I thought this was more of an astronomy game, but then your planets has life and military. No thanks.

Comprei esse jogo quando era criança (uns 7 ou 8 anos) e não entendia nada, mas era divertido, hoje, joguei de novo e meu deus, que jogo igualmente divertido e engraçado, pena que foi apagado pela sombra de outros jogos grandes, uma ótima experiência pra quem quer só se divertir e fazer missões que são desafiadoras e gratificantes.

To be honest, I don't understand the praise this game gets. It is extremely simple mechanically, and the gameplay loop is non-interesting, in my opinion. I got bored playing this, but I tried to enjoy it.

It's good. Educational and hard to master. But based on science.
Solar 2 has a genuinely strong visual presentation, and its physics system still stands out even today. Watching celestial bodies interact, grow, collide, and spiral into chaos is fascinating and, at times, beautiful. Conceptually, the idea of evolving from a tiny object into something truly cosmic is compelling and well executed on a visual level.
However, my biggest problem are the controls.
They feel noticeably outdated. Once the screen fills up with around 30 objects moving and interacting at the same time, things quickly become overwhelming. Important actions are mapped to keys that are far away from the main movement controls, and key rebinding either does not exist or did not work for me.
For example, whether you absorb an entire planet or only its asteroids depends on pressing Space or L. The L key is extremely far from WASD, and even when using the arrow keys as an alternative for movement, the problem remains because the L key sits on the same side of the keyboard. In stressful situations, this makes precise control frustrating rather than challenging in a good way.
I also really missed an option to reduce the game speed. Slowing things down would make it much easier to catch asteroids or react properly when many objects are interacting at once. Unfortunately, Solar 2 was released about 13 years ago and no longer receives updates, so these quality-of-life improvements are unlikely to ever arrive.
Because of this, Solar 2 remains a very niche experience. Despite its strong visuals and interesting ideas, only players who can comfortably handle a lot of simultaneous information and awkward controls will be able to play it in a relaxed way.
For everyone else, my personal recommendation is Not Recommended.

A very interesting game, quite something, especially as a dev' university project. A great simulator with a potential for one day - new version.

Особые миссии и испытания добавляют долю разнообразия, хотя и порой они очень сложные, но если играть чисто на прохождение, то игра очень легкая, и где-то за 1 час можно пройти.
Советую тем, кому хочется просто убить немного времени.

The developers of this game took a concept, a game following the life of microscopic organisms, that have already been abundant on the market and changed it up to focus on solar systems plus threats in outer space, including possible alien vessels. Not too much to say here regarding the gameplay. What you see is what you get and that alone speaks volumes, even for $9.99. It's fun being a star.

I like it how it play but they to add more updates
It's a fun game but one of the mandatory mission is broken. Annoyingly it's one that takes multiple minutes to get through and the broken part is right near the end, at which point the obstacles suddenly become chaotic and nearly impossible to dodge. There is a way to bypass this mandatory mission, but there's also an optional challenge version of the mission which you have to do legit and with minimal damage. This glitch makes that challenge effectively impossible to get the silver or gold medal on. It's kind of a big deal considering what a small game this is.

This is what I call a game. It doesn't need to be complex in order to be fun and this game shows that. The gameplay is perfect, it doesn't take too much time to finish it and it can be played longer if you want to explore side missions and secrets. Excellent graphics and soundtracks that fit the theme of the game. This is a real gem!

Fantastic, chill soundtrack with relatively easy gameplay and lax missions, though there is a slight challenge if you choose to 100% the game. Easy to drop in and out of, would pick up if you've got the time and funds to spare.

What a great game. Still runs flawlessly in 2025. Fly around, create your planet, then your star, then your black hole...and then your whole new universe.
It has "story" missions and challenges, all of which are fun and some really take some effort. No tedium, no needlesssly complicated mechanisms. Just a fun and simple game to enjoy!
Extremely shallow. You can play the whole game play loop in just a few minutes. This game is super slow, which could be relaxing. But it's an exercise in frustration to try to get your character to move where you want them to, when you want them to. This is the most boring and frustrating sim I've ever played. It is fun for those first few minutes, then I can't recommend it anymore.

Lovely little space game where you start out as an asteroid careening through space gathering mass and dodging space pirates all the way up until you become an all-consuming black hole! Loved this game on my xbox and just as fun on the PC. I hope for a sequel one day.

I totally forgot i have this. I remember playing this a lot on my phone like 10 years ago.
Quite fun.
Can't really say much about it. Build planet, then star, then solar system, then black hole, then new universe. It can be a bit annoying at times. Especially some of the optional missions are but still a great game. The challenges are also fun and getting all achievements requires some tactical approaches.
You could probably 100% the game in 3 or 4 hours if you set that as your goal. But i recomend just playing around for a bit and testing out things. remember to save systems that you maybe wanna do other things with.

From big bang to big crunch ASAP
As good today as it was when it first came out. It does't feel dated, it hasn't been left behind and now feels like it needs a million QoL updates... it just plays well. A criminally overlooked game that deserves another entry, if not a spiritual continuation.

This is a very chill game with a pretty simple gameplay loop. Music is great, and you get to play with physics on a stellar scale.
Plus, you get to ram multiple civilizations' worth of planets into another star to destroy it if you want.
