同样是08年发行的游戏，但是街景的建模感觉比The Awaken那一作落后一些，有点像早期电脑屏保的那种画质，不过人物和其他室内场景的建模还算可以。贝克街附近的格局和那一作也是一样的，国家美术馆、大英博物馆和伦敦塔的格局和展品还挺符合现实的。
还是经常不知道怎么进行下去，我这一代直接看游戏内自带的strategic guide一步步打，才发现这写得非常详细，连小游戏的解法都写出来了，而且还自动对应目前的步骤。有一些拼图小游戏没有解法的，看文字有点抽象，所以我还是去找了视频攻略。话说那个做狗饭的小游戏里，还要加巧克力是认真的吗？

(first of all, i am not someone familiar with puzzle games, nor i am familiar with frogwares' sherlock holmes games, but i AM familiar with arsène lupin in the "i pretty much grew up reading books about this guy and still read them to this day" way, so i think this review shouldn't be taken 100% seriously)
while playing this game, i finally understood how herlock sholmes felt in the entirety of "arsène lupin vs herlock sholmes", since arsène lupin here made me real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ angry.
this game is old, so expect it to look old and run like an old game, in my experience, some of the door and items holmes could pick up would have some weird texture errors, like a door being fully black or it shining brightly like a diamond, but aside from that, the game ran quite smoothly! it didn't crash on me once, and i was happy since the game doesn't have an autosave feature... yes, there's no autosave, remember to save frequently.
two things that annoyed me were the fact that the game assumes you have knowledge on british landmarks and literature, in my case, i had little to no knowledge of the british! and that made me confused on where to go sometimes. the other thing was the cursor, it made me so mad that if i wanted to click on something (like a hint), i had to aim it a little below of where i wanted to click, which made some of the puzzles frustrating.
character-wise, i don't think it is accurate for lupin to spend half of his time (probably) giggling and writing riddles for holmes, neither it is accurate for holmes to waste his time running around and solving lupin's riddles. i did find it fun to receive lupin's riddles at first, but... after some time of doing the same thing over and over again it got boring.
lupin is also absent for the most game, just like in "arsène lupin vs herlock sholmes", and i must say, that made me really happy! buuuut i do understand how that can be disappointing for some, because his face is literally in the cover art, and we only see him for 3 or 4 cutscenes.
watson in this game is stupid, he makes stupid actions and says stupid things, i wonder if maurice leblanc was in charge of some of his dialogues? anyway, watson's portrayal here was strange, but this is a sherlock holmes game at the end of the day, not a watson one.
the ending was... dissapointing, to say without spoilers, it felt like frogwares didn't really know what to do for the ending, so they came up with a quick solution with a dialogue that felt really strange to read (especially in lupin's side).
overall, it feels a bit like a chore to play this, even if you're a fan of both holmes and lupin, but i don't think it's THAT bad of a game, just mediocre, play it if you have nothing to do, but don't expect a masterpiece.

This one is better than previous 3-4 games but there's still work to be done.
Have played many hidden object games, detective games, CYOA text adventures and so on and I very much appreciate games allowing for some degree of inference or using visually / contextually obvious clues. This title wants you clicking on all possible triggers: for example measuting footprints in museum by rapidly flailing roulette across them frantically clicking on every activation point imaginable (measuring actual texture wasn't working).
Despite still feeling like the game I'm giving my honest attempt at playing, is not too far from barely working licensed product, stifled by technology of its time and quite possibly other constraints, there is something earning it a positive review. Specifically it is the following:
- first-person controls that have all necessary actions so you don't need frankly abhorrent third-person camera anymore;
- much better graphics, animation and dialogue;
- art gallery has fairly good representations of period-accurate real artworks with what I can assume are mostly correct informational snippets.
Art gallery alone gains this title a recommendation, even if gameplay itself is far from ideal.

