At this point I think that the only old school ARPGs worth playing ( and I played a lot of them including Mage Knight Apocalypse ) are Sacred Gold and Diablo 2. And maybe Dungeon Siege on a good day. All the others are just cheap copycats, poorly designed and unbalanced, and Silverfall makes no exception.

There is a reason it faded into obscurity.

Silverfall is a grind to madness.
You can´t skip the 30 minutes intro where you play with a mage, you need to play this every time you start a new game.
When the "real" game starts with your character, you need to really grind.
Simpel for me is that, this is not my type of game, I would not recommend it.

nul à chier ce jeu. Tu meurs tu perds tout ton stuff tu dois retourner ou tu es mort pour le récupérer ensuite tu dois le remettre depuis ton inventaire mais quand tu vas dans ton invenmtentaire le jeu ne se met pas sur pause donc tu as le temps de mourir 20 fois avant de mettre ton stuff et les ennemis en normal ce sont de gros sac à pv. Eux ils te mettent 3 coups au début t'est mort toi t'es au même lvl que eux tu leur mets 3 coups ils sont encore full vie mais c'est logique. En plus il y a tellement d'ennemis qui te rush la gueule au début que tu fais que de crver en boucle vu que le temps d'aller récupérer ton stuff tu as une dizaines d'ennemis qui te rush la gueule. Donc le temps d'aller récuper les ennemis eux is sont full stuf toi tu est à poile mais les ennemis peuvent te tuer pendant que tu vas récupérer ton stuff aberrant nul à chier c'avoir fait ce système. Au moins le temps de récupérer ton stuff et de le mettre. Les devs auraient pu mettre que les ennemis t'agressent. Parce que c'est vrai que c'est amusant de se faire fumer la gueule contre des ennemis full stuf quand toi tu AS PLUS ON STUFF TOUT à FAIT LOGIQUE.. En plus ils disent qu'on peut se déplacer avec ZQSD mais c'est pas vrai. Obliger de se déplacer avec le clique de la souris et je trouve sa complètement nul à chier. Je sais pas quoi ils auraient pas pu mettre en option le choix de se déplacer soit au clavier u soit à la souris non c'est trop demander sa. C'est vrai qu'il y a pas assez de touches sur un clavier pour se déplacer. C'est vrai que une souris à plus de touches qu'une manette n'importe quoi.

An sich ein schönes Spiel aus 2007, Errungenschaften hin oder her, wen juckts, kommt doch aufs Spiel an ;)

die Steam Versionen laufen leider nicht, was ich sehr schade finde, auch wenns unter 2 Eulo im Angebot waren.

Wer das noch von damals mag, und kein Laufwerk hat aber das Spiel in CD/DVD, empfehl ich ein externes Laufwerk falls keins habts, ich schließ daher mein alten Vista 64Bit Eigenbau PC aus 2007 an. Heutzutage dann aber lieber ohne Internetzugang :D Quadcore 4x2,67 Ght 8GB DDR2 9800GTx mit 512mb Graka dann halt wieder an, da der die Laufwerke hat^^. PS: auch Crysis, FarCry3, ETS2+Mods,Skyrim Anni. laufen mit der Hardware rund bei 60fps+

Zum Spiel, hab es damals geliebt, schöne Story, grafisch ok wenn mans mag und das mit dem Kamera scrollen war auch echt schnieke.
Silverfall gibts auch für die olle PSP :) Story 1zu1, Lvl aber unterschliedlich, da auch die Welten unterschiedlich sind, am PC lvl 17 ist auf der PSP lvl 37 mit dem selben Quest Fortschritt und man konnt es mit der PSP mit anderen Spielern die auch ne PSP hatten dann gemeinsam zocken wenn die nah genug dran waren, also z.B. in der Stube, hat echt Spaß gemacht. Hoffe das wird noch für Win 11 Home&Pro gefixt. Dann lad ich mal die PSP :D hab da jetz echt Bock drauf, solltens vielleicht auf fürs Steamdeck checken, wie gesagt, gabs ja auch für die PSP, wäre nicht verkehrt da ich immer mal wieder das Steamdeck im Auge hab und mir eigentlich gönnen will, grade bei Angeboten wie es grade wieder sind :)

i think the game were great. its like modern version of dungeon siege, your attack wont miss, the combat more faster and look like classic Wow. monster scaling with you, but not everyone. in some area the monster will stop scaling with you and reach their max lvl. marsland monster only scaling up to 10-15 common to champion variant, its a sign you already beyond that area, and there plenty monster variants and city theme. people who whining because there is little to none monster variant, cleary not playing this game long enough to see it. in every new city you visited, you gonna get 3-7 new unique monster to that area, which is fitting that city theme. marshland got zombie and skeleton and monster plant, in clockwork city you got goblin, mechanic spider, goblin with mechanic wheelchair, dragon mech and so on. there cleary enough variation to make every city unique.

the combat just consist repeating click until monster dead, cleary is inspired by dungeon siege or old baldur gate, you can highlight every dropped item by pressing "alt", there no need pixel hunting, you would've know this if you play siege or baldur, "alt" button is standard for this function. you only need farming at early game, after you choose what builds you want to make, you dont have farm at all, especially once you got your 2 companion. i playing archer, my companion is fighter and healer, i just hit enemies before he walk reaching me. this game will be easier if you not spread perk, if you want play archer then just ignore strength and goes all the way to agility. the number of companion is quite a lot, every new city gives you 2 new recruitable companion, do one quest for them and they start follow you. its pretty cool that the story alter based on your loyalty to technology or nature, and companion have their own loyalty that make them unable wear nature/tech armor. not until you finish their additional quest, which make every companion have 2 quest to alter them to follow your preferable loyalty.

An oldie but worth playing. I often come back to this game now and again when I want a break from new games. I always get stuck at Cloud works though and not sure what to do to progress, Map isnt very helpful even from the start as NPCs are just green dots on the map with no names at all so you have to remember where each NPC is to see them for quests. Pretty decent. I remember getting it for less than $2 in sale :)

На момент релиза игры владел диском с данным творением и полностью прошёл его и в целом опыт был удовлетворительный на "тот момент" но сейчас играть в это откровенно больно как с технической стороны так и с игровой, всё крайне примитивно и крайне коряво и с пустым миром, если в свое время вы прошли мимо данного произведения то собственно нечего не потеряли оно и на момент выхода было такое себе.

