇情是否進入下一階段並不是非常明顯，我就會在還想探索的情況下進入下一章節。
頻繁轉換視角造成遊玩體驗割裂，而在連續這麼做一輪之後，我根本看不出這三個人有什麼關係，或者在敘事上有任何這樣頻繁換視角的理由。
與上一點相關的是，三個角色共用一張地圖，所以我用完一個角色跑來跑去，換一個角色就還要繼續在同一張圖上的同樣的互動點到處點擊。重複性很高。
最後，地圖乍看很大，但很空，有很多地方根本沒有交互點，或者交互的都是沒有特殊意義的東西，跑步速度又很慢，幾件事加起來就讓人很燥。

中规中矩的一款CRPG。喜欢蒸汽朋克和伦敦风味的小伙伴可以入手。文本写的还是蛮不错的，可惜结局有点简陋。
另外游戏音乐不太出彩，也没有配音，基本可以静音玩；地图不大，但需要经常跑图，不能忍受超多次画面加载的慎入。

Sovereign Syndicate wydaje się być owocem ciekawego pomysłu, który nawet nie tyle nie miał środków na jego zrealizowanie, ile planu.

Jest to historia osadzona w steampunkowym świecie. Niestety rzeczony steampunkt tutaj się objawia w stopniu bardzo lekkim - twórcy najwyżej sięgają po estetykę, w bardzo wybiórczych momentach zarówno historii jak i dekoracji, aniżeli zagłebiają się w nią. Tutaj się pojawi alternatywna nazwa znanych nam państw (okazyjnie zbioru tych państw), tam się pojawi zeppelin, ale poza tym, gdyby gra się działa w realistycznie historycznym Londynie - nic by się nie zmieniło. I niby tak, nie ma potrzeby na każdym kroku dawać skomplikowanych mechanizmów parowych, ale elementów jest na tyle mało, że przez 26 godzin gry one się zwyczajnie zatracają.

Długość gry jest kolejnym problemem - wynika ona głownie z nieprzemyślanego rozplanowania historii. Ona nas ciągle rzuca po wszystkich dostępnych lokacjach, dwie z których są niepotrzebnie duże, i te lokacje są zwyczajnie puste. Jednocześnie, jeżeli chcemy angażować się w jak największą ilość side questów, musimy pobiegać po tym całym dostępnym świecie aby na pewno nie zgubić NPCa który może nam zadanie zlecić. Zadania same z siebie też jakieś ciekawe nie są pod względem mechanicznym - sprowadzają się do biegania, a historie, które się za nimi kryją, tylko w połowie potrafią dać nam jakiś satysfakcjonujący dialog czy urywek intrygi.

A propos historii, ona naprawdę potrzebuje redaktora. Nierzadko wydarzenia gubią związek przyczynowo-skutkowy, poziom pisania dialogów podobnie nierzadko siada i wydaje się być bardziej wstępną wersją dialogu niż ostateczną, sama historia cierpi na spore problemy w rytmie. Najbardziej w tym wszystkim jest irytujące, że dialogi są bezpośrednio związane z mechaniką rzutu kością (tutaj kość jest zamieniona na wyciąganie kart tarota, co jest akurat czysto estetycznie fajną odmianą) - jeżeli rzut się nie uda, możemy nie tylko przegrać misję poboczną, ale też nie otrzymać nawet strzępku stosownych informacji... po czym dialog z kolejną osobą zakłada że my jednak uzyskaliśmy te informacje, co konfunduje w stopniu znacznym.

Podobnie konfunduje dobrana muzyka - jest zazwyczaj okej, ale kiedy wchodzę do pralni i zaczyna grać budującą napięcie kapela smyczkowa, to coś wydaje się być nie na miejscu.

I wiadomo, większość problemów da się wyjaśnić brakiem środków - indie studio, nie mieli budżetu na wypełnienie tych lokacji, mogli już nie mieć czasu na lepszą kontrolę jakości czy poprawki redaktorskie (no i pieniędzy na redaktora), zabrakło środków na muzykę więc użyli tego co pozostało.