"Nemesis" це не про високого мутанта, що знає слово "STARS", а класичний детективний квест від любимих 🇺🇦"Frogwares" про Шерлока (Це четверта частина в серії) і злодія... Не аби якого, а самого Арсена Люпена. Ніхто не знає, хто він насправді. Власне, ви могли його десь бачити😁але певне я забігаю наперед.
Вийшла груля у 2008-му, і це, мабуть, одна з частин, що розхріна4е вам голову своїми головоломками, бо їх тут до БУЯ (Моментами це втомлює).
Не скажу, що гра буде актуальна у 2026-му, але хочу віддати данину розробникам. У ті роки вони зайняли своє місце у популярному жанрі "point-and-click", у який я тоді любив бавитися: типу "Syberia", або "Still Life", але свідомо пройти Шерлока вийшло тільки зараз... Зрозумів важливу річ - не бути мені детективом🤡
За сюжетом Шерлок Холмс пересікається з Люпеном (Як я писав вище) - це буквально мозковий батл і тролінг зі сторони Люпена, бо він без церемоній, бере і вивалює свій агрегат на стіл Шерлоку і обіцяє пограбувати 5 культових місць Лондона за 5 днів... А вам, як гравцю, випадає честь розгребсти це лайно😬
Ця частина контрастна з попередньою: там де був двіж з культом і смертями, а тут лайтовіше по атмосфері (Без жорстких і моторошних поворотів). Тому у грі добротно відтворені музеї, галереї та певні локації Лондона (Багато фактів і можна все досліджувати майже як турист), хоча графічно це вже не викличе захоплення🙄
Не знаю чи буде ремейк цієї гри, однак зараз перед початком варто врахувати наступне:
✅Цікавий сетинг, в якому відображається протистояння детектива Шерлока (Створений Артуром Конан Дойлом) і Арсен Люпен (Створений французьким письменником Морісом Лебланом)... Один із найцікавіших фактів - автор ідеї саме Леблан, і це був один з перших літературних кросоверів у детективному жанрі, але без офіційного дозволу Дойла😅(Тому прийшлось назвати "Арсен Люпен проти Херлока Шолмса")
✅Любителям детективу без маркерів, підсвіток (Ну, якщо тільки не натиснути спеціальну кнопку) і надпису "натисни F" - залетить на ура. Тут треба кумекати і розганяти свою сіру речовину.
✅З урахуванням старого графонію і року виходу гри атмосфера Лондона, музеїв, галереї, Тауерса передана файно👌
✅Головоломки серйозного рівня - або ти геній, або гуглиш... Ніх%я не просто😑
✅Озвучка в цій частині краще за "The Awakened" 2007 - го (На мою думку). Трохи театральний пафос, але для подібної гри це норм.
✅Що важливо, тепер в момент, де треба давати відповідь (Письмово) в ролі Ватсона, можна переглядати доки, щоб знайти правильну відповідь, навіть, якщо скіпали діалоги.
📛Присутній нелогічний й дивний момент, де треба назвати ім'я папуги, бо він до вас не підлетить і в цілому цей квест (Там ці птахи могли вже з*їбатись і срати на чорні карети, але ні...). Це не спойлер🤨
📛Певні типи гравців, ймовірно, застрягнуть на годину в одному місці і в результаті видалять гру та поставлять палець 👎
📛Темп гри дуже повільний, сприймається як симулятор бродилки.
📛Управління дерев’яне, інтерфейс, звичайно, архаїчний. Олдскул, х%лі.
📛На сучасному залізі можуть виникнути труднощі з запуском.
Маємо справжній квест для тих, хто хоче відчути себе детективом, а не звичайним гравцем з тучею підказок. Це моцний штурм мізків, що добре підійде для любителів старих хардкорних квестів.
🎬А якщо ви любите серіальчики, то рекомендую до перегляду "Люпен" з Омаром Сі в головні ролі (Актор, що грав у фільмі "1+1","Шоколад" і "Жарти в сторону") , сюжет дуже легко йде і захоплює з перших хв.
Треба вміти думати, а на це мало хто здатний👉😄

the main component is the puzzles, which are interesting, but some cant be solved logically.
the picture is a bit wonky at times, the London streets are a bit too sunny, but anyway I managed to capture a few beautiful shots.