Very ambitious game from a small company. It's a rough, janky and unpolished hidden gem. The gameplay is a mixture of arpg and more traditional crpg.

pro:
- very simple but satisfying combat
- interesting gear
- expansive skill trees with a lot of fun builds
- choices affect what skills you can use (technology vs nature)
- very good visual variety (areas and enemy designs)
- the visuals are very dated but still have a certain charme
- writing was better than expected and there where some fun dialogues
- voice acting is allright (only important quests have it)

con:
- combat is very repetitive and feels more or less the same against all enemies and bosses
- some annoying bugs (f.e. I couldnt complete one of the side quests)
- very generic and boring story (basically chasing one mcguffin after another)
- clunky and unintuitive controls
- you will get stuck on terrain constantly (probably most annoying part of the game)
- performance is lackluster (but doesnt matter that much because of the slow combat)
- you have to manually install a legacy support version for nvidia physix to be able to play the game
- even on full hd the text is to small to read, so you probably have to opt for an even lower resolution (I played on 1366x768)

tl;dr:

- hidden gem if you like rough and janky rpgs and arent turned down by outdated graphics

A nice little game, for nostalgia alone. It's not that bad as the negative reviewers say. It worked well for me, apart for 5 crashes in all the playthrough, but considering the age, I can't blame that. Dragon Age Origins is unplayable compared to this and it's way more recent. I had fun with it. Worth the money. Most of the bad reviews are from players that didn't bother to read the texts from quests, and yes, it does have wide screen support and high resolution.

Played it a while back, when I was younger, and I had the patience to finish it. But now...the game is borderline unplayable. It crashes frequently when changing the zones...and with the iffy saving system, you will replay whole sections. The story is nonexistent and the gameplay is mostly braindead, unfortunately. And also you have to install a very old physics driver for the game to run. Not worth your time...

Fazit:
Silverfall soll ein RPG mit interessanter Hintergrundgeschichte sein. Besonders die Auswahl zwischen Cyborg und Naturbursche fand ich ansprechend.
Das Spiel funktioniert jedoch nicht. Nach Start kommt eine Fehlermeldung, welche nachdem man auf "OK" gedrückt hat, das Programm schließt. Diese Fehlermeldung kann man offen lassen kann, um auf die benötigte Minutenanzahl zu kommen, damit man ein Review schreiben kann.
Nicht spielbar und somit auch nicht Empfehlenswert!!!!

[i] Был наслышан об игре от многих. Часто видел её в рекомендациях и всё же решил попробовать.
Разочарованию нет предела. Возможно игра была на выходе крайне интересной и в силу не с чем толком сравнить, была более играбельной.

Самые серьёзные претензии к игре - её неудобство. Дискомфорт:
- Терпимый пункт, однако при открытии настроек графики выкидывает из игры;
- Не смог до конца выявить какие пункты ломают слегка оптимизацию, но что-то из настроек графики явно не очень хорошо оптимизировано;
- Просто ужаснейшая камера! И это непростительно для подобного жанра и геймплея. Она очень сильно близко расположена к герою. С учётом, что весь геймплей это лкм-отбег/лкм-выстрел и так по кругу. Порой даже нажимать некуда отбегать. И не просто близко, но повернуть её тоже особо не дают, только из стороны в сторону;
- В догонку, герой любит застрять или не мочь пройти по клику, какое-то препятствие. Хотя по факту пройти можно, но текстурка какая-то мешает;
- Не успел посмотреть каков текст в оригинале, но при руссификации текст очень тяжело читаемый. Он в районе 8-9 размера текста, если сравнивать с вордовским;
- В игре нет даже пары пунктов настроек управления, можно перенести только скиллы на панель;
- Хилки на ХП и МП стоят на 9 и 0, перебиндить нельзя;
- Всё делается мышкой. Открыть карту, инвентарь, скиллы, характеристики, всё жмякаем ЛКМ, даже эскейпом окно не закрывается;
- Задания не понятно как отслеживаются. Раз тыкнул, оно появилось на карте, второй раз тыкнул, уже не появляется;
- Мобов обычно кучка, 3-4. АОЕ скиллов нет на старте и не будет в дальнейшем, ибо находятся нормальные скиллы массовые в последних тирах навыков;

Из понравившегося:
- Прикольная прокачка, которая тебя не ограничивает в классе;
- Очень приятно игра выглядит и по сей день. Стилистика приятная;
- У игры видна своя стилистика с первых минут. [/i]

Short review after finishing the game. Sadly i cannot recommend this game as its simply bad and there are far better options out there, even older games.

Pros:
- Beatiful hub cities/camps, like clockwork city
- 2 sides of proggression nature or technology, you cant have both and you get a skill tree and specific weapons and armors pursuing one of the sides which gives you some customization and replayability
- Decent skill system allowing you different playstyles

Cons:
- Horrible maps, basicly oversized empty maps with 3 to 4 sized group of monsters with not much variety
- Monsters lv up with you to a certain extent making proggresion seem empty
- Bad loot system, when loot drops its only indicated by a smoke, when you kill a big monsters beacuse of its big corpse you cant see your loot unless you scan every pixel at that location or wait for it to despawn
- Horrible main story and sidequests, looks like someone mashed different child plots togheter without proper tone or story proggresion
- If you die your companions also magicly die even if full health...

Can only recommend to bizzare rpg enjoyers.

La sfortuna che ho sempre avuto con questo gioco è incommensurabile; non so per quale motivo accada, ma succede ogni volta.

Lo comprai per la prima volta molti anni fa, quando ancora avevo Windows XP come sistema operativo (bei tempi); i requisiti consigliati – e sottolineo consigliati, non minimi – li avevo tutti abbondantemente… eppure l’avatar che sceglievo era costituito da una serie di figure geometriche e spigolose di colore rosa. Di fatto non sono mai riuscito ad andare oltre al menu iniziale – quello di costruzione e personalizzazione del/della protagonista. Che palo nel didietro!