Ale można było też lepiej zaplanować całe przedsięwzięcie - można było pozostawić esencję tej gry, czyli dialogi z postaciami (i swoimi wlasnymi cechami osobowości) oparte na rzucie kością, ale okroić te większe lokacje, wyciąć najmniej potrzebne questy poboczne, zmienić mechanikę gry na bardziej tradycyjne point and click (kochałbym), albo zwyczajnie zrobić bardziej rozbudowaną wizualnie (nomen-omen) visual novelkę. W skrócie - zaplanować mniejszy, ale bardziej treściwy projekt. A tak, mamy mocną ambicję z bardzo słabym poziomem egzekucji. A szkoda. Lubię steampunk i chciałbym więcej dobrych gier po tę estetykę sięgających.

If Fallen London crossed with Disco Elysium sounds like a good thing to you, then buy this game. One thing this studio seems to do fairly well is pick up on the good bits of other games, and mix them up with some extra flavour.

8/10. would recommend for a wet Sunday evening when you don't really want to think about going to work on Monday.

Как замена диско элизума пойдет. Не понравилось, что играем за троих, а выбор вступить в синдикат только у минотавра. Как будто ветка Рид самая непонятная, сложная. Ветке с гномом я выбрал, что обротня доставлю с помощником лично, но почему мы его доставили за кадром неизвесно кому, получили награду не сразу и не принимала обротня глава портовых псов. Это самый сильный не дочёт в игре. Из плюсов, что хотя бы болванчики по улице бегают, персонажи на одинаковые события смотрят под разным углом, уникальные персонажи в ветках.

Клоны успешных инди-игр уже не новинка. И мне пока не понравился ни один из них. Ни клон Баннер Саги - Ash of Gods, ни клон Darkest Dungeon - Иратус. Я с удовольствием потратила на Баннер Сагу 170 часов, 420 часов подарила жопосжигающему Даркест Данжену, взахлёб дважды прошла Диско Элизиум, что заняло 68 часов. Но если в клонах других игр я не смогла продержаться и полчаса, то клон Диско Элизиума Sovereign Syndicate смог выбить у меня свои 13 часов на одно полное прохождение. Поэтому, не смотря на то, что отзыв мой скорей нейтральный, а не положительный, будет палец вверх.

Диско Элизиум может похвастаться колоритными персонажами, самобытным, причудливым миром, безумными диалогами ГГ со своей "внутренней империей", оригинальным сюжетом, своеобразным юмором, интересной системой прокачки с необычными характеристиками. Чем может похвастаться Sovereign Syndicate? Заезженным сюжетом о "Лондонский потрошителе", блёклыми героями без какой-либо изюминки, водянистыми диалогами, неумением в юмор, прокачкой, на которую ты не можешь влиять напрямую путём вкладыванием собственноручно оков в определённые характеристики.

Если в Диско Элизиуме при непрохождении бросков вы получаете штрафы или реакции (я помню как Гарри сидел на неудобном стуле, пока его собеседник толкал речь xD Мне аж самой неудобно стало), то в Sovereign Syndicate вы получаете только надпись "успех" или "провал". После успеха или провала диалог просто идёт дальше по своим рельсам.

Сюжет абсолютно линеен, а концовка создаёт впечатление, что это был всего-навсего затянувшийся пролог к какой-то другой, настоящей игре. Потенциал сеттинга с минотаврами, кентаврами, циклопами и даже кое-какой магией, абсолютно не раскрыт.

Хотя, если б разработчики действительно были креативны и талантливы, разве они сделали бы клон другой успешной игры?

Резюмируя написанное, игру можно рекомендовать только любителям почитать и по большой скидке.

Неплохая игра, которую могу посоветовать в первую очередь любителям квестов.

В основе сюжета лежит неплохая детективная история, объединяющая трех персонажей, каждый из которых имеет свои "скелеты в шкафу". Интереса сюжету добавляет и мрачная атмосфера Лондона.