Не бойтесь использовать подсказки и смотреть прохождение так как подсказки бывают не всегда правильные. Картинка приятная даже сейчас, хорошие локации и великолепная музыка. Если при малейшем непонимании использовать подсказки то играешь не отвлекаясь от сюжета и игра проходится достаточно бодро. Если себя заставлять играть на "хардкоре" без помощи будьте готовы потратить сотни часов бегая по одним и тем же локациям пытаясь решить реально сложные головоломки. Игра понравилась
Played game for several hours and now its growing on me. I do not like mini games in adventure games and so far so good. No silly mini games.
A cryptic letter from notorious burglar Arsene Lupin challenges Sherlock Holmes to stop Lupin from stealing five items important to England, thus engaging Holmes in a bout of mental sparring against France's most eccentric gentleman-genius. National pride and Holmes' ego are at stake. This is the fourth title in the Frogwares franchise of Sherlock Holmes games; and stylistically it is the sequel to "Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened."
The story is implausible but also humorous, charming, and usually fun. The pacing falters however as Sherlock is forced to continuously revisit rooms within environments to find new clues or compile objects. This game often feels like a 'wild goose chase'--a premise the developers seemingly acknowledge at the end with a sly wink when Arsene Lupin's true motive is revealed.
Frogwares's love for mathematics-based puzzles with complex (and often obscure) solutions becomes a frustrating slog: find the proper weight ratio for a combination of berries, seeds, and fish; correct an equation written in Roman numerals to make it true; count the revolutions of planets in a mechanical model and apply the numbers to a formula hinted in a verse; etc. Word puzzles are at times equally frustrating to decipher; a particular 'anagram' became confusing by having more letters than the solution. Fortunately, there is a system of sequential hints that will reveal solutions to players. There were a few puzzles however I still couldn't understand the logic even after I had fully revealed the answer.
Some progress relies on an assumed 'common knowledge' that the player may not have--a familiarity of London's landmarks, for example; or recognizing from clues a famous example of English literature. There is one quiz that Holmes must answer to progress further, and the solution is the name of a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle character that fans will know well--but is only referenced in passing in the game by an item found within a different level. Once again the hint system will bail the player out; but this specific challenge seems unfair if not unnecessary.
With certain puzzles excluded, the game is overall casual and fairly easy to navigate and solve with moderate trial-and-error exploration. There are some graphical glitches, however. Occasionally some object textures don't load or doors won't animate after they've been unlocked. The final chapter seems the most flawed, as animated and moveable objects randomly respawn in anachronistic placements. This impacted my ability to complete the last sequence of actions before Holmes confronts Lupin.
The game is long (I logged 22 hours to reach its conclusion) but I enjoyed the journey. Holmes is more likeable than in "The Awakened," his temperament here less condescending and snide. In "Nemesis" Holmes is focused and deliberate--similar to his portrayal in "The Case of the Silver Earring." Dr. Watson remains Holmes' steadfastly loyal friend and unwitting comic foil, fumbling through the case with good intentions but poor choices, but here he also has some agency. With "Nemesis" we see a dynamic between the two characters that is entertaining yet collegial.
Большая часть головоломок сделана для того, кто их придумал ибо логика их решения далека от логичности, не имеет строгого решения и их выполнение заходит в тупик не потому, что ты не выполняешь условия загадок, а потому, что ты не угадал логику их создателя (задания прописаны крайне расплывчато и никогда не знаешь что написано фигурально, а что буквально) или ввел не ту форму слова в поле разговоров. Я не знаю существует ли человек, который разгадал их все без подсказок (кроме разработчика). В остальном же игра соответствует потраченной сумме (покупка по скидке).
It’s pretty meh overall. There are good things and there are bad things. The good. 1st person and 3rd person modes work as intended. No bugs or glitches. If you’re stuck you can use the hints system and it shows you what you’ve already searched and what you haven’t. There’s also a guide which explains in detail what you need to do.
The bad. Puzzles seem to drag on and on. Especially in museum and Buckingham Palace. Puzzles are also not fun. I don’t care about making some dog his food or searching for dolls all over the place. The puzzles in museum are the only ones that require you to think. A few times I also had problems with English as it’s not my first language. I had no idea what some words meant which then meant that I couldn’t figure the puzzle. But that’s my fault not the games. Also Watson seems to get dumber with each game that I play. At times he comes across as a simpleton.
It's an ok game, but I preferred both The Silver Earring and Awakened (2008) to this one.
Сама идея столкнуть Холмса с Люпеном просто пушка. Ты буквально по пятам идешь за гением, который грабит главные достопримечательности Лондона прямо у тебя под носом, и это реально азартно.
Да, графон из середины нулевых, а Ватсон, который телепортируется тебе за спину каждый раз, когда ты оборачиваешься, до сих пор может напугать до чертиков. Но в этом и прикол. Загадки тут не для галочки, иногда приходится реально посидеть с листочком и ручкой, чтобы сообразить, че там Люпен намудрил в своих записках. Но когда пазл складывается, чувствуешь себя реально Шерлоком, а не просто зрителем.
Если любите квесты, где надо именно думать, а не просто тыкать на всё подряд, то это мастхэв. Прошел на одном дыхании, хотя местами и подгорало от сложности. Атмосферно, стильно и с юмором всё в порядке.
Старая школа в лучшем ее проявлении.
If you like unhinged voice acting, this game is PERFECT.
The puzzles are good! Some are very difficult and some are very easy. The story is quite interesting and if you've been feeling like current gaming isn't what it used to be, I can only recommend this game. The absurdity of some scenes is very refreshing and feels like it was taken straight out of an old cartoon.
Sehr lustig. Mir hat es gut gefallen. Besonders schön fand ich den Bogen am Schluss, der ein paar Dinge, erklärte, die man schon fast wieder vergessen hatte.
Ein Spiel wie ein Museumsbesuch (mit Führung). Man nehme sich einen Heißgetränk seiner Wahl und genieße. Es ist mit seiner Thematik und durch die gute Hilfefunktion ein sehr entspanntes Abenteuer. Ein sehr tolles Spiel!
Es ist empfehlenswert erst die anderen Fälle des "alten" Sherlock Holmes zu spielen, bis auf "The Testament of Sherlock Holmes". Dies darf der gute Schlusspunkt über die leider vergangene Ära bleiben.