Quando poi ho trovato Silverfall in offerta su Steam, ho voluto riprenderlo sia per un fattore di “nostalgia” sia per poter finalmente giocare a ciò che mi era stato negato tempo addietro. Peccato che stavolta si sia verificato l’esatto opposto: l’avatar è ben visibile, ma il menu di gioco con le varie opzioni è sgranato, indistinto, indefinito; di fatto non si capisce dove si stia cliccando. E dire che anche stavolta le condizioni per farlo girare correttamente le ho tutte… e invece non gira, ma in compenso girano a me un paio di altre cose.

Capisco che i giochi vecchi abbiano talvolta problemi di compatibilità e che sicuramente, affidandosi a un esperto nel settore, sarà possibile sistemare in qualche modo la questione, ma quanto tempo e soldi extra toccherà spendere? Senza contare che, alla prima occasione in cui si disinstallerà il gioco e lo si reinstallerà, succederà la medesima cosa. Mi dispiace, ma proprio non credo che ne valga la pena.

Silverfall is an ancient and broken game from 2007. It's a whopping 17 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge, or just a cash grab to try profit from abandonware.

The game itself is broken, and if you could get it to work, you'd find it's just a mediocre ripoff of successful ARPGs like Diablo/Path of Exile/Torchlight. The key difference is that those games work properly and this one doesn't. The game was highly derivative, clunky, and repetitive... not even close to being a good representative of the genre. And now, it's abandoned by the developer who refuses to maintain their software, and yet has no qualms about trying to get gamers to pay them for it anyway.

On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.

Unethically, the developers have left this on the Steam store in an unplayable and broken state. It's the responsibility of the developer to maintain their product, ensure it runs on all modern PCs, or if they determine there's defects and the game doesn't work, they should remove it from sale instead of misleadingly trying to scam gamers into buying knowingly defective products.

This is harmful to Steam and to gamers, not just because it's a direct and intentional attempt to scam people, but because it takes a share of the marketing space and visibility away from other games. It's polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuine games and for genuine indie developers who put months or years into making proper games find an audience.

So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the utterly unrealistic price of $5 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them.

For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Warhammer: Vermintide 2", "Mass Effect 3" or "Left 4 Dead 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

Esse ARPG é underrated e pouco conhecido, mas proporciona uma experiência muito divertida no estilo Diablo (é claro que não no mesmo nível de qualidade e conteúdo). Vale a pena comprar em uma promoção, pois ele fica bem baratinho, e é divertido por algumas horas até começar a se tornar repetitivo. A jogabilidade é simples e hack’n’slash, há várias habilidades diferentes e vcê vai escolhendo qual quiser sem ficar presa em um sistema de classes, aqui vcê pode experimentar de tudo um pouco, desde o típico guerreiro e arqueiro até o mago druida ou necromante. Além do mais o jogo conta com uma história até que interessante, mas o que cansa mesmo é o grind e a quantidade e exagerada de inimigos em todo canto, lembrou até a trilogia de ARPG do Van Helsing, um monte de inimigo forte indo pra cima e te fazendo morrer em segundos se vcê não se preparar bem. Enfim, Silverfall não é nenhuma obra prima, mas ainda assim é mto bom e recomendo dar uma chance, nem se for pra jogar apenas algumas horinhas até cansar.

I first got this on CD back in the day because of a flashy box art and never got past the swamp - it was that hard for some reason yet captivating to this day. Found it online years later and finally got around to power through just recently, and what can I say: this is a bad game. Once you get a healer companion (almost at the start) the whole thing turns into a series of LMB-clear mob pack with autoattack-rest-repeat. There's no gameplay, just constant LMB. No story, funky visuals though. Unfortuantely teenage nostalgia didn't help one bit. Miss it.

This game is worth looking at, i like the way you have a choice between nature and machine, rather then good and evil. nature builds with the land, but machine is stronger but turns your surrounding into a wasteland. quite cleaver. plays a lot like dungeon siege 2. it also has a toon-shader, so it is an old game, but it doesn't age badly because of the shader. Remember that this game is more for nostalgic purposes as there are newer games out. If you like playing classics and games that lead to some iconic game-play styles in today's gaming, then check this game out

TL;DR: A nostalgia trip, but not worth playing for the first time.

Silverfall is a game that held a special place in my heart from my childhood. The game's premise, pitting nature against progress, was intriguing, but unfortunately, the game fails to deliver on that promise with its generic storyline and outdated gameplay. Although I still had fun playing through the game, it was mostly for nostalgia's sake.

If you played and enjoyed Silverfall in the past, you'll probably still have fun revisiting it. However, if you're considering playing this game for the first time, I'd recommend giving it a pass and playing something like Titan Quest instead. Overall, Silverfall is a solid meh/10.

Silverfall является моей первой RPG. На тот момент я не был избалован гигантами жанра (aka Diablo 2) , не знал принципов отыгрыша роли, не слышал о D&D и тд. Но даже сейчас, спустя много лет, я возвращаюсь в этот мир, где странным образом уживается классическое фентэзи и стимпанк, где сюжет банален и прост, а ветви прокачки довольно выразительны и разносторонни. И так, давайте немного по подробнее поговорим об этой игре.

Плюсы:
+ Разнообразные ветви прокачки и огромное количество сетовых вещей с привязкой к параметрам позволяют вам отыграть абсолютно любого героя, которого вы придумаете. Даже если это саппорт.
Паладины, некроманты, охотники, оборотни, маги, инженеры. Этот список довольно объёмен.
+ Рисованная графика и селшейдинг позволили игре не состарится, и картинка все еще может радовать глаз. Особенно в "зеленых" локациях и уровнях из DLC.
+ Вместо системы морали ( тк герой все равно идет по сюжетным рельсам) представлена система мировозрения. С помощью доп квестов и диалогов с напарниками герой становится на сторону прогресса или природы. Это открывает возможность использовать уникальную броню и оружие, а так же вкладку инжинера / друида. Вы сможете стать киборгом с имплантами, или диким оборотнем, который разрывает в клочья все на своем пути.
+ Система крафта из DLC позволяет создавать эквип под ваши нужды, настраивать визуал и свойства предметов, выбирать любой цвет из палитры RGB

Минусы:
- Сюжет в игре представлен для галочки. Он нужен только для того, что бы герой посетил все локации в правильном порядке.
- Напарники очень тупые, они не рационально используют свои скилы, и по сути нужны для прокачки мировозрения героя. Действительно эффективными являются Денселейм (убийца) и Лина (маг). Полезность остальных спутников варируются от инвалид до "ну, он прикольный". Если играть от саппорта, то эти двое - ваш выбор.
- Стрельба очень сильно проигрывает в нанесении урона. Вы пройдете игру любым стрелком и без пати, но маги и милишники сделают это быстрее и драйвовее.

