A parallel universe in Warhammer Fantasy where the Empire of Man and the Skaven maintained peace for several hundred years; only for the Skaven to suddenly attack with overwhelming numbers and devastating warpstone weaponry. In response, the Empire fought back using refined warpstone armaments and powerful exoskeleton battle suits.

Cool pixel art, XCOM style, turn-based shooter with some interesting features and extra things to keep in mind while playing. The stress/dread system is really fun and keeps you on your toes, and the bonds between teammates are pretty powerful perks that make you want to keep your team alive and together as long as you can. Really love the style and pace of this. Feels intense and always moves forward. Inching around every corner anticipating a swarm of rats waiting to ambush you is always thrilling. Plus it's pretty forgiving for a roguelike, letting you restart a mission with no penalty if things don't go your way.

One downside is it's pretty linear and a lot of the missions feel the same, so when you play through and beat it once, you've pretty much seen everything. Also the story is pretty cookie cutter with no real strong hooks besides "rats bad, protect automaton". I wanted maybe a twist or something to flesh it out a bit more, but it's not a dealbreaker because the real draw is the gameplay. Experimenting with different units and seeing which skills synergize well together is what keeps me wanting to replay it over and over.

Looking forward to the sequel! Hope they add in more types of missions and skill progression because I can see the potential here for something truly great, it just needs a little more polish, some more interesting story beats, and different non-linear progression to make it really awesome.