La historia es interesante pero el juego se hace repetitivo e incluso molesto en algunos momentos, en los que debes estar continuamente entrando y saliendo de los mismos lugares para seguir avanzando.
Una pena que no esté traducido al español. Y obligatorio jugarlo en primera persona, en tercera es infumable.
No es el mejor ni el peor de los Sherlock que he jugado. Lo que sí, cuando quedaban unos 20min de juego, se me ha bugeado, ya que no podía salir de la Storeroom, por lo que he tenido que ver el final a través de Youtube.

It's good, though some of the free-form questions are too hard, I would say. I also saw at least one interaction where I knew the next step, but the game refused me because of two related objects, I interacted with the wrong one.
It has the same problems the Awakened has perfomance-wise, but the story is actually pretty descent so it is worth to try it. Would love a remaster of this one and the Jack the Ripper title.
Tras haber jugado mil veces al Crimes & Punishments y a The Devil's Daughter, decidí probar los juegos más viejos sin esperar gran cosa y he de reconocer que ha superado mis expectativas.
La jugabilidad es muy similar, pero me gusta que no se enfoque tanto en los diálogos e interrogatorios y más en el entorno y la información codificada que proporciona Lupin, la cual puede ser un verdadero reto descifrar, pero da un gustazo resolver; si parece demasiado difícil, siempre se puede recurrir a las pistas que da el juego y van revelando información a cuentagotas para permitir al jugador resolverlo sin necesitar tanta ayuda si así lo desea.
También me ha gustado que fuese una sola historia continua en vez de varios casos cortos, aunque hay un punto cerca del final en que parece que se atasque un poco y los objetivos son ridículamente complicados.
Recomiendo mucho activar el modo en primera persona, ya que los espacios pueden ser gigantescos y moverse con los controles en tercera persona es exasperante. Hablando de los espacios, los tiempos de carga entre uno y otro son casi nulos (se puede pasar de Baker St. al National Gallery en cuestión de 3 segundos) y el sistema de viaje rápido dentro del mismo espacio es mucho más rápido (valga la redundancia) que el de algunos juegos de hoy en día.

I love the concept of Sherlock Holmes and I have not played any of the other ones available. You will get used to the navigations but it's quite buggy as far as getting to progress through the steps. There is a hint button but even having uncovered each of the previous clues, it won't progress me to the next stage. I'm at an inpass.

Najbardziej nieintuicyjny z Sherlocków.
Any tension between holmes and lupin is mostly implied, because actually feeling clever isn’t on the games agenda nor it's predecessors. The real crime here is how dull they managed to make a holmes vs lupin game to be. These are supposed to be evolved games from the hidden object variants yet it still feels like I am just point and clicking on everything.
Montonous but with LOTS of good puzzles
If you like solving a lot of puzzles, you're going to like this game. I disagree with reviewers who say that almost all puzzles/riddles in this game are extremely difficult. There are maybe three or four that are indeed insanely difficult but the rest are fine and can be solved by using logic. The riddles that I disliked as well, were the safe-cracking puzzle, preparing the meal for the dog and the puzzle with roman numbers. Some quiz-like questions here and there might be a bit difficult too but far from being impossible to find out.
The game is monotonous, especially in the museum section, which IMO is overly long. But all in all, I liked this game and its puzzles, some of them are very memorable and well-done - like figuring out which wardrobe belongs to what guard, deciphering the crypted message and so on.