Итог: в свое время вышло множество клонов Diablo, но этот проект имеет свой самобытный стиль, приятно играется, и дает волю в билдостроении. Рекомендую всем любителям стимпанка, или старых Action RPG!

I played Silverfall when I was teenager, I didn’t finish it back then and decided to grab it and give it another try, because it was dirt cheap (like 2€). And boy, oh boy… the game’s got its problems.
First of all, the devs decided to go fully 3D, so you can set your camera at whatever angle and as close to the character as you wish. This helps a bit with the navigation as the game’s terrain in some locations is quite a hindrance or should I say a mess, because the geometry is not only ugly, but also carelessly made, so you can get stuck in some places and the only solution would be to teleport to another location (which also doesn’t always work properly and can throw you to a different location than selected, besides there’s only a handful of locations marked on the map that can be chosen) or quit to character selection screen - both options force you to backtrack, so you can waste a lot of time.

The maps feel quite empty for the most part and clearly the devs wanted to artificially prolong the game by forcing player to run around mountains and bodies of water.
Not to mention that the map’s edges are not blocked out by the terrain, but in some places they just look like if it was a tabletop game and the world just ends.

The objects’ collisions also don’t help, as some enemies’ field of interaction is so big that the character gets stuck under then until you kill them, which may pose a problem if you play a glass cannon type of build. Same happens when you get surrounded by a group of enemies - you simply cannot move and escape and you can quickly die which, again, equals the backtracking.
The solution is to hire your companions as soon as possible, as they can either heal you, tank or increase outgoing damage and help you eliminate the targets faster (freezing spells are also huge help).

When it comes to looting, you get tons of stuff from the enemies, but there’s no “tetris-style” inventory, so each item takes one slot, but again - there’s no way to get rid of the stuff you don’t need while on a mission, because the merchants are only in the main hubs, so you end up losing a lot of items and profit. It’s extremely hard to come by the highest grade of equipment (got literally one item of the highest quality during the playthrough) and higher level doesn’t mean you would get better stats on the items.

I won’t even talk about the plot, as it’s rarely anything special in the hack and slash games, but I gotta mention that in the base game the boss fights are dull, unchallenging and uninspired. All of them were extremely easy while playing as mage. On the other hand some of standard enemies can be pain in your back entrance, as they have no boundaries when it comes to using annoying techniques, so you can get constantly frozen, stunlocked or thrown back until you die. Then there’s an environmental thing again, where the objects become half-, or almost completely, invisible, so it happens that your ranged attacks get unknowingly blocked by them or your character gets confused by their surroundings and out of nowhere starts to attack in a wrong direction.

The graphics are interesting - the art style stands somewhere between realism and comics. Of course, you can see that time took its toll, as the 3D graphics age more like a milk than like a wine, but it’s still unique and can be enjoyable. Optimisation however is not good. On a notebook that could comfortably run Cyberpunk 2077 on its release, the framerate in Silverfall varied from about 140 fps to 20-ish and the closer to the end the worse it happened to be.

The original UI is quite bad - the windows are small and may be hard to read for some people. The status bar is in a bad place, the icons are small and cluttered, plus the game doesn’t signal when you’re near death, so you need to be cautious and constantly look to the lower right corner.

The audio is a mixed bag. Only main characters are voiced (excluding the protagonist). The music is good, but the annoying aspect of it is that if you jump from location to location within the same biome, you can hear the same track starting over and over again.

What’s good about Silverfall?
-Fighting system is OK as long as you don’t get stuck and die unexpectedly;
-The graphics are still plausible;
-The skill tree is varied and you can respec your character whenever you like for a sack of gold;
-The soundtrack is good;
-Your companions have their own opinions and from time to time give comments about the world, presenting their point of view.

Silverfall is not a masterpiece or a classic like Sacred or Diablo, but it still is a playable and quite good h'n's, plus it's dirt cheap.

I remember purchasing this game back in 2007 along with Bioshock and a few other games. It was a service called Direct 2 Drive. Thing is, I was able to play some of the games through Steam. I never thought anything about it. Well time passes and some games stop working. This was one of the games that did not originally play through Steam. I had given up on ever getting this game to work again, but lo and behold, I find it here, on super sell! And guess what?! It works! I didn't have to find work arounds or unoffical patches to get it to work. I played a few minutes of the game, and OMG does it bring back memories.
This game may be a bit much as today most games have voiced options for most text, this one does not. But if you've got the patience to read the text, it's not a bad game at all. I really enjoyed playing it back in the day. Give it a try, it's only a dollar and some change (on sale right now) give er a spin.

Silverfall творіння французько-української студії Monte Cristo, що в 2007 році разом з Loki та Two Worlds, були представниками RPG B-класу. В час коли кожна нова гра перевантажена механіками, а сегмент ігор AA та B класу практично відсутній, і витіснений інді іграми, виглядає дивовижним як колись робили ігри довкола однієї простої ідеї.

В Silverfall сюжет обертається довкола однойменного міста, яке на початку знищується демонами, а головний герой змушений тікати з іншими біженцями. Після чого гравцеві доведеться знайти та об'єднати союзників, щоб дати відсіч демонам та відновити місто. А яке воно буде має вирішити головний герой. В цьому і заключається головна ідея гри - це протистояння природи і технологій. І від вибору гравця на користь техніків чи природників, буде змінюватись не тільки зовнішній вигляд героя, і його здібностей, а й те як буде виглядати Сільверфол. Окрім основного сюжету гравця навантажують додатковими квестами, які можна поділити на непотрібні і непотрібні. За виконання додаткових завдань гравець не отримає ні якогось особливого луту, або досвіду.