С точки зрения геймплея - это поинт энд клик (квест) изометрия с вкраплениями ролевых элементов в стиле Диско Элизиум.

刚开始玩可能会一头雾水，三个主角无时不刻都在头脑风暴，自己跟自己对话，但是玩进去之后，发现这种从稀碎的线索拼凑出真相的快感也是其他游戏无法比拟的，游戏内场景地图探索点很多，各种事件通过塔罗牌进行判定，感觉像是在看一本书，随着剧情的推进缓慢掀开书页，了解真相。

有点像极乐迪斯科的侦探题材游戏，但文本更易读系统也更轻量，更容易上手些。游戏里鉴定时不是投掷骰子而是翻塔罗牌这点挺新奇的，而且美术呈现的是我很喜欢的维多利亚蒸汽朋克风格，场景精致氛围营造也比较到位。需要注意的是我们需要从各个支线对话中了解故事的脉络，如果忘记了或者错过了就会少一些剧情，对游戏的完整性有点影响，喜欢极乐迪斯科的话这款游戏应该会挺对胃口的

Für das, was es ist, ist es nicht schlecht. Es ist eine interaktive Krimi-Geschichte aus mehreren Perspektiven und mit Verwebungen. ABER gerade gegen Ende weist es einfach inhaltliche Schwächen auf und das Ende kommt VIEL zu plötzlich und man hat das Gefühl, man hat einen Prolog gespielt. Das eigentliche Spiel startet dann aber gar nicht und das lässt einen enttäuscht zurück. Daher möchte ich das Spiel nicht weiterempfehlen... außer es ist im Sale und man hat gerade kein gutes Buch zur Hand

This was a tough one to figure out my feelings for, but it did make me feel like I needed to say something about it. I wish there was a sideways thumb to rate this game using, since it wasn't the worst, but it also wasn't anything very good either.

Now I played this game because of its obvious, intentional resemblance to Disco Elysium, and that is exactly what I wanted from the game. It succeeded in some ways in replicating what was enjoyable in DE, but in most ways it was very pale in comparison. The best thing I can say about its resemblance really is that it made me want to play DE again.

Where DE excelled in its characters, writing and worldbuilding, Sovereign Syndicate was rather milquetoast and felt uninspired. I was never really moved to care for these characters or setting. Primarily the three protagonists. It didn't feel enough like there WERE three characters. When they would examine elements of the environment, they would all have similar, barely-changing reactions, using stilted observation dialogues with similar vocabulary. None of them stuck out very much. Neither did the NPCs, everyone was cardboard.

I believe part of the blame for this relies on something I haven't seen much of before when it comes to video games, but nonetheless I have a strong suspicion of. The use of AI, partially at the very least, for writing.
I am very familiar with AI writing, and at certain points the dialogue, and [i]especially[/i] the flavor text when moving between locations, screamed AI to me. Just the structure and incredibly benign prose felt robotic in tone, in the opinion of someone who works with AI and is very familiar with its writing style.
There was a moment that stuck out to me where, in a game taking place in Victorian England, a character makes a "Where's the beef?" Wendy's advertisement reference. Followed by the in-game narration drawing attention to it (something like "she paused for a few moments, waiting for the odd reference to resonate"), as if it made sense for a character to do. There is asolutely no way a human being wrote something like that. This is a computer trying to make a joke about a cow and being unaware that it's extremely out-of-place and offputting. If the accusations of AI are misplaced, I apologize. But the only other explanation is just having such generic and flat writing that it resembles that of an AI's to such an extent.

There are some other things I could get into, such as the pointlessness of most of the choices, the "hope" mechanic, and the banality and underwhelming outcome to the sidequests and the overall story, including the perplexing reveal of what the "Sovereign Syndicate" itself even is. But I don't wish to. Suffice to say, this was somehow simultaneously a somewhat interesting game and a wholly uninteresting game.