Oltre a problemi nella traduzione italiana per alcuni enigmi e di piccoli glitch grafici nella modalità in prima persona, non ho apprezzato la maggior parte degli enigmi:
in certi casi la soluzione era ovvia ma dovevi comunque continuare con il puzzle per completarlo, o erano insensati gli strumenti utilizzati per la risoluzione e il come recuperarli, oppure l'enigma stesso era completamente fuori contesto.
A questo si aggiunge il fatto che molti degli enigmi sembra siano stati aggiunti solo per allungare il brodo.
Tuttavia, grazie ai suggerimenti forniti dal gioco stesso non mi sono mai davvero bloccato.
Un'ultima nota, non so dire se positiva o negativa, il personaggio di Watson (un dottore che è stato in guerra e affianca l'investigatore più geniale al mondo) è un totale idiota.

Пік нудьги й безцільного бігання між локаціями - це музей. У порівнянні з попередньою частиною (The Awakened), ця гра значно поступається і за сюжетом, і за цікавістю ігроладу, і за рівнем загадок 4\10

Моя третя пройдена гра про Шерлока.
Мені не хотілося б ставити "не рекомендую", але вибачте, це просто дурка. Ця гра висмоктала з мене всю радість як бісів дементор, а Люпена хотілося задушити власними руками. Сюжет аля "інтелектуальна дуель" між Шерлоком і Люпеном. Тонна, просто ТОННА листів (загадок) у формі віршів і пропорційно зі збільшенням їхньої кількості все більше зменшувалася моя жага до життя. Не рідко було таке, що я просто не розуміла, що це навіжене з мене хоче і я по декілька разів перечитувала його високоінтелектуальні польоти думок щоб зрозуміти (хоча б для початку) куди взагалі йти. Те ж пограбування в музеї і постійна біготня між виставковими залами і бібліотекою, яка не принесла мені ні каплі радості. Чи то гра не для мене, чи то я не маю достатнього інтелекту для її проходження без спалахів гніву - для мене це ні. І, знову ж, немає української.

Игра хорошая много головоломок, которые out of box требуют решения типа начитанности игрока и знания фактов. Правда в некоторых местах подсказки неправильные, например когда надо медали переставлять. Иногда уставал ходить по большим локациям где половина мест вообще не понадобится например в Таувере такие масштабы локации и приходиться столько обойти чтобы понять что все в другом месте лежит. а там где ты искал это просто декор. Также встречался небольшой пиксельхантинг так-как при камере от первого лица не всегда можно было понять берется предмет или нет. На счет сюжета ну Ватсон здесь тупой и все, персонаж для комических сцен и фраз да ладно как это вы догодались.

For a game that was released in 2007, It looks terrible and sounds almost as bad. The gameplay is very similar to Silver Earring with the additional perks of running when double clicking and fast travel. And those two additions are the only good things to come out of this game.
The story is minimal and uninteresting. The puzzles require a lot of reading and backtracking to solve. It can still be annoying difficult to move your character around since the game isn't entirely 100% responsive, often requiring you to click on the same area several tops in hopes that you move to the area you want to/need to be in. Considering how many games deep they are in at this point and how they've pretty much used the same gameplay system since the beginning, you'd figure it would have a lot more polish but it doesn't. Instead, it is almost as awful as it was when Silver Earring came out and that is saying something.
All in all, it is another skippable, forgettable game that is hindered by frustrating controls and a forgettable story.
This is long, really hard game. Sometimes it makes no sense. Sometimes it is illogical. Some puzzles are impossible. It has Sherlock Holmes vibes, but I could not recommend it to anyone. Story all in all is ok, graphic is ok. Audio is terrible. But all in all pick a better game for playing instead.
While the complexity of puzzles and scenery has decreased a fair bit, this game is overall a huge step-up from the previous title.
It has introduced a first person view, along the regular 3rd person view with a fixed camera, and is fully playable like so. This game also comes with a built in hint system, so no external guides needed even if one does get stuck. Hints can also be used to track one's progress within the stage, without revealing further steps/spoilers.
It is true that the characters might be a bit too simple and that, as some other reviews stated, "everybody shares a single brain cell", but it is in no way done poorly.
What I do dislike is the occasional level design with big, open areas. They are very empty and slow to traverse, it manages to break the immersion here and there. The developers did fix this with map now having a few fast-travel points within each level, but it often feels like they kept patching an old rag instead of just getting a new, better one.