Гра починається зі створення героя, вибору його раси та зовнішності. На вибір гравцеві дається 4 раси, або 6 в доповненні, це стандартні людина, ельф, гоблін, дворф, троль, і незвичний за своїми дизайном техно ящірка. Кожна раса має свої унікальні здібності. Клас героя ми обираємо в процесі гри.

За геймплеєм Silverfall простенький клон Dungeon Siege. Де гравцеві доведеться заклікати до смерті сотні ворогів, зібрати партію ще з двох героїв, якими не можна керувати напряму, прокачати різноманітні здібності та вибити найкрутіший шмот, щоб бути готовим до фінального бою. В своєму проходженні я обрав шлях лучника, і на початку вороги давали прикупити. Однак ще на першій локації я розкачався так, що до кінця гри всі вороги та боси падали з пари пострілів.

Підсумовуючи вище сказане Silverfall це продукт свого часу, який не хапає зірок з неба, проте виконує свою основну функцію розважати гравця. Благо гра проходиться скоріше ніж починає набридати.

I only played for a few minutes, and used keyboard and mouse. I have no childhood connection to this game, but I wanted to play something akin to Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes and was recommended this game.

The controls were interesting to say the least. Left mouse functioned as the only way to move, while also being the only way to attack. It did not work as smoothly as Diablo did, the context was rarely understood in this game. You could click away from an enemy, but the game would take it as if you meant to launch an attack against an enemy behind you. I did not get much further to experience anything else that may make it less attractive of a game to play, as the base combat loop of being a lvl 30 mage for the tutorial was not entertaining.

I had access to a couple of spells, and quickly found the best loop was a aoe stun followed by a small aoe burst of damage. Against the boss in the tutorial, it was effective enough to prevent me from taking damage. However, using the base attack proved just as effective against some of the other enemies who would be stun-locked by the shotgun blast of 5 magic bolts you shoot as a mage.

There are many promising aspects of this by now old game. Prime among them is that class details and restrictions isn't really an obstacle, and there appears to be a thought out storyline behind the game too. The fights are numerous, tedious and meaningless though, with no real accomplishment coming from them. The controls are a bit half-assed, seeing and picking item drops can be difficult - especially with companions - and the system that upgrades enemies and item drops as you go up in levels makes the task of always having the best items in use tedious as well. The map system also kills a lot of joy in the game, being too simple to the point of being confusing, and along with onedimensional landscapes makes orientation difficult and fails to establish a sense of geography and direction as well as failing to help establish a mood and atmosphere beyond a real basic one. That the game is fairly difficult and punishing, at least if going for some of the routes at the onset, doesn't make the user experience any better. Not a solid game when it was launched, and age hasn't done this game any favors really. An action RPG with a very limited appeal at best, and one best approached with a bit of caution. It is cheap though, so giving it a try won't ruin anyone's wallet.

Addictive, fun and forgiving diabloid. Interface is a bit off, but back then it was okay.
The only bad thing is neverending crashes. Still since 2008 I wasn't being able to finish the game because there's always an impassable crash popping up closer to the end of the game. But nevertheless it's a stylish time-killing hack and slash rpg.

Budget hack-n-slash with no big ambitions. No crazy original mechanics, no revealations for the genre, but I am satisfied with what I've paid for. You've got standard package of clicking to death hordes of mobs, collecting thier loot, occasionally leveling up and distributing skill and attribute points, rinse-repeat.

There are no classes (your racial choice could influence your path with a skill or two though), and you're free to follow any skill tree from the start, though due to a few reasons I'll talk about below, it would make more sense to specialize in one thing rather than trying to mix abilities to make a magic swordsman or something. Enemies match their level with you, so there is one less reason to level up, though I felt like you do get stronger faster than them. Also, most of the mobs you encounter are generic cannon fodder with either melee or ranged weapons. pretty much no enemies which could affect your tactics like healers or buffers, so by the endgame I was getting quite bored

There are also sidequests to spice up the process, and even if you're doing the same mobkilling stuff, sometimes the outcome depends on your dialogue choices, so you've gotta read in carefully to get the outcome you desire. The dialogue choices are no rocket science though, they are usually either "Wholehartedly agree to do the thing" and "Completely antagonize the person you're talking with", but hey, the choice is there. The writing in general is quite alright I guess, it did not make me not read it at least. It is, not to say lighthearted, but it does not take itself too seriously, so worldbuilding is refreshingly not grimdark, unlike most of the H&S games. The setting is not quite original, Warcraft universe is probably the closest inspirations, especially the goblins, but it is not quite commonly encountered one either.

The biggest gimmick of the game is the conflict between technology and nature. The conflict is secondary to the main plot, and it is more of a "cold war" type of conflict, but depending on the side you take, the quests, equipment, companions and even skills available to you will change; some of the plot points will also change, as well as the development path of the titular city. Sadly, the idea is quite underused and underplayed - there's no benefits for trying to play it neutrally, there's no compromises like green technologies or something, and even the sidequests which should not affect the other side make you lose rep with them, since the whole conflict is represented as a single scale "Nature <-> Technology".

Companions are one of the major elements of the game. They have backstories, sidequests and their combat role. You can have up to two of them with you, and they are one of the reasons you don't need to try multiclassing - the thing you lack, they can take care of. As I see it, you pick one of the combat roles with your character between melee-tank, range-dps and healer, and let the other two companions handle the rest of the roles.

The second reason you should not multiclass, and the biggest problem with the game, is controls. I am happy for PSP folks that they got to play this game, but it left us PC users with undesirable control scheme. You can invoke most of the skills - the ones not being invoked with left mouse button - only with the right mouse button, so to cast a buff on yourself (castable only on yourself for most of the buff skills), you need to switch to the buff skill with number keys, then RMC on your character. That's exxtra unwieldy, and that's why you should not invest in too many active skills. The camera is also sometimes being a problem, being too zoomed-in and innertial, and also lacking one degree of freedom; the problems with the camera got mitigated to a degree in DLC, but that's if you're willing to adopt a bit different control scheme (wasn't a problem for me). Also, there is no map overlay for dungeons, which was quite frustrating for some of the labirintey ones.