Думаю вам зайде тільки якщо ви фанат історії Великобританії. Гра технічно вже дуже стара, головоломки не можу сказати що цікаві, скоріше душні, можна з таким успіхом просто розв'язувати кросворди в журнальчику. Гра складна, пройти без користування підказками (вони є прямо в грі) або без користування гуглом дуже важко. Найкраща частина гри це жарти над французами, які дійсно є доволі смішні)

В целом, пожалуй, мне скорее понравилось, чем не понравилось. Какое-то время после начала держит в напряжении, понукает торопиться, как будто и впрямь есть какой-то тикающий таймер и необходимость обогнать, опередить соперника, но как только ты начинаешь тупить (а ты начинаешь тупить, это неизбежно), приходит и понимание, что спешить, в общем-то, некуда.
Некоторые головоломки довольно неочевидны. Их сложно решить не потому, что они слишком тяжелы, а по причине абсолютного непонимания, что, собственно, делать-то надо. И вот тогда, уже сбившись с темпа и растеряв азарт погони, ты перестаёшь получать от игры удовольствие. Я так на две недели её забросила, потому что при одной только мысли о ней я вспоминала не то, как увлекательно было продвигаться к кульминации противостояния, а как я на чём-то там застряла — то бишь, вернувшись, я начну оттуда, из мозгового тупика. И всё же по итогу я испытала чувство приятного удовлетворения: все загадки разгаданы, все головоломки распутаны, Шерлок победил, а значит, и я тоже победила. Так что попробовать однозначно стоит, а там уж как пойдёт.
Just as good as the previous installment of the series, The Awakened (2008). It makes for a nice follow-up to that game, though you could play this one first with no problem.
+/- Controls are MUCH better than previous games but still a little clunky and obtuse.
+/- Music is not nearly as repetitive in this one. Not a great set of music, but it at least doesn't drive you mad, as in previous installments.
+ Sherlock actually is, dare I say, likable in this game! Funny enough, I found myself liking Sherlock more than Watson this time around.
+ Yet again, a true match for Sherlock. This time, not through some unknown force but an equally powerful mind. You may even find yourself liking the nemesis by the end.
Yes, this is the first Frogwares Sherlock Holmes game that I can confidently recommend as GOOD! Nemesis plays very similarly as The Awakened Remastered, but has better polish and smoother design. The case is much more straightforward, making it easier to follow and enjoy. The excellent stepwise hint system returns and I recommend using it. There's no reason to get stuck in an old game like this.
Next up: Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper. This actually released before Nemesis Remastered, so I'm not sure it will be as polished. I'm hoping for the best.
Running around hoping your mouse cursor will change into a *interact* version of it and then running back and forth through boring and unimaginative open areas is a waste of time.

Non sans surprise que le jeu nous replonge dans les mêmes vibes que celui sur l'enquête de Jack The ripper.
Cependant, je n'ai pas ressenti les mêmes émotions mais parfois, un peu trop souvent même, de l'ennui.
Trop d'allers-retours, de lenteur dans le déroulement de l'histoire et je dirais même pas assez de profondeur. Un Watson ridiculisé ... ça m'a dérangé que son image soit si ternie pour qu'il soit perçu tel un ignare ou un imbécile alors qu'on parle d'un médecin. Je trouve que ça ne colle pas avec le personnage qu'il est et qu'on rentre dans un cliché du génie accompagné de son valet un peu benêt.
Je ne suis pas une experte des énigmes, loin de là même, mais franchement dites moi comment vous avez fait pour trouver la solution du coffre du directeur pour savoir la graduation des 4 molettes ...la roue centrale montre quelles sont les combinaisons à y indiquer mais la graduation me paraissait illogique de 0 à 90 -- je ferais une piètre voleuse car je n'ai pas compris et j'ai dû m'aider d'un guide pour me sortir de là :') idem pour le message cunéiforme...
En bref, les énigmes me paraissaient, pour certaines, plus ennuyeuses et plus compliquées qu'elles auraient pu être. Je ne dis pas que cela a pu plaire à d'autres esprits plus doté de culture que moi-même mais ça a été mon ressenti personnel.
Pour les friands d'énigmes vous y trouverez votre bonheur à coup sûr ! Les casse-têtes sont au rendez-vous !

Pour ceux qui connaissent bien la série des jeux Sherlock Holmes, il est évident que beaucoup d'améliorations sont à noter dans cet épisode.

[*]Comme toujours avec le studio, l'univers de Sherlock Holmes est très bien respecté. Bien que cela ne soit pas nouveau dans la série, je pense même que c'est de mieux en mieux incorporé à l'histoire. Les références aux écrits de Conan Doyle ainsi que les petits clins d'œil aux autres volets de la série sont superbes.
[*] Un effort considérable est à noter dans l'originalité des personnages. Ceci s'explique notamment par les dialogues qui sont mieux maniés. Ainsi, les personnages que vous rencontrez paraissent plus authentiques. Il y a un brin d'humour très bien écrit et bien doublé qui est fort appréciable. Mention spéciale pour le Dr Watson qui a beaucoup plus de caractère, ce qui est fort plaisant et le rend plus attachant.
[*] Les graphismes des lieux restent plaisants : les différents endroits paraissent authentiques. Bien que ce ne soit pas non plus exceptionnel (le jeu datant de 2008), on ne peut pas dire que le studio a négligé ce point. Par ailleurs, les lieux sont très riches [spoiler](et c'est vrai qu'il y avait de quoi faire quand on reprend des endroits emblématiques de Londres !).[/spoiler] Bien que parfois ça paraisse quelque peu vide, ce n'est pas si dérangeant dans la mesure où l'apport culturel du jeu est fort appréciable, et c'est même l'une des clés de voûte du volet : on ne se contente pas de jouer, on apprend des choses et cette mécanique a été exploitée à merveille ici et a été bien incorporée aux lieux et au scénario.
[*] Autre gros point positif : la diversité de la jouabilité. Pour ceux qui ont connu les opus précédents, le gros point noir était cette sensation d'être un peu le spectateur des événements (je parle notamment de [i]La Boucle d'argent[/i]). Ici, les puzzles et casse-tête sont plus variés, et vous rendent meilleur acteur de l'histoire. Il faut également noter que depuis l'apparition de la section d'aide, le jeu est plus plaisant à jouer. Cette section était indispensable. Par ailleurs, les énigmes sont pour la grande plupart, plus simples que dans les précédents opus, et c'est un point positif. Il faut souligner enfin que la possibilité de jouer à la première personne depuis le précédent volet rend le jeu moins laborieux et moins lourd.

Bien que le scénario puisse paraître simpliste (il fallait s'y attendre, un Sherlock Holmes vs Arsène Lupin, on voit tout de suite dès le début qu'on va avoir droit au jeu du chat et de la souris), on reste tout de même surpris de certains déroulement de l'enquête. Bien qu'ils ne soient pas majoritaires à mon sens, ils apportent tout de même un frein à la jouabilité.

[*] Quelques bugs, notamment de texture. Des objets deviennent noirs sans aucune raison apparente, ou alors pire : des objets disparaissent ! La lumière est parfois mal gérée (des objets sont beaucoup plus sombres que d'autres alors qu'ils sont à côté). Ceci freine tout de même l'immersion et c'est bien dommage. Il y a aussi des phases où un lieu est mal chargé (aucune interaction possible), et là ça devient problématique et l'on doit recharger le lieu. Néanmoins, je tiens à noter que ces événements dérangeants sont mineurs. J'ajoute à cela un avis très personnel, mais je trouve que certains objets sont encore difficiles à trouver (c'est un problème qui persiste depuis le début de la série). Il faut parfois faire plusieurs fois le tour d'une même pièce en rasant les murs pour espérer trouver ce qui nous manque.
[*] Cependant, on arrive sur le sujet qui à mon sens, est le gros point noir du jeu. Pour faire clair, certaines phases de jeu sont beaucoup trop [b]longues et lassantes ![/b] Dans les précédents opus, on avait plus de variété dans les lieux ... Là, on reste trop longtemps dans les mêmes endroits ... [spoiler]Pour citer quelques exemples flagrants, l'épisode de la National Gallery : il y a beaucoup de choses à faire et c'est très limite ... Mais le pire reste le British Museum... désolé je craque mais [b]JE N'EN POUVAIS PLUS !!![/b] Pour faire court, c'est juste [b]interminable[/b] ! Oui d'accord, le British Museum est très sympa à visiter ... On sent presque que les développeurs ont tout misé sur des endroits plus restreints et moins nombreux ... Mais on en devient fou à tourner en rond dans les mêmes pièces ... À peine on résout une énigme de Lupin que hop, en voilà une nouvelle ... Ce souci nous donne presque mal à la tête ... On a l'impression de lui courir après sans jamais voir la fin ... Et Lupin use toujours de la même stratégie : un poème qu'on doit déchiffrer, on doit trouver l'oeuvre et le livre pour déchiffrer le message et trouver la nouvelle énigme ... Et on a l'impression que ça ne s'arrête jamais ![/spoiler] Même la musique qui est très bien (j'adore le classique ce n'est pas la question) en devient lassante à se jouer en boucle alors que vous galérez depuis deux heures dans la même pièce ... Il aurait fallu un ou deux endroits en plus je pense .. quitte à ce qu'il y est moins d'efforts produits sur l'originalité des lieux. Le jeu a montré son amélioration à propos de la diversité des énigmes, mais il pêche à les proposer au bon moment. En résumé, le jeu n'aurait pas du se contenter d'aussi peu de lieux et de phases où le même style d'énigmes se répète sans fin.