The graphics are far from top-notch even for its time, the terrain is mostly just a boring height map, and grass looks worse than if there was no grass effect at all. Water reflections look cool though, each location is unique and with its own atmosphere. Also, cell shading was implemented surprisingly gracefully, without making it look like inky mess or papercraft exhibit, and it is optional, if even that bothers you.

Music is extra generic, you've heard music like this in dozens other fantasy games; I did like a few tracks though, like Clockworks Desert theme. Sound mixing and scsripting has a few annoyances, like gunshot echo from your gun (if you're a gunner) cutting off when you take another shot, and some of the shoutier companions repeatedly shouting the same warcry over and over again in span of a second.

I found no scary bugs. From what I can remember, I softlocked two sidequests by either dying or taking on a sidequest before completing the relevant main story quest; I also got stuck in map props a few times (it is easily fixed via fast-traveling).

Man, this game is kind of a train wreck of bad game design. Enemies level up with you making leveling up irrelevant. If you are level 10, that first zombie you killed is now level 10. Enemies constantly respawn making it impossible to clear out any section of the map. The camera control is twitchy and getting it to run smooth on any computer made after 2010 takes considerable effort. Dying makes you lose all equipped gear and leaves you running around in a thong making you look like a lady-boy visiting Key West on spring break. A triumph of poor ideas, only the morbidly curious need apply to this painfest.

I have just bought this here on Steam (at the time of this writing) .
I have played a bit more than an hour , and already now I can see that it plays as it did back in 2007 .
I did finish the story back then .
Some of the quests , will lead you to the natures path , and some to the technologies path ... or you can choose the middle path and have a bit of both .
Game is good . Just as back in 2007 .

To those saying otherwise , perhaps you should play longer than just the tutorial ? Because looking at your playtime in this game , you have barely finished that . Camera is as it has always been . Moving is as it has always been . Fighting is as it has always been . Graphics is as it has aslways been .
Maybe you should choose a different race or even a different class , you know , to make it easier for you .
This is an old game . Do not expect anything 2019 modern in it , because it isn´t there .
It´s a great game , by the 2007 standards .

Anyone looking at this game , that likes old rpg´s , don´t hesitate to try it out . It has a very good story to it .

Ein grafisch sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Game. Wer sich jedoch darauf einlässt, sich bisschen einfriemelt, der wird durch die Story und das doch etwas eigene Gameplay nicht enttäuscht. The only real negative of this game is how the camera functions and how that impacts play. You are always in full control of the camera and you cannot set it to just follow you at a set angle from behind. You do get used to it but, it is frustrating when you are zoomed out too far and you are clicking on terrain objects like trees and pillars that you cannot see so your character just starts running back and forth, not going anywhere. You also cannot be zoomed in too close otherwise you start repeatedly clicking on your NPC helper constantly opening chat dialogue boxes.
That aside, the game has some interesting features like choosing between the technology path and the nature path which influences what kind of items you can use. The game play is fun and the loot system isn't overly simple or too complex. The skill tree system allows for a good deal of customisation in regards to how you want to play.
Overall, I'd recommend this game so long as you don't mind having to deal with a difficult camera system now and then.

I'm on the fence with Silverfall, but since I generally enjoyed it, I will leave a positive review. The game is aesthetically brilliant and has a lot of customisation so far as unique character builds and playstyles are concerned, which in my opinion, ought to keep the more invested players occupied, but functionally the game is rather messy and clunky.

The gameplay itself is repetitive and leaves much to be desired. Looting and selling/buying is also a practically useless endeavour. The story is fairly bland apart from the unique twist of nature versus progress. The narrative itself is somewhat difficult to follow since there are a variety of dialogue fails including mispronounciations, using interchangable terms (sometimes not even consistently with the voice actor's lines) and frequent misgendering of characters, especially the damsel in distress of the story who is often referred to as "he."

I would recommend this to those who are quite experienced in their fantasy settings and are looking for some unique concepts and aesthetics, or even those who are interested in seeing the evolution of the ARPG in this rather unique window of time pre-Torchlight and Diablo 3, but otherwise give it a miss.

Este juego es una auténtica basura. Incluso para los estándares del año 2007 es increíblemente malo.
PRIMERO DE TODO, me lo he comprado en Steam y, ¿para qué? Si cuando inicias el juego primero da errores con Physx porque al parecer usa una versión muy antigua. He tenido que investigar por mi cuenta y descargar una versión Legacy de Physx para que el puto juego me funcionase. Y después, me ha dado problemas con Steam, diciendo "no se encuentra la versión de steam". Y había que copiar MANUALMENTE el DLL de steam para que funcionase. Si ya empezamos así... PÉSIMO. Pero además es que la web de Monte Cristo (los devs) ya ni siquiera está activa. Pero el punto es que incluso siendo un juego de 2007, es HORRIBLEMENTE MALO, lleno de bugs injugables y que rompen totalmente el juego. En 2007 salieron otros juegos del género buenísimos como Titan Quest. Esto es auténtica basura.

- La cámara-
La cámara es más mala que pegarle a un padre. Hay momentos en los que tienes que rotar la cámara si pretendes seguir vivo, y a veces, clicando, clicas en estructuras que se ponen por delante de la cámara (y no desparecen) te joden el combate entero.
Después, se supone que puedes hacer "zoom", PERO PARA QUÉ IBAS A HACER ESO!? Si desde el zoom no puedes controlar NADA del puto personaje, entonces, ¿cuál es el propósito? Podrían haber quitado ese zoom de mierda y no habría ningún cambio malo, porque es más, cuando haces zoom, sólo ves que el fondo del juego está lleno de niebla blanca para que no cargue el mapa... y es horrible de ver incluso lo bajitas que son las montañas. La decisión de la cámara es asquerosa.

- El combate -
Está lleno de bugs que lo vuelven injugable. Incluso si quieres desplazarte de un lado a otro, las hitboxes de algunos enemigos son TAN grandes que no te puedes mover y tu personaje se queda atacando como un bobo.

- Las habilidades -
En general las habilidades no tienen ningún sentido ni coherencia. Puedes coger cualquier cosa, pero al mismo tiempo si quieres ser mago no hay cosas específicas para ti. Te lo puedes poner casi todo, pero luego nada tiene utilidad. No importa que hayas encontrado una espada enorme que hace mucho daño, porque si eres mago, tu daño será en base al nivel que tenga esa habilidad.

- La exploración -
La exploración dan ganas de suicidarse. Hay que intuir más o menos por dónde van los tiros para poder ir por un lado u otro. En las minas no hay mapa ninguno y tienes que tratar de predecir más o menos por dónde ir, y perderte en minas gigantes y tediosas.

- Los enemigos -
Siempre van en grupos de 3-4 integrantes y siempre te persiguen todos al mismo tiempo. Siempre es la misma historia. Vas, les pegas mientras te vas, y así todo el rato. Es más emocionante esperar a que la cámara no se bugee o las hitboxes de los enemigos sean más grandes y te "stuneen" bugeándote que las propias batallas en sí.

- Los compañeros -
Cuando un compañero se muere, se queda en el suelo muerto, persiguiéndote y teletransportándose hasta ti, hasta que unos 10-15 minutos después, resucita por toda la puta cara. Absurdísimo.

- La historia -
Penosa como ella sola. La historia es malísima, predecible, obvia y barata. Clásica fantasía con un malo malote que va matando a todos los buenos buenotes y ya está. No tienes prácticamente elecciones que sean relevantes en la historia.

- Gráficos -
Incluso para ser un juego de 2007, tenemos juegos como Titan Quest que le dan tres mil millones de vueltas a los gráficos de esta basura. Los mapas son muy randoms, se generan por zonas, y cada zona es grotescamente diferente a la anterior. Es de alta BAJA calidad todo lo que hay. Nunca he visto tal perfección en un juego a la hora de dar asco a nivel gráfico. Todos los diseños son ridículos y parece que cogieron muchos assets gratuitos y los empezaron a juntar en el mismo juego, como si hubiera sido producido por amateurs.

Supongo que por eso la empresa quebró. Vaya desgracia.

Awesome game.

Old fashioned, a bit buggy, you cant jump so its hard to walk to places sometimes. Angles can piss me off when you have orc fallower cuz it gets in my face. Coin system in silverfall sucks. You end up having too many coins and nothing to buy but if you have the DLC after you finish the main game it may add up. The game alone and the add with DLC are two completly diff games. Cuz if you have both DLC and the main game, you get more in quality and gameplay. You get crafting, diff missions and new enchantments on items, also after you reach a certain level on silverfall, you can continue with the same stuff on the DLC. Or with the progrss as I'm still only half way into the game lol

Now the story line, I love it. Its interesting. I bought the game a long time ago with a cd and it only had a little of the main quest and was mostly focused on farming. The steam version has full gameplay, which is really lovely. But its sad that even tho I recently found the cd, it didnt work because it's very old and it didnt have any way to be connected with steam. Also many things been updated since the old game and it has made the gameplay far less annoying, trust me on that. You used to have to walk all the way back to your grave, nacked, if you didnt have any items beside your main ones. But yeah, now that's in the past.

The abilities are lovely too, you can fallow either the path of nature or the path of technology. Nature is the harder path. It sucks that you cant do certain missions because it adds technology instead of nature and you cant fallow both, so when you get technology skills, its deducted from your nature towards the technology, so doing all the side quests and choosing one certain path is impossible. But you can allways just yolo through it and focus on light magic/dark magic/combat.

Also there is a multiplayer I never tried, you can try it but I have no idea how it works or if it even works. And the chance you find someone to play it with you is low af, because it isnt that there is a multiplayer server, you just somehow add it up with your friend? So yeah, good luck with that.

Overall, I could praise this game for hours since I really love it. But I suggest you try it yourself if you love some of that old stuff like I do. And if you happen to choose to try it, get the DLC too. It adds up heavily to the main game itself.

I may also add that if after getting it, it may have some problems opening up or some other problems, you just need to look up some info online. It would crash for me as well. There is also downloading problem where you have to download DLC and main game in a specific order or it doesnt add up. I recommend looking up some stuff first to avoid getting annoyed afterwards.

I'll keep it short, the game is flawed, very flawed but it is a game that you should still give a try if you like action RPG games.
It's a good game, it's just flawed, be it the camera, the inventory management, the UI (a shame that we can't move things and change the size especially on a 4k monitor), etc.
It's not the greatest game ever, neither the greatest Action RPG, there are way better action-RPG games than this one but it's still worth a shot, give it a try, you may or may not like it, you may like it if you ignore its flaws, it's kind of hard to forget about the flaws since they're everywhere but it's not impossible either.
If you played Dungeon Siege, Titan Quest or other action RPG (i won't name them all) you could like it, it has good music.

Two of the issues with games that I have a hard time tolerating are unresponsive controls and, similarly, invisible walls (or similar, as mentioned later). And this game has both in spades.

The zones are chock-full of inconsistent terrain that will block your movement... sometimes. There are lines of ground that impede progress when they look just like the rest of the terrain. Sometimes they look like something (like a tree root or some other silly non-obstacle) but most of the time they have the same appearance as the surrounding area.

The constant frustration of navigating the terrain was severe enough that I couldn't give the rest of the game a chance. Which is apparently a shame because the rest of the mechanics sound awesome.

It's a bit difficult to recommend. I think I like it based on the nostalgia factor, as I played it with my brother when I was 12, so playing it just brings back the memories. But I like the atmosphere, the music, character models and going on a mindless rampage in the swamp is just fun!

There's definitely better games to play, but if you ever see Silverfall on a sale and have nothing to do with your life, you might as welll pick it up!

Silverfall is what you call a Diablo clone. There are some great examples of such games, like Torchlight, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, etc., but for some reason for me Silverfall is the best, i'd say this game is really underrated and is even hidden gem of genre.

Well, this review won't be very long, i will just point out what i really liked about this game. It's combination of little good things, which make this game really fun to play.
For pros I'll start with... graphics. This game actually looks amazing, it uses cell shading technology (yeah, before our favourite The Walking Dead game and Borderlands), and because of that all scenery and character models look really unique and cool. Sound effects and OST are amazing too, they add great deal to the atmosphere of the game.
Gameplay... can't say much about that, it's your typical "kill monsters, earn XP and weapons, equip better gear, repeat". The only non-typical thing about gameplay is variability - you can combine several classes as you like, like you can be warrior-mage or tank-healer with familiars no problem. I'd say it's a great trait for a game of that genre, because it adds replayability value (I myself completed the game more than 10 times and wasn't bored of it, so yeah).
Plot is kinda simple, but it's okay. I liked voice acting and liked characters, so nothing much else to say.