En résumé, le jeu reste quand même bon et se joue encore aujourd'hui. On apprécie fortement les efforts fournis, quant à la diversité des énigmes, à l'effort sur les caractères des personnages ... J'avais peur au départ que l'histoire ne soit pas si captivante. Finalement, on arrive tout de même à être surpris. Un bon jeu qui montre le souci du studio à proposer un contenu de qualité, et ça fait énormément plaisir. On eût préféré néanmoins, plus d'endroits mythiques de la ville et certaines phases de jeu moins longues afin d'améliorer la diversité spatio-temporelle du scénario. Le studio a voulu proposer beaucoup d'améliorations qui sont à noter, mais elles ne sont pas exploitées en harmonie. Je recommande ce volet de la série, car il fera plaisir aux amateurs de cet univers, et peut-être même à ceux qui veulent le découvrir.
La notion de fun est propre à chacun. Me concernant j'aime prendre mon temps sur des énigmes, observer galérer...mais il faut quand même que le jeu tienne en haleine à un certain niveau, notamment l'histoire. Et là c'est quand même bien faiblard par rapport à la la difficulté du jeu.

Echt schade, eigentlich ein echt nettes Spiel. Mir hat echt gut gefallen, dass das Spiel herausfordernd ist und einen nicht die ganze Zeit an die Hand nimmt, so wie es neuerdings bei Spielen so ist. Geschichte auch nett. Aber die Rätsel sind teils wirklich ein Joke. Es gibt teils missverständliche Hinweise und noch schlimmer, teils auch einfach falsche. Leider führt das dazu, dass man sich nicht sicher ist, ob man es wirklich versuchen soll zu lösen, weil mit einer nicht allzu geringen Wahrscheinlichkeit die Lösung falsch ist. Und das nicht aufgrund menschlichen Versagens, sondern weil es offenbar mehr Lösungen gibt. Also nicht wirklich, sie lassen ja nur eine gelten, aber bei einer mathematischen Gleichung ist es eigentlich egal, ob der Wert auf beiden Seiten 137 oder beide male 87 ist. Frustrierend und auch schade, da manche Puzzles doch ganz gut waren.
Abseits davon ist das herausfinden der nächsten Schritte häufig weniger deduktiv, als "mal rumfragen ob es irgendwo etwas neues gibt, weil gerade schon alles kombiniert wurde". Ich finde schwierige Puzzels super, aber ich hab weder Nerv noch Zeit fürs Raten. Gerade wenn man einen Meisterdetektiv spielen soll, ist das doch eher paradox.
Unterm Strich echt ein super Ansatz, aber das core Element ist leider nicht nur teils schlecht und behäbig, sondern auch schlicht fehlerhaft.

The game puzzles are incredibly hard and dry. It is a pity since the atmosphere and the story are pleasant but they are not enough to enjoy being constantly stuck, potentially looking for an item you could not pick up because it was too "early' the first time you saw it... I really wanted to play the game without help (or almost), but I ended up constantly looking into a walkthrough to save me from uninstalling. Big disappointment.

This game is quite good but the glitches make certain parts of the game quite insufferable.

- You couldn't skip cut scenes with mouse 1 (mostly in end game)
- Teleport was bugged (mostly in end game)
- Rotation and movement of objects didn't work to completion. It moved in one point rotations at a time

//I had to wait 8 mins per book at one of the stages (not providing full details in case of spoilers) to pass that stage. And since that included the machine too add 5 mins of wait time for each objective.

I would play this game if you're a Sherlock fan but if you don't like glitchy games, this is not for you. Again, this could be just my personal experience, so take this with a grain of salt.

Pro: Die Steuerung ist angenehmer als bei den früheren Spielen. Die Atmosphäre von London ist ungeheuer gut eingefangen. Die deutsche Synchronisation ist recht gut. Es gibt eine eingebaute Hilfe, die nach und nach mehr Tipps gibt. Schöner Humor. Die Möglichkeit zwischen unterschiedlichen Perspektiven zu wechseln ist toll für Menschen, die mit Egoperspektive gesundheitliche Probleme haben.
Contra: Viele Rätsel sind absolut unlogisch und selbst mit der Hilfefunktion hatte ich manchmal keine Idee, wie ich auf die Lösung hätte kommen können. Die Rätsel waren stellenweise 10x sehr ähnliche Rätsel hintereinander, da fehlte die Abwechlsung. Auch die Musik könnte abwechlungsreicher sein.