So the only real issue with this game is that it's really hard to run. For some reason this game doesn't go well on new computers (on every computer, to be exact) because of a really old weird DirectX plugin, so you must do a litte work and download proper patch to run this game. This sucks, yeah, but this stupid technichal issue is really the one thing that I (and many other reviewers) dislike so much about this game.

So yeah, if you want to spend few evenings with a good old RPG action game - Silverfall may be the game that you are looking for. It's really cheap too, especially on sales, so i really recomend you to try it out.

Final Thoughts:
I'd played this in the past when it first came out around maybe 2008 or so it wasn’t horrible by any means but it just didn’t grab my attention much. I do love that you get to play as a goblin though, its one of my favorite races to play though sadly its pretty rare I get to play them :'( . In the end its not a horrible game but it doesn’t have a lot of "OMG, must have!" qualities to it. Again if you can get it on sale, yeah go for it, if you cant… I'd wait.

Oui ce hack&slash est sympa à mon avis,il peut plaire à condition qu'il soit à bas prix.Pas mal d'objets à trouver,bonnes animations,graphismes corrects... cependant il y a une chose qui est très agaçante voire ridicule,pourquoi les ennemis montent-ils en niveau en même temps que notre personnage ?
A quoi sert-il de developper les attributs du héros si les autres créatures évoluent de même ?
J'ai remarqué que c'est un défaut récurent dans quelques jeux de ce genre.
Ceci étant le challenge est bien là et on peut s'amuser .
Quant à l'histoire,j'avoue que je ne m'y intéresse pas trop,mais bon comme dans tous ces jeux ,ils faudra bien couper la chique au grand méchant vilain pas beau qui se cache dans le dernier niveau,le reste n'est que littérature....

Diable-like. Enemies level up when you level up. One save slot, you start from your village, in order to go on a mission you have to go through the same places you already visited time and again, fighting enemies that leveled up like you, as a result you'll wait hours for your mana and life to refill after every combat.

TLDR: Used launcher to detect my GPU and get appropriate settings. Still would not lauch. Win10 64bit Ryzen+Polaris. Tried verifying file integrity, disabling hardware and launching on lowest settings. No luck. Uses old Nvidia Physx that does not install correctly.

This series looks fairly dated, people around Steam are pointing out the irritating camera, clunky controls and all the hoops they had to go through to get it started, including having external launchers that sometimes break on their own. It looks like some kind single player everquest engine for third person hack & slash. Not worth the bother

I own the hard copy of this game, and played the hell out of it, when I was young with my friend Christopher. the times we had with this game was awesome.
The game can be tricky for new comers and experienced gamers alike as the interface and controls are a bit clunky. like most top down dungeon crawler lootfests you move your character by clicking the mouse where you want them to move, Or you can hold the mouse button down and drag it to move automatically. The graphics in the game are nice, although I'd recommend playing on lower end graphics, if you want the best performance as framerates can take a dive if there are too many enemies on screen.
After the tutorial level, the game throws you into the real world, and says "Go for it" one of the things you will notice is in this game you have to pick a side between either Nature or Technology. You can try to stay neutral, though if you do, not much will get done, and you won't be able to use the best possible items that each tree has to offer. Like most lootfests, you have a large amount of weapons to use, so you will generally find something to your liking. whether its swords, axes, maces, hand weapons, or halberds, you will find something you like.
As I said this game is can be VERY HARD, and I mean it, essentially this game can make you rip your hair out more, than dark souls, hard.
basically, combat isn't that hard, but the enemies level with the player, so if you want to do some grinding, you can go pretty much anywhere and kill some mobs to level up.
BUT, one thing to note, if you die, you loose all the equipment on you, and its up to you to go track it down, thankfully the game gives you a marker on where your stuff is. Although, when you die before reaching your equipment, the marker will change to that grave stone, so you have to track down your original grave based on your knowledge. Although this can be avoided if you pay for life insurance in the game. basically there is this guy who says "Pay some gold to keep your sh*t" which comes in handy if you feel your underleveled, or not confident. however life insurance only applies for that life, so if you forget to purchase it again once you respawn, than you better not die.
This game is worth every cent if you want a good hack and slash lootfest.
10/10 would pull my hair out again.

Do not buy. Simple.
Game does not run properly in windows 10. My system completely crushes the recomended system requirements, but getting the thing to run is too much of a hassle. So many other games out there. Devs really should make sure the game is able to launch on modern machines especially if they are still selling the thing.

骨太ストーリー＋ハクスラのファンタジーARPG。PT制によるワラワラ戦闘やエリア毎のセミオープンワールドなど、自分が過去プレイした作品の中では、プレイフィーリングは「[url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/39200/?l=japanese]Dungeon Siege 2[/url]」に酷似する。

大傑作には今一歩届かないものの、ハクスラの評価要素となるトレハン＆キャラビルドの面白さは及第点を軽くクリア。同ジャンル好きならばプレイして損はない出来。ゲーム全体のボリュームも拡張を合わせると長編の域。

かなり昔のゲームだが、トゥーンレンダリングによる絵作りが上手く機能していて、画質を最高設定にしてやればグラフィックはそこまで古臭く感じない。

また、カメラの回転・傾き操作が自在にできるので、ハクスラで良くある斜め見下ろし固定画面の視認性の悪さが苦手な人でも快適に遊べる。

レビューの数からも日本では知名度の低さが伺えるが、埋もれさせておくのは勿体無いとつくづく感じた作品。普通にオススメ。

尚、購入する場合は、拡張とセットになった「[url=http://store.steampowered.com/sub/879/?l=japanese]Silverfall: Complete[/url]」を強く推奨したい。コンプリート版だと拡張起動で無印が改修バージョンで遊べ、WASD移動や、追加種族の使用などが可能となる。
